The Role Of Dystopia In Ray Bradbury s Farenheit 451
Dystopia ussually refers to a community or society, ussually fictional, that is in some important way,
undesiarable or frightning. In this case both farenhight 451, and our beloved modern world can both be
seen as dystopias.Although some may be blind to the eye, when taking our world in consideration as
one due to the factors that make it appeal otherwise,it unfortuanetly shares the same key points as the
ones in farenhight 451 that make it one.
This is shown throughout the whole book,Farenheight 415, by ray bradbury, laying out detail by detail
about how a dystopian society lives their everyday life and the conflicts that arrise within it in this
fictional story. Hoping that people in our modern society ,can point out a few dystopian flaws in ours
as well. For example in 451,they ban literature books, while our society prohibits them from certain
age groups. Another way includes, how 451, does not permit its citizens certain rights or freedom of
speech, and seems to be controlling over its people as well as not letting them at least have a choice or
say. But if you take a look at our society, this can be seen in politics today, as well as in school policys.

Nikola Tesla, a Mastermind in Wireless Energy Essays
Tesla and Wireless Energy Nikola Tesla a man enshrouded in mystery that had been forgotten in
history. He was a mastermind of inventions and innovations. He alone created alternating currents and
generators, a way to freely transmit electricity, and an idea of free wireless energy for all. If Tesla had
more of a chance to finish his crowning achievement it everyone could have free wireless energy.
Nikola Tesla was born on July 9, 1856, in Croatia under a thunderstorm. Tesla s Father and Mother
were Serbian. His Father was a priest at an East orthodox church while his Mother did sowing at
home. During that time boys had two options; to either join the army, or become a priest. His Father
was eager for him to become part of the church so ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tesla s Father moved to Gospic and Tesla became even more distressed because of his love of his old
village. His father had done more training to increase his memory of the bible; but moreover Tesla had
found something intriguing to him a shelf of books in the back of the church that Tesla enjoyed
reading to pass the time. Tesla also developed strange likes, dislikes and habits. At the age of 12 Tesla
found a Serbian translation of a book called Abifi. Abifi in the beginning of the Novel is unruly at the
beginning but ends dying as a hero for his prince and country. Inspired by this Tesla used his will to
begin to control his visions, and use them for more productive purposes that will help him on designs.
Soon after Tesla had begun elementary school. Tesla excelled at school, and during school became ill.
So ill that doctors and physicians gave up on Tesla (they didn t whether or not it was related to his
visions or that he had visions), but recuperated slowly while reading books that the local library had
sent in volumes. After he completed his studies at Karlovac, Tesla went home to Gospic. When he
returned there was an epidemic of cholera. Tesla fell ill and fought the multitude of sicknesses and
diseases for nine months. He was bed ridden and fell into dropsy pulmonary trouble (TESLA) until his
coffin was ordered. One night when Tesla was near death, his father rushed in to his side and

Outline the current legislation for home based childcare Produce an information sheet which clearly
outlines the current legislation for home based childcare More than ever, Child protection is a topical
issue. That s why many years ago the British government, aware of the fragility and vulnerability of
children to adults, has implemented a number of laws relating to children and young people in the UK.
These laws are made to define the inherent right of children, and also to define the implication of their
rights for all those responsible of or using any childhood services; but more specifically what we will
see through the legislation concerning the rights of children, is how they may impact the work of
childcarers, how they can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

a specific impact on childcarer s practice, but not only, as course handout 1a (2012, p2) confirms This
Act is for all those who are responsible for planning, running and using early childhood services . The
Childcare Act 2006 which is about duties on local authorities, regulation and inspection for childcare

good quality service for young children. As we can see the impact is quite direct because is this law

When I Heard The Learn D Astronomer Poem Analysis
Haleigh Youll
When I Heard The Learn d Astronomer Almost every college student in the world can relate to being
bored in a lecture hall. Old professors teaching boring material that does not relate to what you want to
be doing with your time. In Walt Whitman s poem, When I Heard the Learn d Astronomer, Whitman s
character is describing just that. The character leaves a lecture and is one within nature. The character
uses past tense throughout the entire poem. I believe that this poem is someone reflecting on a
moment in life where they made a choice between knowledge and true happiness. The character s
ability to connect with nature helps them make a tough decision about what they want in life. The title
and first line of the poem are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The character is no longer using terms of isolation when speaking. Whitman s use of the word in
shows the character is submerging themselves within nature. No longer alone to deal with the real
world. The characters thoughts are blending with the air around them. Whitman s use of the word
moist expresses the emotions the character is feeling within nature. When I think of the word moist, I
think of alive and prospering. The character relates because they are no longer stagnant in life. The
characters decision to submerse themselves in the natural world will further liven up their life. The
character no longer has the weight of the world on their shoulders and is free to be who they truly

4.4 Regional Geology
The Callytharra Formation and associated unit Moogooloo Sandstone are found in the Merlinleigh
Sub basin of the Southern Carnarvon Basin. The Callytharra Formation was forming toward the end of
the last major glaciation and represents formations that were deposited in a cool temperate climate.
Moogooloo Sandstone is restricted within the Merlinleigh Sub basin, within an average thickness of

Literature suggests that the Wandagee Formation conformably overlies the Quinnanie Shale (Mory
Backhouse, 1997). These two sections were most likely deposited within a marine shelf, perhaps
below the storm water wave base (notebook page 33). The Quinnanie, displaying no trace fossils or
bioturbation and generally massive in structure may suggest that it was deposited at greater depths
than the Wandagee Formation or it may suggest a cycle of shallowing and deepening waters, due to
tidal influences. The Quinnanie representing deepened waters. Its more organic make up may also
indicate that it was deposited at greater depths than the Wandagee. The Wandagee Formation contains
a vast number of structures that indicate a shallower environment than the Quinnanie. Whilst still
being deposited below the storm water wave base, it may be possible that it was deposited during a
shallowing oscillation. Trace fossils that were burrowing indicate shallower waters, the stratigraphic
log demonstrates these relationships, figure 22).
5.7 Petroleum Potential
Quinnanie Shale is suggested to be a source rock, it has fair levels of organics, but has low generating
potential, and is most likely more gas prone. The Byro Group itself contains some source rocks.
However, it is suggested that this system is immature (Ghori, 1998)

Essay On Dual Federalism
Federalism is a division of power in a central government and their regional governments.
(Learners.org, Federalism US vs. The States). The first system of federalism is dual federalism. Dual
federalism is the state government has their own responsibilities and the national government has their
own responsibilities. Dual federalism was mainly based around the Tenth Amendment which states
that anything that isn t in the Constitution are reserved to the states. It is kind of like a tug of war, the
state governments are on one side and the federal government on the other. The rope is pulled back
and forth, and at one time one side sees to be winning, but then the rope gets pulled back to the other
side. In the dual federalism, each government ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the past, the Congress and the House have forced the state governments to meet in certain
enviromental standards. (Sparknotes Editors, Federalism, page 2)
In the early 1970s, the US knew that they needed a change in federalism so they called it new
federalism. New federalism gave the states some power while knowing that the federal government is
the highest power. At this time, the state government regained some power. Richard Nixon started to
support this type of federalism during his presidency, and every president since Nixon has continued
to support new federalism.(Sparknotes Editors,Federalism,page 1)
Examples of when the National Government has withheld funding to the States to making them
comply was in World War II when the people were relying on the federal money and when the
government was relying on the states to follow federal policies. ( Sparknotes Editors, Federalism, page

purpose with no excuses. (Sparknotes Editors, Federalism, page

My Last Duchess Comparison
Both London and My Last Duchess explore the ideas of power through social structures, hierarchy
and synecdoche. In London Blake presents the theme of power through a reportage. The narrator
wanders through a chartered street and by the chartered Thames . This shows that in the narrator s
eyes the streets are owned and even an aspect of nature such as the River Thames is in ownership of
someone. These owners that Blake refers to is the state who are believed to have acquired so much
power that they can own natural landmarks. Due to this power, the people in London wear
metaphorical manacles that are mind forged which shows they have trapped themselves due to the
pain and suffering the higher class has caused them. Also, the repetition ... Show more content on

