Groundwater Samples Were Collected And Reported By Sultan...
Groundwater samples were collected and reported by Sultan et al. (2011) from Sinai for isotopic
analyses of H and O from open and productive wells tapping three types of aquifers: (1) fractured
basement, (2) Nubian Sandstone unconfined aquifer cropping out at the foothills of the basement
outcrops, and (3) alluvial. They believed that the unconfined and alluvial aquifers fed by a fractured
basement aquifer through discharging into the overlying sediments. The ÎŽD and ÎŽ18O isotopic
compositions of the groundwater samples from the unconfined Nubian Sandstone aquifers in the
recharge areas cropping out at the foothills of the basement outcrops are somewhat depleted (ÎŽD: 22.7
to 32.8‰; ή18O: 4.47 to 5.22‰) compared to those from fractured basement outcrops (ήD: 19.9 to
23.2‰; ή18O: 3.77 to 5.05‰) and those from alluvial aquifers (ήD: 22.7 to 23.4‰; ή18O: 4.53 to
5.01‰), but they are less depleted than those reported from the Gulf of Suez (Sturchio et al., 1996).
The isotopic compositions of the samples from the fractured basement and alluvial aquifers are similar
to those of average modern precipitation from Al Arish and Rafah (Fig. 3). The unconfined aquifer
shows a mixing between fossil waters of the Western Desert, formed in pluvial period, and modern
precipitation deposited in dry and warm climatic conditions (Sultan et al., 1997, 2011).

Hydrogen and oxygen show a wide range of isotopic ratios for Eastern Desert groundwater samples,

The Identity Of Capoeira And Ballet Dance
This essay sets out to show how the identity of capoeira and ballet dance has been encompassed
within multiple different countries. The historical themes of globalisation and adaptation will prove to
deepen ones understanding into the history of ballet and capoeira dance. Through the classification of
Ballet and Capoeira dance the cultural traditions of the dance styles will be projected.
Haskell explains the significance of the word classical , it implies a set of rules that are rigid, that have
developed over a long period . The globalisation of ballet aids also in the characteristics of ballet as a
dance form. Classical is a term which is closely linked to ballet. (Greskovic, 2005, pp. 5 10)
The word Ballet stems from the Italian word Ballo deriving from the Italian verb to dance. The use of
the Italian term ballo (referring to dancing to varied rhythms) instead of the Italian verb danza (to
dance) did not only represented the inclusion of Italy into the ballet history timeline, but also it
indefinitely transformed the culture of ballet as it was known until that time in the mid thirties of the
seventeenth century (Greskovic, 2005, p. 6) The identity of ballet during its early development stages
(pre twentieth century) shows how language can be used to enrich ballet. (Arthenia.com, no date)

Nonverbal Expectance Violation Theory
As I researched various theories, the Nonverbal Expectancy Violation Theory stood out to me the
most. Neuliep (2015) has described this theory as people holding expectancies about the
appropriateness of the nonverbal behaviors of others. The Nonverbal Expectancy Theory (NEV) was
formulated by Dr. Judee Burgoon. Sidelinger and Bolen (2015) states the basic tenet undergirding
NEV theory holds that individuals have expectations of how things will be and how people will
behave. Sidelinger and Bolen also states that expectancy refers to what an individual expects or
predicts will happen in an interaction. When we make an assumption, we are partaking in
expectancies. Burgoon (as cited by Sidelinger and Biolen, 2015) notes that what we expect in an
interaction is based on three factors, context, relationship, and communicator characteristics.
Sidelinger and Bolen (2015) believes that our expectancy can be determined by our environment. For
an example, the way I communicate at the playground with my children is different than how I
communicate at the grocery store. The expectancy of relationships is based on the connection we have
with the person with whom we are interacting with. Finally, Sidelinger and Bolen (2015), states that
communicator characteristics refer to the demographics (gender, age, race etc.) of the other in the
interaction and additional characteristics such as the other s communication style.
Additionally, the perception of how we view someone plays a role in how we expect them to react or
interact. If I am playing with a Poodle, I expect it to be fun, playful, and bubbly. If I am playing with a
Rottweiler, I expect it to be aggressive and assertive. While these are my expectancy of the dogs it
could turn out to be the opposite of my assumption. There are two types of expectancies. Predictive
and prescriptive. Offering a counterpoint to this perspective is nonverbal expectancy violations theory,
which posits that violating social norms and expectations may sometimes be a superior strategy to
conformity in achieving such communication outcomes as attraction, credibility, helping behavior, and
persuasion, Burgoon and Aho,; Burgoon, Coker, and Coker, Burgoon and Hale; Burgoon and Jones;

Website Use Greatly Increases Knowledge of Breast Cancer
It is the second leading cause of death in the United States, killing thousands of people each year.
Cancer has certainly become a growing epidemic in our society, and breast cancer is one of its most
prevalent forms. One in nine women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime, making it the most
common form of cancer in women, and for many of them, this will mark the end of their life. This
plague clearly needs to be taken under control, and organizations like the National Alliance of Breast
Cancer Organizations (NABCO) intend to do just that.
NABCO and other similar organizations aim to educate people about breast cancer in order to

the user back to this page whenever they have gone elsewhere. Right beneath its name on its
homepage, NABCO writes its slogan: The more you know, the less you fear. These words alone really
seem to state their goal right away this is an informative and educational site. Women who are
educated about breast cancer are not only more likely to take the necessary precautions to avoid
developing the disease, but also are more inclined to know how to deal with it if they do find this
disease plaguing their lives. Therefore, educated women have less to fear, making this slogan very
accurate to NABCO s purpose. This slogan also does a lot to establish the site s pathos appeal.
Mentioning such an emotion as fear in conjunction with breast cancer causes women to want to find
out more about the disease in an attempt to avoid this fear invading their own lives.
NABCO has been operating for seventeen years now, and, as it states on its homepage, is the leading
non profit information and education resource on breast cancer in the U.S. This statement says a lot
about NABCO s credibility, really developing its ethos appeal. However, it also says a lot about the
organization s purpose. Since it is a non profit organization, it is truly believable that its sole intent is
to educate, rather than

