Evaluation Of A Psychology Experiment
Method
Participants
Each researcher in the class interviewed between one to two children within the following age group;
3 5, 8 10 and, 13 15 years old. As a total, there were 33 children involved in the experiment. There
were 8 children ages 3 5 interviewed; 4 males and 4 females. There were 15 children ages 8 10
interviewed; 8 males and 7 females. There were 10 children ages 13 15 interviewed; 6 males and 4
females. The participants were selected because the experimenter knew the child they were
interviewing. Before interviewing the child, the experimenter asked the parent of the child if it was ok
to ask the child some questions for a psychology experiment.
Materials
Items necessary to complete the experiment were a computer to type up the responses from the child
being interviewed and a phone to call the intended child if the interview was not conducted face to
face.
Procedure
Age groups were assigned based on the people in the class who knew a child within an age group
designated by the experiment. From there, the instructor attempted to keep the groups as even as
possible so to have even results. Interviews were conducted over the phone or in person. Before the
experiment, the prior lab session explained the purpose of the experiment, the procedure, and the
interview questions and instructions. The purpose of the experiment was to look at the social cognitive
development of children as they grew older by interviewing a child about their friendship. The

Human Nature Establishes Political Authority
Now that we have an understanding of the three different accounts of the state of nature, it is
important to understand the differing accounts of how human nature establishes political authority.
Hobbes believes that because the state of nature is a constant state of war, the role of government must
be to protect the people to protect people from themselves. Therefore, the purpose of political
authority is to enforce law and order, and that the purpose of government is to control and be
authoritative and should not be responsible for representing the people. Hobbes believes that you must
give up your natural rights for peace. In the social contract man give up their rights to the state, but the
social contract can only be signed among those who are equal as it is a contract established by the
enforcer. Locke has a differing view that the establishment of political authority is to ensure that men
have their property rights protected. Locke believes that the greatest purpose that men have for society
is to be able to use their property, and to do safe while doing so. Therefore, Locke believes that the
most important positive law that society should establish is the right to legislative power. To be
governed under legislative power means that the government has to have the consent of the people. By
having a government that is accountable to the people they represent, it will protect the people being
governed against oppression, a government that has the consent of the people

Washington Dc Research Paper
Development of Washington D.C.
Washington D.C. is considered by many people to be the most important city in not just the United
States, but in the whole world. Washington D.C., to many, is like the capitol of the free world.
Decisions that have made the world how it is today have happened in is very city which was named
after the first president of the United States. As important as the city itself is, its development is just as
important. That is why, in the following, we will explore how Washington D.C. came to be the great
city it is today.
George Washington himself chose the location of Washington D.C.; north of where the Potomac and
Anacostia rivers meet. The city was officially founded on July 16, 1790. Pierre Charles L Enfant, a
French architect appointed by George Washington, was to design ... Show more content on

is the National Mall. The National Mall consists of the Capitol Building, the Washington Monument,

Monument is a stone obelisk over 500 feet tall and is the centerpiece of the National Mall. The
monument is also made out of 40,000 marble and granite blocks and is the tallest freestanding
structure in the world. You might ask yourself; What is holding this structure together? The answer is
the monuments weight. After six years of construction on the monument, the project ran out of money
because of the young nation going to civil war. The monument was only 150 feet in the air at this
point. Twenty four years later, 1878, construction once again began on the Washington Monument.
Thomas Lincoln Casey was the head engineer on the construction, but was faced with a problem right
away because the original blocks were not available anymore. That is why the bottom portion of the
structure is a different shade than the top portion. Casey had another problem; Congress could not

The Value Of Anne Frank s Diary
Anne Frank was a German Jewish teenager who was forced to go into hiding during the Holocaust.
She and her family along with four others spent over 2 years during World War 2 hiding. On her 13th
birthday, Anne received a diary as a gift from her parents. At first, she finds it a little unusual to be
writing in a diary. Anne would write short stories and read the stories to others for entertainment. Anne
thought of the diary as a friend that she could tell anything to, she even gave it a name Kitty . Anne
enjoyed writing because she wanted to be a journalist when she grew up. Anne Frank died on March

12 Super Healthy Root Vegetables which You Should Implement in Your Daily Diet ASAP

Deployment And Integration In The Military Family
Deployment and integration is one the greatest challenges military families and children have to face
on a daily basis. When a family member deploys or reintegrates within the entire family, it not only
affects the service member but it affects the entire family. Deployment can often lead to families and
children, experiencing a negative mental health outcomes and compromised wellbeing. Bello (2015)
found that most families and children (80.5% required less than one month to adjust to the return of
their deployed parent (Bello, 2015). Accordingly, the families and children are often quick to adjust to
having their family member back in the home. Interestingly, discoveries are surprising in light of the
fact that when contrasted to another family, the discoveries are definitely unique. Boberiene (2014)
found that three out of every four families feel that reintegration after the first three months is the most
stressful phase of a deployment (Boberiene, 2014). This is because the family experiences many
emotions while the member is away. It appears that, families and children didn t require as much time
to adjust to reintegration as much as the families did in Bobriene s (2014) study. It may be that all
families and children handle reintegration differently and some may require more time than others.
The results in Boberiene s (2014) study is similar to what Chandra (2009) had said about families and
children, she stated that the number of months for deployment had a huge

