2. Social Conflict Theory Research Paper
The Structural Functional theory is a macro oriented theory that regards society as
a complex system. In this system, each part is interdependent and works together
so that society functions as a whole. Every part has a role that is necessary for the
good of the overall functioning of that society. Society is connected by a social
consensus which is an agreed upon set of guidelines for the society. This theory
strives for equilibrium and promotes stability and solidarity. It believes that social
stability is necessary to have a strong society.
The Social Conflict theory is a macro oriented theory that views social life as a
competition for limited resources. This theory sees society as a competition among
individuals for social, political, and material resources. Examples of these resources
include political power, housing, leisure time, and money. The social conflict theory
sees the inequality in society and is constantly undergoing change. This theory
believes that the wealthy or elite controls the poor and weak, which benefits the
wealthy at the expense of the poor. It believes that far reaching change is necessary
to eliminate social inequality. The social conflict theory emphasizes that the
powerful groups use their power to take advantage of the groups or individuals with
less power. Social conflict theory shows how factors such as age, race, class, and sex

behaviors and then tend to behave based on what they believe and not necessarily
what is true. Therefore, society is believed to be socially constructed through how

social reality and how people construct their roles as they interact through meanings

3. Jim Crow, By John Crow Essay
Jim Crow was a character portrayed in Minstrelsy shows to be goofy, drunk, lazy,
and uneducated. This character set a very harsh stereo type for African
Americans. Jim Crow became a common racial slur. According to Dr. David
Pilgrim of Ferris State University by 1838, the term Jim Crow was being used as a
slur for African Americans which was not as offensive as nigger, but more similar
to coon or darkie (Pilgrim, David, Dr. Who Was Jim Crow. ). According to PBS
Jim Crow was named after a popular 19th century minstrel song that stereotyped
African Americans, Jim Crow came to personify the system of government
sanctioned racial oppression and segregation in the United States ( The Rise and
Fall of Jim Crow. PBS.). The Jim Crow character created by Thomas Dartmouth
Daddy Rice along with the song and dance created an image or stereotype of the
African Americanman that helped reinforce the belief that African Americans were
lazy, stupid, and overall less human. Therefore, they were unworthy of integration
(Pilgrim, David, Dr. Who Was Jim Crow. ). This idea set the stage for the Jim Crow
laws.
The song Jim Crow written by Rice started off like this
Come listen all you galls and boys,
I m going to sing a little song,
My name is Jim Crow.
Weel about and turn about and do jis so,
Eb ry time I weel about I jump Jim Crow.
As shown above even the lyrics of the song had an accent to them that portrayed a
person who was uneducated. One of the Jim Crow

This paper looks at the movie; A Dangerous Method directed by David Cronenberge
is based on true life events that happened on the eve of the World War 1. This movie
brings out the theories, techniques, and the central characters in the early history of
psychoanalysis. It brings out the effectiveness of psychoanalysis method and shows
the risks and dangers encountered when entering the unconscious mind. This movie
takes a look at these through the life of Carl Jung who was one of the founding
fathers of psychoanalysis. It also takes a glimpse into the turbulent relationship
between a doctor, his mentor, and his patient. The paper will begin by giving a short

Jung and Dr. Feud start having a father son relationship. Dr. Feud hopes that Dr.
Jung will be his successor but a deep rift develops when Dr. Jung moves away from
Dr. Feud s belief that even though psychoanalysis can reveal the cause of
psychological problems, it cannot cure a patient. He was also willing to go beyond
Freud s concept psychic determinism and sexuality, and bring ideas that include
religion, premonitions, supernatural, and telepathy.
This movie brings out some interesting facts about psychoanalysis. Doctors in this
field are different from others because they attempt to have rationale on the
irrationality of emotions. The main aim is to analyze why behaviors deviate from the
normal norm. This film shows a main idea of clinical psychology. People can go
through profound amount of suffering which from outside sources or self imposed.
This movie successfully brings out the depth of emotional suffering that one can go
through and brings out therapy in action. Cronenberg brings out the extent of
sufferings that a patient goes through. Sabina s behavior is seen moving from
relative calmness into a violent behavior. Her eyes are seen poping out of her head,
her limbs convulse, and her jaw spasms in a non human way. Her mind tortures her in
a way that this manifests physically. Dr. Jung uses his treatment talking cure to help
Sabina find out the source of her hysteria. This treatment helps her answer the
question why her mind is torturing
5. The Drug Of Drug Abuse
America has been fighting drug abuse for over a century. Four Presidents have
waged a War on Drugs and unfortunately, this war continues to be lost at an
alarming magnitude. Drug abusers continue to fill our courts, hospitals, and
prisons. The drug trade causes violent crime that ravages our neighborhoods.
Children of drug abusers are neglected, abused, and even abandoned. The current
methods of dealing with this issue are not working. Our society needs to
implement new and effective laws and programs to address the problem of drug
abuse. Drugs first surfaced in the United States in the 1800 s, with the use of
opium during and after the Civil War. Cocaine followed in the 1880 s and the
abuse of these drugs at the end of the 19th century reached epidemic proportions.
Morphine was discovered in 1906 and soon became a huge problem as well. Drugs
were no longer being viewed as harmless remedies for aches and pains. The Harrison
Narcotics Act, passed in 1914, was the United States first federal drug policy. The
aggressively enforced act restricted the manufacture and sale of marijuana, cocaine,
heroin, and morphine. During this time there was a worldwide movement limiting
opium and coca crops and by World War II, American drug use had become a rare,
marginal social problem. During the 1960s, drugs like marijuana, amphetamines, and
psychedelics were developed and a new generation was exposed to drugs. Marijuana
became fashionable on college campuses and users sought to expand

