Teaching approach: The lesson is based on the Communicative approach
and organized through The PPP Procedure.
Integration of skills:
SPEAKING: the learners practise speaking when they sing the hello song
and when they answer questions or make questions.
READING: when they have to read the title of the activities and the
grammar rule.
LISTENING: the learners develop this skill when they listen to the hello
song and the questions that the teacher makes.
WRITING: when the learners complete the activities, writing the numbers
and its names.
Materials and resources: a worksheet, a poster, flashcards, a book
and a notebook.
Pedagogical use of ICT in class or at home: In the lesson, I will use the
notebook to watch and listen to a video about a numbers song.
Seating arrangement: Students will be sitting in their desks.
Assessment: I will verify that students can understand and recognize the
numbers.
I will verify that learners can understand and produce oral and written
sentences using the numbers.
As I will use the PPP method, I will try to make the necessary miming so that
they understand using the target language, encouraging the students to
produce the pieces of language I am teaching.
I will check that learners can understand and complete the activities.
Stages in the lesson
Routine: 5´
4. Purpose: to start the lesson, motivating the students to be in a good mood
and predisposed work, to establish a good relationship.
Description:
I`ll get into the classroom and greet the learners: “hello! How are you?
E.A. Hello! Fine.
“Welcome back to school, for your holidays winters” E.A: welcome.
I will begin the lesson inviting the learners to sing the Hello song.
Hello, Hello
How are you?
I`m fine. And you?
I’m fine. Thank you.
Transition: “well, now we are going to remember some things, like colours
and numbers”
Warm Up: 5’
I am going to stick on the board a poster about numbers and colours.
5. Then, I will ask to the students “what number is it?” E.A: it is zero. And “what
colour is it?” E.A: it is orange. I will repeat the process with the rest of the
numbers and colours. And I will encourage students to repeat the of the
numbers.
Transition: Very Good! Now, we are going to work in the folders.
Development 35’:
Activity 1 - 10’:
I will give to the students a chart that they have to complete.
They have to add and substract the numbers and write the correct answers.

Transition: Very Good! Now, we are going to work on the book.
Activity 2 - 5’:
I will invite students to open their books on page 39. I will invite them to pay
attention to the difference between singular and plural. And I will invite the
students to read the grammar rule, in the exercise 3.
Then I will invite the students to complete with a tick the correct answer in
the second part of the exercise.
6. Transition: now we are going to continue with the next activity in the book.
Activity 3 - 10’:
I will invite the learners to complete the activity 4 on page 39.
They have to complete the chart with the correct number and classroom
objects.
Transition: Very Good! Now, we are going to work in the folders.
Activity 4 - 10’:
I will give to the students a worksheet with a word search. They have to find
21 words about the numbers and colours.
