Narrative Essay On The Tower Of Terror
I stared up at the 199 foot tower, sweat rolling down my back and anxiety caught in my throat. Yeah, I
think I can ride it, it s not that tall. I bluffed, trying to play off the fact that I wanted to pee my pants
just at the sight of the tower of terror. We d been in Disney world for a couple of days before we went
to Hollywood Studios, the Tower of Terror is the main attraction at the park and the only real
rollercoaster (my brother and sister said anyway) at the park that didn t involve any loops. Even
though I m a year older than my brother who s 9, and 6 years older than my 5 year old sister, they both
have already ridden roller coasters and continue to give me grief about being to afraid to ride one. I
planned to prove them wrong by riding the tower of terror, but once I was actually standing in front of
the ride my fake confidence started to fade and instead I decided I wanted to chicken out. I let my
brother and sister run ahead of me and stayed back with my mom as my siblings rushed into line.
Riley it really isn t that bad. You could easily do it, there s no loops, it s not that fast either, just three
drops. My mom kept telling me this to coax me into getting in the line, but instead me and my mom
ended up staying back while my brother sister and dad rode the ride. The whole time that we were
eating I kept looking at the tower and trying to convince myself to ride it. My brother and sister came
back from the ride wearing matching smiles and started going on and on about the ride. It was so fun,
it wasn t even scary, My brother laughed. Yeah that s my favorite ride, it s not scary at all, Riley you re
such a scaredy cat if you don t ride it. My sister replied. I just kept saying that I wasn t scared and that
I just wanted to ride it later. We continued our day and watched a couple of shows and rode some
other small rides but eventually we passed by the Tower of Terror again and the teasing started up
again. Riley do you want to ride it with me? My mom asked as we kept walking closer to the tower.
No mom, I told you I don t want to because I m scared. I told her. But she didn t give up and kept
persuading me to try it, said that I d end up really liking it and that I should

Digital Intellectual Property Is The Creative,...
Digital intellectual property is the creative, intelligence, and artistic work produced by the creator
whose value comes from the ideas, research, skills, and labor he/she put in. Intellectual properties are
protected by the copyrights and patent law. Writing code and designing systems can be considered as
intellectual property, and they are protected by the copyrights and patent law. However, in the
computer software industry, there are some cases where the line between something original or simply
copyright infringement is blurred out and the case between Oracle and Google for using JAVAAPIs
interface in Android is a good example. Google copied code from JAVA, used in their Android mobile
platform, and Oracle own JAVA, sued Google for copyrights infringement.
Google s Android is the most popular mobile platform in the world with more than eighty percent
market share, and it is based on JAVA which was developed by Sun Microsystems and currently own
by Oracle. JAVA is an open source language and open to the public to use for free. However, open
source code does not allow modifying the code without licensing or publishing back the modified
code in the open community. In 2007, when Google first released Android SDK beta, they have used
some of the JAVA higher level interfaces that require licensing. Google knew that from the very
beginning, modification of JAVA code and including them in the Android SDK is violating copyrights
law yet they went on using the modified JAVA

A Letter To Associated Students Of Western Oregon University
Dear Associated Students of Western Oregon University, Rex Fuller
When I decided to go to Western Oregon University, I knew I was going to a small school, and I
wanted that. I know only 5,382 students go to Western and that is not much bigger than my high
school. The reason I came was for the Western for the WOU women s rugby team. When I came to
WOU, I expected more support from the school and am very disappointed. Did you know that the
Western Oregon women s rugby team has gone to the conference finals three years in a row? And in
2015 and 2016, they were back to back champions? Yet the rugby team and other clubs get little to no
funding and support from the university.

WOU could easily become one of the top schools in the country for rugby. All the rugby program
would need is more support from the university. In fact, this is an excerpt from a NCAA article about
rugby:
For all institutions, it is an economical way to offer a popular women s athletic activity for current and
incoming students. To field a women s rugby team, the basic needs include: 1) a pool of existing or
incoming students that want to play, 2) a coach, 3) a soccer sized field for practice and competition,
and 4) developing a schedule with local, regional and national competitive opportunities.
WOU already has all of those things and a club that is already performing at a high level, yet, rugby is
not considered a sport by the university.
By support, I do not necessarily mean money. All though money would be nice because rugby runs all
their own fundraisers and gets no financial support from the school. Currently the rugby teams
compete with the lacrosse teams for a field to practice on. Even when the rugby teams are allowed to
practice, the field is double or triple booked, meaning they have a small half or quarter of the field to
practice on. In fact, most nights the football field is completely unoccupied. If the rugby teams and
lacrosse teams could use the football field or other empty fields, there would be less frustration about
practice time. Clubs aren t even allowed to use the empty weight rooms on campus. This forces the
club teams to try and use the