Internal Analysis 1)A good place to start with an internal firm analysis is to
catalog the assets a firm has. Make a list of the firm s tangible assets. Then, make a
separate list of its intangible assets. MGM Resort International owns and operates

locations such as; the Bellagio, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay Circus, MGM Grand

beyond the asset base and identify specific capabilities or core competencies of the
firm that are helpful in sustaining its competitive advantage? MGM resort
International s competitive advantage hinges on having a healthy liquidity position
and having a diversified brand portfolio. MGM Resort International has to maintain
a good liquidity position so they can continue to invest in its operations and
branding which are considered to be their core capability. The first core competency
that I will discuss is high quality customer service . So how will MGM Resort
International achieve this competency? They will utilize their diversified products
and their liquidity position to invest in current capabilities, operational efficiency and
maintain a strong brand portfolio. If MGM does all of those things, the result should
be high quality customer service. (Luiza
7. Alcohol And The Liver Research Paper
Alcohol can have negative effects on liver function. When alcohol is consumed the
body starts trying to metabolize it but has no way of doing so. The liver then has to
work detoxify and remove the alcohol from the bloodstream. Once the liver finishes
the oxidation process, the alcohol becomes water and carbon dioxide. If the alcohol
accumulates in the body, it may destroy cells and organs. The oxidative metabolism
prevents this from happening. When too much alcohol is ingested at once, the toxins
take a toll on the body, starting with the liver. The oxidative metabolism of the
alcohol creates molecules that lead to a condition called fatty liver. Research
supports that fatty liver, the early stage of alcoholic liver disease, develops in nearly
8. The Machine Stops And Technology Today
Even though technology in The Machine Stops and technology today have many
differences, many characteristics are in common. The futuristic modern technology
in The Machine Stops is very dependable as well as modern day technology, except
that in The Machine Stops everything is machine generated. Most people today
communicate on the cell phone or text messages. Frequently, people may be
contacted over video messages as well. In The Machine Stops the most common way
to communicate is by pictures or video messages with little face to face contact.
Technologyused in both case scenarios is very reliant for humans. For example,
humans rely on the internet to look up a question if we don t know the answer. In
The Machine Stops , they often did not have to ask questions because the
technology already did it for them. In relation to the story, they refer to when the
machine stops as a technological death , which we can relate to the same phrase in a
way that if humans did not have the access to technological works, most of our world
would not be able to function. People would struggle with communication with their
families, difficulties to their jobs, and wouldn t be aware of what was happening in
the world.
The novel The Machine Stops is a dystopian future in which humans do not have the
ability to live on the earth s surface. The humans then, lived underground in a bee
hive like machine only having access to artificial air and eating techno food. The
9. Perception In 12 Angry Men
The 1957 film 12 Angry Men directed by Sidney Lumet explores the subject matter
of perception in human beings. By using concepts from the Theory of Knowledge,
the film can be dissected by various philosophical and psychological angles. A jury
of twelve must decide the fate of a young Hispanic boy who has been accused of
murdering his father. After the trial, eleven of the twelve jurors are convinced he is
guilty only Henry Fondabelieves otherwise. The whole film then moves on to
explore the individual psychologies of each juror and reason behind why they
chose to cast their votes in such a way. Slowly Fonda begins to turn them round
with the aid of a few other jurors who use their knowledge, previous experiences and
reason as stimulus for doubt. In this is essay I will be discussing emotion, reason and

Problems faced when the jurors attempted to reach the final agreement, emotions,
sense perception and reason were held highly accountable. It allowed insight into
particular evidence held different viewpoints and biased opinions that challenged
the jurors to rely mainly on logical reasoning to arrive at the best conclusion. The
events expressed in this film showed the challenges and flaws in judging a person
to be one sided. The extent of reason being highly favored more was prevalent. They
might not have a conclusive answer, but through reason and logic, Fonda was able to
create reasonable doubt that significantly changed the conviction. Additionally, it was
difficult to validate the jurors decisions on the vote in their emotional state with
biased and fallacious reasoning. Sense perception allows us to raise questions
whether we know anything or whether our logic is justifiable because the evidence
was based on reasonable doubt. The witnesses might have told the truth and that boy

10. Queen Elizabeth II Research Paper
I have to be seen to be believed. (Azquoutes.com). To gain trust, to gain respect,
means one has to believe. You can t just simply have the confidence in another
individual unless they put themselves out there and give you reasons to believe in
them. To get to there, you not only need a great amount of perseverance and
tenacity, but also the ever lasting love and support from others. Like a small bud of
flower that fully blooms and radiates its beauty, a young princess grows up and has
aspirations for becoming more than just being a part of the world. The daughter of
King George VI and Queen Elizabeth I is a dog and horse lover who also had a
proclivity for learning. To her, there goal of wanting her to have a really happy
childhood, with lots of pleasant memories , meant occupying herself with
homework even on holidays (Mason, Emma). Her desire to learn beyond the
books is the force that sets her apart from others. Overflowing with selfless
devotion to one s nation and strong solicitude, Queen Elizabeth II wouldn t have
gotten to where she is if it weren t for her warm hearted relationships, her ambitious
character to be more involved, and the new era of technology. Being born into a
royal family made Elizabeth destined to have a bright future. Along with that, the
relationships she has developed or losses she has experienced also contributed to her
willingness to preserve the reign of monarchy. King George VI and Queen Elizabeth

11. Interbreed Biological Species
The biological species concept is defined, as species that are groups of interbreeding
natural populations that are reproductively isolated from other such groups. Species
of the similar classification can mate and reproduce with each other but not with
distinctive species. Although there is species that look relatively the same that does
not define how speciesinterbreed with each other. For example, an alligator and a
crocodile look the same but are not classified as the same species therefore they
wouldn t be able to interbreed. Even though both of these reptiles are from the same
group crocodilian and coexist they still don t interbreed. The reason why is because
these two reptiles have a different genetic make up that wont let them reproduce.

Giovanni Pico della Mirandola was an Italian humanist, philosopher, scholar, Neo
Platonist and writer whose main passion was the reconciliation of philosophy and
religion. Giovanni Pico della Mirandola was born on the 24th of February 1463 to a
wealthy and illustrious family and died on the 17th of November 1494. Being the
youngest son of three boys, Giovanni Pico della Mirandolawas mostly outlived by
his elder brothers who took on presumably significant roles; his brother Antonio

