Animal behaviour is any activity performed by an animal in response to an internal or external stimuli or combination of both. Every behaviour of animal is more or less controlled by a genetical component. Some behaviours are controlled by a single or a few genes. Other behaviours are controlled by a set of genes through complex interplay.

Introduction to developmental psychology UneezaRajpoot
Development from infancy, through childhood and adolescence follows a predictable pattern.
Specifics of development may vary (economic deprivation, war torn territories, refugees etc.)
The prime focus of developmental psychologists is to study the genetic background, consider our environmental factors and how their interplay affects human growth and interaction
Developmental psychology is the study of how humans grow, change and adapt across the course of their lives.
Developmental psychologists study human growth and development over the lifespan, including physical, cognitive, social, intellectual, perceptual, personality and emotional growth. (APA Dictionary)
Scope of developmental psychology is broad, however, developmental psychologists, primarily work in these 4 broad domains
i)Physical Development
ii) Cognitive Development
iii)Personality Development
iv) Social Development

This is an in-house PD workshop I do about how to receive, assess, and return student work electronically. This slideshow is presented in the first session and goes over the benefits electronic assessment has for both students and teachers. It then presents the processes involved in assessing work completed using MS Office 2007.
The second session of the PD (not covered in the slideshow) goes over using Google Docs and Wikis as a means for receiving student work and the assessment of it.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
This slide is special for master students (MIBS & MIFB) in UUM. Also useful for readers who are interested in the topic of contemporary Islamic banking.
7. To what extent does genetic
inheritance influence behavior?
Schizophrenia Intelligence Homosexuality
Editor's Notes
some psychologists might look at a schizophrenic’s early childhood experiences in order to explain their illness, a bio-psychologist might look at genetic factors or physiological factors (for example the presence of certain chemicals in the brain.
Darwin’s theory of evolution, suggests that all living things (including humans) have evolved from the simpler forms of life that preceded them, through the processes of sexual reproduction and natural selection or “survival of the fittest’’.
When two animals reproduce sexually their offspring acquires 50% of its genes from the mother, and 50% from the father. Genes are the individual units of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) which pass on specific characteristics (for example, brown eyes, curly hair etc.) from parents to their offspring. When the genes from the male and the female parents combine together at the moment of conception they do so in an essentially random way, which means that the offspring will have a unique set of genes.
This means that the offspring will possess characteristics which are different from those of the parents. Some of these characteristics may be helpful to its survival in the environment in which it finds itself. Some psychologists believe that as well as influencing biological characteristics, inherited genes may also affect human psychological characteristics. For example, it has been suggested that human intelligence is genetically determined, as is the mental disorder known as schizophrenia.
One way to investigate these claims is through twin studies. Identical twins (technically known as monozygotic or MZ twins) develop from the same fertilised egg, which splits at conception to produce two individuals with the same genetic make-up.
Fraternal (or dizygotic or DZ) twins develop from two separately fertilised eggs and are not genetically identical. Therefore if characteristics like intelligence or schizophrenia were genetically determined, then one would expect to find that MZ twins were more similar regarding these characteristics than DZ twins.
