What Is Apple Tv Persuasive Essay
A few months ago, a new Apple TV box was released that seemed to show signs of an iOS style, home
game console. While the rumors brewed, excitement increased but it s now looking like
disappointment is inevitable. The strongest signs of this are coming by way of Disney Interactive.
They ve dropped support for the Apple device, ending cooperation with them for the time being.
DISNEY DROPS APPLE TV Struggles between Apple TV and Disney seem to be based about Disney
Infinity 3.0, a program that was launched on Apple TV in November. Support was just dropped which
means that no new features will be released from here on out. Instead, they will turn their attention
from Apple and on to more traditional gaming platforms like Xbox and Playstation. For those gamers
who have already made an investment in Infinity, that spells bad news. APPLE AMBITIONS
DESTROYED Apple had some large ambitions for Disney Infinity. It was on of the most full featured
games to launch with the hardware. It was supposed to be a deep and full gaming experience that
rivaled other consoles in every way. Instead, the family friendly household brand just couldn t find a
way to succeed on Apple TV. Before anyone points fingers at Disney, it should be noted that they are

Rio Tinto receives the health and safety benefits by reducing the risks that is happening on the mine
sites, such as reducing the labor exposure to landslides and geotechnical risks. This is the main reason
for the deployment of automated systems in the mine sites through the MOF project. It does not only
reduces the risk but also reduces the cost of money spent on labors in order to increase the production
when there is a sudden demand for the product and also reduces the environmental related issues and

Why Positive Intelligence Can Help An Hr Professional...
Introduction The power of positive thinking has been lauded for its ability to bring light and good
feelings to bad situations since the beginning of man. Everyone who was able to harness the power of
positive thought was able to bring new and innovative inventions to mankind because they didn t
allow failures and negative experiences shape the way they viewed the toils of their work. In other
words, people were able to see the glass as half full rather than half empty which brought about
positive outcomes because they were able to see through all the negative aspects of their work or life.
This brief discussion will talk about just that, the power of positive intelligence. I ll begin by defining
positive intelligence and talking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Importance of Possessing a Positive Intelligence As we ve seen from the definition of positive
intelligence, it seems as though the importance of mastering the concepts are self evident. We all want
to perform at our best in whatever task we take on providing the greatest possible product or resource
for our employer. We ve all worked with someone who has constantly portrayed a negative attitude
and it never contributed to a highly effective workplace. John Maxwell is a motivational speaker and
leadership expert has made a living off of getting people to think more positively through their daily
tasks to produce high level results. In his Daily Reader book he provides an example of what positive
thought and positive expectations can provide a person. He says that if a person gives themselves just
30 days of expecting the best of everything they will often receive the positive outcomes they
perceive. He says a person will get out of their life everything they expect from it, god or bad
(Maxwell, 2007). The power of positive intelligence can be profound on a personal and professional
level and its importance should not be discredited.
Becoming More Productive Through Positive Intelligence An HR manager can have a tremendous
impact on the productivity of an organization. One of the ways they can influence an organization is
by properly managing the change process and

Alcohol Bottle Rocket Analysis
This memo evaluates the quality of instructions to build an Alcohol Bottle Rocket, using terms, ideas,
and concepts from our English book. I am evaluating instructions to build an Alcohol Bottle Rocket.
Doing this I look at the things learned from reading pages 551 563, and comparing it to the Instruction
Checklist on page 572. I am analyzing whether the instructions incorporate type of audience, purpose,
subject, and an attractive design. I will also be looking at any precautions, item lists, the layout and
that it is wrote in the imperative mood, or active voice. Most of all I will be looking at whether or not
the instructions are clear and concise. The qualities that were acceptable are explained here. The
instructions address everyone, as the author includes that it is legal to possess in most countries and
cities. The purpose of the instructions explain how to build an Alcohol Bottle Rocket to have fun with.
The Author also denotes that it is relatively safe compared to other alternatives. A video was also
attached to these instructions, using another type of media to explain how to build this project. These
instruction have a clear title, an Item list, numbered steps, and an Item list. Images were also included
with every step and reflective of ideas that needed some explanation. The conclusion was present and
met all the requirements needed. The project met many of the qualities of a good set ... Show more

The layout of the instructions should be in a more readable layout. A complete mix of active and
passive voice, and too many words and phrases were used throughout. These instructions were not
concise, or direct. The author states the project is relatively safe, not stating any precautions. The title
anywhere except www.instructables.com would not be clear. Grammar and spelling were horrific, and
need to be corrected. These qualities should be corrected and re checked for

Doing Business In China Summary
Prior to reading the Harvard Business Review on Doing Business in China, I assumed that business
was a universal thing around the world. I assumed that business was the same in all countries. I
assumed that every country had the same end goals when it came to business. As a result, I assumed
that all countries followed a similar template for how business negotiations work. I was under the
assumption that business was all about numbers and money; I didn t expect to see so much energy
focused on creating relationships. I originally assumed China was a very strict and numbers based
country when it came to business. In my mind, China was this giant country where everything is made
and manufactured at a lower price. As a result, I assumed that ... Show more content on

As a result, Pepsi Co. has struggled to survive in the Chinese market. Pepsi Co. s equivalent to Sprite,
7Up, has not been met by the acceptance that Sprite received. Sales of Pepsi to 7Up have a ratio of 4:1
(Harvard Business Review on Doing Business in China). Ultimately telling us that Pepsi has been
unsuccessful at selling this product (In China, Coke Fights to Stay Ahead of Pepsi). From reading
about this, I have learned that it is critical that you understand you market in order to be successful.
This lesson that I learned is one that will help me in many of my future classes. I look forward to
traveling to China and observing peoples drink choices to see whether Coca Cola is actually more
common than Pepsi.
One of my favorite parts of this book was learning about how advertising differs in China. In America,
advertising is flashy. Many advertisements feature celebrities in hopes of gaining consumers attention.
Americans buy products they see celebrities using in hopes of becoming more like the famous people
they see using the products. This is very different from advertising in China. In China, ads place a
large focus on the facts. Product advertisements include the features and specifications of a product.
People in China want to know what the product is, how it is used and how it works. There is less of an
emphasis on trying to make a products look cool instead the goal is to show the product and help it

