Who Decided To Make A Riot Analysis
Assignment 4 Who decided to make a riot one day? Why did they think violence should be the
answer? When it comes down to the people getting our voice heard, brutality should not have been a
thought that came to mind. Riots are irrelevant because of how innocent people are victimized when
they aren t the ones causing the unfair treatment in our society. I wonder why individuals go against
their own people when it s the ones who are in charge of decision making who we should be angry
with. I think that s exactly what the government wants us to do, go against each other so they could
throw us in prison and make billions of dollars off of us. If the people knew what they were doing to
themselves I guarantee they would put an end to it. It seems

Persuasive Essay On The LGBT Community
The LGBT community is often referred to as the gay community, which includes lesbian, gay,
bisexual, and transgendered people. This community has not always been supported by others. There
has been many challenges and attempts to get equality dating back to 1969 with the stonewalls riots,
which were violent riots against a police raid by the gay community. This is just one of the many
protest and riots that will take place with their fight against discrimination and inequality. Gilbert
Baker was a rights activist, in 1978 he stitched the rainbow flag that has now become the international
symbol of gay pride. In the 1980 s the AIDS epidemic brought more challenges, which people who did
not support the LGBT community only used to further block legal protection. It would be years before
they even got the right to same sex marriage. In 2004 Massachusetts became the first state in the
United States granting gays to legally marry, but it would not become legal in all 50 states until June
26, 2015. Even though people are now allowed the right to same sex marriage, there are still many
struggles and injustices that they still face today. Members of the LGBT community should be treated
equal and provided with constitutional rights, access to the military, and legal protection regardless of
sexual orientation or gender identity. Every U.S citizen has Constitutional Rights, yet LGBTs are
constantly getting their rights violated. Although the Fourteenth Amendment, ratified at the

The Observations Of Albert Einstein s Theory Of Relativity
The most recent confirmation of Albert Einstein s theory of relativity was the detection of
gravitational waves. This discovery revolutionised our understanding of science and the universe. It
has also unlocked the potential for future scientific endeavours especially in the field of gravitational
wave astronomy.
Spacetime is the union of the three spatial dimensions and the one time dimension into a continuum1.
According to general relativity, gravity is the curvature of this spacetime due to the presence of mass.
The greater the present mass the greater the curvature. Extremely large changes in spacetime curvature
create wave like ripples in spacetime that propagate at light speed.2 These extremely large changes
can occur due to black holes merging together. These ripples are gravitational waves, and can be
detected. In 1916 gravitational waves were predicted by Albert Einstein in his theory of general
relativity.1
Gravitational waves were first detected on 14 September 2015 by the Laser Interferometer
Gravitational Wave Observatory (LIGO).3 This observatory consists of two installations, one in
Hanford and one in Livingston, America. The waves detected were caused when two black holes of 36
and 29 solar masses merged. LIGO splits a laser beam down 2 perpendicular 4 kilometre tunnels, that
are reflected back to their origin where they recombine at a detector. The two light beams travel the
same distance, so normally when they recombine they cancel each other out. In the

Essay on Ibm Eclipse Case Study
1. Why was the creation of an independent IBM software group [SWG] strategically important? Note:
this discussion should include some view of hardware as well. The creation of an independent IBM
software group (SWG) was strategically important for the following reasons: a) A category of
software named middleware was emerging in the mid 90s. At this point SWG abetted IBM to emerge
in the middleware market. b) SWG was also strategically important for IBM to help focus its software
activities and prepare for a new age in distributed networked computing. ... Show more content on

Very soon java became popular in the software community, which resulted in more and more
companies building their line of products in Java. Though Java quickly gained momentum, it raised
new business and technical issues. On the business side, java weakened the stronghold of other
application development tools, especially Microsoft s Visual Studio. Also, market was becoming
fragmented with the introduction of many similar java development tools, thus increasing the
development costs for the ISVs trying to develop complements for java products. There were two
issues created by Java on the technical side. First, Java provided Swing, its own graphic environment
to provide consistent look and feel across multiple OSs which resulted in customers losing familiarity
with their native OS. Second, Java s Swing implemented their own set of graphic libraries adding
computing overhead, making Java applications slower than those applications which directly used
native operating system s graphic libraries. 4. Is a single platform a utopia, a nightmare, or something
in between? To develop your answer, think of this from the various points of view [POVs] of different
IBM organizations and managers. Single platform across all IBM tools would be a utopia, but creating
the platform by overcoming all the internal opposition at IBM and convincing the existing product

Henry David Thoreau Accomplishments
What you get by achieving goals is not as important as what you become by achieving goals. Quote,
Henry David Thoreau. An accomplishment is just another definition of a goal. They may take a long
time to complete; however, just have faith and great things can come from it. Just like how Columbus
never gave up to find the new world, even though he always thought that the world was flat. The
world has always been a place of innovation and discovery. One of the many personal
accomplishments I would like to have is to travel and learn about the world. All the countries around
the world have their own culture and history, along with stunning national monuments and landscapes.

All my life, I ve been dreaming about knowing who I truly am. Years pass and I discover that I don t
need to be ashamed or to feel left out, that doesn t matter, being special is something to be proud of.
Even though I m a dual citizen and not extremely patriotic, It s something that makes me unique. Later
I would learn that my DNA contains mostly Scandinavian, Irish, British, and Western European. This
goes back to when I was younger when my Dad taught me the culture of his home country. Also, some
other facts I ve learned are my birthday lands on the same day as Queen Elizabeth ІІ, and my middle
name is the national flower of England. Currently, I would like to study Swedish, German, and some
others. In the meantime, I ve been teaching myself about the ancient civilizations and the European
Revolutions. At school, we only get to learn about certain subjects and don t get involved in
international studies, until we re at a certain grade. My dad taught me that during his school years, he
learned about different countries and how they function, including their governments and economy.
During my life, I ve only traveled the world three times and visited three countries, France, Denmark,
and Sweden. Next time I get the chance, I would see all of what the world has in

Mexican Cuisine
Mexican cuisine, a style of food that originates in Mexico, is known for its varied flavors, colourful
decoration and variety of spices and ingredients, most of which are native to the country. The cuisine
of Mexico has evolved through thousands of years of blending indigenous cultures, with later foreign
elements added after the 16th century. In November 2010, Mexican cuisine was added by UNESCO to
its lists of the world s intangible cultural heritage The staples of Mexican foods are typically corn and
beans. Corn is used to make masa, dough for tamales, tortillas, gorditas, and many other corn based
foods. Corn also are eaten fresh from the cob, and also can be as an ingredient of a number of dishes.
Aside from that, squash and peppers are also important in Mexican cuisine. Mexican cuisine is
considered one of the most distinct in the world, after Indian Cuisine and Chinese Cuisine.

