Good Topics To Write An Essay About
Writing an essay on the topic "Good Topics To Write An Essay About" presents a peculiar
challenge, as it requires a certain level of irony and self-awareness. The difficulty lies in the irony
of attempting to explore the notion of what constitutes a good essay topic while simultaneously
navigating the vast landscape of potential subjects. The task involves a delicate balance between
humor and seriousness, as one must acknowledge the inherent paradox in attempting to define
what makes a topic "good."
Furthermore, the writer must grapple with the subjective nature of the term "good," recognizing
that what may be a compelling subject for one person could be entirely uninteresting to another.
This subjective element adds a layer of complexity to the essay, as the author must carefully
navigate the fine line between objectivity and personal bias.
The irony deepens as the writer delves into the challenge of selecting a topic that not only
appeals to a broad audience but also maintains a level of originality. The struggle to find a
unique angle on the subject becomes evident, as the essay itself becomes a self-referential
exploration of the complexities inherent in the process of choosing a topic.
As the essay progresses, the writer may find themselves questioning the very foundation of the
assignment, pondering the arbitrary nature of deeming certain topics as "good." The journey
becomes a meta-reflection on the inherent challenges and contradictions in the essay-writing
process, transforming the task into a self-aware exploration of the writer's own struggles and
doubts.
In the end, without explicitly revealing the chosen topic, the essay subtly hints at the vast
resources available for assistance. The mention of ordering similar essays and more on
HelpWriting.net suggests a solution for those grappling with the intricacies of essay writing. It
adds a touch of practicality to the otherwise ironic and self-aware exploration of the challenges
associated with writing an essay on the seemingly simple topic of "Good Topics To Write An

Discuss The Role Of Cultural Factors In Raising Children
There are many cultural factors that come into play in the raising of children. One
major factor is the role of the mother and father in early childhood interactions.
Kathleen Berger points to the obvious differences between the way mothers and
fathers interact with their young children. She states that mothers tend to caress,
read, sing... where as fathers tend to swing the baby through the air (Berger 146).
What is more, mothers tend to stay home from work to raise the children more than
fathers (Berger 154). Yet the best case scenario in raising children is for a father and
motherto both be involved. One such evidence is sited by Berger when she states,
Close father infant relationships can teach infants (especially boys) appropriate
Lobsterman Monument Dbq
There are many monuments in the world and they are all built to honor someone or
something that was done by that person. For example, after the Maine Lobsterman
was built, the fake bronze statue returned to Maine and spent several decades being
moved from city hall to museum to museum. No one seemed to want the man and his
lobster. The issue at hand is if the monuments being built are memorializing the
person or moment created accurately. Monuments capture legacy and preserve the
individual s actions throughout history. Specifically, monuments should consider
purpose, location, and size in their creation.
The purpose of many monuments is to honor and protect the legacy of some of
America s greatest heroes. Kirk Savage in the book Monument ... Show more content

Charles Duhigg The Power Of Habit Summary
Habits have always been part of every human s lives and they the will always
influence and control what people do. Charles Duhigg does an excellent job of
explaining this in his book, The Power Of Habit. However, Charles Duhigg s intent
for writing this book isn t to just explain what habits are and how they work, he also
explains how to be aware of them, how to work with them and how to change them.
Charles Duhigg s purpose for writing The Power Of Habit, is to not just inform the
reader about what habits are and how they form and work, but to also persuade the
reader to notice their habits and to change their old and bad habits to form new,
positive habits in order to gain control and succeed in their life. He accomplishes this
purpose... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now, instead of the author directly stating this in his book, he had to put it in an
allegory. The author brings up a story by David Foster Wallace about some fish
swimming in water. It goes, There are these two young fish swimming along and
they happen to meet an older fish swimming the other way, who nods at them and
says, Morning, boys, How s the water? The young fish swim on for a bit before one
finally asks the other what water is. (274) Now an allegory is typically used to
hide or hold a hidden, deeper meaning, and that s exactly what s going on here with
the fish story that the author includes. You see, people will go through their lives not
noticing the habits that they use and go through with in their life. The author uses
this fish tale to show how many people will go swimming through a world that s
filled with habits and none of them even realise it. The author wants people to notice
their habits in their life, because once you notice and realize that you have a habit,
you will then be able to change them and form new and better habits over
Essay about Warren G. Harding, President
Warren G. Harding, President
(1865 1923)
Harding was born on November 2, 1865, in Corsica (now Bloomington Grove),
Ohio. He was eldest of eight children. His father, George Tryon Harding, was a
farmer and a doctor. His mother, Phoebe Dickerson Harding, was a gentle, pious
woman who devoted herself to her children.
As a boy Warren helped his fater on the farm. In the summer he worked in a
sawmill that made brooms, and he drove a team of horses for the Toledo and Ohio
Central Railroaad. His father was later quoted as saying , Warren was always
willing to work hard if there was any money in it. Later Warren would become a

His partners soon dropped out, leaving him in control of the Star. The Star wasn t
popular so the young owner/editor talked the local industries into advertising their
goods in it. Around this time Harding started courting Mrs. Floronce King De Wolfe,
a widow, against her fathers wishes. They later married in 1891.
As the Star became more successful, Harding became more popular. He was a
director of the county bank, a trustie of the local Baptist church, and an active
member in many social orginazations. In 1898, Harding won an election as a
Republican to the Ohio State Senate. In 1902 he was elected lieutenant governor of
Ohio and served for two years. Harding left politics temporarily, to concentrate on
the Star. In 1910 he returned to polotics to run for governor of Ohio and lost. In 1914
he was elected into Senate.
He looks like a president! stated Harry Daugherty, an Ohio admirer, a few months
before the 1920 Republican convention in Chicago. He made this remark while

Harding seriously due to his modest back ground. But because he couldn t be

Tupac Amaru Shakur s Change Essay
The cry of injustice has become louder and louder and those people who are
knowledgeable about their ancestral history, feel hopelessness in the midst of this
unfortunate rebirth of the New Jim Crow. Their hopelessness is further fed and
satisfied by the powers that be who arrange for African Americans to be unable to
escape the extreme cycle of poverty forcing them to adapt the best way they can to
their current situation; whether that be murdering someone like yourself or selling
narcotics. Tupac Amaru Shakur, wrote the famous song Changes in 1992 but it was
released after he was murdered, in October 1998. Tupac exposes the reality of
commonly ignored societal ills such as racism, classism, and discrimination and
establishes that unity is the only way out. Through the use of juxtaposition, allusion
and call to action, Tupac illustrates his thoughts on racial desperation and its
correlation to overarching racism during the period of social unrest in the United
States and the importance of establishing a united front to fight back. Although
written more than twenty four years ago, currently we are facing a heightened
cultural climate in the United States and the relevancy of Tupac s song Changes is
more than necessary. Tupac has become a spokesperson of not only his generation,
but current American society. Tupac Amaru Shakur was born on June 16, 1971 in
East Harlem, New York, in the United States. Tupac was the top rapper of his time,
not only for his music, but also

Essay on Community Policing and Problem-Oriented
Policing
Although many may find community policing and problem oriented policing to fall
in the same category, there is (surprisingly) a difference between the two. For one,
community policing has many definitions. For some, it means instituting foot and
bicycle patrols and doing acts pertaining to the ideal bond between policeofficers and
their community. While for others it means maintaining order and cleaning up
neighborhoods in desperate need of repair (Dunham Alpert, 2005). However, an
idyllic definition of community policing is altering the traditional definition of crime
control to community problem solving and promising to transform the way police do
their job. Within the past two decades, there has been much research on community...

Plus, the concept of problem oriented policing involves interaction with the public
just as community policing does. So where is the difference? POP emphasizes on
research more than any other aspect of policing. Not only is it a strategy, but it is
also an approach to policing in which distinct parts of police business are subject to
microscopic examination in hopes that what is learned about each problem will lead
to discovering a new and more effective strategy for dealing with it (Goldstein,
2001). This all started in the late 1970 s (circa the beginning of community policing)
when researchers, police professionals, and policymakers became interested in
improving the efficiency of policing. Their research uncovered these findings: (1)
police deal with a range of community problems, many of which are not strictly
criminal in nature, (2) arrest and prosecution alone the traditional functions of the
criminal justice system do not always effectively resolve problems, (3) giving the
officers, who have great insight into community problems, the discretion to design
solutions is extremely valuable to solving the problems, (4) police can use a variety
of methods to redress recurrent problems, and (5) the community values police
involvement in non criminal problems and recognizes the contribution the
Downtown Yonge Business Improvement Area (BIA)
Transportation is the method that a traveler uses to move from one location to
another. Congested urban environments makes transportation a challenge. Since they
generally consist of high density structures, activities and people. Due to the
congested nature of urban environments, people who live and travel in these areas
generally have various methods of transportation which may include; walking, driving
a personal vehicle, riding a bike, as well as public transportation, such as trains. The

Currently, The City of Toronto has implemented several infrastructures and services
to create a more sustainable method of transportation for individuals in urban
environments, such as the Downtown Yonge Business Improvement Area. Some of
which are done by discouraging the use of personal vehicles by limiting the numbers
of parking spaces available, as well as implementing traffic signal synchronization
and ramp metering. Many of these services have improved the congestion in Toronto
significantly, however, due to the increasing population, the past improvements are
not enough. The higher population in Toronto makes the land that is available more
expensive and as a result, more people tend to have to move to new towns or
suburban areas. Therefore, cities need to improve transportation services that are
already available or they must create new and efficient transportation services to
allow for better commuting (Farahani et al., 2013). Many people who commute to
Toronto tend to rely on their personal automobile. Studies have shown that in the past
two decades, travel by automobiles is the main method of transportation used in the
Global Toronto Area (Abulibdeh, 2014). This is due to variety of reasons, some of
which includes the comfort, speed and convenience one receives by driving a vehicle.