History Of The Constellation
he explains most of his article on Lockheed s creation, the Constellation. If you have any interest of
aviation this article would be a great read. The Constellation was the first pressurized airliner, also the
first tricycle gear airliner. The Constellation was a war fighter. The Constellation was mostly used
during World War II. Lockheed wanted to make something big, and they did. The Constellation was
used to carry lots of cargo, from troops to supplies.
It was a part of aviation history, and the Constellation was built by the famous Lockheed Martin
corporation. This article will give information that some might not even heard of. The author starts
from the beginning, how the Constellation began on its journey. There was a lot of models ... Show

Through Pan American World Airways (Pan Am) and TWA partnering, the Constellation was finally in
the airliner business. When the Constellation airlines started they only allowed service between New
York and Paris. But no longer than a month, they started running service between New York and Los
Angeles. Back then even airplane cost a lot. The amount that a Constellation cost was between
$685,000 to $720,000. Now a days that s 7 8 million dollars, and that s just the cost of one
Constellation. TWA and Pan Am got a deal from the Government when they bought the airplanes.
Well there is no clear evidence it can easily be seen why they were so cheap. The Constellations weren
t in great shape. They were a part of World War II, and most of them probably had bullet holes in
them, and were in bad shape.
Like I said earlier the Constellation had its ups and downs. It seemed to have served great during the
war and was fit for the right job. After the war while the Constellation was in airline service two
people have died while taking flight. One passenger s window popped off and he was sucked right out,
another was sitting next to a cabin window and that popped off as well and he was too sucked out of
the Constellation. But even after these incidents People still had the nerve to fly in the Constellation. If
it was up to me I would have said no instantly. Hearing about this now has made me skeptical to fly

Throgs Neck in the Movie Summer of Same Directed by Spike Lee
If you have ever heard or watched the movie Summer of Sam, an American crime movie directed by
Spike Lee in 1999 than you would know filming took place in a Bronx neighborhood called Throgs
Neck. In fact, I have recently discovered that filming took place right on my block. Located in the
Northwestern part of the Bronx, from what I have observed Throgs Neck is manly a one to two family
suburb area with the exception of some apartment buildings. Throgs Neck has many events throughout
the year, known for its parades such as the annual St. Patrick s Parade and the Veterans Day Parade,
which take place on East Tremont Avenue.

If you are driving into Throgs Neck then you will notice its main highways the Cross Bronx
Expressway and the Throgs Neck Bridge. The Throgs Neck Bridge connects the Bronx to Queens. The
area Throgs Neck once was Vriedelandt later changed to Throgs Neck. For a while, people have been
arguing whether or not Throgs Neck has two GG s or one. The name Throgs Neck originally comes
from an English man named John Throckmorton who was able to stay as the Dutch had allowed him
to, in 1642. Ultimately, the American Indians drove out the Dutch. By the 19th century, land and
developers started to appear. Many landowner sold their properties to developers. Shortly after private
homes started to appear. An interesting fact about Throgs Neck is that it was once a summer resort that
would explain why as of today beach clubs are still open; many of them have been around for over 50
years now. A historical event in the neighborhood of Throgs Neck was in 1961 when the Throgs Neck
Bridge was finally completed. Few Throgs Neck homes, including three rental apartment buildings
and Throgs Neck Houses, one of the Bronx s first low income city projects, are more than seven
blocks from a bay, creek inlet, or river. Because the waterfront is so accessible, many families belong
to one or more small beach and fishing clubs along Shore Drive and Clarence Avenue (Dolan 1984).

A New Position As Director Of Industrial Operations
In November 1981, I began the new position as Director of Industrial Operations (DIO). There was
much work to do.: The bus availability was u, unacceptable, the Commissary had a terrible reputation,
and there was no security plan; important as the DIO was also the Security, Plans, and Operations

Community Shuttle Bus route that would take people from the housing areas to the Commissary. We
implemented both plans a week later. We advertised the new shuttle bus and I road it often to ensure
its timeliness and utilization. I hired a security officer to write a plan and coordinate it with all the

Business Rules and Business Intelligence
Business Intelligence projects start out as a simple report or request for an extract of data. Once the
base data is aggregated then the next request usually is about summing data or creating more reports
that have different views to the data sets. Before long complex logic comes into play and the metrics
coming out of the system are very important to many corporate wide citizens. Centrally managed
business rules enable BI projects to draw from the business know how of a company and to work with
consistent sets of business logic – they are what add the intelligence to business intelligence. (pg14)
Once reports are no longer a straightforward representation of base data they begin to depend more
and more on business rules. The term ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to achieve a consistent business definition across an organization the individual departments
need to share and become aware of how this data can heavily influence what they know to be true and
how other interpret what is true. It helps to drive consistency by encoding business logic and can be
defined as a specialized version of business rules. According to the article only 20% of organizations
practice MDM as a separate solution. (pg15)
An independent business logic component should look like a set of rules that are shared among
departments that directly interface with the business users and IT systems, eliminating the need for
developers to write programming code. Experts call such a thing a business rules engine but there
different schools of thought on the term. Some people think that it is a software application that can be
used to capture to business know how and can interpret operational data to gain insight. Others think
that it resembles something akin to AI (artificial intelligence) or expert systems that interpret the
implications of business rules on a set of data. Whatever method is chosen as path forward it is
important that businesspeople can review the existing rules and make modifications to a rules engine.
The rules should be documented and formulated in a natural language (language that a plain speaking
business person can understand) so that a business

