While witnessing in a square a couple of weeks ago, I came across two Christian ladies who asked me how I am able to do what I was doing (witnessing in a hostile environment); as they found that environment not conducive to witness in. So I told them some practical things to do `before coming out there, like prayer and fasting (if they can); but MORE IMPORTANTLY I told them a story of an incidence the Lord used to impress in my heart the priceless significance of a good conscience: and need for us is to continually seek the Lord for a GOOD CONSCIENCE so as to have a USEFUL HEART
Veil Rent - The Significance For Us? Boldness to “enter in”
Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh. (Hebrews 10:19-20)
Here we have the answer to the question we have always asked: “what do I need to do to go near to God”?
Answer being: Boldness to “enter in”
Yes, the Confidence, self-assurance, nerve, cheek, audaciousness to enter into the very presence of God without the fear of dying there; we can no more die there, since Jesus Christ has died in our place; made eternal life guaranteed for us. Our boldness is based on the perfection of His sacrifice of which He said:
“IT IS FINISHED”
so:
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. (Proverbs 4:23)
Stepping into chapter 10 we enter the second mission discourse in Matthew’s gospel. The new challenge facing Jesus is his time is limited and his disciples need to be quickly trained for the work of ministry that lay ahead of them. Calling the twelve to himself he sends them out to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. But not before he gives them his own power and authority to authenticate themselves as his messengers. For the first time in Matthew’s gospel, we have a complete list of the disciples. A group of rag tag men that will soon turn the world upside down with the gospel. Through them the message of salvation must go to the Jew first (Rom. 1:16). The lesson for us is we too have a message proclaim but it isn’t limited to just the Jews we are to share the gospel of grace with everyone around us.
Enduring to the End (Matthew 10:16 - 25) RyanShannon26
In last week’s message the missionary journey of the 12 apostles was limited and localized to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Moving into verse 16 Jesus pivots towards the future work of the disciples past Pentecost and into the time of the Great Tribulation. The key theme is opposition will be experienced by all disciples in every age. But how do we respond to those that are hostile to the gospel message? Jesus instructs us to be wise as serpents and innocent as doves so that we can survive as sheep among the wolves. This calls for a certain shrewdness in dealing with those that oppose our message but at the same time keeping our behavior blameless before a watching world. This sounds easier said then done but our dependence must be upon the Holy Spirit who guides us in all things (Jn. 14:26).

In this presentation we will cover how the mystery of Christ, the principalities and powers, and spiritual warfare are tied in with APEST, and how we can respond.
The Backstory: giants, demons, spiritual warfare, and APEST Part 2Tim Catchim
In this presentation we explore what what "led captivity captive" really means and how an accurate understanding of this phrase can unlock what Paul is trying to communicate with this phrase in Ephesians 4:8-10.
The Backstory: giants, demons, spiritual warfare, and APEST Part 1Tim Catchim
Ever wonder why Paul introduces APEST by quoting a battle Psalm describing Israel's battle against a giant named King Og - an infamous gatekeeper to the realm of the dead? Ephesians 4:8-10 is one of the most cryptic verses in all of Paul's writings. But if we read closely, we'll discover that Paul is framing APEST within God's cosmic - and ongoing - battle with evil. If you think APEST is just another personality profile, think again. APEST equips us to actively participate with Christ in overcoming the rulers, authorities, cosmic powers, and spiritual forces of evil. In this presentation we explore what giants, demons, and spiritual warfare have to do with the five-fold giftings of APEST, and why it matters.

Bible Readings for ModuleWeek 2Parable of the Wheat and TaresChantellPantoja184
Bible Readings for Module/Week 2
Parable of the Wheat and Tares
Jesus told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.
"The owner's servants came to him and said, 'Sir, didn't you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?'
"'An enemy did this,' he replied.
"The servants asked him, 'Do you want us to go and pull them up?'
"'No,' he answered, 'because while you are pulling the weeds, you may root up the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.'" (Matthew 13:24–30)
Knowledge and wisdom
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. (Proverbs 1:7)
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom;
all who follow his precepts have good understanding.
To him belongs eternal praise. (Psalm 111:10)
Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD and shun evil. (Proverbs 3:3–7)
Problem with the World (Sin)
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned. (Romans 5:12)
As it is written, "There is none righteous, not even one.” (Romans 3:10)
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
Strength
Strength in God, Not in Man
For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength. (I Corinthians 1:25)
I can do everything through him who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13)
God Demonstrates His Strength in Our Weakness
Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are. (I Corinthians 1:26–28)
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (II Corinthians 12:9–11)
The Strong are to Help the Weak
We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. ...
End-Time Prophecy 101: Will Jesus Return this Year?BeyondToday
This is the second part in the Beyond Today Bible study series: End-Time Prophecy 101. Over the centuries many have tried to predict the date of Jesus Christ's return. Dates have come and gone. Some have said that all signs point to His return this year. There is no doubt that Christ said He would come again. But can we know when this tremendous event will occur? Our Bible study will examine the timing and occasion of His imminent return.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

The Church On Fire! Slides, 5/27/12
1.
2. When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all
together in one place. And suddenly there came
from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind,
and it filled the entire house where they were
sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared
to them and rested on each one of them. And
they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and
began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit
gave them utterance.
3. Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews,
devout men from every nation under heaven.
And at this sound the multitude came together,
and they were bewildered, because each one
was hearing them speak in his own language.
4. And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are
not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how
is it that we hear, each of us in his own native
language? Parthians and Medes and Elamites and
residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia,
Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and
the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors
from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and
Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues
the mighty works of God.”
5. And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to
one another, “What does this mean?” But
others mocking said, “They are filled with new
wine.”
But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his
voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and
all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to
you, and give ear to my words. For these people
are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only
the third hour of the day.
6. But this is what was uttered through the prophet
Joel:
“‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams;
even on my male servants and female servants
in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they
shall prophesy.
7. And I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;
the sun shall be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood,
before the day of the Lord comes, the great
and magnificent day.
8. And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls
upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’
“Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth,
a man attested to you by God with mighty works
and wonders and signs that God did through him in
your midst, as you yourselves know— this Jesus,
delivered up according to the definite plan and
foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by
the hands of lawless men. God raised him up,
loosing the pangs of death, because it was not
possible for him to be held by it.
9. For David says concerning him,
“‘I saw the Lord always before me,
for he is at my right hand that I may not be
shaken;
therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue
rejoiced;
my flesh also will dwell in hope.
10. For you will not abandon my soul to Hades,
or let your Holy One see corruption.
You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’
“Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the
patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his
tomb is with us to this day. Being therefore a prophet,
and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him
that he would set one of his descendants on his throne,
he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the
Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his
flesh see corruption.
11. This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are
witnesses. Being therefore exalted at the right
hand of God, and having received from the
Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has
poured out this that you yourselves are seeing
and hearing. For David did not ascend into the
heavens, but he himself says,
“‘The Lord said to my Lord, sit at my right hand,
until I make your enemies your footstool.”’
12. Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain
that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this
Jesus whom you crucified.”
Now when they heard this they were cut to the
heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles,
“Brothers, what shall we do?” And Peter said to
them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in
the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your
sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
13. For the promise is for you and for your children
and for all who are far off, everyone whom the
Lord our God calls to himself.” And with many
other words he bore witness and continued to
exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this
crooked generation.” So those who received his
word were baptized, and there were added that
day about three thousand souls.