Otto Von Bismarck Realpolitik German Unification
By the early 1800s the Germany we know today was constructed of 39 independent
states the largest of which was Prussia. These states shared similar culture and
industry which in turn brought them closer together. Though this caused a problem in
Europe since they thought unified Germany would be too powerful. At the time there
was one main leader for German unification, Otto von Bismarck. He followed a
philosophy known as realpolitik, a system of politics principles based on practical
rather than more moral or ideological considerations. Bismarck United the various
kingdoms of German into one unified state. He started three wars to accomplish his
goal but after unification he successfully maintained peace in europe. This unified
Germanyone of the most militarily dominant nation in Europe.
Bismarck had near absolute control over his country, and when he resigned his
power is passed on to his successors. The following German leaders would ignore
The philosophy of realpolitik and favor of militaristic illusions. Otto von Bismarck
utilized his leadership as well as philosophy of realpolitik to unify Germany and
maintain peace in Europe. Subsequent German leaders would disregard Bismarck s
ideals, as his obsession with individual power failed to create a long lasting germany.
Thus leaving to a tainted legacy.

German people and were loosely united under the German Confederation led by

The Twilight Zone And Full House
Introduction
The Twilight Zone and Full House are both two family sitcom television series
expressing one group as a family to meet or reflect society. Full House, produced
by Jeff Franklin, is a family who faces many struggles and obstacles that reflect
many American s in today s society. The Twilight Zone, produced by Rod Serling, is
a five season television series taken place in the 1950 s. This shows provides multiple
genres in each episode followed by an unexpected plot twist leaving audiences
thinking more in depth about the present time. Both television shows demonstrates
family values and social norms to meet modern societies expectations through
rationality.

Current Health Status Of Cambodia
This paper discusses the current health status of Cambodia, and the factors that
influence it. These factors include the healthcare systems and national expenditures
for healthcare, ethnic diversity and cultural factors, gender equality, communicable
and noncommunicable diseases, technology in global health, and health policies.
Cambodia, overall, has seen a major improvement in recent years following the
Khmer Rouge, with major strides especially in economic growth, education, and
some communicable diseases. However, Cambodia still struggles in some areas due
to it s lack of infrastructure, making areas like improving access to healthcare and
decreasing poverty difficult. If Cambodia wishes to improve in all areas, it will need
to focus on using its fast economic growth to help improve its infrastructure.
Healthcare in Cambodia and Its Impact on Cambodians I will be doing an in depth
analysis on the urbanization, education, work conditions, income status, and access
to health services on the health of Cambodia. I think these determinants are very
important in understanding the health challenges Cambodia faces. At 8.4%
Cambodia has one of the highest urbanization rates in the world (The World Bank,
2015), yet it s urban infrastructure is limited and outdated, making urbanization a
major obstacle for the health of Cambodians . Less than half of Cambodian
adolescents are enrolled in secondary school (NGO Education Partnership, 2015), and
this is important
Cheeseburger Debate Summary
1. Does the Cheeseburger Bill benefits the fast food chains or is it more for the
benefits of the consumers? How?
The American Personal Responsibility in Food Consumption Act, commonly called
the Cheeseburger Bill, protects producers and retailers of food and non alcoholic
drinks from lawsuits and class action suits arising from obesity claims. This bill is
more of a benefit to the fast food chains, than the consumer. The bill protects the the
producers and sellers for consumers not taking their own responsibility with regard to
their consumption intake. This bill protects the companies that provide millions of
jobs to citizens. Consumers should take responsibility and use common sense when it
comes to consumption and their and in this the bill is also beneficial to the consumer
because it makes them more responsible.

In a comparative fault system, a plaintiff s negligence that contributes to causing the
plaintiff s damages will not prevent recovery, but instead only will reduce the amount
of damages the plaintiff can recover. For example the courts might find McDonalds
to be 30% responsible so that will have to pay 30% of intended claim. However,
McDonalds must found guilty of fault aside from the fault of being the producer
/seller of the product. Contributory fault can pressure corporations to take sufficient
precautions protecting their consumers from harmful products.
3. Should every state establish strict or total liability ? Why?
Yes they should. Every state allows legal claims based on common law strict
liability, but only states with a dog bite statute add an additional cause of action for
statutory strict liability. Violation of a dog bite statute results in strict liability, not
negligence or negligence per se

The Effect Of Temperature And Ph Levels On Enzyme

How Do Changes in Temperature and pH Levels Affect Enzyme Activity? Lab Report
In biology class, we ve learned that sugars produce energy and to use sugars to gain
energy, an organism needs a proper enzyme should exist to break it down the
chemical bonds of the sugar. Enzymes and proteins are important in organisms
because they are involved in most chemical reactions that take place inside of an
organism. Our example of an important enzyme was catalase, which breaks down
H2O2. H2O2 is a natural by product and toxic. When H2O2 contacts catalase, it
breaks down into water and oxygen. Our group got curious about how changes in
temperature and pH levels affect enzyme activity. Since enzymes are group of
protein and protein can break easily by acid, base, and hot temperature. To
experiment our question, we used catalase solution, 3% H2O2 solution, 0.1 M
HCl solution, 0.1 M NaOH solution, a beaker, an O2 gas sensor, sensor interface
on a Chromebook, pH paper, and safety gloves. Therefore, we conducted
experiments to test how enzyme activity in different conditions. Plus, we predicted
that if temperature increases or enzyme have contacts with acid or base, enzyme
activity will decrease. We held four controlled experiments which are controller,
temperature, HCl Acid, and NaOH Base. We controlled the amount of catalase to 10
mL and H2O2 solution to 4 mL. First we mixed catalase with H2O2 solution and
used O2 sensor to gather
Thought Worlds In The Film Get The Gringo
Throughout the course we have understood that thought worlds are seen in terms of
the attitudes, belief systems, and assumptions of a given society or people, which
shape the aspect of American culture such as drug trafficking, racism, and etc. In
terms of thought worlds I was able to incorporate my understanding of the meaning
into a filmI watched, Get the Gringo (2012). The film shares the racial stereotypical
aspect of Mexicos prison and the misconception of fake police and society being
protected by criminals. The film Gringo was produced, co written, and starred by
Mel Gibson. The film opens with Gibson (Gringo) driving a getaway car with a
clown mask and his accomplice is in the backseat sounded from American police
while heading towards the Mexican border. Gibson crashes through the border
fence, and he is arrested by corrupt Mexican police officers, Vasquez and Romero
when they find $2 million in the car and Gibson was incarcerated into El Pueblito
prison under false charges and keeping the cash for themselves. Now in the film, El
Pueblito is described more as a small ghetto town like than a prison. Then Gibson
met a kid who lives with his incarcerated mother. The kid wanted to kill the leader,
Javi that runs El Pueblito for killing his father. At the end of... Show more content on

Childhood Vaccinations In America
Vaccinations 101
Vaccinations were once part of every childhood in America, helping to drastically
reduce our risk of acquiring diseases like diphtheria, measles, polio and whooping
cough, though organizations like the Vaccine Resistance Movement are working hard

The American Health Association has also been working hard to remind Americans
that without vaccinations throughout our population, preventable and serious
diseases could once again rise in our schools and homes. Indeed a recent outbreak of
measles in Minnesota is but one of recent outbreaks in developed countries.

