Portuguese, Spanish, And Spanish Colonization Of America
There are many differences in the way that the Portuguese, Spanish, French, and English colonized
their land. Their land was either colonized for trade, profit, and religious freedom. The
colonization of their land came with diligent work due to the fact that when colonizing most did
not succeed on their first try. There are struggles with opposing colonies trying to fight over land
that both places want for themselves. The best part about this is the land they receive can be used
for valued goods.
The Spanish colonization all began with Columbus in 1492 and advancing for nearly 350 years.
Spain conquered and settled most of South America and the Caribbean. Accordingly, it all started
when Columbus had been searching for a new route to the Indies. Columbus was sure that he had
found it, so he continued his voyages. Settlements by the Spanish that were found earlier were on
the islands of the Caribbean. On Columbus s fourth and final voyage in he found a large canoe off
the coast of what is now Honduras filled with trade goods. He boarded the canoe and rifled through
the cargo which included cacao beans, copper, flint axes, copper bells, pottery, and colorful cotton
garments. He took one prisoner and what he wanted from the cargo and let the canoe continue. This
was the first contact that the Spanish had with the civilizations of Central America, and this would
further influence the Spanish. Another thing that erupted was The Treaty of Tordesillas, which was
an attempt

Examples Of If I Were The Ussr Essay
If I were the USSR, I would respond to the rebuilding of Germany, the Berlin Airlift, Nato, and
the National Security Act by not trying to go hand and hand with the United States in terms of
alliances and in developing military weapons. You could make the case that by the creation of
NATO and the CIA, it was the start of the decline of the USSR. The USSR should never have put
up a blockade against the Germans because it would later cause the Berlin Airlift which supplied
Germany with supplies by the United Statesand British planes going into West Berlin. When Stalin
decided not to challenge the Berlin Airlift it created a ripple effect to it. When the USSR finally
uplifted the eleven month blockade two new German armies were created: the Federal Republic of
Germany and the German Democratic Republic.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the US and Canadians joined with ten other European countries creating NATO, (which was
used to defend one another from an outside attack), the USSR created the Warsaw Pact, (which
was used for the defense of Communist countries in Europe). However, by doing this, the USSR
did not have many strong military countries which led to the decline of power in Eastern Europe.
If I were the USSR, I would have never tried to split up Europe because it took away power from
the Soviets. By the creation of the National Security Act by the US, the CIA more specifically, it
put out spies to gather information on foreign countries. When the US made all the alliances they
were really just setting themselves up for the Cold War because they needed to form alliances with
non Communist countries around the world, which they did in the NATO

Liberal News Media Analysis
News sources are networks where many people are informed about important news event. Being
liberal bias about news networks is to be open to new opinions about an event and sometimes
can be given false information or misinterpretation about it. Having a conservative view about
the news is still having to hold to certain beliefs and values and being cautious about what
changes are happening. Many people get news from the six powers house news networks that
are either liberal or conservative. CBS, ABC, and NBC were the only news networks, since
1948, where people were able to get the recent news happening and are now considered the
mainstream news channels which also have a liberal view about the news. CNN, MSNBC, and

These cable news started in the 1980s because the mainstream news did not get all the
information out and were not telling the whole truth. Later in 1996, FOX News started and
became really popular because of being both liberal and conservative and were considered the
truth seekers. FOX News decided to become a news network because since all the other six news
networks were not telling the whole truth, Fox decided to get the information and tell the truth
without lying and getting everything out. Before cable news, the mainstream news networks were
the only channels where many people get the news. All three news networks talk about the same
event happening currently, but not all will have the same details and have different information
and sometimes that information is not truth or correct because these news sources want to be the
first ones to get the news on air for people to view and at times leave out the main focus of the
occurrence. ABC, CBS, and NBC are liberal bias and at times misinterpreted the news and give
false information. According to an online timeline of the television in the

The Storm Literary Analysis Essay
In The Storm , Kate Chopin told a story about a man and a woman, who is having an affair while
her husband and kid are stuck at the store due to a storm. As a human being sometimes we have
urges that are biologically establish in ours body s to react with the environment that are

Out of nowhere, there were an old yet familiar face riding his horse toward her home. Alone in

Rhetorical Analysis Of Virginia Woolf
Rhetorical Analysis Essay Woolf Alanna Kellam 1B In her memoir, Virginia Woolf discusses a
valuable lesson learned during her childhood fishing trips in Cornwall, England. To convey the
significance of past moments, Woolf incorporates detailed figurative language and a variety of
syntax into her writing. Woolf communicates an appreciative tone of the past to the audience,
emphasizing its lasting impact on her life. Woolf organizes her writing using various forms of
syntax which contributes to the significance of the memory. The author s portrayal of the setting is
recounted with long, detailed sentences in order to illustrate its importance. The excitement of
fishing is depicted as Woolf retells Sometimes the lines would be handed to us; baited by gobbets
cut from fish; and the line thrilled in one s fingers as the boat tossed and shot through the water (12
15). The author includes multiple semicolons not only to extend the sentence, but to also present
similar ideas in a like structure. Notably, the author conveys tactile imagery to support the lengthy
sentences with compelling details. The tossing of the boat and the touch of the fishing line
embodies the exciting chaos the author had felt in the past. As a result, readers are then able to
understand the specific attributes of Woolf s memory that made the experience significant.
Additionally, Woolf further develops the impact of her excitement as she describes ...and then how
can I convey the excitement? there was a little leaping tug... (15 17). Again, lengthy sentence
structure helps to connect the images of her memory. The dashes communicate to readers a sense
of the author s internal thoughts, as if she was writing all that was on her mind. The dashes outline
changes in the flow of the language, so that readers can note clearly defined shifts. They also
symbolize the vividness of her memories, therefore the significance of the events in her situation.
Unique from the majority of the sentences, Woolf includes declarative structure as she states It was
a perfect lesson (25). The line stands out to the readers, amongst the other sentences, because of its
length, which is intended to convey an idea directly. The