The Church On Earth
For the Church on earth is endowed already with a sanctity that is real but imperfect. 1 Throughout
history, God has used many events, personalities and desicions to bring his pilgrim Church closer to
the fullness of sanctity He desires for it. Although throughout history the Church has found herself
confronted with controversy, pain and the imperfect nature of humanity, these moments often brought
opportunities for God to manifest Himself in ways that continue to impact Catholics today. The Holy
Spirit s intervention in dark times has allowed the Church to continue forward. It has impacted history
as a whole, bringing light to a world covered by the cloud of sin. Within this reality, I have found three

In this way, St. Paul practiced inculturation, which we continue to see around the world. There are so
many rich and beautiful articulations of the Catholic faith around the world, which not take away from
the universiality of the Church, but rather displays it. St. Paul encouraged this as he founded churches
in different areas, guiding them through the unique challenges of each culture. This is shown in his
letters, as each carries a special significance to those whom he directly addressed (i.e. Letter to the
Romans, Letter to the Hebrews). Even so, they still apply to us today. His theological insights into the
life and teachings of Christ are the foundation upon which many of doctrines stand, including the
Catholic understanding of suffering in union with Christ. Also, St. Paul s own conversion from
persecutor to apostle powerfully reminds us that it is never too late to turn to Christ. My birthday is
the feast of St. Paul s conversion. Personally, St. Paul s teachings, written two thousand years ago, still
speak truth into my life, inspiring me daily to trust that where sin abounded, grace abounds all the

Importance Of Learning Computers
What is a computer and why it is essential to learn about computers today?
A computer can be defined as a machine that manipulates data according to a list of instructions
(Oxford). According to Webster dictionary a computer is defined as a programmable usually electronic
device that can store, retrieve, and process data (Merriam Webster). Whether it be a laptop, desk top,
tablet or phone, it is essential to learn about computers in order to function in the 21st century.
Computers are found everywhere in society. They make locating and processing data much easier and
efficient. Computers allow entities such as hospitals or businesses to process information rapidly with
the click of a button. Computers allow information to be transferred from one city to another in an
instant. The internet, phone, watch, printer and even some homecare are all run by a computer.
If someone in today s society does not understand how to operate the computer they more than likely
will not be able to maintain a job, or even complete basic functions within our society. Computers are
essential items in today s culture and used worldwide as a tool for effective communication and
processing of data.
Health Care Technology
Computers and health care have worked hand in hand for many years but within the last 10 years the
increase in the use of computer technology has catapulted healthcare into the 21st century. The use of

In fact, In 2013, 63 percent of divorce attorneys surveyed by the American Academy of Matrimonial

The Killer Whale And The Whale s Dolphin Family
A killer whale is a toothed whale belonging to the ocean s dolphin family. The killer whale can also be
referred to as the orca whale or an orca. The killer whale belongs with the ocean s family of dolphins,
it s the largest member of the dolphin family. The whale weighs approximately up to eight thousand
eight hundred pounds and it can grow up to twenty eight feet in length. In this essay I will be
presenting the many factors that are included in a killer whale such as, stereotypes, intelligence,
foraging and feeding, living in groups, different types, appearance, and their life cycle. Mammal
eating killer whales typically travel in much smaller groups then fish eating whales, presumably
because there is some advantage to doing so. For killer whales hunting harbor seals, individual food
intake rates are highest for individuals in groups of three, that is, three appears to be an optimal group
size for foraging. Killer whales generally choose to attack young or weak animals, however a group of
five or more may attack a healthy adult.
Killer whales work together to force the fish from deep water up to near the surface where they are
easier to catch. Killer whales are highly social; some populations are composed of matrilineal family
groups, which are the most stable of any animal group. Another commonly cited example of a benefit
group living for various species of whales or dolphins is babysitting or allomothering.
The killer whale consists of three different types of

The Count Of Monte Cristo Essay
The Count of Monte Cristo By: Alexandre Dumas
Type of Literary Work: Historical Novel
This book is an example of a historical Novel. It is historically accurate, and consists of characters that
could have existed in the nineteenth century.
Theme:Judgment Day comes to us all inevitably. We all pay for all evil and injustices of our life, yet
sometimes there will be someone so viciously wronged, that he will return like a wrath of nature, with
and unquenchable thirst for vengeance. Such a vendetta is the building block for the theme of this
novel. The Count of Monte Cristo is that wrath of vengeance that crushes those who plotted his
demise.