Gender Stereotypes And Expectations In Literature
Everyone knows that boys only want one thing, and girls, above all else, must protect
their virtue. Society, through such means as literature, popular culture, and tradition,
has perpetuated these gender stereotypes and expectations for much of history.
Unconscious and conscious assumptions about gendershape how readers perceive sex
in literature; men are typically considered lustful, whereas women are considered
loving. However, the subjects of sex, love, and lust in literature, as demonstrated in
poems written by Robert Burns and Andrew Marvell, become increasingly nuanced
when gender stereotypes and expectations are questioned and removed. Gender roles,
expectations, and stereotypes have shifted and become less clearly defined... Show

He says that the youthful hue / sits on [her] skin like morning dew, but that this fresh
beauty will soon fade (Marvell 584; 33 34).
The description of this woman supports stereotypes of both genders. The man is
lustful, and his tactic is to appeal to the woman s shallow vanity. He appeals to her
desire for love by almost offhandedly tacking on how he would like to know her heart
(Marvell 583; 18). Additionally, he says that, should they act upon his lustful desires,
they would be like amorous birds of prey (Marvell 584; 38). The contradictory image
of loving raptors enforces the stereotype of a predatory man spouting any lovely lie
to get a woman in his bed. A Red, Red Rose by Robert Burns is not as overtly sexual
as To His Coy Mistress. However, Burns was notoriously promiscuous, and his
subject matter was often of a sexual nature. It is safe to say that his purpose in this
poem was a sexual purpose. He says his luve s like a red, red rose / that s newly
sprung in June (Burns 935; 1 2). He also describes his love as a beautiful song
being sweetly played in tune (Burns 935; 1 2). He uses this flowery language to
appeal to women s stereotypical love for beauty and emotion. He additionally
appeals to an overemotional woman by using hyperbolic language to describe his
love. He claims that he will love this woman until all the seas dry up and the rocks
melt wi the sun

It was apparent that they had exchanged conversations maybe several times in the

That was the first interaction I witnessed that day, between the attendant and a

second example took place in the Mexican restaurant, Los Taquitos, and the
interaction I observed was between a young women and an older male. The

Analyzing The Association Between The Emotional Stroop...
Words Have Feelings Too

Howard University
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the association between the emotional stroop
with trait and state anxiety. Researchers chose a cluster of eight random female
students in an experimental psychology course to complete an STAI form and online
emotional stroop test. By filling out and participating in the prior stated procedures,
researchers would be able to determine if cognitive processes are linked to emotional
disorders. The STAI forms determined the state and trait anxietyscores of each
individual participant. The emotional stroop test assessed emotions by keeping time

There is anxiety that is only situational, state anxiety, and anxiety that is general, trait
anxiety. Researchers in this study wanted to know if state and trait anxiety could
calculate a correlation coefficient with the emotional stroop. They also wanted to
identify whether trait or state anxiety would have a stronger association with
performance on the emotional stroop. Researchers hypothesized that both state and
trait anxiety would be able to be calculated with a strong, positive correlation
coefficient and that state anxiety would have a stronger association with performance
on the emotional stroop. Previous studies have shown that there is no correlation
between a high ordered construct and the time it takes on an emotion stroop test. In a
study conducted by Klug and Matthews (1993), results showed that general
emotionality was not important in predicting the extent of interference for color
naming emotional words. Brosschot and Ruiter (1994) found the emotional stroop to
be bias in anxiety states. If not bias by the emotional stroop, then bias by the
participants with anxiety. A study found that participants in various phobic groups try
to suppress their high anxiety when taking the emotional stroop test (Amir et al,
1996). Few prior studies involving anxiety and the emotional stroop have a significant
interference. Egloff and Hock (2001) found that only for individuals who have high

LTAD in Hockey
Hockey encompasses what it means to be Canadian, from the professional stage of
the NHL to your first minor hockey week we have connected the sport with such
fond memories. No matter what the sport may be most Canadians promote physical
activity where it be hockey, football, soccer, rugby or any other type of activity that
celebrates living a healthy lifestyle. Even though organized hockeyhas been around
since the early twentieth century there has been much investigation into athletic
development in connection with the sport. Not until recently has the investigation
behind combining a proper fundamental framework for optimum sport development
be utilized. We now know this model to be the Long TermAthlete Development
mode, or the LTAD. This model in it consists of seven unique stages that ensure not
only educated athletes but coaches as well to identify and prepare accordingly for
each corresponding stage. The LTAD is broken down into these steps Active Star,
FUNdamentals, Learn to Train, Train to Train, Train to Compete, Train to Win and
Active for Life. In the following investigation I plan to share my own knowledge
from my own experiences playing over twenty years of hockey from recreational
community to more of an elite level. I ve also volunteered some of my own time to
coach and train athletes in hockey, I have used and been taught the LTAD model
numerous times throughout my involvement with hockey. Hopefully using some

Essay On User Profiling
User Profiling: A Survey from Modeling to Personalization Abstract The growth of
the available information on the web and the diversity of its users is a valuable
resource for personalization. The user profile includes the essential information about
the user and it is an outcome of the user profiling process. Building and maintaining
dynamic user profile is the main challenge in developing an effective personalized
application. Many research projects and companies are interesting in developing
modeling systems and personalizing user s interaction with the system. We examine
what information is being modeled for presenting various user models, how this

It may include demographic information, e.g., name, age, country, education level,

gathering information about user s interests, constructing, maintaining and using user
profiles. For example in e business systems, it captures online users characteristics,
knows online users, provides customized products and services, and therefore
improve user satisfaction. There are two approaches in user modeling process. These
are the generation of an initial user profile for a new user and the continuous update
of the profile information to adapt user s changing preferences, interests and needs. A
major challenge within user profiling is how user profiles can be constructed that
accurately reflects users preferences. User profiling techniques have widely applied
in various web search, user adaptive software systems, web user identification,
personalization, recommendation, e market analysis, intelligent tutoring systems,
intelligent agents, as well as personalized information retrieval and filtering. The
personalized systems require some information about users in order to learn and
respond to their interests and needs. The motivation of building user profiles is that

Fun with Dick and Jane Essay
Fun with Dick and Jane (2005)
Starring: Jim Carrey, Tea Leoni, and Alec Baldwin
In need of some light hearted entertainment and a good laugh, I chose the movie
Fun with Dick and Jane for this assignment. Fun with Dick and Jane asks the
common question, What is the difference between a corporate crook and a bank
robber? The movie opens with Dick leaving his home in the picture perfect
neighborhood in the year 2000. Dick is married to Jane and they have a son who is
more or less being raised by the housekeeper, Blanca. The family is living in a
culture of high powered, high paying jobs, high tech appliances and high stress
living. Dick and Jane have it all and they can t get enough of it.
The first ethical issue that is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This movie provides sarcastic contradictions about morality and the ethics of crime.
For one short lived moment, Dick contemplates prostituting Jane for income but of
course because this is a light hearted comedy Jane becomes furious with this
suggestion. Not long after her outrage she turns to burglary willingly. Burglary, just
like prostitution, is illegal, immoral, and demoralizing. Unlike prostitution, which is
a misdemeanor, burglary is a felony. These two criminals are portrayed as good
people just trying to feed their son and keep their house, yet the same good guys in
the audience who would frown on prostitution, enthusiastically support burglary as a
practical comedic maneuver. Yet, if Dick and Jane are on the path of immorality, as
conveyed by their society s parameters, they might as well have went with
prostitution as a way to make money. With Jane being such an amazing looking
woman, she could have easily earned thousands of dollars a day escorting swanky
businessmen, thus attaining the goal of quick cash less unlawfully.
The movie snidely communicates to us that dressing up as Sonny and Cher to
commit armed robbery, or taking your neighbor s car and driving it through a
jewelry store window is less shameful than selling your body. The definition of
robbery is the act of robbing from a person or presence of another by violence or
threat which is considered a felony; prostituting or escorting
Essences Of The Groundwork
This problem became the one of essences of the GroundworkпјЊAs Thomas hills
argues that Kant s aims in the groundwork are not primarily to illustrate how to apply
his formulas to particular problems, but to the basic presuppositions of practical
reason, or to transform his research weight from first critique to second critique.
Since the question on emptiness charge must be taken on more practical responses, it
seems to me Kant has undoubtedly realized this and attempted to mingle the
theoretical and practical issues in Groundwork. For example in order to disentangle
practical and transcendental freedom, Kant introduces another doctrine in the third
section of Groundwork. This doctrine is essentially the same as one finds in the First
Critique:... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Perhaps such absence is for some purpose. Considering that Kant s initial concern is
to clarify the problems of freedom rather than the particularities of the moral law,
perhaps, given the synthesis of the three formulations in the second section of the
Groundwork, Kant might consider it unnecessary to modify CI yet again. By the
time of the Second Critique, he engages in a rather careful explication of the moral
law in which he does not offer a clear definition of the moral law, since it appears
that providing the theoretical ground for the moral law is
Examples Of Sexism In The Princess And The Frog
I chose to analyze the movie The Princess and the Frog since I knew how sexist
Disney princess movies in the past, such as Cinderella and Snow White and the
Seven Dwarves, have been, but also the interesting twists that try to hide sexism in
the more modern tales. The Princess and The Frog really is a classic Disney love
story. Tiana is a woman in New Orleans who dreams of one day running her own
popular restaurant along the Mississippi River. Prince Naveen travels to New
Orleans with the sole purpose of marrying a rich woman to reclaim his part of his
family s fortune. His greed is his downfall when he seeks the services of Dr.
Facilier, a voodoo man who turns him into a frog and turns his servant, Lawrence,
into the prince. In a chance meeting at a masquerade ball, Tiana and frog Naveen
meet. Naveen promises to pay for Tiana s restaurant if she would kiss him to turn
him back into a human. Tiana relents, kisses him, and then is also turned into a frog.
It is a race against time for them to find a way to turn themselves back into humans....

