Heart Disease Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of heart disease can be a challenging yet rewarding task. The
difficulty lies not only in the complexity of the subject matter but also in the need to strike a
balance between providing comprehensive information and maintaining the reader's interest.
To begin with, heart disease encompasses a broad spectrum of conditions, from coronary artery
disease to heart failure, each requiring a thorough understanding of medical concepts and
terminology. Gathering accurate and up-to-date information from reliable sources is crucial to
ensure the essay's credibility. The challenge intensifies when attempting to present complex
medical information in a way that is accessible to a diverse audience with varying levels of prior
knowledge.
Moreover, crafting an engaging and coherent narrative is essential to keep the reader invested in
the essay. Striking the right tone – informative yet not overly technical – is another hurdle
to overcome. Additionally, incorporating personal anecdotes or real-life examples can humanize
the content and make it more relatable, but it requires a delicate touch to avoid straying into
inappropriate or overly emotional territory.
Furthermore, addressing the various causes, risk factors, and prevention methods for heart
disease involves navigating a vast sea of scientific research, statistics, and epidemiological data.
Synthesizing this information into a cohesive and logically structured essay demands not only
strong analytical skills but also the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
In conclusion, writing an essay on heart disease requires a combination of research prowess,
medical knowledge, and effective communication skills. It's a task that demands careful
consideration of both the scientific intricacies and the need to engage a diverse audience.
Despite the challenges, successfully conveying the importance of heart health and promoting
awareness is a noble endeavor.

Seven Deadly Sins In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet...
From the beginning of time there has been the idea of God and the sins that God
has applied. There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him:
haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises
wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out
lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers (Proverbs 6:16 19). The seven
deadly sinsare pride, gluttony, sloth, envy, greed, anger, and lust.
Pride is the excessive belief that one person has so much belief in himself and his
abilities, that it interferes with the person s realization of the grace of God. Pride is
also known for the excessive pride in one s achievements, or in other words, vanity.
Gluttony is to eat and drink more than one person requires. Sloth is extreme laziness
and not wanting to do anything.
Envy is the desire to have another person s qualities or abilities and this is very
sinful because it shows you are not happy with what you have and want what other
people have.
Greed is to get and keep more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The scarlet A on Hester s breast is a symbol for everyone it is a symbol to be worn
no matter how the townspeople felt about her or how many good things she did for
the town, sadly, the people will revert to their human nature to tell the very worst of

black scandal of bygone years. (Hawthorne, 112) and the letter remains a public
condemnation. The scarlet letter will always have an ambiguous meaning for the
townspeople but as the end of the book nears the A resembles other things such as
Able . The meaning flipped yet Hester never forgot its intent and she took her
understanding to her grave. Hawthorne describes the way the letter affected Hester

Reasons Why Japan Colonize Korea

Have you ever thought about losing your country, family, or time? This actually
happened in Korea by Japan in early 20th century. They were suffered, despaired
and frustrated. People were living because they couldn t die. There was no hope,
dream or confidence either. But there is a way out of every situation. People never
gave up whatever happened as if they are metals that become stronger and stronger
as they are beat. Now I ll examine the reason, fault, process, and lessons one by one.
First of all, what are the reasons that made Japan to colonize Korea? I found that there
were very interesting reasons.
In late 19th century, Japan was so unstable even if Meiji government unified the
whole country. Most of groups in the government fought to expand each influences,
even there were signs of re division. The government needed to turn their attention to
the other way, outside of country.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It had prepared to make its way to Asia continent inch by inch from the mid 19th
century through Ganghwa treaty between Korea and Japan in 1875, Shimonoseki
treaty between China and Japan, etc. Finally they declared war to colonize Korea,
they easily occupied Korea because Japan had a powerful military force out of the
only capitalistic economy in east Asia. As a result, it stabilized the political situation
domestically and established a foothold to colonize Asia.
By the way, didn t Korea have any faults? Both sides are responsible for this
incident. There is no right and there is no wrong. So I want to say Korea s faults
which most people are reluctant to say about.
One thing is a pro japanese group. For instance, there was a covert meeting in
Seoul, Korea, which made rules known as 14 rules for japan , I ll introduce one out

The Social Work Field Work Performance
Introduction
According to CNN Money the social work field is the one of Americas most
overworked and underpaid professions. Essentially, they work hard and do more
with very little resources. When the Great Recession occurred in 2007 the tax
revenue declined. States have made spending cuts, drained reserves, and reduce
necessary services. Majority of the programs targeted was that of much need social
workers and nurses. Usually in lower income areas where families are affected the
most. How can we help fix this issue? Over worked employees can lead to high
stress and high turnover rates. When an employee is stressed their work suffers. In
the social work field work performance is very important. The child welfare worker
or child protective services social worker provides assistance to improve the
functioning of children and their families. Time management is very important when
it comes to caseload and workload in particular to the field of Child Protective
Services. Due to understaffing in large caseloads, there can be a tremendous amount
of pressure for people who choose this line of work.
Methods
We all have or know someone who has or currently is experiencing being
overworked and underpaid. Now we ask ourselves is this because of the lack of
assistance in the workplace or is it due to miss management of time. One of the best
methods in improving high caseloads and high workloads is having better time
management. Managing time appropriately allows for each task to be
Describe My Mother
I view my mother as the outmost magnificent person in my life, and I can t be more
thankful to have her. I would describe my mother as a strong and independent
woman, my role model; I can t think of another person that means a great deal to me.
My mother is the sweetest and the trust worthiest person, but she can also be tough
and deliberate. My grandparent s personalities are strict, therefore my motherwas
raised in a harsh environment, this thought her to be strong and that not everything
is easy in life or handed to you. I consider her as the hardest working person I ever
know, consequently thanks to her hard work she achieved countless goals in her life.
She would always say to me you have to work hard to achieve your dreams , I believe
her. If you knew her you ll be impressed by her strong character, moreover, she is
someone that you will admire if you met her and knew her. She makes a wonderful
mother and I m sure she will make a great friend. My mother s name is Lidia
Montano Ramos, she was born in La Paz, Bolivia; there she lived most of her life,
next to the side of my father who is her husband, moreover now they have 23 years
married. If you ever wanted to meet my mother, you could, it s obvious to tell her
apart from a crowd. The first thing that calls for attention is her hair, she has wavy
hair, s waves mixed with natural ringlets fighting the frizz that could be noticed for
a long distance. Her hair is always in a messy low ponytail, but when she is going
somewhere elegant she frees her hair and puts it down, you ll recognize the
difference. The second point to notice is her lips, they are much the same as a fresh
coral pink, the upper lipis darker than the lower. She has a tiny scar on the right side
of the upper lip almost untraceable, however, it s most likely that you will not notice
it. When she paints her bow shaped lips, she likes the diva red. Her hair and her lips
are traits that stand out the further, she has other characteristics too, although they
don t stand out as much as her hair and lips.
Her character is one of the strongest assets she has. She treats everyone equally with
respect, but if you disrespect her, she will just simply walk away without saying a
word. Even though
Effective Workplace Communication
Listening and Effective Workplace Communication
James Humes, a former presidential speech writer, stated that, the art of
communication is the language of leadership (Leading Thoughts, 2010).
Communication is an essential process that is common in the workplace. Everyone in
the workplace especially leaders must communicate with others. Ideas, conversations,
disagreements, and commitments can all be exchanged through communication.
Anyone can communicate but it takes discipline and skills to effectively
communicate. These skills can include feedback, presentation, non verbal
communication, and listening. Listening is the most valuable skills to effective
workplace communication because it enhances job effectiveness, relationships ...

