Role Of Play On Early Childhood Education
Role of Play on Early Childhood Education Bharati Saha
Early Childhood Education Department, University of Oklahoma
This paper is submitted for the EDEC 5970 Social Emotion in Early Childhood as part of the course
requirement.
Abstract
Early childhood development occurs in six domains. This paper discusses the role of play and its
effects on these domains in children learning. Different types play and play centers were discussed to
show connectivity of the play type and domain development. Interactions among children during play
can enhance cooperative learning using methods and materials used in the play center. Teacher plays
important role to set up the play center, method and materials to be used, and create the learning
environment with specific goal setting. Intervention approach by asking different types of questions
help them to engage, make learning fun, and effective collaborative learning.
Introduction
. Early childhood development takes place in six domains including physical, language, social,
cognitive, emotional, and cultural. Figure 1 shows all six domains in early childhood development.
Physical domain involves learning to use big muscles (gross motor skills) and small muscles (fine
motor skills) in our body. Activities such as crawling, walking, running, hopping, ups and downs are a
few examples of gross motor skills. Writing, drawing, cutting with scissors and walking on a line are a
few examples of fine motor skills.

Mommy Moments Research Paper
I have a lot of proud mommy moments, but one of the most recent moments is when my oldest
daughter, Brianna joined the Army. When Brianna graduated high school, she really didn t know what
to do with her life. She has always been very interested in working on vehicles, but she has also been
interested in coaching basketball and becoming an Athletic Director. She thought that being a
mechanic would just be a hobby and would just go to college, since that is what all of her friends were
doing. That fall she started college at CSC and was doing very good. She knew something was
missing from her life and just wasn t as interested in college as she thought she would be. She started
to party and go to class less and less. Then, that Christmas break ... Show more content on

It was so hot and humid, then it started raining. When it rained in South Carolina, it s not the same as
when it rains in Nebraska. It s hard to explain the rain there, kind of a warm rain that would come and
go all day long. The bleachers were almost full, but we still got really good seats. For about an hour
everyone just sat there looking at an open field with a bunch of trees in the distance. Everyone kept
looking around to see where all of the soldiers were, but there were a few drill sergeants walking
around and that was it. My son Cole said, oh great mom, we re at the wrong place . Then, all of a
sudden there were different colored smoke bombs being launched from the trees in the distance and
over the loud speakers they were playing Toby Keith s song, Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue.
When we looked out into the once completely field there was just various colored smoke everywhere.
Then all of a sudden, the drill sergeants started to run towards the trees (I m assuming, it was hard to
see with all of the smoke). The smoke started to die down and we could see hundreds of soldiers
running toward us. There were so many of them, it was impossible to find Brianna in the sea of
camouflage. Everyone was clapping and cheering, then I look over at my other daughter, Alli and she
was just bawling. I said, what s wrong ? and she said, I don t see Brianna . Then my smarty pants son

Understanding How Hitler Became the Man He was Essay examples
What comes to mind when people hear the name Adolf Hitler? For some may not have heard of him
but others have heard much about him depicting on the fact that someone could have learned about
him in a class or even on their own. Most would think about the dictator of Germany who killed
millions of people as the image of his notorious mustache pops into one s head. But what if some were
to know that he wasn t always the man everyone saw in 1933. Adolf Hitler may have been the most
charismatic and decisive leader Germany has ever seen but also one of the most vile. How did he
come to be this way? He surely wasn t born like that was he? To understand how Hitler became the

August Kubizek. Kubizek described Hitler by having an unstable personality and a temper. Hitler was
prone to sudden bursts of inspiration but never finished anything he started. In Vienna he suffered
bouts of depression and sometimes experienced extreme highs. Soon at age 21 Hitler began to become
interested in politics which would help play out his soon to be career (Hitler, Adolf). In May 1913,
Hiter moved to Munich Germany which he became an advocate for the upcoming war. Hitler wasn t

On August 1, 1914 a huge crowd including Hitler gathered in a big public plaza in Munich to celebrate
the german proclamation for war. Hearing the news Hitler thanked heaven for him to be alive for the
Great War. Two days later, Hitler volunteered for the German Army. Hitler found the trenches of the

The Civil Rights Of African Americans
The term civil rights is very broad when it is to be defined. It has many different aspects as in to what
it can mean, from integration all the way to voting rights of African Americans. My main point is to
focus on the Selma Marches from Selma, Alabama to Montgomery, Alabama, but also to dig deeper
into it to find the significance of a certain day, the day was called Bloody Sunday. I want to find out
the historical situation behind the marchers who were beat and killed on that day and also look at John
Lewis, and the key part that he played into the events that happened on that day and to also look at the
reasoning behind the whole march. Racism is defined in many different variations and means different
things to certain people; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On March 7, 1965, a very famous five day, 54 long mile march of about 600 peaceful protestors took
place from Selma, Alabama to the state capital Montgomery, Alabama. This was a very peaceful
march that was caused by the Voting Rights Movement for African Americans in Selma. In Selma,
African Americans made up more than half the population, but only a mere two percent were actual
registered voters. Discrimination and intimidation tactics aimed at African American kept them from
registering and voting. The demonstrators marched to demand fairness in voter registration. With over
half the population of Selma being African American there is no reason or excuse besides ignorance
for why only two percent had the right to vote. To give sort of a background to leading up to the
march, in 1963 a group of community activists formed the Dallas County Improvement Association
Dallas County being the actual county that Selma is in. With the goal of having White and Colored
signs removed from public buildings, an investigation of police brutality against Africans Americans,
and increased access to jobs and voter registration. Local officials ignored the Association s concerns.
At the invitation of the Improvement Association, Dr. Martin Luther King and the Southern Christian
Leadership Conference also known as the (SCLC) chose Selma as a focus for civil rights
demonstrations in 1964. The mayor of