King Lear Nature
The concept of nature has become layered with many complexities due to the numerous ways the
word can be interpreted. It could mean anything from the inherent character or basic constitution of
a person or thing to the external world in its entirety to a spontaneous attitude (Merriam Webster).
However, despite its many forms, in its essence, nature as a concept implicates powerlessness for
individuals. It will always be something that is beyond human control, whether it be the forces that
work around people such as weather or animals, or the innate and uncontrollable characteristics
within one s personality. Nature has control over the world, and one can decide to either fight this
authority or succumb to it. This idea is seen very... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this play, words function as a mask that characters hide behind, while actions show their true
intentions. Accordingly, after the daughters who have no deep love for their father profess their
affection for him in a mendacious display of emotion, the daughter that loves Lear most,
Cordelia, refuses to compliment him, claiming she cannot heave [her] heart into [her mouth]
(1.1.88 89). She decides to rely on the actions of her past to reveal her affections, however, Lear
has yet to accept the value of honesty, so he rails against his youngest daughter exclaiming Let it
be so! Thy truth then be thy dower ...here I disclaim all my paternal care, propinquity and
property of blood, and as a stranger to my heart and me hold thee from this forever. (1.1.110
115). Both Lear s strong reaction and his rejection of truth and honesty reflect his own
insecurities and inability to divulge his genuine nature. Having lived his whole life like a
performance on stage, he feels threatened by Cordelia s rejection of a false grandeur which Lear,
whether he realizes it or not, sees as a personal attack against his own fabricated identity.
Consequently, lashing out from his jealousy for Cordelia s ability to remain true to herself, Lear
acts against his better judgment by banishing her, and foreshadows the ironic trajectory of this story.
As the play progresses, King Lear transcends from a point of supreme power to the lowest and most

Gender s Role in College Sports Essay
Gender s Role in College Sports
Throughout generations, humans have played organized games and sports. For that same amount
of time, it has been instilled that men are faster, stronger, and just plain better at athletics. We also
have come to realize that the slower, weaker, and not as good women make up for physical strength
with mental prowess, to succeed on the playing fields and courts of the world. However, this
concept has not caught up with athletic directors, coaches, and trustees boards across the country.
Women s athletics is still not given the financial backing, the practice facilities, the correct training

Geno Auriemma, coach of the UConn s Women s Basketball team, has a record of 393 95 (.805)

winning percentage, and more national championships the women s coach would be paid better.
Yeah okay, this is America. Geno Auriemma s salary was about $ 250,000 for the year, while his
male coaching counterpart made $ 875,000. (March 2000 issue of Connecticut Magazine) This

the Detroit Free Press coaches of women s teams, earn 67 cents to every dollar that a coach of a

women s program. The Detroit Free Press analysis shows women s sports get 25 percent of the
athletic budgets, 27 percent of the recruiting dollars and 38 percent of the financial aid. The
average Big 12 School spent an average of 2.2 million dollars on its men s programs. The

Details from this novel by Kate Chopin demonstrate how this quote aptly captures the theme and
spirit of The Awakening, as well as the situation of women in the nineteenth century and even
today. First, one most look to the white beach, Edna has trod on her entire life. This beach is the
safe and sturdy ground that Adele Ratignolle thrives upon. Attired all in white, Madame
Ratignolle embodies the very spirit of the mother woman. They were women who idolized their
children, worshiped their husbands, and esteemed it a holy privilege to efface themselves as
individuals and grow wings as ministering angels. Ch. IV, pg 385. However, on this white beach,
where women in white brood over all, . . .Edna was not a mother woman. Ch. IV, pg 385. Rather
than dig her toes into the colorless sands, Edna prefers meandering walks, perhaps on the shoreline
itself. The imagery of Edna walking along as the waters lap at her feet is profound.
Edna is thus far trapped on the ground, not yet knowing how to swim, but wanting desperately to
swim into the boundless water. Therefore, she must be content with life on land, experiencing
only a portion of the fluid as it swirls around her ankles. So Edna marries a man her father
approves of, has children her husband approves of, and mimes a life society approves of. Here and
there, the water of living laps at Edna s feet tempting her to jump in.

when the Nazis were defeated. Adolf Hitler and the Nazis targeted Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals,
Communists, Jehovah s witnesses, twins, and the disabled. Concentration camps were set up to

contained a rock inside of it. Dunstan quickly moved out of the way but little did they know, Mrs.
Dempster was standing right behind Dunstan. The snowball ended up hitting Mrs. Dempster in the
head which then caused her to become simple minded. Dunstan realized that Mrs. Dempster

How Did Machiavelli s Political Views Influence American...
In The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli, Machiavelli writes about 16th century principalities and
how its princes should act. However, while these ideals may seem dated, Machiavelli s description
holds many similarities and differences to American politics today. Machiavelli s views on
republics serve as the first difference between his political views and the American government.
Machiavelli generally puts those in a republic in a negative light by claiming that the subjects of
a republic are not used to standing up for themselves and cannot agree to give themselves a
leader. Therefore, it is not a sturdy government to capture. Instead of finding the idea of no
singular person being a leader a good way to ensure statewide cooperation and content,
Machiavelli claims that, In republics there is more vitality, greater hatred, and more desire for
vengeance, (Machiavelli, Chapter V). Which is a far cry to the American government s oath to
all of its freedoms and liberties. Machiavelli moves on to say that the safest way to capture a
republic state is to destroy it altogether. This shows his views on republics are very much negative
and that he believes they are almost a nuisance to a prince trying to maintain a state. Of course this
is a drastic difference to the American government, where its subjects thrive in a republic. In other
words, while Machiavelli believes no state could be maintained as a republic, the American
government proves that it could still be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Five most Important Events in U.S History
Five Most Important Events in U.S. History
To me, the most important events that left their mark on America were; Osama Bin Laden s death,
the American Revolution, September 11, 2001, Apollo 11, and Lincoln s assassination. I am going
to be arguing the reason why I believe all of these events to be the most significant, and important in
the United States.
Osama Bin Laden
Hitler and Laden were good friends throughout all of these attacks and damage caused. Laden
had plenty of supporters, but still nobody could take all of his serious, awful acts, seriously.
People say and have said that because of his death, we are now free at last. Bin Laden was such a
terrible person because of all of the attacks, deaths, and damage he caused. Laden would go out of
his way to get at the Americans by hijacking planes, destroying major land marks, and killing lots
of people. Americans now feel safe because of his death.
The American Revolution
The establishment of America was because of this event. George Washington was the leader of the
continental army. During this the Americans faced very hard obstacles. A majority of Americans
had opposed to war in the early 1775 year. Only about a third of Americans supported this war. This
meant independence. U. S. History all started with this. The surrender of Lord Cornwallis at
Yorktown is what marked the end of the War. It was the last war of the American Revolution. These
battles were all very stunning, intense, unexpected events