Generational Differences in the Classroom
Most people have a learning style that mirrors how they were taught when they were younger. It
should be noted that there is not a one size fits all method when it comes to learning. The key to being
able to appeal to each of the different generations is to offer diversity in teaching styles in order to
satisfy the different preferences. As of now, there are four generations that are in the workforce and
those four generations are: The Silent Generation, Baby Boomers, Generation X, and the Millennials.
This paper will examine the characteristics of these four generations, how their learning styles differ,
and what to provide to each group in order for their learning experience to be most rewarding.
The Silent Generation was born between the mid 1920 s to early 1940 s. The silent generation was
born in the middle of the Great Depression, and saw their parents struggle with finance issues
(Levonius, 2015). This generation learned to value the money that they had and tended to save more
than spend. This generation was raised in the midst of the World War, therefore this generation
preferred to keep their heads down and stay silent while working hard to achieve slow progress
(Levonius, 2015). In the classroom, members of this generation prefer to be in the background and not
the center of attention. They are a group that respects authority, does what is asked of them and does
not quit the job until complete. This generation grew up in a teacher centric educational system,
meaning that children should be seen and not heard. While they were in school if they spoke out of
turn there was usually some sort of punishment. The silent generation has a learning style that is based
on the classic classroom structure, and what that means is they prefer to sit in front of an instructor
and listen to the lecture. They like for learning to be taught in a linear format with feedback that is
clear (Levonius, 2015). It is common that this generation has decided to return to school simply for the
fact that they want to keep their minds sharp, after retirement. It is important for these adult students

Songs That Have Stood the Test of Time and Geography
Part 1 Background and Identification There are quite a number of songs that have stood the test of
time and geography to remain as vital and popular today as they were when first composed. Perhaps it
is because some of these songs simply transcend time and place and appeal to the core of human
emotion. Who cannot feel a thrill of excitement and humanity at the finale of Beethoven s 9th
Symphony, or shed a tear at a favorite Christmas carol? One song that fits this transcendence is La Vie
En Rose, literally, Life in Pink. This was first made popular in 1946 by French torch singer Edith Piaf.
Translated from the French idiom, the piece means seeing life through rose colored glasses, rather
perfect for Piaff s life and vocal talent, and even more perfect for a world turned upside down because
of World War II. At first, Piaf s colleagues and team did not think the song would be at all successful,
yet it became a favorite with audiences around the world, and Piaf s signature song (Bret, 2009). The
song quickly became so popular it was translated into several languages, and then the greatest
compliment of all imitated by singers in many different genres. Ironic since the words were almost
hastily scribbled on a cocktail napkin while Piaf was drinking with her friend Marianne Michel at a
cafà on the Champs Elysees (Burke, 2011, p. 118). Also, besides over 50 artists interpreting and
recording the work, it was recently made into a stage play and surprisingly successful

Little Pink House Assignment Eminent domain is the right of a government to seize and control
private property in return for compensation if it s specific purpose is for the greater good of the
community as a whole. The Little Pink House is a book that gives an example of a major court case
related to eminent domain from a journalistic account. The case of Kelo v. City of New London is the
most famous case of condemnation in the history of the nation. The book tells the inspirational true
story of Susette Kelo and her battle with the city of New London. Susette Kelo is woman who had

New London, Connecticut. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The project was unable to obtain investments and its plans were abandoned in the end. The promises
of new jobs and an increased tax revenue were all forsaken. Today, the property that was once a
neighborhood for families, is a vacant property with no beneficial purpose to the community that it
was meant to serve. American s view of eminent domain, because of the Susette Kelo case, have
changed dramatically since seeing the results from the economic project in New London. More
Americans believe that eminent domain should only be exercised in the case of benefiting the public
and not for the purpose of advancing economic activities of private parties. The case of Kelp V. New
London explains how important it is as public administrators to view and interpret policies to make
better decisions on how the process of implementation can better serve the needs of society for the

General Education Curriculum
The progress in the general education curriculum is broken down in a few parts. The general education
curriculum is to be taught to non disabled students, and IDEA requires students with disabilities be
involved to the maximum magnitude which is appropriate for each student individually. All students,
including those with disabilities, will participate in the general education curriculum and will meet
certain standards in that curriculum. Three practices or laws of progress in the general education
curriculum can be defined: progress toward IEP goals, which is required by federal law, participation
in State district wide assessments and establishment of state level performance goals and indicators.
First, progress talks about the importance of what the federal law requires and promotes. IDEA
(Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) requires specific categories of disabilities under which
children may be eligible for special education and related services. IDEA requires the IEP to show
how a student will be involved and progress in the general education curriculum. By using the student
assessments, IEP shows the student progress in present levels of performance, annual goal, and
supplementary aids and services, program ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
General curriculum must meet the standards of appropriate information given, improve instruction,
and making school accountable to students, their families, and the public. This general curriculum
allows the annual participation in state district wide assessments. The Common Core State Standards
(CCSS) was adopted by state education agencies. The standards were created to develop actuality
learning goals pertaining to each grade level, beginning elementary to high school graduate ready for
college and career. Students benefit for CCSS by being in high expectations to achieve success in their

The History of Metallica Essay
The History of Metallica
As the nineteen seventies came to a close so did many of the musical styles of that decade. While
some faced what seemed to be extinction others went through a sort of evolutionary process. The
bands that were at the top of the heavy metal ladder during this time were such acts as Motorhead,
Iron Maiden, and Tygers of Pan Tang. These groups would be just some of what the new crop of
heavy metal bands would consider inspirational. This style, which is typically referred to as The New
Wave of British Heavy Metal, would fuel and empower many acts to stardom. (Marshall 3) At around
this time, almost halfway across the world, Lars Ulrich got his first drum set in his home in
Copenhagen, Denmark. He was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