Social Media Integration Theory Of Isra Garcia (2010)
Social Media Integration Theory of Isra Garcia (2010)
According to Isra Garcia (2010), The exposure, feedback, engagement , connection and sharing that
Social Media platforms provides, creates a major changes for the traditional communication
understanding. The flow of communication is no longer considered as a one way street in which
audience received messages through the I communicate you receive mantra. Rather, Social Media
integration is seen as an interactive process in which there is more than two people communicating to
each other at the same time that enables same level information exchange among the users.
Social bookmarking sites such as blogs or web pages place content into an active eco system that
allows social media interaction such as Twitter or Facebook. This content is then partaked and spread
virally through the interaction made on the social media eco system. This refers to people being
connected to people through common groups, associations, and interests. Since this becomes the six
degrees of separation this interaction causes the viral effect. This social media platform allows the
interaction and the ability for the model to flow and become organic. Then, the social networking
platforms enable the connection with the public through the engagement approach caused by the two

The Graduated Response System
INTRODUCTION
The growth of internet and its ever increasing pervasiveness has caused extensive digitization of
copyrighted content not limited to a single format and subsequently an increase in online piracy. This
combined with the advent of P2P file sharing mechanisms as a massive means of infringement
practice has led to a paradigm shift in the approach to copyright infringement. Where unauthorized
copying of a work was earlier considered a means of increasing a work s market by stimulating its
network effects, it is today seen as an unfair practice, a hindrance to ... Show more content on

The decentralized nature of these systems meant that each user using the platform is capable of
sharing and downloading data, hence each user joining the network would add value to it (Network
Effects) which in turn makes the network more attractive to others. To add, most of these systems
were open source which led to the development of multiple file sharing clients on each platform. The
P2P networks saw viral adoption amongst the internet using population of world and as such became a
huge repository of copyrighted content available to be shared for free. The popularity of P2P systems
can be judged by the fact that
it was estimated that at one point of time 35% of all traffic on the internet was due to Bit Torrent. [1]
The following statistics indicate the effect of the emergence of P2P networks on the music industry [2]
1. In the decade since peer to peer (p2p) file sharing site Napster emerged in 1999, music sales in the
U.S. have dropped 47 percent, from $14.6 billion to $7.7 billion.
2. From 2004 through 2009 alone, approximately 30 billion songs were illegally downloaded on file
sharing networks.
3. NPD reports that only 37 percent of music acquired by U.S. consumers in 2009 was paid for.
4. Frontier Economics recently estimated that U.S. Internet users annually consume between $7 and
$20 billion worth of digitally pirated recorded music.

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Democracy In Mexico
Democracy is an essential factor in governance. If we govern democratically, we are likely to get more
gains in the society since everyone feels that they get fair treatment. Democracy, however, has its
weaknesses since it is not a perfect process. In this section, we are going to evaluate the strengths and
weaknesses of democracy in Mexico.
Strengths of democracy
Democracies allow people to select those that are governing them. After Salinas s leadership we see a
challenge of succession as he declares that he is not going to run for office. It also allows for nations
to create specific standards that a person must meet before they take leadership roles. The political
rule in Mexico was once renowned as the perfect dictatorship. The government was characterized by
regular elections, uninterrupted ruling by the same political party and widespread legitimacy. There
was no freedom or fairness with regards to political activism. Participation in politics was only
encouraged when it offered support to the ruling party, and there was repression when the objective of
political participation was initiating change. But with democracy in Mexico, there were changes in the
way of ruling. The reforms encouraged the opposition party to challenge the ruling party, and there
were a lot of opportunities for Mexicans to engage in political activism. A combination of ... Show

Characteristics Of Geoffrey Chaucer
+Chaucer as a Narrator his technique and style.
As Dryden had correctly remarked, Chaucer was a man of the most comprehensive nature, because he
took into the compass of The Canterbury Tales the various manners and humors of the English society
as an integrated whole in his age. Yes, the Morning Star of English Literature Geoffrey Chaucer, is
indeed a great story teller and his descriptive and narrative skills have been praised by critics over
time and again. He is very simple, natural and an easy going poet who is humorous, but his humor is
coarse, suggestive and often paradoxical. His description is very precise and his skills of narration
made Kittredge call him the greatest of all narrative poets, without any boundary of era or language.
The most unique characteristic feature of Chaucer s narration is his sense of artistic detachment from
his subjects. He is a creative artist which finds reflection in the variety of his methods of narration.

The earlier poets of the period dealt with characters but those were compressed and did not find any
scope for independent development, Chaucer on the other hand, very intelligently, chose to be a
background voice, while allowing his characters to grow. Chaucer is a narrator through the voice of
his characters. Similar techniques were adopted by writers like William Shakespeare and Henry
Fielding in the following periods. Chaucer s methodology was medieval but his objectives were
modern. Chaucer established himself as a modern narrator whose concern was not limited to narrating
the story only, but creating certain impressions on the minds of the readers. Chaucer handles the
material so excellent that by the addition of a few skillful touches, the interest of narrative has been
subordinated to the strong impression of a noble character , as said by

Violence In Media
The Effects of Violence in the Media
Julianna V. Cronan

Mrs. Bumgarner
Abstract
Many would say that violence in the media is the key problem in society today. However, an analysis
of violence in the media reveals that violence does create a more aggressive world, but that is not the
only plausible explanation. When violence is watched or participated in, the viewer s heart rate and
blood pressure increase and they have difficulty creating empathy for the others; they are more apt to
act out that anger. Others would argue that statistically violence has decreased in the world, and that
the violent behavior that is demonstrated by a few does not represent the whole of society. It is with
this reason that many say that there should be stricter ratings on video games and movies, and parents
should be better educated on ways to teach their children ways to deal with the violent content in a
healthy way.
The Effects of Violence in the Media
You are what you watch! An examination of violence in the media reveals that media violence does
create a more aggressive culture. Even though violent crime has decreased, violence in the media had
doubled or even tripled. This violent activities viewed by children and adults in video games increase
areas of the brain that control emotional arousal and decrease parts of the brain that deal with self
control and empathy. Studies show that children become more