An Example Of Foreshadowing In The Leap
1. An example of foreshadowing in The Leap occurs when the narrator recalls her mother telling her
that she would be amazed at how many things a person can do within the act of falling . This
foreshadows their leap from the fire. Erdrich builds suspense throughout the story through multiple
references to falling and being saved leading to the expectation that something bad will happen to the
narrator. Erdrich also creates suspense through her use of words, such as describing the storm which
caused the death of Anna s husband as a deadly gale . 2. An example of contrast in the story is that
between the first time Anna makes a leap in order to protect the life of her unborn child, and the final
leap in which Anna saves the narrator from the fire. During the first leap, Anna makes a decision in the
attempt to allow her baby a full life; however, the child ends up dying only a few months later. In the
final leap, Anna once again must rescue her child, and this time succeeds in allowing her child a long
life. Erdrich is using contrast here to illustrate the importance in not letting past failures prevent her
from taking a risk. If she had let fear of failure prevent her from taking that chance again, her child
would have died. If she had let fear of failure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Advantages Of Quantum Cryptography
Quantum Cryptography
Introduction
Quantum cryptography is a new method for secret communications offering the ultimate security
assurance of the inviolability of a Law of Nature. Unlike traditional classical cryptography, which uses
mathematical techniques to restrict eavesdroppers, quantum cryptography is focused on the physics of
information. The development of quantum cryptography be classified as either public key or secret
key methods. This cryptography also involving two or more parties who may not trust one another.
The best known cryptographic problem is the transmission of secret messages. Suppose wish to
communicate in secret. For example, you may wish to give your credit card number to a merchant in
exchange for goods, hopefully ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mathematical cryptography, as bad as it sometimes is, is the strongest link in most security chains.
Our symmetric and public key algorithms are pretty good, even though they re not based on much
rigorous mathematical theory. The real problems are elsewhere: computer security, network security,
user interface and so on.
Even quantum cryptography doesn t solve all of cryptography: The keys are exchanged with photons,
but a conventional mathematical algorithm takes over for the actual encryption.
Conclusion
Cryptography is used frequently. For example, credit card numbers are encrypted when you buy
something on the internet. Many government agencies are used cryptography to get messages safely
around the world. Public key cryptography is an innovation and which is an unavoidable part of
almost all security protocol and application. Being able to negotiate a shared secret between two
devices online without the need of any exchange of secret data created a breakthrough in secure

The Falcons were able to take advantage of some opportunities and score twice in the second half to

The Beatles’ Legacy Essay
The Beatles Legacy
Many know The Beatles as the most popular and influential music group of the 20th century. In the
early 1960 s, their popularity grew rather rapidly. They continued gaining popularity well through the
1960 s. Although their popularity has decreased somewhat over time, the influences they have
contributed during their career have remained apparent even today.
The Beatles originated from the UK in the early 1960 s. Before becoming known as the Fab Four the
Beatles had multiple band member alterations. In August 1960, after settling on the name the Beatles
the band had 5 members. Two years following the official band naming the number of members
decreased to four. The front line guitarists John Lennon, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their music was catchy and had a vitality and freshness to it that this time period wanted. They
delivered a laid back type of music. Almost like they were delivering the message that everything
would be fine. History shows that people flock to images of hope. During this time in the 60 s, the
message of hope, vitality, and care freeness was not only needed but also yearned for. However not
just anyone could have filled this position. The people of the 1960 s needed something new, fresh, and
uplifting. The Beatles fit that description perfectly.
The day they arrived in America the social phenomenon known as Beatlemania began. Many say that
to describe Beatlemania with words is impossible. It was a feeling more than anything. It was a mass
hysteria and deluge of emotions that had significant and extensive effects on society. These effects
shaped life, as we know it today.
The Beatles were highly talented musicians who had a very unique sound. Many of their albums ran
with different feelings and concepts. They offered variety, which people always enjoy. The Beatles
music was rooted in American rock and roll but also included some rhythm and blues. With the
introduction of this new sound, they redefined the parameters of rock and roll.
Their songs and the lyrics they consisted of were also very influential. Much like everything else they
did, their songs had variety. From a slow ballad in McCartney s Blackbird to the bizarre and intriguing

Analysis Of The Clan Of One-Breasted Women
Everyone plan to live a strong healthy life, ladies and gentlemen that is not always the case. Terry
Tempest Williams wrote The Clan of One Breasted Women but it originally came from a book that

the issue of how a bomb explosion put people loved ones in danger. Williams informs and persuade
Cancer survivors and people that lost a loved one to cancer by having evidence like how it came in

Although Williams was informing throughout the essay about the disaster persuading also took place.
Ladies and gentlemen, she told us about how the disaster happened and slowly over time people
started to die. This disaster happened in 1957 but in 2017 thousands of people have cancer. Williams
informs us that even though this happened many centuries ago it still affects today society. The essay
then persuades about how the government lied and said the testing was okay but the testing was not
okay at all. Even though the government only ruled ten cases and then said, the Supreme court refused
to review the appeals court decision (Williams). By the government saying everything will okay and
them not wanting to do any more cases it should persuade society to take part in the situation going
on. The government is supposed to help but instead, the government is ripping society health apart by

Aristophanes And Plato Compared To Socrates
Aristophanes describes him as a impatient and narrow mind thinker and he also not consider Socrates
as a teacher but just a normal thinker who tries to convey his ideologies in typical way. Aristophanes
pointed Socrates as evil person who just try to be a great thinker and wanted to give their teachings to
other. Aristophanes describes Socrates very ironically and revealed many controversial facts about him
in his works.
But on the contrary Plato also describes Socrates in a very critical way and also portrayed as a very
disputable way but he also Characterize him as a philosopher who give lot of contributions in the
western philosophy.Plato consider his as a sophist because he was father of western philosophy and
propounded many theories and also gives many doctrines which also known as Doctrine of Socrates
but as same as Aristophanes he describes him as an ironic person who does not believe in God.
Socrates was stirred in so many controversies and had put to death by jury of five hundred member
just because he did not admit his faith in God when he was accused by his fellow. He was sentenced to
death by Athenian court just because he did not believe in the faith of God and he was refuse to
identify God. Poison was given to him to give him death.
These were the depictions which were critically characterized by the Aristophanes and Plato in context
of Socrates disbelief in God s faith.