Analysis Of Michael Chorost s My Bionic Quest For Bolero
God creates every day and every day is a miracle. The New Oxford Dictionary defines a miracle as, a
surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is, therefore,
considered to be the work of a divine agency. Everything that is experienced from morning until night
is a miracle. Though these marvels are amazing, they are taken for granted. Things like listening to
music, walking, talking, smelling, and living are all Gods miracles and are all taken for granted. All
these gifts from God are forgotten or regarded as a given like they will always be there, they will
never go away. But what happens when they aren t there? For some people, that s called every day. In
Michael Chorost s My Bionic Quest for Boléro revealed that Chorost could not listen to music, let
alone take it for granted. There are many others who have a similar or the same obstacle, as in they do
not have one or more of their five senses. This can make daily living difficult and unenjoyable.
Making regular activities or participation in everyday life impossible. Further research should be
invested in helping people revel in the joy of everyday miracles. When taking part in a seemingly
uncomplicated task for the first time and being quote on quote normal with normal experiences, even
something wonderfully mundane can bring immense joy. New abilities bring new experiences and
outlooks, they open endless possibilities. In Michael Chorost s article, My Bionic

Celebrity Worship Is A Common Day Ritual
Nowadays, celebrity worship is considered a common day ritual, as it is performed by millions of
people around the world. However, this practice has been a disease to the world and continues to
conflict the youth with deranged goals and aspirations. Misconceptions of what an idealistic worship
lifestyle are inevitable, considering that the definition of a worshipper gets modified every year. The
primary reasons as to why Celebrity Worship is a poison to the world and why it must be stopped is
due to the fact that it distracts the person from focusing on what is important in life, it provides an
unstable relationship with a celebrity which can get psychotic, and it can create inadequate goals and

Weishar also gives an example on the fact that although there are people who do not give in to the
hype that the media creates on these celebrities, there are still millions of people who buy into it. Not
everyone buys into this corporate pop culture non sense, and not all pop culture is created by
corporations. Social media has allowed us to create our own pop culture behind the scenes, but at the
same time we follow trends more than ever and they are often dictated by celebrities on outlets like
twitter. Celebrities like Kardashian who get paid $10,000 every time she promotes a product in 140
characters or less (par. 13). In a society that has been enveloped by social media, these celebrities have
more power than ever before, and they utilize this niche by creating several social trends that they
know the majority will follow. With new trends created every day, and celebrities dictating on how
people should live their lives, how does this benefit the population on focusing on what s necessary?
Aside from the distractions that it causes, celebrity worship creates delusional relationships with these
idols. They create a connection with celebrities and due to their obsession, they will feel as if they
have became friends with the idol, even though the idol has not met the person. This creates an image
of a false connection being made with a celebrity who does not even

Executive Summary:
Global food demand is expected to grow by 110 per cent over the next 30 to 35 years as a
consequence of increased urbanization and the predicted rise in global population from 7.3 billion
today to 9.7 billion by 20501. Overlying this scenario are changes in the global climate that will affect
crop productivity. Cassava is the second most important source of calories after maize in some African
countries, like Angola and Mozambique, but for the rural poor, it represents a much larger proportion
of daily calories and provides an important source of proteins, vitamins and micronutrients1. The
vision for cassava is that cassava will spur rural industrial development and raise incomes for
producers, processors and traders and contribute to the food security status of its producing and
consuming households6.
The strategy applied can consist of identifying, in a systematic manner, the opportunities and
constraints of cassava at each stage of the commodity development cycle. The opportunities to
increase efficiency of cassava crop mainly relies on the modification of the structure and architecture,
and improving the genetic yield of the crop6.

The Abolitionist movement, on the other hand, is the general reaction people against the practice of

William Glasser’s Choice Theory Essay
Dr. William Glasser was a distinguished psychiatrist and author known for his distinctive views about
mental illness. Glasser broke away from the traditional model of psychotherapy in the early 1960s to
develop his own model of counseling. Dr. Glasser began with the development of therapy before he
developed his theoretical stance. Glasser created what is known as Reality Therapy. Glasser first
defined Reality Therapy as a therapy that leads all patients toward reality, towards grappling
successfully with tangible and intangible aspects of the real world (p.6).
In 1967, he founded The Institute for Reality Therapy. In 1969, Glasser published Schools Without

He offers choice theory to replace external control and has dedicated the remainder of his life to
teaching and supporting this idea.
After almost 20 years without a theory, Glasser published Control Theory in 1984. In essence, reality
therapy was the art of change, and control theory was the theory of what needed to be changed and
why. Howatt (2001).
In 1996, Glasser announced that he was going to start referring to what had hitherto been control
theory, as choice theory, and in 1998 published Choice Theory: A New Psychology of Personal
Freedom. Glasser felt that the term control was misleading and suggestive of coercion.
In this book, Glasser greatly expanded the understanding of motivation and behavior. He and then
added, Warning: Psychiatry Can Be Hazardous to Your Mental Health (2003), to help people improve
their mental health and happiness. In 2005 he produced a booklet, Defining Mental Health as a Public
Health Issue to provide a new resource for mental health professionals. Finally, in 2007, Eight Lessons
for a Happier Marriage, which he co authored with his wife, Carleen, became his third book to help
couples learn important tools for improving their relationship.

there is something organically wrong with the brain that can be confirmed by a pathologist. He was

Child Labour Around the World
Child Labor lingers among all
Introduction Child labor has been an enormous issue lingering amongst our world today, but yet
people d not realize that it is still occurring more often in developing countries. Throughout the last
few decades, child labor has been declining in many countries. However, more than 250 million
children between the ages of 5 and 14 are still working ( Child labor around, 2013). Some sort of child
labor exists in each country due to weak economic structure and lack of regulations. These children
are often forced to work under hazardous conditions, which can be identified as child labor ( Child
labor around, 2013). Many of these children s childhood are taken away from them as well as an
opportunity to gain an education. They lose the opportunity to understand what it is like to have a
normal childhood. Children in poverty end up with no choice but to work under extremely hazardous
conditions. Children are often viewed as cheap labor which leads to corporations taking advantage of
child labor to look for an opportunity of increasing their profits. Corporations often have overseas
subcontractors that use child labor as a method of maximizing profits ( Child labor around, 2013).
Child labor often occurs to the poverty trap cycle , which means children lacking an education lead
towards the work path. The poverty trap cycle is classified as a cause and effect; the first step of
eliminating child labor is elimination of poverty. The concept

followed me throughout my life ever since. I now attend a performing arts magnet high school for
choral performance.
Singing, to me, is something that defines who I am because I have been doing it for so long. I have
spent countless hours in voice lessons, rehearsals, practicing, recitals, and concerts that I do not know
what my life would be without it. Being a vocal student has allowed me to express myself in a unique
way that brings joy to others.
I love music because it has the ability to transform someone s day just by listening to it. In my
opinion, it is one of the few art forms that is effortless for others to experience because there