What Ado About Nothing Research Paper
Shakespeare is one of the most famous play writers known to man, one of his many plays What Ado
About Nothing had over a million views. The classic version of What Ado About Nothing (the
original) is the better version because the lighting and sound changes based on the mood and creates
the mood.
To begin, the classical version uses the many sound techniques to create mood. In the play during the
party scene, joyful music starts up and everybody in the play dances. This supports that the sound
gives mood because this is the point where you are joyful because of the party.
To continue, the classical version is the best because besides the sound the lighting also creates mood.
In the play, Don John enters the party and the lights dimmer. This

Why Did Kitty Genovese s Neighbors Fail For Take Action...
On March 13, 1964, a woman named Kitty Genovese was stabbed repeatedly while several neighbors
were vaguely aware of the unfolding events occurring outside. The lack of action on the neighbors
part led to Genovese dying shortly after. Why did Kitty Genovese s neighbors fail to take action
quickly?
The psychologists John Darley and Bibb Latané (1968) were interested in the Genovese incident and
sought to find the answer to this psychological phenomenon. In their experiment, Darley and Latané
hypothesized that the higher number of bystanders would decrease helping behavior and vice versa.
The two manipulated the number of confederates during each trial and recorded the time it took for the
participants to report the simulated seizure. Their results confirmed that if were more confederates,
each participant would feel less pressured to help, leading to the discovery of the bystander effect.
The bystander effect is defined as the higher the number of people who notice an emergency, the less
of a chance that those bystanders will help the victim (as cited in Aronson, Wilson, Akert, Sommers,
2015). The importance of the bystander effect is unparalleled because it determines whether humans
will still help in a situation when there are other people available. Bystanders can deal with situations
ranging from the mundane to the dire, but what matters is the number of those who take action.
Inspired by the Genovese case, my partner and I wanted to see if the Tufts community, which

Ethical Dilemma of Hiv Disclosure in Intimate Relationships
HIV Prevention with Positives in Thailand: Ethical Dilemma of HIV Status Disclosure in intimate
relationship.
Abstract
Every year, there are about ten thousand new HIV infection cases in Thailand. The majority of new
HIV transmissions in Thailand have changed from commercial sex to intimate relationships while HIV
prevention generally focuses on self protection and universal precaution. In 2003, Center for Disease
Control and Prevention recommend to integrate HIV preventive measure into routine HIV care.
According to a survey of People Living with HIV and AIDS (PLWHA) in Thailand, 45% of HIV
infections came from transmission between spouses and 10% believed that their partners knew their
HIV status before having a relationship. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of these preventive measures aim at self protection of the general HIV negative population and
vulnerable groups. HIV positive people have not been included in prevention strategies and messages.
Fear of further stigmatization exclude concept of responsibility for health of sexual partner as an
alternative strategy and prevention program. (Bayer 1996) However research has shown that after
most PLWHA learn their HIV status they reduce their unprotected sex, though some still engage in
unsafe sex.(Janssen, Holtgrave, Valdiserri et al. 2001; Marks, Richardson, Crepaz et al. 2002) In 2003,
the Centers for Disease Control recommended the Prevention with Positives strategy to promote
sexual health among PLWHA attending HIV/AIDS clinic and to help reduce onward HIV
transmission.(Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 2003) Positive prevention was
recommended by UNAIDS (the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS); it has been
implemented in industrialized countries, and should be a priority in high prevalence regions.(Bunnell
R, J. and K 2006)
Advance in medical treatment, especially antiretroviral treatment have improved quality of life and
prolongs survival. Antiretroviral treatment also reduces the probability of HIV transmission by
reducing virus to undetectable level. (Vernazzaa, Hirschelb, Bernasconic et al. 2008)

Derik Parfit is a philosopher from Britain who concentrates on issues of personal identity, ethics,
relation and rationality. Parfit is of the argument that unless questions about identity are dealt with
then it is not possible to tackle specific crucial questions like memory, responsibility and matters as
survival. Personal identity is important as it helps in addressing certain vital questions. According to
Parfit, survival does not require maintaining or preserving of identity but it is a common relation that
needs pursuing apart from identity and the relation consider are those that deals with intentions and
memory. Parfit argues that survival is a matter of degree unlike identity. In his argument he aimed at
differentiating between identity and matters of survival. As for survival, whereby in his view it is
possible for a person to survive as two, the original person s relation to that of each of resulting people
is of great concern as it creates a sense in which a single person can survive as two. He assumes that if
one s brain is divided into two and planted into new bodies; both resulting persons will possess the
original person s character and memories of his life. On the other hand, as for identity it is a one one
(is all or nothing) relation but matters in survival need not be one one.
The most important feature that helps us treat survival as a matter of degree is the fact at admits for a

Medicine has Flourished Since the Introduction of the...
Since the introduction of the magnetic resonance imaging unit, diagnostic medicine has flourished.
The ability to see different pathologies in a detailed soft tissue image has helped guide doctors in
providing patients with better treatment and therefore a better prognosis. In many cases, magnetic
resonance imaging is the golden standard in diagnostic studies. This is especially true when studying
blood vessels. The majority of doctors turn to a magnetic resonance angiography(MRA) method
called bright blood imaging when they are concerned with any blood flowing vessels. A few main
areas of concern include vessels in the brain, neck, thoracic, abdominal aorta, renals, and vessels in the
legs called a run off . When doctors order an MRA using bright blood imaging they want to rule out
serious pathologies such as aneurysms, aorta dissection, or stenosis. Bright blood imaging uses a
strong magnetic field and specific pulse sequences. Below we will discuss three different techniques
and their own unique advantages and disadvantages. Time of flight(TOF) also called inflow
angiography, is a non invasive procedure that produces flow contrast. The more RF excitation pulses
used in an image plane the more saturated the spins become so we want to limit the amount of RF
pulses to the flowing spins by setting up thin slabs perpendicular to the vessels or blood flow. New
blood is always flowing in and out of the slice, and because the spins only receive a few RF pulses,