The Face Of Battle By John Keegan
John Keegan describes his book, The Face of Battle, as a personal attempt to catch a glimpse of the
face of battle. This personal aspect that Keegan mentions is essential to his book and is excellently
articulated, driving home his point. Keegan, who taught at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst for
over 25 years, begins by acknowledging his uneasiness with the fact that even though he taught
British cadets militaryhistory, I have not been in a battle; not near one, nor heard one from afar,
nor seen the aftermath . . . And I grow increasingly convinced that I have very little idea of what
a battle can be like. Keegan is clear to state his proposition that almost all military history has
functioned simply as a battle piece description in which one can see all the larger moving aspects
followed by the outcome. However, this sort of recounting fails to acknowledge the personal side
of war, the experience of battle. What really ensues when a cavalry unit meets an infantry unit?
What are the vital features in determining whether soldiers stand and fight or turn and run?
Having proposed that military history has been failing in its duty, Keegan then continues to
demonstrate how it should be done. The battles of Agincourt, Waterloo, and the Somme are the
main interests of the book; these battles took place centuries apart and all involved British armies.
He examines, in detail, which aspects of war changed or remain constant between the three battles.
Keegan brilliantly and

Human Interference Of The Atmosphere
Greenhouse effect is the process where heat is trapped by greenhouse gases present in the
atmosphere to keep the Earth warm. The planet s atmosphere contains these radiatively active
gases, that radiate energy in all direction. Greenhouse gases are already present in the atmosphere;
without them the Earthwould be significantly cold enough to freeze the oceans. To understand how
important and harmful the greenhouse gases can be for the planet, we need to answer these
questions. Do extra greenhouse gases upset the Earth s natural balance and make it even warmer?
Is there any extra insertion of the gases in the atmosphere by humans? If so, how significant are the
effects? This essay will discuss in detail, the mechanism that... Show more content on

How is radiative equilibrium achieved? The global surface temperature averaged over daily and
seasonal series, remains constant. Earth surface receives 340 watts/m2 of radiant energy, if the
global surface temperature averaged daily remains constant, therefore Earth s surface must be
radiating out energy precisely 340 watts/m2 into space to keep the surface cool.
There are many greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, the two most abundant are water vapour and
carbon dioxide. Visible light (short wave radiation) passes through the green house gases to reach
the Earth s surface, The Earth surface absorbs short wave radiation, the radiation is then released
by the surface in the form of infrared radiation. Only 10% of the infrared radiation released passes
through the gases and the atmosphere and escapes. The rest of the infrared radiation is trapped by
the greenhouse gases and clouds.
What really causes the greenhouse effect? The remaining infrared radiation is trapped by the green
house gases. The greenhouse gases in turn reradiates the infrared radiation in all direction. Some of
the radiation go into the outer space and some go back to the Earth surface. The continuous cycle
of exchange of infrared radiation between the Earth s surface and the greenhouse gases is called the
greenhouse effect.
The presence of an atmosphere containing greenhouse gases keeps the Earth surface warm, without

Anne Frank And The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas

accurate, and true to the directors intention.

The voice of documentary is quite a vital part to convincing an audience that what they are

what is being said as there is a durable ground in the way in which he communicates it. John Corner
states that,
Unless it is explicitly indicated otherwise in the film or programme, audiences will hold to a firm

The dramatic articulation through the use of commentary adds an element of efficiency to the film,
making it appear more impressionistic and informational, as well as trustworthy to the director s
objective. The documentary itself is predominantly based on raw footage of actuality taken from
different times during 1941 (IMDb). The effect of using this kind of footage suggests that the

Similarities Of Mice And Rats
Rats and mice habitat and life cycles Rodents can be found everywhere on earth. Among the
several different types of rodents, the ones that mostly prefer to live near humans, being the
most numerous, are the mice and rats. They live in colonies which comprise of complex
hierarchies, wherein they form deep bonds, often putting their own lives at risk to save family
and friends. Their best habitats are cavities, holes inside walls, in sewer pipes, in stores where
foodstuffs are kept, in the fields and in garbage dumps. As a matter of fact, they love to live

They reproduce rapidly, as generally it is the case with small prey animals. No matter how well
they are cared for, they possess somewhat short life span. Generally they have short gestational

The Statewide Legalization Of Marijuana
Ryan James Michael Monteith
Period 7
March 11, 2015
Step Seven Original Draft The statewide legalization of marijuana is a slap in the face to the
federal government of the USA. What Colorado has done will cause many difficulties for the
bureau and for the agents of the FBI. More than likely, California is closely following suit of
Colorado as well as many other states in the union. Per state, it may be legal, but as for federal
law, it is still illegal by many means. The legalization of marijuana will cause many problems. The
drug is not only harmful to the body, but leads to the use of other narcotics. According to a recent
study at Yale University showed that alcohol ... and marijuana were associated with an... Show

Prior to the illegalization of alcohol in the 1920 s people loved to drink. It was a big part of the life
style this caused many women to start a prohibition movement that would ban the sale,
movement, buying, and distributing of alcohol. This movement covered all ways of getting
new alcohol but it did not make consuming the product illegal. This was a form of grandfathering
the already bought alcohol or else the US would have had to pay each individual for the alcohol
they had to turn in. Following the start of the prohibition in 1920, people started having what
are known as Speakeasy s . A speakeasy was a type of club that had illegal alcohol and live music
and parties all the time. The name speakeasy was more than just a name. It was a rule. The rule
itself separated the words to a command to Speak Easy! about the time and place and what they
were doing at that specific location. It kept most of these illegal events to stay secret but not all
of them. This era in American history is a fad with pop culture. The book/movie The Great
Gatsby and the Broadway Production of Thoroughly Modern Milly all take place in this era and
tell tales of adventurous parties and mixed with running from police to just go and do it again the
next day. The Legalize it movement also had a history like this. Out of a group of ten in Colorado,

I have since heard the book and its message described as fascistic, provocative, irresponsible,
unpalatable. This it may well be. Yet I found reading his book to be an amazingly sobering and
dispiriting affair. One can really drink up the spirit of a man in reading his prose, and I fear
Heinlein to be not someone with whom I want to share a beer or be friends. I read later that he was
a career military officer who developed tuberculosis and was invalided out of the fleet to a literary
career. There hangs about this book a severe and cynical air of wounded world weariness, as if life
is a dreary and dangerous affair requiring toughness and discipline to survive. He nearly models