Fernand Mondego is jealous of the love Mercedes and Dantes have for each other. Caderousse is

Dantes is carrying a letter to Villefort s father who is a Bonapartist. In fear that this letter might hurt
his position, he throws Dantes into the weary depths of the Chateau d If. Justification for this action
comes by the means of Fernand, Danglars, and Caderousse. They lie, claiming Dantes was a
Bonapartist. For years Dantes is brought to lonely depth of despair in prison. He hardly keeps his
sanity, and becomes suicidal. His sinking heart is resurrected with the sound of a fellow prisoner
burrowing. He too digs, and meets the wise old Abbe Faria. Through the wise Abbe, Dantes learns a
wide variety of subjects and becomes a thoroughly learned individual.
The two plan an escape, but shortly before the completion of their plan, the old Abbe dies, but not

The Cold War Era
Works Cited Missing
The late 1940s to the mid 1980s the American society saw what could quite possibly be titled the
biggest technological effect on society. This era, The Cold War, was a period in which fear of attack or
invasion and a need to be superior reigned in the American society. It led to the development of space
technology, during the Space Race, communication systems, and military technology in what has been
appropriately deemed the Arms Race.
On October 4, 1957 [1] a huge change concerning technology in society occurred. On this date, the
United Soviet Socialists Republic (USSR) launched Sputnik into outer space. The launch of Sputnik

NASA was not engineering in a new field; the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA)
and other government organizations had been working on the idea of space flight. These organizations
were subsequently pulled into NASA upon its creation. [3] The main focus became developing
technology that was steady enough and strong enough to support human life in space.
The act of simply launching a rocket into space had been achieved over ten years before when Nazi
Germany launched its first successful V 2 rocket in October 1942. The V 2 (Vengeance Weapon 2)
rocket was built to shoot warheads at targets from a long range. [4]
With the disastrous ability of the V 2 in mind, when Sputnik was launched, the fear of ICBMs
(Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles) became a very prevalent part of American society. Families built
bomb shelters in their backyards and stocked them with non perishable goods to help them sustain life
if they were ever attacked. Students and employees practiced air raid drills by crawling under desks
and tables. An imminent fear of attack hung heavily in the air causing such historical events as the Bay
of Pigs and the Cuban Missile Crisis. The entire era of the Cold War was spurred by a fear of the
technology that the opposing country (either Russia or America) possessed; thus, the obvious effect of
technology on the society of the times.

Argumentative Essay On Student Debt
Student Debt. Few words drive more fear into the hearts of parents and teenagers alike.
With college graduates now owing more than $1.5 trillion in debt and nearly five million Americans in
student loan default, borrowing for higher education is quickly spiralling out of control. Universities
are one of the best places for wholesome instruction, but what good are these institutions when no one
can pay for their resources? In order to alleviate the problem, many politicians have proposed plans to
make all public college tuition free for students under a set income threshold. Although it may seem
like just the solution that is needed, making college tuition free, even for a select group of students, is
not the best option and would fail to solve the fundamental cause of the student debt crisis in the first
place. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In just fiscal year 2014 alone, public colleges collected over $58 billion in tuition, nearly double the
$31 billion the government already spends on grants for institutions. To simply waive $58 billion
would necessitate a dramatic increase in government spending to compensate, and, by extension, a
dramatic increase in taxes. Not all students at all colleges have troubles with debt, either. The majority
of students who have problems paying off their student loans are those who attended small for profit
schools or community colleges, as those who attend more expensive schools, despite borrowing more,
often end up with higher salaries once they enter the job market. Moreover, what would be done about
those who have already graduated from community college with debt on their shoulders? Waiving
tuition for all public universities would not resolve these problems; instead, the burden would merely
be shifted to taxpayers, hindering economic growth and leaving those with existing debt out of

Aldous Huxley 5
When Aldous Huxley wrote Brave New World in 1931, nobody imagined that his fairytale story

was almost pinpoint exact to predicting today s societies. Unfortunately, all of these things haven t
exactly changed our society today for the better. It is amazing to see how accurately Aldous Huxley
was in his predictions to human conformity today. The novel s classes of Alphas, Betas, Gammas,

In this world, the family unit does not exist and the concept of having a mother and father is
considered a primitive quality of humans. Technology has subverted the world so much that even God
is replaced by Ford. Constant references throughout the novel are made to Our Ford, referring to
Henry Ford, the embodiment of industrial development. The real world in which we live is not much
different from this that Huxley writes about in the 1930 s. Technological developments have already
allowed us to create embryos outside of the womb. The values that once existed in religion and family
are slowly but surely disappearing. Even today, the vast majority of America and the world have
lessened their beliefs, their worshiping of God and practicing religion. Technology has become the
new religion as it provides the materialistic progress that people desire. Women will soon have the
ability to have children but not carry the children themselves for nine months. What is important
anymore? Because of technology, a family unit merely represents a group of people that has dinner
together every so often. Values in education and good citizenship are no longer taught to children in
such intensity as distractions brought forth by the media and video games only encourage having fun
as opposed to studying and working hard for a future. We are destroying our own world with the
obsessive violence taught and practiced by elementary

Part II At eight in the morning on March 18th, my classmate Hallie and I showed up at the