The Current Road Safety Measures
Introduction
There are a myriad of different dangers on any college campus and Ohio State is no different. If any of
these dangers can be minimized or eliminated they should be. Pedestrians on and around the campus
have made complaints about driver speed, and Ohio State wants to know if pedestrians in the campus
area are safe with the current road safety measures. The purpose of this experiment was to test the
speeds of cars on two major roads near Ohio States campus and decide if these speeds are safe.
The next sections outline the different areas of the experiment. Section 2 describes how this
experiment was carried out and what is necessary to replicate it. Section 3 presents the data collected
by the experiment, and section 4 analyzes the data. Lastly, section 5 summarizes the experiment and
makes suggestions for future experiments and studies.
Experimental Methodology
To determine the speed of the cars a 176ft distance was measured out and the time it took cars to pass
through the area was measured. The time was then recorded on a table of time intervals. The time
intervals fell between 1.33 seconds and 12 seconds. Every time a car s time was recorded, a tally was
placed in the appropriate row. Each row had a 2 mph speed interval, and this was how the speed of the
cars was determined. This table is in the appendix for reference and further understanding.
Items needed for this experiment include spray paint, a measuring wheel, a stopwatch, a pen, a
clipboard, and the

Narrative Style Of Zora Neale Hurston
7 2 Final Project 1 Zora Neale Hurston Zora Neale Hurston was one of the greatest authors in the
Harlem Renaissance era, and it saddened me to discover that she died before seizing the benefits of
her literary work of arts. Ms. Hurston was often criticized for her substantial use of southern country
dialect and folk dialogue; she was a master at creating realistic African American works of fiction.
Hurston s style of narrative is divided into direct and indirect dialogue. In her writing, she would
employ a third person narrative voice that was vastly intelligent with scholarly techniques such as
formal grammar, rich vocabulary, vivid imagery, and allegories to define her settings, locations, and
portrayals. Contrariwise, in the same piece, she would display a narrative voice in first person and
third person using slang language, informal grammar, and irregular speech patterns. Through Hurston
s fictitious creations it enables us to appreciate how significant linguistic choices are used to enrich the
production of contemporary literature and how different dualistic styles of narrative can work together
in depicting the narration within that story. Hurston was a talented anthropologist with an excellent
grasp of storytelling, her realistic artistical writing and deep love for her community and culture
showed with every written word in her literary toolbox. Hurston s passion for studying human
behavior, their beliefs, customs, and humanity has assisted in her unadulterated

Eminent Domain Case Analysis
This seems to be the fundamental issue underlying the paper: a pernicious sense of what is valuable.
Multiple times, the paper asserts that the be all, end all metric of value ought to be economic value,
specifically the value derived from synergistic arrangements of real property. But viewing a situation
through this lens dehumanizes the situation. It leads to situations where we can, with a straight face,
describe human settlement as clutter to be disposed of. Indeed, alternative metrics of value exist which
add nuance to the situation. Sentimental or cultural value, for example, may be entirely at odds with
economic value. Were a city to grow and encompass sacred Native American land, would it not be fair
to consider such interests alongside those of the capital class? What about a family with ancestors ...

One of the crucial assumptions underlying the paper s analysis is that a redevelopment effort will
necessarily create positive economic value. But what if it does not? Kelo serves as a perfect example.
What was supposed to be a profitable facility is currently an empty lot collecting storm debris. At least
with eminent domain, voters have some form of cathartic recourse. They can vote out the individuals
who made the decision to condemn their homes for an ultimately disastrous product. In a callable fee
or floating fee situation, voters have little ability to seek redress, instead nurturing feelings of political
disenfranchisement and anti establishment resentment. Further, the threat of losing their seats
incentivizes politicians to carefully examine any proposed development and only exercise their power
when reasonably sure of its success, minimizing potential mishaps. Thus, voters are both empowered
and incentives are put in place to encourage careful decision making concerning development

So in different types of situation we will get different types of return depending on which type of
investment it is and what the economic situation is at the time (www.xpresstrade.com).
Portfolio Management:
By selecting securities that have little relationship with each other, an investor is able to reduce
relevant risk. Ideally, one would combine their securities in a way that will reduce relevant risk, such
as diversification, to optimally manage their portfolio. The decision to invest excess cash in
marketable securities involves not only the amount to invest but also the type of securities to invest.
To some extent, the two decisions are interdependent. Both should be based on an evaluation of
expected net cash flows and the uncertainty associated with these cash flows. In future cash flow
patterns are known with reasonable certainty and the yield curve is upward sloping in the sense of
long term securities yielding more than shorter term ones, a company may wish to arrange its portfolio
so that securities will mature approximately when the funds will be needed. Such a cash flow pattern
gives the firm a great deal of flexibility in maximizing the average return on the entire portfolio, for it
is unlikely that significant amounts of securities will have to be sold unexpectedly.
Controlling the risk
The simple and timeless definition of risk is the chance of suffering a loss. Portfolio management is
largely about managing risk. All