I would argue they are at least as important to a society worth living in. Who among us in the
dark of a long night has not contemplated suicide? Who will make the argument in Heinlein s
world not to do so? In my opinion, Heinlein s world is one in which I daresay not many people
would like to live where suicide might even be understandable! Our world for all its barbarity,
decadence, hatred, chaos is also one with art, love, and, most importantly, hope. We might live in a

Fracking Technology On Extraction Of Shale Gas And Oil Essay
Fracking technology. What are the environmental and health issues related to fracking technology
on extraction of shale gas and oil?
Unconventional gas and oil extraction process known as hydraulic fracturing, hydrofracking or
fracking is a technique used to extract shale gas and oil, on which high pressure fluid is injected,
mainly water, containing sand, chemicals or other granular materials which are pumped with a
fluid medium under pressure into rock, so that fractures formed in this process are held open when
the pressure is released, allowing oil or gas to flow more freely suspended, with the aid of
thickening agents.
Once that unconventional gas and oil extraction (fracking) has becoming widespread practice and a
concern in some countries, particularly in the United States of America (USA), relatively about
potential environmental risks and human health outcome, as well as potential routes of human
vulnerability, has been the focus of several studies by social researchers, health and environmental
scientists, and epidemiologists. This essay will present and analyse the challenges imposed by
hydraulic fracturing to extract oil and shale gas, particularly related with environmental and health
issues.
Hydrofracking began in 1947 as an application in the USA and was followed in 1950 by the first
commercially successful application. Although, only recently (in 2007 the method was first used

According to Engelberg (1986), Chin showed little to no remorse for his actions. In the interview
he read from a list of points in Chinese characters, he said that prison was a small price to pay in
exchange for improving the lives of one billion Chinese. He believed his native country greatly
benefited from closer relations with the United States. Chin s only motivation for committing

innovation came out with bulk of relevant advanced technologies, and gradually absorbed
considerable customers and occupied a big market. That what Google earth did and had already put
a great threat to existing GIS. The new virtual globe has leaded the GIS industry into a new ear and
changes the situation of GIS from professional use to mass entertainment. 4. Should ESRI explicitly
target the new GIS customer (mainstream, nonprofessional, low end)? If so, what organizational
changes might this require? a) Personally, I think due to the great market potential, ESRI should
target this group of internet users as further customer. The internet users among the world increase
sharply as the rapid popularity of PC and internet, thus, the great potential of the mass market can
not been ignored, otherwise, the market share of professional software will be reduced as the
development of competitors. b) Organization Changes. The company s value network, business
model and particularly the organization structure need to change to adapt to the new market. ESRI

Ligaments are bands of strong flexible connective tissue that connect two bones. They are made up
of collagen, the primary structural protein in connective tissue. Collagen fibers run longitudinally
and provide ligaments with high tensile strength.5 These fibers are made up of cells called
fibroblasts whose function is to synthesize collagen.7 The main functions of ligaments as a whole
are to provide joint stability and allow for joint motion, as well as send proprioceptive information
to the brain.5,6 When the ligament undergoes too much stress, the collagen fibres are damaged
and the ligament is stretched or torn. When this happens, nociceptors respond to the damage
sustained and send signals to the brain, swelling occurs as a result of the bleeding of damaged
blood vessels in the tissue and the fluid of damaged fibroblasts, and proprioception and tensile
strength are reduced.5 Ankle sprains are classified into three grades of severity depending on
how much damage the ligament suffered and the degree of the aforementioned effects. A grade 1
sprain refers to mild stretching of the ligament. There is mild swelling, minimal pain, and no joint
instability.6 A grade 2 sprain is the partial tearing of the ligament. There is moderate pain and
swelling, and mild to moderate joint instability.6 Walking with a grade 2 sprain is possible but
painful. A grade 3 sprain involves a complete tearing of the ligament. There is severe pain,
swelling, and bruising. This type of sprain includes significant joint instability and walking is not

the learning segment, I will look at students prior work on comparing and contrasting to see where
each student is at in regards to their level of understanding. I found that while some students had a
good understanding of the strategy, there were still many students that could use a thorough

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Soybean
Soybean is an important crop, with food, nutritional, industrial, and pharmaceutical uses. Soybean
seeds contain about 40% protein and about 20% oil. They are also abundant in physiologically

proteins and are used as an affordable source of foods that promote and maintain health (Sugano

ADVANTAGES OF SOYBEAS TRANSFORMATION
пѓ Insect and nematode resistance
Insecticidal crystal proteins (cry proteins or Оґ endotoxins) are an active component of Bacillus
thuringiensis(Bt) toxin, a biological insecticide (Tabashnik 1994). Expression of the Bt cry gene in
soybean has proven highly effective for controlling insect pests , and the resistance to lepidopteran

Soybean mosaic virus (SMV) is endemic in virtually all regions where soybeans are grown in the
presence of vector insects. SMV can cause serious yield losses (Ross 1969), so virus resistance is
an essential trait for introduction

that if he didn t bring them food then their god would consume the moon. The captain of the ship

impossible for a human to be completely random. One line that stood out to me in this episode was
when Mr. Du Sautoy said life is random, it s chaos . This means that while life may seem

that this was a very interesting and thought provoking phrase. The next thing Mr. Du Sautoy talked

Data Analysis Method
Throughout our observation week we were able to collect vast amount of data both from
observations and interviews. In order to let our data speak to us and help us to understand how
the collaborative work is conducted between ITB and Royal Danish Library we have adopted
grounded theory method as a main data analysis practice to work with. This decision involved
summarizing cons and pros of using this approach. According to Glaser, Barney G Strauss (1967),
using grounded theoryinvolves development of theory rather by logical deduction then from
experimental data itself. The publication of The Discovery of Grounded theory finds it relevant
in practical applications and enable prediction and explanation of behavior. As our field setting
is not often overflown with different actors we have decided to unlock behavioral patterns and
get insight also on the profiles of employees. By this approach we have enriched our data, by
being able to see connection between artifacts and articulation work, that draws an implication of
artifacts in collaborative work. Moreover we have observed that each artifact might have
different purpose of use as it is observed by different point of views from different subjects. The
fact that we were able to actually observe appropriation in collaborative work, which can be
described such as an assimilation of technology by group of people in completely different manner
as designer firstly intended to, made us to logically distinguish between different

verbal communication. Once I came into the class and we did some activities, I was shocked with
some of my reactions.
Before I took the American Deaf Culture Quiz , I skimmed it and tried to see if there were any
questions that I knew the answers to. Overall, I didn t do quite so bad, I only missed a handful
of questions, which I m surprised in a good way because I don t really know anything about the
deaf culture. Originally going through the quiz, I answered each question with my best guess and
when we went over the quiz, I was shocked with some of the answers to the questions, more so
some of the questions I had gotten wrong. I was most surprised with the statistics of how many
members of the deaf community marry each other. I was also surprised at the fact that it is okay to
walk through two deaf people conversing with each other instead of finding another path. I thought
that was also interesting. I learned a lot from the quiz in the few minutes I took it and the little bit
of time the class took to