If I asked you to conjure up an image of a modern American Jewish celebration, chances are you
would picture the stereotypical circle dance with the catchy, repetitive song chanting Hava Nagila .
But can this dance, the hora (h) 1, truly be classified as Jewish? In this paper, I will examine the
voyage the hora traveled during the 1880s from Romania to Israel, where newly settled Jewish
immigrants adopted it as their own ( Israel ). Roughly forty years later, Baruch Agadati, a Jewish
choreography, modified the Romania hora, allowing Eastern Europeans the opportunity to use the
dance as a vehicle to create their new identity within Israel. The performance of this new dance in the

alternative name of the Davka Festival. She decided to co name the festival that because davka means

critical public display that further kindled the spread of the Hora Agadati that eventually
revolutionized into the Israeli Horah. Alongside the Hora Agadati, Kadman recruited a mixture of a
few Israeli dances that were also newly constructed, in addition to copious foreign folk dances that she
saw around the country (Rosenblit; Roginsky). Approximately 3,500 visitors from all over Israel came
to watch the 200 dancers, as well as participate in classes where they could learn the dances (Kaschl;

Madeleine Leininger Transcultural Nursing Theory
Transcultural Nursing Theory by Madeleine Leininger Tranette K Baca Central New Mexico

in Sutton, Nebraska. She is known for developing the Transcultural Nursing Theory also known as the
Culture Care Theory .. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Human Sciences and Doctor of
Science. She was also a Registered Nurse and Certified Transcultural Nurse. Although Leininger
developed transcultural nursing theory in 1950 s, it wasn t published until four decades later in
Leininger s Culture Care Diversity and Universality (Petiprin, 2014). Leininger recognized that there
was an absence of cultural care knowledge while providing patient care. Therefore, purpose of
Transcultural Nursing Theory is to help nurses take in consideration the patient s culture and cultural
background when determining how to care for the patient (Petiprin, 2014). It also helps nurses to
become more understanding and respectful when it comes to diversity in culture and strengthen nurse
patient relationship. Madeleine Leininger s Transcultural theory is now incorporated into nursing
education to help improve health outcomes by knowing who our patients are as a whole. By doing this
we see patients as a whole, and not just viewing them simply a set of symptoms or an illness (Petiprin,
2014). Nurses can integrate patient s cultural background with the steps of the nursing process,

The Importance Of Bias In Literature
Few modern authors have had as profound an effect on their genre, society, political debate, or
literature in general as Robert Heinlein. Science fiction author Ken Macleod suggests that the world
was having a dialogue with Heinlein, unfortunately, one of the unintentional consequences of dialogue
is misunderstanding, some of which is caused by reader bias (Macleod, James, Mendlesohn 231). Bias
is dangerous to readers and they should, consequently, avoid it for at least three reasons; first, it causes
a work or author to be regarded in many contradicting ways; second, it creates an atmosphere in which
faulty arguments are made, and third, it results in significant elements of the story being ignored.
Though, one should not construe this in such a way as to denote that this report is so much about the
book itself as about the overall scope of it in relation to Heinlein, the bias levied for or against the
book and him as well as their overall message, and the meaning of the work itself. It is vital that it be
understood that in this context bias is any tendency to judge something either more or less favorably
based on preexisting notions rather than on the data presented. It is equally important to understand
that the human mind looks for patterns, the term for this phenomenon is pareidolia, in which people
see hidden faces in clouds or even hear nonexistent messages in songs. It is because the mind seeks to
recognize patterns, even where none exist. Similarly, people who

simple example would be you are walking on the street and you see someone steal a women s purse,
you can either do something about it and try to get it back or just stand by and watch as the man runs
away. In this case in the movie Glory, it is about the 54th regiment, a volunteer colored fighting force
made up of northern freemen, and some escaped slaves Overall Glory is about the freedom of millions
of people from forced labor and captivity on unjust causes. These brave men risked their lives
knowing if they succeed, all the slaves and laborers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Shaw showed him respect he would not accept it and would always react with violence. This
changed though when Sargent Major John Rawlins confronted him for his behavior and told him what
was actually going on and why they were here. To me this is a pivotal moment in the movie because
you see with the help of the brilliant actor Denzel, Trips eyes widen as if he can see for the first time
in a long time, the reason for the war and the fighting was for him and his brothers and sisters. Sargent
Major Rawlins tells him that the white men are dying by the thousands for them and the least they can
do is do anything to pay them back.
This is why I believe this movie is and artistic genius because growing up with my education I knew
why the north was fighting and who they were fighting for but watching that scene in the movie I felt
really emotional and surprised as well as Private Trip. Throughout the movie Glory there are many
different artistic qualities. Things that are symbols for others that to us today would just be something
normal. A few of these are the 54th regiments need for shoes and want of the infamous blue uniforms.
To me the shoes symbolized happiness and acceptance. At this time former slaved did not have much
so the little things meant a lot to them even if it was a simple pair of shoes. And it symbolized
acceptance because they felt the entire time they were at training that they were never going to go and
do anything, they would just

Examples Of Rambling Autobiography
Rambling Autobiography Nicholas Hill My only memory of first grade is learning cursive and having
far worse handwriting than other classmates. Probably my favorite memory from elementary school is
recess and playing with friends. Middle school came around and was probably the first time I was
really nervous to go to school, but by the end I realized how fun it was and all the trouble I got into.
Before school every started for me I enjoyed playing outside climbing trees. Every time fall came
around I looked forward to jumping in piles of leaves, carving pumpkins and halloween. In 8th grade I
started skiing which is my favorite winter hobby. The first time I went on a airplane was last
year(2016) when we went to Florida then took a cruise to the Bahamas. I m hate spiders and snakes
especially big snakes and spiders. One of my favorite memories as a child is when went on a short
vacation in New Hampshire and stayed in a really cool cabin with a stream behind it that made for the
best sleep ever. Another time I went to New Hampshire was with my Aunt and Uncle and we stayed in
a house they own near Hampton Beach, which was the first time I ever went to a big beach. In 6th
grade my family and my friends family went to the Damariscotta Lake State Park almost every day
and had barbecue chicken on the regular, along with hamburgers and hotdogs. We also went to the
majority of state parks in Maine because we got a state park pass book and there is a challenge in it to