Neighbour Rosicky And A Rose For Emily
In the two short stories, A Rose for Emily and Neighbor Rosicky , the authors portray a women s role
in family and society similarly. Faulkner and Cather both show the day to day lives of women as the
cook, cleaner, and manager of their household. In society, women take on a gender role that dictates
the kind of behaviors that are considered normal. Faulkner and Cather also assert that it is not normal
for a woman to work outside of the home. In fact, working outside the home is frowned upon as a
form of aberrant behavior. A woman is to be the house manager, a wife and mother, and to pass down
her knowledge to the youth.
In each of the stories it states that woman are in charge of keeping the house in order. When Emily
vanished from her house, leaving only her male servant in charge, a putrid smell had started to
develop. The women of the town gossiped and whispered, Just as if a man any man could keep a
kitchen properly (Rose, 3). The women believed that only females were qualified to maintain and keep
the house clean. John s mother, Mary, was known for her exquisite cooking. As described in the
passage, Mary took out of the oven a pan of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the short story A Rose for Emily it reads, None of the young men were quite good enough for Miss

that Emily was far too good to marry, so she never did marry anyone; unfortunately, this was frowned
upon. Furthermore, the short story Neighbor Rosicky is a bit more enlightening. We are taught that
women are responsible for the development and outcome of their kids. In the short story Neighbor
Rosicky it quotes, Dat widder woman bring her daughters up very nice (Rosicky, 2). Notice that it is
not the father they credit, it is the mother. Both short stories suggest that women s role in society is to

Malnutrition And Human Development
In 1990 the very important first Human Development Reported a new proposal for promoting human
development. Human development is developing the richness of human life. Human development
focuses on developing people s lives rather than assuming the economical growth. Opportunities about
human development is all about giving individuals more independence to live their lives to their full
potential. For instance, teaching a young man would help build his skills, but there would be no sense
in doing that if he is denied access of getting a job opportunity. Human development is about having
more choices and more opportunities . The process is to help develop a good environment for people
and their families and to help develop them to their full potential.
Malnutrition contributes to undernutrition and overnutrition and is also a deficiency of nutrition.
Agents that cause malnutrition are poor diet and repeated infections which is particularly in
underprivileged populations. Inadequate diet and disease are linked in to your common guideline
living and environmental conditions, and are linked in with meeting the primary needs such as
housing, food, and health care. Malnutrition is a health outcome as well as a risk factor for diseases.
There are over two billion individuals in the world that suffer from many forms of malnutrition.
Malnutrition is an basic cause of death of over 2.5 million children each year. Undernutrition reports
for 12 percent of the global burden of disease

abilities in the force within him like being able to fight a Sith master and protect his friends at the
same time. Also, Yoda can live for very long periods of time. I think Wrede made him have that ability
so that he can teach the Jedi everything they know. Without this ability I think the Jedi would be in
trouble and lose the Clone Wars. I also think the author added Yoda so he could protect the galaxy
alongside his fellow Jedi masters and his students from the Sith. Yoda could also help the

Woman Wang
Death of Woman Wang by Jonathan D. Spence is a historical monograph set in the Qing dynasty
China. It takes place primarily in Tancheng county, located in Shantung province. It chronicles
everyday life, principle relationships vertical and horizontal, and the structure Qing society functioned
on in this period that lasted from 1644 to 1911. The Chinese patriarchal norm established the
hierarchical relationships, which direction they tended to go in, and the restraints or advantages
experienced by different people. Spence uses 3 main sources to immerse the reader in Tancheng life. P

The story of Woman Wang is a real event recounted by county magistrate Huang who had to deal with
the many details, trial and investigation procedures needed for this case. Woman Wang was unhappy
with her marriage to her husband Jen. She was living in poverty and one day in 1671, she ran away
with another man. A woman leaving her relationship without full consensus from the husband wasn t
an option for woman, as it was deemed unlawful in society. The only circumstances in which a woman
could leave her husband in Qing society was: if the man mutilated her, or if she was forced to commit
sexual acts with others. There was not many desirable places to relocate because of geographical
challenges(as a woman with bound feet) and the danger of certain cities. The only considerable option
was Tancheng, which also was a risk because of the regulations and controlled flow of people into and
out of the city. 5 Travelers were stopped and questioned on their motives and innkeepers took a
monopoly on hotels, threatening guests who tried to take cheaper rooms in other buildings. Wang and
her lover were essentially on the run, and she was avoiding punishment, as she, and her lover for
committing adultery, were on the wrong side of the law. Wang s lover shortly abandoned her while
they were fugitives on the road. She now had to

Diagnosis And Treatment Of Prostate Cancer
When we have diseases or don t feel well, we tend to seek treatments and try to cure it as soon as
possible. However, what if there is no reliable treatment or nearly no treatment available? Then, the
only option is to do research. Life can be really difficult and no one wants any sickness or diagnosed
with such a hard to cure disease like cancer. Prostate Cancer is a known cancer that happens to men
only and a lot of men in the U.S are diagnosed with it, and happens to male s reproductive system.
Specifically speaking, it is a gland found in the most private area of a man. In the following
paragraphs, I will be explaining why we need to find a way to combat prostate cancer, how to detect
this cancer at early stages, and the risks associated with prostate cancer.
Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of death by cancer for men in the U.S. It mostly affects
African American men than men of other races. In addition, those men who suffer from prostate
cancer would not know that they are affected until they participate in a health checkup or conduct self
diagnoses. A healthy prostate gland should be about the size of a walnut or smaller depend on
individuals. According, to a cancer research center stated about why men are more likely to get cancer
... men were more likely to die from any of the cancers investigated in the report, and ... were also
more likely to develop the disease in the first place (Arney, 2009). Also, men are more likely to die
from any kind of cancer

Pepe Research Paper
For my final art project, I created my own version of the popular meme known as Pepe. Collecting
rare Pepes was a famous trend that took the internet by storm. Though the trend has died down now, I
wanted to make my own version to call my own. Since it would be the only one ever created, it would
rank among the rarest Pepes ever created. I ve based my Pepe on one of the first ones ever made,
created by artist Matt Furie. If he hadn t created the Pepe, my final art project would have been
completely different. Matt Furie s art is almost all very colorful and strange, practically abstract. His
art way my inspiration for my project. This is very similar to my creation. My Pepe is both colorful
and abstract, which I hope enforces my love for colors and randomness. My artist, Matt Furie, was
born in 1979 in. He is still alive today. Since to most he is not considered a big artist, his most known
works being Feels Good Man and Sad Pepe, it wasn t easy finding information on him. Based on his