This stereotype is somewhat true since Prince Naveen is turned into a frog, fulfilling
the animal part. The only way that he can go back to being human in the film is by
kissing a princess. The fact that the kiss has to happen between a male and a
female emphasizes the standard of heterosexual relationships that was set as the
social norm before by the men on the trolley. This is not the only thing the kiss
symbolize. The kiss also symbolize Naveen s reliance on women. Naveen tells Tiana
in confidence that he had never learned how to do anything because his parents did
everything for him. Naveen is used to the nurturing of his parents and expects
everyone, included Tiana, to provide everything for
Conception and Birth of Heroes in Greek Mythology Essay
Hero, the word strikes a universal chord making us think of exceptional and
spectacular stories or deeds that far surpass any common feat. To the Greeks and
many other cultures, the birth of these heroes is important. The birth of a hero sets
them, apart often even before birth, from common mortals in Greek mythology. Birth
is the first of many major events in our lives, our entrance into the world (Leeming).
For heroes, that entrance must be as special as their lives will prove to be. A
mundane birth is simply not an option for a hero, whether by the machinations of the
gods or prophecies from an oracle, even the events surrounding their conception must
be spectacular. From Perseus and DanaГ« to Theseusand Aethra, the myths... Show

Theseus, born of Aethra and Poseidon, grew up secretly in Troezen keeping him
protected from those who would harm him. Thus, claiming the items his father left
him and setting out for Athens, he started on the path leading to many great and
heroic adventures. Hercules, born of Alcmena and Zeus, was conceived when Zeus
took the form of Alcmena s husband and lay with her. Her true husband lay with
her again later that night and she conceived twins. One would be born to her
human husband, and the other fathered by Zeus himself (Hamilton). Zeus bragged
about his soon to be born son alerting and infuriating Hera to Hercules existence.
Hera was notorious for tormenting her husbands illegitimate offspring since she
couldn t harm Zeus outright for his infidelity (Hamilton). Hera persuaded
Eileithyia to slow Alcmena s labor in a fit of piquГ©, almost killing her
(Hamilton). Alcmena in fear of Hera s wrath gave her son to nature. Zeus (in some
accounts Hermes) stole him away to Olympus, where he suckled at Hera s breast
while she lay sleeping, granting him immortality (McLeish). When Hera awoke
during the suckling she pushed Hercules away and the milk that sprayed out formed
the Milky Way (Leeming). Zeus took the infant and placed him back in his crib
before departing to Olympus again. Enraged Hera sent two massive serpents to kill
Hercules and his brother as they lay sleeping
Critique Of Barbra Ehrenreich s Poem
I enjoyed this piece a great deal more than the radical feminist/lesbian pieces we
read for Tuesday. I think that I connected with this piece more because it felt
descriptive and informative rather than problematically prescriptive. Rich sets up
the environment that heterosexuality is situated in as compulsory because of
Patriarchal cohesion and violence and I found it very productive of her to set it up
as an institution. I thought her critiques were very well placed and argued in a
very respectful manner. I loved when she discussed Barbra Ehrenreich and Deirdre
English s piece because her critique was very necessary but she did not tear them
down to highlight their omissions. She states [s]o much of this book [on witches,
midwives, and nurses] is so devastatingly informative and is written with such lucid
feminist wit, that I kept waiting as I read for the basic prescription against
lesbianism to be examined. It never was (Rich 634). She is rightly calling out
feminist academics who have not tackled lesbianism in a thoughtful way, but she isn t
completely invalidating their work. This seems like a... Show more content on

She states, [t]he fact is that women in every culture and throughout history have
undertaken the task of non heterosexual, woman connected existence, to the extent
made possible by their context, often in the belief that they were the only ones
ever to have done so (Rich 635). This seemed like a great deal of the historical
scholarship of the 1980 s that focused on finding women s histories that have been
erased, but that fact that she is focusing on lesbians is important as well. Her
statement also reminded me of the idea of consciousness raising, not only within a
single community but also within a broad historical narrative. She is encouraging the
reader to ask, what do woman not know about ourselves, and moreover what has been

The Role Of Aphrodite In Greek Mythology
Goddess of love, sexuality, and fertility, Aphrodite is one of Greek mythology s
most widely known goddesses. She was a goddess of great power, strength, and
most of all, beauty. Aphrodite held great power over both mortals and immortals so
it comes as no surprise that she appears in many stories, myths, and poems. The
story of Aphrodite s birth as she emerges from the sea foam is told in 1.5 Hesiod s
Theogony. It is in this story that Aphrodite is introduced as a mysterious and
beautiful seductress. In 5.4 Aphrodite and Anchises: The Homeric Hymn to
Aphrodite, Zeuscasts a spell over Aphrodite making her fall in love with a mortal
man. Finally, in 5.8 Hymn to Venus From Lucretius De Rerum Natura, the poet
Sappho calls to Venus (the Roman equivalent of Aphrodite) to help her during a
terrible heartache.

Identification Of Civilian Population By The Hampshire...
The document is an from an archive taken from the Hampshire Record Office which
includes a government poster published in Britain during the time when WW2 had
just began and evacuation process had started to take place. Whilst carrying out
research it is important to be able to understand more about the context of this time.
To some extent this poster is able to help us with our understandingsurrounding some
of the details about the evacuation process as well as being able to analyse some of
the information that the government provided the citizens with during this time.
Whilst trying to understand and develop my research on evacuees and how records
were kept and handled, this document specifically is able to provide some insight
into the different areas across Great Britain and possibly develop upon this in order
to compare and contrast research that is compiled over a period of time.
The title of this document is Important announcement Dispersal of civilian population

The Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
Introduction
The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind is an Oscar winning alternative U.S.
film released March 19th 2004(IMDb 2015). It was produced by Focus Features
and follows the dysfunctional love story of Joel and Clementine. The film itself
despite being strongly influenced by Hollywood pays homage to other film
movements such as surrealism and Soviet montage. The film in itself was a
struggle to be categorised, thought it has been described as a romance, black
comedy and many others that will later be explored. The director aimed to make
this film timeless and still stands to be as effective today as it was when it was
released.
Production
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is the brainchild of director Michel Gondry
and scriptwriter Charlie Kaufman. Steve Golin on of the crew on the film was quoted
saying the two complement each other. Michel is truly gifted at visualisation. But
he also has a lot of soul. Charlie is probably the most imaginative writer that I ve
had the opportunity to work with. He creates characters and situations that are
relatable but very unusual and he also has very visual ideas. (Dugdale H 2006).
The film itself has utilises rawer filming aspects than a classic Hollywood film.
Instead of C.G.I the film uses camera techniques to make the characters smaller or
larger in scale (Dugdale H 2006). The film itself was categorised under many genres
including romance, drama, science fiction, black comedy, surrealism and realism. The
Character Changes In Romeo And Juliet
In this essay I will characterize Romeo and how he changed over the play and the
film Baz Luhrman directed.
Romeo in the film is always compared to blue or Water. I think the director decided
to associate Romeo to blue to show the audience that he is a calm and trusting
person. For example he is always wearing a blue shirt. He is also associated to
water, I think the director decided to do this because water is neutral, no one owns
the water. So when he is with Juliet he isn t the Montague , he is only a boy. This
because water is clean and washes away his name. In the balcony scene when
Romeo and Juliet fall in the water is like both their names were cleaned off and they
could be children again. The film shows us their child innocence and ... Show more

When he goes there he is clumsy and tripping over everything. He risks his life to
see her, which is not practical, not only for him, who is risking being caught and
being sentenced to death penalty, but also her, Juliet, which if caught is going to be
in trouble with her family. In the Elizabethan times, wealth family girls being caught
disoubeying their parents would be sent to a nuns house, where they were not
allowed to see men. The clumsiness when he enters Juliet s house is a big contrast
to the Romeo we saw at the beach who was calm. Although we still see some
indifference towards life. We know this because he risks his life to see Juliet not
caring if he got caught. This suugests the audience that he is still not completely
changed and committed to Juliet. This scene also contrasts the ball room scene that
he looks in control. We know this because the types of shots Baz Luhrmannused in
that scene and the balcony scene are different and show different things. In the ball
room scene the shots are straight forward, which suggests he is in control of how
people see him. Then in the balcony scene most of the shots are close up to show
emotions or overhead shots to show vulnerability and young
Initial Public Offering
An initial public offering (IPO) is the process through which a privately held
company issues shares of stock to the public for the first time. Also known as
going public, an IPO transforms a small business from a privately owned and
operated entity into one that is owned by public stockholders. An IPO is a
significant stage in the growth of many small businesses, as it provides them with
access to the public capital market and also increases their credibility and exposure.
Becoming a public entity involves significant changes for a small business, though,
including a loss of flexibility and control for management. In many cases, however,
an IPO may be the only means left of financing growth and expansion. The decision
to go public is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A related advantage is that the public company may have enhanced credibility with its
suppliers, customers, and lenders, which may lead to improved credit terms.
Yet another advantage of going public involves the ability to use stock in creative
incentive packages for management and employees. Offering shares of stock and
stock options as part of compensation may enable a small business to attract better
management talent, and to provide them with an incentive to perform well.
Employees who become part owners through a stock plan may be motivated by
sharing in the company s success. Finally, an initial public offeringprovides a public
valuation of a small business. This means that it will be easier for the company to
enter into mergers and acquisitions, because it can offer stock rather than cash.
Disadvantages of Going Public
The biggest disadvantages involved in going public are the costs and time involved.
Experts note that a company s management is likely to be occupied with little else
during the entire IPO process, which may last as long as two years. The small
business owner and other top managers must prepare registration statements for the
SEC, consult with investment bankers, attorneys, and accountants, and take part in
the personal marketing of the stock. Many people find this to be an