next few years visiting other humanist centers and the University of Paris which was
Europe s most significant center for scholastic theology and philosophy (Craven,
1981).
Giovanni s movement to Florence marked a big change in his life especially
regarding his philosophical career. In Florence, around 1484 he met Ficino
Marsilio and Lorenzo de Medici. Ficino, a renaissance philosopher who was about
to publish translations of Plato s works from Greek to Latin under the supervision
of Lorenzo. (Edelheit, 2008). Later on he briefly moved to Perugia where he was
introduced to Hebrew Kabbalah. It is this Kabbalistic doctrine he used to support
Christian theology becoming the first Christian to do so. After travelling to Rome,
Giovanni invited scholars from all over Europe to Rome to debate and defend his
900 theses drawn from Latin, Greek, Hebrew and Arabic writers. 13 of these were
however denounced as heretical by a papal commission and prohibited assembly.
Giovanni Pico della Mirandola decided to flee to France despite his apologia for the
13 theses where he was arrested. After his release he went back to settle in Florence.
He settled in a villa prepared for him by Lorenzo near
13. The Battle Of The World War II
The first time aircrafts are seen playing major roles in World War II Germany and
Japan had begun to attack the nation. Germany and Japan began their initial attacks
strong with air strikes, first attacking Holland, Denver, France, and England. When
the British retaliated, they had cutting edge fighters guided by radar. The Battle for
Britain was one of the first battles fought solely in the air, keeping Germany from
taking control of Britain s airways. Japan also began its attack on the U.S via air
strike during in the Japanese surprise bombing of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Soon the use
of military aircrafts began to technologically advance due to their importance.
Aircrafts took part in World War I
, but had minor affect in the outcome. However,
during World War II they were plausibly the greatest weaponry system available. The
airplane specifically became a vital machine that vastly affected the way many battles
were lost and won. Another vital war machine is the aircraft carrier, essential to the
United States after the majority of its battleships were destroyed at Pearl Harbor.
Airplanes played a major role in the outcome of the war. From reconnaissance,
fighters, to bombing missions without the help of airplanes the achievements, and
advancements of the aircrafts and military missions would have inhibited us from
constructing the modern technologies that are used today.
Undoubtedly, air reconnaissance played a role during the First World War. Pilot

14. Essay On Greenhouse Gas Emissions
As emitter in chief Donald Trump pulls out of the Paris Climate Accord, the time
has come for a top down approach to reducing global greenhouse gas emissions. Jack
Close explains.
Environmentalists are quick to sing out about New Zealand s excessive greenhouse
gas emissions and rightly so. In the large part, we are a gas guzzling, river polluting,
plastic bag wasting country. But the rules of international trade means cutting back
on production in our worst emitting industry probably won t work, or at least not yet.

And we keep getting better at it in the last two decades, we ve reduced the amount
of emissions per unit of lamb, milk solids and beef by up to 33 percent.
If anyone should be producing dairy products, lamb, and beef, it should be us, right?
The NZ Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Research Centre uses the term leakage to
describe what would happen if we cut back on agriculture. If we reduce the amount
of milk solids we export, for example, people across the world will still want milk.
Instead, another country will seize the opportunity to fill the hole in the market, and
feed the alley cat that is global greenhouse gas emissions.
Not only will New Zealand be missing out on the revenue from those exports, but the
countries that attempt to capitalise on New Zealand s newfound environmental
stewardship may not have anywhere near the emission productivity that we do. Parts
of Africa and South East Asia produce seven times more methaneper kilogram of
edible protein than us.
In theory, we d be leaving the world in a worse environmental state than it was
beforehand, and we d be out of pocket.
Unless the whole world goes vegan, the demand for animal protein will only increase
as exponential population growth continues, with the United Nations expecting an
extra 2.4 billion mouths to feed by 2050.
No country wants to lose out if they over commit to reducing climate change. There s
a very good reason the Government conveniently left off

In Works and Days, each of the Olympian gods had a hand in Pandora s conception

this is, how Zeus...Made women as a curse for mortal men (Theogony 384 385). The
negative feelings between the relationship of women and men grow throughout the

16. A Sermon On The Word Of God By Joel Osteen Essay
Laying in bed until noon on a Sunday morning sounds like a preposterous idea to
any devout, church going Christian. Southern Baptists, like my grandmother, are
outraged about the thought of millennials spending their Sunday mornings in bed
instead of sitting on a church pew. It seems as if young people these days are
interested in direction through the works of God, but are not willing to give up
those extra three hours of sleep on a Sunday morning. A preacher by the name of
Joel Osteen recognized this gap and decided to put a new face on preaching the
word of God. Joel Osteen is a Houston, Texas raised preacher of nearly 20 years
now. After being raised by parents of ministry, he refused for many years to follow
in his parents footsteps and to take his own path with life. Unexpectedly, his father,
a southern Baptist preacher, fell ill due to kidney complications. His father asked
him if he would give a sermon for him that Sunday. This sermon turned out to be
the last sermon that his father would ever hear and Joel has devoted his life to
ministry ever since. Joel began working for Lakewood church, which quickly
became popular through his powerful sermons. As his fan base grew, he became the
largest non denominational church in America, resulting in a TV program and
thousands of podcasts. Joel s sermons are broadcasted all over the internet, spreading
the word of God to 100 million homes in the U.S. and tens of millions more in
roughly 100 nations (Osteen). This has made
17. High Stakes Testing Pros And Cons
The concept of high stakes testing is that the outcomes of said testing is used to
make important life decisions regarding the knowledge of the educational
curriculum for the year. These high stakes test used to be only used for older
students going to college for example SAT and ACT, or for graduation. Now these
tests are being used in most all grades. High stakes testreally effect student s
outcomes in school. For those students that have a below grade level test result can
have repercussions even if they had good grades during the school year. Those
decisions can include summer school, repeating the grade level, refusal of diploma,
labeling the student, etc. For schools, below grade level testing reports can
including paying penalties, losing funding for their school and being labeled as a
below average school in their district. With the passage of the No Child Left Behind
Act in 2001 these high stakes test scores are used more to hold schools and... Show

Critic of high stakes testing believe that these high stakes tests narrow the
curriculum to included subjects and or topics that only appear on these high stakes
test. They feel that what is being taught is memorization of facts of the testing
curriculum and test preparation instead of real learning . (Yen, 2005) Higher test
scores are due to the fact that the curriculum is being lined with the state standards
of what needs to be learned and these test are made with the state approved
curriculum, so the scores should be higher if they are learning the curriculum right.
While some might feel that one subject is important but it isn t included in the
curriculum doesn t mean they are not learning. School curriculum evolves over time
and what one might have learned in the 1990 s or early 2000 s would be different
than what is learned in the year

Phenomenal Woman, written by Maya Angelou conveys the theme of self
confidence. All thorough the poem, Angelou introduces the conflict of the
controversial idea that every woman must live up to the expectations of others.
Additionally, Angelou had created the poem, Phenomenal Woman, with the intention
to inspire other women worldwide that there are no expectations that they should

