Google has been working on driverless car technology since 2005 through a formal team of 15 engineers starting in 2010. While driverless cars are still illegal in most states, Nevada was the first to pass a law allowing operation of driverless cars in 2011. Google has received the first and only license to operate a modified Prius without a driver in Nevada. The technologies behind Google's driverless car include laser sensors, radar sensors, GPS, and cameras which work together to map surroundings with no blind spots.