Finding Meaning in Albert Camus’ The Plague Essay
Finding Meaning in Albert Camus The Plague Socrates, a Greek philosopher, once said that the
unexamined life is not worth living (Apology 38b). Like Socrates, Albert Camus believed that a man
needs to live meaningfully. In his novel The Plague Camus creates characters who are forced to think,
reflect, and assume responsibility for living as they battle an epidemic of bubonic plague that is
ravaging the Algerian port of Oran. For ten months as the outbreak isolates the city from the rest of the
world, each of the citizens reacts in a unique way. Camus main characters undergo both individual and
social transformations. Dr. Bernard Rieux, the narrator and central character, is one of the first people
in Oran to recognize the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rieux believes that man has to do what is necessary while he is alive and must believe in humanity: . .
. Rieux was thinking it was only right that those whose desires are limited to man and his humble yet
formidable love should enter, if only now and then, into their reward (Camus 301). When the gates of
Oran are opened, Rieux writes a chronicle of the plague hoping to teach others a lesson. He wants
them to witness the admirable qualities in men and the injustice they endure. As a doctor he knows
that the plague bacillus can lie dormant for long periods and then resurface. Although man may never
be the victor over the plague and the loss of life it inflicts, he can better manage life s adversities in the
future. Another important character is Raymond Rambert, a Parisian journalist, who goes through a
metamorphosis over the course of the epidemic. He finds himself trapped in Oran when the gates of
the city are closed. This determined young man tries to escape in any way possible because he feels
that Oran s problems are none of his concern since he is an outsider. Rambert s appeals to the civil
authorities are unsuccessful. He asks Dr. Rieux to help his cause and is enraged when Rieux refuses.
He then offers money to smugglers for his escape. Later during an exchange Rieux tells him: . . . for
nothing in the world would I try to dissuade you from what you re going to do; it seems to me
absolutely right and proper.

Examples Of Altruism In The Movie The Hobbit

Does Altruism Exist?
In many movies and shows there are an abundant acts of selfless altruism. Altruism is a selfless act
that someone does without asking for anything in return. An example of altruism in a movie is The
Hobbit . In this movie, the hero helps someone in need without expecting anything in return. In a
movie like the Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, who is the main character, journeys with the dwarf king to help
his kingdom in need. Knowing he could be brutally killed in a face of a battle or by the dragon. His act
of selfless altruism even saves someone life. Altruism exist and movie like this is simply reflect the
alterium we practice in real world.
The philosopher, Thomas Hobbes, believes that people do good things because it makes them feel
good not because they are trying to do a good deed for something in return. Hobbes might say that
Bilbo Baggins only helps others because he would have felt bad if he did not. Therefore, Hobbes
would say that altruism does not exist in this movie. Another philosopher, Joseph Butler, disagree with
Hobbes. He believes that humans do good deeds because they have an inner sense of benevolence. He
might suggest that Bilbo Baggins s does have altruism. My view is that is that Bilbo Baggins show a
behavior of altruism not because he just simply felt good after doing it. He did it because it is a good
thing to do.
According to Samir Okasha, a biologist from Stanford, altruism comes from our human biology.
Altruism also exists all around us and in many species. Individuals can gain so much from the act of
altruism. Okaska suggest that people do carry a gene to be altruism it exist within us all. Within
human beings we have a biological need to survive. The reason altruism exist is so we all can have a
chance of survival. Selfishness exist in order to increase the chance of an individual to survive.
According to Scott, Selfishness does not do well at the between group level, because it harms the
group s chances of survival. This is why we have organized groups who tend have the authority to
punishment mechanisms like prisons or exile to prevent freeloading or other selfish behavior (Suttie).
My view is that people

One of the studies I found talked about how men and women...
One of the studies I found talked about how men and women differ in confronting their significant
other about extra partner affairs. The author of this study, Barry X. Khule, had trained undergraduate
students watch and code fifty one episodes of the reality television show Cheaters (Khule, 2011).
Individuals who believed they were being cheated on called the show and asked that the Cheater s
Detective Agency (CDA) follow their significant other around for weeks. Then, the CDA provided the
victim with video surveillance footage to show whether or not their significant other had actually been
cheating on them. The show then gave the victim a chance to confront the cheating mate. The
confrontation was also videotaped as part of the show ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Men are believed to have evolved an adaptation for jealousy because if a man s significant other was
unfaithful, it reduced the man s chances of reproducing and passing along his genes to the next
generation. On the other hand, women are believed to have evolved an adaptation for jealousy because
if a woman s significant other was unfaithful, she would lose her source of resources, protection, and
attention (Buss Haselton, 2005).
This article also states that men find it harder to forgive a sexual infidelity and women find it harder to
forgive an emotional infidelity. Evolutionary psychologists believe that women are drawn to men
based on their resources (e.g. money, family, health) and that men are drawn to women based on their
physical appearance (e.g. body shape, size, facial attractiveness). When men feel as though they are in
jeopardy of infidelity, they engage in what the authors of the article call jealous mate guarding ,
especially during their woman s time of ovulation each month. When women feel that their resource
endowed man may be more attracted to another woman, they also engage in jealous mate guarding
(Buss Haselton, 2005). In my opinion, jealousy can be a big problem, but it doesn t have to be. It all
depends on the couple and how compatible they are with each other. A little jealousy can be a good
thing; it means that people care about each other and are afraid to lose one another. However, there is
a point where