Throughout the project, it was mostly smooth sailing with a few minor bumps in the road with mixing
colors and smudging paint. I used the principles of variety, line, shape, contrast and emphasis, and
infused them into my project to create something I can describe as magnificent. My favorite thing
about the Rave Pepe is the silly randomness of the markings, lines and dots spread across his face. To
me, the liveliness and energy that I ve captivated in my project is astonishing. Since there is only one
of its kind, my Rave Pepe is truly one of the rarest Pepes of them

Actors Must Go Beyond Immitation and Become the Character
What is acting, who are people which we can name actors? In fact we are all actors. Every single
human being is an actor in his everyday life. Yet acting can be subdivided into two parts depending on
a professional basis or daily one. Within the professional acting there are two major categories,
Imitation and the art of becoming. Imitation, is when an actor tries to mime or imitate a certain
character by talking the same way and making similar physical gestures that the character him self
would normally do. Yet imitating is not enough because although the actor mimes a character, he does
not feel like him thus making it hard for the audience to believe what they are ... Show more content

The most important factor under physiological instrument is the voice, which includes how to breathe,
speak, project and control the many powers that one can control with his voice. Furthermore, another
main factor to be considered is the physiological instrument. This instrument is used to control ones
physical relaxation, muscular control, economy of action, and expressive rhythms and movement
patterns. All these help the character maintain an act or hold stage throughout an entire performance.
Imagination and surprise are very important weapons or power for an actor. Helping the actor to bring
reality and spontaneity to the stage.
Yet the most important of all is discipline. For the life of an actor is not a very easy life to lead. They
require a lot of work, concentration, and patience at the most obscure hours of the day. They should be
in control of themselves and know how to deal with people and most importantly how to deal with his
co workers. Being a disciplined actor does not mean slavery, yet he or she is required to know how to
work rigorously to develop his or her physiological and psychological instrument.
Furthermore, another important factor is the actor s approach. Under this category, there are two
traditional methods that actors usually follow. The first is the external or technical and the internal or
truthful. The external method is when the actor acts out physically the role without regard to personal
feelings. Believers in

The Great Leaps Westward
The reasoning behind the studies the RGA wanted to conduct was because they have reason to suspect
that there are problems that can potentially cause complications with the Great Leaps Westward. Like
a second shadow, the most noteworthy detail was the FYC having a wide spectrum of influence over
Ryanites in places such as the Cornhusker State. The results of this are arguably stupendous: a vast
majority of the Ryanites in these states believe that they should instead collaborate with the FYC and
their allies by offering aid to the FYC s endeavors in both the Plaid Prohibition and Brotzmanskrieg.
To make matters worse, the number of Ryanites sympathetic to the FYC greatly outnumbers the
number of Ryanites who are in support of the Great Leaps Westward, as well as Catholic
Brotzmanskrieg factions like the RGA or the Underground. Indeed, these Ryanites who decided to
align themselves with the FYC, also gave the FYC the privilege to evangelize in their Catholic schools
and Catholic high schools, provided that the FYC offers them material goods and prestige and power.
By doing so, these Ryanite collaborators allowed their fellow Kameraden to commit apostasy and join
the Protestant sect of their choosing. Like the temptation of Eve by the serpent in the Garden of Eden,
consuming the delicious fruit grown from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, from which it
caused Man to be inflicted with Original Sin, the FYC did not always keep their end of the bargain