Enzyme Design Lab
Research Question:
At what temperature does an enzyme react at its optimum rate?
Background Information:
Hydrogen Peroxide is a by product of many biological and chemical functions of
organism. Although it is toxic, it still remains in our cells. To counter the hydrogen
peroxide we produce something called a catalase. This means that with a catalase, it
can cause the chemical reaction to speed up the reaction of the Hydrogen Peroxide
so that it does not come in contact with our cells. The enzymes that are being used in
this lab, whichever catalase it may be, has an optimal or room temperature of 37В°C.
When the the chosen enzyme catalase is exposed to hydrogen peroxide, it begins to
decompose into the water mixed with the oxygen gas in the air. This means that
when an enzyme is damaged, it is no longer able to work as a catalyzer in a chemical

When the potato is placed in the hydrogen peroxide mixture the reaction will happen
once the start of bubbles arise and the metabolic reaction process of decomposition.
This will happen because the reaction is caused by the catalase and the enzyme

Painted Faces In William Golding s Lord Of The Flies
Painted Faces
Even though Ralph is a young teenage boy he still possesses the characteristics of a
grown man. He shows us courage, responsibility, strength, hard work, and most
importantly leadership. One nautical day everything changed for Ralph and his
schoolmates after becoming stranded on an uninhabited island out in the middle of
the Pacific Ocean. The boys claim they were shot down, but no one knows for sure
what had happened. Somehow everyone survives the plane crash except for the pilot
which means the youngsters were without any adult supervision. Ralph s
childishness was soon to show as he runs around cheering with his clothes off. In the
book Ralph is distinguished as a handsome fair looking boy with blond hair and gold
looking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To make the mask a little more interesting I have created two flaps that cover the
mask except for the two eye sockets. On the flaps you will see a map of the island
with much detail and color to represent the luscious landform and will provide the
feeling of what s going on inside the island once you reveal the flaps. Before you take
a look inside though you will notice that I have not covered the eyes. Inside each eye
you will see a symbol. In the right eye I have drawn a picture of a boat sailing across
the ocean and in the left I have drawn a bonfire. I Drew the reflection of the boat to
symbolize how eager Ralph is to get off the island and we can all see this by the way
he blows up in Jack s face. And for the fire it represents and shows that the boys
need to respect and listen to each other if they want to survive. Now on to the inside.
The first object that would catch my eye when you look inside is the conch shell that
is placed on the bottom middle of the mask. The conch shell represents peace and
binds the boys together to create a brotherhood. The shell is a light pinkish color
with a mix of white to blend the emotions.I have also drawn a pair of sticks that are
on fire creating an X in the middle of the mask to symbolize strength and power.
Above the two I have written the word bravery to show that Ralph is willing to
whatever it takes to lead his fellow schoolmates. On top of the mask you will notice
a detailed crown with diamonds and jewels, I drew this because it shows his
leadership and responsibility he has granted to the group. The crown consists very
rich and eye capturing colors. Inside the crown you will see the letters that spell out
leadership and I put this word on here because without Ralph s leadership this group
of boys would have no one else to lead them that has the same characteristics as him.

Joy Luck Club Movie Vs Book
In The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan, the emotionality of the book gives readers a
better sense of the character s struggles throughout the novel. Despite bearing some
superficial similarities, the differences between the novel of The Joy Luck Club
and the film reveal the importance to the history of characters and how the events
can change the emotional aspects and view of the characters. In the book, for
example, there is one part in which the daughter Lena picks up the shattered pieces
of the vase that had fallen from the unsteady table her husband had built. Many
readers believe that the study was a symbol of the daughter s relationship with her
husband. The part in which this happens shows the mother telling her daughter that
the table fell down, leading Lena to the realization of the broken relationship of her
husband and herself. It doesn t matter, I say and I start to pick up the broken glass
shards. I knew it would happen. Then why don t you stop it? asks my... Show more

But even then, I thought it was bad, because my body flowed with terrible revenge

film, Ying Ying is shown drowning her baby. This leaves viewers to think that she
is a horrible person who is a murderer. The difference between and abortion and
drowning a child is much different, and the film s portrayal of it changes the view of
the character. And the film also didn t show as much as the background to their

The Metamorphosis of Sydney Carton
Sydney Carton, one of Dickens s most loved and best remembered characters (Stout
29), is not just another two dimensional character; he seems to fly off the pages and
into real life throughout all the trials and tribulations he experiences. He touches
many hearts, and he even saves the life of Charles Darnay, a man who looks
surprisingly similar to him. In Dickens s A Tale of Two Cities
, Sydney Carton is a
selfish man of habit, a cynic, a self loathing drunk, and an incorrigible barrister
until he meets Lucie Manette; throughout the novel Sydney is overcome by his
noble love for Lucie and transforms from a cynic to a hero as he accomplishes one of
the most selfless acts a man can carry out. The elusive Sydney Carton is depicted as a

Carton is the jackal to Stryver s lion. According to Darwin, a jackal is an animal
not destined by nature to exist, and carrying with it the provisions for death (Petch
28). Sydney accepts that he will never rise from his position as the jackal . He
assumes he has no more chance of standing up to Stryver than a real jackal may
have of rising to be a lion (Dickens 203). Sydney s position as a lawyer persuades
his feelings of service. He fully shows the ideology of service as he gives his life to
the service of his clients. To serve others, a person must have a sense of self
sacrifice; therefore, his profession as a lawyer supplies a professional context for
Carton s self sacrifice (Petch 38). If not for Sydney s profession and his self
sacrificial sense of duty, the end of the novel may have been extremely different.
While Sydney struggles with his drinking and depression, he finds comfort in one
person: Lucie Manette. At night, as he is stumbling drunkenly down the streets, he
unconsciously winds up in front of the Manette household (Dickens 144). Why
does he do this? He does this because he is in love with Miss Lucie Manette. As
much as he wants to act on his feelings for her, he feels as if he is not honorable,
and he believes he would bring her down with him.
If it had been possible, Miss Manette, that you could have returned the love of the

Tucks Views On Life Everlasting
Life Everlasting Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be immortal?
Well the Tucks know how it feels. 87 years ago, the Tucks drank from a spring in
the woods that belonged to a little girl name Winnie Foster. Tuck and Jesse have
different veiws on what being immortal is like. Immortal means to live forever. Tuck
thinks that immortality is bad, because he wants to age and change, go to heaven, he
also wants to get to be a grandparent, and continue his wheel of life. Tuck is agaist
immortality, and wants to be a normal person. Jesse thinks that immortality is good
because he can experience things in the future. Jesse wants to have
Hierarchy of Teepees
A tipi (also tepee and teepee) is a Lakota name for a conical tent traditionally made
of animal skins and wooden poles used by the nomadic tribes and sedentary tribal
dwellers (when hunting) of the Great Plains. Tipis are stereotypically associated with
Native Americans in general but Native Americans from places other than the Great
Plainsmostly used different types of dwellings. The term wigwam (a domed
structure) is sometimes incorrectly used to refer to a tipi.
The tipi was durable, provided warmth and comfort in winter, was dry during
heavy rains, and was cool in the heat of summer. Tipis could be disassembled and
packed away quickly when a tribe decided to move and could be reconstructed
quickly upon settling in a new area. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One end of this lashing rope is left dangling from the tie point, long enough to
reach the base of the poles. These tripod poles are stood upright, with their
unfastened ends spaced apart on the ground to form a triangle, each pole s base the
skin s radius from its neighbors. A dozen more long poles are laid onto the three
primary poles. Their upper ends rest on the lashing of the first three, and the lower
ends are evenly spaced to form a circle on the ground which includes the original
three poles. The lashing rope is then walked around the whole structure three times
and pulled tight. This ties the placed poles to the tripod at the crown of the tipi.
The canvas skin is tied to another pole, lifted up and the top of the pole is rested
where all the poles meet. The skin is pulled around the pole framework. The
overlap seam is closed with wooden lacing pins which are thin sticks about 10
inches long with one or both ends tapered. Sometimes a door is attached to one of
the bottom lacing pins. In old tipis of hide or early cloth, the door was where the two
sides came together in the front. A blanket, hide or cloth door was put over the
opening to secure the entrance.
The base of the skin is pegged to the ground. Traditionally pegs were placed in slits
at the bottom of the cover. As canvas or cloth came into use loops were sewn into the
bottom or, in an emergency smooth
Similarities Between Frost And Heaney
Both poets, Frost and Heaney wrote in the pastoral tradition, drawing on the natural
landscape of Bellaghy, Co Derry and Frost and the farmland of New England,
Massachusetts. Respectively Frost is an influence on Heaney evident in the sound of
sense and Heaney borrowed the Frostian voice of rural vernacular with his use of
unadorned language and natural speech rhythms, giving both poets work a
conversational intimacy. Likewise, both poets used the everyday quotidian to
illuminate universal truths and to extrapolate deeper meanings from ordinary.
Similarly they used interactions with the natural world to produce profound
revelations about the past, mortality, human loss, childhood, the creative process,
journeys and self discovery. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Continuing on from this, the monosyllabic line does not rust is assertive as he

he shapes it into a halo like crown with the luminescence of gold (transformation).
However, the throwaway love knot is a contradictory/juxtaposition as the oxymoron

to the stones yielding to the gravitational pull of the Earth and the contraction of the
melting ice. The speculative tone continues in the fifth line work of the hunters tone
of reprimanding and disapproving, left not one stone on a stone . There

