Research Paper On Hammerhead Shark
If a bull shark and hammerhead shark were to fight, the bull shark would win. Bull sharks are the most
dangerous sharks in the world! Along with this, bull sharks have special adaptations, and they hunt in
shallow waters.
Although hammerhead sharks have great vision, the shape of their heads, and the placement of their
eyes cause them to have a huge blind spot right in the middle of their head. This makes it easier for
other sharks to win a fight against the hammerhead.
According to many experts, bull sharks are the most dangerous sharks in the word. They are an
aggressive species of shark. Bull sharks are one of the top three sharks implicated in fatal attacks
throughout the world! On the other hand, only three species of hammerhead sharks are known to
attack humans. There have been just 17 confirmed unprovoked bites (from hammerhead sharks) on
record worldwide since 1580, and none of them were fatal. That s just one non fatal bite in the world
every 25 years. It is very unlikely that you will get bitten by a hammerhead shark. It is much more
likely that you will get bitten by a bull shark. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

What to Do After Graduation in Major in Success by Patrick...
There is a majority of university students worldwide who have something in common: they have no
idea what they will do after they graduate. Some students may have several ideas came out, but they
never make them come true. There are plenty of people who have difficulty to know what they are
passionate in, and even they can do but most never have the extraordinary drive necessary to go for
their dreams. At this difficult time, there is a book walked to me, Major in Success written by Patrick
Combs, which is a book that is to help people find their true dream job and become successful, and
also it helped me find the true purpose of studying in university. This book pointed out that doing what
you enjoy propels you to success . It means doing what you enjoy is the core to find your dream job. If
one has a job that pays well but he never get happiness from it, and instead of fears, tears and no
cheers. He also brings their fears from work to their lives and families and makes these people who
are outside of his job feel sad and then, that will destroy a big and happy environment. This book tells
people how to make their dreams come true. People who follow their dreams are the meaning of living
in the world and the way to get happiness. And everyone has this ability to achieve this goal; what
they need to do is only to possess extraordinary drive. From the book, the author says repeatedly that
when people get graduated, no one cares about your GPA. Patrick Combs said that

A New Form Of Imperialism
During the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, the United States pursued an aggressive
policy of expansionism, extending its political and economic influence around the globe. Reasons for
this were the strong desire for military strength, the thirst for new markets in order to stimulate the
economy and trade, and the core belief in cultural superiority (QUOTE). During that time United
States became an expansionist nation, so by late nineteenth century America s thrust into Imperialism
had already begun. A new form of imperialism to an extent, the policy still involved extending its
country authority and control over foreign countries as a medium of obtaining and maintaining an
empire. Imperialism usually involves a stronger nation (emerging world power U.S.) extended control
over a weaker nation. But different from the previous European empires of the colonialist time, which
were formal administrative systems founded on social, economic and political control, the American
Empire was in one way or another a voluntary association, established in improving international mass
market. United States imperialism is mainly prevalent in Latin America, which the Spanish American
War of 1898, marks the beginning of. The war marked the emergence of the United States as an
externally focused world power. Post war the United States was left with a commercial and physical
empire and a strong momentum for American nation building activities. This era which marks the new

Web Application Attacks
Now a day, data sharing over web based application has greatly increased which is technically good.
Also application attacks were increased which is very risky as the issue related to confidentiality,
integrity, availability which results in data theft.
According to John Desmond, there are many dangerous application attacks which provides the access
for end user to view system resources and private information s by breaking the network firewalls
(John Desmond, 2004).
In this paper, I would like discuss the few top vulnerabilities to web application as per the recent
survey of Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP). Here the goal is to learn and discuss
some of the top vulnerabilities effect and how to prevent those attack.
Application development is done more and more on the web. We are using web browser for accessing
the application, here it uses Hyper Text Transfer Protocol(HTTP) to communicate with the network.
As application layer is the top layer in OSI it is easily accessible from outside world and which may
sometimes result in data theft or loss.

Online Space And Its Impact On The World Wide Web
Communities in an online space have changed drastically since the rise of web 2.0. Web 2.0 refers to
the current state of the World Wide Web. The previous version Web 1.0 allowed users to only read,
material in a linear format online. With the introduction of web 2.0 it gave anyone the tools to read
and write information online (Oreilly, 2007). It is the reason why social networking sites such as
Facebook, Twitter and Reddit exist. It allows user to communicate on an instant level. Web 2.0
increased the popularity of blogging, forums, i.e. online communities as anyone was able to
participate on them (Oreilly, 2007). Web 2.0 has given people all over the world the tools to create and
take part in communities based around common interests. Platforms such as reddit have taken
advantage of these tools and have given people the ability to invent new forms of communities which
are now a staple part of the online experience.
Reddit is community based platform which was created in 2005 and is one of the largest community
based platforms on the World Wide Web. Around 7% of adults use Reddit with 78% of users saying
they receive their information about the news on Reddit (Michael Barthel, 2016). Reddit functions as a
social news community based networking service, and news website where registered Reddit users
can create/publish material, such as text posts, links, and images making it a community based, online
bulletin board system (Rob Tornoe, 2013). Reddit introduced endless

Informative Essay On Identity Theft
I have a scenario that many people go through every year. You receive a phone call from your credit
company talking about your bill. They tell you that there was a suspicious purchase on your account
that you don t remember making. Most likely, you have become the most recent victim of a large,
dark, and superfluous business known as identity theft. Identity theft takes a substantial amount of
money away from many Americans each year, so what are you supposed to do? What even is identity
theft? How can we protect ourselves? Should we better our security? All these questions have
answers, so let s start listing the solutions. Let s protect our identities for decades to come! Identity
theft causes lots of problems with this illegal business, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What is identity theft? Furthermore, what damage does it cause? Identity theft is the robbery of
another person s important information. Usually, thieves use this information to withdraw money from
your accounts, gain access to important accounts, or to take advantage of other people. Identity thieves
can strike by doing something as simple as looking over your shoulder or as complicated as hacking
into websites that have your information like Facebook or Equifax. Speaking of Equifax, you might ve
heard about how Equifax was hacked recently, giving those hackers tons of personal and financial
information about you and your accounts. Thieves can be anyone that will or has had access to your
credit card in some way, shape, or form. Many people have had their credit card information stolen
from people in retail jobs, of all places, since you can give people your credit card to make purchases.
In 2012 alone, 16.5 million Americans had some form of identity theft occur in their accounts. That s
quite frightening, especially since that means that 5% of the people in the United States were robbed
of their identities that year, and with the technological advancements that are being developed, that
means that number could be growing at an alarming rate! However, there are quite a few ways to
protect yourself. So how can you tell you ve been robbed and what can you do to protect