The Universalism Of Human Rights
Universalism of Human Rights Violated In recent decades, universalism of human rights concerning
abortions has emerged into the world that we know today. Many believe that human rights are
universal. Others believe that universalizing human rights do not even exist. Looking at the United
States of America, Africa, and Latin America, I have come to the conclusion that universalism of
human rights concerning abortions does exist in our world today. A study on how universalism of
human rights are violated reveals one challenge facing the world: universalism of human rights
concerning abortions in the United States, Latin America, and Africa. Is abortion a violation of human
rights or are humans a violation of human rights? In the United ... Show more content on

Therefore people have the right to protest wherever they feel the need to. That does not mean that the
people have the right to harass women who had or will have abortions. The Supreme Court ruled the
McCullen v. Coakley case on June of 2014. The McCullen v. Coakley case was thought of by a
grandmotherly anti abortion sidewalk counselor , Eleanor McCullen (Redden, 2014). The case
decision stated that Massachusetts abortion clinic 35 foot buffer zone law violated the First
Amendment because it limited free speech of broadly (Adler, 2014). Chief Justice, John Roberts,
argued that a painted line on the sidewalk is easy to enforce, but the prime objective of the First
Amendment is not efficiency (Liptak and Schwartz, 2014). Justice Samuel Alito, argued it is clear...
that it discriminates based on viewpoint. Speech in favor of the clinic...is permitted; speech criticizing
the clinic and its work is a crime (Starr, 2014). Nicole Clegg, spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood s
Portland office, argued that regardless of the decision, they remain committed to protecting the
privacy and safety of our patients and will work to ensure that women are able to make their own
health care decisions without fear of harassment or intimidation (Byrne, 2014). I personally feel that I
am liberal when it comes down to abortion. Most women who have, had, or will have abortions should
not be allowed to. Women who are having abortions are basically

The Impacts Of The Holocaust And The Holocaust
The Holocaust, a genocide which lasted from 1942 to 1945 in which around 6 million European
Jewish people were killed, was the result of the Ideals of the the past chancellor of Germany, Adolf
Hitler. Hitler came into power by capitalising on world wide events such as the great depression in
1929 resulting from the Wall Street crash. He began spreading his ideals of anti semitism to the
German population in preparation for the Final Solution , which became known as the Holocaust with
the assistance of propaganda, violence, and an economic boycott. Most of the impacts resulting from
his methods proved to be extremely valuable to the success of the preparation as they efficiently and
effectively brainwashed a hateful image of the Jewish population into the minds of the German people
and aligned them with Hitler s ideals of anti Semitism. However, some of his methods did were not
valuable to preparing the German people as they were not able to depict a hateful image of the Jews.
Propaganda was arguably one of the most effective ways for ideas to be spread around rapidly, In his
autobiography, Mien Kampf, Hitler states: Propaganda tries to force a doctrine on the whole people.....
Propaganda works on the general public from the standpoint of an idea and makes them ripe for the
victory of this idea. It shows that Hitler understood the effectiveness of propaganda and used it to
spread his anti Semitist ideals towards the German people to create a negative image of the Jewish

An Analysis Of The Socialist Alternative
Quintessentially, we need to join all forces socialists, liberals, deep greens, trade unionists, feminists,
indigenous activists (Angus, p. 221) everyone who is willing to demand decisive actions to stop
greenhouse gas emissions protecting nature and ecological balance. The ecological emergency is a
great challenge for the renewal of a revised Marxists thought and a break from the ideology of linear
progress. Moreover, we need to translate the innate human solidarity that happens in natural disasters
or war time, Angus gives very good examples in merit referring to Hurricane Katrina, (Angus, p.193),
in everyday life, building a human solidarian society that performs beyond self interest, as Michael
Lebowitz describes in The socialist Alternative (Angus, p. 193). The main problem is that we are
running against time and sectarian isolation of movements. (Angus, p.195) What are the goals of an

This is a very sad point for me, in this moment. Being a nontraditional foreign student, I had to spend
about one extra year in renewal classes (written English, calculus etc.) for which I have reached the
maximum ceiling of financial aid loans. Now I am facing the fact that I need to find the funds to make
it to graduation through a private student loan, which is denied to permanent residents like me, unless
a citizen co signs for it. My daughter is not eligible, although being a citizen, because she is in
graduate school herself. Many nontraditional students are in my same situation, risking to end on a

Presidential Elections Dbq
Television is an important educational tool in society, however, it does not have a place in presidential
elections, due to the inequality and lack of substantive discussion in televised debates, as well as
irrelevant physical standards being placed upon presidential candidates. Journalists agree that political
debates are an ineffective method for deciding the leader of the country, and they are not worth the use
of television resources. Should the decision of who is in charge of a massive country be made based
on physical appearances, such as height, hairstyle and other superficial traits? Using these methods of
deduction to decide an elected official is extremely unintelligent and ineffective compared to the
alternative, an intelligent interview printed in an article or magazine. Citizens of a society are
incredibly resistant to change, but examining journalists opinions and articles proves that a significant
change must be made. The lack of substantive discussion in televised presidential debates largely
contributes to the negative effect television has had on presidential elections. Many ... Show more

an interview with Bill Clinton in 1992, in which Clinton discusses, among other topics, his underwear

discussions that occur on television (Source B). Conversations such as this interview, although slightly
humorous, provide absolutely no information about a candidate s policy positions or planned actions if
elected. The members of a society, whether they decide to vote or not, should be fully informed on
these topics. Television is not providing an ample source for information due to the irrelevance of the
discussions and the lack of substantial information