The Debt For Advanced Economies
The supply of general gross debt for advanced economies increased significantly over the past years
compared to that of emerging economies, especially after the onset of the financial crisis as illustrated
in the graph below:
The above general advanced economies debt supply has been absorbed by demand from both foreign
and domestic investors, however, the demand composition of these investors has changed significantly
for some countries compared to others since the onset of the financial crisis as evident in the graph
below:
Indeed, notably the foreign demand has declined significantly during the euro sovereign crisis for
higher spread euro sovereigns (Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, and Spain, or so called GIIPS ) as well
as for other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(2009)) However, looking deeper, an increase, in particular, in the share of domestic banks in the
investor base may threaten domestic financial stability and increase the sovereign bank nexus,
increasing borrowing costs and even in extreme cases leading to self fulfilling debt crisis. (Adler,
(2012); Acharya et. al. (2013))
Refinancing Risk
Some studies show that a rising share of foreign investors in the investor base increases governments
refinancing risk. In particular, foreign non bank investors can be less stable source of funding for
sovereigns because they can invest in broader pool of assets, thus can easily stop rolling over or can
sell the debt in cases of sovereign shocks. (Arslanalp and Tsuda (2012)) Additionally, some advanced
economies might be hit by sudden stops in foreign funding also as a result of global risk aversion shift.
(Calvo and Talvi (2005))
Do foreign investors matter?
Indeed, the composition of the investor base matters, in particular a decline in foreign demand matters
for both borrowing costs and refinancing risk. However, the interesting observation is that such
foreign investor demand decline has had significant implications for some countries such as the high
spread euro countries (GIIPS) while very little effect for other countries such as Switzerland,
Australia, and US. This leads to the conclusion that some advanced economies (e.g. high spread euro
economies) are more vulnerable to changes in the sovereign debt share by foreign

The Better Business Bureau Swot Analysis

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is a nonprofit organization consisting of 112 independently

The organization relies heavily on part time workers, volunteers, and interns to fill a majority of its
positions. The Bureau employs thirty employees. Of these thirty employees, only eleven are
considered full time and permanent. The core positions at the BBB, which include dispute resolution
analyst positions, mediators, and dispute services positions, are filled 100 percent by employees that
are not full time. The disadvantages of relying so heavily on these types of workers in significant
positions are impactful on internal operations. First, part time and temporary workers have high
attrition rates. These workers are more apt to leaving their present employment for more permanent
positions elsewhere. The organization is saddled with the operational costs of replacing the loss
worker. Additionally, the organization experiences a decline in production and services provide to its
customers. Secondly, temporary and part time workers normally do not possess the knowledge base or
experience of permanent workers. (Kokemuller, 2016) These type of workers often take a much longer
time, when compared to permanent employees, to gain the knowledge and experience needed to
efficiently perform the tasks specific to the organization. Additionally, the organization has to allocate

For the beginning years of American history up until around 1829, patronage was the primary system
for selection. However, social class (higher education) and ethic of fitness of character often muffled
the patronage system. Around 1829 President Jackson insisted on better representation of all social
classes. He advocated keeping government positions simple so that individuals with a modest level of
education would be eligible. Problems became clear with patronage system, such as individuals were
being assigned to position with no experience or ability, there were frequent inequalities in pay, and it
was common for those in government positions to campaigning for the reelection of politicians and
give up portions of their pay to support the party in power. Following the civil war corruptions in
government systems was rampant, this sparked a public driven government overhaul that last for

his sort of side kick . Luke Skywalker and his sister Leia along with other rebels try and help take the

The Three Types of Ancient Chinese Rulers
In ancient China, many different rulers tried to unify and rule the country using a variety of methods
Confucianism, Daoism, and Legalism to name a few. Each philosophy had its own set of rules of how
people should act both in public and privately. The overall goal of each philosophy was to set a
standard of acceptable living that would ensure harmony and success for the society. However, each
was different and thus had different results. Legalism is a philosophy emphasizing strict obedience to
the legal system. It was one of the main philosophic currents during the Warring States period and
when it was most prominent. The school s most famous proponent and contributor, Han Fei believed
that a ruler should use the following three tools to govern his subjects: law, method, and legitimacy.
The law code must be clearly written and made public. All people under the ruler were equal before
the law. Laws should reward those who obey them and punish accordingly those who dare to break
them. Thus it is guaranteed that actions taken are systematically predictable. In addition, the system of
law, not the ruler, ran the state, a statement of rule of law. If the law is successfully enforced, even a
weak ruler will be strong. Especially important is that no one can fathom the ruler s motivations, and
thus no one can know which behavior might help them get ahead, other than following the laws.
Legitimacy is the position of the ruler, not the ruler himself or herself, that holds the

Silver DBQ
Silver DBQ Essay
The global flow of silver from the mid sixteenth century to the early eighteenth century had vast
effects both socially and economically around the world. By this time an interregional trade network
had been clearly established and world trade was booming. When China, a prominent trade nation,
accepted silver as its currency and would only exchange for it, the importance of silver increased. This
new rapid scramble for silver proved to be both beneficial and disastrous. While countries which were
lucky geographically in their supply of raw silver could now trade prominently with China, demand
created an increase of labor and social unrest. Reliance on silver both helped and hindered economies
and societies, bringing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2). Europe seemed to remain the most neutral in this desperate silver trade, choosing to remain only
involved enough to observe. British merchants were not entirely reliant on trade to or from the Asian
worlds so merely recorded how China received nothing but silver (Doc. 4) and the Portuguese use this
to their good advantage in China . However, England could not remain completely unaffected as
scholars such as Charles D Avenant observed. Luxury goods especially spices and silks have become
prominent in European culture. While Europe draws from Asia nothing on solid use it has tasted of
this luxury (Doc. 8) and it is not advisable for England to pull out of this silver trade. England could
afford to remain more objective, but it could not pull out entirely. It had roots planted early on, and it
would cause severe social disturbance to tear them up. Yet despite any conjectures drawn from
accounts of scholars, merchants, officials and priests it is impossible to know the full extent of the
economic and social effects of silver without the voice of the common people. It was the commoners,
laborers, slaves, farmers and peasants which bore the full brunt of the trade. Their every day lives
relied on day to day paychecks, which mandated how they survived. It is the rise and fall of poverty in
the peasantry, the social unrest or benefit of the commoners that would reveal the true effect of silver.