American Idol
That rendition was impressive, but you do not look like an American Idol; however,
we will give you one more chance. Welcome to Hollywood! A person with a
mediocre voice that is not stunningly attractive would have a harder time advancing
to Hollywood on American Idol. As the judgessay, an American Idol should be a
distinct person with an exceptionally fantastic voice. Culture is the training or
refining of intellectual faculties and the way of life for a particular people. My goal

There are tears and screams as contestants, one by one, get through to the next round.
Along the way to fame, the contestants on American Idol receive mean, nasty and
often degrading criticisms from the judges. Those who are not the most attractive
seep through the auditions based on fantastic singing and have a much harder time
pursuing their hopefully destined career compared to a naturally attractive singer.
The drama that is stirred up during the auditions and throughout the show is why
people tend to watch.
Image is a big factor on American Idol because whoever wins the competition
receives a million dollar contract with a well known recording producer. A record
producer would not want a less than celebrity caliber person representing his or her
label because image is a huge factor in our society and they know for a fact that
someone not photogenic would not sell. They want someone who has some unique
aspect to their appearance or personality that would attract people to buy their
album. Since the recording producer works for Simon, it is partly his duty to make
good decisions about who he says goodbye to, and who he puts though to the final
thirty. Perhaps this is why Simon is so critical and mean to people, but that is what
America loves about him. Since America loves first impressions and style, they will
base their favorites on typically what they see from the show. Different people in our
society will enjoy different things about different

the film is much too violent and that the sexual scenes are unnecessary and do not

Religion Throughout British Literature
With all the books read in class this year, there has been some type of influence on
the way each story was written. From Beowulf to Paradise Lost, there have been
many, mostly religious, persuasions in the style and approach to writing of the
novel. These influences, whether they re religious or cultural or psychological,
have a deep impact on the story and are reflective of a literary time period. The
differences in each story show the changes in the culture, religion, or the way
people thought. The purpose of the sequential order of the stories is to show how
man has changed his ways, how he has failed and how he has redeemed himself. The
first piece of literature to be analyzed is Beowulf, which was written in approximately

This is one of the few points in which the noble Sir Gawain disappoints his fellow
knights and himself. After the third day, Gawain meets with the Green Knight.
The present, a magic girdle, helps Gawain in his stance against the Green Knight s
attempts to chop off his head. The first two swings, the Green Knight missed. The
third barely leaves a cut in his neck. After Gawain endures these three swings at his
neck, the Green Knight reveals his identity. He explains that he is the lord of the
castle, and the three days were all a test for the knight. The three blows were taken
at him in relation to the three days of their agreement. The first two days he was
honest and shared what he received, hence the first two swings missed. On the
third day when he received the magic girdle, he should have returned to the lord,
but he did not in fear of being thrown out by the lord. The action is not very honest
of Sir Gawain, and he s upset with himself. Consequently, he got hacked in the neck
on the third swing. Afterwards, he returned to the court instantly, disheartened and
head hung low, knowing he didn t display the values of Christianity and the of the
Round Table. The entire story of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is to show how
men are tested to see if they truly hold the Christian values of courage, honesty, and
chivalry. The story however, is based on paganistic

Anti Federalists And The Revolutionary War
Although independence was just won, the country still needed protection from other
hostile countries. Besides protecting the country from foreign enemies, the Anti
Federalists wanted to protect the American people from its own government. In fact,
the Anti Federalists were especially concerned with preserving for ordinary citizens
the ability to participate in government (Amar). After all, the Revolutionary War was
fought in order to gain freedom from oppression. However, by giving all of the
power to the states, the nation would be divided. A nation divided would not stand
forever because it would be limited against foreign enemies. While the Anti
Federalists had the right idea in mind, not all possibilities were thought of. For the
Federalists, protection from foreign nations was ideal. In concerns with protection,
the leader of the Federalists, Alexander Hamilton, proclaimed, Let the thirteen States,
bound together in a strict and indissoluble Union, concur in erecting one great
American system, superior to the control of all transatlantic force or influence, and
able to dictate the terms of the connection between the old and the new world!
(Hamilton). Besides Hamilton preaching these ideas and writing two thirds of the
essays in the Federalist Papers(Schmidt 53), James Madisoncontributed to supporting
the Federalists and developing a system of checks and balances, which limited the
power of each branch in the government as stated in Constitution. Madison and
Symbols In Ethan Frome
Ethan Frome is a novel published in 1911 written by Edith Wharton. In this novel a
man named Ethan Frome, married to Zenobia Frome, falls in love with another
woman named Mattie Silver. Mattie is the bright light in Ethan s dark life. Wharton
utilizes symbolism to create emotion and meaning throughout the story. She uses
objects, numbers, and the setting to shed light on the various elements of the story
that she deems important. The objects around the Frome s home are very symbolic.
The missing piece of Ethan and Zeena s house symbolizes the missing link in their
relationship. Ethan tells the narrator that he had to take out L of his house. The L
connects the house to the barn. The connection is nonexistent. Not only is the
physical connection of their house gone, but the romantic connection was also gone
between Ethan and Zeena (Asya, Ferda). The Frome s cat is symbolic as well. The
cat represents Zeena. When Ethan and Mattie are alone together, the cat continuously

constantly reminded about his failed attempt to be free with Mattie while also trying

Good Topics To Write An Essay About

  • 1. Good Topics To Write An Essay About Writing an essay on the topic "Good Topics To Write An Essay About" presents a peculiar challenge, as it requires a certain level of irony and self-awareness. The difficulty lies in the irony of attempting to explore the notion of what constitutes a good essay topic while simultaneously navigating the vast landscape of potential subjects. The task involves a delicate balance between humor and seriousness, as one must acknowledge the inherent paradox in attempting to define what makes a topic "good." Furthermore, the writer must grapple with the subjective nature of the term "good," recognizing that what may be a compelling subject for one person could be entirely uninteresting to another. This subjective element adds a layer of complexity to the essay, as the author must carefully navigate the fine line between objectivity and personal bias. The irony deepens as the writer delves into the challenge of selecting a topic that not only appeals to a broad audience but also maintains a level of originality. The struggle to find a unique angle on the subject becomes evident, as the essay itself becomes a self-referential exploration of the complexities inherent in the process of choosing a topic. As the essay progresses, the writer may find themselves questioning the very foundation of the assignment, pondering the arbitrary nature of deeming certain topics as "good." The journey becomes a meta-reflection on the inherent challenges and contradictions in the essay-writing process, transforming the task into a self-aware exploration of the writer's own struggles and doubts. In the end, without explicitly revealing the chosen topic, the essay subtly hints at the vast resources available for assistance. The mention of ordering similar essays and more on HelpWriting.net suggests a solution for those grappling with the intricacies of essay writing. It adds a touch of practicality to the otherwise ironic and self-aware exploration of the challenges associated with writing an essay on the seemingly simple topic of "Good Topics To Write An Essay About." • 2. Discuss The Role Of Cultural Factors In Raising Children There are many cultural factors that come into play in the raising of children. One major factor is the role of the mother and father in early childhood interactions. Kathleen Berger points to the obvious differences between the way mothers and fathers interact with their young children. She states that mothers tend to caress, read, sing... where as fathers tend to swing the baby through the air (Berger 146). What is more, mothers tend to stay home from work to raise the children more than fathers (Berger 154). Yet the best case scenario in raising children is for a father and motherto both be involved. One such evidence is sited by Berger when she states, Close father infant relationships can teach infants (especially boys) appropriate
  • 3. Lobsterman Monument Dbq There are many monuments in the world and they are all built to honor someone or something that was done by that person. For example, after the Maine Lobsterman was built, the fake bronze statue returned to Maine and spent several decades being moved from city hall to museum to museum. No one seemed to want the man and his lobster. The issue at hand is if the monuments being built are memorializing the person or moment created accurately. Monuments capture legacy and preserve the individual s actions throughout history. Specifically, monuments should consider purpose, location, and size in their creation. The purpose of many monuments is to honor and protect the legacy of some of America s greatest heroes. Kirk Savage in the book Monument ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the book, Cemetery faces an uncertain future Jason Kosareff states the crazy horse cemetery has more than 3,000 graves in the cemetery and a 4 acre graveyard at 9263 valley blvd. However the size of the area can come at a price, unless something happens and we get the money from somewhere, I don t know how were going to make it (source D) said Rosie Gutierrez, treasurer for the El Monte Cemetary Association (source D). The size of the Holocaust museum as said by Christine Musser in the book Preserving Memory: National Holocaust Memorial museum controversy the museum is dubbed as too massive. The members of the commission felt the massive building would overcome The Mall and take away the main purpose of the museum (source E). The size can be detrimental whether it is cost wise or the Museum overpowers other aspects of the area around
  • 4. Charles Duhigg The Power Of Habit Summary Habits have always been part of every human s lives and they the will always influence and control what people do. Charles Duhigg does an excellent job of explaining this in his book, The Power Of Habit. However, Charles Duhigg s intent for writing this book isn t to just explain what habits are and how they work, he also explains how to be aware of them, how to work with them and how to change them. Charles Duhigg s purpose for writing The Power Of Habit, is to not just inform the reader about what habits are and how they form and work, but to also persuade the reader to notice their habits and to change their old and bad habits to form new, positive habits in order to gain control and succeed in their life. He accomplishes this purpose... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now, instead of the author directly stating this in his book, he had to put it in an allegory. The author brings up a story by David Foster Wallace about some fish swimming in water. It goes, There are these two young fish swimming along and they happen to meet an older fish swimming the other way, who nods at them and says, Morning, boys, How s the water? The young fish swim on for a bit before one finally asks the other what water is. (274) Now an allegory is typically used to hide or hold a hidden, deeper meaning, and that s exactly what s going on here with the fish story that the author includes. You see, people will go through their lives not noticing the habits that they use and go through with in their life. The author uses this fish tale to show how many people will go swimming through a world that s filled with habits and none of them even realise it. The author wants people to notice their habits in their life, because once you notice and realize that you have a habit, you will then be able to change them and form new and better habits over