In the poem titled, Phenomenal Woman, written by Maya Angelou, the poet uses
diction in order to produce a consistent confident and passionate tone. Further,
Angelou uses repetition in order to enhance the tone and message that she is
conveying. Within the end of each of the stanzas, Angelou writes, I m a woman
Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That s me. The use of the word, Phenomenal,
creates a confident tone because Angelou is describing herself as extraordinary even
though she had previously stated that she does not succeed the expectations of what
beauty is considered to be. Moreover, the repetition of words within the poem
reminds the readers to pay close attention to certain aspects of the poem that are
critical in order to understand the message that the poet is trying to convey.
Additionally, Angelou demonstrates the use of an enjambment consistently
throughout the stanzas of her poem. For instance, in stanza two, the poet states, The
fellows stand or, (Line 17) and Fall down on their knees, (Line 18). By doing this,
the writer does not fully carry out the thought until the next line which keeps the
poem flowing. If the reader stopped at line 17, then he/she won t know what the
fellows had done other than standing. By incorporating punctuation after line 17, the
reader will pause and the full meaning of the sentence won t be carried out and fully
understood as a whole. Consequently, Angelou had created an enjambment. As
mentioned previously, the tone is determined by the use of diction. Throughout the
poem, Angelou uses informal diction such as it s and ought . In the first stanza,
Angelou states, It s in the reach of my arms, (Line 6). By incorporating the word
reach, it can represent Angelou s self assurance and how she strives towards her
goals since her arms are stretched confidently. As a result, it develops the tone by

It will be argued in detailed throughout this essay the primary roles of the big four EU
institutions and how they interact with each other. The known to us nowadays
European Union rests its infrastructure on the concrete foundations of various

exactly they operate and what their role and functions are.
Currently seven institutions hold dominion over the European Union. Four of them
are considered to be of greater value as those institutions hold the main executive and
legislative omnipotent powers among the European Union: The European Parliament,
the Council of the European Union, the European Commission and the European
Council.

On the grounds of supervisory powers the European parliament scrutinized all of EU
institutions, examining petitions of citizens of the European Union, questioning
commission and council, and lastly observes the elections. The European parliament
powers do not stop here as it has a budgetary role which grants them the right to
approve the EU budget in long term.
In a like manner the Council of EU has also labelled itself as a legislative body.
Along side with the EP they co legislate laws for the EU. In accordance with the
Article 16 (1) TEU The council shall, jointly with the European Parliament, exercise
legislative and budgetary functions. It shall carry out policy making and coordinating
functions as laid down in the Treaties Generally the council has to make a voting to
approve all commissions legislative acts before they become laws and this happens in
compliance with the European Parliament. Furthermore government ministers from
each EU member state which embody the council meet to adopt, amend laws and
coordinate policies of the EU member states, commonly they represent national
interest.
Another key institution that must be mentioned due to its colossal importance in this
essay is the institution of the European Commission which it is supported by many
academics on their thesis that it has the most power of all EU institutions. Even

24. Blueprint For Reconstruction
The U.S. Civil War ended with America bruised as the nation needed a path to unify
on all fronts. President Lincoln stood as figure who would begin the task of
restoration and integrate freedom of all people into American society. Reconstruction
would be a difficult problem to achieve, especially with the states of the South
challenging the Emancipation and a nation licking deep wounds. President Lincoln
wanted the nation to heal quickly, and his blueprint for Reconstruction would have
provided the unity that the nation needed for healing an unity. President Lincoln s
first step was to offer the South and all former confederate loyalist a pardon, or
amenity. President Lincoln appeared to be more concerned with the heartbeat of the
nation,

26. Comparing Mavericks And The Gangster In The Huddle
Sports is a language that is universal. Authors often write stories that are about
sports because people can relate to them. They use sports to enhance the meaning
of their content and make it more interesting to readers. Sports Writing is writing
that just happens to be about sports. Sports Writing tells a story. In the articles, The
Gangster in the Huddle by Paul Solotaroff with Ron Borges, and, Mavericks by
Alice Gregory, the authors use sports to help them develop, and make an
interesting story for their readers. Description is very important in any kind of
writing. Both authors use sports to help them become descriptive and make the
reader feel like they are actually part of the story. In the very first paragraph of
Mavericks, Gregory gets very descriptive. She describes the faintly smell of saltwater,
diesel fuel from probably surf vans and trucks and weed from the people driving
those diesel vehicles (2013). Right off I get a sense of where she is and the people
that she is most likely surrounded by. She also describes the humungous waves called

Tone determines whether the reader will be interested or not. For example, if an
article is overly scholarly than the reader might get bored. Or maybe that s the
kind of writing the reader likes. Gregory uses a personal and nostalgic tone. She
recalls the times that she used to surf and work at the surf shop. She gets really
personal when she talks about how she used to pee in her wetsuit because it was
the easiest way to keep warm (2013). Her talking about surfing in this descriptive
manner allows the readers to feel like they ve surfed before even though many
people reading the article probably never have. Solotaroff and Borges used an
unsympathetic tone. They described in detail about the demise of Hernandez and at
the end they call Hernandez a menace to society but, because he s rich and well
known the authors think he will catch another break
27. Essay on Love and Time in Rossetti s Poems
Love and Time in Rossetti s Poems
It is evident that themes of love and time are frequently referred to in several of
Rossetti s poems and I believe that she treats these themes in a variety of ways.
Regarding love, Rossetti explores the disappointment and betrayal caused by love,
her love of God as though part of an intimate relationship and the temptation that love
causes young women to abandon the traditional rules. Using seasonal imagery,
Rossetti relates to time contradicting herself as she often implies that we should take
time to enjoy and observe life whilst she also states that she is unable to be satisfied
with earthly life and it is death that will provide the ultimate fulfilment.
Aware of the inevitable that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A parallel to this in Song , Rossetti treats time as missed opportunities, But pluck an
ivy branch for me demonstrating that she missed out on her youth and prime time
but grew old before she had the chance to enjoy life. Using flower imagery,
Rossetti compares the different states of life, Violets are for the grave of youth , a
vibrant and exciting time and for someone to die young would be a shame. And
laurel for the perfect prime , a symbol of continuity and everlasting life; however
withered leaves I chose ,
Rossetti conveys a humble attitude as though she doesn t deserve anymore.
Contrasting her positive thoughts of living life to the full, Rossetti also releases her
inner emotions regarding her own experience of not being successful in love and
consequently was unable to enjoy life like others do. Through song , Who look upon
them hand in hand ,
Rossetti realises how nicer the world could be if she was able to share it with
someone special. Two doves upon the self same branch , using the recurring motif of
innocence and purity , Rossetti attempts to see life as others do who take time to
observe the beauty that surrounds them, and wishes that she could be as content, Oh
happy they who look on them . Aware that she looks at herself and her life in bleak
terms Rossetti affirms, Who look upon them hand in hand/ and never give a thought
to night as she constantly refers to
28. The New Colossus Immigration
In the much admired poem The New Colossus American writer Emma Lazarus
writes, Give us your poor, your tired, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free...
Carved inside the inside of an icon of freedom, the Statue of Liberty, this speech has
come to describe the country of the United States of America. Even before its
declaration of independence in 1776, the United Stateswas a dock for those looking
for a better life. Gathering to this country by the thousands, immigrants past and
present have travelled to the land of the free in an effort to find a lifestyle based upon
the United States idea of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. With more and

