How to Get the Fastest Possible Citrix Logon Times?eG Innovations
Logon is a user's first interaction with the Citrix digital workspace service, and hence, a slow logon can influence a user's opinion of the service in a way that no other metric can. Therefore, logon time is the #1 key performance indicator (KPI) in Citrix environments.
Slow logons have an impact not just on user perception, but also on productivity. When each logon takes minutes — maybe on multiple systems — it results in lost work time and costs the business. So, it is imperative that logons be as quick and non-intrusive as possible. But how can we make this happen?
Learn some of the best practices for Citrix Logon time optimization.

Managing User Experience During Cloud MigrationseG Innovations
Competition in the digital services world is about managing the customer experience. The cloud is an operating model, and migrating workloads to the cloud involves much more than ‘lift & shift’. In fact, the heavy lifting of cloud migrations may be much more about people than technologies.
Managing customer expectations requires that the user experience be at least as good—if not better—after a cloud migration than it was before the migration took place. Customers really don’t care about the ‘cloud’ per se, they care about the outcomes that cloud-based services can provide.
Learn how you can manage customer expectations and leverage services-oriented monitoring as a program of work within a cloud migration.

How to Extend Microsoft SCOM to Monitor & Diagnose the Performance of Citrix,...eG Innovations
Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) is a leading platform for performance monitoring and management of Microsoft applications (such as Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server, Exchange Server, IIS and SharePoint). However, SCOM does not have extensive capabilities to monitor non-Microsoft systems and applications (like Citrix, SAP, Oracle, Java, Sybase, etc.), nor does SCOM have virtualization-awareness for platforms like VMware vSphere, Citrix XenServer, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, AIX LPARs and Solaris LDOMs, or virtual desktops (VDI).
To extend the scope of Microsoft SCOM to manage these environments, enterprises have to look at multiple third party products that provide individual management packs, one for each specific non-Microsoft platform. This traditional "multi-pack approach" creates complexity and only provides a fragmented view of the IT infrastructure. This approach leads to slow problem isolation and diagnosis, and often results in poor user experience and loss of user productivity.
Join performance monitoring expert Srinivas Ramanathan (CEO, eG Innovations) to learn about eG Enterprise for SCOM, a new universal management pack that fills this gap and provides a single, integrated solution with SCOM to address the performance management needs of today's enterprises. This webinar presentation will show you how to:
• Monitor and troubleshoot the entire IT service infrastructure end to end from the SCOM console
• Monitor applications and platforms not natively supported by System Center Operations Manager
• Instantly diagnose and get actionable insight into IT service health and performance
• Provide automatic, rapid root cause diagnosis for even the most complex performance problems
• Receive proactive problem detection and alerting before users call

Beyond Monitoring | Leveraging Unified IT Performance Management for Patient ...eG Innovations
Application and desktop virtualization offer so much promise for smart growth, flexibility and cost savings in healthcare IT today, but along with this potential comes substantial risk. Poor performance and a bad end-user experience can degrade productivity, inflate management costs and, worst of all, negatively impact quality of care and patient satisfaction. At the same time, the healthcare IT infrastructure has increased in both scale and complexity. Hence, administrators struggle to determine when a slowdown happens what is the cause: Citrix? VMware? Storage? Windows? The application?
View these slides from our webinar where, along with HiMSS, Wendy Howard, Infrastructure Engineer with St. Charles Healthcare and Bala Vaidhinathan, CTO with eG Innovations, discussed how implementing unified performance-management powered a transformation from difficult, slow and reactive performance troubleshooting to well-planned, strategic rollouts, proactive maintenance, simple executive reporting and rapid caregiver support.

Make synthetic monitoring a critical part of your IT monitoring strategy: Why...eG Innovations
Many IT monitoring tools fail in the real-world because they are reactive to events that have happened. The first time the IT team knows there is a problem is when the service desk sees a pile of tickets with users complaining that their “application is slow.”
Adding a layer of synthetic monitoring can make ITOps go from being reactive to proactive. This helps the ITOps team to cut down on the number of service desk tickets because you can see where the bottlenecks are before end-users even notice.
While logon simulators are ubiquitous for Citrix and VMware Horizon environments, users really care about whether the applications they use in their job such as SAP, Office, Epic or Salesforce are responsive and usable.
Join us for this webinar where you will learn:
- How to record and automate REAL workflows to test any application – web apps or thick apps within a published desktops like Citrix, VMware Horizon, Amazon WorkSpaces, Microsoft AVD, etc.
- How to check that web apps used by your employees are not just responsive but working as expected – this is critical for businesses that rely on SaaS applications like Office 365 and Salesforce
- How to validate that employees are able to logon to published desktops AND perform routine tasks in applications like SAP and Epic
- How to correlate the performance of the application with the underlying IT infrastructure to determine if bottlenecks are on the users’ network, in the third-party application or within your infrastructure
If you are struggling to be proactive, or to shift from monitoring resources to monitoring the digital experience of your users, then you need to attend this webinar to see just how easy it is to get started with synthetic monitoring.