If a guest calls down to the front desk and complains about their room the front
desk clerk needs to actively listen to know how to respond. A response may include
sending up an item that was requested by the guest or escalating the problem to
upper management. Intently listening to the message that is presented will help
employees and managers respond in an appropriate manner. A response to listening
does not always have to verbal. A non verbal response like smiling or nodding can
be an appropriate response. It does not matter if the response is verbal or non verbal,
listening will help to ensure that the response is effective.
People tend to assume that the most important part of the pyramid is the top but they
are incorrect. The bottom of the pyramid is the most important part of the pyramid.
The bottom of the pyramid is the foundation on which the other blocks stand. If there
was a pyramid to represent communication skills, listening would be the foundation
or the base for communication. Communication skills build on each other and the
skill that is used for the moment in time is the tip of the pyramid. Truly effective
communication involves more than just expressing yourself clearly. It also requires
effective listening (Brown, 2009). Listening helps to strengthen the other
communication skills like feedback and presentation. It is hard to present to an
audience without understanding the audience s needs. To understand the
My Preferred Major Is Computer Science
My preferred major is computer science. Computer science is the act of coding and
other operations dealing with computer software. Computer science also deals
with knowing all or most languages of code such as Java, Python, or Linux. Along
my path to deciding that I wanted to major in computer science, I faced many
obstacles and was a part of many experiences that pushed me towards this field.
Some events would be as simple as my family designating me the honorary Tech
Guy or my friends coming to me for advice on their computers. Those things are
what sparked my interest. Then came my first coding class. It was one of the most
difficult things I have ever done and it was so immense. So many commands and
combinations and it just didn t seem to make sense. But then I realized, it was made
by someone. People have a knack for creating patterns. It is how the humanbrain
works, we take all the large amount of data that is thrown at our brains and then we
make shortcuts like seeing patterns. So that s what humans did to the machines. We
gave them the same mindset. So I started noticing shortcuts in the data and patterns
and soon everything started to click.
I know I am a good match for computer science because of my mindset. I am very
logical and my mind appeals to common sense, which coding kind of revolves
around. I have a love for technology. The abilities Man has gained just from a few
steel and plastic clumps with electricity in them. It really is amazing to me. Also, I

Even when Bakken was a toddler, he liked to play with cords, wires, connectors, and

fascinated by the idea of combining electricity with medicine, explained Bakken. As a
young adult, Bakken s first wife, Connie Olson, worked in a hospital located in south
Minneapolis. He visited the hospital often, and soon realized that they needed a
company dedicated to fixing broken machinery. The Medtronics Company then
started, with Bakken conjoining with his brother in law,Palmer Hermundslie. The
invention of the pacemaker came around in November of 1957, when Dr. Lillehei,
at the University of Minnesota, was operating on babies born with a heart defect,

Kerala Elephants
The path that led me to writing this story about the plight of the Kerala Elephants
started when weeks ago I was graciously asked to join a Facebook group,
appropriately named Animal Activists.
The next brick in my path was laid by Lisa Fay Wind Roloff a well meaning
member of this group. She sent me a picture of an abused elephants being held in
Kerala, India.
The path became even clearer as I delved deeper into my research on the agony and
torture the Kerala Elephants are suffering at this very moment.
As I searched the net and read many insightful articles and petitions devoted to
stopping the Kerala torture, I came across a wonderful article, published by the New
York Times on August 2013, titled The Hard Life of Celebrity Elephants ... Show

Growing up the man I loved, and looked up to, a man I called Dad, beat me
everyday. He was a product of his times, and my heart and soul forgave him long
ago. But as with these animals a 7 year old is unable to change his daily fortune
without a champion.
Unlike these helpless creatures, I and millions of other children grew up to become
men and women who said Enough. No longer would we accept our fate. So we
fought back and change our destiny to what we wanted, not what others tried to
determine for us.
The beatings I endured became routine, the pain dulled, and as a child lying in bed
sobbing, battered from the nights punishment, I swore that I would never let any
child, woman or animal suffer like this. I would willingly sacrifice myself in order
to protect anyone from harm and in the years that have passed, life has presented me
with far too many opportunities to put that seven year olds promise to the test and I
have never once failed in honoring his vow.

The Accounting Principles And Procedures
When a company reports its financial reports, the information is expected to be
reliable, verifiable, consistency, and comparability when applying accounting
principles and procedures. The accounting principles and procedures directly affect
the company s balance sheet and it financial statement by depending on hot it s
prepared and interpreted. If there are any changes in the accounting principles and
procedures when preparing the financial statements, it should be notified and
documented any changes that made to the company s accounting practices.
Therefore, this paper is going to address about a company that has decided to change
its accounting method of depreciation to a declining balance method and weather its
decrease net income or not, results of changes in principle or estimate, importance of
choosing the accounting methods, and the influence of errors and corrections in the
financial statements.
Changing Depreciation method to a Declining Balance Method The straight line
method has always used by the company, but recently the company decided to change
its method of depreciating long term assets to be consistent with major competitors,
which use a declining balance method. However, this change will cause past
expenses to be higher and income to be lower. It is important to remember that net
income from continuing operations will decrease at the time of recognition; meaning
in the future depreciation expense will decrease, but in a long run it will increase

Technology In The Hunger Games
The Hunger Games presents a rather dystopian alternative to life in the United States
as compared to the present time. To audiences, the story provides exciting
entertainment as well as raising many ethical, moral, and political questions.
However, there is another aspect of The Hunger Games which proves fascinating in
an economical sense the technology. Throughout the drama, contrasts in
technological advancement show how important technology is to economic health.
In the beginning of the film, District 12 is shown to be a place whose residence are
barely surviving. With food being scarce and the dangerous employment of the
mines providing little support, the people of the district represent one of the lowest
social classes in Panem. What little economy exists is based on trading and bartering
rather than on the transfer of currency. Even those type of exchanges seen and
mentioned in the movie are for necessities, such as food and clothes, and not often
for luxuries. The lack of technology is especially startling. Minimal electricity is to
be found, and even basic plumbing seems nonexistent in most homes. People are
forced to work the mines manually with little safety gear, as made evident in the
death of Katniss s father, and with little compensation, as made evident by the
extreme scarcity.
Considering that the civil war had been around seventy four years earlier, the low
state of District 12 is both economically and technologically surprising. After all that

What Is John Muir s Connection With Nature

utilizing figurative language to show how nature impacted and affected their

Magellan s Failure
Jeremy Bravo once said, Great leaders don t set out to be leaders... they set out to
make a difference. It s never about the role. It s always about the goal. Although a
remarkable navigator, Magellan never chose to make a positive impact on his
crew s lives. Leading a crew of young men gave him power to abuse or use, but
instead of showing these men a dedicated and concerned leader, Magellan led the
boys to a slow, painful death. Magellan was not worth defending in his last battle