Vanguard Match Essay
To be honest, before the latest chapter even was published I believe the vanguard match is dependent
on Onjouji Toki s condition. As we all know, Toki pushed herself against her battle with Teru that she
collapsed at the end of the match and has to go to the hospital. And while it literally feels like years to
us, Toki just rested for a day. So, while normally Toki should be overpowering her opponents like in
the latest chapter, I wouldn t be surprised if her normal future sight can t be used for the whole match.
This uncertainty is further compounded by the fact that Suzu s power trigger depending on the power
level of her opponent. Hanada and Naruka would most likely not trigger it. Thus, Suzu s bomb power

Stop The Self Sabotage Of Parental Guilt: You re Probably Doing Better Than You Think!
A little guilt can sometimes be a good thing, driving people to stay honest, do better and keep on the
right path; however, a parent s guilt is oft exaggerated by their fierce drive to want nothing but the best
for and from their children. Here are five ways in which you might be feeling guilty as a parent and
why you are probably wrong about most of them:
1. You Can t Buy Your Child Everything They Want

making the most of every moment you do have together and managing time in between work and

Being a one person operation means you carry an extra heavy load as a parent, often feeling like you
re only capable of getting half the job done. Most especially, though, if the other parent is out of the
picture because they have serious problems that could negatively impact your household, you re doing
the right thing. It s also very difficult for a single parent to successfully navigate the dating scene, due
to lack of time, fear of meeting a psycho or introducing your kids to a new person, then having to say
goodby because it didn t work out.
Rather than feel guilty about your solo position, give yourself a well earned pat on the back for the job
you re doing and know that your kids will grow up as outstanding people, just the same.

means that they prefer to be alone, and they like to stay on one place for long periods of time. The
only time more than one black widow will be found together is their during mating season. Chapter 18
The Black Widow Bite Upon getting bitten by a black widow, you should seek medical attention

can make breathing difficult. Black widows are nonaggressive and bite only in self defense, such as
when someone accidentally sits on them. Despite popular belief, most people who are bitten suffer no

most people do survive. If you think a black widow, or any other spider has bitten you, it is always

The hip, one of the largest major weight bearing joints in the body. It s where the thigh bone also

bone (pelvic bone). A ball and socket joint is also characterized as synovial joint. Synovial joints are
more complex joints that are held together by a capsule of dense connective tissue and filled with
synovial fluid that lubricates the joints. The joint capsule which is composed of large ligaments,

The femoral neck or intracapsular fracture occurs when the neck of the femur breaks and sometimes
the ball may move out of it s place. This type of fracture happens more likely with athletes and
performers. Over years there have been several methods orthopedists have used to fix femoral neck
fractures. In 1931, Smith Petersen used internal fixation by reducing pain and pressure to the fractured
parts followed by immobilization in a spica cast application. Until 1970 another widely spread method
called the multiple pin fixation technique was introduced by another orthopedist. In this method the
fracture fragments would heal with the insertion of Pugh nails and Richards screws. Both of these
methods include a sliding fixation process where the fractured fragments rub against each other. The
second type of hip fracture which is repaired more frequently is intertrochanteric hip fracture. The
intertrochanteric hip fracture occurs slightly below the neck of the femur and the lesser trochanter.
These fractures undergo a treatment that involves the insertion of AO proximal femoral or sliding
plates, intramedullary nails, cannulated or dynamic hip screws, and/or rods to balance and protect the
fractures. After the surgery, surgeries suggest that the patients stay in bed to make sure the fracture
does not occur again. The third type of hip fracture is subtrochanteric fracture. The

My Observation At The Child Development Center
Cady At the beginning of my third observation at the Child Development Center, I decided to observe
a three year old girl that I will call Cady. I chose her because of her irrepressible attitude, which shown
through in all of her actions and loudly voiced opinions. Throughout the semester not only did I gain
developmental information about Cady, I gained some background information as well. She is the
youngest child in the CDC, having only turned three during the last semester. Not only is she the
youngest child at the CDC, she is the youngest of five children at home. Cognitive Compared to the
other three year olds at the CDC, Cady is in some ways ahead and in other ways behind in her
cognitive development. According to Piaget s theory, Cady should be right at the beginning of the
preoperational stage. By Cady s age, children are heavily involved in make believe play and can use
other items to symbolize what they want. Cady is just as advanced as everybody else she was around
and showed this ability all the times she, and other children were using various types of blocks to
build an Elsa Tower . This activity took place almost every day I was there; the children, and Cady,
knew the blocks were not actually building the ice tower that Elsa made in Frozen, but they continued
to pretend and act like it did. Another limitation of the preoperational stage was the rigid thinking the
children have. Great examples were what happened when someone broke the rules. During

Comparing Democracy Gaps And Participation
The actual aim of this study is regarding comparing democracy gaps and participation between Arab
Muslim countries and non Arab Muslim countries. The authors explain that the sixteen Arab countries
in the world are not democratic and have the lowest rates of Gross
Domestic Product per capita (GDPpc) concerning competitive elections. The authors continue in their
arguments and study stating that thirty one countries which are Muslim, but non Arab in contrast have
much higher rates of GDPpc in competitive elections.
The authors are trying to examine what makes such differences in these two different categories of
countries. The authors begin their thorough examination studying from the years from 1972 to

authors study regarding electoral competitiveness found that religions other than Islam dominate. The
second stage is by qualitative, which is measuring more by quality than by quantity, it concentrated
more on evaluating all the forty seven Muslim dominant states and seeing which met the standard to

two stages declare.