Country Music Comparison Research Paper
With the main focus of my first music comparison essay being on the country signer Taylor Swift
and the rap artist Eminem, id like to try to compare the two different genres of music instead of
comparing and contrasting two other artists. I will attempt this by explaining the similarities and
differences of the music genre Rap, and the music genre Country by examining the elements of
music for each genre. Along with the elements of music, ill also examine why country musichas a
fan base that is much older while most of the Rap listeners are todays youth. To start off, Rap
music has always had the views of being a very rebellious type of music that doesn t always
portray the best image. In many of today s songs, rappers rap about guns, violence, and drugs,
which turns a lot of people away. However, it also has a way of attracting fans and in some
instances the more vulgar and violent a rapper is, the more poplar they are. Aside from the meaning

Many country music songs are about family and the small things in life that are most important
such as love and friendship. Unlike Rap music, country music is more calming and is something
that the whole family can listen to without having to worry about explicit words or vulgar stories
being portrayed through the lyrics. Another thing that country music artist do a great job at is
creating their songs so that they are very easy to relate to and that its not all about the money or
cars. I believe that country music also focuses more on the harmony aspect for the elements of
music, which gives it a more peaceful feel to the songs and something that you can listen to in the
car on your way home from work. However, I also believe that Country music does a wonderful
job on telling stories through their songs just like rap music does and the only difference between
the two is what the stories are

Community Health Center for the Uninsured and Undocumented...
Although the number of illegal immigrants is substantially growing on a daily basis, the national
health care policies seem to fail in addressing their medical needs. This, however, is becoming a
growing challenge because of the conflicts between medical ethics and immigration laws. Despite
the alluded hope for this patients group within the immigration reform, the Patient Protection and
Affordable Care Act (PPACA) fails to alleviate the burden of their unmet health care needs.
Advocates of their rights for health coverage argue that medical ethics and the United States moral
obligations necessitate expanding coverage to all population residing within the borders of the
country. Conversely, opponents deny their health coverage because their illegal status disqualify
them from all public benefits. This paper goes beyond these opposing assumptions and instead,
proposes a strategic plan to raise and combine resources necessary to establish a health care center
for the uninsured, underinsured, and illegal immigrants in Northern California. The paper covers
the establishment of this center with special focus on strategic funding, funding constraints, related
state and national regulations, health policy, resources allocation, and managerial and leadership.
Funding Like any business idea, the first step to establish a community health center is to figure out
all necessary funds and funding resources for the anticipated expenses. In general, according to

The Bourne Identity Essay
The Bourne Identity
In this essay, I compared the book, The Bourne Identity by Robert Ludlum and the film of the
same name, directed by Doug Liman. The main character Jason Bourne was played by Matt
Damon and Marie St. Jacques is played by Franka Potente. The book and movie were extremely
different from each other. The book had more detail of the overall story, easier to comprehend
and had character build up. While the movie seemed to only be interested in the action. I thought
the book to be more fulfilling in its story and the movie to be predictable and tedious
(considering I fell asleep). It didn t take long to notice they were completely different. I wasn t
prepared for the movie to be so off from the book ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Washburn studied and made Jason Bourne wait until he thought he was fit to go out into the
world, for instance he made him go on a fishing trip with the hardest fishing crew around to
prove his was ready. As always, Jason Bourne proved he was ready for anything. Geoffrey
Washburn was never seen or mentioned in the movie which like I said was a great
disappointment, because that was the upbringing of Jason Bourne. He is partly responsible to
creating the new Jason Bourne. He is also the a great help to Jason Bourne while he tries to find
out who he was, and what he was. Another thing that is in the book, is the character Marie St.
Jacques who was first Bourne s hostage. Who was in Swedish women working for the Canadian
government. In the book she was very intelligent and sharp. She was able to escape from Bourne
and then was caught by the cops. She was used by the cops to find Jason and once they found
him, they tried to kill her. Though to her surprise Bourne had been following her and saved her.
She then felt like she had to be by his side and help him find his identity and then quickly fell in
love with him. None of what I said above happened in the film. In the film She was bribed into
helping Bourne and was just a petty girl that needed cash to stay in Sweden. She liked Jason Bourne

Barrio Boy by Ernesto Galarza and A Place to Stand by...
Barrio Boy by Ernesto Galarza and A Place to Stand by Jimmy Santiago Baca are inspired to write
an autobiography. Both of these writers defend, reclaim, identify and interpret the meanings of
indigenous cultures, and memory. Galarza and Baca grew up in different environments and had
different motivations to get their life down on paper for readers to know their life story.
Ernesto Galarza was born in Mexico. He decides he wants to tell the story of his journey from a
small village in Mexico, to a barrio, a neighborhood, in Sacramento, California. He focuses his story
when he was a few years in JalcocotГЎn and what he did every day, to the decisions his family had
to make, and finishing his story with high school. Jimmy Santiago Baca was ... Show more content

A piece that I found difficult to understand was The Erosion of Classic Norms by Renato Rosaldo.
In the article Rosaldo, discusses how the traditional culture is recognizable from its classic patterns
and how it becomes common among anthropologists in the 1900s (Valle, Prospero in the 20th
Century ). Culture lends significance to human experience by selecting from and organizing it
(Rosaldo: 26). From this quote I am able to further understand how people define the term culture.
We all grow up with one or multiple cultures, but we all form them into something different. In
Rosaldo s article, he has a sectioned called Cultural Patterns and Cultural Borderlands, where he
uses dogs as an example to demonstrate how dogs are seen differently in cultures. Because the
range of human possibilities is so great, one cannot predict cultural patterns from one case to the
next, except to say that they will not match (Rosaldo: 26). Here Rosaldo is referring to two
completely different cultures, Anglo Americans and the Ilongots, but the truth is that everyone has
a different culture that will not match completely as it is seen with Barrio Boy by Ernesto Galarza
and A Place to Stand by Jimmy Santiago Baca.
In Galarza s autobiography there are many instances, especially toward the beginning of his writing,
where he writes about the culture and