McGovney. Ron s mother owned several houses, and the vacant one James would be moving into was
doubled as a rehearsal space since Ron was learning how to play the bass guitar. (Doughton 15 16) As
nineteen eighty one rolled around both James and Lars were looking for musicians that shared the
same taste in music they each had. Lars decided to place an advertisement in a South California paper
called The Recycler. The only other ad that came close was James and so the two decided to meet.
Their first practice together was anything but smooth, considering the fact that Lars was still learning
and could not even keep his drum set upright. (Krgin 51) Even though Lars was clearly unprepared to
make a career out of music he had made some connections. He befriended a man named Brian Slagel,
who was in the process of forming his own record company named Metal Blade Records. Brian was in
the middle of doing a compilation project where his goal was to expose up and coming bands to the
general public. He pretty much guaranteed Lars a spot on his project if Lars could form a band. Lars
got the information back to James and so they decided to give it a try. James, Lars, Ron, and a friend,
guitarist Lloyd Grant went into a recording studio and recorded what would be Metallica s first song,
Hit The Lights. Slagel was clearly impressed and did not hesitate to place

Good To Great Level 5 Leader
There are five levels to James Collins book, Good to Great (Curtis Manning, 2015). Level 5 leaders
have personal humility and professional will. I do not know many Level 5 leaders personally, but one I
could classify as one would be my lead at Ryder Logistics. Even though he was not a supervisor or a
logistics manager, he does have the characteristics of a Level 5 manager.
Personal humility includes a leader who is never boastful, acts with determination, relies on group
success rather than being selfish and taking all the credit, never blame other people for his mistakes or
the customer, and looks for ways to improve (Curtis Manning, 2015). My lead never boasted about his
success . For example, when he received an interview offer for the transportation supervisor or even
when the assistant general manager approached him with the offer of a supervisor, possible logistics
manager position within the warehouse, he never went around boasting about his success. Instead, he
allowed his work and the success of his team to show what he was capable of. He was also never
selfish of the success of his team. When our department had no accidents, met our hourly picks,

Small Round Lenses Research Paper
There is a trick that makes high prescription lenses for nearsighted vision thinner. You can use it to
minimize the lens thickness of even low index lens materials such as standard CR 39 plastic. The trick
is buying small round lenses. The lens curvature of a minus prescription (for nearsightedness) is
concave. That is, the lens is thin at the center and gradually thickens until you reach the edge where it
s thickest. If you made the lens thin at the edge, it would be too thin at the center, which would make
the lens too fragile. Therefore, these lenses have an absolute minimum thickness at the center to
ensure its strength. This means that large lenses with a high minus prescription can have very thick
edges. The lower the lens material ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
High index lenses are compatible with a huge number of frame styles, which allows you to wear
glasses you feel good about. A large selection is necessary to find a frame style that works best with
the shape of your face. Not all styles are compatible with all types of faces. This is also true of frames
made for small round lenses. Small round lenses may work for people with angular features because
they soften their appearance. They also work for oval faces because any lens shape works for this type
of face. However, these lenses can make people with round faces look cartoonish, and can look out of
place on people with square faces. If you re physically active, your choice of sport frame styles is
greatly diminished. They Provide Less UV, Glare, and Wind Protection If you spend lots of time
outdoors, your eyes should be protected from ultraviolet. Avoiding UV associated eye problems
require consistent use of glasses or sunglasses that block the sun s UV radiation. Lenses that block UV
are less effective if they don t completely cover the eyes. UV light can enter the eyes by going around
the lenses. In other words, the smaller the lens, the bigger the gap through which UV reaches the eyes.
That s why sun glasses tend to be either large or tend to wrap around the

First Steps in Beginning Language Intervention
Summary The topic for today s reading was 1st Steps in Beginning Language Intervention. The first
assigned reading, Errorless Teaching and the Use of Transfer Procedures, established that the
difference between a great Applied Behavior Analysis program and a mediocre program is often in the
details of correct prompting procedures. It s important when teaching a child with autism or any
developmental delay that you not only know the science of ABA and the conceptual analysis of VB,
but also that you can deliver accurate and appropriate therapy. Prompts are the little nudges or hints
that will increase the likelihood of a correct response from your child. The bases of prompting include
the several difference types of prompts, and a hierarchy to identify how invasive the prompt is. For a
child to be successful is better to use the least intrusive prompt, such as physical prompt (partial
physical prompt), gestural prompts (model or imitative prompt/partial imitative prompt), and other
prompts (visual and textual prompts). Also this reading pointed out how too many antecedents and a
non invasive prompt cause the child to not complete the task that he is being asked to do and in to
reinforced the child s non compliance, such as the example of Lucas and his dad with the control
remote after Lucas has shortly begun his ABA therapy. When giving an instruction it s best to give
only one antecedent, expect only one behavior, and delivery only one consequence. Giving too much

Both of them had experienced sufferings beyond what one can imagine. Dostoyevsky felt that
suffering gives one the chance of puri6cation and transformation. Through his many ordeals of
suffering, ranging from the near death of his sick children or his epileptic seizures, to his early
imprisonment and exile to Siberia, Dostoyevsky felt that he eventually reached the point of happiness
The way of salvation is the way of suffering could often be heard mumbled from Dostoyevsky s
mouth. For these reasons, critics believe that Raskolnikov may have been a direct symbol of
Dostoyevsky and his suffering. (Kjetsaa, 346 349)
Dostoyevsky most likely modeled Crime and Punishment after his own experiences. Since the two
men s lives had striking similarities, many people believed that was evidence to prove their thinking.
As Raskolnikov was overcome with tremendous suffering, sent to Siberia, and fell madly in love with
a beautiful woman; so did Dostoyevsky within his lifetime. I do believe that the character

Kudler Fine Foods Network
After reviewing the Kudler Fine Food network, a major network overhaul will need to bring the
network up to par with the latest technology. If Kudler Fine Foods is not able to upgrade their systems
then they will fall behind the technological curve and will not be able to compete with other
companies. Kudler needs to do the upgrade not only to keep up with the advances with network
systems but needs to install the proper systems to increase profits. If Kudler does not do constant
upgrades then they will be forced to pay a larger amount for the larger upgrades in the future. It is vital
to install the proper systems that will have the longevity and the capability for future network
expansion without having to spend money on unnecessary upgrades. Currently all the sites are still
running 56K modems, this technology is outdated. This is technology is hindering the communication
speed between each site. Having a high speed connection is crucial to provide real time updates. These
updates provide the profits made each day and the inventory sold so that those items can be restocked
in real time. These modems will be used as redundant system and a new Wide Area Network (WAN)
will be created, each site will be setup with a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). The WAN will
connect all the WLANs together. This will boost the network speed of the WAN and improve the way
employees communicate. The network will be able to support a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)