Mexican dietary habits. The Spanish also brought techniques to make cheeses from their homeland,
such as manchego. Over the colonial period, cheese making was modified to suit the mixed European
indigenous tastes of Mexicans, varying by region. This blending and variations have given rise to a
number of varieties of Mexican cheeses. These are most popular in the country although European
cheeses are made as well. Most cheeses are made with raw (unpasteurized) milk, which has caused
some health issues.Cheeses are made in the home, on small farms or ranches, and by major dairy

Argument On Dinosaur
Argument 1: Why I believe there is dinosaurs in my backyard because back when there was dinosaurs
there was a shallow sea around hallett cove south Australia which it would be where we are right now.
Why is this an important point? This is an important point because you need a large amount of water
to make sedimentary rocks.
What factual evidence do you have to support your point (reason)? Because i have and people have
found dinosaur bones around south australia befor.
Argument 2: Why I believe this point (reason); some elaboration and evidence.
What is the point (reason)? I believe this because no one has dug under our house because thats our

TFSA Vs Rrsp Essay
A RRSP is a Registered Retirement Savings Plan that is an account set up to save for retirement
whereas a TFSA is a Tax Free Savings Account that is set up for any type of savings goal. They both
differ in their own ways however, both offer tax advantages to help one reach their savings goals.
First, in order to make contributions to a RRSP one needs earned income on the other hand for a TFSA
one does not. Also, another key difference between the two plans are that RRSP contributions are tax
deductible as you can deduct your contribution from the income you report on the tax return. A TFSA
is the exact inverse, as you cannot deduct your contribution on your tax return. Furthermore, when it
comes to withdrawals, both of the plans are opposite once again as TFSA withdrawals are tax free and
RRSP withdrawals aren t tax free. Also another difference would be the age limit for making
contributions, with a RRSP one has to stop making contributions at the age of 71, whereas in a TFSA
there is no age restriction, one could make contributions for how ever long they want. ... Show more

Now when it comes to choosing one plan and making the most from it, it depends on a few key factors
including tax situations, when your planning on taking out the money, and individual circumstances.
The best path would be to contribute to both, but most citizens can t afford that. The way I look at it,
RRSP is more long term (10 years or more), and TFSA is more short term (1 10 years). If the client is
a young adult and is saving for an investment within the next 10 years, the client should invest in a
TFSA. If the client however is older, someone who maybe is a full adult, perhaps over the age of 28
should look to invest in a RRSP, as that person will need money once he or she has retired. Plus, if the
person is being taxed heavily, its always good to get that

Epistemic Racism
Lastly, epistemic racial discrimination has left irreversible emotional and physical damage that
continues to haunt the Indigenous community. Epistemic racial discrimination refers to the positioning
of the knowledge of one racial group as superior to another, it includes a judgment of not only which
knowledge is considered valuable but is considered to be knowledge. In the context of Indigenous
health, the imposition of western knowledge systems and particularly the use of western science to
demonstrate the supposed inferiority of Indigenous peoples and Indigenous ways of knowing
constitute acts of epistemic racism (Allan Smylie, p. 5, 2015).
Geddes writes about the Indigenous children who were ripped from their families and forced to attend
residential schools far away from their community. The intent was to strip them of their Indianess and
force upon them to become white (Geddes). There was a definite agenda to erase their memories of
their culture and be westernized. They were considered inferior beings and were not allowed to speak
their language, nor were they allowed to see their families. These Indigenous children were victims of
repetitive emotional, sexual and physical abuse in these residential schools. Irene painfully recalls her
time at Duck Lake Indian Residential where she was repeatedly sexually abused by the principal. At
the young age of twelve the principal sent her to be a maid for his friends without permission granted

Examples Of Petruchio In Taming Of The Shrew
Petruchio s Abusive Behavior in The Taming of the Shrew
Khadijah Ceesay
Domestic abuse happens all the time, yet is often overlooked, ignored, or excused. For Katherine
Minola, her husband s friends, servants, and her family overlook any signs of abuse her husband,
Petruchio, shows. To any upstander, it would ve been clear to see that Petruchio would use his power
to control Katherine and break her spirit. Petruchio s verbal and physical behavior towards Katherine
and others creates many signs that his relationship with Katherine may become abusive.
From the moment the play introduces Petruchio s character, he begins to show behavioral warning
signs. When he first arrives in Padua to visit his friend Hortensio, he gets into a small

This misunderstanding leads Petruchio to wring Grumio by the ears causing Grumio to plead for
someone to save him. Hortensio hears the commotion in front of his door, but doesn t mention it to
either Petruchio or Grumio. Instead, he tells Petruchio of a young lady within Padua, Katherine, who
Petruchio should consider courting for marriage. This behavior from Hortensio is so terrible because
he is well aware of abuse Petruchio is capable of but he still sets him up with Katherine, knowing that
Petruchio is likely to abuse her too. The second behavioral warning sign Petruchio shows is when
arrives late to his own wedding, causing Katherine to believe she is being stood up on her wedding
day. When he does finally arrive, he is dressed in ridiculous clothing with his horse lame in its hips.
He is quite the spectacle to behold, much to the disappointment of Tranio and Baptista, who implore
him to change into more suitable clothing. He refuses their requests and states to me she s married, not
unto my clothes (III.ii.119). This is the first behavioral warning sign presented by Petruchio to
Baptista, showing a less charming version of him. This sharp change in

Williams High School in Virginia. During this time there was a lot of racial tension due to a black
teenager being killed by a white store owner. To help bring racial tensions down, the school system

Herman Boone was not respected as a man or a coach, and he spent much of his time defending
himself. The white assistant coaches treated him as an inferior, some of the white football players
disrespected him, and the black players viewed him as their friend. This was evident when the black
athletes held up the black power sign as the coach entered the gym. The coach was faced with racism
and disrespect. At first that coach was portrayed as controversial, sarcastic and tough. This was shown
when Coach Boone wouldn t allow a player to get water and when the athletes were made to run a
mile for making a mistake on the field. Although this was bad, Coach Boone used it as a way to gain
respect, and he allowed the assistant coach to correct him about withholding water. He wasn t just
faced with the job of training and creating a winning team. He had to gain respect, keep his job, judge
people s intentions, and get his football players to come together as a team. As a black coach he faced
way more challenges than Coach Yoast, the white coach, would ever have had to deal with. The
situation that he was in was extreme; therefore, he had to take extreme measures to gain control of the
situation. Eventually, the movie portrayed the fact that Coach Boone had the skills that a coach should
possess. He was knowledgeable, caring, fair, and a quick thinker. He had to use those skills to coach