The Death Investigations When people hear the word forensics it evokes a mindful of graphic, vibrant
images that bring about death and crime. It s a trigger word that reminds people of gore, autopsies,

examples of what forensics hold. Forensics is such a broad term it is scientific tests or techniques used
in connection with the detection of a crime , so with that given definition forensics could mean many
different things. You could go from someone who works as the forensic computer technician who can

reasonable that police can utilize savage power to secure and serve the general population of our

question. The term #BlackLivesMatter is the people of color saying that they are tired of police
brutality against colored men. Interracial couples in Baltimore fear for their biracial children because
they are half African American. And officers killing men of color who didn t do harm and didn t get

Compare And Contrast St. Louis
St. Louis is a town in the middle of Missouri located on the Mississippi River. Back in the earth 1900
St. Louis used to be a huge bustling city. The city was very important for trade because of its location
in the Mississippi. So many people lived in St. Louis and traveled from all around the world to
gothere.St. Louis even hosted the 1904 world s fair which was held in its very own Forest park. St.
Louis is kinda like Edinburgh Scotland, Edinburgh has so much history dating back to the medieval
ages and even before that. The city it self has so much history from the Edinburgh castle, Arthur s seat,
and many more historical site from Mary Queen of Scots bedroom to where she gave birth to her son
king James; even many grave yards with successful writers and philosophers buried in them. These
two cities are a lot a like because of the great history that had gone before them in the past. These two
cities have seen many meaningful historical events happen in the past.
The culture of these two cities are some what similar yet different at the same time. Everyone is polite
as can be which is sometimes a bad thing because people don t know if they re trying to steal
something from you. Everyone also just does there own thing no one really bothers anyone or they

Consequently, many storage problems can be solved with a software centric infrastructure and move
storage from proprietary hardware devices to software led services that become storage pools in the

Analysis Of The Book Judges
The book of Judges is a very structured literary piece that uses chronological structure to make a point
and emphasize an idea. Judges narrates the Israelites continual decline in morality and their downward
spiral away from God, through the accounts of the judges, minor judges, and individuals. While many
people use the book of judges to teach courage and strength, it would be more accurately described as
a book of brokenness and terror. The book of Judges begins with a prologue. The prologue is twofold.
The first part of the prologue takes a historical look back on the conquest of the Promised Land, and
reemphasizes the failure of Israelite tribes when they did not drive the inhabitance of the land out and
fully take the land as God ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first judge introduced is Othniel, who was raised up by the Lord to deliver the Israelites from the
king of Mesopotamia. The land of Israel had rest for 40 years under his judgeship. The Israelites went
back to what was evil, and their next deliverer was Ehud, a left handed Benjaminite. He delivered
them from the Moabite king, Eglon, and the land experienced 80 years of rest. Shamgar is the next
judge in the narrative. The striking difference seen here is Shamgar does not have a semitic name or
any tribe affiliation, so it is possible that the Israelites were delivered by a Gentile. The next judge,
Deborah, is the only woman judge mentioned. She is also said to have been a prophetess, and a judge
with actual judicial function, instead of a military leader. All the judges mentioned so far have not
been said to have been good and righteous leaders, but it has also not said they have been immoral or
corrupt as later judges are, so it can be assumed that they were good judges. This drastically changes
as we look at the next judges. The narrative of judges takes a momentary break to mention the Lord
sending a prophet to the people of Israel. The prophet reminds the Israelites of the deliverance they
received from God in Egypt, and calls them not to fear the gods of the Amorites. The prophet ends
with But you have not obeyed my voice (Jud. 6:10). From this point on in

The Great Depression Of The 1920 S
Following WW I in the 1920 s, there was a decade of an economical explosion. The post war era
brought about many changes. Businesses showed great profits, migration to big cities of industrial
companies occurred with the hopes of making a better life, people were given the opportunity to
purchase things on credit, while others borrowed money making poor decisions buying high priced
stocks with the intention of selling stocks for a profits to repay lenders. When Black Tuesday occurred
on October 29, 1929, this marked the beginning of the Great Depression that left devastating
economic hardships for the American people. Although it was always my belief that the stock market

S. and other countries that had industries charged high import taxes on good that were offered for sale.
These taxes prevented counties from selling the goods they needed to earn the money to repay loans to
the U.S. banks. In a three year period over 9,000 banks went bankrupt or had to close their doors to
avoid bankruptcy which led to a decline in purchasing powers. When the banks started failing people
lost their saving because the banks were uninsured. The banks weren t as willing to offer new loans.
At the same time this was occurring, there was the distribution of unequal income. Businesses were
showing great profits during the 1920 s, however the working class only got a small portion of this
wealth with their low wages. People with low incomes purchased merchandise on credit. People
thought that they had more money to spend on materialistic possessions using credit. Advertising
increased, enticing people with the buy now, pay later slogan which in turn caused many consumers to
accumulate so much debt that were unable to keep up with payments on the items they purchased, and
they were repossessed. Once the slowing of manufactured goods occurred, inventory accumulated and
there was a backlog of purchasing merchandise which caused even less spending that didn t help the
economy.
Another problem contributing to the Depression was the epic drought that occurred in 1930. During
WWI, thousands of farmers migrated to the Great Plains area because of its rich