Construction of an Islamic Center near Ground Zero Essay
The approval by the authorities in the United States to build an Islamic cultural center at a location
near the spot of the September the eleventh attacks in America resulted in a controversy that touched
on the basic rights of Americans protected by the first amendment of the American constitution. The
Commission for Landmark Preservation in New York approved the construction of the Islamic center
just two blocks away from the site of the World Trade Center because the two buildings torn apart to
give way for the construction of the Islamic center were not very distinctive landmarks in Manhattan
(Aljazeera). This decision proved to be divisive to the American public because it degenerated quickly

It also touched on the unique history of the ground zero as well. For example, many Americans who
opposed the construction of the Islamic center yet they are supporters of freedom of religion. For The
people who lost their friends and relatives in the September, the 11 attacks, their wounds were still
hurting in them and they could not tolerate anything close to the site because ground zero is the only
cemetery they have for their dead relatives (Gladstone). The construction of a Muslim center close to
the site represented an abomination to them because it symbolized the triumph of radical Islam in
America (McFarland). This emotional dimension of opposing the construction of the mosque provides
some validity in some of the arguments for the opponents of the construction of the mosque at a
location near the site of the September the eleventh attacks in lower Manhattan in New York. The first
falsehood Perpetuated by the media that resulted in the explosive nature of the debate is that the
Islamic center was being built at ground zero, the site of the former World Trade Center building. This
was not correct because the area approved for construction of the Islamic center is a building that used
to serve as a factory for Burlington coats two blocks away from the site of the World Trade Center
(Gladstone). This was a lie perpetuated by the media and some people opposed to the construction of
the Islamic center used to exploit and manipulate the emotions

Family Law Reform
Law reform has been rather effective in catering to contemporary issues concerning family members
in a equal and accessible way. Although, the effectiveness of law reform relating to family members
has been slow to develop, the current quality of family law, which is guided by the means of the 1975
Family Law Act (FLA) has been affecting justice for family members. The effectiveness of family law
has changed a lot over time. The legislation that has been changed to ensure the effectiveness of the
family law system includes the reform of the family laws Property (Relationships) Legislation
Amendment Act 1999 (NSW), Family Provision Act 1982 (NSW) (now replaced by the Succession
Act 2006 (NSW), Family Law Amendment (Shared Parental Responsibility) ... Show more content on

This change in law achieves justice for most same sex couples, though there still are some couples
who are negatively affected by this changing issue. The issue of shared parental responsibility is
another issue that provides difficulty in achieving justice for the family law. There is a belief that
equal shared parental responsibility is in the best interest of the child although this may not always be
the case. An example of not achieving justice in this area is if a divorcing mother claims that her ex
husband is abusive and her husband should not gain any sort of custody of her children; if the mother
does not have any evidence to back this up, her abusive ex partner may gain custody of their children
and the mother doesn t. This in itself is a huge injustice for the mother and her children. The
contemporary issue of surrogacy and birth technologies has been a long and argumentative topic.
Some people may argue that a woman bearing a child for another couple is a sacrifice of their body,
while others view it as an unethical and damaging process for the child; saying that the child is denied
their birth parents. The laws relating to surrogacy differ in many countries but most countries agree on
commercial surrogacy, saying that it be illegal for a woman to be paid to give birth to someone else s
child. The responsibility of the care and protection of children lies with the child s parents. The
decisions regarding children may include the child s health, schooling, cultural upbringing and many
other factors. The protection of the children becomes a problem when the parents of the children may
not be able to provide adequate care and protection for their children, which is when the law will start
to intervene in various

The Impeachment of President Bill Clinton
The Impeachment of President Bill Clinton The impeachment of President Clinton is something that
will be remembered forever. Along with the fact that a presidential impeachment has only happened
one other time since the Civil War, the publicity that came with the Clinton trial was extensive (Miller
2004). While the Republican and Democratic members of the House of Representatives had vastly
different views on impeaching President Clinton, the fact that only five Democratic Representatives
voted to impeach him truly shows how wide that gap was between the two parties. Clinton was
impeached on the grounds of perjury to a grand jury and obstruction of justice, with the vote on both
articles extremely close, a 228 206 vote on perjury to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whatever the merits of that argument, such action is clearly unnecessary. There is no need or
justification for us to take this important action in such haste (Rothenberg and Sanders 2000). In
another case, Democrat Rush Holt defeated Republican Michael Pappas in the 1998 contest of New
Jersey s 12th Congressional District, but Pappas still cast his vote on the impeachment. Holt believed
that Pappas should withdraw his impeachment vote because it s a matter of historic significance and
he doesn t have to answer to anybody (Rothenberg and Sanders 2000). Against Holt s and many others
views, Pappas, along with the other thirty nine representatives in their final term, participated in the
impeachment trial while facing no electoral accountability (Rothenberg and Sanders 2000). While the
Democrats still could have received some votes from the departing Republican representatives, the
chances that enough Republican representatives would vote non guilty to create a Democratic majority
were very slim. In the 105th Congress, the House of Representatives consisted of 227 members from
the Republican Party, 207 members from the Democratic Party, and one member who was
Independent but sided with the Democrats (Congressional Pictorial Directory). With the fifty two
percent Republican majority, as long as all 227 Republicans voted for the counts of impeaching
Clinton, no Democratic votes would be needed. This proved to be the