The Impact Of Foreign Policy On International Trade Essay
Ever since the first involvement of government in international trade, many people have posed their
opinion about what the role of government should be in it. Different factors are involved when it
comes to deciding what this should be. It impacts a lot of people, so in order to do that, trade policy
must be properly defined, identify what the roles of government currently are, and their involvement
in it, and then analyse what should be their role. Trade policy is how a country carries out trade with
other countries (Commercial Policy, n.d). Even though a lot of people support government
intervention in international trade, countries would benefit a lot more if the government removes
protectionism and promotes free trade instead.
Trade policy is defined as a collection of rules and regulations that are made by public officials which
relate to trade (Trade Policy, 2010). An organisation that makes the rules of trading amongst its
member nations is the World Trade Organisation (WTO). They are the ones who handles trade issues,
supervises trade policies, gives technical assistance to developing countries and participates with other
international trade organisations (World Trade Organisation, n.d). New Zealand is an example of a
country that works with the WTO. Due to this, it enables them to have a free trade policy. Trading is
essential to New Zealand s economy, as they can only afford the services and goods that they import
by selling exports to other countries. Free trade

could blacks, the majority desperately poor, participate fully in the emerging consumer economy,
either as employees in the new department stores (except as janitors and cleaning women) or as
purchasers of the consumer goods now flooding the marketplace. It is important that the struggles
faced even after abolition be recognized. When blacks did not abide by Jim Crow laws created to keep
black and whites divided they were met with violence. Foner mentioned a riot that resulted in the
death of 39 people, leaving 500 others injured that took place due to a black male accidently

Case Study: Royal Bank of Canada in Thailand
1. What were RBC s ultimate goals in opening a representative office in Thailand?
When RBC opened a representative office in Thailand in the early 1980 s, its ultimate goal was to
obtain a full branch license. RBC felt that Thailand had the potential to become a regional financial
center, and they certainly wanted to have an established presence in a country with this sort of
opportunity. RBC also had the corporate goal of increasing the amount of its business generated from
non Canadian sources. With RBC locations in Asia already accounting for 16% of their total
international earning assets, opening a new branch in Asia seemed likely to help achieve the bank s
corporate goal. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
6. What are Thailand s most important exports?
Thailand s most important exports are tourism and manufactured products. Manufactured products
such as: clothing, electronic parts and components, furniture, and jewelry account for 81% of the
nation s export volume. With seven million people going to Thailand each year, tourism accounts for
13% of the country s total export revenue.
7. What is the current (1997) situation in Thailand?
After a decade of sustained growth, the current situation in Thailand is one of unprecedented
economic turmoil. The countries exports have halted, foreign investors have become hesitant with
their money due to the account deficit, the stock market plummeted, and big loans made by banks
have caused a large accumulation of debt. Typical causes of an economic crisis, such as: high debt,
large current account deficit, deregulation of the banking industry without proper controls in place,
and a semi fixed exchange rate are all at the forefront of the nation s current economic state.
8. What are the highlights of the IMF s bailout of Thailand?
The IMF s bailout of Thailand was an agreement that would give the Thai government $16.7 billion in
loans in exchange for the country adopting a tough program of economic and financial reforms. These
reforms required the closing of 16 finance firms; these 16 firms would either have to merge with other
banks, or submit their own rehabilitation plan. This agreement with the IMF

The Four Noble Truth Vs. The Eightfold Path
The Four Noble Truths are Buddha s reflections about life and they define what is suffering (dukkha)
and how to overcome suffering. The first noble truth is that no living being can escape suffering
(Eastern Traditions, p.200). This suffering can be emotional or physical. Buddha wants to emphasize
that life does not always meet our expectations and this will lead to suffering. People will still be
suffering even if there is not an external source, like a disease, because they will feel unfulfilled. The
second Noble Truth addresses that suffering comes from a person s desires (Eastern Traditions, p.200).
People may be able to satisfy their desires but this is only temporary solution to suffering. The third
Noble truth is that person can end their suffering if they cease their desires (Eastern Traditions, p.200).
The possibility of liberation can happen if the person extinguishes his or her desires instead of
temporarily satisfying them. The fourth Noble Truth explains that following the Eightfold path is the
way to put an end to suffering (Eastern Traditions, p.200). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These stages do not have to be followed in order. The first stage is to have right understanding, which
means that person should understand and accept the Four Noble truths (Dhammapada, p.73). The
second stage is to have the right thought which is free of sensuous desire and cruelty. These are
thoughts of non violence and love to all creatures, which will lead to selfless detachment
(Dhammapada, p.38 75). The next stage is to have the right speech. The right speech means that a
person will not slander another or lie (Dhammapada, p.70). The fourth step in the path is the right
conduct meaning that a person should engage in peaceful and moral conduct (Dhammapada,