Being a self governing nation, the United States trusts on its citizens to help in the
creation and loud out of laws and policies. In the case of immigration policy, in
order for these policies to be fruitful, the government must have the help and care
of the United States citizens. In this desire for the support and ability to trust in its
people, the government also needs the readiness of citizens to aid in the course of
noticing unlawful immigrants. However, for one reason or another, the people of
the United States often do not live up their tasks as citizens, and just overlook their
duty to report illegal immigrants to the government. For example, when a boss
hires an illegal immigrant for nothing more than low cost labor, that boss is not
obeying to the rules set forth by law. There is a number of other persons who also
neglect to report illegal immigrants for numerous reasons, such as those in favor of
illegal immigration. Such disregard for the law only weakens the rules set forth by
the government and, ultimately, hinders the enforcement of said laws. Here lies the
problem with present day immigration, as the government simply does not have the
volume to fully tool the current policies and laws that it has set forth. From huge
limits to defiant citizens, the United States government is delayed from applying
their own policies of immigration. With the failure to apply the law, the United
States and its people bear some bad effects as an end of illegal
29. Human Emotion And Its Effect On Human Consciousness
The purpose of life, to some degree, is to seek happiness and to seek out other people
to achieve that happiness. Sigmund Freud developed this idea, which is known as the
pleasure principle, claiming to explain that the human consciousness and
subconsciousness revolve around this idea. If someone is isolated, then they will try
to alleviate that suffering in one way or another. Humanemotionis reduced to
extremely simple terms, unlike what they truly are, which is extremely complex. The
idea of reducing humans to such a simple understanding seems unfair, but it carries a
sense of truth to it. Every person on Earth is seeking for pleasure, and it carries truth
because no person appreciates the feelingof unpleasantness. Isolation is a defense
method against the world to seek pleasure and to avoid unpleasant feelings in life.
Freud believes that everyone attempts to get away from things that cause us pain and
suffering and that everyone feels suffering as a result of society, but the way people
attempt to alleviate this suffering defines us as a person.
Two people could be faced with the death of a close relative, but the one who
alleviates his suffering through drugs is very different from the one who alleviates
his suffering through burying himself in his work. The exploration of Freud s ideas
through different characters of the two stories, Sonny s Blues and Ceremony, reveal
that Freud s principles regarding human nature are not the basis for all human life.

Bug Out Bag Debate: Tarp or Tent for Emergency Shelter
A bug out bag is designed for emergencies, so some inconvenience is to be expected.
When on a family outing you can carry a six or eight person cabin tent in the back of
your vehicle. Weight is not a large factor when you can pack your supplies in the
cargo space of an SUV or pickup.
When packing supplies on your back however, weight can be a deciding factor.
What you think you can carry on your back, and what you can actually carry, are
two different things. Twenty minutes hiking up and down the sidewalk with 30 to 50
pounds strapped on does not mean you can perform the same way physically while
in a crisis when walking over rough and uneven terrain for hours at a time.
Tents
Most backpacking tents are designed for 1 to 2 people. A one person tentallows
approximately 15 square feet of sleeping space. Keep in mind you will have gear as

32. The Pros And Cons Of Ethanoline
Gas is an invaluable commodity in today s society. It is used in everything from
cars, to lawnmowers, to generators, to boats. Everyone uses it, but what exactly
goes into it besides oil? One of the answers to this is ethanol. Ethanol has been
going into gasoline since the 1920 s and was widely used during WWII
(Gustafson, 2010). Ethanol gasoline became popular in the 1970 s due to the
climbing prices of gasoline (Gustafson, 2010). The high price of gasoline was a
result of oil shortages because of production cuts by the Organization of Petroleum
Exporting Countries. (The Washington Times, 2006). The reason a rise in prices and
a shortage of oil led to adding ethanol to gasoline was because ethanol was an easily

Embryonic Stem Cells, and Frankenstein written by Patrick Guinan, discusses the

forbidden areas, as well as humanities identity and potential desire to achieve
knowledge to rival God. Guinan s research aims to explore, question, and ultimately
bring light to the potential issues that may arise from such pursuits. This research
raises several questions, as well as causes of concern, which will all be addressed in
this essay. The author of this article makes use of intelligent analysis, evidence from
ages both recent and ancient, and well thought out discourse, in order to cause readers
to consider just what ethics and morality is to science, as well as what it is to our
identity as humanity as a whole. It is important to understand the references to
history that the author uses, in order to properly read and understand this articles
intentions. First the author references the anthraxattack carried out by terrorists in
2001. These attacks consisted of letters with anthrax spores inside of them, which
were then mailed different news offices and the offices of two U.S. Senators. The
attacks killed five people and infected nearly 20 others. Guinan s

action roused the Italians (Michael Brecher Jonathan Wilkenfeld: A study of crisis).
In Italy Anti Greek demonstrations broke out. Italians asked for a complete official

36. Lab Report On Catalase
Catalase lab background
The question being answered by these experiments is: How do different conditions
affect the productivity of enzymes? Enzymes are produced by cells and they act as
catalysts, which means they are organic molecules that speed up chemical reactions.
How effectively they work depends on the conditions they are in, such as level of
temperature, pH level, substrate concentration, and salt concentration. In these
experiments, Catalase will be placed in different conditions with hydrogen peroxide.
How active the enzyme is in these different conditions will be measured by the
amount of oxygen gas being produced. A very high increase in oxygen will indicate
a high reaction rate and a low production of oxygen will show that there is a low
reaction rate. On the other hand, if there is no change in the level of oxygen, it will
indicate that the Catalase is denatured and is no longer functioning.
In temperature, when it increases, it is expected that the activity of Catalase will
also increase up to a certain temperature. After a certain degree, it is expected that
the activity of Catalase will slow down and eventually come to stop. Similarly, it is
expected that more concentration of substrates will lead to higher activity of
Catalase up to a certain concentration level. Past that certain level, the productivity of
the enzyme will stop. On the other hand, for pH and salt concentration level, it is
expected that too low or too high in either variable will lead to

When looking into the mirror at oneself, what imperfections come to mind? Often
times answers are given that a person believes they are overweight, not beautiful

they wish they could improve about themselves and some work very hard to

The defense presented by Paul University in this case is based on the fact that Ms.