The narrator (Duke) who is of an upper class is having a conversation with an envoy when he
mentions Will t please you sit and look at her? . This shows the Duke s commanding nature as he
almost forces the envoy to look at his painting although he uses a question it is rhetorical (envoys do
not reply) and it shows how the Duke has power. Also, the Duke s power is emphasized as he chooses
who can see the painting since none puts by the curtain I have drawn . This gives him a sense of
importance. Browning also writes she ranked my gift...with anybody s gift . This shows that the Duke
believes that names and status hold importance, power even and he expects the name of Duchess will
be enough for her but she treats everyone the same, this angers him. Throughout the poem the Duke
says that he does not have skill in speech which from the poem we can see is false. When discussing
his lack of skill he says which I have not , This shows the power in words and ultimately how he
couldn t stop her with his words because he would have to stoop he used a different way to fix his
problem. Also, he says I choose never to stoop . The I choose shows hierarchy as he has the choice.
The use of the verb stoop is interesting as it means to directly to bend one s head, associating with the
lower class or submitting yourself. This also shows the Duke s commanding nature as he refuses to
stoop he

Pennies And Dimes Lab Report
Discussion
As presented in Table 1, only pennies were used in this part of the experiment. 8 pennies were added
to the cup at each interval, and in response to the addition, the force consistently increased by 0.20 N.
This demonstrated an upward trending linear relationship, as can be seen in Figure 1. The slope, or m,
represents the weight of a penny, which, is shown in Figure 1 as 0.025 N. The x values represent the
independent variable, which is the # of pennies, while the y values represent the dependent variable,
force (N). Slope can be represented as the change in the force (N) divided by the change in the # of
coins. The value for slope in this data set represents the force per coin. The y intercept value (b) is 0,
which is the y value ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Initially, 1 dime was added to the cup, followed by the addition of 1 penny, then 1 nickel, and finally 1
quarter. The idea was to add the coins in order from the lightest coin in weight (dime) to the heaviest
(quarter) in order to get an upward trend line. When 1 dime was added to the cup, the force was 0.03
N, however, when a penny was added to the cup, the force was increased to a total of 0.05 N. This
represented only a 0.02 N change when the penny was added. This information is inferring that a dime
weighs more than a penny, however, this is not true. An error that may have occurred could be that the
penny was added before the dime was added. Therefore, the penny would have weighed 0.3 N and the
dime would have weighed 0.2 N. However, the information in Table 3 does demonstrate that the
nickel weighs less than the quarter, but more than the penny and dime, giving an upward trend line.
The slope of the line passing through points (1,0.03) and (4,0.2) is 0.056 N. Therefore, 0.056 N is the
average weight of the coins. The x values represent the # of coins, the y values represent the force (N),
and the y intercept value is 0. Initially, a linear graph was generated for Figure 3, however, the trend
line did not pass through each point on the graph and the R2 value was .82. Therefore, a polynomial
trend line was incorporated into the graph, as seen in Figure 3. The

Respiratory Syncytial Virus Research Paper
Respiratory syncytial virus, also known as RSV, is most commonly prevalent and severe in children
under the age of two years old. However, it can and does effect adults because of it being highly
contagious and easy transmit ability. RSV causes infections of the lungs and respiratory tract. Due to
the fact that respiratory syncytial virus can cause severe problems for children or adults, caution has to
be taken to notice the possible signs and symptoms associated with the virus. Therefore, this paper
will discuss the treatment, prevention, ethical issues, research, advancements, etc. associated with
RSV. By analyzing RSV, its effects, and how it can be diagnosed then actions can be taken to decrease
RSV negative effects. An important step ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For children infected with RSV and treated from home fever control and adequate fluid intake are the
anchor of treatment. Those hospitalized, similar steps are taken, hydration is required. Also, a careful
clinical assessment of respiratory status is done, including oxygen saturation, administration of
supplemental oxygen as needed; suctioning of the upper airway; as well as intubation and mechanical
ventilation when necessary (Todd, 2010). And in physicians offices breathing treatment are utilized to
help clear the air passageway. The most known treatment for severe cases is the use of the antiviral
FDA approved agent, Ribavirin. Ribavirin treats severe lung infections caused by RSV. Ribavirin,
when used for RSV, is usually given by oral inhalation or a nebulizer that has an attached oxygen
hood, oxygen tent, or face mask. A physician will prescribe the medication and inform the patient of
the dosage and usage (NCBI, 2016). On July 28, 2014, American Academy of Pediatrics supplied an
updated guideline for the use of palivizumab prophylaxis among infants and youth who have an
increased risk of hospitalization caused from the RSV infection (Prevention, 2015). Additionally, a
doctor may suggest an injection of epinephrine or a form of epinephrine that can be inspired through a
nebulizer (Clinic, 2014). For further information concerning these treatments visit Synagis or the

Qumran Community
Theology of the Qumran Community The discovery of the Dead Sea Scroll was an important impact
in history. It is known to be the oldest manuscripts dating back between 200 BCE and 70 BCE, with
some small portion of the texts dating back to the 3rd century BCE, and some extant material dating to
the first century BCE. The scrolls consist of 900 manuscripts that were written in Hebrew, Greek, and
Aramaic and were discovered in eleven caves outside of the Judean desert. The manuscripts are either
biblical or non biblical and it includes many subjects and literary styles as well as significance

The Qumran community looked into the end of days through prophetic scriptures. The notion of the
end of days is the common belief of experiencing judgment and salvation. According to Vanderkam
Flint, it has a positive and negative side (pg. 264). In the negative side, the end of days will involve a
period of trails where the forces of Belial redouble their efforts to defeat the ranks of the righteous
(4Q174) In the positive side, for those who are chosen, it will be a time of purifying. Another crucial
information to know about the Qumran s view of the end of days is the meeting of messianic
characters in the scrolls. These are found in the Shoot of David and the Interpreter of the Law, where
they talk about two messiahs. One was to be the messiah of Aaron, a priestly messiah, while the other
was to be the messiah of Israel, a royal messiah of Davidic descent. (Lesson, week #6). The Qumran
community believed that in the end of days, God will interfere and will send leaders of the future that

there are various models out there many claiming greater stealth or high speed capacity, we

A Report On Flight Training
Abstract
Flight Training Devices or commonly known as simulators, are frequently used in military aviator
training and is an important training tool for safely teaching flying skills in a controlled environment
that is normally too dangerous, or costly to acquire through the use of an actual aircraft. The U.S. Air
Force and Army typically use simulators to safely train new Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)
operators on critical tasks performed for proficiency and certification without the use of costly flyable
aviation resources. Research has discovered there is a lack of conventional standardized training for
any of the armed services, but an inter service roadmap is planned for combining future training
programs. The researcher will analyze multiple military and civilian aeronautical based articles on the
subjects of simulator use for operator training including Army and Air Force future requirements for
UAVs, and applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. Findings will be clear
regarding the need for cost saving initiatives and standardized UAV training, including the
implications of new FAA regulations. Research will also delve into the fact that inconsistent operator
training is a problem for incorporating different types of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) into the
National Airspace (NAS). It is also determined that future military training will be affected by FAA
research and findings on this subject. Finally, the results will reveal the need for