Importance Of Erformance Tuning And Partitioning
erformance tuning and partitioning go hand in hand, in that partitioning is one you can take to tune
performance from a database level, so I will start out with explaining tuning and then go into detail
about partitioning.
Performance tuning can take place from a DBA perspective, at the full database level, or from a
Developer perspective, on the level of individual packages/procedures/functions and SQL queries.
Before initiating performance tuning, you need to know where your performance bottlenecks are.
There are a number of ways a DBA can determine where the bottlenecks are, including AWR reports,
which can show the DBA what areas show the highest wait times. Once the specific SQL statements
or PL/SQL code has been targeted, we can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once a table is partitioned, it is easier and faster to access the data in the table, because a query can
access just one or a group of partitions on the table, rather than accessing all of the data in the parent
table. You can even specify a partition to use in your query. Queries can also work in parallel on the
table, running through multiple partitions at once, which is especially helpful if you find you can t
avoid a full table scan. So, even if your partitions aren t set up logically to your query, there is a
performance improvement to partitioning. There are several options for the type of partitioning you
can do. One common method is to partition by a range of data, for instance a date range. This is
helpful if your table has a lot of historical data, and only the newest data is normally accessed or
updated, rather than accessing ALL of the historical data, you can access just the latest data. It s
possible, on the other hand, that your table is usually accessed by a column with distinct values, such
as a department id, in which case it might be better to use list partitioning, or you could have a
composite partition, such as a range list partition, such as organizing the partitions by department id
and a date. There is a drawback to partitioning in that you have to specify each of the partitions. If you