Surgical GI Incident Analysis
While working on a surgical GI unit, I was informed by my nurse that my patient was discharged and
that I was going to be assigned to a new patient. My patient had an anastomotic leak from his previous
surgery and there was a possible chance of sepsis. He had two Jpratt drains, an ileostomy, an NG tube
and lastly some wound dressings. One of the aspects that was different from this patient and other
patients, is that he had a patient controlled analgesia pump (PCA). A PCA is an interactive method of
pain management that permits patients to manage their pain by self administering doses of analgesics,
usually opioids (San Diego Patient Safety Task Force, 2008). My patient had the PCA pump because
of his increased pain due to the complication

  • 3. Narrative Essay On The Tower Of Terror I stared up at the 199 foot tower, sweat rolling down my back and anxiety caught in my throat. Yeah, I think I can ride it, it s not that tall. I bluffed, trying to play off the fact that I wanted to pee my pants just at the sight of the tower of terror. We d been in Disney world for a couple of days before we went to Hollywood Studios, the Tower of Terror is the main attraction at the park and the only real rollercoaster (my brother and sister said anyway) at the park that didn t involve any loops. Even though I m a year older than my brother who s 9, and 6 years older than my 5 year old sister, they both have already ridden roller coasters and continue to give me grief about being to afraid to ride one. I planned to prove them wrong by riding the tower of terror, but once I was actually standing in front of the ride my fake confidence started to fade and instead I decided I wanted to chicken out. I let my brother and sister run ahead of me and stayed back with my mom as my siblings rushed into line. Riley it really isn t that bad. You could easily do it, there s no loops, it s not that fast either, just three drops. My mom kept telling me this to coax me into getting in the line, but instead me and my mom ended up staying back while my brother sister and dad rode the ride. The whole time that we were eating I kept looking at the tower and trying to convince myself to ride it. My brother and sister came back from the ride wearing matching smiles and started going on and on about the ride. It was so fun, it wasn t even scary, My brother laughed. Yeah that s my favorite ride, it s not scary at all, Riley you re such a scaredy cat if you don t ride it. My sister replied. I just kept saying that I wasn t scared and that I just wanted to ride it later. We continued our day and watched a couple of shows and rode some other small rides but eventually we passed by the Tower of Terror again and the teasing started up again. Riley do you want to ride it with me? My mom asked as we kept walking closer to the tower. No mom, I told you I don t want to because I m scared. I told her. But she didn t give up and kept persuading me to try it, said that I d end up really liking it and that I should ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Digital intellectual property is the creative, intelligence, and artistic work produced by the creator whose value comes from the ideas, research, skills, and labor he/she put in. Intellectual properties are protected by the copyrights and patent law. Writing code and designing systems can be considered as intellectual property, and they are protected by the copyrights and patent law. However, in the computer software industry, there are some cases where the line between something original or simply copyright infringement is blurred out and the case between Oracle and Google for using JAVAAPIs interface in Android is a good example. Google copied code from JAVA, used in their Android mobile platform, and Oracle own JAVA, sued Google for copyrights infringement. Google s Android is the most popular mobile platform in the world with more than eighty percent market share, and it is based on JAVA which was developed by Sun Microsystems and currently own by Oracle. JAVA is an open source language and open to the public to use for free. However, open source code does not allow modifying the code without licensing or publishing back the modified code in the open community. In 2007, when Google first released Android SDK beta, they have used some of the JAVA higher level interfaces that require licensing. A Letter To Associated Students Of Western Oregon University Dear Associated Students of Western Oregon University, Rex Fuller When I decided to go to Western Oregon University, I knew I was going to a small school, and I wanted that. I know only 5,382 students go to Western and that is not much bigger than my high school. The reason I came was for the Western for the WOU women s rugby team. When I came to WOU, I expected more support from the school and am very disappointed. Did you know that the Western Oregon women s rugby team has gone to the conference finals three years in a row? All the rugby program would need is more support from the university. In fact, this is an excerpt from a NCAA article about rugby: For all institutions, it is an economical way to offer a popular women s athletic activity for current and incoming students. To field a women s rugby team, the basic needs include: 1) a pool of existing or incoming students that want to play, 2) a coach, 3) a soccer sized field for practice and competition, and 4) developing a schedule with local, regional and national competitive opportunities. WOU already has all of those things and a club that is already performing at a high level, yet, rugby is not considered a sport by the university. By support, I do not necessarily mean money. All though money would be nice because rugby runs all their own fundraisers and gets no financial support from the school. Currently the rugby teams compete with the lacrosse teams for a field to practice on. Even when the rugby teams are allowed to practice, the field is double or triple booked, meaning they have a small half or quarter of the field to practice on. In fact, most nights the football field is completely unoccupied. If the rugby teams and lacrosse teams could use the football field or other empty fields, there would be less frustration about practice time. Clubs aren t even allowed to use the empty weight rooms on campus. This forces the club teams to try and use the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. An Example Of Foreshadowing In The Leap 1. An example of foreshadowing in The Leap occurs when the narrator recalls her mother telling her that she would be amazed at how many things a person can do within the act of falling . This foreshadows their leap from the fire. Erdrich builds suspense throughout the story through multiple references to falling and being saved leading to the expectation that something bad will happen to the narrator. Erdrich also creates suspense through her use of words, such as describing the storm which caused the death of Anna s husband as a deadly gale . 