Marya Mannes How Do You Know It s Good
In a world that has become immune to accepting all types of art, Marya Mannes believes we have lost
our standards and ability to identify something as good or bad . In her essay, How Do You Know It s
Good , she discusses society s tendency to accept everything out of fear of wrongly labelling
something as being good or bad. She touches on various criteria to judge art, such as the artist s
purpose, skill and craftsmanship, originality, timelessness, as well as unity within a piece rather than
chaos. She says that an individual must decide if something is good on the basis of instinct,
experience, and association (Mannes). I believe that by using standards and the process of association,
we will be able to judge what makes an art piece good in comparison to others. However, Mannes
forces me to consider the difference between what may be appealing versus what is actually good, and
when deciding which art we should accept, which is truly more important. I believe that good and bad
are two ends of a large, subjective spectrum of grey area. It is possible for a piece of art to be good in
some areas and bad in others, and if something does not live up to all of our standards, it does not
necessarily mean it should be dismissed. Thus, I believe my personal standards for judging art are
based on which my standards are largely based on the personal reaction evoked from a piece of art.
Though I agree with Mannes standards to an extent, I believe that certain standards, such as evoking a
personal response, can be more telling of if a piece of art is good as opposed to its timelessness, or the
level of experience of an artist in his/her craft. As Mannes stated, the process of association is essential
in determining the quality of art, by comparing it to the other art we have seen. I am able to judge the
multitexts I have read in class by using the process of association to compare them to each other. For
example, we are able to judge the quality of the pieces by comparing and contrasting them to each
other. All three of our multitexts used certain writing models such as analogy poems and dialogue.
Cusion s piece Blame , is an analogy poem that he used to build on his multitext, implicitly telling

The Life of David Brainerd
David Brainerd was born in on April 20, 1718 to Hezekiah Brainerd, Esq, and Dorothy Hobart. He had
four brothers and four sisters. Most of his brothers ended up in the ministry, although those that did
not were respectable upright people. David s father died when he was nine and his mother died five
years later when David was fourteen, so at a very young David was fatherless and motherless.1 David
was always a type of person inclined to be melancholy. He was always a religious person. He made
sure that he did everything right, because he was afraid of death. He performed all the duties of
religion without a true conversion.2 Then, in 1738, David went to live with a man named Rev. Mr.

He would continually say in his diary that he felt the Lord. Then the next day he said that he did not
feel the presence of the Lord. Overall he would say that he longed to grow closer and closer to the
Lord. By November of 1742, Brainerd had become commissioned to be a missionary to the Indians.11
During that time of being a missionary, David, who had an estate left to him by his father, sold his
estate and used that money to fund a young man s college bill. That young man continued to have his
school bill paid for until his benefactor died. He was able to go through college until his junior year of
college.12 Soon David was told by his missionary directors that they would like him to go the the
Indians that lived near the Delaware and Susquehanna Rivers. On December 15, 1742 he said good
bye to his friends lest they never meet on this earth again, which was a possibility due to the danger
and weather of where he was going. On February 2, 1743, David Brainerd preached his farewell
sermon in the home of an elderly man, who had not been able to get out his house for some time, then
David parted with his friends to go be a missionary to Indians.13 Before David actually headed to his
Indians, David talked about his spiritual life in his diary. He talked about enjoying spiritual peace and
comfort, and sorrow of sin. He also was in agony over sin. Then on April 1, he arrived at his Indians,

The Short Story Of Marionettes, Inc. And The Murderer
Ray Bradbury was an American fantasy and horror author who rejected being categorized as a science
fiction author, claiming that his work was based on the fantastical and unreal ( Ray Bradbury
Biography.com). Ray Bradbury was unlike any other writer, he took science fiction and made it a real
genre in literature. The short stories Marionettes, Inc. and
The Murderer are just two of the many pieces he published. Marionettes, Inc. is a short story on two
men, Braling and Smith, who are having problems in their marriages and try to solve them through the
use of robots (technology). This turned out to be an awful idea because
Brailing Two (the robot) takes over Braling s life and locks him up in the basement and Smith finds

Similarly, the short story Marionettes, Inc. states Nettie!, Nettie! He cried. What ve you done with my
money! And then, the horrid thought. And then the terror and loneliness engulfed him. And then the
fever and disillusionment. For, without desiring to do so, he bent forward and yet forward again until
his fevered ear was resting firmly and irrevocably upon her round pink bosom. Nettie! he cried.
Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick (Bradbury 218). Ray Bradbury repeats the
word tick (onomatopoeia) to reveal that Smith s wife is actually a robot. The dictions
terror , loneliness and horrid prove that Smith was surprised and quite terrified to find out that his wife
was in fact a robot. Therefore, Ray Bradbury builds a unique voice in the short stories Marionettes,
Inc. and The Murderer through diction and figurative language.
Furthermore, Ray Bradbury creates a unique voice in the short stories Marionettes, Inc. and The
Murderer through setting. The short story The Murderer states Music moved with him in the white

Reasons For Corruption In Thailand
Who is responsible for the Corruption in Thailand? Thailand is one of the most beautiful places in the
world. It s full of beautiful beaches, cities and wonderful food, however it is also home to a great
amount of corruption. I like to believe that the corruption in Thailand is caused by globalization, the
process where businesses or organizations gain international influence. Therefore this research is
based off of the question how are big corporations responsible for the corruption in Thailand? Big
corporations are responsible for the corruption in Thailand because of bribery and violations of the
Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
What are the working conditions in the factories in Thailand? The working conditions in these
corporation s factories are unacceptable. According to the article titled Former Nike Factory Worker
Shares Story of Abusive Working Conditions written by Hyun Soo Lee. Noi Supalai (a garment
worker in Thailand) ...has faced years of harsh and abusive working conditions as a garment worker in
her home country of Thailand. Not only did they go through harsh working condition but also
according to the same article It had been two months that we did not get paid. This proved that the
working conditions in Thailand were very bad and unfair to the workers. This also proves that
corporations like this are causing the corruption by letting this happen.

Assess The Significance Of Suspense In The Film Jaws
Jaws 2 is a classic American horror film made in 1978, and directed by Jeannot Szwarc. It is about a
police chief s duty to deal with a giant great white shark, yet again. It takes place on a fictional ocean
side resort, but was actually filmed in Marthas Vineyard, Massachusetts and Navarre Beach, Florida.
This message, was most definitely made to entertain. From the deep slow to fast high pitched sounds,
and gargled screams from the great whites victims, this scene and entire movie sends chills down your
spine. It is all about the suspenseful thrill that made the story so successful.
The scene starts out as a bright backlit girl waterskiing to show joy, with a hint of mystery. The
camera flashes back to behind the girl, where a large dorsal fin slides out of the water. As it does high

the main stereotypes in the film is the overgeneralization of the great white shark. This film portrays

Judy And John The New Zealand
Judy and John , the New Zealand
Woman s Weekly s ideal engaged couple, were preparing for married life and building a house in
1954.
Judy was the expert on the kitchen, the laundry, the decorating and the cleaning , and she was not to
worry her head about the garden, the exterior, the lighting or the roof, as these were John s concerns.
Judy intended to work during the first two years of marriage so they can buy extras like the
refrigerator, washing machine, floor polisher, good radiogram and vacuum cleaner, in that order .1
As Judy s expectations and aspirations show, cleaning routines occupied a considerable amount of
women s time in the 1950s and 1960s.
Indeed, new products and applicances, as well as their greater availabilty, encouraged greater attention
than ever to these chores. Consumer demand was insatiable though home scientist Norah Holland
noted that women with young children demanded modern conveniences, while older women
sometimes thought that the purchase of new equipment was unnecessary.2 By 1949, New Zealand
company Fisher Paykel was producing 600 washing machines, 500 refrigerators and 700 vacuum
cleaners each month, and struggled to fill orders.3 Demand was able to be satisfied only when import
controls were relaxed in 1953. For the next five years, the sale of household items boomed. Washing
machines and refrigerators went from being luxuries to items that were purchased at the same time as
the house, with the costs of payment included on