  • 7. Tupac Amaru Shakur s Change Essay The cry of injustice has become louder and louder and those people who are knowledgeable about their ancestral history, feel hopelessness in the midst of this unfortunate rebirth of the New Jim Crow. Their hopelessness is further fed and satisfied by the powers that be who arrange for African Americans to be unable to escape the extreme cycle of poverty forcing them to adapt the best way they can to their current situation; whether that be murdering someone like yourself or selling narcotics. Tupac Amaru Shakur, wrote the famous song Changes in 1992 but it was released after he was murdered, in October 1998. Tupac exposes the reality of commonly ignored societal ills such as racism, classism, and discrimination and establishes that unity is the only way out. Through the use of juxtaposition, allusion and call to action, Tupac illustrates his thoughts on racial desperation and its correlation to overarching racism during the period of social unrest in the United States and the importance of establishing a united front to fight back. Although written more than twenty four years ago, currently we are facing a heightened cultural climate in the United States and the relevancy of Tupac s song Changes is more than necessary. Tupac has become a spokesperson of not only his generation, but current American society. Tupac Amaru Shakur was born on June 16, 1971 in East Harlem, New York, in the United States. Tupac was the top rapper of his time, not only for his music, but also

  • 9. Essay on Community Policing and Problem-Oriented Policing Although many may find community policing and problem oriented policing to fall in the same category, there is (surprisingly) a difference between the two. For one, community policing has many definitions. For some, it means instituting foot and bicycle patrols and doing acts pertaining to the ideal bond between policeofficers and their community. While for others it means maintaining order and cleaning up neighborhoods in desperate need of repair (Dunham Alpert, 2005). However, an idyllic definition of community policing is altering the traditional definition of crime control to community problem solving and promising to transform the way police do their job. Within the past two decades, there has been much research on community... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Plus, the concept of problem oriented policing involves interaction with the public just as community policing does. So where is the difference? POP emphasizes on research more than any other aspect of policing. Not only is it a strategy, but it is also an approach to policing in which distinct parts of police business are subject to microscopic examination in hopes that what is learned about each problem will lead to discovering a new and more effective strategy for dealing with it (Goldstein, 2001). This all started in the late 1970 s (circa the beginning of community policing) when researchers, police professionals, and policymakers became interested in improving the efficiency of policing. Their research uncovered these findings: (1) police deal with a range of community problems, many of which are not strictly criminal in nature, (2) arrest and prosecution alone the traditional functions of the criminal justice system do not always effectively resolve problems, (3) giving the officers, who have great insight into community problems, the discretion to design solutions is extremely valuable to solving the problems, (4) police can use a variety of methods to redress recurrent problems, and (5) the community values police involvement in non criminal problems and recognizes the contribution the

Currently, The City of Toronto has implemented several infrastructures and services to create a more sustainable method of transportation for individuals in urban environments, such as the Downtown Yonge Business Improvement Area. Some of which are done by discouraging the use of personal vehicles by limiting the numbers of parking spaces available, as well as implementing traffic signal synchronization and ramp metering. Many of these services have improved the congestion in Toronto significantly, however, due to the increasing population, the past improvements are not enough. The higher population in Toronto makes the land that is available more expensive and as a result, more people tend to have to move to new towns or suburban areas. Therefore, cities need to improve transportation services that are already available or they must create new and efficient transportation services to allow for better commuting (Farahani et al., 2013). Many people who commute to Toronto tend to rely on their personal automobile. Studies have shown that in the past two decades, travel by automobiles is the main method of transportation used in the Global Toronto Area (Abulibdeh, 2014). This is due to variety of reasons, some of which includes the comfort, speed and convenience one receives by driving a vehicle. As mentioned previously, the increase in
  • 11. Otto Von Bismarck Realpolitik German Unification By the early 1800s the Germany we know today was constructed of 39 independent states the largest of which was Prussia. These states shared similar culture and industry which in turn brought them closer together. Though this caused a problem in Europe since they thought unified Germany would be too powerful. At the time there was one main leader for German unification, Otto von Bismarck. He followed a philosophy known as realpolitik, a system of politics principles based on practical rather than more moral or ideological considerations. Bismarck United the various kingdoms of German into one unified state. He started three wars to accomplish his goal but after unification he successfully maintained peace in europe. This unified Germanyone of the most militarily dominant nation in Europe. Bismarck had near absolute control over his country, and when he resigned his power is passed on to his successors. The following German leaders would ignore The philosophy of realpolitik and favor of militaristic illusions. Otto von Bismarck utilized his leadership as well as philosophy of realpolitik to unify Germany and maintain peace in Europe. Subsequent German leaders would disregard Bismarck s ideals, as his obsession with individual power failed to create a long lasting germany. Thus leaving to a tainted legacy. • 13. Current Health Status Of Cambodia This paper discusses the current health status of Cambodia, and the factors that influence it. These factors include the healthcare systems and national expenditures for healthcare, ethnic diversity and cultural factors, gender equality, communicable and noncommunicable diseases, technology in global health, and health policies. Cambodia, overall, has seen a major improvement in recent years following the Khmer Rouge, with major strides especially in economic growth, education, and some communicable diseases. However, Cambodia still struggles in some areas due to it s lack of infrastructure, making areas like improving access to healthcare and decreasing poverty difficult. If Cambodia wishes to improve in all areas, it will need to focus on using its fast economic growth to help improve its infrastructure. Healthcare in Cambodia and Its Impact on Cambodians I will be doing an in depth analysis on the urbanization, education, work conditions, income status, and access to health services on the health of Cambodia. I think these determinants are very important in understanding the health challenges Cambodia faces. At 8.4% Cambodia has one of the highest urbanization rates in the world (The World Bank, 2015), yet it s urban infrastructure is limited and outdated, making urbanization a major obstacle for the health of Cambodians . Less than half of Cambodian adolescents are enrolled in secondary school (NGO Education Partnership, 2015), and this is important

The American Personal Responsibility in Food Consumption Act, commonly called the Cheeseburger Bill, protects producers and retailers of food and non alcoholic drinks from lawsuits and class action suits arising from obesity claims. This bill is more of a benefit to the fast food chains, than the consumer. The bill protects the the producers and sellers for consumers not taking their own responsibility with regard to their consumption intake. However, McDonalds must found guilty of fault aside from the fault of being the producer /seller of the product. Lab Report In biology class, we ve learned that sugars produce energy and to use sugars to gain energy, an organism needs a proper enzyme should exist to break it down the chemical bonds of the sugar. Enzymes and proteins are important in organisms because they are involved in most chemical reactions that take place inside of an organism. Our example of an important enzyme was catalase, which breaks down H2O2. H2O2 is a natural by product and toxic. When H2O2 contacts catalase, it breaks down into water and oxygen. Our group got curious about how changes in temperature and pH levels affect enzyme activity. Since enzymes are group of protein and protein can break easily by acid, base, and hot temperature. To experiment our question, we used catalase solution, 3% H2O2 solution, 0.1 M HCl solution, 0.1 M NaOH solution, a beaker, an O2 gas sensor, sensor interface on a Chromebook, pH paper, and safety gloves. Therefore, we conducted experiments to test how enzyme activity in different conditions. Plus, we predicted that if temperature increases or enzyme have contacts with acid or base, enzyme activity will decrease. We held four controlled experiments which are controller, temperature, HCl Acid, and NaOH Base. We controlled the amount of catalase to 10 mL and H2O2 solution to 4 mL. First we mixed catalase with H2O2 solution and used O2 sensor to gather