Creon Tragic Hero In Antigone
Aristotle s pieces are either comedies or tragedies. The majority of tragedies have the main role of a
tragic hero. Tragic heroes rise to power, experiences a major catastrophe, doom themselves with
hamartia, have the occurrence of peripeteia, builds up events leading to their downfall, must be
enlightened, and the audience needs catharsis . In Antigone, Creon fits the tragic hero mold the best.
Creon s noble blood allows for the the appointment of kingship. Sharing ties with Jocasta, the late
Queen of Thebes, Creon rises to power once the two sons of Oedipus, an exiled king of Thebes, die.
The two sons of Oedipus and Jocasta take turns ruling Thebes, yet Etocles, the younger brother, exiles
his brother, Polynices. This unruly act brought upon war and both brother died killing one another. As

Case Study Of Arunachalam Mruganantham
Abstract
Introduction
Uncertainty and ambiguity are a key challenge to every business organization existing today. Every
individual should be equipped to build strategies that not only defends threats but also helps in taking
advantage of the available opportunities. Obstacles and uncertainty must not prevent a person from
doing things differently. Arunachalam Muruganantham is a person whose determination transformed

Why Did The Feud Between The Capulets And The Montagues...
Three Questions Why did the feud between the Capulets and the Montagues begin? One reason for the
feud could be different social standings. It can be assumed that the Montagues are of a lower social
class, due to the way they speak. If you read closely you can notice the Montagues speak with a bit
less rhythm than the Capulets do. How did Lord Montague know where Romeo was early morning?
Due to the fact that Lord Montague is Romeo s father, it is logical to simply infer that Lord Montague
followed Romeo. Lord Montague would have done this after noticing the behavioral changes Romeo
was exhibiting. These changes then would have concerned Lord and Lady Montague, prompting at
least one of them to follow Romeo to see why he was so upset. Why do Lord and Lady Capulet want
Juliet to marry Paris? Although Lord and Lady Capulet both want Juliet to marry, I feel like they both
have different reasons. Since Lord Capulet wants to wait until Juliet is older, and even hosts a party so
Juliet may choose who she marries; I feel as though he wants her to get married to improve her mental
health. He is definitely considering Juliet s feelings more than Lady Capulet is. While Lady Capulet
does ask Juliet her thoughts on marriage, she gives off the impression that her speech would be the
same regardless of Juliet s answer. Even though Juliet says she is not interested in marriage, Lady
Capulet attempts to persuade her. But not just to marry in general, to marry Paris. Lady Capulet s

James Cameron Research Paper
Final Writing Assignment James Cameron James Cameron is one of the most successful American
directors in the world. He has directed blockbuster hits like The Terminator films (the first two films),
Titanic, and Avatar; just to name a few. He has evolved his style and accustomed to different genres of
film, but it is obvious that he is a big science fiction fan. His style of directing is very unique and it is
often packed with controversial ideas and great dramatic music and effective camera angles. His use
of mise en scene gives his films a certain feel that captures his audience and makes them feel part of
the world he is creating. James Cameron s unique use of mise en scene in the films, Terminator 2:
Judgment Day, Titanic, and Avatar have made those movies instant classics and universes many
people feel touched by. Terminator 2: Judgment Day starts off with a clear visual message in its

This is very evident in the film Avatar. Cameron used special effects on most of the movie and he
wanted to get the shots perfect. The templates used for color, lighting and composition in the film
were carefully chosen to fit the mood he was trying to capture. His attention to detail is on another
level in this film. From the book The Futurist, as Cameron re watched different shots he said , I saw
the flowers as much more translucent, with a lot more transmuted light. Color and lighting is
extremely important in this film because it is what set the tone for the viewer. The long shots of the
floating green mountains of Pandora takes the viewer into a unique experience that gives off a sense of
great scale and adventure. It made the audience feel like they were connected to a different world
because of how amazing it felt to look at something so colorful and

The Physiology of Laughter Essay
Laughter is part of everyday life for every human. Although we do it daily, most people do not know
how it works, nor how it helps us with our health. Something that we do all the time is something that
we do not even think about. We, as humans, take laughter for granted. It might come easy to us, but
laughing is actually very complex. It also helps us physically, mentally, and socially. Although, many
people do not agree on humor, we can all agree on one thing: laughter is important.
Laughter is unique movements of the face and body that are expressed due to amusement and
sometimes contempt or derision. (Websters) But do we not need more than that? Do we not deserve to

Whenever the voice box is closed, air cannot travel. However, when the larynx is just barely open, it
produces sound. When we hear the sweet music of laughter, is it because we breathed out while our
vocal cords were not open and with the help of our respiratory muscles, we produce the steady sound
of laughter. But, what goes on in the brain whenever we laugh?
Of course, we all know that the brain is one of our major organs and our brains are always in use, but
what goes on in the brain when we laugh? The study of laughter and the affects it has on the body is
called gelotology. Although laughter may come easy and natural to us, our body has to go through a
rather complex process. We don t know much, but researchers have done studies that have shown that
laughter is caused by many parts of the brain. These researchers have done many tests by hooking
subjects up to an electroencephalograph (EEG). An EEG is a record of the our brain s electrical
activity. (2013, Babylon) When doing these tests, researchers realized that the brain made the same
continuous electrical pattern. The subjects were then shown something that was funny. Not even five
tenths of a second after the subject saw the joke, an electrical waved moved through the cerebral
cortex. This part of the brain, the cerebral cortex, determines intelligence, determines personality,
motor functions, planning and organization, and touch sensation. Laughter would result after the wave

Suicide and the Harm Principle
The Right to Suicide and Harm
Suicide under circumstances of extreme suffering is the morally right action as opposed to the
alternative, living in pain. J.S. Mill s Utilitarian ideals provide strong reasoning to support suicide in
instances of severe pain, while Kant s moral theory of the categorical imperative provides reasoning
against taking one s own life. Mill s principle of utility is the maximization of pleasure and the
reduction of pain. Mill regards happiness as the greatest good in life and all actions should be
performed as long as they have the tendency to produce pleasure. Mill also introduces the Harm
Principle. The Harm Principle is used to determine whether coercion is justifiable based on the impact