The Consequences Of Patriotism As Moral Justification
Joshua Soifer Ms. Pultz English 9B 12 June 2017 Et Tu, Machiavelli The Consequences of Patriotism
as Moral Justification Civil rights activist Malcolm X once claimed that You re not supposed to be so
blind with patriotism that you can t face reality. Wrong is wrong, no matter who says it . Patriotism
plays a principal role in Shakespeare s Julius Caesar. In Julius Caesar, Shakespeare uses the actions of
Brutus in order to demonstrate the immorality of taking patriotic duty to be an absolute duty. This is
an important principle which allows us to interpret the actions of Brutus, and his influencers,
throughout the play. This idea has been supported and discussed by many philosophers, and is still just
as relevant in the world today. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this noble impulse is what leaves him open to manipulation by his friend Cassius. Cassius
wants Caesar killed, for less noble reasons, and is willing to use deception and manipulation to obtain
his goal. Brutus sense of duty and patriotism provides him with the opportunity to get Brutus to act as
Cassius wishes him to. One example of Cassius manipulation is found when he claims to Brutus that
the noble Romans wished for Brutus to defeat Caesar, and take his power for the good of Rome. He
claims that [He has] heard, / Where many of the best respect in Rome / Except immortal Caesar,
speaking of Brutus / And groaning underneath this age s yoke, / Have wish d that noble Brutus had his
eyes (1.2.58 62). Cassius then begins his greatest deception, through faking letters from the people of
Rome, convincing Brutus that murdering Caesar was best for Rome. Cassius describes how he will ...
in at his windows throw, / As if they came from several citizens, / Writings all tending to the great
opinion / That Rome holds of his name; wherein obscurely / Caesar s ambition should be glanced at
(1.2.315 319). Cassius convinced Brutus, using his view that patriotism was a more important moral
ideal than any other, to murder Caesar due to the falsified views of the people. In this way, Brutus was
swayed by his patriotism in order to commit an immoral deed, that of killing his friend, Caesar. This
decision has

The Power of Rebuilding
Warwood was still in shambles, and normal kingdom life had been suspended until essential repairs
were completed. Since Xavier couldn t physically lift and move things due to his injured hand, his
father had assigned him to one of his most trusted friends, General Loren Hardcastle, who was
organizing telekinetic citizens. Today, their task was to clear out rubble and assist masons and
construction workers in rebuilding the gatehouse, which had been demolished during the initial
onslaught of LeMasters invasion.
Rebuilding of the gatehouse would be a simple task and Xavier was looking forward to doing
something constructive, regardless of how tedious or boring it might become. Although his powers
could be intense at times, he felt confident that he had a secure command over them and could
summon them without difficulty. He didn t like to brag, but there were few kids in the kingdom who
could rival his empowerment level and strength.
However, there was one power that still proved challenging for Xavier: that of impediment. He
struggled to block telepathic advances, especially when faced with a strong, capable telepath. His
confrontation with William LeMasters only punctuated this deficiency. Although he had made gains in
impediment and could, at times, hoodwink Uncle Mike, his father was a different matter altogether.
The king was the most powerful telepathic alive. For this reason, when the new school term began,
Uncle Mike would no longer be teaching him telepathy; his

The disappointing sales performance during the Christmas 1999 season ended up being a priceless
lesson for TiVo s marketing team: it was the catalyst that created the need for a TiVo s new
communications strategy. However, defining this new marketing campaign was challenging,
especially after the feedback received about the product indicated issues like limited awareness and
hard to communicate functionalities. The main focus of this new marketing campaign is to select a
positioning strategy that will speed up the adoption of TiVo among consumers. The marketing team
has three options on how to position TiVo: 1) as an enhanced digital video recorder, 2) as a product

Viewers can pause live television to attend interruptions such as phone calls or unexpected visits. It
gives viewers the freedom to watch whichever program they want, whenever they want. With TiVo s
capacity to store up to 30 hours of recorded television, users reduce the hassle of using videotapes to
record television programs. Users virtually eliminate the possibility of missing their favorite shows,
since they can set up TiVo to record them. With these aforementioned features, TiVo will revolutionize
the way Americans view television.
Price. The current price of $999 for the 30 hour TiVo box is extremely high. It can easily discourage
any early adopter or a TV addict. Hence, the marketing team should reduce the price to $399, even
lower if financially viable. The more attractive the ticket (i.e. TiVo Box) for the ultimate TV
experience, the easier consumers will be lured in. The service fee structure seems at a very reasonable
price, it requires no major price adjustments.
Place. Electronic retail stores, such as Best Buy, Circuit City, and Sears serve as the best channels to
sell the product. It is imperative that the marketing team develops a training program for the sales
force of those retail outlets. Many consumers will have their first TiVo experience in a retail store;
hence, the salespeople must be prepared to demonstrate the benefits of TiVo in a flawless way. The

particular to make statements on the relationships between men and women of that time.
The first story follows the tale of a knight named Guigemar. Despite his noble qualities and popularity,
he never displayed the slightest interest in love (44). This all changes one day when Guigemar goes
hunting. He shoots a stag and mortally wounds it, but the arrow rebounds and pierces his thigh. The
dying stag tells him his wound won t heal until he is cured by a woman who will suffer for [his] love
more pain and anguish than any other woman has ever known, and [he] will suffer likewise for her
(44).
This wound acts as a physical manifestation of the incompleteness of Guigemar s life. He is wounded
with lack of romantic love, and fulfilling that need is the only way for him to become whole again.
The stag also introduces an important aspect of courtly love. Both parties must willingly suffer for
each other. The true virtue of love is a balance of power and equality in the relationship, something
that Marie de France emphasizes throughout the story.
The wounded Guigemar finds an opulently decorated boat and rests there, but the boat carries him
across the sea before he can get off. It takes him to a kingdom where the exceedingly jealous king
guards his wife and puts her in an enclosure

Alcohol And Gamblers Anonymous Meeting
Alcohol and Gamblers Anonymous Meeting As we go through the day we pause, when agitated or
doubtful, and ask for the right thought or action. We constantly remind ourselves we are no longer
running the show, humbly saying to ourselves many times each day Thy will be done. We are then in
much less danger of excitement, fear, anger, worry, self pity, or foolish decisions. We become much
more efficient. We do not tire so easily, for we are not burning up energy foolishly as we did when we
were trying to arrange life to suit ourselves Alcohol Anonymous. Alcohol and gambling are two
addictions that impair an individual judgment, decision making, learning and memory, and behavior
control. Moreover, the focus of this paper will explore the two different types of meetings I attended
and then compare and contrast both. Alcohol Anonymous Meeting I attended the Alcohol Anonymous

residential homes, for a moment I thought I was lost. The meeting started promptly at 5:30pm for an
hour and meets four days a week. The topic of the meeting was HALT which stand for hungry, along,

everyone and passed out literature that was going to be discussed in the group. I notice during the

