• The    goal of all technology use at St. Gabriel's Catholic School is
    to have a positive impact on the education of our students

• Wherever    possible, technology will be used to TRANSFORM the
    student experience, rather than replicate it (R.A.T. Framework)

•   The use of educational technology will sharpen students' 21st
    Century Skills

• All   iPad use will connect back to the learning goals of classes

• Grade 4 students will start the year with iPads parked at
 school overnight

• No    FaceTime or other video conferencing Apps

• No    iMessage or other texting/messaging Apps

• Web     Filter extended to home 

• Increased    communication

• SGCS     Mobile Device Management
MOBILE DEVICE MANAGEMENT

 • Some  control over student iPads, many more administrative
  functions (network, reset passcodes, etc.)

 • FaceTime

 • Media   Content: Movies=PG / TV= PG / Apps= 9+ (9-12)

 • Not   allowing explicit music and podcasts

 • How   this effects Grade 5 apps

• Formalstudy to define if there is a correlation between
 student iPad use and performance

• Research, data-collection
                         and analysis will take place over the
 course of the 2012-13 school year