Early Marriage Of Girls Negatively Affects Health...
Early marriage:
Early marriage of girls negatively affects health wellbeing among young women. In Sub Saharan
Africa, spiritual appeasement is among key reasons attributed to early marriage. In fact, girls
/young women are usually sacrificed to the ancestral spirit world (Sithole, 2007). (40) Mbiti
(1999) and Bediako (1997) explain that in African faith practice, females are generally viewed as
having a higher connectivity to the spirit world than males. For this reason, female children are the
preferred spiritual sacrifices because of their biological ability to reproduce children that will
promote generational continuity to the ancestral spirits. This notion may explain why a girl child,
and not a boy, is traditionally the choice for appeasing the spirits. Whether the motive to encourage
early marriage is cultural or spiritual or anywhere in between, it remains a fact that the practice
contributes to reduced health status for women as their bodies are oftren not physiologically ready
for childbearing leading to complications at child birth. A report on child and early marriage
showed that 38% of young women were married before reaching the age of 18, which make them
more likely to stop their education, become more vulnerable to physical and sexual abuse, to death
during pregnancy and delivery, to delivering unhealthy children, and would most certainly remain
caged in poverty. (41) All this chaos is protected in Sudan by the Personal Status Muslim Act of

Their land was either colonized for trade, profit, and religious freedom. The colonization of their land came with diligent work due to the fact that when colonizing most did not succeed on their first try. There are struggles with opposing colonies trying to fight over land that both places want for themselves. The best part about this is the land they receive can be used for valued goods. The Spanish colonization all began with Columbus in 1492 and advancing for nearly 350 years. Spain conquered and settled most of South America and the Caribbean. Accordingly, it all started when Columbus had been searching for a new route to the Indies. Columbus was sure that he had found it, so he continued his voyages. Settlements by the Spanish that were found earlier were on the islands of the Caribbean. On Columbus s fourth and final voyage in he found a large canoe off the coast of what is now Honduras filled with trade goods. He boarded the canoe and rifled through the cargo which included cacao beans, copper, flint axes, copper bells, pottery, and colorful cotton garments. He took one prisoner and what he wanted from the cargo and let the canoe continue. This was the first contact that the Spanish had with the civilizations of Central America, and this would further influence the Spanish. Another thing that erupted was The Treaty of Tordesillas, which was an attempt ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Examples Of If I Were The Ussr Essay If I were the USSR, I would respond to the rebuilding of Germany, the Berlin Airlift, Nato, and the National Security Act by not trying to go hand and hand with the United States in terms of alliances and in developing military weapons. You could make the case that by the creation of NATO and the CIA, it was the start of the decline of the USSR. The USSR should never have put up a blockade against the Germans because it would later cause the Berlin Airlift which supplied Germany with supplies by the United Statesand British planes going into West Berlin. • 6. Rhetorical Analysis Of Virginia Woolf Rhetorical Analysis Essay Woolf Alanna Kellam 1B In her memoir, Virginia Woolf discusses a valuable lesson learned during her childhood fishing trips in Cornwall, England. To convey the significance of past moments, Woolf incorporates detailed figurative language and a variety of syntax into her writing. Woolf communicates an appreciative tone of the past to the audience, emphasizing its lasting impact on her life. Woolf organizes her writing using various forms of syntax which contributes to the significance of the memory. The author s portrayal of the setting is recounted with long, detailed sentences in order to illustrate its importance. The excitement of fishing is depicted as Woolf retells Sometimes the lines would be handed to us; baited by gobbets cut from fish; and the line thrilled in one s fingers as the boat tossed and shot through the water (12 15). The author includes multiple semicolons not only to extend the sentence, but to also present similar ideas in a like structure. Notably, the author conveys tactile imagery to support the lengthy sentences with compelling details. The tossing of the boat and the touch of the fishing line embodies the exciting chaos the author had felt in the past. As a result, readers are then able to understand the specific attributes of Woolf s memory that made the experience significant. Additionally, Woolf further develops the impact of her excitement as she describes ...and then how can I convey the excitement? there was a little leaping tug... (15 17). Again, lengthy sentence structure helps to connect the images of her memory. The dashes communicate to readers a sense of the author s internal thoughts, as if she was writing all that was on her mind. The dashes outline changes in the flow of the language, so that readers can note clearly defined shifts. They also symbolize the vividness of her memories, therefore the significance of the events in her situation. Unique from the majority of the sentences, Woolf includes declarative structure as she states It was a perfect lesson (25). The line stands out to the readers, amongst the other sentences, because of its length, which is intended to convey an idea directly. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It will always be something that is beyond human control, whether it be the forces that work around people such as weather or animals, or the innate and uncontrollable characteristics within one s personality. Attired all in white, Madame Ratignolle embodies the very spirit of the mother woman. However, on this white beach, where women in white brood over all, . . .Edna was not a mother woman. Ch. IV, pg 385. Rather than dig her toes into the colorless sands, Edna prefers meandering walks, perhaps on the shoreline itself. The imagery of Edna walking along as the waters lap at her feet is profound. Edna is thus far trapped on the ground, not yet knowing how to swim, but wanting desperately to swim into the boundless water. Therefore, she must be content with life on land, experiencing only a portion of the fluid as it swirls around her ankles. • 12. How Did Machiavelli s Political Views Influence American... In The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli, Machiavelli writes about 16th century principalities and how its princes should act. However, while these ideals may seem dated, Machiavelli s description holds many similarities and differences to American politics today. Machiavelli s views on republics serve as the first difference between his political views and the American government. Machiavelli generally puts those in a republic in a negative light by claiming that the subjects of a republic are not used to standing up for themselves and cannot agree to give themselves a leader. Therefore, it is not a sturdy government to capture. Instead of finding the idea of no singular person being a leader a good way to ensure statewide cooperation and content, Machiavelli claims that, In republics there is more vitality, greater hatred, and more desire for vengeance, (Machiavelli, Chapter V). Which is a far cry to the American government s oath to all of its freedoms and liberties. Machiavelli moves on to say that the safest way to capture a republic state is to destroy it altogether. This shows his views on republics are very much negative and that he believes they are almost a nuisance to a prince trying to maintain a state. Of course this is a drastic difference to the American government, where its subjects