Volkswagen Group s Star Premium Execution Players
Porsche and Bentley, two of the Volkswagen Group s star premium execution players and now situated
to share propelled innovations, are setting out toward unadulterated electric creation models, each
focusing on 500 km (310 mi) range, tremendous increasing speed ability, and 15 20 min 800 V battery
charging times.
In a noteworthy proclamation, Porsche Chairman Dr. Oliver Blume has affirmed that its Mission E
idea seen at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show will be underway by around 2020, and Bentley Director
Kevin Rose told Automotive Engineering that the two seat Bentley EXP10 Speed 6 idea, which looks
set to wind up a generation reality, might be offered with an unadulterated electric powertrain as an
alternative.
Other Bentley models may likewise be accessible in immaculate electric structure. There are parts of
all electric innovation that are extremely Bentley, including calm running, easy speeding up, and
practically moment high torque conveyance, said Rose. These advantages would be conveyed by
means of all wheel drive as they are on the Mission E.
With the conceivable special case of calm, this is the parallel intuition at Stuttgart Zuffenhausen,
where Porsche has declared a €700 million spend on generation offices that will incorporate
production of electric engines.
With VW s enthusiastic eagerness for innovation cooperative energies where fitting over the Group,

Present Day Climate Change
Many people think that present day climate change is similar to paleoclimate change, but this is only
true when looking at the effects of climate change, the trends in temperature, and the trends in
greenhouse gas levels, which have all stayed the same. By applying the principle of uniformity, we
know that many of the current processes, such as plate tectonics happened in the same way in the past.
In order to use climate proxy records, we have to apply this principle to be able to compare the data
about the current and past environment with equal weight. For example, we assume that the ice cores
reacted the same way to changes in air composition and temperature in the past, such as the mid
Cretaceous, as they do today, so that we can make fair statements of whether or not the air
composition and temperatures have changed or stayed relatively similar. We ... Show more content on

In the mid Cretaceous, coral reefs were found in abundance near 5 to 30 degrees polewards. Today, we
can find them only from 5 to 15 degrees polewards, and there are also very few of them at those
locations. In the past atmospheric aerosols had natural causes such as sulfur and water vapor from
volcanoes, but today most of the aerosols put in the air is smog. Most of this smog is due to humans
burning coal and driving vehicles everyday in such large numbers in multiple places throughout the
world. Additionally, in the mid Cretaceous volcanic activity was the main contributor of atmospheric
CO₂, but today the main CO₂ emitter is the burning of coal, and also fossil fuels. If coral reefs, the
causes of aerosols in our atmosphere, and the causes of atmospheric CO2 have all changed, then we
cannot say that paleoclimate and present day climate change are the

The First Book Of Nephi Summary
Book Review: The First Book of Nephi: His Reign and Ministry Nephi was one of the sons of Lehi.
Lehi received visions from the Lord and began attempting to repent the people of Jerusalem. After his
attempted murder from those angered by his preaching, Lehi listened to God s commands and left
Jerusalem. Shortly afterwards, God commands Lehi to send his four sons back to Jerusalem so that
they may retrieve The Brass Plates held by Jerusalem s powerful leader Laban. The brothers failed
during their first couple attempts to take the Plates from Laban, but once Nephi traveled alone and
prayed to the Lord, he was successful in defeating Laban with his own sword, which had been
commanded by God, and returning the Brass Plates to his father who spend times ... Show more

Not long after Nephi s brothers attempt to kill him, Lehi has a vision of the Tree of Life and takes it as
a sign to continue his teachings about God and to convince his family to keep his commandments.
Nephi prays and receives the same vision along with its interpretations that shows the future for the
sons and their children. Lehi s sons later marry the daughters of Ishmael and discover in which they
use travel the Red Sea to find the Americas. On this journey Nephi proves once more that there is a
God and his commandments should be followed, when his bow breaks but his strong faith and will
strengthened him enough to rebuild another bow and continue to guide his family on their journey.
The brothers are trialed many other times during their journey, but finally Nephi s abusive older
brothers began to exhibit some sort of faith when Nephi commands them not to kill his father nor
touch himself or they would both die. Commanded by God, Nephi then touches his brothers, making
them believers. Once they reached Americas, Nephi was left in charge because of Lehi s death. Nephi

Physical Therapy ( Pt ) And Occupational Therapy
Physical therapy (PT) and occupational therapy (OT) are two careers that help people heal and
rehabilitate. PTs and OTs may seem similar at a glance, but they have just as many differences. The
job descriptions and history vary, but the salary, and requirements are fairly alike. They both take
much skill and expertise, but few people actually understand the difference between the two.
Therapy is the treatment of disease or disability through rehabilitation processes. Both physical and
occupational therapists treat patients who have injuries or disabilities. A physical therapist treats
patients with specifically physical disabilities. They help patients recuperate from pain and injuries,

OTs are much needed encouragers and the quality of their work has developed throughout the years.
Since day one, physical and occupational therapy have steadily progressed and evolved into crucial,
prestigious careers. Physical therapy began around 460 BC. Hippocrates used hydrotherapy, which

programs for massage and physical therapy. The industry grew during WWI because the war produced
many injured soldiers who were in need of therapy. In 1921, the American Women s Physical

Mary McMillan, who became known as the Mother of Physical Therapy. The APTA official website

Analysis Of Martin Luther s The Worricker
What is heroism? Wonder Woman, Batman, and Superman among many others are the people who we
idolize and perceive as heroes from an early age. Perhaps we do this because they have incredible
powers we wish we had as kids and as adults. Or maybe because they often save lives and in extreme
cases, the world. If that is the case, why do we not consider and idolize real people such as Mahatma
Gandhi, Martin Luther King J.R, or Bertrand Russell who through civil disobedience showed true
heroism? They too had incredible powers and saved lives, so why not consider them heroes and
idolize them? Gandhi, King, and Russell showed the world that one doesn t need laser vision to

Benefits Of The Individual Environment And The Team...
The idea to succeed can only go so far, it is the paths chosen that can make the end result a success, or
a failure. We all want to succeed, but as a leader you have to determine what approach to make. Shall I
take on this idea alone, or should I create a group to assist me, whatever it takes to succeed, right?
Some ideas can be accomplished by an individual alone, but usually bigger ideas need a team to see it
through. Working in a team environment can have its drawbacks, but it also has many benefits. In this
paper I am going to provide research to support the setbacks and benefits of both the individual
environment and the team environment. I found that what an individual may lack is a team s gain, vice
versa. The important result is the success achieved by either a team, or an individual. In the
International Journal of Psychology, the authors described a team as being collectivism. In the journal
article Presence of Others and Task Performance in Japan and the United States: A Laboratory
Investigation, the research was not only testing the effects of the different cultures on job productivity
and job quality, but they were also focusing on the effects of working in a group versus working
individually. In their words, they were comparing collectivism and individualism. According to the
journal article collectivism is defined as follows:
...greater emphasis on (a) the views, needs, and goals of the ingroup rather than oneself; (b) social
norms and duty defined by the