VITAMINS
Introduction
Vitamins are organic food substances found only in living things, i.e. plants and animals. They are
essential for our bodies to function properly, for growth, energy and for our general well being. With
very few exceptions the human body cannot manufacture or synthesize vitamins. They must be
supplied in our diet or in man made dietary supplements. Some people believe that vitamins can
replace food, but that is incorrect. In fact, vitamins cannot be assimilated without also ingesting food.
That is why it is best to take them with a meal.
They are found in very small quantities in food; certain health specialists recommend taking vitamin
supplements to increase the supplies in food, while others insist that a ... Show more content on

Vitamin A
Vitamin A, also called retinol, has many functions in the body. In addition to helping the eyes adjust to
light changes, vitamin A plays an important role in bone growth, tooth development, reproduction, cell
division, gene expression, and regulation of the immune system. The skin, eyes, and mucous
membranes of the mouth, nose, throat and lungs depend on vitamin A to remain moist. Vitamin A is
also an important antioxidant that may play a role in the prevention of certain cancers.
Food Sources for Vitamin A: Eating a wide variety of foods is the best way to ensure that the body
gets enough vitamin A. The retinol, retinal, and retinoic acid forms of vitamin A are supplied primarily
by foods of animal origin such as dairy products, fish and liver. Some foods of plant origin contain the
antioxidant, betacarotene, which the body converts to vitamin A. Beta carotene, comes from fruits and
vegetables, especially those that are orange or dark green in color. Vitamin A sources also include
carrots, pumpkin, winter squash, dark green leafy vegetables and apricots, all of which are rich in beta
carotene. Vitamin D
Vitamin D plays a critical role in the body s use of calcium and phosphorous. It works by increasing
the amount of calcium absorbed from the small intestine, helping to form and maintain bones. Vitamin
D benefits the body by playing a role in immunity and controlling cell growth. Children

Analysis Of The Duel In Founding Brothers
Joseph J Ellis included The Duel in his book, Founding Brothers to show the extreme complexity
behind the relationship between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr. This duel is normally
represented in a short few lines that includes the date, the location, the outcome, and little details
about the fashion in which they dueled. Although these representations are short and concise, they do
not give the duel the justice it deserves. Ellis model does so by adding a lot more detail to help the
audience understand it was more than a short and random interaction. Ellis explains how in order to
understand the duel, one must examine the many and intricate causes of it, rather than what actually
happened in those few seconds on top of the cliff in Weehawken, New Jersey. Ellis record of the most
famous duel in American History can be used as a historical reference for the songs Your Obedient
Servant and The World Was Wide Enough that are a part of the Hamilton soundtrack. One thing that
was made sure after reading this book and listening to this song is that Lin Manuel Miranda did his
research and made the songs in his soundtrack as historically accurate as possible. Your Obedient
Servant is the song in the musical that reference the letters Hamilton and Burr wrote back and forth
leading up to the duel. These letters speaks about their many interactions in which one of them won
over the other. Hamilton did many things in order to keep Burr away from gaining powerful positions

Community Digital Art
Many artists around the world work with a canvas, on paper, and many other ways of drawing, even
since computers and technology became mainstream artist have also started using the digital world as
their canvas. I started digital art when I first started on the computer and I ve been hooked ever since.
Digital art is a great way of drawing without making a mess on your desk, it s all accomplished in files
and programs on your computer. In the beginning there wasn t really any programs that allowed you to
freely draw what you wanted. When Windows XP first came out, many creative minds started to
realize there was a program called Paint on their desktop. Paint wasn t a very cutting edge program but
it was advanced for its time and many digital artists started with it. I actually believe that it is indeed
much easier to use a computer to draw than it is on a canvas or ... Show more content on

The Birthmark By Judith Fetterley
Beauty can be defined as the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep
satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations, a meaningful design or pattern,
or something else. In The Birthmark it is a tragic and upsetting example of what beauty, gender, and
science represent. Georgiana was devoted to make her husband Alymer happy by jeopardizing her life
so he wouldn t suffer from considering her birthmark. Thus potential perfection is not worth a life.
Analyzing the gender aspect of the story can be explained by Judith Fetterley. She wrote an article
called Women Beware Science: The Birthmark . Alymer simply looks at his wife as someone he can
control and wants nothing for her but to be perfect. Fetterley says, It is the demonstration of how to
murder your wife and get away with it. This story brings a lot of talk of sexual politics and the way
women are sometimes looked at in society. The way some society members describe women are
supposed to honor the man and never have any power over the man, in The Birthmark it is clear that
Alymer looks at Georgiana as a women that is his own property and should be perfect in every aspect
according to him. The gender portion comes into play when the question is asked, what if it was a man
obsession with another man to be perfect or a woman obsession for a man to be perfect? In The
Birthmark Alymer did not wish for Aminadab his servant to be perfect. It is all about gender

Drug Trafficking Persuasive Speech
A 16 year old boy named Jimmy went to a party for one of his fellow classmates party. Little did he
know what was gonna be at the party. He showed up and had been having a good time until he got
asked if he wanted to smoke. Luckily he declined it and left the party after that happened. He was
appalled that somebody in his grade and so young be doing those things and how in the world could
they even get them. Well that is from drug trafficking. Drug trafficking is a illicit trade involving the
cultivation, manufacture, distribution and sale of substances which are subject to drug prohibition.
Drugs are brought into the U.S. every day, so much that it s become almost effortless to get drugs.
Drugs are a major and growing problem in the U.S.. According to the Center for Disease Control and
Prevention, In 2014 a total of 47,055 drug overdose deaths occurred in the U.S. In additional to this

important and popular topic, it should not be put to the side, yet how are we going to solve those