Troubleshooting application problems is never easy. There’s always a blame game going on between App Dev, IT Ops and DevOps teams to decide where an application problem originated and who owns it. There could be a code-level issue in the application, a long-running query can slow application processing, slow third-party calls are another common problem in the application framework.
In the latest update of our IT monitoring solution, eG Enterprise version 6.3, we’ve introduced new application performance monitoring (APM) capabilities to deliver code-level and query-level visibility for Java and .NET environments. Join this session and learn how the new capabilities will help you extend performance monitoring to solve more complex IT problems.
Key topics to be covered in the webinar:
Real User Monitoring: Track user experience issues in real time
Business Transaction Tracing: Analyze application transactions and identify code-level issues
Converged App & Infra Monitoring: Get correlated insight to pinpoint the root cause of problems: Network? Database? Virtualization? App code?
- Application Performance Management (APM) solutions manage the performance, capacity and availability of dynamic applications from the Cloud or a traditional data center.
- APM aims to diagnose application performance issues to ensure that an expected level of service is maintained.
- As part of this monitoring, two specific sets of parameters are closely tracked.
- The first being performance metrics that define end user experience for an application, the second being metrics for computational resources used by the application for a specific load.
- APM solutions not only monitor and analyze logs but also diagnose problems and assist in pro-active performance management.
- APM is most commonly used for web applications where its components can also be individually monitored to pinpoint reasons for possible delays in the system.
- Neev has partnered with APM solutions like AppDynamics and Splunk to offer them to our customers.

Digital Workspaces and the Customer ExperienceeG Innovations
Customer experience is driving the digital age, and with the number of digital workers exploding the bar for assuring the digital user experience is quickly being raised — and not every enterprise is ready.
Fragmented monitoring approaches can make it all but impossible to connect the dots between complex, heterogeneous technical ecosystems, and the customer’s digital journey. The digital workspace can be a logical first step towards digital transformation but connecting the dots between ‘X-data’ (experience or XLA data) and ‘O-data’ (operational or SLA data) is not trivial.
In this webinar, John Worthington, Director of Customer Success at eG Innovations and an XLA Master, shows us:
-What role the Experience Level Agreement plays in the digital workspace
-The importance of unified, end-user-oriented views of digital workspace performance
-How converged APM/IPM can accelerate your customer experience journey

If you are managing or operating Java-based web applications, you have probably heard your users complain many a time that "the application is slow". After spending hours, you find out that the issue was not your application, but with a third party service that your application relies upon. Web application performance issues can also occur due to code problems, database table locks or slowness on the browser, to name a few reasons.
Learn how to troubleshoot four real-world performance issues with Java-based web applications in minutes.
How to Get the Fastest Possible Citrix Logon Times? Optimization Tips for ...eG Innovations
Logon is a user's first interaction with the Citrix digital workspace service, and hence, a slow logon can influence a user's opinion of the service in a way that no other metric can. Therefore, logon time is the #1 key performance indicator (KPI) in Citrix environments.
Slow logons have an impact not just on user perception, but also productivity. When each logon takes minutes — maybe on multiple systems — it results in lost work time and costs the business. So, it is imperative that logons be as quick and non-intrusive as possible. But how can we make this happen?
Learn some of the best practices for Citrix logon time optimization.
Check out this presentation and learn how the new SaaS-based monitoring service from eG Innovations helps Citrix customers with performance management of their digital workpace environments.

Providing Globus Services to Users of JASMIN for Environmental Data AnalysisGlobus
JASMIN is the UK’s high-performance data analysis platform for environmental science, operated by STFC on behalf of the UK Natural Environment Research Council (NERC). In addition to its role in hosting the CEDA Archive (NERC’s long-term repository for climate, atmospheric science & Earth observation data in the UK), JASMIN provides a collaborative platform to a community of around 2,000 scientists in the UK and beyond, providing nearly 400 environmental science projects with working space, compute resources and tools to facilitate their work. High-performance data transfer into and out of JASMIN has always been a key feature, with many scientists bringing model outputs from supercomputers elsewhere in the UK, to analyse against observational or other model data in the CEDA Archive. A growing number of JASMIN users are now realising the benefits of using the Globus service to provide reliable and efficient data movement and other tasks in this and other contexts. Further use cases involve long-distance (intercontinental) transfers to and from JASMIN, and collecting results from a mobile atmospheric radar system, pushing data to JASMIN via a lightweight Globus deployment. We provide details of how Globus fits into our current infrastructure, our experience of the recent migration to GCSv5.4, and of our interest in developing use of the wider ecosystem of Globus services for the benefit of our user community.
Why React Native as a Strategic Advantage for Startup Innovation.pdfayushiqss
Do you know that React Native is being increasingly adopted by startups as well as big companies in the mobile app development industry? Big names like Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest have already integrated this robust open-source framework.
In fact, according to a report by Statista, the number of React Native developers has been steadily increasing over the years, reaching an estimated 1.9 million by the end of 2024. This means that the demand for this framework in the job market has been growing making it a valuable skill.
But what makes React Native so popular for mobile application development? It offers excellent cross-platform capabilities among other benefits. This way, with React Native, developers can write code once and run it on both iOS and Android devices thus saving time and resources leading to shorter development cycles hence faster time-to-market for your app.
Let’s take the example of a startup, which wanted to release their app on both iOS and Android at once. Through the use of React Native they managed to create an app and bring it into the market within a very short period. This helped them gain an advantage over their competitors because they had access to a large user base who were able to generate revenue quickly for them.