The Animal Legal Defense Fund
Animal Abuse Murder and abuse cases never fail to startle society. Moral codes are flouted with
unmatched rigorousness by these indubitable egregious crimes. Sufferers in these cases are often
people. Nonetheless, these callous obscenities should not be seen as less important when animals are
the victims. Animals undergo horrendous abuse due to barbaric individuals, greed, and unnecessary
lab testing. Animals are beaten and abused on a daily basis due to barbaric individuals. Whether it be
from harmful intentions or pure negligence most cases go unreported. Deliberate cruelty may involve
beating, shooting, stabbing animals, or setting them on fire. Neglect is not giving a necessary food,
water, shelter, or vet care (Human Society). The lack of attention and care for these animals can often
lead to severe, and sometimes irrevocable damage. The Animal Legal Defense Fund, ALDF for short,
website tells of one story where neighbors of a farm complained to the local humane society, that the
Colliers were neglecting many animals on their farm, including dogs and horses. When they went to
their property to investigate, they discovered dogs and horses in several states of neglect and
starvation and seized them out of concern for their immediate health (ALDF). Sadly, however, it can
become much worse for animals. Owners will sometimes purposefully abuse their animals.
Unfortunately, occurrences like these are hardly uncommon. One such example, from the RSPCA of
England, the Royal

Persuasive Speech Logos
No matter what discomforts and expenses you had to bear to come here, there will be seven minutes
tomorrow morning that will make you feel it was worth it, said a NASA guide to a group of guests on
the day of the rocket launch. The purpose of each of these articles have large distinctions between
each other. The first article, In Event of Moon Disaster, by William Safire, is meant to comfort the
audience. The second article, The July 16, 1969, Launch: A Symbol of Man s Greatness, by Ayn Rand,
is meant to describe the amount of happiness and pride the nation as a whole felt that day. The purpose
of these articles is also tremendously impacted by how the authors present the subject to the audience.
Because the speaker of the second article, Ayn Rand, was present in this particular occasion there is an
intimate influence on the text from the speaker. Both of these texts appeal to the audience with ethos
considering they are both prevalent people in society. The President has automatic ethos, and the
author also has ethos with her position as a novelist. On top of that both articles appeal to the audience
with logos because it is very logical that the nation would either be upset and mourning the case of a
loss, or the nation would be jubilant and elated with the successful landing on the moon. Lastly, the
articles appeal to pathos in that they trap the american hearts with either sadness or happiness. The
articles hook into the reader s emotion through talking about families mourning and using figurative
language about the image of the launch. Both of these texts are equally effective in completing their
purposes.
Furthermore, the purpose in these two articles are completely variant, but they still have similarities.
The first article, In Event of Moon Disaster, is just the President trying to comfort the American
people and maybe even those who have theoretically died. The President is reaching out and
reassuring his people that America will not give up, and that these two men were not lost in vain.
These two men willingly made a sacrifice which lead to their death, according to this speech, making
this mission unsuccessful. Even though Nixon is not the author of the speech, he adds ethos to the
speech

The Pros And Cons Of Hunting And Hunting
In 2011, there were about sixteen million Americans older than six years old that went hunting. With
all the sixteen million hunters some would argue which weapon is better for killing game. Some
hunters just don t take into consideration the similarities and differences between hunting wild game
with a bow or hunting game with a firearm. According to the seasons to hunt in different states, there
are many animals, hunters can hunt for with both bow and different firearms. Most, wild game that
hunters are able to hunt in Missouri are universal with weapons such as whitetail deer there is a bow

When shooting a bow and firearms there are similarities such as the stance you take like the 90 degree
angle you make with your body (Gross 55). The similarities of these two show that it is a person who

similarities in stance and aiming. Also, the fact that both of these weapons are made to kill most game

Essay On Roe V. Wade
Prior to the landmark case of Roe vs. Wade, abortion was legal in the United States under common
law and with several stipulations. It was legal under the advice of medical personnel or in the attempt
to save a mother s life. Though abortion were widely available it was considered a secretive and back
alley procedure that threatened the life of the patient and the persons conducting the abortion. In 1965,
illegal abortions made up one sixth of all pregnancy and childbirth related deaths. A survey conducted
between 1965 and 1967 found that 8 in 10 low income women in New York City who had an abortion
attempted a dangerous self induced procedure (planedparenthood.com).
Jane Roe (not her real name) was an unmarried woman from Texas. At the time, Texas state law
declared it a felony to conduct an abortion without the direct approval of a medical doctor. The
District Attorney of Dallas at the time was a man named Henry Wade. Roe filed a suit against Mr.
Wade and Texas State law that it was violating her Constitutional rights to choose.
It was the Supreme Court decision to overrule not only Texas s law but all laws that prohibited the
abortion of a fetus after the first trimester of a pregnancy. In a 7 2 decision they declared it was in
violation of the person s right to privacy and the Fourteenth Amendment, among others.

S-D Logic Model Case Study
Table 1: Service dominant logic foundational premises (Koehler, 2011) Malciute (2012) said in her
study citing Brodie et al (2011B) that four of these underlying S D logic premises (numbers 6, 8, 9 and
10) have been found as of particular relevance and builds a solid conceptual foundation in explaining
the conceptual roots of consumer engagement. According to her, together the four premises imply that
value is not something embedded in the product, but the benefit that the consumer gets out of using
the product instead. This suggests that the consumer experiences of the co creative and interactive
nature taking place in complex relational environments may actually be viewed as the act of engaging
. Hence, considering Varey Ballentyne s discussion of the S D logic model and that of Malciute s
(2012) use of the model in her study, it can be said that consumers perceived value of the product can
be derived only if they know the benefit they will get from it. This will only be possible if there is a
point of interaction where communication between the consumers and business organization will be
established and information exchange will occur. This interaction can now spark the engagement
process that will lead to positive behaviors of consumers toward a product or service. ... Show more

Social networking sites in this study is deemed to be the platform where consumers will have an
opportunity to interact with business organizations. Considering the factors considered in this study,
the model can help in determining whether the factors lead to consumer engagement. Conceptual
Framework Considering the theoretical frameworks mentioned above, a conceptual model for
consumer engagement is developed to guide this study as shown in the figure

The Major Components Of Street Sweeper
In my report, I will be discussing some of the major components of street sweeper and will be
explaining the function of each component. Some of the major features of street sweeper are Pick Up
Head As stated in Key Features (n.d.), street sweeper contains a very sharp feature which is a pick up
head which contains two attractive features in it. One is suction system and other is air blast. The main
motive of these systems is that it helps to remove debris from the streets. In addition to that, it has
another interesting feature in it which is skids that improves wear life of pick up head (para.1.). Figure
2. Pick Up Head attached to the street sweeper. Sources: Pick Up Head, n.d. The Pick up head also
contains another device which is knows as BAH that is only preferred during broom assisted sweeping
(para.2.). The broom is very long in size that helps during dust control. It has one positive thing that its
pressure can be adjusted according to our needs that helps to throw dirt from the streets into air.
Hopper Hopper has attractive and good features as compared to the pick up head. It has a smooth
dumping system in it that collects junk from the ground. The main advantage of hopper over pick up
head is that it does not need any telescoping hydraulic cylinders (para.4.) which is used for hoisting,
hydraulically controlled door latch assemblies (para.4.). Figure 3. Opening of Hopper in street