Comparison Between Art And Food
Compare and Contrast: Art to Food The boundaries of art and food are being
pushed each day. As boundaries are pushed, the line between food and art becomes
smaller, almost non existent. Existence is a construct made by man, just as the
creations of food and art. In the twenty first century, nothing is positive and
everything is arbitrary. People are less worried with how everything looks, but
more concerned with the emotional impact they receive. Art is food and food is art.
Webster s dictionary defines art as the conscious use of skill and creative
imagination especially in the production of aesthetic objects . In actuality, anything
can be considered art when an artistic mind is perceiving it. Like all sectors of

Ancient Roman wedding ceremonies were finalized by breaking a cake of wheat
or barley (mustaceum) over the bride s head as a symbol of good fortune. The
newly married couple then ate a few crumbs in a custom known as confarreatio
eating together. Afterwards, the wedding guests gathered up the crumbs as tokens
of good luck. (Gastronomica). The human race has come a long way from breaking
dry cake over the bride s head. In modern times, cakes have become an extravagant
focal point at every wedding, having their own trends that come and pass with each
year. Cake culture is at an all time high in the twenty first century and with this
popularity comes a demand for more unique cakes. To fill this demand, cake
decorators pull inspiration from various movements, including art deco. Over seventy
years after the conclusion of the art deco movement, cake decorators all over the
world are pulling inspiration from it to elevate the design of their products.
Traditional cakes consist of flowing, symmetrical lines and borders. Traditional
cake design is the simplest to execute. This design is not quite elegant and not
quite casual, giving it a functional purpose for consumers on a budget. Past this tier
of cake decorating brings on the realm of wedding cakes or specialty cakes. With
this new level of work, cake decorators execute more complicated designs for a
higher payout. One such design is inspired by art deco, shown in the photo above.

In the past two decades, the Washington Consensus approach codified by John
Williamson (1990) has been one of the most popular terms in the field of
development. Consisting lists of reform agenda, Washington Consensus used to be or
at least believed as a rule of thumb policy to improve economic growth in developing
countries. However, due to the undesired result, now the Washington Consensus have
reached its fallacy.
There are rising debates on what will replace the Washington Consensus and the

Opportunities At Amazon
Opportunities are meant to take advantage of once being noticed. Like how
Amazon took notice of its data in the early 2000 s, it needs to take notice of other
opportunities that are laid before them. The opportunities that they should
continue to focus would be growth prospects e commerce and strategic
acquisitions. Growth prospects e commerce E commerce has continued to be a
business trend and it continued to grow in 2015. According to the data the Stefany
Zaroban got from the U.S. Commerce Department, the web sales in 2015 totaled
$341.7 billion for the year, a 14.6% increase over 2014 s $298.3 billion (Zaroban,
2016). This reveals that Amazon would continue to have the chance to increase
their sales as well as an increase to bringing in more customers. According to the
data that GlobalData received, U.S. had around 300 million internet users in the
year 2014 which was an increase of 7% over the previous years (GlobalData).
These statistics show that with the increase of online shoppers every year and the
definite advance in technology in the future, more people will shop online than to
go to retail stores. Strategic Acquisitions According to Amazon s history and
timeline, they were able to add features to Amazon every year. Like in 2014 of
December, they were able to add a one hour delivery for prime members, add in
HBO GO on Amazon Fire TV, Ultra HD Movies and TV Shows on Amazon Instant
Video, included in a Make an Offer for customers, and much more throughout
Reflection About Identity
Identity is very difficult to fully comprehend, but it is vital to the purpose of every
man, woman, and child that has lived and ever will live on the earth. As precisely
expressed by Erik Erikson, In the social jungle of human existence, there is no
feeling of being alive without a sense of identity. As defined by Merriam Webster,
identity is The distinguishing character or personality of an individual. However, this
definitionfalls short of the true meaning of the word, as it does not openly state the
deciding factor for the perception of a person s identity. For this reason, it is
necessary to redefine the word in order to properly convey its meaning to those that
do not fully understand it, as well as clarify by whom it is ascertained. Identity is
how one perceives oneself, based primarily on the behaviors exhibited by this person.
A more precise definition of identity could not have been taught to me any better
than by my first venture from the state of Iowa to the valley town of Estes Park,
Colorado. For a reason I still do not understand in its entirety, it brought me to better
understand myself by truly comprehending in what esteem I hold myself, and
perhaps what I one day strive to achieve. The novelty and charm of the place were
greatest the first time I experienced it, and I felt an indescribable sense of peace that
unfortunately did not entirely carry forward in future years. After driving through
what seemed like the most featureless mass of land in the
Essay On Barbara Strozzi
A woman of risk, controversy, perseverance, and ambition does not even begin to
describe Barbara Strozzi. Being a woman composer in the Baroque Era was not a
social norm and caused those who pursued this career suffering, disadvantage, and
negative labels. However, as one of the top women composers and singers in the
Baroque Era, Strozzi did not let negativity stop her. Strozzi, thrown into the music
world by her, father, Giulio, excelled the best she could as a womancomposer,
developing her artistic skills, embracing publishing and print, and utilizing the

Barbara is known for, her short and quite simple ariettas, as well as, her large scale
cantatas. Using her imagination, Strozzi was able to create sharp rhythms, frequent

active and frequently playful. A composer of sensitivity and emotional expression,

As one can see, Strozzi worked hard to ensure that she left, a precise, and as

many others in her time, was used by men, her own father, and Venice itself.
However, despite her social position, Barbara was able to distinguish herself from the

magnetic resonance imaging has also been developed at some centers, which may
allow to be more sensitive in detecting smaller calcifications. However, the method of
magnetic resonance imagining in the fetus has not been studied enough in the context
of a cancerrisk fetus in regards to fetus safety. Some experts suggest that there
should be early induction of the newborn, if they have been identified as harboring
high risk features on screening tests. However, this approach is not accepted with
all experts in the USA. Therefore, this decision should be made on a case by case
basis between all expert physicians involved in their respective fields (Gombos,
2012).
Retinal tumors are curable if diagnosed early enough. However, when dealing with
the germline version of the disease, there is a high risk of developing a second
primary tumor elsewhere. Usually, this second tumor is osteosarcoma. This is due to
the fact that the pRB protein, encoded by RB1, functions directly as a coactivator in
the transcription of osteoblast differentiation (OMIM). Single stranded
conformational polymorphism and DNA sequencing have been used to analyze
retinoblastoma tumors. In most cases, a single point mutation is the cause of the first

Eco Terrorism and Violence in The United States
Eco terrorism has been said by the Federal Bureau of Investigation to be the most
significant domestic terror threat facing the United States today ( Environmental ).
This assumption could not be any more true. Everyday, the lives of many innocent
citizens and animals are put in danger just for a group of people to try to make a
statement about what they believe is right, and what they believe is wrong. These
actions are usually committed by individuals who believe that the exploitation of
natural resources and despoliation of the environment are becoming so severe that
action outside of conventional legal and environmental channels is required (
Ecoterrorism. Pollution). Although this may be effective in getting the wanted