The Value of a Liberal Education
In today s society we view education as many things, but among the many views and opinions of
education there are two major views we see that stand out, education is a right for all and education is
necessary only for finding a successful career. To be more exact, it is a college education that is or
should be available to all and is only necessary for securing a successful job. But before we even
begin to think about a job or whether we want to pursue our God given right to higher education we
must first start our journey at the bottom of the educational system. In our lives we all start our
journey through education in the same place, the bottom of the educational system. For some this can
mean something along the lines such as pre school, private tutoring, or home schooling. We eventually
work our way up going through kindergarten, elementary school, junior high, and then eventually high
school. After high school we are than left two choices, enter directly into the work force, or pursue a
higher education. Say we chose to pursue a higher education and go to college; we then have to make
another decision, do I want go directly into a certain profession and pursue a degree for that career, or
do I want expand my virtues and pursue a liberal education. For now, let us delve into the subject that
is a liberal education. The beginning of liberal education spans as far back as to the time of the great
Greek philosophers like Aristotle and Plato, as Chuck E. Taylor describes in

The Epic Of Gilgamesh As A Hero In Mesopotamian Society
The epic of Gilgamesh is a story of an ambitious epic hero who influenced historical scene and huge
cultural differences in Mesopotamian society. Gilgamesh story implicates a sequence of religious and
adventure victories of the century. The story tells a long live life of a brutal warrior and affective kings
of different surrounding dominion. Gilgamesh was half human and one third god, a combination that
made him great humanitarian as well as greatest among the combatants. He was one the greatest with
superhuman strength and was also proud preserved the wisdom of his people. The story is about
showing God giving strength while searching for the meaning of life. Eventually, I don t think
Gilgamesh would be considered as a hero in today society because of spiritual characters and
behaviors. He took an adventure to pursue his own desire and find out the secret life of immortality.
Gilgamesh was a true hero because he was the strongest, caring and the wisest in Mesopotamian
society. In the vast great mounting surrounded by secret huge Cedar Forest was the home of a giant
creature called Humbaba. This creature wasn t afraid of anything and he would instantly kill anything
that will come on his territory. Anybody who lived in the surrounding was scared of being attacked in
everyday life. The giant refused to allow anyone to walk through the Cedar Forest without his
approval. People who lived in Urok kingdom were all in danger and fear; they decided to bring the

Impact Of Trauma
Assessing the Impact of Trauma
Almost weekly, we are faced hear of a large scale crisis, as well as a low scale. The impact that these
traumatic events are having on children cannot be ignored. It is becoming apparent of the ongoing
need of addressing crises, trauma, and the effects on children. The need for crisis intervention
services; especially for children is necessary. However, not every child who has experienced trauma
needs a trauma focused treatment. As such there are some traumatic experiences that indicate the need
for an immediate referral (Myer, Peterson, Willow 2002). For the counselor, it is important to
understand the meaning of the event for the child and from there to develop and intervention plan with
the goal of helping

Writing In A Social-Media Related Context
The following text addresses my personal view about writing in a social media related context.
Since my early days as a student, things have changed a lot; from the mostly handwritten way of
writing, being attentive to good calligraphy, and paper neatness, to using typewriters to have more
consistent and presentable results. Then, there was the time of the early computer word processors
that, nevertheless, brought new resources to the average writer. Writing was mostly an individual
experience, generally limited to essays, term papers and interpersonal correspondence, but that has
changed a lot since the advent of the internet.
The use of electronic mail, website commenting, and blogging is here to stay as a form that many

Economic Factors In The 17th Century And The Dutch East...
In the 16 and 17th century, and the Dutch East India Company (VOC) was very profitable and a large
employer. They were also the world s largest commercial entity in the 17th and 18th century, which
employed approximately 30,000 people. They carried goods and slaves across the Atlantic Ocean. One
of the major historical significances of VOC is that they were the first country to build an entire
empire of trading in numerous countries. Their willingness to find the sailing routes, turned out to be a
great success, which opened a tremendous amount of opportunity for them to trade, and VOC
strategically took complete advantage of the opportunities. As with everything in history, the results of
the Dutch East India Company are both good and bad. Investors formed the first corporation with the
joint venture stock company in 1602. They combined assets to gain power, and they had a monopoly
to trade with the Indies Asia and the Indian Ocean. Their motive was profit; they fixed prices. The
Dutch East India Company s had an immoral side as they could get countries to trade goods against
their will with either by persuasion or violence. The VOC was lawless and protected and built up its
monopoly. Dutch financial power is still powerful today. The economic philosophy of mercantilism
grew and presumed the world s wealth was fixed, it didn t matter that one county could suffer
economically at the expense of another (Pollard, pg.xxxxx).

How Did Leonardo Da Vinci Was Crucial For The Renaissance
Culture
1. Use specific examples to explain why the work of Leonardo da Vinci was crucial for the
development of Renaissance.
When we consider the term Renaissance it speaks about the revitalizing of the European art and
literature which represents the culture. This is done through influencing classical models during the
period of 14th 16th century.

Research Paper On Why Dogs Are Better Than Cats
Why Dogs Make Better Pets Than Cats. Dogs and cats are most pets that are seen with their owner.
These two animals make good pets to have. Dogs are physical and fun animals that runs with a flock
of their inheritance. Cats are feminine and spoil animals that like to have its way. When it comes down
to choose the better pet, dogs are better pets than cats. Some pet owners think dog and cat food the
same. Dogs have better food to eat because the type of dogs I like can eat some of the same food as I.

Science Fiction in The Chrysalids
What will happen in the future? In The Chrysalids, John Wyndham incorporates various science
fiction elements into the novel to prove that the work is a science fiction production. In the novel,
there are different political and social systems. Additionally, various forms of mutations are evident.
Furthermore, many specifics show that the society is dystopian in The Chrysalids. Based on various
details from the book, it is obvious that The Chrysalids is a science fiction novel that warns humans on
the consequences of nuclear war.
One aspect that demonstrates science fiction in The Chrysalids is the different forms of mutations. To
begin with, many forms of human mutations are evident in the novel. After David ponders on parts of
the bible that describes the correct image of humans, he thinks to himself, I knew it all, word for word
and yet the sight of Sophie s six toes stirred nothing in my memory (Wyndham 11). Sophie is born
with six toes on each feet, which is a physical difference that her parents did not possess.
Correspondingly, the mutation of nature is also presented in the novel. When Uncle Axel describes the
rest of the world to David, he says, The whole seaboard is empty black and harsh and empty. The land
behind looks like a huge desert of charcoal (Wyndham 60). The Badlands are deserted and inhabitable
as a result of the tribulation. Also, the mutation of judgment is displayed in the novel. When Aunt
Harriet asks David s mother to exchange children,

North Tower Of The World Trade Center
On September 11, 2001, at 8:45 AM, Eastern Time, American Airlines flight 111, headed from Boston
smashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center in New York. An hour later, a second plane
crashed into the south tower at 550 miles an hour. The south tower only lasted 56 minutes, collapsing
straight down, killing thousands of people, and creating a dust cloud that sent people scurrying for
cover in the streets below. The north tower didn t last much longer, also collapsing straight down,
setting surrounding buildings ablaze with it. A third plane hit the pentagon, and a fourth plane,
destined for the white house, was retaken by passengers and crashed in a field in northern
Pennsylvania. Over 3,000 people lost their lives in a single day, making the 9/11 attacks the most
deadly terrorist action in history. America, needless to say, was hurt, and enraged. On September 20,
2001, President George W. Bush declared war on terrorism in a speech to congress, saying, after
listing demands to the Taliban, If you do not hand over the terrorists, you will share in their fate. This
began a decades long fight against terrorism in the Middle East. Since 2001, Al Qaeda, the terrorist
group who carried out the 9/11 attacks has been all but vanquished. However, Al Qaeda was by no