Have You Been Involved In Motor Vehicle Accident
Have you been involved in a motor vehicle accident? If you have, and think you don t need a lawyer,
think again.
In 2014, 32,675 people were killed in motor vehicle crashes on U.S. roadways. An additional 2.3
million people were injured in crashes in 2014. (2014 Crash Data Key Findings (DOT HS 812 219),
(http://www.nhtsa.gov/NCSA). The data in 2015 through the first 9 months shows an increase.
Data collected includes all types of motor vehicle crashes and is not specifically broken down into car
crashes. Obviously, these numbers are frightening, however, most people drive throughout the day
without thinking about it. Like most people, you probably think it ll never happen to you.
The word accident is somewhat misleading

Stink Fish
Street art is commonly seen all over the world, and you can often see this form of art on downtown
building walls. This street painting by Stinkfish, a Colombian street artist, delivers a colorful piece of
art for the public to see. Stinkfish did not give a name to this piece because he selects random spots to
create his masterpieces. The painting is a girl s side profile view of her face and head. The view beside
the face has many colorful shapes and figures that can symbolize many things happening in her head
all the time. There is one simple side of this artwork which is the girl s face. The more vibrant side of
this artwork can be viewed as what is painted beside the face, which is filled with many colors and
different shapes. These colors ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Looking at the top of the face, viewers can see one large eye and a tiny bit of the other eye. The eye is
mostly black, filled with a little white in the center to make it clear to viewers that this is an eye.
Moving down the face is a good sized nose that is yellow and black for viewers to see it is a nose,
along with a mouth that is mostly dark and difficult to distinguish. Near the eye and mouth are pink
colored, flower petal shapes. This is the only bright color that is on this side of the painting, other than
the yellow face, the small amount of white, and the black shadows on the face. Also, near the eye, are
small, yellow dots that seem to be coming out of the other eye. This side of the painting is quite
simple compared to the other side considering it lacks color. This part of the piece reminds me of a
girl who goes everyday without expressing who she truly is. The face in this painting looks sad and
straight faced as if something is wrong. The face is much different from what is portrayed to left of the
face. This image makes me think that this girl has so much inside her, but is not able to express herself
because she may be afraid to do so. The yellow, small dots that are coming from her eye make me
think that this is the only way she is expressing herself, and that only a tiny bit of her personality
comes out when she is near others. Where the yellow dots go back

Jack Russel Terrier Research Paper
The Jack Russell Terrier, or also known as the Parson Russell Terrier, are
more than just your everyday pet, they re more like a Jack in a box. These exuberant
little creatures are sought after and used for many different purposes. They date
back to as early as the 1800 s and were bred specifically for one purpose: that is
hunting fox and other small varmints. Don t let their hunting lineage fool you; they
are capable of far more than chasing a fox down a hole. Jack Russell Terriers are
among one of the most commonly used dogs in film and entertainment. Jack
Russell s gained a great deal of attention through the media when the show Frasier
was on the air. In an article titled, Our Towns; Little Terrors Turned into the Dogs ... Show more

It is important that a Jack Russell is
exercised daily, due to the amount of energy they contain. According to the article,
The Jack Russell Terrier Personality: Small Dog, Big Attitude, author Amy Brannan
states, like most intelligent dog breeds that were intended as working dogs, Jack
Russell s must be stimulated every single day and offered an appropriate level of
exercise to allow the dog an outlet for its energy (par. 7). Some may look at their
high energy levels as a bad trait, but it doesn t have to be. They are great for an
active individual seeking a dog that can keep up and constantly be on the move. This
holds especially true for any active person who loves to spend a great deal of time
outdoors; seeing the Jack Russell s main objective Is to hunt. If you re the type of
person who likes to be entertained, Jack Russell s are known for doing some very
quirky things. Such things include, running circles around your house at the speed of
light, adamantly watching what s on the television, licking you and everything in site
for no apparent reason, as well as being extremely curious and constantly in

Analysis Of Yes, Violent Video Games Do Cause Aggression
The author, Jean M Twenge Ph.D. who wrote Yes, Violent Video Games Do Cause Aggression ( 2012)
says, violent video games are definitely the main cause of the increase in violence. In the article by
Twenge, she states, studies have shown that violent video games actually cause aggression...it could
be that aggressive kids want to play aggressive games, or that an outside factor such as family
background causes both (Twenge 2012) Twenge goes on about how many people play video game so
they are reluctant to give them up, including the designers. It makes sense that the video game
industry would not want to believe that their product leads to aggression and violence in real life . If it
was proven that video games were the cause of violence, would people stop purchasing games?
Twenge continues on to assert that she wants violent video games off the shelf taking away violent
video games would not end mass shootings. But the best evidence available suggests that it would
reduce real life aggression (2012). Twenge s evidence proves that less violent video games would
improve the youth, and make them less aggressive.
A study, conducted by Brad Bushman of The Ohio State University and Bryan Gibson of Central
Michigan University, shows that at least for men, ruminating about the game can increase the potency
of the game s tendency to lead to aggression long after the game has been turned off. (2010). Bushman
and Gibson did a study on men and women with a set of non violent