Though most groups are targeting the higher ups in a business or production, many of
the lower level workers are being harmed in their attempts. Putting people in danger to
make a statement is not the right way to approach the situation. Legal actions should,
and are often taken against these individuals that see it necessary to cause destruction
to fix a problem. Because of their violent actions, environmental activists have been
legally deemed terrorists. They have inflicted millions of dollars in damages and have
maimed innocent people ( Ecoterrorism: The Dangerous ). The term Eco terrorist
came into play because the goal of these domestic terrorists are the same as those of
international terrorists; to threaten a legitimately elected government through causing
domestic unrest and threatening the peaceful orderliness of society ( Environmental
). Main targets of these acts include forestation projects, hydro electric operations,
resource production, and land based telecommunication and energy services (Nilson).
The term terrorist has also been labeled upon on these activists because the means
utilized by domestic terrorists are very similar to those of international terrorists.
Both groups target unarmed civilians and carry out violent attacks without there
being a war. According to the article Perspectives onEcoterrorism: Catalysts,
Conflations, and Casualties , written by Randall Amster, the cycle of ecoterrorism, is

What Is Ellen Degeneneres A Role Model
Justin Pulver Career Education Ellen DeGeneres Voice acting and hosting a

and speak to a bunch of people. Ellen DeGeneres does this. I chose her as my role
model because she can go up on stage and not be nervous and be funny also
because I want to voice act characters. Ellen DeGeneres was born in Metairie,
Louisiana, a New Orleans suburb, on January 26, 1958. She is an American
comedian, television host, actress, writer, and producer. She wanted to become a
Veterinarian, but gave up her dream because she didn t think she was smart enough.

Why Misunderstanding Occurs Will Help Improve Our...
People communicate for more meaning than only for the words spoken. Sometimes
what we intended to say is not what the other person undersrands. By understanding
why misunderstanding occurs will help to improve our communication skills in or
prevent this from happening again (Managing and managing people, 2011a). The
three approaches by John Austin (1962) who established the concept of using
language as a speech act which help in identify the differences between what the

According to McLaughlin et al, (2008), the distance in proximity between people
affects people s levels of comfort and can cause anxiety.
Fear and lack of trust are among the most typical barriers to effective communication.
People can be hesitant to communicate in particular their thoughts as well as their
feelings for fear of being criticised, getting negative reactions, or getting an angry
response. if people lack trust they might be hesitant to communicate, not just their
feelings and thoughts, but any ideas they might have. For example, the situation
was hugely affected by the service user s current emotions which involved her
family members constantly shouting and criticising her. She appeared nervous and
anxious especially whenever one of her parents came into the kitchen. It was
evident that she was not listening actively to what was being said. To be able to
listen actively the listener is required to be attentive (Jones, 2009; Smith, 2010; Xue,
2009). The service user was distracted and was not as attentive as when it was just
the two of us in the room.
Interpersonal barriers, otherwise referred to as personality clashes occur when
relationships between individuals are weak and not hamonial . As a result of this the
confidence and mutual trust in one another is low, therefore leading to emotional
barriers set out above (Managing and managing people, 2011c).In the intervention this

Analysis Of George Eliot s Adam Bede
In George Eliot s Adam Bede we witness an illustration of the discussion between not
only crime, but morality, values, and extraordinarily, beauty as well. The so called
universal ideal of femininity is, according to our novelist s own interpretation, being
interrogated sternly. Unfortunately, what we find in Eliot s own interrogation method
of these structures is just another, albeit different, version of Liberal Humanism with
its own stereotypes, judgement calls, and unfair half treatments of women, their
bodies, and their interiorities. While Eliot provides us female characters, Dinah and
Hetty, as guideposts to understand women s autonomy of decision, we are still given
stale caricatures of saintly self sacrifice and vain, illogical... Show more content on

Dinah, or selfless saint, spends her time focused on the mores of the world, of the
sake of the souls of people, and not on her own comfort or path. While Eliot branches
out in making Dinah a Methodist Minister, she still lives into the feminine standards.
Dinah pushes without pushing too hard and always seeks the betterment of others.
Whereas Hetty, after she met her lover in the woods, rebuked Dinah s attempts to
help her and returned to the woods shortly there after in a state of consciousness that
was fragmented and confused, Dinah returned to her bedchamber and and threw
herself on her knees, and poured out in deep silence all the passionate pity that filled
her heart for Hetty. Hetty, however, cannot be bothered by the concerns, desires, and
vulnerabilities which exist in the other. Eliot curated Hetty to serve as the
counterpoint of to the values Eliot promotes, and while she does some interesting
things with how Hetty is observed by others (which shall not currently be discussed),
Hetty is still representative and modelled in the stereotypical style of the vain woman
willing to forgo duties and her own honor in hopes of attaining higher position and so
called fineries. When Hetty encounters another character she doesn t look into
engaging with their needs or wants, but rather reacts to them based merely off of her
own needs. As Adam desperately attempts to flirt with her by the currant trees, Hetty

Psychosocial Development
Developmental is understood as the act or process of developing; progress such as
child developmental. When children go through the process of developing, they all
develop the same regardless of what state or country there from. The way children
develop has been studied by two psychologists name Jean Piaget and Erik Erikson
and they both develop a theory of how children develop through their entire life
starting as a newborn baby through adulthood. Jean Piaget came about four theories
of children develop and Erik Erikson came about eight theories of children develop.
Psychologist Jean Piaget was born August 9, 1896 in Neuchatel, Switzerland. He was
his parents first born child. Piaget continued his education through high school then
attended the University of Neuchatel where he received his Ph. D in natural science,
then study one semester at the University of Zurich in psychology. During his study
of psychology, he became interesting in psychoanalysis which leads him to later
study abnormal psychology at the Sorbonne in Paris. ( Jean Piaget. Bio. A E

While studying psychology, Jean Piaget became extremely interesting of children

Vital Strategic Management Processes
A strategic leader can utilize decision making teams as a powerful asset in
successfully coping with the environment. Such teams improve their decision making
by using a process of consensus, a process useful when developing national security
strategy, military strategy, or strategic planning in other public or private sectors.
Knowing how to forge consensusfor policy development and implementation is
critical to successful management and leadership. Being able to manage strategic
consensus has been identified as one of the effective methods for the execution of
strategy. Within an organization one of the fundamental priorities consists of
understanding commitment (Floyd and Woolridge, 1992), as this is often reflected in

Cormick.G et al, 1996 states consensus is a process of those who have a stake in the
outcome to reach agreement on actions and outcomes that resolve or advance issues
related to environmental, social, and economic sustainability.
Key attributes to successfully participation include humility, willingness to listen
to others and see their perspectives, and willingness to share your own ideas but not
insist they are the best ones. Decisions are a part of everyday life and can be made
in a variety of ways, but most of the time they are either made individually or in a
group setting. Both individual decision making and group decision making have their
pros and cons, and can even determine the type of individual a person is.
There are major differences between group decision making and individual
decision making. When participants are in a group, decision making could not
only consist of one person s opinion, however everyone s opinion which could
become vital for the final outcome. This could go two ways either it makes it easier
for a final decision to be reached, or make it even harder to reach a final decision.
Group decision making can also be positive because there is more brain power
involved which can ultimately lead to a quick and more efficient type of decision
making.
Consensus is a method used to find a solution where everyone in the team agrees and
is used in company s such as housing operatives, activist