Mill would invoke the Harm Principle. The act of committing suicide would be a self regarding act.
As the harm is directly imposed on herself, all other consequences of her action are considered
indirect as they occur through Jane s self regarding act. Hence, Jane should suffer no moral or legal
sanctions for committing suicide. Furthermore, she has evaluated her options and upon deep
consideration, decided that the pain of living with her condition outweighs the pleasure of living with
her condition. A utility calculation can be formalized to further justify her decision on utilitarian
grounds. (Utilitarianism)
For Jane: 1. Tendency to cause pleasure: 100 units 2. Tendency to cause pain: 50 units
For the aggregate of the other people affected: 3. Tendency to cause pleasure: 10 units 4. Tendency to
cause pain: 20 units
Hence: Pleasure: 110 units, Pain: 70 units. Perform the action.
For Jane, dying would be the ultimate pleasure as it is the end of her suffering. She views suicide as
the mean to her ultimate end: happiness. For Jane, the pain of dying is less than the pain of living.
After seeing her mother die from Parkinson s disease, she makes the valid decision to not die the same

Summary Of The Marginal World By Rachel Carson

TLIT 437: Nature and Environment in American Literature
Ellen Bayer
Conversation Essay
As reading this journal the topic that has come to my attention is how a lot of these nature writers are
looking at nature either as a positive or negative experience. Most of these shorts journals are looking
at nature for not only for what it is, but what it offers, for example in the short The Marginal World
written by Rachel Carson she portrays The Shore is an ancient world, for as long as there has been an
earth and sea there has been this place of the meeting of land and water. Yet it is a world that keeps
alive the sense of continuing creation and of the relentless drive for life. Each time that I enter it, I
gain some new awareness of its beauty and its deeper meanings, sensing that intricate fabric of life by
which one creature is linked with another, and each with its surroundings. (481). Based off this quote,
we can see that a lot of these authors did not only see nature as something that could be touched, but
rather seen as a spiritual entity. For me I believe the title The Marginal World was clarified in the first
part of the essay by the historic war even between both surfaces the wave and the land. She viewed
both landscapes as both spiritual entities. When she talks about how the waves would always
withdrawal, but never gave up, how the boundary of the sea was indescribable, this showed us how
much Rachel Carson adored the ocean. It seemed

Angela Carter’s The Bood Chamber Essay
In Angela Carter s The Bloody Chamber, the theme of transformation appears throughout the short
story cycle. The hero/heroine s virginity acts as a source of strength that protects them from harm.
Their lack of fear also saves them from death. Virginity acts as power of potentia, either literally or
symbolically and results in a release of an observed transformative power. The bloody chamber serves
a different symbolic purpose of transformation for Beauty in The Courtship of Mr Lyon , the heroine
in The Tiger s Bride and the Countess in The Lady of the House of Love . Each of these characters

International Financial Reporting Standards Board
With the number of countries that have switched to the International Financial Reporting Standards
(IFRS) for their financial reporting, as well as the continued efforts made between the IFRS and US
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), it is evident that international convergence is
an overall appealing idea for global reporting. With that said, US GAAP has worked with IFRS to
create a universal standard; and while progress has been made to diminish variances between the
standards, there are still large, if not unattainable, efforts ahead of us. The hype over a proposed
uniform set of global accounting standards appears to be stunted by the lost efforts in the convergence
project between the US GAAP and IFRS. As the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB)
moves forward with its standards setting, there must be a reevaluation of the goal for reporting
standards and efforts with the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB).
Opinions regarding the optimal direction of the standard boards vary amongst regulators, practitioners,
and academics. Many will argue to support continuing efforts for a uniform set of global accounting
standards and believe this will drive more efficient international business. Those who are in favor of a
global standard consider it to be of global best interest, and that the standard is worth pursuing for the
long term benefit considering the increasing prevalence of cross border transactions. Recent global

Hypothesis: If different sized beakers (100 ml, 50 ml, 250 ml, 400 ml) are placed over the lit candle,
then the candle will stay lit for longer if it s covered by the largest beaker (400 ml) ,because fire needs

The Danger Of A Single Story By Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
he world is a diverse place. Many cultures, societies and religions, each of them having rich histories.
Due to such abundance of knowledge, being unaware of a society or culture is common. However,
having the wrong idea of a culture or a community could potentially be a devastating problem. In fact,
this is a prevalent problem as false lies about communities are easily spread out to group of people, the
so called fake news problem. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is an Nigerian author who addresses this
problem in her TED Talk at Oxford, England. She asserts that single stories of a place/community can
create a critical misunderstanding. Moreso, the problem is more pervasive than previously thought.
They are not necessarily harmful yet pervasive. For example, subtle stereotypes such as all Asians
only want to be engineers and doctors or every college dropout is an utter failure. Due to such
pervasiveness and consequences, open mindedness is of utmost importance in order to have a peaceful
and a more understanding world or in author s terms, When we realize that there is never a single story
about any place, we will regain a kind of paradise .
In The danger of a single story , Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie argues that having a narrow perspective
of a community, person or a nation can create a critical misunderstanding. Ms.Adichie provides an
example where she believed that only people with white skin and blue eyes can exist in literature
because all the characters in the books

A Brief Synopsis Of The Emerging Ethanol Fuel Industry
A brief synopsis of the Emerging Ethanol Fuel Industry
Ethyl alcohol or grain alcohol, commonly known as Ethanol (commonly seen as E 85 at the gas
pumps) has a long history in the United States. Henry Ford considered it the fuel of choice. [1] In fact,
his very first automobile, built in 1896, ran solely on ethanol. He said, There is enough alcohol in one
year s yield of an acre of potatoes to drive the machinery necessary to cultivate the fields for a
hundred years. But it s use in that capacity on a commercial scale was never realized due to the
abundant resources and soon to arrive efficient production processes of petroleum products. However,
with the highly volatile petroleum markets, mounting environmental concerns and the increase of
gasoline fuel prices it is being reconsidered. To where in 2013, ethanol use had displaced as much as
462 million barrels of imported oil, reducing the dependence on foreign oil by 6 percent. [2]
From an Economical View
In the last 10 years alone gasoline fuel prices have doubled, from just over $1.59 a gallon in 2004 to
$2.59 a gallon, as of December 2014. But the unstable fluctuations in the market, along with the
nation trying to unshackle itself from the dependence of foreign petroleum, along with the added fear
that the world has reached or is on the verge of reaching peak oil has spurred renewed interest within
the alternative fuel industry as a whole, with the primary focus focused on ethanol. [3] On the
economic front,

