Ramirez just stood and watched while Jessie was killed. All of these things Mike
did had a huge psychological impact on Richard Ramirez. Mike taught Richard that
it was alright to hurt and kill people. Richard was not born with the sense that
killing people was socially acceptable. He learned this by watching Mike kill his
wife and listening to Mike s stories about hurting women. This further shows that
Richard Ramirez s nurture drove him to become a serial killer. Furthermore,
growing up poor also contributed to Richard Ramirez becoming a serial killer.