One of those things are drugs, so first we have to figure out how to cure drug trafficking before we can
lead onto many other problems. Drugs are a major and growing problem in the U.S.. It has become a
national problem and is affecting and ruining many lives of people and their families. It needs to be

praising the smartwatch for its, incredible set of fitness features with top notch notifications (para. 35).
Leinbach Reyhle (2016) reports that the trend of wearable technology continues to grow, adding that
consumers spent over $2 billion on wearable technology in 2015, with expectations to spend even
more in the years to come. Through a functional analysis of cost based and market based pricing
structures, it becomes apparent that using a market based approach to develop a cost structure for the
Vivoactive has the potential to generate the most profit for Garmin, due to competitive factors, the
inexpensive nature of many components, and the relatively new introduction of the technology.
Market Based Pricing Market based pricing begins with evaluating market trends, competitor
products, and consumer demand, to determine how the customer s willingness to pay the asking price
for the product (Grand Canyon University, 2016). Products in high demand, like trendy, cutting edge
electronics, usually sell for a high price at first, at least until the item becomes more common, at

The Election Of The Parti Quebecois
With the recent provincial election victory of the Parti Québécois, the nation of Canada will encounter
many upcoming challenges in a fierce battle that will ensue, sparked by the Parti Québécois, in an
attempt to achieve a sovereign Quebec. These challenges will require immediate and effective action
on issues regarding the Parti Québécois platform centering on the objective of achieving a sovereign
Quebec. Canadian national unity is at risk and being challenged with the election of the Parti
Québécois and through the separatist movement gaining strength within Quebec. The election of the
Parti Québécois is an indisputable reality that demonstrates the emergence of the separatist movement
progressing and gaining sway in Quebec. This poses an extremely dangerous threat to the nation of
Canada, as national unity is at the forefront of present day Canadian issues and being pushed to the
breaking point. The separation movement in Quebec is reaching drastic heights that have not been
witnessed before throughout the history of Canada and I urge you, Mr. Pierre Elliott Trudeau, to act
immediately via taking a number of suggested actions that will result in the satisfaction of the
residents of Quebec. It is crucial to take immediate action to please the Parti Québécois and citizens of
Quebec simultaneously to ensure a unified Canada and in order to impede the separatist movement.

The Decline Of Alcoholic Beverages
The earliest alcoholic beverages may have been made from berries or and winemaking may have
originated in the wild grape regions of the Middle East. (Hanson, 1995). A variety of alcoholic
beverages have been used in China since prehistoric times China perceived alcohol as spiritual food
rather than a material food (Hanson, 1995). From the earliest recorded use of alcohol, drinking has
been a social activity, and both consumption and behavior have been subject to self imposed social
controls. The future of children who grow up in alcoholic families. (1) The term Adult Children of
Alcoholics also referred to as ACA s has become more popular in the psychology /mental health

According to NIAAA, more than half of Americans have at least one close relative with a drinking

more likely to suffer physical and sexual abuse and neglect and to develop psychological problems.
Women who drink during pregnancy run a serious risk of damaging their fetuses. Relatives and friends

Analysis Of Starry Sky Starry Night
Starry! Starry! Starry! Seated around a giant table, the bandits chanted his name as placed his

Sighing, Starry turned to the source: Gerard. Huge frame shaking from laughter, he grabbed a nearby
cup and downed it, spilling ale into his dark beard. Tossing it aside, he beamed at Starry. Few more o

the man slapped his hand away and held it tightly. Don t touch it, please. He certainly wasn t trying to

Erika watched. You wanna hand it to that guy, be my guest! Clutching the paper, he rose and stepped