Body Mass Lab
Introduction The topic examined in Lab 4 is how Body Mass, Brain Size, and Life History variables,
are distinct amongst humans, apes, and other primates. These variables are related because they
demonstrate positive correlations in the scatterplots of Age of First Reproduction (years), Maximum
Lifespan (years), and Observed Brain Size (cc) of the species, in relation to an increasing Body Mass
(kg). By examining these variables, the Encephalization Quotient (EQ), Age at First Reproduction,

I believe that the estimates were inaccurate because they were both too high or too low, as indicated in
the data. Referencing the scatterplot of Observed Brain Size (cc) versus Body Mass (kg), the data
demonstrate that the relative brain size for the fossil hominins increases as the body mass of the
species increases. Likewise, referencing the scatterplot of Age at First Reproduction (yrs) versus Body
Mass (kg), the data demonstrate that the average age at first reproduction of species increases as the
body mass increases. Lastly, referencing the scatterplot of Maximum Lifespan (yrs) versus Body Mass
(kg), the data demonstrate that the average Maximum Lifespan of species increases as their Body
Mass increases. However, there is an outlier in all three of these graphs, presumably the data of
humans, in which their body mass yields higher values of age at first reproduction, maximum lifespan,
and observed brain size, suggesting a slow life history compared to other species. Moreover, by
observing the measures of EQ for the species, the relative brain size for the fossil hominins can aid us
in reconstructing their life histories by demonstrating how deviated the observed brain sizes are when
compared to the expected brain size. Therefore, by measuring the EQ with the observed brain size and
the expected brain size, it allows

Advertising Influence Advertising
Magazines are a popular item in the United States. They can be found in stores, offices, houses and
more. They are very popular for advertising just like many more things. Television, news, radio,
billboards and online are just a few of the forms of media companies use to advertise their products or
services. The ads manipulate consumers in different ways which can be either positive or negative.
The companies use their ads to influence the consumer to either buy or use their service.
One of the ways advertisements influence consumers is through visualization. Colors play a big role in
drawing in consumers. According to Danciu the primary colors like red, yellow and blue tend to
emphasize simplicity as well as speed. The secondary colors are created by mixing two primary colors
together. These include green, orange and purple. The tertiary colors can be created by mixing
secondary and primary colors together. If they want manipulate the consumers, the advertisers are
mixing the images and colors together in such ways that can persuade and direct the consumers to
purchase the product by deceiving and misleading them. Colors have emotions linked to them and
what Danciu is saying is that companies can mix them to grab the consumer s attention and persuade
the consumer into purchasing their product. People often make judgements based on color, whether it
is race or colors of the rainbow so this concept of mixing colors to persuade a consumer is not far
fetched. According to

Comparing Marie Clements s The Unnatural And Accidental Women
Between 1965 and 1988 Gilbert Paul Jordan was linked to the murders of ten women of aboriginal
dissent. Marie Clements play The Unnatural and Accidental Women puts a fictional account to the
realistic murders of the aboriginal women in Vancouver. During the original murders the large
misunderstanding and misinterpretation around aboriginal culture caused the murders of the women to
be ignored, the women themselves to be viewed as invisible, or the murders to be deemed not
important or accidental . In her play Clements recreates the original murders of the boozing barber ,
Gilbert Paul Jordan, however in the play she creates an identity for the murdered women that was not
shown by the media, police or culture in Vancouver at the time of the original murders. The original
murders of the boozing barber were completed by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the most important aspects that Sharon Sullivan highlights in her article about the play is how
its surrealism allows for the focus to be on the women, and not the killings. Clements decentres the act
of murder by focusing on the experiences and actions of the women before and after death,
emphasizing their individuality and the possibility of redemption. (Sullivan, 68) The film, however,
nullifies any attempt by the play to humanize these women, for it cuts out the witty dialogues between
the women, portraying them only as they are represented in the media, as alcoholics, prostitutes, and
victims. The movie places the murder and Rebecca, Aunt Shadie s Daughter, at the center of the plot
line and completely erases the side stories of the murdered aboriginal women. While the screenplay is
also written by Marie Clements, it dehumanizes the women by stripping them of their identity and
turning their stories back into a classic Hollywood horror

The Space Of Deep Sea Exploration
Since the 1950s, America and the rest of the world have been fascinated by space exploration,
extraterrestrial life, and alien planets; but in reality our own planet is an alien planet. To this day only
five percent of our oceans have been discovered, while our oceans make up seventy one percent of the
earth. Scientists believe that the oceans have been around since the earth was just molten rock and in
its early formation, also all life originated from the ocean. So why explore out when we haven t
explored our own ocean? Our oceans could contain many secrets to the world that are still unknown.
According to Ryan Carlyle, a subsea hydraulics engineer Works in the oil industry as an engineer for
Deepwater well control equipment; he directs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The animal has a pattern formed by its dark purple veins. This specific dive assisted researchers
discover 40 new varieties of Nudibranch near the harbor of Puerto Galera in the Philippines. But you
don t have to go to remote parts of the world to find new species; the entire ocean is alive, new species
of coral is also being discovered. Coral is usually not recognized as living, and is only really
mentioned when ships sail too close to shore and sink after running into coral reefs; but coral isn t
only found in the shallows. Biologist Thomas Shirley and a group of scientist of the Harte Research
Institute at Texas A M University conducted a deep sea coral expedition of the coast of Canada. By
using a mini submersibles to closely study deep sea coral and compare them to shallow water corals;
Shirley learning that deep sea corals grows anywhere from one and a half meters to three meters high
in large pastures. Also deep sea coral form colonies instead of reefs like shallow water coral; these
colonies contain thousands of animals such as fish, crabs, and shrimp. Some coral down in the depths
produce bioluminescence, little pulses of light which are usually either blue or green whenever a fish
or other animals rub alongside it when passing by. There is no telling what else we could learn from
these oceanic animals, we are just now learning some aquatic life possess secrets humans have not yet
to discover. Johnathan Wilker, a chemist and a materials engineer