Department. This department offered the introductory yoga class to the students
at the university however; it was not a required course, not part of the educational
mission of the university, but part of a recreational sports program. Furthermore,
this recreational yoga class was not art of the interscholastic or intercollegiate
sport department at Paul University. Ms. Leslie voluntarily enrolled in the
introductory yoga class and signed a standard waiver. A waiver represents a type
of contract in which one party relinquishes their right to sue the other party (Sharp,
2014). In order for waivers to be upheld, two criteria must be met. First, the waiver
must be used in the right circumstances and secondly the waiver must be written
properly (Sharp et al., 2014). Paul University asserted that the waiver was properly
formulated because Ms. Leslie, an 18 year old freshmen, is considered an adult and
therefore has the capacity to make reasonable decisions and sign applicable
documents. Additionally the waiver does not violate public policy as Paul University
is a private institution and the yoga class is not part of the university s essential
services. There is

The Hungarian Revolution of 1956 not only marked the start of Hungarian
independence but the downfall of communism. Beginning in 1956, it was an

crisis in the relationship between the super powers. The Uprising was short and

The Joy Luck Club is a novel by Amy Tan which tells the individual, cohesive stories
of Chinese American daughters and their Chinese mothers. In each story, the cultural
differences between mother and daughter acts as a wedge between them. The
conflicting cultures of descent and consent causes a conflict between mother and
daughter; although they ultimately want to have a relationship with each other, the
differences in values make coming together harder. For the mothers, their
expectations for their daughters are high, while the daughters are trying to understand
how Chinafits into their American lives. This conflict between values perpetuates
until there is an acceptance of each way of life.
The concept of consent and descent is used throughout literature to show tension
between cultures. Descent relates to the nation or culture that one or one s family
comes from. Consent shows a relation to the culture that is chosen, even though it
may not be the one that someone is born into; consent may also be seen as
Americanizing. One s ethnic identity may be torn between the concepts of consent
and descent. The culture of descent may conflict with the culture of consent. The
contradictory ideologies might cause an inner struggle because these two components
of identity. Within The Joy Luck Club, the Chinese heritage is the culture of descent
and the American lifestyle is the culture of consent.
The conflict between lifestyles not only created a barrier between Chinese lifestyle

In this report, the symptoms of this patient will be diagnosed, and the causes of them
discussed with reference to the physiology and pharmacology of the autonomic
nervous system.
The Autonomic Nervous System
The autonomic nervous system (ANS) is the part of the motor division of the
peripheral nervous system (PNS) that controls involuntary processes in the body
(Wieczorek, 2014). Such functions include control of heart rate, gland activity,
smooth muscle contraction and constriction of blood vessels (Biology online.org,
2014). The ANS is divided into two branches, the sympathetic nervous system (SN)
and the parasympathetic nervous system (PN). The SN is responsible for the fight or
flight response, which results in increased preparedness for vigorous activity in
response to exercise or emergency. The PN acts antagonistically to the SN, in that it
produces the opposite effects to those of the SN. Under normal circumstances, the
PN is dominant, and allows processes such as digestion and defecation to occur,
while also conserving energy (Elmhurst.edu, 2014). Most of the visceral organs of the
body are innervated by both sympathetic and parasympathetic neurones, with the
exceptions being sweat glands and the smooth muscle of blood vessels they are only
innervated by sympathetic nerve fibres (Wieczorek, 2014).
In the ANS, a number of different neurotransmitters and receptors are present. In both
the PN and SN, the neurotransmitter at the ganglia is
46. Manet s Bar At The Folies Bergere
Manet s Bar at the Folies BergГЁre, one of the most perplexing and mysterious
paintings to exist, holds deep meaning and reflects French social life in this era. This
work of art illustrates a Parisian nightclub, the Folies BergГЁre, which catered to a
diverse set of acts including the circus and ballet. It is here that the Barmaid works
and where we see the interaction between her and the gentleman. This is where an
extremely important concept of the work appears perspective. Throughout the years
there have been numerous interpretations and claims concerning why Manet painted
the scene as he did, whether or not the perspective is accurate, and how all of the
elements including the mirror and woman come together. Another fascinating
element that comes from this scene is the social aspects of French life during this
time. This element comes into play in the relationship between the barmaid and the
gentleman in the top hat, the woman s expression, and the occupation of the woman.
Although there are many enlightening interpretations of Manet s work, there is one
that is particularly strong. Manet s use of perspective and inclusion of social matters
both engages the viewer and leads them to ponder what it is exactly that they are
viewing. A reason this painting has sparked so much interest and analysis is the mind
boggling perspective and reflection. One of the first observations the viewer makes is
that the barmaid and the barmaid s reflection do not go together. Pullman
47. Tim Burton Cinematic Techniques
Burton s Style Tim Burton uses cinematic techniques to create his movies. Through
his use of cinematic techniques in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Edward
Scissorhands, and Beetlejuice. Some of Burton s cinematic techniques are lighting,
music, and costumes. Cinematic techniques are camera shots used to demonstrate
different aspects of a films setting, characters and themes. In at least three of his
movies, Burton uses similar cinematic techniques to portray mood to his audience.
Burton, in Charlie and the Chocolate Factoryuses clothes in order to portray the
characters. They all were different kinds of clothes like Veruca had on rich clothes, and
Violet and her mom had matching clothes on.The parents and kids had different

49. Personal Narrative-Calum
Calum A small shiver traveled up Calum s spine as the wind brushed against his
skin. It was a welcoming chill; the kind you can only feel from the air on a Spring
morning. A cold that contrasted the heat of his body, but did not overtake it. Calum
liked the feeling of breathing in the morning air, but that pleasure was taken from
his lungs when his fingers met his lips. Instead of the sweet fresh air, he was
breathing in death, wondering when it would come. Smoking was calming to him.
When the entirety of his focus was on that one cigarette, everything else escaped his
mind, and for a few minutes the only pain he felt was the dull burn of the cigarette.
His whole body was numb. The world around him was nothing but a void, and then

