Introduction
• Cosmetics are substances or products used to
enhance or alter the appearance of the face or
fragrance and texture of the body.
• Eye Makeup Products are used around the eye
to enhance the appearance of the eyes and to
emphazise the beauty of the eyes.

• Lip products add color to your lips and can
make a noticeable, quick difference to your
look.
• Nail Products are products that are used to
color the nails, to protect them against damage,
to soften and condition cuticles, and to
supplement the nails.

Eye cosmetics
Mascaras: are products intended to enhance
the appearance of the eye by
thickening,lengthening, and usually darkening
the eyelashes.
Eye brow Pencils: are products that apply
color to the eyebrows.
They are used to fill in and define the eyebrows.

Eye liners :are products that apply color to the area
around the eyes to accent and highlight appearance of the
eyes.
 Eyeliners are used to emphasize the eyelids and to
change the perceived shape of the eyes.
 Eye Color / eye shadow are products intended to apply
color in the area of the eye to enhance and accent the
appearance of the eyes.
 Eye Color products such as Eye shadow are applied on
the eyelids and under the eyebrows , to add depth and
dimention to the eye.

 Eye Makeup Remover :are products intended
to help easily remove makeup that has been
applied.
• They help to remove the applied color and to
make sure it easily wipes off using a tissue or
other cloth.
• They contain special ingredients that apply
color where it is needed in a precise and
controlled manner.

Lip Products
• Lip products are products that adds color to the lips .
• There are several different kinds of lip products. such
as
 Lip balm or lip salve is a wax-like substance applied
topically to the lips to moisturize and relieve chapped
or dry lips, angular cheilitis , stomatitis, or cold sores.
• to provide an occlusive layer on the lip surface to seal
moisture in lips and protect them from external
exposure.
• it also known as chap stick.

 lip gloss :These mainly add shine to your lips,
usually with a sheer-to-medium level of color.
They tend to fade up quickly and can also be
sticky .
• used primarily to give lips a glossy lustre, and
sometimes to add a subtle color.
• used when a person wants to have some color
on their lips, but does not want an intense,
solid lip color effect.

Types of lip gloss
Based on the presence or absence of color ,we
can classify lip products in to three.
1. Basic lip gloss adds basic shine to the lips
without color.
2. Colored lip gloss adds a combination of color
and shine.
3. Glittery lip gloss can be with or without color,
but has a glitter base

 Lip stain
Lip stain: is used to color the lips, usually in
form of a liquid or gel.
• stays on longer than lipstick by leaving a stain
of color on the lips.
• However, it can dry the lips and is not
recommended for winter .
 Lipstick: contains pigments, oils, waxes, and
emollients that apply color, texture, and
protection to the lips.
 condition and protect the fragile skin on the lips.
 protect your lips from the harmful UV rays.
 provide hydration to lips

Nail products
• Nail Products are used to color the nails, to
protect them against damage, to soften and
condition cuticles, and to supplement the nails.
• The care of nails is referred to as Manicuring.
 Cuticle Oils, Creams And Lotions: are
designed to moisturize, exfoliate and address a
variety of cosmetic conditions of the skin in
the finger nail area .

 Nail Polishes: Nail polishes (also called
lacquers or enamels), applied to the nail plate
to provide a pleasing look and to address
specific nail plate conditions.
Artificial Nail Extensions: provide a protective
coating for the nail plate and may extend
beyond the free edge of the natural nail to add
length.

 broadly classified into three categories:
(1) liquid/powder systems, referred to as
acrylics; contain two components, a liquid
acrylicmonomer and a solid acrylic powder.
(2) light-cured systems, referred to as gels;
contain oligomer based ingredients such as
methacrylates and a UV light sensitive initiator (
photoiniator ).
(3) wraps:consists of a wrap material, a
cyanoacrylate glue, and an amine catalyst .

 Manicure and Pedicure Products are designed
to cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize hands and
feet nail.
o Nail lacquers are viscous preparations intended
to decorate nails for fingers and toes.
o Nail removers / nail cleansers are defined as
the mixture of solvents containing small
amounts of fat intended to remove the nail
enamel.

Introduction • Cosmetics are substances or products used to enhance or alter the appearance of the face or fragrance and texture of the body. • Eye Makeup Products are used around the eye to enhance the appearance of the eyes and to emphazise the beauty of the eyes. by group 5 students 4 5/1/2024
  • 5. cont… • Lip products add color to your lips and can make a noticeable, quick difference to your look. • Nail Products are products that are used to color the nails, to protect them against damage, to soften and condition cuticles, and to supplement the nails. by group 5 students 5 5/1/2024

Eye cosmetics Mascaras: are products intended to enhance the appearance of the eye by thickening,lengthening, and usually darkening the eyelashes. Eye brow Pencils: are products that apply color to the eyebrows. Lip Products • Lip products are products that adds color to the lips . • There are several different kinds of lip products. such as  Lip balm or lip salve is a wax-like substance applied topically to the lips to moisturize and relieve chapped or dry lips, angular cheilitis , stomatitis, or cold sores. • to provide an occlusive layer on the lip surface to seal moisture in lips and protect them from external exposure. • it also known as chap stick. by group 5 students 9 5/1/2024

They tend to fade up quickly and can also be sticky . • used primarily to give lips a glossy lustre, and sometimes to add a subtle color. • used when a person wants to have some color on their lips, but does not want an intense, solid lip color effect. by group 5 students 10 5/1/2024
  • 11. Types of lip gloss Based on the presence or absence of color ,we can classify lip products in to three. 1. Basic lip gloss adds basic shine to the lips without color. 2.   • 12.  Lip stain Lip stain: is used to color the lips, usually in form of a liquid or gel. • stays on longer than lipstick by leaving a stain of color on the lips. • However, it can dry the lips and is not recommended for winter .  Lipstick: contains pigments, oils, waxes, and emollients that apply color, texture, and protection to the lips.  condition and protect the fragile skin on the lips.  protect your lips from the harmful UV rays.  provide hydration to lips by group 5 students 12 5/1/2024

Nail products • Nail Products are used to color the nails, to protect them against damage, to soften and condition cuticles, and to supplement the nails. • The care of nails is referred to as Manicuring.  Cuticle Oils, Creams And Lotions: are designed to moisturize, exfoliate and address a variety of cosmetic conditions of the skin in the finger nail area . by group 5 students 13 5/1/2024