  • 2. Research Paper On Hammerhead Shark If a bull shark and hammerhead shark were to fight, the bull shark would win. Bull sharks are the most dangerous sharks in the world! Along with this, bull sharks have special adaptations, and they hunt in shallow waters. Although hammerhead sharks have great vision, the shape of their heads, and the placement of their eyes cause them to have a huge blind spot right in the middle of their head. This makes it easier for other sharks to win a fight against the hammerhead. According to many experts, bull sharks are the most dangerous sharks in the word. They are an aggressive species of shark. Bull sharks are one of the top three sharks implicated in fatal attacks throughout the world! On the other hand, only three species of hammerhead sharks are known to attack humans. There have been just 17 confirmed unprovoked bites (from hammerhead sharks) on record worldwide since 1580, and none of them were fatal. That s just one non fatal bite in the world every 25 years. • 3. What to Do After Graduation in Major in Success by Patrick... There is a majority of university students worldwide who have something in common: they have no idea what they will do after they graduate. Some students may have several ideas came out, but they never make them come true. There are plenty of people who have difficulty to know what they are passionate in, and even they can do but most never have the extraordinary drive necessary to go for their dreams. At this difficult time, there is a book walked to me, Major in Success written by Patrick Combs, which is a book that is to help people find their true dream job and become successful, and also it helped me find the true purpose of studying in university. This book pointed out that doing what you enjoy propels you to success . It means doing what you enjoy is the core to find your dream job. If one has a job that pays well but he never get happiness from it, and instead of fears, tears and no cheers. He also brings their fears from work to their lives and families and makes these people who are outside of his job feel sad and then, that will destroy a big and happy environment. This book tells people how to make their dreams come true. People who follow their dreams are the meaning of living in the world and the way to get happiness. And everyone has this ability to achieve this goal; what they need to do is only to possess extraordinary drive. From the book, the author says repeatedly that when people get graduated, no one cares about your GPA. Patrick Combs said that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. A New Form Of Imperialism During the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, the United States pursued an aggressive policy of expansionism, extending its political and economic influence around the globe. Reasons for this were the strong desire for military strength, the thirst for new markets in order to stimulate the economy and trade, and the core belief in cultural superiority (QUOTE). During that time United States became an expansionist nation, so by late nineteenth century America s thrust into Imperialism had already begun. A new form of imperialism to an extent, the policy still involved extending its country authority and control over foreign countries as a medium of obtaining and maintaining an empire. Imperialism usually involves a stronger nation (emerging world power U.S.) extended control over a weaker nation. But different from the previous European empires of the colonialist time, which were formal administrative systems founded on social, economic and political control, the American Empire was in one way or another a voluntary association, established in improving international mass market. United States imperialism is mainly prevalent in Latin America, which the Spanish American War of 1898, marks the beginning of. The war marked the emergence of the United States as an externally focused world power. Post war the United States was left with a commercial and physical empire and a strong momentum for American nation building activities. This era which marks the new ... • 10. Marya Mannes How Do You Know It s Good In a world that has become immune to accepting all types of art, Marya Mannes believes we have lost our standards and ability to identify something as good or bad . In her essay, How Do You Know It s Good , she discusses society s tendency to accept everything out of fear of wrongly labelling something as being good or bad. She touches on various criteria to judge art, such as the artist s purpose, skill and craftsmanship, originality, timelessness, as well as unity within a piece rather than chaos. She says that an individual must decide if something is good on the basis of instinct, experience, and association (Mannes). I believe that by using standards and the process of association, we will be able to judge what makes an art piece good in comparison to others. However, Mannes forces me to consider the difference between what may be appealing versus what is actually good, and when deciding which art we should accept, which is truly more important. I believe that good and bad are two ends of a large, subjective spectrum of grey area. It is possible for a piece of art to be good in some areas and bad in others, and if something does not live up to all of our standards, it does not necessarily mean it should be dismissed. Thus, I believe my personal standards for judging art are based on which my standards are largely based on the personal reaction evoked from a piece of art. Though I agree with Mannes standards to an extent, I believe that certain standards, such as evoking a personal response, can be more telling of if a piece of art is good as opposed to its timelessness, or the level of experience of an artist in his/her craft. As Mannes stated, the process of association is essential in determining the quality of art, by comparing it to the other art we have seen. I am able to judge the multitexts I have read in class by using the process of association to compare them to each other. For example, we are able to judge the quality of the pieces by comparing and contrasting them to each other. All three of our multitexts used certain writing models such as analogy poems and dialogue. Cusion s piece Blame , is an analogy poem that he used to build on his multitext, implicitly telling readers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Judy intended to work during the first two years of marriage so they can buy extras like the refrigerator, washing machine, floor polisher, good radiogram and vacuum cleaner, in that order .1 As Judy s expectations and aspirations show, cleaning routines occupied a considerable amount of women s time in the 1950s and 1960s. Indeed, new products and applicances, as well as their greater availabilty, encouraged greater attention than ever to these chores. Consumer demand was insatiable though home scientist Norah Holland noted that women with young children demanded modern conveniences, while older women sometimes thought that the purchase of new equipment was unnecessary.2 By 1949, New Zealand company Fisher Paykel was producing 600 washing machines, 500 refrigerators and 700 vacuum cleaners each month, and struggled to fill orders.3 Demand was able to be satisfied only when import controls were relaxed in 1953. In Julius Caesar, Shakespeare uses the actions of Brutus in order to demonstrate the immorality of taking patriotic duty to be an absolute duty. Cassius wants Caesar killed, for less noble reasons, and is willing to use deception and manipulation to obtain his goal. One example of Cassius manipulation is found when he claims to Brutus that the noble Romans wished for Brutus to defeat Caesar, and take his power for the good of Rome. He claims that [He has] heard, / Where many of the best respect in Rome / Except immortal Caesar, speaking of Brutus / And groaning underneath this age s yoke, / Have wish d that noble Brutus had his eyes (1.2.58 62). Although his powers could be intense at times, he felt confident that he had a secure command over them and could summon them without difficulty. He didn t like to brag, but there were few kids in the kingdom who could rival his empowerment level and strength. However, there was one power that still proved challenging for Xavier: that of impediment. He struggled to block telepathic advances, especially when faced with a strong, capable telepath. His confrontation with William LeMasters only punctuated this deficiency. Although he had made gains in impediment and could, at times, hoodwink Uncle Mike, his father was a different matter altogether. The king was the most powerful telepathic alive. Tivo Marketing Case Analysis (Hbs) [pic] TiVo Marketing Executive Summary The disappointing sales performance during the Christmas 1999 season ended up being a priceless lesson for TiVo s marketing team: it was the catalyst that created the need for a TiVo s new communications strategy. However, defining this new marketing campaign was challenging, especially after the feedback received about the product indicated issues like limited awareness and hard to communicate functionalities. Users virtually eliminate the possibility of missing their favorite shows, since they can set up TiVo to record them. With these aforementioned features, TiVo will revolutionize the way Americans view television. Price. The current price of $999 for the 30 hour TiVo box is extremely high. • 21. Values And Chivalry In The Lais Of Marie De France Although the Lais of Marie de France may seem to be ordinary tales of knights and chivalry, each explores the complicated issues surrounding love, loyalty, and gender. Marie uses four stories in particular to make statements on the relationships between men and women of that time. The first story follows the tale of a knight named Guigemar. Despite his noble qualities and popularity, he never displayed the slightest interest in love (44). This all changes one day when Guigemar goes hunting. He shoots a stag and mortally wounds it, but the arrow rebounds and pierces his thigh. The dying stag tells him his wound won t heal until he is cured by a woman who will suffer for [his] love more pain and anguish than any other woman has ever known, and [he] will suffer likewise for her (44). This wound acts as a physical manifestation of the incompleteness of Guigemar s life. He is wounded with lack of romantic love, and fulfilling that need is the only way for him to become whole again. The stag also introduces an important aspect of courtly love. Both parties must willingly suffer for each other. The true virtue of love is a balance of power and equality in the relationship, something