50. Bankruptcy Chapter 7
Chapter 7 bankruptcy: the bankruptcy in chapter seven is known as a liquidation
process. This process is used when a corporation basically has no other alternatives
in saving the corporation and has the ability to attain the essential creditor settlement.
All of the corporation s possessions have to be vended for their palpable value.
There has been over a numerous amount of corporations who have declared
bankruptcy on a yearly basis. Chapter 9 bankruptcy: this bankruptcy applies to all the
cities in all areas. The biggest city to ever announce bankruptcy is Detroit, Michigan.
However, there have been others such as: Stockton, California, and lastly,
Birmingham, Alabama. Chapter 11 bankruptcy: this bankruptcy means that
corporations are able
51. Hades In Greek Mythology
In Greek Mythology, there are Gods and Goddesses for many things, such as
happiness, fertility, and celebrations. However, there are not many Greek Gods and
Goddesses for grim matters, such as death. Hades is the God of the dead and wealth
and is the King of the Underworld. Hades is a Greek God with an interesting
childhood, a special family, and many myths surrounding him.
Hades had a very unusual childhood. As a young child, he and his brother, Poseidon
were swallowed by his father Cronus, due to a rumor that one of his children will
dethrone him. The rumor was true, when Zeus, his younger brother tricked him into
throwing up all of his children. Then, all three of the brothers teamed up and
defeated Crous along with all the other Titans. Afterwards, they drew lots for the
share of the world. He drew the Underworld, which was the least favorable out of the
choices. This is why Hades now rules the Underworld, while his brothers rule on the

His wife, Persephone was forcefully brought to the Underworld to marry him.
Hades and Zeus, father of Persephone formed a plan that would trap her and bring
her to Hades. The plan worked and Persephone now enjoyed being the Queen of the
Underworld. Next, Hades wanted some children for his family. However, he was
considered infertile, due to being the God of the dead. Therefore, he got Zeus to
impregnate Persephone, Zeus daughter. Afterwards, he was given two children,
Macaria and Erinyes. In the end, Hades was now given a family thanks to help from
his brother
52. Foil Characters In Brave New World
Foil characters are characters in many novels that are used to show the opposite
aspects of one another, and to highlight qualities within each of characters. In the
novel, Brave New World, Aldous Huxley effectively presents a pair of characters that
contrast to each other despite having the same thoughts of discontent with society.
The characterof Helmholtz Watson and Bernard Marx are both characters that,
despite being the in the same caste group, are foils characters of each other, because
of their different ways of thinking and dealing with problems.
The reason why these two characters in particular are foil characters are because of
their contradictory mindsets. They are both friends because of the similar reason of
being discontent with their society, but the thing that makes them opposites is the
way they deal with their dissatisfaction. Bernard deals with the discontent by
complaining and not really doing anything about it, while in contrast Helmholtz
seems to do heavy thinking, trying to find a solution for what they dislike about their
society. So, although these two characters are categorized in the same pinnacle
hierarchy of the Alpha s, they are complete opposites in the way that they deal with
the displeasure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But the reason why they are foils is because of the reason why they are outsiders.
Bernard is discontent with their society because he doesn t fit in, with his radical
way of thinking and his size, but in contrast Helmholtz doesn t fit into society
because he seems like he is too smart for it. Helmholtz sees the unfair and unjust
way that the upper class people live in comparison with the lower classes. So he
tries to think of ways to fix it or stop it, unlike Bernard who just complain for his
own selfish reason of not fitting in. So Bernard and Helmholtz foils to contrast the
difference in their personalities and
53. Dangers Of Counterfeit Pharmaceutical Drugs
Dangers of Counterfeit Pharmaceutical Drugs
Remember that time, you really wanted to buy a Louis Vuitton bag? Then the
thought of spending thousands on it held you back? So instead you bought a knock
off, and saved yourself a boat load of money. No harm done, right? However, what if
it wasn t just a purse that you bought as a counterfeit? What if it was a knockoff
Tylenol or birth control? Do you think it would be harmful, then? This happens all the
time, and the production and sales of counterfeit drugs are more common than you
think. This essay will explain why the production and sale of counterfeit
pharmaceutical drugs are wrong. When someone creates something, that is solely
from their mind, whether it be literature, a play, a piece of artwork, it is Intellectual
Property. Intellectual Property is important because it allows the economy to grow,
as well as captures the devotion of its inventors and creators, by becoming
financially beneficial. Intellectual property helps promote development and aims for
a more economic growth in overall well being. In direct relation to pharmaceutical
drugs, the creation of the drugs are never ending, and also supplies a huge source of
financial growth for all of the developing companies. In fact, The combined profits
for the ten drug companies in the Fortune 500 ($35.9 billion) were more than the
profits for all the other 490 businesses put together ($33.7 billion) [in 2002] ... (The