thrive in a republic. • 13. The Five most Important Events in U.S History Five Most Important Events in U.S. History To me, the most important events that left their mark on America were; Osama Bin Laden s death, the American Revolution, September 11, 2001, Apollo 11, and Lincoln s assassination. I am going to be arguing the reason why I believe all of these events to be the most significant, and important in the United States. Osama Bin Laden Hitler and Laden were good friends throughout all of these attacks and damage caused. Laden had plenty of supporters, but still nobody could take all of his serious, awful acts, seriously. People say and have said that because of his death, we are now free at last. Bin Laden was such a terrible person because of all of the attacks, deaths, and damage he caused. Laden would go out of his way to get at the Americans by hijacking planes, destroying major land marks, and killing lots of people. Americans now feel safe because of his death. The American Revolution The establishment of America was because of this event. George Washington was the leader of the continental army. During this the Americans faced very hard obstacles. A majority of Americans had opposed to war in the early 1775 year. Only about a third of Americans supported this war. This meant independence. U. S. History all started with this. • 14. The Face Of Battle By John Keegan John Keegan describes his book, The Face of Battle, as a personal attempt to catch a glimpse of the face of battle. This personal aspect that Keegan mentions is essential to his book and is excellently articulated, driving home his point. Keegan, who taught at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst for over 25 years, begins by acknowledging his uneasiness with the fact that even though he taught British cadets militaryhistory, I have not been in a battle; not near one, nor heard one from afar, nor seen the aftermath . . . And I grow increasingly convinced that I have very little idea of what a battle can be like. Keegan is clear to state his proposition that almost all military history has functioned simply as a battle piece description in which one can see all the larger moving aspects followed by the outcome. However, this sort of recounting fails to acknowledge the personal side of war, the experience of battle. What really ensues when a cavalry unit meets an infantry unit? What are the vital features in determining whether soldiers stand and fight or turn and run? Having proposed that military history has been failing in its duty, Keegan then continues to demonstrate how it should be done. The battles of Agincourt, Waterloo, and the Somme are the main interests of the book; these battles took place centuries apart and all involved British armies. He examines, in detail, which aspects of war changed or remain constant between the three battles. Keegan brilliantly and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The global surface temperature averaged over daily and seasonal series, remains constant. Earth surface receives 340 watts/m2 of radiant energy, if the global surface temperature averaged daily remains constant, therefore Earth s surface must be radiating out energy precisely 340 watts/m2 into space to keep the surface cool. There are many greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, the two most abundant are water vapour and carbon dioxide. Visible light (short wave radiation) passes through the green house gases to reach the Earth s surface, The Earth surface absorbs short wave radiation, the radiation is then released by the surface in the form of infrared radiation. Only 10% of the infrared radiation released passes through the gases and the atmosphere and escapes. The rest of the infrared radiation is trapped by the greenhouse gases and clouds. What really causes the greenhouse effect? The remaining infrared radiation is trapped by the green house gases. The greenhouse gases in turn reradiates the infrared radiation in all direction. The name speakeasy was more than just a name. It was a rule. The rule itself separated the words to a command to Speak Easy! about the time and place and what they were doing at that specific location. It kept most of these illegal events to stay secret but not all of them. This era in American history is a fad with pop culture. The book/movie The Great Gatsby and the Broadway Production of Thoroughly Modern Milly all take place in this era and tell tales of adventurous parties and mixed with running from police to just go and do it again the next day. • 21. Starship Troopers I have since heard the book and its message described as fascistic, provocative, irresponsible, unpalatable. This it may well be. Yet I found reading his book to be an amazingly sobering and dispiriting affair. One can really drink up the spirit of a man in reading his prose, and I fear Heinlein to be not someone with whom I want to share a beer or be friends. I read later that he was a career military officer who developed tuberculosis and was invalided out of the fleet to a literary career. The struggle to find meaning in a life worth living? I would argue they are at least as important to a society worth living in. Who among us in the dark of a long night has not contemplated suicide? Who will make the argument in Heinlein s world not to do so? In my opinion, Heinlein s world is one in which I daresay not many people would like to live where suicide might even be understandable! Our world for all its barbarity, decadence, hatred, chaos is also one with art, love, and, most importantly, hope. We might live in a hard cold world where life sucks and then you die, as one hears cynically stated in the streets. But that is not all that it is! Not by a long shot! And I would argue that point until I am blue in the face! Of all the evils disease, cruelty, poverty, death which Zeus placed in Pandora s box, he did place one good thing lastly without which life is unbearable: hope. I dare to hope my descendents will not be hopping around hostile planets in powered suits dropping thermonuclear weapons onto alien creatures; that homo sapiens will be as cruel and violent a species in the future as they are presently is a concept almost enough to kill hope. What are the environmental and health issues related to fracking technology on extraction of shale gas and oil? Unconventional gas and oil extraction process known as hydraulic fracturing, hydrofracking or fracking is a technique used to extract shale gas and oil, on which high pressure fluid is injected, mainly water, containing sand, chemicals or other granular materials which are pumped with a fluid medium under pressure into rock, so that fractures formed in this process are held open when the pressure is released, allowing oil or gas to flow more freely suspended, with the aid of thickening agents. Once that unconventional gas and oil extraction (fracking) has becoming widespread practice and a concern in some countries, particularly in the United States of America (USA), relatively about potential environmental risks and human health outcome, as well as potential routes of human vulnerability, has been the focus of several studies by social researchers, health and environmental scientists, and epidemiologists. This essay will present and analyse the challenges imposed by hydraulic fracturing to extract oil and shale gas, particularly related with environmental and health issues. Hydrofracking began in 1947 as an application in the USA and was followed in 1950 by the first commercially successful application. Ligaments are bands of strong flexible connective tissue that connect two bones. They are made up of collagen, the primary structural protein in connective tissue. Collagen fibers run longitudinally and provide ligaments with high tensile strength.5 These fibers are made up of cells called fibroblasts whose function is to synthesize collagen.7 The main functions of ligaments as a whole are to provide joint stability and allow for joint motion, as well as send proprioceptive information to the