The Emergency Department At Saint Vincent s Medical Center
Introduction Every day in the United States there are 136.3 million people that visit the emergency
department (CDC, 2015). To put this number into perspective that is 44.5 people per 100 persons
(CDC, 2015). 11.9% of these visits result in hospital admission leaving 88.1% of visits to be
discharged home with or without caregiver assistance or to another healthcare facility (CDC, 2015).
While high numbers of patients being discharged is desirable, it is important to consider that In one
out of every 30 discharges things get missed. [For example] patients [are] sent home who didn t know
how to use their insulin or they got the wrong prescription (Maguire, 2011). Another important
statistic to recognize is that Ninety million Americans have difficulty understanding their own medical
care (McCarthy et al., 2012). Similar adverse events and misunderstandings of medical care have been
occurring in the emergency department at Saint Vincent s Medical Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut a
60 bed emergency department with a fast track zone that is classified as a level one trauma center. The
nurse manager of the emergency department at Saint Vincent s stated that many patients were not
being adequately educated during discharge. She placed most of the blame on the nurses as it is the
nurse s responsibility to be educating and providing all patients with clear and concise discharge

Peter Pan Uncovered After reading Peter Pan, any well minded person will acknowledge that Peter is

does he have weight. All physical things can be touched have, weight and are real and are not
produced by the mind. Peter is not normal, he is special and needs explaining. In the story it clearly
states that Peter is not to be touched.Obviously, if you are real you can be touched, and Peter can t be

The Decriminalization Of Prostitution And Sex Work In Canada
One of the world s oldest professions is still a prevalent topic in Canadian law today (Ruddell 2017,
13 14). Prostitution and sex work have been topics of debate in society for decades. By definition,
prostitution and sex work involve the exchange of sexual activity for some form of payment, most
often money. In December 2013, the Supreme Court of Canada decriminalized prostitution, making it
legal, in order to reduce the victimization of sex workers (Ruddell 2017, 13 14). Although the act of
prostitution is now legal in Canada, many other laws criminalize activities involved in prostitution that
are often necessary for the safety of the workers (Ruddell 2017, 13 14). The current laws pertaining
prostitution and the sex work industry in Canada further amplify the stigma that those working in
related industries are a nuisance to society and do not consider the health, safety, or overall well being
of such people. In order to make lasting social change, we must continue to evaluate current laws
pertaining prostitution. By examining the implications of public opinion and views on prostitution, we
can create a better idea of how to move forward with new legislation. Obtaining a better understanding
on the effects our current laws have on the sex workers and their industries will allow us to make more
efficient and meaningful change. In order to make lasting social change, we must defeat the stigma
surrounding sex work, better understand public opinion and knowledge, and begin

Command And Control And Integration Of Joint Functions...
This paper provides an evaluation of the command and control and integration of joint functions
associated with the invasion of Sicily, known as Operation HUSKY. The Allies achieved a positive
outcome despite the fact that key leaders demonstrated ineffective command and control capabilities
and poor integration. The paper will first evaluate the joint function of command and control, using
the three attributes of mission command from joint doctrine: commander s intent, mutual trust, and
understanding. An evaluation of the integration of intelligence and fires joint functions at the
Operational level will follow.
On 9 JUL 1943, the Allies initiated Operation Husky, one of the most significant combined operations
of World War II (Birtle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On multiple occasions, Patton used the ambiguity of the commander s intent to pursue his personal
goals (Ibid, 17).
The next attribute of mission command for consideration is trust. Once commanders communicate
their intent, they must trust their subordinates at every echelon to carry out that intent with responsible
initiative under all conditions (Mission Command White Paper, 3 April 2012, 6). Building trust among
all echelons and partners is one of the most important actions a commander can perform (Ibid.). The
lack of trust was a constant and pervasive issue for the Allies during Operation HUSKEY. General
Alexander s mistrust of the Americans, fueled partly by the antagonistic actions of Montgomery and
Patton, started a grudge between that Americans and the British for the remainder of the War (Prescott
1994, 10).
The final attribute of mission command for consideration is understanding. Understanding prepares
leaders at all echelons with the vision and far sightedness that is essential to make operative choices,
manage risks, and consider second and third order effects (Mission Command White Paper, 3 April
2012, 5). Leaders who possess understanding have the mental capacity to grasp and appreciate any
state of affairs which facilitates their capacity to make autonomous decisions. Conversely, leaders who
lack understanding put their troops or others at risk.

Exploring Psychology
Memory is a constructive and dynamic system rather than a passive mechanism for recording external
information. Evaluate this claim, making reference to research findings.
The concept that the memory is a constructive and dynamic system was originally introduced by Sir
Frederic Bartlett, in the 1920 s. According to Bartlett, social factors influence one s ability to
remember, and in turn, can either change a person s perception of a specific memory or distort the
original memory. As opposed to the memory being a passive mechanism which indicates that the brain
can store data and facts which can later be recalled without distortion and remain as they were when
they were first encoded.

Cognitive interview skills have been invented to combat such a constructive and dynamic system
which our memory is built on. These theories are called context reinstatement , which is a technique
used that puts a person s thoughts back to their physical surroundings so that these senses can
stimulate certain memories. Recalling everything , is a technique that encourages a person to
remember every detail of an event, whether they believe it to be relevant or not which, in turn, can
lead to the retrieval of important and factual information. Recalling in different temporal orders , uses
the technique of reversal retrieval. This method asks a person to remember the events in reverse order
which puts more emphasis on remembering the facts, as this is not a natural way of thinking it forces
information to be recalled. Finally, the last method is called changing perspective which asks a person
to recall the events from a different perspective other than their own. This encourages them to think in
more detail and again encourages more information to be retrieved (Brace, 2007, p126).
All these exercises have been created to help stimulate the brain into remembering and all work on the
basis that for our memories to be retrieved it is essential that we relate past experiences to specific
events. Without this stimulus our mind would not be able to retrieve memories that have been stored

The Russia s Military Reforms
Absolute monarchy meant that the ultimate authority to run a state was in the hands of a king who
ruled. An absolute monarch holds unrestricted political power over the country and its people. Peter
the Great of Russia, the greatest and most controversial of the Russian Czars, was responsible for the
country s emergence as a great power. Peter the Great pacified nobility, created a standing army, and
increased the county s revenue. Peter the Great kept his nobles under control by giving them jobs in
the military and civil offices. The Russian army was then both enlarged and professionalized by Peter
the Great. Peter the great also increased the country s revenue by increasing taxes and by promoting
trade. Many of his reform s help him centralize more political power. Centralization becomes
important to an absolute monarch and Peter the Great knew just how to do it. Peter the Great s military

of the best reform movements that Peter the Great has ever done. His new army centralized more
power for him; therefore, helping him control over his people and the nobility. The Russian army was

The Economic Reforms Of Argentina Essay
In December 2015, Argentina s newly elected Cambiemos party (Lets Change) announced it planned
on lifting all restrictions on capital flows, allowing practically unlimited access to foreign currency in
a process intended to push the peso s value to float towards its true market value. The move to
liberalize capital flows was a desperate attempt to increase exports and spur economic growth in an
economy that has been battling low foreign reserves and double digit inflation for the past several
years. The free market candidate, Mauricio Macri, was determined to restore investor confidence in
Argentina, utterly destroyed by its 2002 record default, a lack of transparency in its economic
institutions, and heavy state intervention. With the backing of big business, both domestic and foreign,
Macri was able to mobilize a dissatisfied middle class tired of the leftist protectionism of the past
decade. The economic reforms came at a time of extreme political polarization and civil unrest in
Argentina. The Peronist candidate, Daniel Scioli, lost by a very slim margin, leaving the opposition
eager to utilize any economic setbacks as political ammunition. For many Argentines, Macri s
neoliberal plans sound awfully reminiscent of the disastrous policies implemented by Carlos Menem
in the 1990s. Given the population s low tolerance for austerity measures and a ferocious opposition
watching every move, Macri s must walk a tight line if he is to successfully tackle Argentina s