Travels of a T-Shirt Essay
What Would Happen if the New T shirt Market Operated as a Free Market? The producers in the new
T shirt value chain do not operate in a free market system. Government protectionist measures such as
subsidies, quotas, and tariffs have limited economic success to a fortunate few. According to the
author Pietra Rivoli, the winners at various stages of my T shirt s life are adept not so much at
competing in markets but at avoiding them. These winners include the U.S. cotton farmer and the
China apparel industry. Their market dominance and profitability have benefitted significantly from
the political prowess of their government to limit competition. If government intervention was
removed from all segments of the new T shirt value ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this transition will be gradual given the U.S farmers advantage in producing more yields per
acre and higher grade cotton. With the elimination of U.S. government subsidies, cotton textile
manufacturers will pay more for cotton. As the leading buyer of cotton, the Chinese apparel industry s
profitability will be reduced due to their inability to pass on increased cotton prices to their buyers.
China s manufacturing costs had already increased by as much as 40% due to higher market wages
and costs with complying with worker and environmental protections. Although China has substantial
labor and is accused of utilizing sweat shops to keep their costs extremely low, their increasing
manufacturing costs have opened the door to other countries with cheap labor such as Vietnam and
Pakistan. Although the Chinese apparel manufacturers would lose profitability due to rising cotton
prices and competition from emerging countries, they stand to gain the most from the removal of U.S.
quotas and tariffs. According to the author, in 2007, 95% of the 20 billion garments Americans made
were purchased overseas. Due to U.S. trade barriers, China s share of the U.S. apparel import was only
30%. Once these barriers were removed, Chinese apparel would flood the American market due to
their low cost and dominance in garment manufacturing. Experts predict that China could eventually
supply 85% of U.S. apparel. As they increase their market share in the

I Do Not Own Harry Potter Essays
Dark mist swirls, creating cruel images. Harry saw himself in the mist with bloodshot eyes and
unnaturally sharp teeth, pale and unnerving. He gasps and the picture wisps away like thin, black sand.
High pitched screams sound from every direction. Behind the mist, Harry could see Hermione and
Ginny laying on the ground. His fists clench and shake, and he cries out in desperation. There was
clearly blood covering their ripped clothing and some very nasty bruises. He cries out again, but they,
too, disappear. No... The mist clears and he sees Ron, in his striped pajamas, reaching an arm out to
Harry. He tries to run to the ginger but seems to be running backwards. Slowly, Harry could see deep
cuts forming on his best mate s arms and face. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bring Ron back. His counterpart chuckles and kicks Harry roughly on the back. Tears overflowed and
the raven quietly sobbed, wishing for the ginger s comfort. You did this! He heard an accusing voice
shout. Harry glanced up, still curled in on himself, to see Ron but much worse than before. Bones
could be seen under deep cuts or where sections of skin was missing. Harry shook his head, tears
blurring his vision and staining his glasses. You did this to me! Ron yells. Both boys bodies shook
violently, one from anger and the other from fear and deep sadness. No... I.. didn t. No. Harry
whispered and was kicked again, this time by his best mate. He hears the dark laugh behind him again.
Oh, but you did. His counterpart concluded in his head. Harry could feel the tears pouring profusely,
refusing to look pass his eyelids. You caused it all. You brought their demise. Another sharp kick
directed at his ribs made Harry yelp and spread his body out, away from the new bruise. It laughs
again, bending in front of Harry s face. It s quite fun, is it not? Seeing the destruction you bring, quite
comical. It quickly stands and faces Ron with the dagger again in its hand. The demon smiles
wickedly at Harry before placing the knife at Ron s throat, slicing the pale ginger s skin. After a long,
agonizing moment, Harry achingly crawls to the white, lifeless body. He places a soft hand on Ron s
bloated chest, still filled with air, completely