Thought Worlds In The Film Get The Gringo Throughout the course we have understood that thought worlds are seen in terms of the attitudes, belief systems, and assumptions of a given society or people, which shape the aspect of American culture such as drug trafficking, racism, and etc. In terms of thought worlds I was able to incorporate my understanding of the meaning into a filmI watched, Get the Gringo (2012). The film shares the racial stereotypical aspect of Mexicos prison and the misconception of fake police and society being protected by criminals. The film Gringo was produced, co written, and starred by Mel Gibson. The film opens with Gibson (Gringo) driving a getaway car with a clown mask and his accomplice is in the backseat sounded from American police while heading towards the Mexican border. Gibson crashes through the border fence, and he is arrested by corrupt Mexican police officers, Vasquez and Romero when they find $2 million in the car and Gibson was incarcerated into El Pueblito prison under false charges and keeping the cash for themselves. Now in the film, El Pueblito is described more as a small ghetto town like than a prison. Then Gibson met a kid who lives with his incarcerated mother. Society, through such means as literature, popular culture, and tradition, has perpetuated these gender stereotypes and expectations for much of history. Unconscious and conscious assumptions about gendershape how readers perceive sex in literature; men are typically considered lustful, whereas women are considered loving. However, the subjects of sex, love, and lust in literature, as demonstrated in poems written by Robert Burns and Andrew Marvell, become increasingly nuanced when gender stereotypes and expectations are questioned and removed. Gender roles, expectations, and stereotypes have shifted and become less clearly defined... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He says that the youthful hue / sits on [her] skin like morning dew, but that this fresh beauty will soon fade (Marvell 584; 33 34). The description of this woman supports stereotypes of both genders. The man is lustful, and his tactic is to appeal to the woman s shallow vanity. He appeals to her desire for love by almost offhandedly tacking on how he would like to know her heart (Marvell 583; 18). Additionally, he says that, should they act upon his lustful desires, they would be like amorous birds of prey (Marvell 584; 38). The contradictory image of loving raptors enforces the stereotype of a predatory man spouting any lovely lie to get a woman in his bed. A Red, Red Rose by Robert Burns is not as overtly sexual as To His Coy Mistress. However, Burns was notoriously promiscuous, and his subject matter was often of a sexual nature. It is safe to say that his purpose in this poem was a sexual purpose. He says his luve s like a red, red rose / that s newly sprung in June (Burns 935; 1 2). He also describes his love as a beautiful song being sweetly played in tune (Burns 935; 1 2). He uses this flowery language to appeal to women s stereotypical love for beauty and emotion. He additionally appeals to an overemotional woman by using hyperbolic language to describe his love. He claims that he will love this woman until all the seas dry up and the rocks melt wi the sun

Researchers in this study wanted to know if state and trait anxiety could calculate a correlation coefficient with the emotional stroop. They also wanted to identify whether trait or state anxiety would have a stronger association with performance on the emotional stroop. Researchers hypothesized that both state and trait anxiety would be able to be calculated with a strong, positive correlation coefficient and that state anxiety would have a stronger association with performance on the emotional stroop. Previous studies have shown that there is no correlation between a high ordered construct and the time it takes on an emotion stroop test. In a study conducted by Klug and Matthews (1993), results showed that general emotionality was not important in predicting the extent of interference for color naming emotional words. Brosschot and Ruiter (1994) found the emotional stroop to be bias in anxiety states. If not bias by the emotional stroop, then bias by the participants with anxiety. A study found that participants in various phobic groups try to suppress their high anxiety when taking the emotional stroop test (Amir et al, 1996). For one short lived moment, Dick contemplates prostituting Jane for income but of course because this is a light hearted comedy Jane becomes furious with this suggestion. Not long after her outrage she turns to burglary willingly. Burglary, just like prostitution, is illegal, immoral, and demoralizing. Unlike prostitution, which is a misdemeanor, burglary is a felony. These two criminals are portrayed as good people just trying to feed their son and keep their house, yet the same good guys in the audience who would frown on prostitution, enthusiastically support burglary as a practical comedic maneuver. Yet, if Dick and Jane are on the path of immorality, as conveyed by their society s parameters, they might as well have went with prostitution as a way to make money. With Jane being such an amazing looking woman, she could have easily earned thousands of dollars a day escorting swanky businessmen, thus attaining the goal of quick cash less unlawfully. The movie snidely communicates to us that dressing up as Sonny and Cher to commit armed robbery, or taking your neighbor s car and driving it through a jewelry store window is less shameful than selling your body. The definition of robbery is the act of robbing from a person or presence of another by violence or threat which is considered a felony; prostituting or escorting

The Princess and The Frog really is a classic Disney love story. Tiana is a woman in New Orleans who dreams of one day running her own popular restaurant along the Mississippi River. Prince Naveen travels to New Orleans with the sole purpose of marrying a rich woman to reclaim his part of his family s fortune. His greed is his downfall when he seeks the services of Dr. Facilier, a voodoo man who turns him into a frog and turns his servant, Lawrence, into the prince. In a chance meeting at a masquerade ball, Tiana and frog Naveen meet. Naveen promises to pay for Tiana s restaurant if she would kiss him to turn him back into a human. • 40. Enzyme Lab Report Amenah Ali Ms.Corbett IB Biology HL I Period 5 December 13, 2017 Enzyme Design Lab Research Question: At what temperature does an enzyme react at its optimum rate? Background Information: Hydrogen Peroxide is a by product of many biological and chemical functions of organism. Although it is toxic, it still remains in our cells. To counter the hydrogen peroxide we produce something called a catalase. This means that with a catalase, it can cause the chemical reaction to speed up the reaction of the Hydrogen Peroxide so that it does not come in contact with our cells. The enzymes that are being used in this lab, whichever catalase it may be, has an optimal or room temperature of 37В°C. When the the chosen enzyme catalase is exposed to hydrogen peroxide, it begins to decompose into the water mixed with the oxygen gas in the air. This means that when an enzyme is damaged, it is no longer able to work as a catalyzer in a chemical reaction. When the potato is placed in the hydrogen peroxide mixture the reaction will happen once the start of bubbles arise and the metabolic reaction process of decomposition. This will happen because the reaction is caused by the catalase and the enzyme within the potato. Hypothesis: If we heat up the water to a temperature higher than room temperature, then the length of reaction will increase. Variables: IV and DV and Control Variable Identification: Include Units. He shows us courage, responsibility, strength, hard work, and most importantly leadership. The boys claim they were shot down, but no one knows for sure what had happened. On the flaps you will see a map of the island with much detail and color to represent the luscious landform and will provide the feeling of what s going on inside the island once you reveal the flaps. Before you take a look inside though you will notice that I have not covered the eyes. Inside each eye you will see a symbol. In the right eye I have drawn a picture of a boat sailing across the ocean and in the left I have drawn a bonfire. I Drew the reflection of the boat to symbolize how eager Ralph is to get off the island and we can all see this by the way he blows up in Jack s face. And for the fire it represents and shows that the boys need to respect and listen to each other if they want to survive. Now on to the inside. The first object that would catch my eye when you look inside is the conch shell that is placed on the bottom middle of the mask. The conch shell represents peace and binds the boys together to create a brotherhood. The shell is a light pinkish color with a mix of white to blend the emotions.I have also drawn a pair of sticks that are on fire creating an X in the middle of the mask to symbolize strength and power. Above the two I have written the word bravery to show that Ralph is willing to whatever it takes to lead his fellow schoolmates. On top of the mask you will notice a detailed crown with diamonds and jewels, I drew this because it shows his leadership and responsibility he has granted to the group. The crown consists very rich and eye capturing colors. Inside the crown you will see the letters that spell out leadership and I put this word on here because without Ralph s leadership this group of boys would have no one else to lead them that has the same characteristics as him. Sydney accepts that he will never rise from his position as the jackal . He assumes he has no more chance of standing up to Stryver than a real jackal may have of rising to be a lion (Dickens 203). Sydney s position as a lawyer persuades his feelings of service. He fully shows the ideology of service as he gives his life to the service of his clients. To serve others, a person must have a sense of self sacrifice; therefore, his profession as a lawyer supplies a professional context for Carton s self sacrifice (Petch 38). If not for Sydney s profession and his self sacrificial sense of duty, the end of the novel may have been extremely different. A dozen more long poles are laid onto the three primary poles. Their upper ends rest on the lashing of the first three, and the lower ends are evenly spaced to form a circle on the ground which includes the original three poles. The lashing rope is then walked around the whole structure three times and pulled tight. This ties the placed poles to the tripod at the crown of the tipi.
