  • 3. BUSINESS NAME • Most people who are interested in your business will do a search for your company name. • For any business social media profile, your name should be your business name
  • 4. OPTIMIZING YOUR USERNAME • Choose wisely • Becomes a part of branded URL (ex. Twitter.com/yourbusinessname • Use something brand related even if its your business name

YOUR PROFILE PICTURE & COVER PHOTO • The Great Debate – Photo vs. Logo • If opted for photo it puts a face to small business if you are just starting out – *high engagement • Established brand recommended to go with Logo helps build brand recognition • Once your selected, use the same profile photo across all platforms

  1. Having a social media presence is no longer a commodity, it’s a necessity for business success, whether you are a small or larger corporation. One of the common mistakes is business owners fail to optimize their social media platforms, which can hurt them more than not having a profile at all. Some use different user names across various platforms, not including a profile image or cover photo or not completing the pertinent information in their profiles. These tactics can lead to confusion and also leads to little to no brand recognition. The Good News is that optimizing your social media profiles isn’t as complicated as you might think. Once you have done all you should to properly optimize your profile, make sure to check all the information often to make sure it’s still relevant, and keep on top of major changes.