brain.5,6 When the ligament undergoes too much stress, the collagen fibres are damaged and the ligament is stretched or torn. When this happens, nociceptors respond to the damage sustained and send signals to the brain, swelling occurs as a result of the bleeding of damaged blood vessels in the tissue and the fluid of damaged fibroblasts, and proprioception and tensile strength are reduced.5 Ankle sprains are classified into three grades of severity depending on how much damage the ligament suffered and the degree of the aforementioned effects. A grade 1 sprain refers to mild stretching of the ligament. There is mild swelling, minimal pain, and no joint instability.6 A grade 2 sprain is the partial tearing of the ligament. There is moderate pain and swelling, and mild to moderate joint instability.6 Walking with a grade 2 sprain is possible but painful. A grade 3 sprain involves a complete tearing of the ligament. Although the number of illegal immigrants is substantially growing on a daily basis, the national health care policies seem to fail in addressing their medical needs. This, however, is becoming a growing challenge because of the conflicts between medical ethics and immigration laws. Despite the alluded hope for this patients group within the immigration reform, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) fails to alleviate the burden of their unmet health care needs. Advocates of their rights for health coverage argue that medical ethics and the United States moral obligations necessitate expanding coverage to all population residing within the borders of the country. Conversely, opponents deny their health coverage because their illegal status disqualify them from all public benefits. This paper goes beyond these opposing assumptions and instead, proposes a strategic plan to raise and combine resources necessary to establish a health care center for the uninsured, underinsured, and illegal immigrants in Northern California. The paper covers the establishment of this center with special focus on strategic funding, funding constraints, related state and national regulations, health policy, resources allocation, and managerial and leadership. Funding Like any business idea, the first step to establish a community health center is to figure out all necessary funds and funding resources for the anticipated expenses. • 42. The Bourne Identity Essay The Bourne Identity In this essay, I compared the book, The Bourne Identity by Robert Ludlum and the film of the same name, directed by Doug Liman. The main character Jason Bourne was played by Matt Damon and Marie St. Jacques is played by Franka Potente. The book and movie were extremely different from each other. The book had more detail of the overall story, easier to comprehend and had character build up. While the movie seemed to only be interested in the action. I thought the book to be more fulfilling in its story and the movie to be predictable and tedious (considering I fell asleep). It didn t take long to notice they were completely different. I wasn t prepared for the movie to be so off from the book ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Washburn studied and made Jason Bourne wait until he thought he was fit to go out into the world, for instance he made him go on a fishing trip with the hardest fishing crew around to prove his was ready. As always, Jason Bourne proved he was ready for anything. Geoffrey Washburn was never seen or mentioned in the movie which like I said was a great disappointment, because that was the upbringing of Jason Bourne. He is partly responsible to creating the new Jason Bourne. He is also the a great help to Jason Bourne while he tries to find out who he was, and what he was. Another thing that is in the book, is the character Marie St. Jacques who was first Bourne s hostage. Who was in Swedish women working for the Canadian government. In the book she was very intelligent and sharp. She was able to escape from Bourne and then was caught by the cops. She was used by the cops to find Jason and once they found him, they tried to kill her. Though to her surprise Bourne had been following her and saved her. She then felt like she had to be by his side and help him find his identity and then quickly fell in love with him. None of what I said above happened in the film. In the film She was bribed into helping Bourne and was just a petty girl that needed cash to stay in Sweden. She liked Jason Bourne throughout the film from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Barrio Boy by Ernesto Galarza and A Place to Stand by... Barrio Boy by Ernesto Galarza and A Place to Stand by Jimmy Santiago Baca are inspired to write an autobiography. Both of these writers defend, reclaim, identify and interpret the meanings of indigenous cultures, and memory. Galarza and Baca grew up in different environments and had different motivations to get their life down on paper for readers to know their life story. Ernesto Galarza was born in Mexico. He decides he wants to tell the story of his journey from a small village in Mexico, to a barrio, a neighborhood, in Sacramento, California. He focuses his story when he was a few years in JalcocotГЎn and what he did every day, to the decisions his family had to make, and finishing his story with high school. Jimmy Santiago Baca was ... In the article Rosaldo, discusses how the traditional culture is recognizable from its classic patterns and how it becomes common among anthropologists in the 1900s (Valle, Prospero in the 20th Century ). Culture lends significance to human experience by selecting from and organizing it (Rosaldo: 26). From this quote I am able to further understand how people define the term culture. We all grow up with one or multiple cultures, but we all form them into something different. In Rosaldo s article, he has a sectioned called Cultural Patterns and Cultural Borderlands, where he uses dogs as an example to demonstrate how dogs are seen differently in cultures. Because the range of human possibilities is so great, one cannot predict cultural patterns from one case to the next, except to say that they will not match (Rosaldo: 26). Here Rosaldo is referring to two completely different cultures, Anglo Americans and the Ilongots, but the truth is that everyone has a different culture that will not match completely as it is seen with Barrio Boy by Ernesto Galarza and A Place to Stand by Jimmy Santiago Baca. In Galarza s autobiography there are many instances, especially toward the beginning of his writing, where he writes about the culture and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Early Marriage Of Girls Negatively Affects Health... Early marriage: Early marriage of girls negatively affects health wellbeing among young women. In Sub Saharan Africa, spiritual appeasement is among key reasons attributed to early marriage. In fact, girls /young women are usually sacrificed to the ancestral spirit world (Sithole, 2007). (40) Mbiti (1999) and Bediako (1997) explain that in African faith practice, females are generally viewed as having a higher connectivity to the spirit world than males. For this reason, female children are the preferred spiritual sacrifices because of their biological ability to reproduce children that will promote generational continuity to the ancestral spirits. This notion may explain why a girl child, and not a boy, is traditionally the choice for appeasing the spirits. Whether the motive to encourage early marriage is cultural or spiritual or anywhere in between, it remains a fact that the practice contributes to reduced health status for women as their bodies are oftren not physiologically ready for childbearing leading to complications at child birth. A report on child and early marriage showed that 38% of young women were married before reaching the age of 18, which make them more likely to stop their education, become more vulnerable to physical and sexual abuse, to death during pregnancy and delivery, to delivering unhealthy children, and would most certainly remain caged in poverty.