Compulsive or obsessive are broad terms. Questions like do you feel anxious? Do you repeat your
actions?
Empirical
Divergent/ Discriminant validity is a measurement of a construct if the item does not correlate with
measure of the construct, which is almost never done. Example would be a test of obsessive by
measuring a person s reaction to a question on their favorite colour.
Convergent validity is a measure as a construct to the extent that the item correlates with what it
should correlate if it is a measure of the construct, usually by Pearson correlation. Measure can be
positive or negatively correlated. For example, how many times do you knock on a door positively
correlating to compulsive to how many times you quietly meditate being negatively correlated.
5) Imputation (missing values).
Deductive is the first method typically used for missing values. This relies on data missing that was
overlooked but easily calculated or sometimes may be slight estimations. For example, knowing that
highest level of education is college, they left completed high school blank could be answered from

Boeing to break their privacy and work with a group of people across geographical boundaries. 35%
of the plane s structure was supplied from Japan. Approximately, 26% of the products were supplied
from Italy. There were teams of 15 companies responsible for the structure of the plane, 10 teams from
USA and the rest from seven other countries. A lot of the other products were also ordered from
different parts of the world, including the vertical fin from Frederickson as well as the fixed and
movable leading edges of the wing from Tulsa. Once all the parts were built, they were sent back to
USA for the assembly. Also, 787 would be the first aircraft of its kind to bring long range capabilities
to a midsized airplane. It was also the first time Boeing had its structural suppliers fund their own
research and development so that suppliers had a greater

Social Cohesion And Its Effects On Society
Individuals create friendships, bonds, and relationships in society to strengthen not only that
individual s social cohesion, but the social cohesion of the collective community. Social cohesion is
used to maintain the structure and integrity of a society. There are many aspects of society which draw
individuals and groups, either closer, or further away from other individuals or groups. However,
many times social cohesion depends heavily on the act of inclusion and exclusion of certain
individuals from a given society or community. Exclusion or inclusion depends greatly on financial
status and resources an individual has. In recent years researchers have seen variant decreases in social
cohesion, and have seen governments take action in order to prevent the downfall. In general, social
cohesion is created through means of communication amongst a society, along with the relationships,
connections, and bonds formed within the society (Berger Schmitt, 2002, p. 405). However, it goes
much deeper than just purely relations formed within communities, social cohesion in itself has a lot
to do with economic status and the ability to obtain and access resources required to be able to partake
in society and maintain subjective well being (Klein, 2011, p. 900). Examples of resources that may
strengthen social cohesion are; access to improved healthcare or education, access to community
centres, parks, public events, and employment. Access to proper resources can bring communities

Clorox Industry Analysis
The Phases of Industry
When you take a moment to ponder, how many companies can you think of have survived for over a
century? Very few have managed to stay in business for ten, twenty, or even fifty years. Most
importantly, how many have made a significant difference. The Clorox Company has earned
customers respect and trust since 1913. Clorox is best known for its namesake bleach, but there is a
significant chance you ve to have a lot more than just one Clorox product in your house. Clorox
mission is building lifelong customer loyalty through marketing and superior performance of its
products. Therefore part of the Clorox growth strategy is to enter into growing markets that are
consistent with customers and acquire those buseinss that have the right trends. The purpose of this
paper is three fold: it will identify and define the characteristics of the Abernathy and Utterback three
phases of innovation of Clorox and look at the products while reviewing the competition and overall
state of the industry. The second is to determine the different innovations in the history of Clorox. The
third is to look at the current dominate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to MIT professor, James Utterback defined three phases of innovation, Fluid, Transitional
and Specific Phases. In summary, the Fluid Phase consists of new products and services to the market.
Over time, the Fluid phase will be a consolidation design around a dominant design in the market. The
Transitional phase, in summary, includes once a dominant design is defined, the product changes out
of the innovation phase and starts the phase of process innovation. Optimization and cost reductions
will be key in the phase. The last phase is called the Specific phase. In summary, the Specific phase
includes a reduction of the number of companies in the market and innovation is focused on cost
reduction and to improve

How Does Harry Tttle Use Dark Humor In Brazil
Dr. Strangelove and Brazil both portray the future, while also adding humor to the plot. These movies
are futuristic, but more like dystopia movies in my opinion. These movies use dark humor to get their
point across. Dark humor is a delicate balancing act expertly courting elements of comedy and woe
(Robinson). Brazil is a futuristic bureaucracy. The government is fighting against a group of terrorist,
who frequently bomb and terrorize the city state. In the beginning of the movie, a fly gets into a tele
printer and changes up the last name of Harry Tuttle to Harry Buttle. Harry Tuttle is a handyman who
illegally works on air condition units. While setting up Christmas decorations with his family, Harry
Buttle is arrested instead of Tuttle. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

his mom, who now looks younger and similar to Jill surrounded by a group of juvenile lovers. She
refuses to help Sam and pretends not to be his mother. Sam ends up falling into Mrs. Terrain

and brick walls that were in his dream. Sam soon finds himself surrounded by police and the
imaginary monster in his dreams. His only way escaping is by climbing up old flex ducts as those
running the world of Brazil (IMDB). He finds Jill driving a truck and trailer, and they leave the city

revealed all of Sam s events since his arrest, including his happy ending, was all in Sam s head. In the

Narrative Guatemala
Melissa, don t you want to experience a whole new culture? Guatemala has one of the most beautiful
resorts in the world hell, you can even the stars in the sky unlike here! my step dad exclaimed, his
hands gliding in the air in excitement.
I sat on the couch across him and my mom, who looked frail and small next to my burly and tall
stepdad. She was looking at her lap, her hands neatly folded on top. I sighed, shaking my head. I don t
want to. I protested.
His smile faltered a bit. Your siblings are going to miss you.
My chest tightened with grief as I thought about them yes, I d miss them too. But Guatemala was not
my home; I knew nothing of my parents home country other than the poverty and disease that plagued
the citizens. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I could hear her steady heartbeats, her quiet breaths, her words starting to replay in my mind: I get to
stay. They weren t going to stay. They were going to leave without me.
I closed my eyes, tears stinging behind my eyes as I silently begged time to freeze and keep me in my
mom s embrace forever.
A few weeks afterwards, I was left with my dad and his wife in the vibrant city of Falls Church, VA.
Their parenting style was different to my mother s, more strict and serious. It was a sudden change to
my free spirited self and as a result, I was diagnosed with major depression and severe anxiety a year
later. I don t blame them for it, but I often relish on one question: would have I been like this if I had
gone with my mother?
Probably not. But then again, I wouldn t have the open mind that I have today. Considering my mom s
religious views, I wasn t exactly the nicest person to come across to. But my dad taught me to be
accepting, to forgive, to be selfless from donating a couple of bucks for a charity to teaching me to
accept identities that violated the Bible, I became the girl I am today caring, honest, and

Georgia Observation Essay
During the break I visited Kennesaw Mountain National Battle Field Park where I learned more about
the history of Georgia, more specifically of Kennesaw, Georgia. This site pertained information about
the Civil War and the two major battles that occurred in this area, which are the Chickamauga and
Ringgold Gap during 1864. The site offered a walk through Museum that was in chronological order
that broke down the series of events that lead to war and other mishaps along the way. They also
offered a 30 minute video clip describing what happened between the southerners and the confederates
and the beginning of the Atlanta Campaign. I enjoyed walking the Museum, looking at the pictures
and displays they provided for visitors to look at. I also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
the most popular beliefs are words from two of the war s songs, The Battle Cry of Freedom and The
Bonnie Blue Flag. These two songs make it clear that both sides believe they are fighting for the same
thing for Liberty. The Center of the South was the Georgia s War Industries, and this place is to the
Confederacy almost as important as the heart is to the human body. We must hold it (Governor Joseph
E. Brown). They dealt with railroads, arms and ammunition (military purposes), textiles (clothing,
etc), and agriculture which during the time Georgia harvested a record of 701,840 bales of cotton
worth more than $25,000,000. During the war there was an increase in the production on food crops.
Sherman wanted to rebuild, replace, supply, forage, plunder, pioneer, field, and signal in order to keep
his army moving. The Atlanta Campaign was a series of battles fought in the Western Theater of the
American Civil War throughout northwest Georgia and the area around Atlanta during the summer of
1864. Union Major general William T. Sherman invaded Georgia near the area of Chattanooga,
Tennessee, beginning in May 1864, against the Confederate general Joseph E. Johnston. Johnston s
Army of Tennessee took fourth toward Atlanta with Sherman s large group of armies. In July, the
Confederate president, Jefferson Davis, replaced Johnston with John Bell Hood, who threatened the
Union Army with frontal assaults. Finally Hood s army was surrender in Atlanta and the city fell on
September 2, setting the stage for Sherman s march to success and the end of the