  • 2. Groundwater Samples Were Collected And Reported By Sultan... Groundwater samples were collected and reported by Sultan et al. (2011) from Sinai for isotopic analyses of H and O from open and productive wells tapping three types of aquifers: (1) fractured basement, (2) Nubian Sandstone unconfined aquifer cropping out at the foothills of the basement outcrops, and (3) alluvial. They believed that the unconfined and alluvial aquifers fed by a fractured basement aquifer through discharging into the overlying sediments. The ÎŽD and ÎŽ18O isotopic compositions of the groundwater samples from the unconfined Nubian Sandstone aquifers in the recharge areas cropping out at the foothills of the basement outcrops are somewhat depleted (ÎŽD: 22.7 to 32.8‰; ÎŽ18O: 4.47 to 5.22‰) compared to those from fractured basement outcrops (ÎŽD: 19.9 to 23.2‰; ÎŽ18O: 3.77 to 5.05‰) and those from alluvial aquifers (ÎŽD: 22.7 to 23.4‰; ÎŽ18O: 4.53 to 5.01‰), but they are less depleted than those reported from the Gulf of Suez (Sturchio et al., 1996). The isotopic compositions of the samples from the fractured basement and alluvial aquifers are similar to those of average modern precipitation from Al Arish and Rafah (Fig. 3). The unconfined aquifer shows a mixing between fossil waters of the Western Desert, formed in pluvial period, and modern precipitation deposited in dry and warm climatic conditions (Sultan et al., 1997, 2011). 6.3.6. • 3. The Identity Of Capoeira And Ballet Dance This essay sets out to show how the identity of capoeira and ballet dance has been encompassed within multiple different countries. The historical themes of globalisation and adaptation will prove to deepen ones understanding into the history of ballet and capoeira dance. Through the classification of Ballet and Capoeira dance the cultural traditions of the dance styles will be projected. Haskell explains the significance of the word classical , it implies a set of rules that are rigid, that have developed over a long period . The globalisation of ballet aids also in the characteristics of ballet as a dance form. Classical is a term which is closely linked to ballet. (Greskovic, 2005, pp. 5 10) The word Ballet stems from the Italian word Ballo deriving from the Italian verb to dance. The use of the Italian term ballo (referring to dancing to varied rhythms) instead of the Italian verb danza (to dance) did not only represented the inclusion of Italy into the ballet history timeline, but also it indefinitely transformed the culture of ballet as it was known until that time in the mid thirties of the seventeenth century (Greskovic, 2005, p. 6) The identity of ballet during its early development stages (pre twentieth century) shows how language can be used to enrich ballet. (Arthenia.com, no date) Here we can see a typical picture of Louis XIV the sun king , king of France during the renaissance age, he proved influential in the initial identification of ... • 4. Nonverbal Expectance Violation Theory As I researched various theories, the Nonverbal Expectancy Violation Theory stood out to me the most. Neuliep (2015) has described this theory as people holding expectancies about the appropriateness of the nonverbal behaviors of others. The Nonverbal Expectancy Theory (NEV) was formulated by Dr. Judee Burgoon. Sidelinger and Bolen (2015) states the basic tenet undergirding NEV theory holds that individuals have expectations of how things will be and how people will behave. Sidelinger and Bolen also states that expectancy refers to what an individual expects or predicts will happen in an interaction. When we make an assumption, we are partaking in expectancies. Burgoon (as cited by Sidelinger and Biolen, 2015) notes that what we expect in an interaction is based on three factors, context, relationship, and communicator characteristics. Sidelinger and Bolen (2015) believes that our expectancy can be determined by our environment. For an example, the way I communicate at the playground with my children is different than how I communicate at the grocery store. The expectancy of relationships is based on the connection we have with the person with whom we are interacting with. Finally, Sidelinger and Bolen (2015), states that communicator characteristics refer to the demographics (gender, age, race etc.) of the other in the interaction and additional characteristics such as the other s communication style. Additionally, the perception of how we view someone plays a role in how we expect them to react or interact. If I am playing with a Poodle, I expect it to be fun, playful, and bubbly. If I am playing with a Rottweiler, I expect it to be aggressive and assertive. While these are my expectancy of the dogs it could turn out to be the opposite of my assumption. There are two types of expectancies. Predictive and prescriptive. Offering a counterpoint to this perspective is nonverbal expectancy violations theory, which posits that violating social norms and expectations may sometimes be a superior strategy to conformity in achieving such communication outcomes as attraction, credibility, helping behavior, and persuasion, Burgoon and Aho,; Burgoon, Coker, and Coker, Burgoon and Hale; Burgoon and Jones; Burgoon, ... Website Use Greatly Increases Knowledge of Breast Cancer It is the second leading cause of death in the United States, killing thousands of people each year. Cancer has certainly become a growing epidemic in our society, and breast cancer is one of its most prevalent forms. One in nine women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime, making it the most common form of cancer in women, and for many of them, this will mark the end of their life. Right beneath its name on its homepage, NABCO writes its slogan: The more you know, the less you fear. These words alone really seem to state their goal right away this is an informative and educational site. Women who are educated about breast cancer are not only more likely to take the necessary precautions to avoid developing the disease, but also are more inclined to know how to deal with it if they do find this disease plaguing their lives. Therefore, educated women have less to fear, making this slogan very accurate to NABCO s purpose. This slogan also does a lot to establish the site s pathos appeal. Mentioning such an emotion as fear in conjunction with breast cancer causes women to want to find out more about the disease in an attempt to avoid this fear invading their own lives. NABCO has been operating for seventeen years now, and, as it states on its homepage, is the leading non profit information and education resource on breast cancer in the U.S. This statement says a lot about NABCO s credibility, really developing its ethos appeal. Back then even airplane cost a lot. The amount that a Constellation cost was between $685,000 to $720,000. Now a days that s 7 8 million dollars, and that s just the cost of one Constellation. TWA and Pan Am got a deal from the Government when they bought the airplanes. Well there is no clear evidence it can easily be seen why they were so cheap. The Constellations weren t in great shape. They were a part of World War II, and most of them probably had bullet holes in them, and were in bad shape. Like I said earlier the Constellation had its ups and downs. It seemed to have served great during the war and was fit for the right job. After the war while the Constellation was in airline service two people have died while taking flight. One passenger s window popped off and he was sucked right out, another was sitting next to a cabin window and that popped off as well and he was too sucked out of the Constellation. Child Labour Around the World Child Labor lingers among all Introduction Child labor has been an enormous issue lingering amongst our world today, but yet people d not realize that it is still occurring more often in developing countries. Throughout the last few decades, child labor has been declining in many countries. However, more than 250 million children between the ages of 5 and 14 are still working ( Child labor around, 2013). Some sort of child labor exists in each country due to weak economic structure and lack of regulations. I now attend a performing arts magnet high school for choral performance. Singing, to me, is something that defines who I am because I have been doing it for so long. I have spent countless hours in voice lessons, rehearsals, practicing, recitals, and concerts that I do not know what my life would be without it. Being a vocal student has allowed me to express myself in a unique way that brings joy to others. I love music because it has the ability to transform someone s day just by listening to it. • 21. Finding Meaning in Albert Camus’ The Plague Essay Finding Meaning in Albert Camus The Plague Socrates, a Greek philosopher, once said that the unexamined life is not worth living (Apology 38b). Like Socrates, Albert Camus believed that a man needs to live meaningfully. In his novel The Plague Camus creates characters who are forced to think, reflect, and assume responsibility for living as they battle an epidemic of bubonic plague that is ravaging the Algerian port of Oran. For ten months as the outbreak isolates the city from the rest of the world, each of the citizens reacts in a unique