In considering the process of change in the relationship...
In considering the process of change in the relationship between Ireland and Great Britain between
1801 and 1921, how far can the 1886 Home Rule Bill be seen as a key turning point?
In 1815 Ireland was part of the union though by 1921 it was partitioned. The years in between saw
group and individual efforts in trying to change the relationship between Ireland and Great Britain.
Parnell s campaign for Home Rule is seen as a key turning point that potentially was the most
important kick starting change within the union.
1886 was undoubtedly a turning point as it gave hope for both a just and feasible solution to the
problem of the Irish government . In 1886 the Liberal Party Prime Minister of the UK, William
Gladstone, decided that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When O Connell won the Country Clare election in 1828 it seemed impossible for there to be no
change of the rules within parliament. The Roman Catholic Emancipation Act was passed in 1829 due
overall support in the House of Commons and it could be said that this led to positive change for Irish
Nationalism. Many opportunities were sprung open by this act, especially for the middle class, in
political and professional jobs in particular. Also, O Connell teamed up with the Whigs and managed
to pass a number of acts such as the Irish Church Act, which could also have been seen to help. O
Connell s success also seemed to forge a link between Irish nationalism and Catholicism. All of these
things seem to suggest that 1829 was a turning point for Irish nationalism.
However O Connell s hopes that emancipation would lead to repeal did not materialise. The Act has
succeeded in its intention to keep the union intact. The middle class gained most from it and became
content. They did not support the repeal campaign, and was a reason for its failure and furthermore,
there was no support in parliament for repeal of the union. There has at least been serious
consideration of change in the union in 1886.
By the end of the repeal campaign O Connell was receiving criticism from more extreme groups such
as Young Ireland. The Great Famine was a key event in changing the relationship between Great

Crime And Punishment During The Prohibition Era

Creating a legal age to cease the criminal behavior during the prohibition era would create a solution
because it s no longer illegal for people to sell or consume alcohol and organized crime rates within
gangsters would decrease. Prohibition began once the 18th amendment was passed, this banned the
manufacturing, selling, consumption, and transportation of alcohol. Alcohol was seen as the devil s
advocate so the government thought prohibition would help decrease violence and improve the lives
of so many Americans. During prohibition crime rates raised tremendously, people didn t care that
drinking or selling alcohol was illegal, they continued to drink anyways, opening up saloons,
speakeasies and illegal bars. One third of the adult population was willing to abstain from alcohol
during Prohibition; instead, drinking became a symbol of independence and sophistication. (

Emerald City-Social Club
Last week here at Cascadia, 3 women from the Emerald City Trans Social Club visited our class. The
Emerald City Trans Social Club is an all inclusive social and educational group for transgender people
living in the Seattle area.
I learned that transgender is an umbrella term for anyone who is a cross dresser and that for many
people being trans is like a part time job. For one of the guests, Alyssa, being Alyssa is her second life.
Meaning that she may dress as Alyssa for social events and outings. On the other hand, Debra is a

To further explain how transgender is an umbrella term, Alyssa created a transgender spectrum, which

Being transgender greatly involves identity, naïve realism, ethnocentrism, and relativism. This relates
to ethnocentrism because one who is not transgender or doesn t have a clear understanding may feel as
though it isn t necessary. I define ethnocentrism as the belief that one s own behavior and beliefs are
superior to others. In many cases, some people have even acted upon their sense of ethnocentrism
committing hate crimes, homicide, or even murder. This is a reflection of their belief that they are
superior. This also is a reflection of how societies enforce this concept of gender and feel threated
when someone breaks the boundary. As one of my classmates said, looking at gender from a religious
aspect, God is a sort of genderless being and when one is struggling with gender identity or
transgender, it may appear as though they are making a statement. One that is telling everyone else
that they are on the same level as God. Naïve realism relates to what the guest speakers discussed
because they explained that there are a lot of people who tend to kind of stop and stare at them simply
because they look different; they are foreign to them. To those who don t understand being
transgender, they may not understand how someone could such an identity crisis, as the feeling cannot
be perceived by one who has not endured it. I found this to especially relate to identity because among
age, language, and various other things, gender is one of the primary characteristics used to define
self. If someone is experiencing an identity crisis, to whatever extent, that s related to gender it
directly correlates with the concept of identity we ve been learning about in class. Understanding the
concept of being transgender may require a sense of cultural relativism. I define relativism as the
attempt to understand another culture s way of life from their own perspective. If someone is wanting

in breeding by tawny owls. This is because tawny owls only breed when there is abundance in prey.

The Outcasts Of Kill A Mockingbird By Harper Lee

A Mockingbird shows us how one small, peaceful, southern town during the Great Depression can be
engulfed in hatred, racism, and prejudice unseen by the outside world. In this seemingly quiet town in
the middle of Alabama, people are forced to live by racist ideals that their families have carried on for
generations. Although the citizens of Maycomb believe they are right and just, their prejudices
overtake their human conscious when the time comes for them to do the right thing. They truly believe
that they are a kind community of Christians who live by the words of the Bible. While Maycomb
includes all folks who think the same way as they do, they ban those who think differently or are from
an inferior race. Therefore, Boo Radley, Dolphus Raymond, and Mayella Ewell stand outside the

as the result of being forced out by others. Boo Radley is labeled an outcast and an outsider by the

Overfishing And Its Effects On The Ocean
Overfishing Leads to a Worldwide Oceanic Ecological Collapse People often take the ocean for
granted due to its vastness since it makes up over seventy percent of the Earth, however the integrity
of the ocean is deteriorating. One of the major, worldwide threats to the wellbeing of the ocean and its
inhabitants is overfishing. Overfishing affects not only the ocean, but also the land dwellers. Many
countries around the world depend on fish as their main source of food. Tons of fish are caught out of
the sea daily, however, the rate that fish are being hauled is far too high where fish stocks are
incapable of naturally recovering. There is a decline in population size of affected fish and some
species have even faced extinction. Overfishing is the leading cause of ecological extinction,
foregoing any other human disruptions to marine ecosystems, such as pollution, water degradation,
and climate change (Jackson, et al). Overfishing causes an overwhelming devastation upon the oceans
because it depletes food resources, disrupts the food web, and destroys habitats of aquatic organisms,
due to this, overfishing causes an oceanic ecological collapse worldwide. Overfishing is not a problem
that has recently arise, but a problem that started since the early 1800s. Overfishing first began when
people sought for blubber for lamp oil, which lead to a decline in whale population. By the mid 1900s,
some fish were almost wiped out, such as the Atlantic cod, herring, and sardines

therefore uses many different techniques to create a sense of tragedy in most of his plays including a
View from the Bridge. The playwright uses both dialogue and stage directions to get across feelings of
sadness and empathy from the reader, despite the morally corrupt theme.
The play begins with a full page of stage directions. The setting is warm and homely, and the viewer
understands that the residents are not rich, as they live in a block of flats. Subconsciously, this
automatically arouses sympathy from the viewer. Most of the play takes place inside one room, which

beginning, they appear to have a loving relationship You re an angel! . Soon, however, the relationship
s shiny and happy exterior begins to crack as Beatrice asks when am I going to be a wife again? . This
quote suggests that Beatrice knows that Eddie s feelings are straying elsewhere. She also mentions
that it s been three months . Eddie takes this as an insult to his masculinity and quiets her, telling her I

more than Eddie needs her throughout most of the play, until the very last moments when Eddie calls

tragic interaction between the two shows Eddie ask for forgiveness and Beatrice grant him it. Like in