Oedipus Hamartia
In the play Oedipus the King by Sophocles, Oedipus exemplifies a man whose
hamartia is that he does not know himself. Hamartia is a fatal flaw leading to the
tragic downfall of a hero, and Oedipus s fatal flaw is how he does not know his real
self. In the play, the truth about many parts of his life are revealed; such as how
King Polybus and Queen Merope of Corinth are not his real parents, that he was the
one who killed King Lauis and caused the plague to the city, and that his prophecy
was unknowingly fulfilled because he killed his birth father, King Lauis, and married
his birth mother, Queen Jocasta. Oedipuss lack of knowledge about these parts of his
life gives rise to his tragic downfall as the hero of Thebes.
For instance, a messenger sent from Corinth visits Oedipus and Jocasta, from which
they learn that King Polybus has died. His death was due to sickness, not at the
hands of Oedipus, so they believe that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A similar quote made by the author of Guardian of Lost Souls, Pamela Theresa
Loertscher, says, Know thyself and all will be revealed. If one knows who they are,
all truths must be revealed. This connects to Oedipus hamartia because in order to
know who he really is, he had to reveal everything. In Oedipus the King, the truth
about who his real parents are, how he was found, and who killed King Lauis were
all revealed. The truth divulged the secret of Oedipus adoption, that his birth parents
were King Laius and Queen Jocasta, and that he was the one to kill King Lauis.
Although Oedipus was finally able to learn about who he really was, the divulgence
of these truths caused harm. A known saying states that truth hurts, which relates to
Oedipus because his lack of knowledge led to his downfall. Oedipus hamartia is that
he does not know himself, and once he learns is when he meets his
Stanislavski Set Affects The Actor
The second part of this essay looks at how the set affects the actor. Something that
is very prevalent in almost all of the pictures we see of Stanislavski on stage is his
almost cluttered looking stage. Being a fan and believer of Naturalism his goal
would be to bring the audience and even the actors into this world he d created.
Having a fully immersive set yields positive and negative effects for the actors.
The positive for this is as I stated earlier a full sense of immersion. Should the set
looks and feels exactly as it should be then then less imagination is required from the
actor. They can effortlessly work with their surroundings and focus all energy into
their character. If all of these pieces come together the actor can receive

formalism, and New Criticism are literary theories based on the practice of close
reading studying a text in isolation. This practice maintains that the meaning of a text
exists within the text itself. These literary theories share the same principle but use
different methods. Liberal humanism places a strong emphasis on teaching morals,
suggesting the moral of the text should be readily understood. The theory argues that
principles of humanity are universal and timeless and that the purpose of literature is
to enhance human values. Formalism and its contemporary version, New Criticism,

using a unifying narrative to place collective interests on the political agenda (i.e.

however, critiques the identity politics approach to civil rights, maintaining that the

How Is Macbeth Relevant Today
The Modern Relevance of Macbeth There are numerous historical topics and ideas
that consistently have their relevance questioned in the modern world. These
controversial topics include, religious books like the Bible, Martin Luther King Jr s
I Have a Dream. Speech, and many other events in history. One of the most
commonly discussed subjects in relation to relevance is Shakespeare s play Macbeth.
People often say that Macbeth doesn t relate to today s world and culture because
it was written over 400 years ago. Contrary to that belief, Macbeth s complexity
allows it to connect to the modern world better than most of the stories and plays of
today. In Macbeth, Shakespeare displays the themes of corruption, guilt, and the
conflict between fate and free will. All of these themes remain relevant to the 21st
century because human nature has never changed. The first aspect that helps
Macbeth maintain its relevance is the portrayal of corruption through the lead
character, Macbeth. In the beginning of the story, Macbeth is an honest man who is
on good terms with his relative King Duncan. As the story progresses, Macbeth is
corrupted by his desire for power and eventually kills King Duncan for his place on
the throne in Act 2, Scene 1. This same kind of corruption is seen today with... Show

Drug Trafficking Papers
Drug Trafficking
Drug trafficking is the production of drugs done illegally that violate the drug
prohibition laws. Throughout the years, drug trafficking has been progressing and
expanding to the point to where it is now worldwide. Organizations involved in drug
trafficking have been improving their networks, constantly upgrading their
transportation and equipment, having new methods to transport the drugs and
communication throughout the system, and finding information on their employees
to use against them which makes it harder for law enforcement to keep up and take
action to reduce the problem of drug trafficking.
The illegal transportation of drugs started to become serious whenever the
Medellin Cartel began to dominate the cocaine business. The Medellin Cartel was
ran by the Ochoa Vazquez brothers Jorge Luis, Juan David, and Fabio; Pablo
Escobar, Carlos Lehder, George Jung, and Jose Gonzalo Rodriguez Gacha. In
1975, the Colombian police found 600 kilos of cocaine stashed in a plane. Drug
traffickers responded to the police by killing 40 people in one weekend which is
known as the Medellin Massacre. The massacre led to the uprising of various
killings, assassinations, kidnappings, and the discovery of a hit list that contained
U.S. businessmen, embassy members, and their families. It was then when violence
was beginning to grow in Miami and drug traffickers were involved, that the Vice

Volumnia, unlike the other women in the play such as Virgilia, does not recoil from
war and the battlefield. Instead, Volumnia both identifies with the war heroand
delights in both his triumphs and his pain. In describing the pride she would gain
from her sons deaths in battle, Volumnia separates herself from the other women in
the play who want nothing to do with war, I had rather eleven die nobly for their
country than one voluptuously surfeit out of action. (1.3.20 21). Thus the pride
that Coriolanus derives from his own wounds and wounded body is a product of
his mother s pride in having a wounded son. Volumnia describes with pride
Coriolanus s bloody brow, Though you were born in Rome! His bloody brow

from her son s victories and injuries winds up reflecting itself on Coriolanus who
describes these victories and wounds with equal pride. By the end of the first act,
Volumnia s descriptions of mothering demonstrate the warlike spirit she has
channeled into her raising of Coriolanus. The imagery she uses in Act 1 Scene 3
also separates her from the other women in the play. Volumnia speaks of blood,
swords, and death, while women like Virgilia speak of sewing and butterflies.
Volumnia s speech patterns put her in the commanding position in her relationship
with Coriolanus. In Act 5 Scene 3,
Difference Between Classical And Contingency Theories
According to the article published by Booz Company, Walgreen, an American
Pharmacy store chain implemented a huge structural and design change in order to
sustain in the modern business environment. Observing competitive landscape
change with new rivals and online players like Amazon and significant changes in
healthcare sector, Walgreen decided to change its old expansion policy Seven by 10
plan (i.e. 7000 stores by 2010) to improving the customer experience policy. In order
to implement new strategy they had to move from centralization to decentralization,
from tall structure to flatter structure, from authoritative leadership to engaged
leadership (Orvis, M.2017). Thus, strategy changes are inevitable in all organizations
leading to structure and designing changes. Along with the changing policies the
theories of organizational behaviour keep evolving. Hence we have traditional
classical theories on one hand while modern contingency approaches on other hand.
In this essay, I will explore and discuss classical and contingency theories along with
their contributions and limitations with the help of contemporary organizational
practices of businesses like McDonalds and Walgreen. The conclusion will be the
result of evaluation of various theories and thus answering the question which is the
best structure and designing approach for an organization? The Classical theories

