Timothy is reminded to fan into flame the gift of God within him. God gives power, love and self-discipline, not a timid spirit. Paul urges Timothy to not be ashamed of testifying to Christ. God saves believers and calls them to a holy life not for any works but for His grace. Paul was appointed to preach this gospel. Though suffering, Paul is not ashamed knowing God will guard what is entrusted until the final day. Timothy is told to guard the good deposit with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Rom. 5:1-2 Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in our hope of sharing the glory of God.

Does God's grace end at the cross? Was the offer of salvation all there is to God's goodness? May it never be. God continues watching over his people and pouring out blessings on them. The challenge for Christians today is to recognize those blessings--and to appreciate them.
In this message, Josh Weidmann shares with us lessons from the last seconds of the life of Stephen in Acts 7:54-60. The sermon can be found at: http://wp.me/p4N0ve-rE
Prayer service powerpoint. Biblical themes to help your people pray with a Kingdom focus. Great tool for pastors or ministry leaders, anyone leading a corporate prayer time.
In this second of four sessions of our “Being and Making Disciples” workshop help in Sacele on September 1,2012 we answered the question “How Did I Begin to Disciple Someone?. We started by looking at things we should take into consideration even before we start discipling someone like how we should model Jesus, the importance of focusing on relationships and the goal of what we do in discipleship. We then went on to look at five key things we should do to help those we are discipling to get off to a good start.
This prospective missionary devotional is designed for high school seniors and others planning to submit their mission papers within the next year. I put it together for our stake presidency to present. It is divided into three sections, so each member of the stake presidency can take a part.
The first part talks about temporal and spiritual preparation. The second section discusses the mission call process, and the third part talks about some final things new missionaries need to do in preparation for their mission such as getting the priesthood and going to the temple.
There are 50 slides. If you go quickly through the slide deck, you can get through it in about an hour. But if you take your time it can take up to two hours.

Pastor Tye's message on how the early church spread because of the persecution. The enemies of God thought they would stamp out Christianity, but they didn't realize they were only helping to spread it. This message also includes discussion about water baptism, what is it, what does it mean, how should it be done and who should do it.
Most of us would feel more confident about what we believed if all we had to do was memorize the right vocabulary and understand the right concepts. But God never intended for life to be an exam we passed just by simply knowing the right things. Use these slides along with our audio presentation here - http://www.elevatechurch.me/connect/listen/
The first teaching in the series "Growing Deep in the Gospel". In this teaching we answer the question "Why is the Gospel Important?" by looking at Romans 1:16, several other Bible verses and quotes from pastors and Christian authors. Then in light of the importance of the gospel we look at what we should do with the gospel.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…
2. 2 Timothy 1:6-14 (NIV)
For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift
of God, which is in you through the laying on of my
hands. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us
timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. So
do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or
of me His prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering
for the gospel, by the power of God.
3. 2 Timothy 1:6-14 (NIV)
He has saved us and called us to a holy life - not
because of anything we have done but because of His
own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in
Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has
now been revealed through the appearing of our
Saviour, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has
brought life and immortality to light through the
gospel. And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and
an apostle and a teacher.
4. 2 Timothy 1:6-14 (NIV)
That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause
for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and
am convinced that he is able to guard what I have
entrusted to him until that day.
What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound
teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus.
5. 2 Timothy 1:6-14 (NIV)
Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you
- guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who
lives in us.

9. Find the Gift
v6 – Fan into flame the gift of God.
v6 – Which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
v9 – He has saved us and called us to a holy life – not because of
anything we have done but because of His own purpose and grace.
10. Guard the Good Deposit
v14 – Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you.
v14 – Guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.
v12 – I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is
able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.
11. Guard the Good Deposit
Guard [verb]
1. Watch over in order to protect or control.
2. Protect against damage or harm.
[Protect, keep an eye on, cover, patrol, defend, shield, safeguard,
preserve, fortify, garrison]
13. Luke 6:45 (NIV)
A good man brings good things out of the good
stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil
things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For
the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.
