Masdar City is a planned zero-carbon city in Abu Dhabi that uses only renewable energy sources and efficient technologies to reduce energy consumption. The city generates energy through a 100 MW solar power plant, 10 MW solar PV plant, 1 MW solar rooftop installations, and a 400 MW hydrogen power plant using carbon capture. Transportation within the city is powered by an underground personal rapid transit system and regenerative elevators further reduce energy usage.