Trans-Panama Canal Benefits
The advantages of building a canal through Central America were known long ago.
Even at the time Christopher Columbus first arrived in the New World, it was
evident that a short cut through Central America would be extremely beneficial, but
there was never an incentive to build one until many years later. The increase in
population and trade in California because of the California gold rush demonstrated
the need for a faster and less costly trade route from western America to eastern
America. This gave the United Statesmotivation to make a shortcut, and in 1848 the
United States built the trans Panama railroad to satisfy this need ( Panama, city,

Nicaragua. It provided a head start on construction, a shorter route, and included a
railroad which allowed for easy transportation of construction equipment for the canal
(Pearson). With this information, Cromwell convinced the United States government
that the Panama route was the better option, which led congress to enact the Spooner
Act. This stated that if the president could obtain the rights from Colombia, who
controlled Panama, it would be constructed there. Otherwise, the canal would be built

Essay on COllapse by Jared Diamond
Although Greenland and Australia are thousands of miles apart and very different
in geography, they also have many similarities. In his book Collapse , Jared
Diamond shows that both countries have the five factors that can contribute to a
society s collapse. Greenland s Norse society already collapsed a long time ago,
while Australia is still a First World country going strong. If some things there don t
change, the country s living standard will go down and there could be major problems.
The first factor in Diamond s five point framework is environmental damage. In
Greenland, the Norse destroyed the natural vegetation, caused soil erosion and cut
turn (Diamond, 248). They burned or cut down trees to clear land for farming and ...

Rainfall is low and unpredictable in Australia. In summary, the environmental
problems there are similar to Greenland under the Norse, including deforestation,
overgrazing and soil erosion, but also salinization, introduced species, water shortage
and man made droughts (Diamond, 379).
When the Norse arrived in Greenland, the climate was relatively mild (Diamond,
266). Even then, conditions were not good for living the same lifestyle as in
Norway. It was colder there with longer winters and the soil was worse. Then, in
the 1400s, the Little Ice Age happened, and there was even less hay to feed the
cattle. So, the Norse were faced with a second factor in the five point framework:
climate change. In Australia, there was no ice age, but the climate changed too. The
first settlers arrived during a number of wet years and thought that was normal.
They started raising sheep and cattle expecting rain every year. However, the author
states that enough rain falls only in about half of all years in most areas, and in
some only during 2 in 10 years (Diamond, 384).
Moving on to the third factor, the author explains that the Norse were definitely faced
with hostile neighbors in Greenland. He states that Inuit attacks and threats may have
played a direct role in the Vikings extinction (Diamond, 255). The Norse had a bad
attitude towards the Inuit, and probably attacked and killed the first ones they say.
The Inuit had
The Effect Of Glass On Everyday Life
3.Discussion
3.1.Effect of Glass on Everyday Life
Mirrors and their applications were pivotal in the development of the sciences of
optics, chemistry and astronomy (Rasmussen, 2012). It has even been said that the
Renaissance and the Scientific Revolution might not have happened if not for the
invention of mirrors (MacFarlane, 2002). Eyeglasses have been said to be one of the
greatest inventions ever because without them, people born with poor vision not only
find performing daily tasks much more difficult, but would also be severely
constrained in terms of the amount of education they can receive and thus in their life
opportunities.
This is further underlined when one takes into account the fact that approximately 6
out of 10 people in the world today either wear glasses, contact lenses, or have
previously undergone corrective eye surgery. Even for those born with good vision,
they typically lose their ability to focus by their mid 40s, which means that
eyeglasses have considerably lengthened the intellectual lifespan of a person. The
impact of eyeglasses on society thus cannot be understated.
The impacts of the microscope and telescope are massive, especially to the fields of
medicine and science. The modern discoveries ... Show more content on

Bioglass is deemed more suitable to be implanted in bodies because of their inert
qualities as compared to metals corrosive and reactive nature. Compared to the way
metals replace tissue, Bioglass value adds the replacement process through the ability
to bond damaged tissues, resulting in healing functions of bones ( Work advances on
bioglass replacements for metal implants , 2013). As a result, Bioglass is widely
adopted for healthcare purposes in terms of tissues replacement as well as for
repairing of bones due to their better suitability than metal
The Laramie Project, By Moses Kaufman Essay
Introduction
Moses Kaufman is the producer of the successful play The Laramie Project after a
horrific incident that occurred in Laramie. Members of the artistic group of
Kaufman s, traveled to Laramie to find out more about the horrific incidence. The
main aim of the whole project was to find the emotions, reactions, and reflections
that the people of Laramie manifested concerning the beating and subsequent death
of a twenty three year old college student (Gale, 2016). A lot of questions were
raised concerning the death as people had different point of views. Some thought it
was a hate crime, others thought it was just a brutal assault or a form of robbery.
Four hundred interviews were conducted so as to come up with the reasons behind
the brutal murder straight from the town folks. The main issue was how
homosexuality was defined in the crime. The Laramie Project, questioned the rights of
the LGBT+ group. For example, why were Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, and
Transgenders discriminated by the community and the society as a whole even
though their rights were constitutional?
Context
From the play, Matthew Shepard a college student at the University of Wyoming
was tied up in a cattle fence. The student was majoring in political science and was
believed to be gay, and he did not like hiding the fact that he is one. Matthew was
free and open. In one cold night, in October, Matthew was brutally beaten up in the
head, robbed and later tied up on a fence and was left to stay