  • 2. Who Decided To Make A Riot Analysis Assignment 4 Who decided to make a riot one day? Why did they think violence should be the answer? When it comes down to the people getting our voice heard, brutality should not have been a thought that came to mind. Riots are irrelevant because of how innocent people are victimized when they aren t the ones causing the unfair treatment in our society. I wonder why individuals go against their own people when it s the ones who are in charge of decision making who we should be angry with. I think that s exactly what the government wants us to do, go against each other so they could throw us in prison and make billions of dollars off of us. • 3. Persuasive Essay On The LGBT Community The LGBT community is often referred to as the gay community, which includes lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered people. This community has not always been supported by others. There has been many challenges and attempts to get equality dating back to 1969 with the stonewalls riots, which were violent riots against a police raid by the gay community. This is just one of the many protest and riots that will take place with their fight against discrimination and inequality. Gilbert Baker was a rights activist, in 1978 he stitched the rainbow flag that has now become the international symbol of gay pride. In the 1980 s the AIDS epidemic brought more challenges, which people who did not support the LGBT community only used to further block legal protection. It would be years before they even got the right to same sex marriage. In 2004 Massachusetts became the first state in the United States granting gays to legally marry, but it would not become legal in all 50 states until June 26, 2015. Even though people are now allowed the right to same sex marriage, there are still many struggles and injustices that they still face today. Members of the LGBT community should be treated equal and provided with constitutional rights, access to the military, and legal protection regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Every U.S citizen has Constitutional Rights, yet LGBTs are constantly getting their rights violated. Although the Fourteenth Amendment, ratified at the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Observations Of Albert Einstein s Theory Of Relativity The most recent confirmation of Albert Einstein s theory of relativity was the detection of gravitational waves. This discovery revolutionised our understanding of science and the universe. It has also unlocked the potential for future scientific endeavours especially in the field of gravitational wave astronomy. Spacetime is the union of the three spatial dimensions and the one time dimension into a continuum1. According to general relativity, gravity is the curvature of this spacetime due to the presence of mass. The greater the present mass the greater the curvature. Extremely large changes in spacetime curvature create wave like ripples in spacetime that propagate at light speed.2 These extremely large changes can occur due to black holes merging together. These ripples are gravitational waves, and can be detected. In 1916 gravitational waves were predicted by Albert Einstein in his theory of general relativity.1 Gravitational waves were first detected on 14 September 2015 by the Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory (LIGO).3 This observatory consists of two installations, one in Hanford and one in Livingston, America. The waves detected were caused when two black holes of 36 and 29 solar masses merged. LIGO splits a laser beam down 2 perpendicular 4 kilometre tunnels, that are reflected back to their origin where they recombine at a detector. The two light beams travel the same distance, so normally when they recombine they cancel each other out. In the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Essay on Ibm Eclipse Case Study 1. Why was the creation of an independent IBM software group [SWG] strategically important? Note: this discussion should include some view of hardware as well. The creation of an independent IBM software group (SWG) was strategically important for the following reasons: a) A category of software named middleware was emerging in the mid 90s. At this point SWG abetted IBM to emerge in the middleware market. b) SWG was also strategically important for IBM to help focus its software activities and prepare for a new age in distributed networked computing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Very soon java became popular in the software community, which resulted in more and more companies building their line of products in Java. Though Java quickly gained momentum, it raised new business and technical issues. On the business side, java weakened the stronghold of other application development tools, especially Microsoft s Visual Studio. Also, market was becoming fragmented with the introduction of many similar java development tools, thus increasing the development costs for the ISVs trying to develop complements for java products. There were two issues created by Java on the technical side. First, Java provided Swing, its own graphic environment to provide consistent look and feel across multiple OSs which resulted in customers losing familiarity with their native OS. Second, Java s Swing implemented their own set of graphic libraries adding computing overhead, making Java applications slower than those applications which directly used native operating system s graphic libraries. 4. Is a single platform a utopia, a nightmare, or something in between? To develop your answer, think of this from the various points of view [POVs] of different IBM organizations and managers. Single platform across all IBM tools would be a utopia, but creating the platform by overcoming all the internal opposition at IBM and convincing the existing product ... • 11. TFSA Vs Rrsp Essay A RRSP is a Registered Retirement Savings Plan that is an account set up to save for retirement whereas a TFSA is a Tax Free Savings Account that is set up for any type of savings goal. They both differ in their own ways however, both offer tax advantages to help one reach their savings goals. First, in order to make contributions to a RRSP one needs earned income on the other hand for a TFSA one does not. Also, another key difference between the two plans are that RRSP contributions are tax deductible as you can deduct your contribution from the income you report on the tax return. A TFSA is the exact inverse, as you cannot deduct your contribution on your tax return. Furthermore, when it comes to withdrawals, both of the plans are opposite once again as TFSA withdrawals are tax free and RRSP withdrawals aren t tax free. Also another difference would be the age limit for making contributions, with a RRSP one has to stop making contributions at the age of 71, whereas in a TFSA there is no age restriction, one could make contributions for how ever long they want. ... If the client is a young adult and is saving for an investment within the next 10 years, the client should invest in a TFSA. If the client however is older, someone who maybe is a full adult, perhaps over the age of 28 should look to invest in a RRSP, as that person will need money once he or she has retired. • 12. Epistemic Racism Lastly, epistemic racial discrimination has left irreversible emotional and physical damage that continues to haunt the Indigenous community. Epistemic racial discrimination refers to the positioning of the knowledge of one racial group as superior to another, it includes a judgment of not only which knowledge is considered valuable but is considered to be knowledge. In the context of Indigenous health, the imposition of western knowledge systems and particularly the use of western science to demonstrate the supposed inferiority of Indigenous peoples and Indigenous ways of knowing constitute acts of epistemic racism (Allan Smylie, p. 5, 2015). Geddes writes about the Indigenous children who were ripped from their families and forced to attend residential schools far away from their community. The intent was to strip them of their Indianess and force upon them to become white (Geddes). There was a definite agenda to erase their memories of their culture and be westernized. They were considered inferior beings and were not allowed to speak their language, nor were they allowed to see their families. These Indigenous children were victims of repetitive emotional, sexual and physical abuse in these residential schools. At first that coach was portrayed as controversial, sarcastic and tough. This was shown when Coach Boone wouldn t allow a player to get water and when the athletes were made to run a mile for making a mistake on the field. • 20. Why Did The Feud Between The Capulets And The Montagues... Three Questions Why did the feud between the Capulets and the Montagues begin? One reason for the feud could be different social standings. It can be assumed that the Montagues are of a lower social class, due to the way they speak. If you read closely you can notice the Montagues speak with a bit less rhythm than the Capulets do. How did Lord Montague know where Romeo was early morning? Due to the fact that Lord Montague is Romeo s father, it is logical to simply infer that Lord Montague followed Romeo. Lord Montague would have done this after noticing the behavioral changes Romeo was exhibiting. These changes then would have concerned Lord and Lady Montague, prompting at least one of them to follow Romeo to see why he was so upset. Why do Lord and Lady Capulet want Juliet to marry Paris? Although Lord and Lady Capulet both want Juliet to marry, I feel like they both have different reasons. Since Lord Capulet wants to wait until Juliet is older, and even hosts a party so Juliet may choose who she marries; I feel as though he wants her to get married to improve her mental health. He is definitely considering Juliet s feelings more than Lady Capulet is. While Lady Capulet does ask Juliet her thoughts on marriage, she gives off the impression that her speech would be the same regardless of Juliet s answer. Even though Juliet says she is not interested in marriage, Lady Capulet attempts to persuade her. But not just to marry in general, to marry Paris. Lady Capulet s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The study of laughter and the affects it has on the body is called gelotology. Although laughter may come easy and natural to us, our body has to go through a rather complex process. These researchers have done many tests by hooking subjects up to an electroencephalograph (EEG). An