that Marie de France emphasizes throughout the story. The wounded Guigemar finds an opulently decorated boat and rests there, but the boat carries him across the sea before he can get off. It takes him to a kingdom where the exceedingly jealous king guards his wife and puts her in an enclosure ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Present Day Climate Change Many people think that present day climate change is similar to paleoclimate change, but this is only true when looking at the effects of climate change, the trends in temperature, and the trends in greenhouse gas levels, which have all stayed the same. By applying the principle of uniformity, we know that many of the current processes, such as plate tectonics happened in the same way in the past. In order to use climate proxy records, we have to apply this principle to be able to compare the data about the current and past environment with equal weight. We all want to succeed, but as a leader you have to determine what approach to make. Shall I take on this idea alone, or should I create a group to assist me, whatever it takes to succeed, right? Some ideas can be accomplished by an individual alone, but usually bigger ideas need a team to see it through. Working in a team environment can have its drawbacks, but it also has many benefits. In this paper I am going to provide research to support the setbacks and benefits of both the individual environment and the team environment. I found that what an individual may lack is a team s gain, vice versa. The important result is the success achieved by either a team, or an individual. In the International Journal of Psychology, the authors described a team as being collectivism. In the journal article Presence of Others and Task Performance in Japan and the United States: A Laboratory Investigation, the research was not only testing the effects of the different cultures on job productivity and job quality, but they were also focusing on the effects of working in a group versus working individually. Sufferers in these cases are often people. Nonetheless, these callous obscenities should not be seen as less important when animals are the victims. Animals undergo horrendous abuse due to barbaric individuals, greed, and unnecessary lab testing. Animals are beaten and abused on a daily basis due to barbaric individuals. Whether it be from harmful intentions or pure negligence most cases go unreported. Deliberate cruelty may involve beating, shooting, stabbing animals, or setting them on fire. Neglect is not giving a necessary food, water, shelter, or vet care (Human Society). The lack of attention and care for these animals can often lead to severe, and sometimes irrevocable damage. The Animal Legal Defense Fund, ALDF for short, website tells of one story where neighbors of a farm complained to the local humane society, that the Colliers were neglecting many animals on their farm, including dogs and horses. When they went to their property to investigate, they discovered dogs and horses in several states of neglect and starvation and seized them out of concern for their immediate health (ALDF). Persuasive Speech Logos No matter what discomforts and expenses you had to bear to come here, there will be seven minutes tomorrow morning that will make you feel it was worth it, said a NASA guide to a group of guests on the day of the rocket launch. The purpose of each of these articles have large distinctions between each other. The first article, In Event of Moon Disaster, by William Safire, is meant to comfort the audience. The second article, The July 16, 1969, Launch: A Symbol of Man s Greatness, by Ayn Rand, is meant to describe the amount of happiness and pride the nation as a whole felt that day. The purpose of these articles is also tremendously impacted by how the authors present the subject to the audience. Because the speaker of the second article, Ayn Rand, was present in this particular occasion there is an intimate influence on the text from the speaker. Both of these texts appeal to the audience with ethos considering they are both prevalent people in society. The President has automatic ethos, and the author also has ethos with her position as a novelist. On top of that both articles appeal to the audience with logos because it is very logical that the nation would either be upset and mourning the case of a loss, or the nation would be jubilant and elated with the successful landing on the moon. Lastly, the articles appeal to pathos in that they trap the american hearts with either sadness or happiness. The articles hook into the reader s emotion through talking about families mourning and using figurative language about the image of the launch. Both of these texts are equally effective in completing their purposes. Furthermore, the purpose in these two articles are completely variant, but they still have similarities. The first article, In Event of Moon Disaster, is just the President trying to comfort the American people and maybe even those who have theoretically died. The President is reaching out and reassuring his people that America will not give up, and that these two men were not lost in vain. • 41. S-D Logic Model Case Study Table 1: Service dominant logic foundational premises (Koehler, 2011) Malciute (2012) said in her study citing Brodie et al (2011B) that four of these underlying S D logic premises (numbers 6, 8, 9 and 10) have been found as of particular relevance and builds a solid conceptual foundation in explaining the conceptual roots of consumer engagement. According to her, together the four premises imply that value is not something embedded in the product, but the benefit that the consumer gets out of using the product instead. This suggests that the consumer experiences of the co creative and interactive nature taking place in complex relational environments may actually be viewed as the act of engaging . Hence, considering Varey Ballentyne s discussion of the S D logic model and that of Malciute s (2012) use of the model in her study, it can be said that consumers perceived value of the product can be derived only if they know the benefit they will get from it. This will only be possible if there is a point of interaction where communication between the consumers and business organization will be established and information exchange will occur. This interaction can now spark the engagement process that will lead to positive behaviors of consumers toward a product or service. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some of the major features of street sweeper are Pick Up Head As stated in Key Features (n.d.), street sweeper contains a very sharp feature which is a pick up head which contains two attractive features in it. One is suction system and other is air blast. The main motive of these systems is that it helps to remove debris from the streets. In addition to that, it has another interesting feature in it which is skids that improves wear life of pick up head (para.1.). Figure 2. Pick Up Head attached to the street sweeper. • 44. Stink Fish Street art is commonly seen all over the world, and you can often see this form of art on downtown building walls. This street painting by Stinkfish, a Colombian street artist, delivers a colorful piece of art for the public to see. Stinkfish did not give a name to this piece because he selects random spots to create his masterpieces. The painting is a girl s side profile view of her face and head. The view beside the face has many colorful shapes and figures that can symbolize many things happening in her head all the time. There is one simple side of this artwork which is the girl s face. The more vibrant side of this artwork can be viewed as what is painted beside the face, which is filled with many colors and different shapes. These colors ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Looking at the top of the face, viewers can see one large eye and a tiny bit of the other eye. The eye is mostly black, filled with a little white in the center to make it clear to viewers that this is an eye. Moving down the face is a good sized nose that is yellow and black for viewers to see it is a nose, along with a mouth that is mostly dark and difficult to distinguish. Near the eye and mouth are pink colored, flower petal shapes. This is the only bright color that is on this side of the painting, other than the yellow face, the small amount of white, and the black shadows on the face. Also, near the eye, are small, yellow dots that seem to be coming out of the other eye. This side of the painting is quite simple compared to the other side considering it lacks color. This part of the piece reminds me of a girl who goes everyday without expressing who she truly is. The face in this painting looks sad and straight faced as if something is wrong. The face is much different from what is portrayed to left of the face. This image makes me think that this girl has so much inside her, but is not able to express herself because she may be afraid to do so. The yellow, small dots that are coming from her eye make me think that this is the only way she is expressing herself, and that only a tiny bit of her personality comes out when she is near others. • 47. Analysis Of Yes, Violent Video Games Do Cause Aggression The author, Jean M Twenge Ph.D. who wrote Yes, Violent Video Games Do Cause Aggression ( 2012) says, violent video games are definitely the main cause of the increase in violence. In the article by Twenge, she states, studies have shown that violent video games actually cause aggression...it could be that aggressive kids want to play aggressive games, or that an outside factor such as family background causes both (Twenge 2012) Twenge goes on about how many people play video game so they are reluctant to give them up, including the designers. It makes sense that the video game industry would not want to believe that their product leads to aggression and violence in real life . If it was proven that video games were the cause of violence, would people stop purchasing games? Twenge continues on to assert that she wants violent video games off the shelf taking away violent video games would not end mass shootings. But the best evidence available suggests that it would reduce real life aggression (2012). Twenge s evidence proves that less violent video games would improve the youth, and make them less aggressive. A study, conducted by Brad Bushman of The Ohio State University and Bryan Gibson of Central Michigan University, shows that at least for men, ruminating about the game can increase the potency of the game s tendency to lead to aggression long after the game has been turned off.