  • 1. Heart Disease Essay Writing an essay on the topic of heart disease can be a challenging yet rewarding task. The difficulty lies not only in the complexity of the subject matter but also in the need to strike a balance between providing comprehensive information and maintaining the reader's interest. To begin with, heart disease encompasses a broad spectrum of conditions, from coronary artery disease to heart failure, each requiring a thorough understanding of medical concepts and terminology. Gathering accurate and up-to-date information from reliable sources is crucial to ensure the essay's credibility. The challenge intensifies when attempting to present complex medical information in a way that is accessible to a diverse audience with varying levels of prior knowledge. Moreover, crafting an engaging and coherent narrative is essential to keep the reader invested in the essay. Striking the right tone – informative yet not overly technical – is another hurdle to overcome. Additionally, incorporating personal anecdotes or real-life examples can humanize the content and make it more relatable, but it requires a delicate touch to avoid straying into inappropriate or overly emotional territory. Furthermore, addressing the various causes, risk factors, and prevention methods for heart disease involves navigating a vast sea of scientific research, statistics, and epidemiological data. Synthesizing this information into a cohesive and logically structured essay demands not only strong analytical skills but also the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly. In conclusion, writing an essay on heart disease requires a combination of research prowess, medical knowledge, and effective communication skills. It's a task that demands careful consideration of both the scientific intricacies and the need to engage a diverse audience. • 3. Seven Deadly Sins In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet... From the beginning of time there has been the idea of God and the sins that God has applied. There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers (Proverbs 6:16 19). The seven deadly sinsare pride, gluttony, sloth, envy, greed, anger, and lust. Pride is the excessive belief that one person has so much belief in himself and his abilities, that it interferes with the person s realization of the grace of God. Pride is also known for the excessive pride in one s achievements, or in other words, vanity. Gluttony is to eat and drink more than one person requires. Sloth is extreme laziness and not wanting to do anything. Envy is the desire to have another person s qualities or abilities and this is very sinful because it shows you are not happy with what you have and want what other people have. This actually happened in Korea by Japan in early 20th century. They were suffered, despaired and frustrated. People were living because they couldn t die. There was no hope, dream or confidence either. But there is a way out of every situation. People never gave up whatever happened as if they are metals that become stronger and stronger as they are beat. Now I ll examine the reason, fault, process, and lessons one by one. First of all, what are the reasons that made Japan to colonize Korea? I found that there were very interesting reasons. In late 19th century, Japan was so unstable even if Meiji government unified the whole country. Most of groups in the government fought to expand each influences, even there were signs of re division. The government needed to turn their attention to the other way, outside of country.... As a result, it stabilized the political situation domestically and established a foothold to colonize Asia. By the way, didn t Korea have any faults? Both sides are responsible for this incident. I would describe my mother as a strong and independent woman, my role model; I can t think of another person that means a great deal to me. My mother is the sweetest and the trust worthiest person, but she can also be tough and deliberate. My grandparent s personalities are strict, therefore my motherwas raised in a harsh environment, this thought her to be strong and that not everything is easy in life or handed to you. I consider her as the hardest working person I ever know, consequently thanks to her hard work she achieved countless goals in her life. She would always say to me you have to work hard to achieve your dreams , I believe her. If you knew her you ll be impressed by her strong character, moreover, she is someone that you will admire if you met her and knew her. She makes a wonderful mother and I m sure she will make a great friend. My mother s name is Lidia Montano Ramos, she was born in La Paz, Bolivia; there she lived most of her life, next to the side of my father who is her husband, moreover now they have 23 years married. If you ever wanted to meet my mother, you could, it s obvious to tell her apart from a crowd. The first thing that calls for attention is her hair, she has wavy hair, s waves mixed with natural ringlets fighting the frizz that could be noticed for a long distance. Her hair is always in a messy low ponytail, but when she is going somewhere elegant she frees her hair and puts it down, you ll recognize the difference. The second point to notice is her lips, they are much the same as a fresh coral pink, the upper lipis darker than the lower. She has a tiny scar on the right side of the upper lip almost untraceable, however, it s most likely that you will not notice it. When she paints her bow shaped lips, she likes the diva red. Her hair and her lips are traits that stand out the further, she has other characteristics too, although they don t stand out as much as her hair and lips. Her character is one of the strongest assets she has. She treats everyone equally with respect, but if you disrespect her, she will just simply walk away without saying a word. Even though
  • 8. Effective Workplace Communication Listening and Effective Workplace Communication James Humes, a former presidential speech writer, stated that, the art of communication is the language of leadership (Leading Thoughts, 2010). Communication is an essential process that is common in the workplace. Everyone in the workplace especially leaders must communicate with others. Ideas, conversations, disagreements, and commitments can all be exchanged through communication. Anyone can communicate but it takes discipline and skills to effectively communicate. These skills can include feedback, presentation, non verbal communication, and listening. Listening is the most valuable skills to effective workplace communication because it enhances job effectiveness, relationships ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If a guest calls down to the front desk and complains about their room the front desk clerk needs to actively listen to know how to respond. A response may include sending up an item that was requested by the guest or escalating the problem to upper management. Intently listening to the message that is presented will help employees and managers respond in an appropriate manner. A response to listening does not always have to verbal. A non verbal response like smiling or nodding can be an appropriate response. It does not matter if the response is verbal or non verbal, listening will help to ensure that the response is effective. People tend to assume that the most important part of the pyramid is the top but they are incorrect. The bottom of the pyramid is the most important part of the pyramid. The bottom of the pyramid is the foundation on which the other blocks stand. If there was a pyramid to represent communication skills, listening would be the foundation or the base for communication. Communication skills build on each other and the skill that is used for the moment in time is the tip of the pyramid. Truly effective communication involves more than just expressing yourself clearly. It also requires effective listening (Brown, 2009). Listening helps to strengthen the other communication skills like feedback and presentation. It is hard to present to an audience without understanding the audience s needs. To understand the

Computer science also deals with knowing all or most languages of code such as Java, Python, or Linux. Along my path to deciding that I wanted to major in computer science, I faced many obstacles and was a part of many experiences that pushed me towards this field. Some events would be as simple as my family designating me the honorary Tech Guy or my friends coming to me for advice on their computers. Those things are what sparked my interest. Then came my first coding class. It was one of the most difficult things I have ever done and it was so immense. So many commands and combinations and it just didn t seem to make sense. But then I realized, it was made by someone. People have a knack for creating patterns. It is how the humanbrain works, we take all the large amount of data that is thrown at our brains and then we make shortcuts like seeing patterns. So that s what humans did to the machines. We gave them the same mindset. So I started noticing shortcuts in the data and patterns and soon everything started to click. I know I am a good match for computer science because of my mindset. I am very logical and my mind appeals to common sense, which coding kind of revolves around. I have a love for technology. The abilities Man has gained just from a few steel and plastic clumps with electricity in them. It really is amazing to me. Also, I

Unlike these helpless creatures, I and millions of other children grew up to become men and women who said Enough. No longer would we accept our fate. So we fought back and change our destiny to what we wanted, not what others tried to determine for us. The beatings I endured became routine, the pain dulled, and as a child lying in bed sobbing, battered from the nights punishment, I swore that I would never let any child, woman or animal suffer like this. • 14. Technology In The Hunger Games The Hunger Games presents a rather dystopian alternative to life in the United States as compared to the present time. To audiences, the story provides exciting entertainment as well as raising many ethical, moral, and political questions. However, there is another aspect of The Hunger Games which proves fascinating in an economical sense the technology. Throughout the drama, contrasts in technological advancement show how important technology is to economic health. In the beginning of the film, District 12 is shown to be a place whose residence are barely surviving. With food being scarce and the dangerous employment of the mines providing little support, the people of the district represent one of the lowest social classes in Panem. What little economy exists is based on trading and bartering rather than on the transfer of currency. Even those type of exchanges seen and mentioned in the movie are for necessities, such as food and clothes, and not often for luxuries. The lack of technology is especially startling. Minimal electricity is to be found, and even basic plumbing seems nonexistent in most homes. People are forced to work the mines manually with little safety gear, as made evident in the death of Katniss s father, and with little compensation, as made evident by the extreme scarcity. Considering that the civil war had been around seventy four years earlier, the low state of District 12 is both economically and technologically surprising. After all that time,