The Reality Of Television Series
We live in a century where most all the things are normal in today s day, or maybe that is the way I see
things. I was born in the 90 s, where most of the children didn t have a cellphone, instead they had
bicycles, dirt and not stress at all. There were good times back then. Today we have smart phones,
laptops, tablets, and of course we have Netflix, a global provider of streaming movies and TV series. I
have to mention that there is one TV show in particular that has captivated my eyes, its name; The
Walking Dead . Maybe the title of this American horror drama television series sounds a little
mysterious and scary, first of all, because the serious shows a world overrun by zombies, but besides
that, I have learned a lot from this TV show. One of the first things that I want to mention is that I like
this TV show not because it has a lot of suspense and special effects, but for the way it can easily be
related to this world. The Walking Dead is about a sheriff who awakens from a long comma to
confront a new world full of zombies that he never could imagine he would live. He reunites with his
family and becomes the leader of a group he forms with other survivors. Together they struggle to
survive in and adapt to a world filled with zombies and some humans who are even more dangerous
than the zombies themselves, but, why I relate this series with our world? We don t kill zombies, or
have guns. I think each of us has different expectation and I am sure that

Illegal Drug Abuse And Drugs
Illegal Drug Abuse
For quite a long time, different types of drugs have been used across the globe. Indeed, the different
drugs have been observed to impose varying impacts on users. While some of the drugs are curative
and positive in usage, others are remarkably detrimental and can facilitate the mental and
psychological breakdown of the user and their families. In this respect, many of the detrimental drugs
have been illegalized in many parts of the world. In the United States, for instance, cocaine, cannabis
and amphetamines remain prohibited in attempt to curb their usage. Based on statistics United Nations
Office on Drugs and Crime, however, the motive of the prohibition is hardly being realized. Illicit use
of the drugs has been observed to be on the rise across the globe, with an estimated 230 million people
purported to have engaged in illegal drug use at some stage in their life (Narconon 3). Worryingly,
most of the users happen to be the youthful generations. To this end, this article discusses the various
challenges faced by the families of illicit abusers of illegalized drugs.
To begin with, illicit drug abuse has been implicated in disintegration of many families (Visser 1).
Notably, the addicts are often restless and violent. As such, they are hardly able to engage other family
members in constructive discussions. Moreover, the addicts are hardly able to contribute to the
economic stability of the family. In cases where the addicts are employed, most of their

Reflective Essay On Greek Culture
My experience attending the Seminar on Greece with Dr. Khosrowshahi was a very interesting, fun
and informational way to gain knowledge of the different cultures and history of other parts of the
world. I do not have an extensive knowledge of Greek history or culture. I enjoyed learning the
different traditions and cultural rituals of the Greek culture. I learned a lot about the history of Greece
and how much the history influences many other cultures throughout the world. The most interesting
fact and important impression I took away from the seminar is my Mother s name is Diane , neither
my mother or myself knew the Greek history behind her name. I enjoyed how Dr. K used different
ways to involve the students at the seminar to become engaged in learning and experiencing Greek
culture. I found the drum performance quite exciting and interesting. Also, the young ladies
demonstrating their cultural dance skills were very entertaining. After learning more about Greek
culture, I found it very interesting how much the alphabet and language influences American English.
The part of the seminar I enjoyed most was Dr. K demonstrating his knowledge of Greek music by
demonstrating the drum. I enjoyed many other aspects of the seminar as well. I enjoyed the visuals,
including the pictures and videos used to provide a visual experience of Greek culture. The Greek
culture artifacts and photos from previous trips to Greece was inspiring and exciting to experience as
well. Also, student interaction was impressive throughout the entire seminar. There is not anything I
disliked about the seminar. The only thing I did not like was having to take off work to attend. This is
not anything involving the seminar or the presentation. Furthermore, I am thankful I was able to have
the opportunity to take off work to attend this continuing education experience.
Prior to this seminar, I was not aware of the extensive history of the Olympic Games. It was
interesting to learn the Olympics originated before Christ. Also, the Olympics truly represent the
uniting of different cultures, religions and races. This is a very inspirational and motivating experience
considering the current division of cultures. When