  • 3. Mommy Moments Research Paper I have a lot of proud mommy moments, but one of the most recent moments is when my oldest daughter, Brianna joined the Army. When Brianna graduated high school, she really didn t know what to do with her life. She has always been very interested in working on vehicles, but she has also been interested in coaching basketball and becoming an Athletic Director. She thought that being a mechanic would just be a hobby and would just go to college, since that is what all of her friends were doing. That fall she started college at CSC and was doing very good. She knew something was missing from her life and just wasn t as interested in college as she thought she would be. She started to party and go to class less and less. Then, that Christmas break ... It s hard to explain the rain there, kind of a warm rain that would come and go all day long. The bleachers were almost full, but we still got really good seats. For about an hour everyone just sat there looking at an open field with a bunch of trees in the distance. Everyone kept looking around to see where all of the soldiers were, but there were a few drill sergeants walking around and that was it. My son Cole said, oh great mom, we re at the wrong place . Then, all of a sudden there were different colored smoke bombs being launched from the trees in the distance and over the loud speakers they were playing Toby Keith s song, Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue. When we looked out into the once completely field there was just various colored smoke everywhere. Then all of a sudden, the drill sergeants started to run towards the trees (I m assuming, it was hard to see with all of the smoke). The smoke started to die down and we could see hundreds of soldiers running toward us. There were so many of them, it was impossible to find Brianna in the sea of camouflage. Everyone was clapping and cheering, then I look over at my other daughter, Alli and she was just bawling. I said, what s wrong ? and she said, I don t see Brianna . Then my smarty pants son Cole ... • 6. The Civil Rights Of African Americans The term civil rights is very broad when it is to be defined. It has many different aspects as in to what it can mean, from integration all the way to voting rights of African Americans. My main point is to focus on the Selma Marches from Selma, Alabama to Montgomery, Alabama, but also to dig deeper into it to find the significance of a certain day, the day was called Bloody Sunday. I want to find out the historical situation behind the marchers who were beat and killed on that day and also look at John Lewis, and the key part that he played into the events that happened on that day and to also look at the reasoning behind the whole march. Racism is defined in many different variations and means different things to certain people; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On March 7, 1965, a very famous five day, 54 long mile march of about 600 peaceful protestors took place from Selma, Alabama to the state capital Montgomery, Alabama. This was a very peaceful march that was caused by the Voting Rights Movement for African Americans in Selma. In Selma, African Americans made up more than half the population, but only a mere two percent were actual registered voters. Discrimination and intimidation tactics aimed at African American kept them from registering and voting. The demonstrators marched to demand fairness in voter registration. With over half the population of Selma being African American there is no reason or excuse besides ignorance for why only two percent had the right to vote. To give sort of a background to leading up to the march, in 1963 a group of community activists formed the Dallas County Improvement Association Dallas County being the actual county that Selma is in. With the goal of having White and Colored signs removed from public buildings, an investigation of police brutality against Africans Americans, and increased access to jobs and voter registration. Local officials ignored the Association s concerns. At the invitation of the Improvement Association, Dr. Martin Luther King and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference also known as the (SCLC) chose Selma as a focus for civil rights demonstrations in 1964. Social Media Integration Theory Of Isra Garcia (2010) Social Media Integration Theory of Isra Garcia (2010) According to Isra Garcia (2010), The exposure, feedback, engagement , connection and sharing that Social Media platforms provides, creates a major changes for the traditional communication understanding. The flow of communication is no longer considered as a one way street in which audience received messages through the I communicate you receive mantra. Rather, Social Media integration is seen as an interactive process in which there is more than two people communicating to each other at the same time that enables same level information exchange among the users. Social bookmarking sites such as blogs or web pages place content into an active eco system that allows social media interaction such as Twitter or Facebook. This content is then partaked and spread virally through the interaction made on the social media eco system. This refers to people being connected to people through common groups, associations, and interests. Since this becomes the six degrees of separation this interaction causes the viral effect. This social media platform allows the interaction and the ability for the model to flow and become organic. If we govern democratically, we are likely to get more gains in the society since everyone feels that they get fair treatment. Democracy, however, has its weaknesses since it is not a perfect process. In this section, we are going to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of democracy in Mexico. Strengths of democracy Democracies allow people to select those that are governing them. After Salinas s leadership we see a challenge of succession as he declares that he is not going to run for office. It also allows for nations to create specific standards that a person must meet before they take leadership roles. The political rule in Mexico was once renowned as the perfect dictatorship. The government was characterized by regular elections, uninterrupted ruling by the same political party and widespread legitimacy. There was no freedom or fairness with regards to political activism. Participation in politics was only encouraged when it offered support to the ruling party, and there was repression when the objective of political participation was initiating change. But with democracy in Mexico, there were changes in the way of ruling. The reforms encouraged the opposition party to challenge the ruling party, and there were a lot of opportunities for Mexicans to engage in political activism. A combination of ... • 10. Characteristics Of Geoffrey Chaucer +Chaucer as a Narrator his technique and style. As Dryden had correctly remarked, Chaucer was a man of the most comprehensive nature, because he took into the compass of The Canterbury Tales the various manners and humors of the English society as an integrated whole in his age. Yes, the Morning Star of English Literature Geoffrey Chaucer, is indeed a great story teller and his descriptive and narrative skills have been praised by critics over time and again. Chaucer s methodology was medieval but his objectives were modern. Chaucer established himself as a modern narrator whose concern was not limited to narrating the story only, but creating certain impressions on the minds of the readers. • 12. Violence In Media The Effects of Violence in the Media Julianna V. Cronan Alexander Early College 4th Block Honors English Mrs. Bumgarner Abstract Many would say that violence in the media is the key problem in society today. However, an analysis of violence in the media reveals that violence does create a more aggressive world, but that is not the only plausible explanation. When violence is watched or participated in, the viewer s heart rate and blood pressure increase and they have difficulty creating empathy for the others; they are more apt to act out that anger. Others would argue that statistically violence has decreased in the world, and that the violent behavior that is demonstrated by a few does not represent the whole of society. It is with this reason that many say that there should be stricter ratings on video games and movies, and parents should be better educated on ways to teach their children ways to deal with the violent content in a healthy way. The Effects of Violence in the Media You are what you watch! An examination of violence in the media reveals that media violence does create a more aggressive culture. Even though violent crime has decreased, violence in the media had doubled or even tripled. This violent activities viewed by children and adults in video games increase areas of the brain that control emotional arousal and decrease parts of the brain that deal with self control and empathy. On March 13, 1964, a woman named Kitty Genovese was stabbed repeatedly while several neighbors were vaguely aware of the unfolding events occurring outside. The lack of action on the neighbors part led to Genovese dying shortly after. Why did Kitty Genovese s neighbors fail to take action quickly? The psychologists John Darley and Bibb Latané (1968) were interested in the Genovese incident and sought to find the answer to this psychological phenomenon. In their experiment, Darley and