The graduation ceremonies marked the beginning of the next stage in the lives of the graduates. An

inspirational speech, the message of the speech must fits its audience, fit the speaker and fits the

6. He received no votes from the south, but the popular votes were so widely distributed, that Lincoln

Perhaps Lincoln s greatest achievement as a leader was preserving the union. It was his belief in a
house divided cannot stand that led him towards presidency and preserved the United States of
America. Before Lincoln became President, the country was in turmoil as to keep slavery or abolish it.
It was an issue that was literally ripping this nation apart. Even before Lincoln took office, South
Carolina had seceded from the union. The Southern states tried to put forth constitutional amendments
that would guarantee slavery forever. Lincoln did not like what the southern states wanted to do, so he
convinced all Republicans to vote against the measure which resulted in six more states leaving the

What types of performance measurements might be used to evaluate a restaurant?
I believe that types of performance measurements are used to evaluate a restaurant are quality of
customer service, financial performance, price of meals, quality of food, customer satisfaction, and
operation management. Many people use Yelp to find a restaurant when we want to try a new
restaurant. Yelp has pictures and comments by customers. Most of time customers talk about food and
quality of service. I think that customer satisfaction is the most important to evaluate a restaurant
because it is directly related to their profit. Even though they have great food and cost, there are no
repeating customers with poor performing waitresses/waiters.

The Drum Women At Valley Forge
The book Following the Drum Women at the Valley Forge Encampment gave a very good incite to not
just what it was like for the men at Valley Forge, but what it was like for the women who were there.
In the winter of 1777 8 at Valley Forge there were about one woman of every forty four men (Loane
133). I think book stressed that these women were incredibly helpful in the effort to rebuild this army
through the rough winter, no matter what their job were. Although Washington did not think much of
the women with the army; he once commanded every woman to leave camp, no matter what her
contribution or marital state. The General s unfavorable attitude toward the common camp women did
not extend to all women Valley Forge (4). To me it s interesting that General Washington said this
about the women there, because throughout the book I felt Washington enjoyed the presence of his
wife and the other troop s wives at the encampment. I feel like Americans typically perceive the story
of Valley Forge as a battle. Attacks never came from the British during the time the Continental Army
was at the encampment. They believe that tons of lives were lost there, when in reality, it was just a
place for them to make it through the winter. I think the book reinforces the perceptions of what
happened there since, There was between fifteen hundred and three thousand men that died at Valley
Forge, not from their wounds, but from disease (119). This statement reinforces the fact that no

Paleolithic And Neolithic Revolution
The transition from the Paleolithic period to the Neolithic period marked a major revolution in the
ways that humans lived and the methods that they used their resources. The Paleolithic period, which
lasted from around 40,000 to 8,000 B.C.E, was characterized by hunter gatherers and a nomadic way
of life. These ancient people lived a simplistic life and traveled around, not creating any permanent
settlements because they did not have a deep understanding of how to use their resources. This all
changed when the Neolithic Revolution occurred around the year 8,000 B.C.E, human behavior and
the style of living started to become more complex than ever before. We can see, through the evidence
of ancient artwork created near Mesopotamia, that the transition from the Paleolithic period to the
Neolithic period involved various advances in cultural ideas, the way of living and use of resources.
During the Neolithic Revolution people started to create more permanent settlements. These
settlements popped up in places such as the Fertile Crescent, and in places like these humans let go of
there hunter gather past and leapt into a new life of farming. They set up communities and divided up
labor among residents. Crops were farmed near the villages, and animals were domesticated. Since it
was much easier for people to get their daily needs without moving from place to place, people had a
lot of time on their hands to develop other things such as art and religion. After this advancement