way. Camus main characters undergo both individual and social transformations. Dr. Bernard Rieux, the narrator and central character, is one of the first people in Oran to recognize the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rieux believes that man has to do what is necessary while he is alive and must believe in humanity: . . . Rieux was thinking it was only right that those whose desires are limited to man and his humble yet formidable love should enter, if only now and then, into their reward (Camus 301). When the gates of Oran are opened, Rieux writes a chronicle of the plague hoping to teach others a lesson. He wants them to witness the admirable qualities in men and the injustice they endure. As a doctor he knows that the plague bacillus can lie dormant for long periods and then resurface. Although man may never be the victor over the plague and the loss of life it inflicts, he can better manage life s adversities in the future. Another important character is Raymond Rambert, a Parisian journalist, who goes through a metamorphosis over the course of the epidemic. He finds himself trapped in Oran when the gates of the city are closed. This determined young man tries to escape in any way possible because he feels that Oran s problems are none of his concern since he is an outsider. Rambert s appeals to the civil authorities are unsuccessful. He asks Dr. Rieux to help his cause and is enraged when Rieux refuses. He then offers money to smugglers for his escape. Later during an exchange Rieux tells him: . . . for nothing in the world would I try to dissuade you from what you re going to do; it seems to me absolutely right and proper. ... • 22. Examples Of Altruism In The Movie The Hobbit Ishwari Tamang Alec Julien Philosophy 12/12/17 Does Altruism Exist? In many movies and shows there are an abundant acts of selfless altruism. Altruism is a selfless act that someone does without asking for anything in return. An example of altruism in a movie is The Hobbit . In this movie, the hero helps someone in need without expecting anything in return. In a movie like the Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, who is the main character, journeys with the dwarf king to help his kingdom in need. Knowing he could be brutally killed in a face of a battle or by the dragon. His act of selfless altruism even saves someone life. Altruism exist and movie like this is simply reflect the alterium we practice in real world. The philosopher, Thomas Hobbes, believes that people do good things because it makes them feel good not because they are trying to do a good deed for something in return. Hobbes might say that Bilbo Baggins only helps others because he would have felt bad if he did not. Therefore, Hobbes would say that altruism does not exist in this movie. Another philosopher, Joseph Butler, disagree with Hobbes. He believes that humans do good deeds because they have an inner sense of benevolence. He might suggest that Bilbo Baggins s does have altruism. My view is that is that Bilbo Baggins show a behavior of altruism not because he just simply felt good after doing it. He did it because it is a good thing to do. According to Samir Okasha, a biologist from Stanford, altruism comes from our human biology. Altruism also exists all around us and in many species. Individuals can gain so much from the act of altruism. Okaska suggest that people do carry a gene to be altruism it exist within us all. Within human beings we have a biological need to survive. The reason altruism exist is so we all can have a chance of survival. Selfishness exist in order to increase the chance of an individual to survive. According to Scott, Selfishness does not do well at the between group level, because it harms the group s chances of survival. This is why we have organized groups who tend have the authority to punishment mechanisms like prisons or exile to prevent freeloading or other selfish behavior (Suttie). My view is that people ... One of the studies I found talked about how men and women differ in confronting their significant other about extra partner affairs. The author of this study, Barry X. Khule, had trained undergraduate students watch and code fifty one episodes of the reality television show Cheaters (Khule, 2011). Individuals who believed they were being cheated on called the show and asked that the Cheater s Detective Agency (CDA) follow their significant other around for weeks. Then, the CDA provided the victim with video surveillance footage to show whether or not their significant other had actually been cheating on them. The show then gave the victim a chance to confront the cheating mate. The confrontation was also videotaped as part of the show ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Men are believed to have evolved an adaptation for jealousy because if a man s significant other was unfaithful, it reduced the man s chances of reproducing and passing along his genes to the next generation. On the other hand, women are believed to have evolved an adaptation for jealousy because if a woman s significant other was unfaithful, she would lose her source of resources, protection, and attention (Buss Haselton, 2005). This article also states that men find it harder to forgive a sexual infidelity and women find it harder to forgive an emotional infidelity. Evolutionary psychologists believe that women are drawn to men based on their resources (e.g. money, family, health) and that men are drawn to women based on their physical appearance (e.g. body shape, size, facial attractiveness). When men feel as though they are in jeopardy of infidelity, they engage in what the authors of the article call jealous mate guarding , especially during their woman s time of ovulation each month. When women feel that their resource endowed man may be more attracted to another woman, they also engage in jealous mate guarding (Buss Haselton, 2005). In my opinion, jealousy can be a big problem, but it doesn t have to be. It all depends on the couple and how compatible they are with each other. A little jealousy can be a good thing; it means that people care about each other and are afraid to lose one another. However, there is a point where ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. Analysis Of The Duel In Founding Brothers Joseph J Ellis included The Duel in his book, Founding Brothers to show the extreme complexity behind the relationship between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr. This duel is normally represented in a short few lines that includes the date, the location, the outcome, and little details about the fashion in which they dueled. Although these representations are short and concise, they do not give the duel the justice it deserves. Ellis model does so by adding a lot more detail to help the audience understand it was more than a short and random interaction. Ellis explains how in order to understand the duel, one must examine the many and intricate causes of it, rather than what actually happened in those few seconds on top of the cliff in Weehawken, New Jersey. Ellis record of the most famous duel in American History can be used as a historical reference for the songs Your Obedient Servant and The World Was Wide Enough that are a part of the Hamilton soundtrack. One thing that was made sure after reading this book and listening to this song is that Lin Manuel Miranda did his research and made the songs in his soundtrack as historically accurate as possible. Your Obedient Servant is the song in the musical that reference the letters Hamilton and Burr wrote back and forth leading up to the duel. These letters speaks about their many interactions in which one of them won over the other. Hamilton did many things in order to keep Burr away from gaining powerful positions ... • 27. The Birthmark By Judith Fetterley Beauty can be defined as the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations, a meaningful design or pattern, or something else. In The Birthmark it is a tragic and upsetting example of what beauty, gender, and science represent. Georgiana was devoted to make her husband Alymer happy by jeopardizing her life so he wouldn t suffer from considering her birthmark. Thus potential perfection is not worth a life. Analyzing the gender aspect of the story can be explained by Judith Fetterley. She wrote an article called Women Beware Science: The Birthmark . Alymer simply looks at his wife as someone he can control and wants nothing for her but to be perfect. Fetterley says, It is the demonstration of how to murder your wife and get away with it. This story brings a lot of talk of sexual politics and the way women are sometimes looked at in society. The way some society members describe women are supposed to honor the man and never have any power over the man, in The Birthmark it is clear that Alymer looks at Georgiana as a women that is his own property and should be perfect in every aspect according to him. The gender portion comes into play when the question is asked, what if it was a man obsession with another man to be perfect or a woman obsession for a man to be perfect? In The Birthmark Alymer did not wish for Aminadab his servant to be perfect. It is all about gender ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