2. An example of contrast in the story is that between the first time Anna makes a leap in order to protect the life of her unborn child, and the final leap in which Anna saves the narrator from the fire. During the first leap, Anna makes a decision in the attempt to allow her baby a full life; however, the child ends up dying only a few months later. In the final leap, Anna once again must rescue her child, and this time succeeds in allowing her child a long life. Even quantum cryptography doesn t solve all of cryptography: The keys are exchanged with photons, but a conventional mathematical algorithm takes over for the actual encryption. Roughly forty years later, Baruch Agadati, a Jewish choreography, modified the Romania hora, allowing Eastern Europeans the opportunity to use the dance as a vehicle to create their new identity within Israel. • 17. The Importance Of Bias In Literature Few modern authors have had as profound an effect on their genre, society, political debate, or literature in general as Robert Heinlein. Science fiction author Ken Macleod suggests that the world was having a dialogue with Heinlein, unfortunately, one of the unintentional consequences of dialogue is misunderstanding, some of which is caused by reader bias (Macleod, James, Mendlesohn 231). Bias is dangerous to readers and they should, consequently, avoid it for at least three reasons; first, it causes a work or author to be regarded in many contradicting ways; second, it creates an atmosphere in which faulty arguments are made, and third, it results in significant elements of the story being ignored. Though, one should not construe this in such a way as to denote that this report is so much about the book itself as about the overall scope of it in relation to Heinlein, the bias levied for or against the book and him as well as their overall message, and the meaning of the work itself. It is vital that it be understood that in this context bias is any tendency to judge something either more or less favorably based on preexisting notions rather than on the data presented. It is equally important to understand that the human mind looks for patterns, the term for this phenomenon is pareidolia, in which people see hidden faces in clouds or even hear nonexistent messages in songs. (Calvo and Talvi (2005)) Do foreign investors matter? Indeed, the composition of the investor base matters, in particular a decline in foreign demand matters for both borrowing costs and refinancing risk. However, the interesting observation is that such foreign investor demand decline has had significant implications for some countries such as the high spread euro countries (GIIPS) while very little effect for other countries such as Switzerland, Australia, and US. This leads to the conclusion that some advanced economies (e.g. high spread euro economies) are more vulnerable to changes in the sovereign debt share by foreign ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. The Three Types of Ancient Chinese Rulers In ancient China, many different rulers tried to unify and rule the country using a variety of methods Confucianism, Daoism, and Legalism to name a few. Each philosophy had its own set of rules of how people should act both in public and privately. The overall goal of each philosophy was to set a standard of acceptable living that would ensure harmony and success for the society. However, each was different and thus had different results. Legalism is a philosophy emphasizing strict obedience to the legal system. It was one of the main philosophic currents during the Warring States period and when it was most prominent. The school s most famous proponent and contributor, Han Fei believed that a ruler should use the following three tools to govern his subjects: law, method, and legitimacy. The law code must be clearly written and made public. All people under the ruler were equal before the law. Laws should reward those who obey them and punish accordingly those who dare to break them. Thus it is guaranteed that actions taken are systematically predictable. In addition, the system of law, not the ruler, ran the state, a statement of rule of law. If the law is successfully enforced, even a weak ruler will be strong. Especially important is that no one can fathom the ruler s motivations, and thus no one can know which behavior might help them get ahead, other than following the laws. Europe seemed to remain the most neutral in this desperate silver trade, choosing to remain only involved enough to observe. British merchants were not entirely reliant on trade to or from the Asian worlds so merely recorded how China received nothing but silver (Doc. 4) and the Portuguese use this to their good advantage in China . However, England could not remain completely unaffected as scholars such as Charles D Avenant observed. Luxury goods especially spices and silks have become prominent in European culture. While Europe draws from Asia nothing on solid use it has tasted of this luxury (Doc. 8) and it is not advisable for England to pull out of this silver trade. England could afford to remain more objective, but it could not pull out entirely. It had roots planted early on, and it would cause severe social disturbance to tear them up. Yet despite any conjectures drawn from accounts of scholars, merchants, officials and priests it is impossible to know the full extent of the economic and social effects of silver without the voice of the common people. It was the commoners, laborers, slaves, farmers and peasants which bore the full brunt of the trade. Their every day lives relied on day to day paychecks, which mandated how they survived. It is the rise and fall of poverty in the peasantry, the social unrest or benefit of the commoners that would reveal the true effect of silver. The majority of all of ... In 1931, Smith Petersen used internal fixation by reducing pain and pressure to the fractured parts followed by immobilization in a spica cast application. Until 1970 another widely spread method called the multiple pin fixation technique was introduced by another orthopedist. In this method the fracture fragments would heal with the insertion of Pugh nails and Richards screws. Both of these methods include a sliding fixation process where the fractured fragments rub against each other. The second type of hip fracture which is repaired more frequently is intertrochanteric hip fracture. The intertrochanteric hip fracture occurs slightly below the neck of the femur and the lesser trochanter. These fractures undergo a treatment that involves the insertion of AO proximal femoral or sliding plates, intramedullary nails, cannulated or dynamic hip screws, and/or rods to balance and protect the fractures. The Impact Of Foreign Policy On International Trade Essay Ever since the first involvement of government in international trade, many people have posed their opinion about what the role of government should be in it. Different factors are involved when it comes to deciding what this should be. It impacts a lot of people, so in order to do that, trade policy must be properly defined, identify what the roles of government currently are, and their involvement in it, and then analyse what should be their role. Trade policy is how a country carries out trade with other countries (Commercial Policy, n.d). Even though a lot of people support government intervention in international trade, countries would benefit a lot more if the government removes protectionism and promotes free trade instead. Trade policy is defined as a collection of rules and regulations that are made by public officials which relate to trade (Trade Policy, 2010). An organisation that makes the rules of trading amongst its member nations is the World Trade Organisation (WTO). They are the ones who handles trade issues, supervises trade policies, gives technical assistance to developing countries and participates with other international trade organisations (World Trade Organisation, n.d). Buddha wants to emphasize that life does not always meet our expectations and this will lead to suffering. People will still be suffering even if there is not an external source, like a disease, because they will feel unfulfilled. The second Noble Truth addresses that suffering comes from a person s desires (Eastern Traditions, p.200). The third Noble truth is that person can end their suffering if they cease their desires (Eastern Traditions, p.200).