Black Tar Heroin Epidemic Analysis
One of the only foreseeable problems of truth is the representation of the heroin epidemic as just that
an epidemic. Many people see heroin abuse as a choice which it is, initially and a crime that should be
punished, not necessarily treated. Hopefully, conversations with law enforcement and medical
professionals can provide objective, expert opinions that will balance with firsthand accounts that the
audience can empathize with. This approach will seek to strike a balance between the personal and the

Black Tar Heroin (1999) is perhaps one of the best examples. Black Tar Heroin is an HBO piece that
focuses on the lives of five addicted young people and the poor decisions that arise as a result of their

overarching, underlying causes of the heroin problem in the same way that Mistakes on the Lake will
seek to. Mistakes on the Lake will be less of a slice of life piece, though it will emphasize that anyone
can get addicted to heroin. In 2016, the PBS documentary series Frontline produced a two hour

the root of the opioid problem. Mistakes on the Lake will focus more on the stories of individuals, and
it will center specifically around the Northern Ohio region. Chasing Heroin focuses on the big picture

it is still a relatively new issue. Most of the literature surrounding heroin does not focus on the source

of desirable positions and benefits that used to only be available for men. With the indisputable
progression of women in mind, it becomes challenging to comprehend how a film like She s Beautiful
When She s Angry can capitalize on its foundation of activism within the current societal climate.
Although there are still and may always be various opinions regarding women s rights, it is clear that,
since the Women s Rights Movement, women have been presented with countless opportunities that
they would not have been able to take advantage of approximately 50 years ago. As a result, a film
like She s Beautiful When She s Angry almost seems redundant, if not somewhat

a. How the World Wide Web works.... The World Wide Web is an organisation in which web resources
and other documents are identified by URLs as well as interlinked by hypertext documents and can be
amassed over the internet.
The World Wide Web works through the http protocol and the servers connected to the web attend
requests through the internet. The URL consists of protocol in which the server retrieves the indicated
document and creates a response which is sent back to the user.
b. The purpose of ISPs.... An ISP (internet service provider) is an institution and its purpose is to
provide assistance to individuals and groups that are accessing the internet. The more popular and

Mission Statement On Community And Community Service In...
I hope you are doing well. As one of the members of the youth, I would like to address a concern of
mine involving the youth group. Our church s mission statement is experience, equip, and severe. As a
whole, I feel that the youth group is lacking in the area of service. Not only is community service
important to our church, I also believe it is crucial to have our youth involved in community outreach
to promote emotional and spiritual growth. I believe our youth should participate in more community
outreach because it will counter selfish tendencies, allow the youth to feel helpful, and promote our
church s presence in our community.
Let s face the fact, in general, the youth today are very selfish and narcissistic. It s all about having the
coolest clothes, the newest iPhone, or how many likes and retweets they can get. It sometimes seems
as if caring for others has completely disappeared from their thought process. They have very much
embraced the selfie lifestyle. Along with selfishness and narcissism, the youth also seem to have
become somewhat ungrateful. Although some may say that this is how typical teenagers act, I think
over the past few years it has become more and more prevalent. Despite that fact, is it not our job as a
youth group to try to work against the negative stereotypes and better ourselves. To overcome and rise
above the low expectations we typically have. This is why I believe creating and promoting
community outreach opportunities is so important.

