The Herndon Station Metro Garage project provides a new six-level pre-cast parking structure with seven tiers of parking to accommodate over 2,000 added parking spaces. This project addresses the increased parking demand associated with the coming arrival of the Silver Line Metro, and supports the expanded use of public, mass transportation in the area. The project also provides secure bicycle storage for 130 bikes, energy efficient LED lighting fixtures throughout the garage, and vehicular and pedestrian bridge connections to the existing garage. Infrastructure and site improvements include utilities and road widening coordinated with the Silver Line Phase 2 project, direct vehicular garage egress to the Dulles Toll Road to reduce traffic impact on local roads, and enhanced stormwater management serving the site.

Project Description
The project site, located at 12530 Sunrise Valley Drive, Herndon, is designated as the location of
the Herndon Metro Station in Silver Line Phase 2. The new Herndon Station Metro Garage
addresses the increased parking demand associated with the arrival of the Silver Line Metro, and
supports the expanded use of public, mass transportation.
The project site is 5.3 acres as part of the overall 28.2 acres site that also houses an existing
garage, a bus loop and connections to the Dulles Toll Road, all of which remained operational
during the construction of the new garage. The project provides:
• A new 6 level pre-cast parking structure with 7 tiers of parking to accommodate 2,006 parking
spaces,
• Secure bicycles storage area for 130 bikes,
• Energy Efficient LED lighting fixtures throughout the garage,
• Vehicular and pedestrian connections to the existing garage by a new steel truss bridge,
• Infrastructure and site improvements, including utilities and road widening as coordinated
with the Silver Line Phase 2 project,
• Enhanced stormwater management serving the site
• Direct vehicular egress to Dulles Toll Road to reduce traffic impact on local roads.
Substantial Completion: April 4, 2019