First Steps with Globus Compute Multi-User EndpointsGlobus
In this presentation we will share our experiences around getting started with the Globus Compute multi-user endpoint. Working with the Pharmacology group at the University of Auckland, we have previously written an application using Globus Compute that can offload computationally expensive steps in the researcher's workflows, which they wish to manage from their familiar Windows environments, onto the NeSI (New Zealand eScience Infrastructure) cluster. Some of the challenges we have encountered were that each researcher had to set up and manage their own single-user globus compute endpoint and that the workloads had varying resource requirements (CPUs, memory and wall time) between different runs. We hope that the multi-user endpoint will help to address these challenges and share an update on our progress here.

How to Position Your Globus Data Portal for Success Ten Good PracticesGlobus
Science gateways allow science and engineering communities to access shared data, software, computing services, and instruments. Science gateways have gained a lot of traction in the last twenty years, as evidenced by projects such as the Science Gateways Community Institute (SGCI) and the Center of Excellence on Science Gateways (SGX3) in the US, The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) and its platforms in Australia, and the projects around Virtual Research Environments in Europe. A few mature frameworks have evolved with their different strengths and foci and have been taken up by a larger community such as the Globus Data Portal, Hubzero, Tapis, and Galaxy. However, even when gateways are built on successful frameworks, they continue to face the challenges of ongoing maintenance costs and how to meet the ever-expanding needs of the community they serve with enhanced features. It is not uncommon that gateways with compelling use cases are nonetheless unable to get past the prototype phase and become a full production service, or if they do, they don't survive more than a couple of years. While there is no guaranteed pathway to success, it seems likely that for any gateway there is a need for a strong community and/or solid funding streams to create and sustain its success. With over twenty years of examples to draw from, this presentation goes into detail for ten factors common to successful and enduring gateways that effectively serve as best practices for any new or developing gateway.

....mapping your service topology is another good practice, and if you’re an ITIL shop you may have a heads start hear.... But a services orientation is critical..... clouds deliver services....
A service-oriented monitoring approach may be the single most important thing to look for in a monitor today....services are a means of delivering value and that’s what the business want IT to help them manage....
...but services have to be decomposed...so if you start with the external customers of your business (which is where all value originates)... You’ll need the ability to monitor end-to-end business processes as viewed by the customer...this is one reason why end user experience is so hyped today...so business transaction health is at the top....
But these business transactions are supported by applications...whether they’re delivered in traditional ways or via containers, microservices and other ’cloud-native’ approaches.... We must be able to monitor application health as well...
...and finally, we have to be able to monitor the supporting IT services and infrastructure....not only will your traditional physical and virtual environments require this but your private cloud will have these as well....
so even though cloud computing may be able to provide high levels of resiliency we still need to know what’s going on at all levels--- business transactions, applications and infrastructure.
The challenge in using multiple management packs from different vendors is that there is no integration between the management packs.
Administrators get a lot of metrics about each management pack. But very little actionable information and correlated alerts are available to help them pinpoint the real root-cause of a performance issue. This leads to long problem isolation and diagnosis cycles, resulting in poor user experience and loss in user productivity.
IT operations costs also increase as domain experts end up spending time in routine fire-fighting activities. What administrators need therefore is a single integrated monitoring approach that can support Microsoft and non-Microsoft applications spanning physical and virtual infrastructures.
...we’ll take a look at some of the cloud native technologies as our shift-left series continues--- but for now understand that our unified cloud monitoring solution takes measurements at every layer of every component of an end-to-end IT service, learns the norms of all measurements automatically and through our patented analytics will automatically isolate which layer of which component is the source of a performance issue. We do this across all cloud deployment models -- Public, Private and Hybrid and from code to bare metal....
...so you can unify your monitoring, automatically discover your service topologies, quickly get a performance baseline and accelerate your IT transformation by providing end-to-end transparency to all stakeholders.
....let’s take some questions....