  • 3. Human Nature Establishes Political Authority Now that we have an understanding of the three different accounts of the state of nature, it is important to understand the differing accounts of how human nature establishes political authority. Hobbes believes that because the state of nature is a constant state of war, the role of government must be to protect the people to protect people from themselves. Therefore, the purpose of political authority is to enforce law and order, and that the purpose of government is to control and be authoritative and should not be responsible for representing the people. Hobbes believes that you must give up your natural rights for peace. In the social contract man give up their rights to the state, but the social contract can only be signed among those who are equal as it is a contract established by the enforcer. Locke has a differing view that the establishment of political authority is to ensure that men have their property rights protected. Locke believes that the greatest purpose that men have for society is to be able to use their property, and to do safe while doing so. Therefore, Locke believes that the most important positive law that society should establish is the right to legislative power. To be governed under legislative power means that the government has to have the consent of the people. By having a government that is accountable to the people they represent, it will protect the people being governed against oppression, a government that has the consent of the people ... Decisions that have made the world how it is today have happened in is very city which was named after the first president of the United States. As important as the city itself is, its development is just as important. That is why, in the following, we will explore how Washington D.C. came to be the great city it is today. The National Mall consists of the Capitol Building, the Washington Monument, and the Lincoln Memorial. First, we will talk about the Washington Monument. The Washington Monument is a stone obelisk over 500 feet tall and is the centerpiece of the National Mall. The monument is also made out of 40,000 marble and granite blocks and is the tallest freestanding structure in the world. You might ask yourself; What is holding this structure together? The answer is the monuments weight. After six years of construction on the monument, the project ran out of money because of the young nation going to civil war. The monument was only 150 feet in the air at this point. Twenty four years later, 1878, construction once again began on the Washington Monument. Thomas Lincoln Casey was the head engineer on the construction, but was faced with a problem right away because the original blocks were not available anymore. That is why the bottom portion of the structure is a different shade than the top portion. Casey had another problem; Congress could not reach a decision on how the Monument should be ... • 7. Deployment And Integration In The Military Family Deployment and integration is one the greatest challenges military families and children have to face on a daily basis. When a family member deploys or reintegrates within the entire family, it not only affects the service member but it affects the entire family. Deployment can often lead to families and children, experiencing a negative mental health outcomes and compromised wellbeing. Bello (2015) found that most families and children (80.5% required less than one month to adjust to the return of their deployed parent (Bello, 2015). Accordingly, the families and children are often quick to adjust to having their family member back in the home. Interestingly, discoveries are surprising in light of the fact that when contrasted to another family, the discoveries are definitely unique. Boberiene (2014) found that three out of every four families feel that reintegration after the first three months is the most stressful phase of a deployment (Boberiene, 2014). This is because the family experiences many emotions while the member is away. It appears that, families and children didn t require as much time to adjust to reintegration as much as the families did in Bobriene s (2014) study. It may be that all families and children handle reintegration differently and some may require more time than others. The results in Boberiene s (2014) study is similar to what Chandra (2009) had said about families and children, she stated that the number of months for deployment had a huge ... Although throughout history the Church has found herself confronted with controversy, pain and the imperfect nature of humanity, these moments often brought opportunities for God to manifest Himself in ways that continue to impact Catholics today. There are so many rich and beautiful articulations of the Catholic faith around the world, which not take away from the universiality of the Church, but rather displays it. St. Paul encouraged this as he founded churches in different areas, guiding them through the unique challenges of each culture. This is shown in his letters, as each carries a special significance to those whom he directly addressed (i.e. Letter to the Romans, Letter to the Hebrews). Even so, they still apply to us today. His theological insights into the life and teachings of Christ are the foundation upon which many of doctrines stand, including the Catholic understanding of suffering in union with Christ. Also, St. Paul s own conversion from persecutor to apostle powerfully reminds us that it is never too late to turn to Christ. My birthday is the feast of St. Paul s conversion. Personally, St. Paul s teachings, written two thousand years ago, still speak truth into my life, inspiring me daily to trust that where sin abounded, grace abounds all the more. 2 The Marian apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe occured during a difficult time for Christianity. A computer can be defined as a machine that manipulates data according to a list of instructions (Oxford). According to Webster dictionary a computer is defined as a programmable usually electronic device that can store, retrieve, and process data (Merriam Webster). Whether it be a laptop, desk top, tablet or phone, it is essential to learn about computers in order to function in the 21st century. Computers are found everywhere in society. They make locating and processing data much easier and efficient. Computers allow entities such as hospitals or businesses to process information rapidly with the click of a button. • 12. The Killer Whale And The Whale s Dolphin Family A killer whale is a toothed whale belonging to the ocean s dolphin family. The killer whale can also be referred to as the orca whale or an orca. The killer whale belongs with the ocean s family of dolphins, it s the largest member of the dolphin family. The whale weighs approximately up to eight thousand eight hundred pounds and it can grow up to twenty eight feet in length. In this essay I will be presenting the many factors that are included in a killer whale such as, stereotypes, intelligence, foraging and feeding, living in groups, different types, appearance, and their life cycle. Mammal eating killer whales typically travel in much smaller groups then fish eating whales, presumably because there is some advantage to doing so. For killer whales hunting harbor seals, individual food intake rates are highest for individuals in groups of three, that is, three appears to be an optimal group size for foraging. Killer whales generally choose to attack young or weak animals, however a group of five or more may attack a healthy adult. Killer whales work together to force the fish from deep water up to near the surface where they are easier to catch. Killer whales are highly social; some populations are composed of matrilineal family groups, which are the most stable of any animal group. Another commonly cited example of a benefit group living for various species of whales or dolphins is babysitting or allomothering. The killer whale consists of three different types of ... Pictures of Hollis Woods is warm hearted story, which stresses the importance of artistic vision, creativity, and above all family. Although there are many highlights to the novel there are also many despairing and despondent events and occurrences as well. There is a main conflict that keeps on building through the whole entire story. This conflict messes with Hollis brain. After the accident on The Old Man s mountain, Hollis chose to run away which was completely her fault, she caused the conflict but chose to try her best to solve it. Since Hollis had ran from the Regan s, Izzy, Steven, and The Old Man, Hollis had to stay with an elderly woman with short term memory loss named Josie. • 16. The Cold War Era Essay example The Cold War Era Works Cited Missing The late 1940s to the mid 1980s the American society saw what could quite possibly be titled the biggest technological effect on society. This era, The Cold War, was a period in which fear of attack or invasion and a need to be superior reigned in the American society. It led to the development of space technology, during