54. Why Democracy Robert Dahl Summary
No matter where one goes there will always be a set of rules that govern what
behaviors are acceptable, and therefore create a certain society around that. Robert
Dahl wrote the essay entitled Why Democracy? to explain the effects of government
own its citizens. The Midshipman Regulations are no exception to influencing the
society of the regiment. They create a society that closely mirrors the society Dahl
envisions in his essay. The Midshipman Regulations intentionally create a certain
kind of atmosphere that provides an outlet for moral responsibility, to develop as a
person, but at the same time restricts numerous freedoms. Dahl s idea of a democratic
society closely follows what the Midshipmen Regulations are trying to create, but
would... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dahl envisions a society that insures its citizens a broad range of personal
freedom..., whereas the Midshipmen Regulations certainly do not grant numerous
freedoms like Dahl would have envisioned (101). In a pure democracy everyone
has a say, so no one will willingly give up their personal freedoms and rights. The
regulations only work because the midshipmen agree to follow rules like Plebes
shall not talk in the hallways, Delano, or outdoors. Dahl s society with abundant
freedom is advantageous in the long run, whereas the society created from the
Midshipman Regulations is superior in the short term. If one is subject to strict,
relentless rule, they are bound to rebel such as what lead to the American
Revolution, hence Dahl s society is better for the long term. Now looking at the
regulations, it builds character and toughness, but after a certain period it becomes
impractical and counterproductive like writing the Standards of Conducts five times.
For that reason, the Midshipmen regulations become less strict the longer they are
here so that the midshipmen do not go insane. Both of the two societies have
different views on freedom, but still produce people of character. The two societies
formed from Dahl s perfect democracy and the Midshipmen Regulations have several
of the same characteristics, such as practicing moral responsibility and developing as
a person. However,
55. Disadvantages Of Digital Media
Each practice discussed above integrates multiple aspects of 21st century education.
The research task using digital media is highly student centred, as students are
engaged in their own learning with their teacher as a guide, rather than in an
authoritarian role (Senge et al., 2012). Rather than bring in a firefighter, the students
can actively research their own questions and concerns while the teacher works with
them in continuous learning. Furthermore, rather than children learning through
competitive question asking, which Senge et al. (2012) identifies to be a traditional
approach, they can work with each other through the use of technology, and share
their emotions and stories with one another. Children can engage in deep learning and
become leaders of their learning together (Fullan Langworthy, 2014). A limitation of
this approach is that not all students may have access to digital technologies at home
and can have limited experience, which can therefore cause a digital divide between
students and leave some disadvantaged.
It is understood that hands on experiences are considered by many to be the essential
condition for acquiring new concepts or understandings (Butts, Hofman Anderson,
1993, p. 1), however, there are some limitations to the 21st century learning approach.
A benefit of the hands on learning approach is the level of engagement it has for
children as it is about children being active participants in the task. This ensures equal
opportunity for
56. The Burden Sharing Behavior Of Gulf Cooperation Council
(...
The purpose of this paper is to examine the burden sharing behavior of Gulf
Cooperation Council (GCC) members and their response to the military burden of
Iran. Quantitative methods are used to test the study s hypothesis. The findings
suggest that the large GCC member (Saudi Arabia) is in military burden at a
greater rate than smaller GCC members. In accordance with the logic of collective
action, I tested the hypothesis that small alliance members will be free riders. I
show that the Vector Auto Regression (VAR) model captures the dynamic feature of
GCC s behavior. The findings show non cooperative behavior among GCC members
concerning their level of military burden towards Iran, and small members of GCC
who are free riders on the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of this, the Arabian Gulf States should work collectively to fill the power
vacuum and increase the level of security in the Arabian Gulf region. This study
would focus on the effects of free riding on security arrangements among the Arabian
Gulf states. Finally, applying the same framework of the NATOon the Gulf
Cooperation Council (GCC) could help the Gulf States play a larger role in their
region.
There is serious concern for the entire world about the Arabian Gulf security. Iran s
expanding ambition rose to new heights when its nuclear ambitions were revealed to
the world. In fact, Iran s nuclear ambition has alerted regional and international
concerns about the future stability and security. This paper is important because it
will contribute to the existing literature of collective action studies in general and the
Arabian Gulf in particular. This study would provide valuable information to many
stakeholders. First, this research will give scientific predictors of future procedures
that should be taken to improve the regional security. It will also shed light on
identifying the type of course of action to help identify the best policies in dealing
with the security dilemma.
This paper consists of two major sections: First, describe some aspects of the
different concepts of security in the Arabian Gulf region, evaluate a collective action
framework with an

Only research will tell, since nursing research is systematic inquiry designed to
develop knowledge about issues of importance to nurses, including nursing practice,
nursing education, and nursing administration (Polit Beck, 2006, p. 4).
Problem Statement Hyperglycemia (typically defined as a blood glucose of 200 mg
/dL) is a well known phenomenon in critically ill patients without a prior history of
diabetes mellitus (Langdon Shriver, 2004, p. 163). While many studies have been
completed with respect to management of hyperglycemia in diabetic surgical patients,
there has been minimal research regarding the impact that tight glycemic control has
on non diabetic trauma and medical patients. With managed care requiring decreases
in length of hospitalization and hospitals attempting to conserve cost expenditure,
placing non diabetic patients on insulin drips immediately upon entry into the health
care system may adversely affect both of these areas. Trauma patients without a
diagnosis of diabetes mellitus will require prolonged lengths of stay in the intensive
care unit related to the fact that they must have closely monitored blood glucose
levels. In addition to the increased duration of their intensive care unit admission,
they are subjected to administration of medications they would not normally take at
home. Furthermore, this patient population has
58. An Order Compelling Discovery Of Documents
The principal functions to be served in providing for pretrial discovery of
documents are (i) to acquire accurate and useful information with respect to
testimony which is likely to be presented by an opponent, (ii) to obtain information
which appears reasonably calculated to lead to the discovery of admissible
evidence, and (iii) to use as an aid in cross examining the opponent s witnesses.
Kelch v. Mass Transit Admin., 287 Md. 223, 231 (1980). Moreover, in a motion to
compel a discovering party has a burden of production to show that there is a failure
of discoverythat falls within to one of the specifically enumerated categories
articulated in Md. Rule 2 432 (b)(1)(A) (G). Specifically, 50NL must show that they
are entitled to an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rule 2 402(a) provides:
A party may obtain discovery regarding any matter that is not privileged, including
the existence, description, nature, custody, condition, and location of any documents,
electronically stored information, and tangible things and the identity and location
of persons having knowledge of any discoverable matter, if the matter sought is
relevant to the subject matter involved in the action, whether it relates to the claim
or defense of the party seeking discovery or to the claim or defense of any other
party. It is not ground for objection that the information sought is already known to
or otherwise obtainable by the party seeking discovery or that the information will be
inadmissible at the trial if the information sought appears reasonably calculated to
lead to the discovery of admissible evidence. An interrogatory or deposition question
otherwise proper is not objectionable merely because the response involves an
opinion or contention that relates to fact or the application of law to fact.
Md. Rule 2 402(a) (emphasis added).
In the present action, respondents are willing to concede for purposes of this motion
that the information requested by 50NL likely meets the minimal threshold of
relevance required by Md. Rule 2 402(a) if only minimally so. The rule continues,
however, to provide that:
A party may decline to provide discovery of electronically stored information on the
ground that the sources are not
59. The Positive Aspects Of Heros In The Modern World
Superman, Batman, Ironman, Hulk, Thor, etc. All heroes in the world, but not just
superheroes are heroes . Everyone has the potential to become a hero, and heroism
traits are a part of everyone. A hero isn t always the strongest human being that
risks their life, a hero is someone who makes a positive impact in someone else s
life and overcomes challenges. Bob Riley said, Hard times don t create heroes. It is
during the hard times when the herowithin us is revealed. This quote proves how a
hero faces these hard times and defeats these obstacles that face them. There are
many examples of heroes in the modern world. These people that become unique
heroes are regular people like you and me. The only difference is, these unique
heroes take an extra step and make a footprint in the world. There were, and are
many situations and natural disasters in the word that help bring out these heroes.
For example, there were dozens of heroes during the 9/11 attacks. People from all
different backgrounds became a hero saving other lives and making a difference in
random stranger s life. One hero during this hard time in America was known as the
man in the red bandana. He obtained this nickname because he wore a red bandana
to cover his mouth and lungs while helping others. He worked on the 104th floor and
saved dozens rescuing them and accompanying them down to safety. On September
11, the man in red in bandana had positive impacts on others by saving the lives of
many strangers.