  • 2. What Is Apple Tv Persuasive Essay A few months ago, a new Apple TV box was released that seemed to show signs of an iOS style, home game console. While the rumors brewed, excitement increased but it s now looking like disappointment is inevitable. The strongest signs of this are coming by way of Disney Interactive. They ve dropped support for the Apple device, ending cooperation with them for the time being. DISNEY DROPS APPLE TV Struggles between Apple TV and Disney seem to be based about Disney Infinity 3.0, a program that was launched on Apple TV in November. Support was just dropped which means that no new features will be released from here on out. Instead, they will turn their attention from Apple and on to more traditional gaming platforms like Xbox and Playstation. For those gamers who have already made an investment in Infinity, that spells bad news. APPLE AMBITIONS DESTROYED Apple had some large ambitions for Disney Infinity. It was on of the most full featured games to launch with the hardware. It was supposed to be a deep and full gaming experience that rivaled other consoles in every way. Instead, the family friendly household brand just couldn t find a way to succeed on Apple TV. Introduction The power of positive thinking has been lauded for its ability to bring light and good feelings to bad situations since the beginning of man. Everyone who was able to harness the power of positive thought was able to bring new and innovative inventions to mankind because they didn t allow failures and negative experiences shape the way they viewed the toils of their work. In other words, people were able to see the glass as half full rather than half empty which brought about positive outcomes because they were able to see through all the negative aspects of their work or life. This brief discussion will talk about just that, the power of positive intelligence. I ll begin by defining positive intelligence and talking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Importance of Possessing a Positive Intelligence As we ve seen from the definition of positive intelligence, it seems as though the importance of mastering the concepts are self evident. We all want to perform at our best in whatever task we take on providing the greatest possible product or resource for our employer. We ve all worked with someone who has constantly portrayed a negative attitude and it never contributed to a highly effective workplace. John Maxwell is a motivational speaker and leadership expert has made a living off of getting people to think more positively through their daily tasks to produce high level results. In his Daily Reader book he provides an example of what positive thought and positive expectations can provide a person. He says that if a person gives themselves just 30 days of expecting the best of everything they will often receive the positive outcomes they perceive. He says a person will get out of their life everything they expect from it, god or bad (Maxwell, 2007). The power of positive intelligence can be profound on a personal and professional level and its importance should not be discredited. • 6. Alcohol Bottle Rocket Analysis This memo evaluates the quality of instructions to build an Alcohol Bottle Rocket, using terms, ideas, and concepts from our English book. I am evaluating instructions to build an Alcohol Bottle Rocket. Doing this I look at the things learned from reading pages 551 563, and comparing it to the Instruction Checklist on page 572. I am analyzing whether the instructions incorporate type of audience, purpose, subject, and an attractive design. I will also be looking at any precautions, item lists, the layout and that it is wrote in the imperative mood, or active voice. I assumed that business was the same in all countries. I assumed that every country had the same end goals when it came to business. As a result, I assumed that all countries followed a similar template for how business negotiations work. I was under the assumption that business was all about numbers and money; I didn t expect to see so much energy focused on creating relationships. Many advertisements feature celebrities in hopes of gaining consumers attention. Americans buy products they see celebrities using in hopes of becoming more like the famous people they see using the products. This is very different from advertising in China. In China, ads place a large focus on the facts. Product advertisements include the features and specifications of a product. • 8. The Characteristics Of Generational Differences In The... Jordan Clary Professor Debra Owens Human Resource Management 27 September 2017 Generational Differences in the Classroom Most people have a learning style that mirrors how they were taught when they were younger. It should be noted that there is not a one size fits all method when it comes to learning. The key to being able to appeal to each of the different generations is to offer diversity in teaching styles in order to satisfy the different preferences. As of now, there are four generations that are in the workforce and those four generations are: The Silent Generation, Baby Boomers, Generation X, and the Millennials. This paper will examine the characteristics of these four generations, how their learning styles differ, and what to provide to each group in order for their learning experience to be most rewarding. The Silent Generation was born between the mid 1920 s to early 1940 s. The silent generation was born in the middle of the Great Depression, and saw their parents struggle with finance issues (Levonius, 2015). This generation learned to value the money that they had and tended to save more than spend. This generation was raised in the midst of the World War, therefore this generation preferred to keep their heads down and stay silent while working hard to achieve slow progress (Levonius, 2015). In the classroom, members of this generation prefer to be in the background and not the center of attention. They are a group that respects authority, does what is asked of them and does not quit the job until complete. This generation grew up in a teacher centric educational system, meaning that children should be seen and not heard. While they were in school if they spoke out of turn there was usually some sort of punishment. The silent generation has a learning style that is based on the classic classroom structure, and what that means is they prefer to sit in front of an instructor and listen to the lecture. They like for learning to be taught in a linear format with feedback that is clear (Levonius, 2015). It is common that this generation has decided to return to school simply for the fact that they want to keep their minds sharp, after retirement. It is important for these adult students to ... • 11. Songs That Have Stood the Test of Time and Geography Part 1 Background and Identification There are quite a number of songs that have stood the test of time and geography to remain as vital and popular today as they were when first composed. Perhaps it is because some of these songs simply transcend time and place and appeal to the core of human emotion. Who cannot feel a thrill of excitement and humanity at the finale of Beethoven s 9th Symphony, or shed a tear at a favorite Christmas carol? One song that fits this transcendence is La Vie En Rose, literally, Life in Pink. This was first made popular in 1946 by French torch singer Edith Piaf. Translated from the French idiom, the piece means seeing life through rose colored glasses, rather perfect for Piaff s life and vocal talent, and even more perfect for a world turned upside down because of World War II. At first, Piaf s colleagues and team did not think the song would be at all successful, yet it became a favorite with audiences around the world, and Piaf s signature song (Bret, 2009). The song quickly became so popular it was translated into several languages, and then the greatest compliment of all imitated by singers in many different genres. Ironic since the words were almost hastily scribbled on a cocktail napkin while Piaf was drinking with her friend Marianne Michel at a cafà on the Champs Elysees (Burke, 2011, p. 118). I do not know many Level 5 leaders personally, but one I could classify as one would be my lead at Ryder Logistics. Even though he was not a supervisor or a logistics manager, he does have the characteristics of a Level 5 manager. Personal humility includes a leader who is never boastful, acts with determination, relies on group success rather than being selfish and taking all the credit, never blame other people for his mistakes or the customer, and looks for ways to improve (Curtis Manning, 2015). My lead never boasted about his success . For example, when he received an interview offer for the transportation supervisor or even when the assistant general manager approached him with the offer of a supervisor, possible logistics manager position within the warehouse, he never went around boasting about his success. • 17. Small Round Lenses Research Paper There is a trick that makes high prescription lenses for nearsighted vision thinner. You can use it to minimize the lens thickness of even low index lens materials such as standard CR 39 plastic. The trick is buying small round lenses. The lens curvature of a minus prescription (for nearsightedness) is concave. That is, the lens is thin at the center and gradually thickens until you reach the edge where it s thickest. If you made the lens thin at the edge, it would be too thin at the center, which would make the lens too fragile. Therefore, these lenses have an