the Space Race, communication systems, and military technology in what has been appropriately deemed the Arms Race. On October 4, 1957 [1] a huge change concerning technology in society occurred. On this date, the United Soviet Socialists Republic (USSR) launched Sputnik into outer space. NASA was not engineering in a new field; the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) and other government organizations had been working on the idea of space flight. These organizations were subsequently pulled into NASA upon its creation. [3] The main focus became developing technology that was steady enough and strong enough to support human life in space. The act of simply launching a rocket into space had been achieved over ten years before when Nazi Germany launched its first successful V 2 rocket in October 1942. The V 2 (Vengeance Weapon 2) rocket was built to shoot warheads at targets from a long range. [4] With the disastrous ability of the V 2 in mind, when Sputnik was launched, the fear of ICBMs (Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles) became a very prevalent part of American society. Families built bomb shelters in their backyards and stocked them with non perishable goods to help them sustain life if they were ever attacked. Students and employees practiced air raid drills by crawling under desks and tables. An imminent fear of attack hung heavily in the air causing such historical events as the Bay of Pigs and the Cuban Missile Crisis. • 17. Argumentative Essay On Student Debt Student Debt. Few words drive more fear into the hearts of parents and teenagers alike. With college graduates now owing more than $1.5 trillion in debt and nearly five million Americans in student loan default, borrowing for higher education is quickly spiralling out of control. Universities are one of the best places for wholesome instruction, but what good are these institutions when no one can pay for their resources? In order to alleviate the problem, many politicians have proposed plans to make all public college tuition free for students under a set income threshold. Although it may seem like just the solution that is needed, making college tuition free, even for a select group of students, is not the best option and would fail to solve the fundamental cause of the student debt crisis in the first place. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In just fiscal year 2014 alone, public colleges collected over $58 billion in tuition, nearly double the $31 billion the government already spends on grants for institutions. To simply waive $58 billion would necessitate a dramatic increase in government spending to compensate, and, by extension, a dramatic increase in taxes. Not all students at all colleges have troubles with debt, either. The majority of students who have problems paying off their student loans are those who attended small for profit schools or community colleges, as those who attend more expensive schools, despite borrowing more, often end up with higher salaries once they enter the job market. Moreover, what would be done about those who have already graduated from community college with debt on their shoulders? Waiving tuition for all public universities would not resolve these problems; instead, the burden would merely be shifted to taxpayers, hindering economic growth and leaving those with existing debt out of ... It is almost scary to see how accurate Huxley s far fetched fantasies came to be. When Huxley wrote about the conformity, drug use and sex and technology of the society, he was almost pinpoint exact to predicting today s societies. Unfortunately, all of these things haven t exactly changed our society today for the better. It is amazing to see how accurately Aldous Huxley was in his predictions to human conformity today. The real world in which we live is not much different from this that Huxley writes about in the 1930 s. Technological developments have already allowed us to create embryos outside of the womb. The values that once existed in religion and family are slowly but surely disappearing. Even today, the vast majority of America and the world have lessened their beliefs, their worshiping of God and practicing religion. Hitler came into power by capitalising on world wide events such as the great depression in 1929 resulting from the Wall Street crash. He began spreading his ideals of anti semitism to the German population in preparation for the Final Solution , which became known as the Holocaust with the assistance of propaganda, violence, and an economic boycott. Most of the impacts resulting from his methods proved to be extremely valuable to the success of the preparation as they efficiently and effectively brainwashed a hateful image of the Jewish population into the minds of the German people and aligned them with Hitler s ideals of anti Semitism. However, some of his methods did were not valuable to preparing the German people as they were not able to depict a hateful image of the Jews. Propaganda was arguably one of the most effective ways for ideas to be spread around rapidly, In his autobiography, Mien Kampf, Hitler states: Propaganda tries to force a doctrine on the whole people..... Judges narrates the Israelites continual decline in morality and their downward spiral away from God, through the accounts of the judges, minor judges, and individuals. While many people use the book of judges to teach courage and strength, it would be more accurately described as a book of brokenness and terror. The book of Judges begins with a prologue. He delivered them from the Moabite king, Eglon, and the land experienced 80 years of rest. Shamgar is the next judge in the narrative. The striking difference seen here is Shamgar does not have a semitic name or any tribe affiliation, so it is possible that the Israelites were delivered by a Gentile. The next judge, Deborah, is the only woman judge mentioned. She is also said to have been a prophetess, and a judge with actual judicial function, instead of a military leader. Businesses were showing great profits during the 1920 s, however the working class only got a small portion of this wealth with their low wages. People with low incomes purchased merchandise on credit. People thought that they had more money to spend on materialistic possessions using credit. Advertising increased, enticing people with the buy now, pay later slogan which in turn caused many consumers to accumulate so much debt that were unable to keep up with payments on the items they purchased, and they were repossessed. Once the slowing of manufactured goods occurred, inventory accumulated and there was a backlog of purchasing merchandise which caused even less spending that didn t help the economy. Another problem contributing to the Depression was the epic drought that occurred in 1930. During WWI, thousands of farmers migrated to the Great Plains area because of its rich ... • 34. Importance Of Erformance Tuning And Partitioning erformance tuning and partitioning go hand in hand, in that partitioning is one you can take to tune performance from a database level, so I will start out with explaining tuning and then go into detail about partitioning. Performance tuning can take place from a DBA perspective, at the full database level, or from a Developer perspective, on the level of individual packages/procedures/functions and SQL queries. Before initiating performance tuning, you need to know where your performance bottlenecks are. There are a number of ways a DBA can determine where the bottlenecks are, including AWR reports, which can show the DBA what areas show the highest wait times. Once the specific SQL statements or PL/SQL code has been targeted, we can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once a table is partitioned, it is easier and faster to access the data in the table, because a query can access just one or a group of partitions on the table, rather than accessing all of the data in the parent table. You can even specify a partition to use in your query. Queries can also work in parallel on the table, running through multiple partitions at once, which is especially helpful if you find you can t avoid a full table scan. So, even if your partitions aren t set up logically to your query, there is a performance improvement to partitioning. There are several options for the type of partitioning you can do. One common method is to partition by a range of data, for instance a date range. This is helpful if your table has a lot of historical data, and only the newest data is normally accessed or updated, rather than accessing ALL of the historical data, you can access just the latest data. It s possible, on the other hand, that your table is usually accessed by a column with distinct values, such as a department id, in which case it might be better to use list partitioning, or you could have a composite partition, such as a range list partition, such as organizing the partitions by department id and a date. There is a drawback to partitioning in that you have to specify each of the partitions. If you ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