Latané hypothesized that the higher number of bystanders would decrease helping behavior and vice versa. The two manipulated the number of confederates during each trial and recorded the time it took for the participants to report the simulated seizure. Their results confirmed that if were more confederates, each participant would feel less pressured to help, leading to the discovery of the bystander effect. The bystander effect is defined as the higher the number of people who notice an emergency, the less of a chance that those bystanders will help the victim (as cited in Aronson, Wilson, Akert, Sommers, 2015). The importance of the bystander effect is unparalleled because it determines whether humans will still help in a situation when there are other people available. Bystanders can deal with situations ranging from the mundane to the dire, but what matters is the number of those who take action. Parfit is of the argument that unless questions about identity are dealt with then it is not possible to tackle specific crucial questions like memory, responsibility and matters as survival. Personal identity is important as it helps in addressing certain vital questions. According to Parfit, survival does not require maintaining or preserving of identity but it is a common relation that needs pursuing apart from identity and the relation consider are those that deals with intentions and memory. Parfit argues that survival is a matter of degree unlike identity. In his argument he aimed at differentiating between identity and matters of survival. As for survival, whereby in his view it is possible for a person to survive as two, the original person s relation to that of each of resulting people is of great concern as it creates a sense in which a single person can survive as two. He assumes that if one s brain is divided into two and planted into new bodies; both resulting persons will possess the original person s character and memories of his life. On the other hand, as for identity it is a one one (is all or nothing) relation but matters in survival need not be one one. The ability to see different pathologies in a detailed soft tissue image has helped guide doctors in providing patients with better treatment and therefore a better prognosis. In many cases, magnetic resonance imaging is the golden standard in diagnostic studies. This is especially true when studying blood vessels. The majority of doctors turn to a magnetic resonance angiography(MRA) method called bright blood imaging when they are concerned with any blood flowing vessels. A few main areas of concern include vessels in the brain, neck, thoracic, abdominal aorta, renals, and vessels in the legs called a run off . When doctors order an MRA using bright blood imaging they want to rule out serious pathologies such as aneurysms, aorta dissection, or stenosis. Bright blood imaging uses a strong magnetic field and specific pulse sequences. Below we will discuss three different techniques and their own unique advantages and disadvantages. Time of flight(TOF) also called inflow angiography, is a non invasive procedure that produces flow contrast. The more RF excitation pulses used in an image plane the more saturated the spins become so we want to limit the amount of RF pulses to the flowing spins by setting up thin slabs perpendicular to the vessels or blood flow. New blood is always flowing in and out of the slice, and because the spins only receive a few RF pulses, signal is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Pedestrians on and around the campus have made complaints about driver speed, and Ohio State wants to know if pedestrians in the campus area are safe with the current road safety measures. The purpose of this experiment was to test the speeds of cars on two major roads near Ohio States campus and decide if these speeds are safe. The next sections outline the different areas of the experiment. Section 2 describes how this experiment was carried out and what is necessary to replicate it. Section 3 presents the data collected by the experiment, and section 4 analyzes the data. Lastly, section 5 summarizes the experiment and makes suggestions for future experiments and studies. Experimental Methodology To determine the speed of the cars a 176ft distance was measured out and the time it took cars to pass through the area was measured. The time was then recorded on a table of time intervals. The time intervals fell between 1.33 seconds and 12 seconds. Every time a car s time was recorded, a tally was placed in the appropriate row. Narrative Style Of Zora Neale Hurston 7 2 Final Project 1 Zora Neale Hurston Zora Neale Hurston was one of the greatest authors in the Harlem Renaissance era, and it saddened me to discover that she died before seizing the benefits of her literary work of arts. Ms. Hurston was often criticized for her substantial use of southern country dialect and folk dialogue; she was a master at creating realistic African American works of fiction. Hurston s style of narrative is divided into direct and indirect dialogue. In her writing, she would employ a third person narrative voice that was vastly intelligent with scholarly techniques such as formal grammar, rich vocabulary, vivid imagery, and allegories to define her settings, locations, and portrayals. Contrariwise, in the same piece, she would display a narrative voice in first person and third person using slang language, informal grammar, and irregular speech patterns. Through Hurston s fictitious creations it enables us to appreciate how significant linguistic choices are used to enrich the production of contemporary literature and how different dualistic styles of narrative can work together in depicting the narration within that story. Multiple times, the paper asserts that the be all, end all metric of value ought to be economic value, specifically the value derived from synergistic arrangements of real property. But viewing a situation through this lens dehumanizes the situation. It leads to situations where we can, with a straight face, describe human settlement as clutter to be disposed of. Indeed, alternative metrics of value exist which add nuance to the situation. Sentimental or cultural value, for example, may be entirely at odds with economic value. My Pepe is both colorful and abstract, which I hope enforces my love for colors and randomness. My artist, Matt Furie, was born in 1979 in. He is still alive today. Since to most he is not considered a big artist, his most known works being Feels Good Man and Sad Pepe, it wasn t easy finding information on him. Based on his art, he seems to be a very creative and strange person. What we know is that he first created the original Pepe, Feels Good Man, in 06 in an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My influence, Matt Furie, gave me amazing examples of how to use these things in all of his computer creations. I believe I successfully showed this to the audience with the creation of my Pepe. Throughout the project, it was mostly smooth sailing with a few minor bumps in the road with mixing colors and smudging paint. I used the principles of variety, line, shape, contrast and emphasis, and infused them into my project to create something I can describe as magnificent. My favorite thing about the Rave Pepe is the silly randomness of the markings, lines and dots spread across his face. To me, the liveliness and energy that I ve captivated in my project is astonishing. Since there is only one of its kind, my Rave Pepe is truly one of the rarest Pepes of them ... Within the professional acting there are two major categories, Imitation and the art of becoming. Imitation, is when an actor tries to mime or imitate a certain character by talking the same way and making similar physical gestures that the character him self would normally do. Helping the actor to bring reality and spontaneity to the stage. Yet the most important of all is discipline. For the life of an actor is not a very easy life to lead. • 34. The Great Leaps Westward The reasoning behind the studies the RGA wanted to conduct was because they have reason to suspect that there are problems that can potentially cause complications with the Great Leaps Westward. Like a second shadow, the most noteworthy detail was the FYC having a wide spectrum of influence over Ryanites in places such as the Cornhusker State. The results of this are arguably stupendous: a vast majority of the Ryanites in these states believe that they should instead collaborate with the FYC and their allies by offering aid to the FYC s endeavors in both the Plaid Prohibition and Brotzmanskrieg. To make matters worse, the number of Ryanites sympathetic to the FYC greatly outnumbers the number of Ryanites who are in support of the Great Leaps Westward, as well as Catholic Brotzmanskrieg factions like the RGA or the Underground. Indeed, these Ryanites who decided to align themselves with the FYC, also gave the FYC the privilege to evangelize in their Catholic schools and Catholic high schools, provided that the FYC offers them material goods and prestige and power. By doing so, these Ryanite collaborators allowed their fellow Kameraden to commit apostasy and join the Protestant sect of their choosing. Like the temptation of Eve by the serpent in the Garden of Eden, consuming the delicious fruit grown from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, from which it caused Man to be inflicted with Original Sin, the FYC did not always keep their end of the bargain with the ...