The Role Of Dystopia In Ray Bradbury s Farenheit 451 Dystopia ussually refers to a community or society, ussually fictional, that is in some important way, undesiarable or frightning. In this case both farenhight 451, and our beloved modern world can both be seen as dystopias.Although some may be blind to the eye, when taking our world in consideration as one due to the factors that make it appeal otherwise,it unfortuanetly shares the same key points as the ones in farenhight 451 that make it one. This is shown throughout the whole book,Farenheight 415, by ray bradbury, laying out detail by detail about how a dystopian society lives their everyday life and the conflicts that arrise within it in this fictional story. Hoping that people in our modern society ,can point out a few dystopian flaws in ours as well. For example in 451,they ban literature books, while our society prohibits them from certain age groups. He was a mastermind of inventions and innovations. He alone created alternating currents and generators, a way to freely transmit electricity, and an idea of free wireless energy for all. If Tesla had more of a chance to finish his crowning achievement it everyone could have free wireless energy. Nikola Tesla was born on July 9, 1856, in Croatia under a thunderstorm. Outline the current legislation for home based childcare Produce an information sheet which clearly outlines the current legislation for home based childcare More than ever, Child protection is a topical issue. That s why many years ago the British government, aware of the fragility and vulnerability of children to adults, has implemented a number of laws relating to children and young people in the UK. These laws are made to define the inherent right of children, and also to define the implication of their rights for all those responsible of or using any childhood services; but more specifically what we will see through the legislation concerning the rights of children, is how they may impact the work of childcarers, how they can ... The Childcare Act 2006: This Act which is born from parent s needs has a specific impact on childcarer s practice, but not only, as course handout 1a (2012, p2) confirms This Act is for all those who are responsible for planning, running and using early childhood services . The Childcare Act 2006 which is about duties on local authorities, regulation and inspection for childcare providers in England and other general provisions, could undoubtedly be an excellent foundation for a good quality service for young children. As we can see the impact is quite direct because is this law who ensures regulation and inspection for childcare provider in England, that way the local authorities can secure a sufficient childcare for those parents who need it. But on the other hand The Childcare Act is also about duties, including The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) that should improve quality. What is the EYFS? And what does it implies? Old professors teaching boring material that does not relate to what you want to be doing with your time. In Walt Whitman s poem, When I Heard the Learn d Astronomer, Whitman s character is describing just that. The character leaves a lecture and is one within nature. The character uses past tense throughout the entire poem. I believe that this poem is someone reflecting on a moment in life where they made a choice between knowledge and true happiness. These two sections were most likely deposited within a marine shelf, perhaps below the storm water wave base (notebook page 33). The Quinnanie, displaying no trace fossils or bioturbation and generally massive in structure may suggest that it was deposited at greater depths than the Wandagee Formation or it may suggest a cycle of shallowing and deepening waters, due to tidal influences. The Quinnanie representing deepened waters. Its more organic make up may also indicate that it was deposited at greater depths than the Wandagee. The Wandagee Formation contains a vast number of structures that indicate a shallower environment than the Quinnanie. Whilst still being deposited below the storm water wave base, it may be possible that it was deposited during a shallowing oscillation. Trace fossils that were burrowing indicate shallower waters, the stratigraphic log demonstrates these relationships, figure 22). 5.7 Petroleum Potential Quinnanie Shale is suggested to be a source rock, it has fair levels of organics, but has low generating potential, and is most likely more gas prone. The first system of federalism is dual federalism. Dual federalism is the state government has their own responsibilities and the national government has their own responsibilities. Dual federalism was mainly based around the Tenth Amendment which states that anything that isn t in the Constitution are reserved to the states. It is kind of like a tug of war, the state governments are on one side and the federal government on the other. The rope is pulled back and forth, and at one time one side sees to be winning, but then the rope gets pulled back to the other side. In the dual federalism, each government ... New federalism gave the states some power while knowing that the federal government is the highest power. At this time, the state government regained some power. • 8. My Last Duchess Comparison Both London and My Last Duchess explore the ideas of power through social structures, hierarchy and synecdoche. In London Blake presents the theme of power through a reportage. The narrator wanders through a chartered street and by the chartered Thames . This shows that in the narrator s eyes the streets are owned and even an aspect of nature such as the River Thames is in ownership of someone. These owners that Blake refers to is the state who are believed to have acquired so much power that they can own natural landmarks. Due to this power, the people in London wear metaphorical manacles that are mind forged which shows they have trapped themselves due to the pain and suffering the higher class has caused them. The narrator (Duke) who is of an upper class is having a conversation with an envoy when he mentions Will t please you sit and look at her? . This shows the Duke s commanding nature as he almost forces the envoy to look at his painting although he uses a question it is rhetorical (envoys do not reply) and it shows how the Duke has power. Also, the Duke s power is emphasized as he chooses who can see the painting since none puts by the curtain I have drawn . This gives him a sense of importance. Browning also writes she ranked my gift...with anybody s gift . This shows that the Duke believes that names and status hold importance, power even and he expects the name of Duchess will be enough for her but she treats everyone the same, this angers him. Throughout the poem the Duke says that he does not have skill in speech which from the poem we can see is false. When discussing his lack of skill he says which I have not , This shows the power in words and ultimately how he couldn t stop her with his words because he would have to stoop he used a different way to fix his problem. Also, he says I choose never to stoop . The I choose shows hierarchy as he has the choice. Pennies And Dimes Lab Report Discussion As presented in Table 1, only pennies were used in this part of the experiment. 8 pennies were added to the cup at each interval, and in response to the addition, the force consistently increased by 0.20 N. This demonstrated an upward trending linear relationship, as can be seen in Figure 1. The slope, or m, represents the weight of a penny, which, is shown in Figure 1 as 0.025 N. The x values represent the independent variable, which is the # of pennies, while the y values represent the dependent variable, force (N). Slope can be represented as the change in the force (N) divided by the change in the # of coins. The value for slope in this data set represents the force per coin. The y intercept value (b) is 0, which is the y value ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Initially, 1 dime was added to the cup, followed by the addition of 1 penny, then 1 nickel, and finally 1 quarter. The idea was to add the coins in order from the lightest coin in weight (dime) to the heaviest (quarter) in order to get an upward trend line. When 1 dime was added to the cup, the force was 0.03 N, however, when a penny was added to the cup, the force was increased to a total of 0.05 N. This represented only a 0.02 N change when the penny was added. This information is inferring that a dime weighs more than a penny, however, this is not true. An error that may have occurred could be that the penny was added before the dime was added. Therefore, the penny would have weighed 0.3 N and the dime would have weighed 0.2 N. However, the information in Table 3 does demonstrate that the nickel weighs less than the quarter, but more than the penny and dime, giving an upward trend line. The slope of the line passing through points (1,0.03) and (4,0.2) is 0.056 N. Therefore, 0.056 N is the average weight of the coins. The x values represent the # of coins, the y values represent the force (N), and the y intercept value is 0. The Qumran community looked into the end of days through prophetic scriptures. The notion of the end of days is the common belief of experiencing judgment and salvation. According to Vanderkam Flint, it has a positive and negative side (pg. 264). In the negative side, the end of days will involve a period of trails where the forces of Belial redouble their efforts to defeat the ranks of the righteous (4Q174) In the positive side, for those who are chosen, it will be a time of purifying. Another crucial information to know about the Qumran s view of the end of days is the meeting of messianic characters in the scrolls. These are found in the Shoot of David and the Interpreter of the Law, where they talk about two messiahs. One was to be the messiah of Aaron, a priestly messiah, while the other was to be the messiah of Israel, a royal messiah of Davidic descent. (Lesson, week #6). A Report On Flight Training Abstract Flight Training Devices or commonly known as simulators, are frequently used in military aviator training and is an important training tool for safely teaching flying skills in a controlled environment that is normally too dangerous, or costly to acquire through the use of an actual aircraft. The U.S. Air Force and Army typically use simulators to safely train new Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) operators on critical tasks performed for proficiency and certification without the use of costly flyable aviation resources. Research has discovered there is a lack of conventional standardized training for any of the armed services, but an inter service roadmap is planned for combining future training programs. The researcher will analyze multiple military and civilian aeronautical based articles on the subjects of simulator use for operator training including Army and Air Force future requirements for UAVs, and applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. Findings will be clear regarding the need for cost saving initiatives and standardized UAV training, including the implications of new FAA regulations. Research will also delve into the fact that inconsistent operator training is a problem for incorporating different types of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) into the National Airspace (NAS). It is also determined that future military training will be affected by FAA research and findings on this subject. Finally, the results will reveal the need for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Value of a Liberal Education In today s society we view education as many things, but among the many views and opinions of education there are two major views we see that stand out, education is a right for all and education is necessary only for finding a successful career. To be more exact, it is a college education that is or should be available to all and is only necessary for securing a successful job. But before we even begin to think about a job or whether we want to pursue our God given right to higher education we must first start our journey at the bottom of the educational system. In our lives we all start our journey through education in the same place, the bottom of the educational system. For some this can mean something along the lines such as pre school, private tutoring, or home schooling. We eventually work our way up going through kindergarten, elementary school, junior high, and then eventually high school. After high school we are than left two choices, enter directly into the work force, or pursue a higher education. Say we chose to pursue a higher education and go to college; we then have to make another decision, do I want go directly into a certain profession and pursue a degree