Growth prospects e commerce E commerce has continued to be a business trend and it continued to grow in 2015. According to the data the Stefany Zaroban got from the U.S. Commerce Department, the web sales in 2015 totaled $341.7 billion for the year, a 14.6% increase over 2014 s $298.3 billion (Zaroban, 2016). Like in 2014 of December, they were able to add a one hour delivery for prime members, add in HBO GO on Amazon Fire TV, Ultra HD Movies and TV Shows on Amazon Instant Video, included in a Make an Offer for customers, and much more throughout
  • 20. Reflection About Identity Identity is very difficult to fully comprehend, but it is vital to the purpose of every man, woman, and child that has lived and ever will live on the earth. As precisely expressed by Erik Erikson, In the social jungle of human existence, there is no feeling of being alive without a sense of identity. As defined by Merriam Webster, identity is The distinguishing character or personality of an individual. However, this definitionfalls short of the true meaning of the word, as it does not openly state the deciding factor for the perception of a person s identity. For this reason, it is necessary to redefine the word in order to properly convey its meaning to those that do not fully understand it, as well as clarify by whom it is ascertained. Identity is how one perceives oneself, based primarily on the behaviors exhibited by this person. A more precise definition of identity could not have been taught to me any better than by my first venture from the state of Iowa to the valley town of Estes Park, Colorado. For a reason I still do not understand in its entirety, it brought me to better understand myself by truly comprehending in what esteem I hold myself, and perhaps what I one day strive to achieve. The novelty and charm of the place were greatest the first time I experienced it, and I felt an indescribable sense of peace that unfortunately did not entirely carry forward in future years. After driving through what seemed like the most featureless mass of land in the

However, the method of magnetic resonance imagining in the fetus has not been studied enough in the context of a cancerrisk fetus in regards to fetus safety. Some experts suggest that there should be early induction of the newborn, if they have been identified as harboring high risk features on screening tests. However, this approach is not accepted with all experts in the USA. However, when dealing with the germline version of the disease, there is a high risk of developing a second primary tumor elsewhere. Usually, this second tumor is osteosarcoma. This is due to the fact that the pRB protein, encoded by RB1, functions directly as a coactivator in the transcription of osteoblast differentiation (OMIM). Single stranded conformational polymorphism and DNA sequencing have been used to analyze retinoblastoma tumors. In most cases, a single point mutation is the cause of the first hit and

Because of their violent actions, environmental activists have been legally deemed terrorists. According to McLaughlin et al, (2008), the distance in proximity between people affects people s levels of comfort and can cause anxiety. Fear and lack of trust are among the most typical barriers to effective communication. People can be hesitant to communicate in particular their thoughts as well as their feelings for fear of being criticised, getting negative reactions, or getting an angry response. if people lack trust they might be hesitant to communicate, not just their feelings and thoughts, but any ideas they might have. For example, the situation was hugely affected by the service user s current emotions which involved her family members constantly shouting and criticising her. She appeared nervous and anxious especially whenever one of her parents came into the kitchen. It was evident that she was not listening actively to what was being said. Analysis Of George Eliot s Adam Bede In George Eliot s Adam Bede we witness an illustration of the discussion between not only crime, but morality, values, and extraordinarily, beauty as well. The so called universal ideal of femininity is, according to our novelist s own interpretation, being interrogated sternly. Unfortunately, what we find in Eliot s own interrogation method of these structures is just another, albeit different, version of Liberal Humanism with its own stereotypes, judgement calls, and unfair half treatments of women, their bodies, and their interiorities. While Eliot provides us female characters, Dinah and Hetty, as guideposts to understand women s autonomy of decision, we are still given stale caricatures of saintly self sacrifice and vain, illogical... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dinah, or selfless saint, spends her time focused on the mores of the world, of the sake of the souls of people, and not on her own comfort or path. Whereas Hetty, after she met her lover in the woods, rebuked Dinah s attempts to help her and returned to the woods shortly there after in a state of consciousness that was fragmented and confused, Dinah returned to her bedchamber and and threw herself on her knees, and poured out in deep silence all the passionate pity that filled her heart for Hetty. Hetty, however, cannot be bothered by the concerns, desires, and vulnerabilities which exist in the other. Eliot curated Hetty to serve as the counterpoint of to the values Eliot promotes, and while she does some interesting things with how Hetty is observed by others (which shall not currently be discussed), Hetty is still representative and modelled in the stereotypical style of the vain woman willing to forgo duties and her own honor in hopes of attaining higher position and so called fineries. It was colder there with longer winters and the soil was worse. Then, in the 1400s, the Little Ice Age happened, and there was even less hay to feed the cattle. So, the Norse were faced with a second factor in the five point framework: climate change. In Australia, there was no ice age, but the climate changed too. The first settlers arrived during a number of wet years and thought that was normal. They started raising sheep and cattle expecting rain every year. However, the author states that enough rain falls only in about half of all years in most areas, and in some only during 2 in 10 years (Diamond, 384). Moving on to the third factor, the author explains that the Norse were definitely faced with hostile neighbors in Greenland. He states that Inuit attacks and threats may have played a direct role in the Vikings extinction (Diamond, 255). The Norse had a bad attitude towards the Inuit, and probably attacked and killed the first ones they say. The Inuit had
  • 44. The Effect Of Glass On Everyday Life 3.Discussion 3.1.Effect of Glass on Everyday Life Mirrors and their applications were pivotal in the development of the sciences of optics, chemistry and astronomy (Rasmussen, 2012). It has even been said that the Renaissance and the Scientific Revolution might not have happened if not for the invention of mirrors (MacFarlane, 2002). Eyeglasses have been said to be one of the greatest inventions ever because without them, people born with poor vision not only find performing daily tasks much more difficult, but would also be severely constrained in terms of the amount of education they can receive and thus in their life opportunities. This is further underlined when one takes into account the fact that approximately 6 out of 10 people in the world today either wear glasses, contact lenses, or have previously undergone corrective eye surgery. Even for those born with good vision, they typically lose their ability to focus by their mid 40s, which means that eyeglasses have considerably lengthened the intellectual lifespan of a person. The impact of eyeglasses on society thus cannot be understated. The impacts of the microscope and telescope are massive, especially to the fields of medicine and science. The modern discoveries ... Compared to the way metals replace tissue, Bioglass value adds the replacement process through the ability to bond damaged tissues, resulting in healing functions of bones ( Work advances on bioglass replacements for metal implants , 2013). As a result, Bioglass is widely adopted for healthcare purposes in terms of tissues replacement as well as for repairing of bones due to their better suitability than metal
  • 45. The Laramie Project, By Moses Kaufman Essay Introduction Moses Kaufman is the producer of the successful play The Laramie Project after a horrific incident that occurred in Laramie. Members of the artistic group of Kaufman s, traveled to Laramie to find out more about the horrific incidence. The main aim of the whole project was to find the emotions, reactions, and reflections that the people of Laramie manifested concerning the beating and subsequent death of a twenty three year old college student (Gale, 2016). A lot of questions were raised concerning the death as people had different point of views. Some thought it was a hate crime, others thought it was just a brutal assault or a form of robbery. Four hundred interviews were conducted so as to come up with the reasons behind the brutal murder straight from the town folks. The main issue was how homosexuality was defined in the crime. The Laramie Project, questioned the rights of the LGBT+ group. For example, why were Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, and Transgenders discriminated by the community and the society as a whole even though their rights were constitutional? Context From the play, Matthew Shepard a college student at the University of Wyoming was tied up in a cattle fence. The student was majoring in political science and was believed to be gay, and he did not like hiding the fact that he is one. Matthew was free and open. In one cold night, in October, Matthew was brutally beaten up in the head, robbed and later tied up on a fence and was left to stay