absolute minimum thickness at the center to ensure its strength. This means that large lenses with a high minus prescription can have very thick edges. The lower the lens material ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... High index lenses are compatible with a huge number of frame styles, which allows you to wear glasses you feel good about. A large selection is necessary to find a frame style that works best with the shape of your face. Not all styles are compatible with all types of faces. This is also true of frames made for small round lenses. Small round lenses may work for people with angular features because they soften their appearance. They also work for oval faces because any lens shape works for this type of face. However, these lenses can make people with round faces look cartoonish, and can look out of place on people with square faces. The first assigned reading, Errorless Teaching and the Use of Transfer Procedures, established that the difference between a great Applied Behavior Analysis program and a mediocre program is often in the details of correct prompting procedures. It s important when teaching a child with autism or any developmental delay that you not only know the science of ABA and the conceptual analysis of VB, but also that you can deliver accurate and appropriate therapy. Prompts are the little nudges or hints that will increase the likelihood of a correct response from your child. The bases of prompting include the several difference types of prompts, and a hierarchy to identify how invasive the prompt is. For a child to be successful is better to use the least intrusive prompt, such as physical prompt (partial physical prompt), gestural prompts (model or imitative prompt/partial imitative prompt), and other prompts (visual and textual prompts). Also this reading pointed out how too many antecedents and a non invasive prompt cause the child to not complete the task that he is being asked to do and in to reinforced the child s non compliance, such as the example of Lucas and his dad with the control remote after Lucas has shortly begun his ABA therapy. When giving an instruction it s best to give only one antecedent, expect only one behavior, and delivery only one consequence. Giving too much ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Jumping back into the beat up pick up truck, I follow the increasingly loud beeping of the radio telemetry set until I spot the pack just fifty yards in front of me. Quietly, I climb out of the vehicle, and momentarily stare in awe at the small pack of gray wolves I have been tracking for hours in the wilderness of Montana. My field pants are speckled with briars and a few stray leaves cling to my backpack and one even dangles at the end of my braided hair. In considering the process of change in the relationship between Ireland and Great Britain between 1801 and 1921, how far can the 1886 Home Rule Bill be seen as a key turning point? In 1815 Ireland was part of the union though by 1921 it was partitioned. The years in between saw group and individual efforts in trying to change the relationship between Ireland and Great Britain. Parnell s campaign for Home Rule is seen as a key turning point that potentially was the most important kick starting change within the union. 1886 was undoubtedly a turning point as it gave hope for both a just and feasible solution to the problem of the Irish government . When O Connell won the Country Clare election in 1828 it seemed impossible for there to be no change of the rules within parliament. The Roman Catholic Emancipation Act was passed in 1829 due overall support in the House of Commons and it could be said that this led to positive change for Irish Nationalism. Many opportunities were sprung open by this act, especially for the middle class, in political and professional jobs in particular. Also, O Connell teamed up with the Whigs and managed to pass a number of acts such as the Irish Church Act, which could also have been seen to help. O Connell s success also seemed to forge a link between Irish nationalism and Catholicism. All of these things seem to suggest that 1829 was a turning point for Irish nationalism. However O Connell s hopes that emancipation would lead to repeal did not materialise. The Act has succeeded in its intention to keep the union intact. The middle class gained most from it and became content. They did not support the repeal campaign, and was a reason for its failure and furthermore, there was no support in parliament for repeal of the union. There has at least been serious consideration of change in the union in 1886. By the end of the repeal campaign O Connell was receiving criticism from more extreme groups such as Young Ireland. Crime And Punishment During The Prohibition Era Research Essay Creating a legal age to cease the criminal behavior during the prohibition era would create a solution because it s no longer illegal for people to sell or consume alcohol and organized crime rates within gangsters would decrease. Prohibition began once the 18th amendment was passed, this banned the manufacturing, selling, consumption, and transportation of alcohol. Alcohol was seen as the devil s advocate so the government thought prohibition would help decrease violence and improve the lives of so many Americans. During prohibition crime rates raised tremendously, people didn t care that drinking or selling alcohol was illegal, they continued to drink anyways, opening up saloons, speakeasies and illegal bars. The Emerald City Trans Social Club is an all inclusive social and educational group for transgender people living in the Seattle area. I learned that transgender is an umbrella term for anyone who is a cross dresser and that for many people being trans is like a part time job. For one of the guests, Alyssa, being Alyssa is her second life. Meaning that she may dress as Alyssa for social events and outings. On the other hand, Debra is a woman full time. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Being transgender greatly involves identity, naïve realism, ethnocentrism, and relativism. This relates to ethnocentrism because one who is not transgender or doesn t have a clear understanding may feel as though it isn t necessary. I define ethnocentrism as the belief that one s own behavior and beliefs are superior to others. In many cases, some people have even acted upon their sense of ethnocentrism committing hate crimes, homicide, or even murder. This is a reflection of their belief that they are superior. This also is a reflection of how societies enforce this concept of gender and feel threated when someone breaks the boundary. As one of my classmates said, looking at gender from a religious aspect, God is a sort of genderless being and when one is struggling with gender identity or transgender, it may appear as though they are making a statement. One that is telling everyone else that they are on the same level as God. Naïve realism relates to what the guest speakers discussed because they explained that there are a lot of people who tend to kind of stop and stare at them simply because they look different; they are foreign to them. To those who don t understand being transgender, they may not understand how someone could such an identity crisis, as the feeling cannot be perceived by one who has not endured it. I found this to especially relate to identity because among age, language, and various other things, gender is one of the primary characteristics used to define self. If someone is experiencing an identity crisis, to whatever extent, that s related to gender it directly correlates with the concept of identity we ve been learning about in class. • 38. Overfishing And Its Effects On The Ocean Overfishing Leads to a Worldwide Oceanic Ecological Collapse People often take the ocean for granted due to its vastness since it makes up over seventy percent of the Earth, however the integrity of the ocean is deteriorating. One of the major, worldwide threats to the wellbeing of the ocean and its inhabitants is overfishing. Overfishing affects not only the ocean, but also the land dwellers. Many countries around the world depend on fish as their main source of food. Tons of fish are caught out of the sea daily, however, the rate that fish are being hauled is far too high where fish stocks are incapable of naturally recovering. There is a decline in population size of affected fish and some species have even faced extinction. Overfishing is the leading cause of ecological extinction, foregoing any other human disruptions to marine ecosystems, such as pollution, water degradation, and climate change (Jackson, et al). Overfishing causes an overwhelming devastation upon the oceans because it depletes food resources, disrupts the food web, and destroys habitats of aquatic organisms, due to this, overfishing causes an oceanic ecological collapse worldwide. Overfishing is not a problem that has recently arise, but a problem that started since the early 1800s. Miller understands, and therefore uses many different techniques to create a sense of tragedy in most of his plays including a View from the Bridge. The playwright uses both dialogue and stage directions to get across feelings of sadness and empathy from the reader, despite the morally corrupt theme. The play begins with a full page of stage directions. The setting is warm and homely, and the viewer understands that the residents are not rich, as they live in a block of flats. This quote suggests that Beatrice knows that Eddie s feelings are straying elsewhere. She also mentions that it s been three months .