for that career, or do I want expand my virtues and pursue a liberal education. For now, let us delve into the subject that is a liberal education. • 33. The Decriminalization Of Prostitution And Sex Work In Canada One of the world s oldest professions is still a prevalent topic in Canadian law today (Ruddell 2017, 13 14). Prostitution and sex work have been topics of debate in society for decades. By definition, prostitution and sex work involve the exchange of sexual activity for some form of payment, most often money. In December 2013, the Supreme Court of Canada decriminalized prostitution, making it legal, in order to reduce the victimization of sex workers (Ruddell 2017, 13 14). Although the act of prostitution is now legal in Canada, many other laws criminalize activities involved in prostitution that are often necessary for the safety of the workers (Ruddell 2017, 13 14). The current laws pertaining prostitution and the sex work industry in Canada further amplify the stigma that those working in related industries are a nuisance to society and do not consider the health, safety, or overall well being of such people. In order to make lasting social change, we must continue to evaluate current laws pertaining prostitution. By examining the implications of public opinion and views on prostitution, we can create a better idea of how to move forward with new legislation. On multiple occasions, Patton used the ambiguity of the commander s intent to pursue his personal goals (Ibid, 17). The next attribute of mission command for consideration is trust. Once commanders communicate their intent, they must trust their subordinates at every echelon to carry out that intent with responsible initiative under all conditions (Mission Command White Paper, 3 April 2012, 6). Building trust among all echelons and partners is one of the most important actions a commander can perform (Ibid.). The lack of trust was a constant and pervasive issue for the Allies during Operation HUSKEY. General Alexander s mistrust of the Americans, fueled partly by the antagonistic actions of Montgomery and Patton, started a grudge between that Americans and the British for the remainder of the War (Prescott 1994, 10). The final attribute of mission command for consideration is understanding. Understanding prepares leaders at all echelons with the vision and far sightedness that is essential to make operative choices, manage risks, and consider second and third order effects (Mission Command White Paper, 3 April 2012, 5). Exploring Psychology Memory is a constructive and dynamic system rather than a passive mechanism for recording external information. Evaluate this claim, making reference to research findings. The concept that the memory is a constructive and dynamic system was originally introduced by Sir Frederic Bartlett, in the 1920 s. According to Bartlett, social factors influence one s ability to remember, and in turn, can either change a person s perception of a specific memory or distort the original memory. As opposed to the memory being a passive mechanism which indicates that the brain can store data and facts which can later be recalled without distortion and remain as they were when they were first encoded. These theories are called context reinstatement , which is a technique used that puts a person s thoughts back to their physical surroundings so that these senses can stimulate certain memories. Recalling everything , is a technique that encourages a person to remember every detail of an event, whether they believe it to be relevant or not which, in turn, can lead to the retrieval of important and factual information. Recalling in different temporal orders , uses the technique of reversal retrieval. This method asks a person to remember the events in reverse order which puts more emphasis on remembering the facts, as this is not a natural way of thinking it forces information to be recalled. Finally, the last method is called changing perspective which asks a person to recall the events from a different perspective other than their own. This encourages them to think in more detail and again encourages more information to be retrieved (Brace, 2007, p126). All these exercises have been created to help stimulate the brain into remembering and all work on the basis that for our memories to be retrieved it is essential that we relate past experiences to specific events. Peter the Great of Russia, the greatest and most controversial of the Russian Czars, was responsible for the country s emergence as a great power. Peter the Great pacified nobility, created a standing army, and increased the county s revenue. Peter the Great kept his nobles under control by giving them jobs in the military and civil offices. The Russian army was then both enlarged and professionalized by Peter the Great. Peter the great also increased the country s revenue by increasing taxes and by promoting trade. Many of his reform s help him centralize more political power. Centralization becomes important to an absolute monarch and Peter the Great knew just how to do it. Peter the Great s military reforms massively modernized Russia s Army and Navy. Creating a new army could arguably be one of the best reform movements that Peter the Great has ever done. His new army centralized more power for him; therefore, helping him control over his people and the nobility. The Russian army was both enlarged and made into a professional army under Peter the great. Before Peter the Great made his army into a professional, standing army, his army was based on villagers going into battle to defend the Motherland. By breathing in excess amounts of carbon monoxide, it can enter the bloodstream and result in severe tissue damage, lung damage and even death. Even though scientists and innovators know that motor vehicles produce over 10 different types of pollution, they still focus on enhancing strength of the vehicles rather than lowering the emissions. Improving strength is a very important part of advancing technology. Strength may be necessary but reducing pollution is of much more importance. There are many different solutions that attempted to fix the problem of automobile pollution but only one has come close. The hydrogen fuel cell consists of two electrodes, a positively charged cathode, and a negatively charged anode. The fuel cell has an electrolyte that sends electrically charged particles from one electrode to the other. The hydrogen fuel cell is able to produce energy as long as oxygen and hydrogen are available. Hydrogen fuel cells don t produce emissions and are also able to power all motor vehicles. These special fuel cells do not cause pollution or create dangerous byproducts, their only byproducts are water and heat. In addition, a hydrogen fuel cell is way more efficient than gasoline powered engines. Most forms of transportation emit harmful emissions and cause pollution. • 40. The Economic Reforms Of Argentina Essay In December 2015, Argentina s newly elected Cambiemos party (Lets Change) announced it planned on lifting all restrictions on capital flows, allowing practically unlimited access to foreign currency in a process intended to push the peso s value to float towards its true market value. The move to liberalize capital flows was a desperate attempt to increase exports and spur economic growth in an economy that has been battling low foreign reserves and double digit inflation for the past several years. The free market candidate, Mauricio Macri, was determined to restore investor confidence in Argentina, utterly destroyed by its 2002 record default, a lack of transparency in its economic institutions, and heavy state intervention. With the backing of big business, both domestic and foreign, Macri was able to mobilize a dissatisfied middle class tired of the leftist protectionism of the past decade. The economic reforms came at a time of extreme political polarization and civil unrest in Argentina. The Peronist candidate, Daniel Scioli, lost by a very slim margin, leaving the opposition eager to utilize any economic setbacks as political ammunition. For many Argentines, Macri s neoliberal plans sound awfully reminiscent of the disastrous policies implemented by Carlos Menem in the 1990s. Given the population s low tolerance for austerity measures and a ferocious opposition watching every move, Macri s must walk a tight line if he is to successfully tackle Argentina s economic ... Isolation is if only thing changing is that which is being manipulated whether up or down, then the change in effect is caused by the change in IV (the thing manipulated). It is harder to get isolation from psychology, than that from physical experiments. In experiments, even in a double blind study, the IV and subjects are changing. This can prove to make things even more difficult when the DV is based on the subject, the change on the DV may be due to difference in samples and not on changes due to the IV. Where a confounding variable is the environment or situation, the difference in subjects such as age or gender is a subject variable. Convergent validity is a measure as a construct to the extent that the item correlates with what it should correlate if it is a measure of the construct, usually by Pearson correlation. Social Cohesion And Its Effects On Society Individuals create friendships, bonds, and relationships in society to strengthen not only that individual s social cohesion, but the social cohesion of the collective community. Social cohesion is used to maintain the structure and integrity of a society. There are many aspects of society which draw individuals and groups, either closer, or further away from other individuals or groups. However, many times social cohesion depends heavily on the act of inclusion and exclusion of certain individuals from a given society or community. Exclusion or inclusion depends greatly on financial status and resources an individual has. In recent years researchers have seen variant decreases in social cohesion, and have seen governments take action in order to prevent the downfall. In general, social cohesion is created through means of communication amongst a society, along with the relationships, connections, and bonds formed within the society (Berger Schmitt, 2002, p. 405). However, it goes much deeper than just purely relations formed within communities, social cohesion in itself has a lot to do with economic status and the ability to obtain and access resources required to be able to partake in society and maintain subjective well being (Klein, 2011, p. 900). Examples of resources that may strengthen social cohesion are; access to improved healthcare or education, access to community centres, parks, public events, and employment. In this respect, many of the detrimental drugs have been illegalized in many parts of the world. Reflective Essay On Greek Culture My experience attending the Seminar on Greece with Dr. Khosrowshahi was a very interesting, fun and informational way to gain knowledge of the different cultures and history of other parts of the world. I do not have an extensive knowledge of Greek history or culture. I enjoyed learning the different traditions and cultural rituals of the Greek culture. I learned a lot about the history of Greece and how much the history influences many other cultures throughout the world. The most interesting fact and important impression I took away from the seminar is my Mother s name is Diane , neither my mother or myself knew the Greek history behind her name. I enjoyed how Dr. K used different ways to involve the students at the seminar to become engaged in learning and experiencing Greek culture. I found the drum performance quite exciting and interesting. Also, the young ladies demonstrating their cultural dance skills were very entertaining. After learning more about Greek culture, I found it very interesting how much the alphabet and language influences American English. The part of the seminar I enjoyed most was Dr. K demonstrating his knowledge of Greek music by demonstrating the drum. I enjoyed many other aspects of the seminar as well. I enjoyed the visuals, including the pictures and videos used to provide a visual experience of Greek culture. The Greek culture artifacts and photos from previous trips to Greece was inspiring and exciting to experience as well. Also, student interaction was impressive throughout the entire seminar. There is not anything I disliked about the seminar. The only thing I did not like was having to take off work to attend. This is not anything involving the seminar or the presentation. Furthermore, I am thankful I was able to have the opportunity to take off work to attend this continuing education experience. Prior to this seminar, I was not aware of the extensive history of the Olympic Games. It was interesting to learn the Olympics originated before Christ.
