2. People were created to be loved. Things were
created to be used. The world is in chaos because
things are being loved and people are being used.
3. Honour means:
To value, glory or promote
To elevate another’s status
To give prestige to someone
To show great respect, appreciation
& admiration
4. 1. God crowns YOU with honour!
Psalms 8:1-6 (NIV)
1 O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in
all the earth! You have set Your glory above the
heavens. 2 From the lips of children and infants
You have ordained praise because of Your
enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. 3
When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your
fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have
set in place, 4 what is man that You are mindful of
him, the son of man that you care for him? 5 You
made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honour.
5. 2. Honour is the atmosphere of
heaven
Revelation 4:9-11 (NIV)
9 Whenever the living creatures give glory, honour
and thanks to Him who sits on the throne and who
lives for ever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall
down before Him who sits on the throne, and
worship Him who lives for ever and ever. They lay
their crowns before the throne and say: 11 "You are
worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and
honour and power, for You created all things, and
by Your will they were created and have their
being.“
6. Revelation 5:11-13 (NIV)
11 Then I looked and heard the voice of many
angels, numbering thousands upon thousands,
and ten thousand times ten thousand. They
encircled the throne and the living creatures and
the elders. 12 In a loud voice they sang: "Worthy
is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and
wealth and wisdom and strength and honour and
glory and praise!" 13 Then I heard every creature
in heaven and on earth and under the earth and
on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: "To
him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be
praise and honour and glory and power, for ever
and ever!"
7. 3. God wants you to honour others
the same way He has honoured you.
Matthew 6:10 (NIV)
10 ...Your kingdom come, Your will be
done on earth as it is in heaven.
9. 1. Because it’s what God did for His Son
2 Peter 1:16-17 (NIV)
16 We did not follow cleverly invented
stories when we told you about the power
and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but
we were eye-witnesses of His majesty. 17
For He received honour and glory from
God the Father when the voice came to
Him from the Majestic Glory, saying, "This
is My Son, whom I love; with Him I am
well pleased."
10. 2. Because the Bible specifically
instructs us to honour all people
1 Peter 2:17 (NKJV)
17 Honour all people. Love the
brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the
king.
11. 3. Because it’s the key to living a
full life!
Exodus 20:12 (NIV)
12 "Honour your father and your
mother, so that you may live long in
the land the Lord your God is giving
you.
12. People were created to be loved. Things were
created to be used. The world is in chaos because
things are being loved and people are being used.
13. 1 Samuel 2:30 (NLT)
30 "Therefore, the LORD, the God of
Israel, says: …. ‘I will honour only
those who honour me…’