EEG is a record of the our brain s electrical activity. Mill s Utilitarian ideals provide strong reasoning to support suicide in instances of severe pain, while Kant s moral theory of the categorical imperative provides reasoning against taking one s own life. Mill s principle of utility is the maximization of pleasure and the reduction of pain. As the harm is directly imposed on herself, all other consequences of her action are considered indirect as they occur through Jane s self regarding act. Furthermore, she has evaluated her options and upon deep consideration, decided that the pain of living with her condition outweighs the pleasure of living with her condition. A utility calculation can be formalized to further justify her decision on utilitarian grounds. (Utilitarianism) For Jane: 1. Tendency to cause pleasure: 100 units 2. Summary Of The Marginal World By Rachel Carson Andrew Han 10/24/2015 TLIT 437: Nature and Environment in American Literature Ellen Bayer Conversation Essay As reading this journal the topic that has come to my attention is how a lot of these nature writers are looking at nature either as a positive or negative experience. Most of these shorts journals are looking at nature for not only for what it is, but what it offers, for example in the short The Marginal World written by Rachel Carson she portrays The Shore is an ancient world, for as long as there has been an earth and sea there has been this place of the meeting of land and water. Yet it is a world that keeps alive the sense of continuing creation and of the relentless drive for life. Each time that I enter it, I gain some new awareness of its beauty and its deeper meanings, sensing that intricate fabric of life by which one creature is linked with another, and each with its surroundings. (481). Based off this quote, we can see that a lot of these authors did not only see nature as something that could be touched, but rather seen as a spiritual entity. For me I believe the title The Marginal World was clarified in the first part of the essay by the historic war even between both surfaces the wave and the land. She viewed both landscapes as both spiritual entities. When she talks about how the waves would always withdrawal, but never gave up, how the boundary of the sea was indescribable, this showed us how much Rachel Carson adored the ocean. It seemed ... International Financial Reporting Standards Board With the number of countries that have switched to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for their financial reporting, as well as the continued efforts made between the IFRS and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), it is evident that international convergence is an overall appealing idea for global reporting. With that said, US GAAP has worked with IFRS to create a universal standard; and while progress has been made to diminish variances between the standards, there are still large, if not unattainable, efforts ahead of us. The hype over a proposed uniform set of global accounting standards appears to be stunted by the lost efforts in the convergence project between the US GAAP and IFRS. As the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) moves forward with its standards setting, there must be a reevaluation of the goal for reporting standards and efforts with the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). By examining these variables, the Encephalization Quotient (EQ), Age at First Reproduction, and Maximum Lifespan are then compared amongst humans and various apes. Likewise, referencing the scatterplot of Age at First Reproduction (yrs) versus Body Mass (kg), the data demonstrate that the average age at first reproduction of species increases as the body mass increases. Lastly, referencing the scatterplot of Maximum Lifespan (yrs) versus Body Mass (kg), the data demonstrate that the average Maximum Lifespan of species increases as their Body Mass increases. However, there is an outlier in all three of these graphs, presumably the data of humans, in which their body mass yields higher values of age at first reproduction, maximum lifespan, and observed brain size, suggesting a slow life history compared to other species. Moreover, by observing the measures of EQ for the species, the relative brain size for the fossil hominins can aid us in reconstructing their life histories by demonstrating how deviated the observed brain sizes are when compared to the expected brain size. • 43. Advertising Influence Advertising Magazines are a popular item in the United States. They can be found in stores, offices, houses and more. They are very popular for advertising just like many more things. Television, news, radio, billboards and online are just a few of the forms of media companies use to advertise their products or services. The ads manipulate consumers in different ways which can be either positive or negative. The companies use their ads to influence the consumer to either buy or use their service. One of the ways advertisements influence consumers is through visualization. Colors play a big role in drawing in consumers. According to Danciu the primary colors like red, yellow and blue tend to emphasize simplicity as well as speed. The secondary colors are created by mixing two primary colors together. These include green, orange and purple. The tertiary colors can be created by mixing secondary and primary colors together. If they want manipulate the consumers, the advertisers are mixing the images and colors together in such ways that can persuade and direct the consumers to purchase the product by deceiving and misleading them. • 44. Comparing Marie Clements s The Unnatural And Accidental Women Between 1965 and 1988 Gilbert Paul Jordan was linked to the murders of ten women of aboriginal dissent. Marie Clements play The Unnatural and Accidental Women puts a fictional account to the realistic murders of the aboriginal women in Vancouver. During the original murders the large misunderstanding and misinterpretation around aboriginal culture caused the murders of the women to be ignored, the women themselves to be viewed as invisible, or the murders to be deemed not important or accidental . In her play Clements recreates the original murders of the boozing barber , Gilbert Paul Jordan, however in the play she creates an identity for the murdered women that was not shown by the media, police or culture in Vancouver at the time of the original murders. One of the most important aspects that Sharon Sullivan highlights in her article about the play is how its surrealism allows for the focus to be on the women, and not the killings. Clements decentres the act of murder by focusing on the experiences and actions of the women before and after death, emphasizing their individuality and the possibility of redemption. (Sullivan, 68) The film, however, nullifies any attempt by the play to humanize these women, for it cuts out the witty dialogues between the women, portraying them only as they are represented in the media, as alcoholics, prostitutes, and victims. The movie places the murder and Rebecca, Aunt Shadie s Daughter, at the center of the plot line and completely erases the side stories of the murdered aboriginal women. While the screenplay is also written by Marie Clements, it dehumanizes the women by stripping them of their identity and turning their stories back into a classic Hollywood horror ... The Space Of Deep Sea Exploration Since the 1950s, America and the rest of the world have been fascinated by space exploration, extraterrestrial life, and alien planets; but in reality our own planet is an alien planet. To this day only five percent of our oceans have been discovered, while our oceans make up seventy one percent of the earth. Scientists believe that the oceans have been around since the earth was just molten rock and in its early formation, also all life originated from the ocean. So why explore out when we haven t explored our own ocean? Our oceans could contain many secrets to the world that are still unknown. Coral is usually not recognized as living, and is only really mentioned when ships sail too close to shore and sink after running into coral reefs; but coral isn t only found in the shallows. Biologist Thomas Shirley and a group of scientist of the Harte Research Institute at Texas A M University conducted a deep sea coral expedition of the coast of Canada. By using a mini submersibles to closely study deep sea coral and compare them to shallow water corals; Shirley learning that deep sea corals grows anywhere from one and a half meters to three meters high in large pastures. Also deep sea coral form colonies instead of reefs like shallow water coral; these colonies contain thousands of animals such as fish, crabs, and shrimp. Some coral down in the depths produce bioluminescence, little pulses of light which are usually either blue or green whenever a fish or other animals rub alongside it when passing by. There is no telling what else we could learn from these oceanic animals, we are just now learning some aquatic life possess secrets humans have not yet to discover. However, this transition will be gradual given the U.S farmers advantage in producing more yields per acre and higher grade cotton. With the elimination of U.S. government subsidies, cotton textile manufacturers will pay more for cotton. As the leading buyer of cotton, the Chinese apparel industry s profitability will be reduced due to their inability to pass on increased cotton prices to their buyers. China s manufacturing costs had already increased by as much as 40% due to higher market wages and costs with complying with worker and environmental protections. Although China has substantial labor and is accused of utilizing sweat shops to keep their costs extremely low, their increasing manufacturing costs have opened the door to other countries with cheap labor such as Vietnam and Pakistan. Although the Chinese apparel manufacturers would lose profitability due to rising cotton prices and competition from emerging countries, they stand to gain the most from the removal of U.S. quotas and tariffs. According to the author, in 2007, 95% of the 20 billion garments Americans made were purchased overseas. Due to U.S. trade barriers, China s share of the U.S. apparel import was only 30%. Once these barriers were removed, Chinese apparel would flood the American market due to their low cost and dominance in garment manufacturing. Experts predict that China could eventually supply 85% of U.S. apparel. As they increase their market share in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
