This document discusses lessons that can be learned from the behavior of geese flying in formation. It explains that geese fly in a V-shape formation to increase efficiency, with each goose lifting the ones behind it. When a goose begins to fall out of formation from exhaustion, another takes its place at the front. If a goose is injured, two others will stay with it for protection until it can fly again or dies. The document suggests these behaviors demonstrate collaboration, organization, sharing of responsibilities, encouragement to stay together, and unity in supporting each other.

The team work at the workplace is like the flight of geese. Teamwork keeps employees going from one activity to the other. When low in spirit we get encouraged and keeps on moving. when sick at the workplace they come to wish us quick recovery just like geese do

What is Mindful Agile Leadership? It’s the perfect balance of 3 essential elements: Agile Mindset; Mindfulness and Servant Leadership.
These 3 pillars of mindful agile leadership are equally important. Just like the legs of a stool, they provide a stable base encompassing the qualities of all 3 elements. This enables leaders to build a truly agile culture and positive team environment and be a more effective and authentic agile leader.

Sensing the Properties of Bubbles and Liquids with Acoustics - Microbubble Ac...Steven Spencer
This invited talk was presented by Dr Steven Spencer at the Emerging Sensing Technology Summit (ESTS 2016), December 7-9, 2016, Melbourne, Australia. Dr Spencer was a Principal Research Scientist at CSIRO Australia at the time this presentation was delivered. He is currently an independent innovator, data scientist and researcher.
Contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS), based on the strong echogenicity of microbubbles, is commonly used for clinical medical imaging. Targeted delivery of therapeutics loaded on microbubbles is currently under vigorous investigation. Ultrasonic or acoustic response can be used to monitor bubble equilibrium size, mass loading and surface layer properties; and liquid medium properties such as viscosity and local pressure. This could lead to new and powerful medical and industrial sensing modalities.
A method of acoustic resonance interference spectroscopy (ARIS) has been developed to monitor bubble and liquid medium properties. It is based on the resonant response of a bubble to acoustic excitation and the interference between the source (reference) and bubble response acoustic pressure fields. Unique analytical expressions are presented for system properties such as bubble equilibrium size, surface mass loading and liquid medium viscosity in terms of the frequencies of these acoustic features.
Theoretical ARIS signatures are shown for several types of commercially available ultrasound contrast agent (UCA) used in CEUS. The sensitivity of the method to microbubble equilibrium size, attached mass loading and viscosity of the liquid medium are demonstrated. ARIS simulations suggest lipid attached mass as small as an order of a picogram may be detectable on a micron radius microbubble. Results from ARIS monitoring experiments with streams of unencapsulated air bubbles in water are also discussed.
The potential for the ARIS signature of medical microbubbles to estimate the rheological properties of biological liquids is explored. The sensitivity of the ARIS method for detection of the progressive detachment of therapeutic agents or attachment of analyte species to microbubbles is also discussed.

This presentation was used, at many places, to drive home the point that we, the human beings, have certain lessons to learn from the birds' habitual "V" formation, which they adopt while flying together in the sky. This borrowed presentation is adopted to suit the occasion.
Short PowerPoint I put together which I use in the first tutorial of the semester when students are to form groups/team for assessment and tutorial purposes.

10 Ways to Overcome Our Daily Struggles, A Guide For Christian WomenBrenda Silveira
Life is hard and many of us focus on our problems instead of trying to find solutions. Women especially struggle because the world puts high expectations on us and tries to make us believe the lie that we aren't good enough and our problems define who we are. When we put our focus on God and allow Him to help us, we can overcome our struggles and find peace despite our circumstances.

COMPLICATIONS AND CHAOS.
SO WHY IS IT THAT GEESE ARE
SO SMART?
Editor's Notes
This presentation is about how Geese can teach us some valuable life lessons.
It will help you learn how important teamwork can be.
What does the word Teamwork mean to you? (A cooperative effort by a group or team, Work produced by a group or team)
Teamwork is important in all facets of life. We have teams at work, in school, in the community. When teams work together for a common goal, they usually result in success. What would be the traits of a great team?
Different skills
Value each other’s opinion
Respect each other’s differences
Supporting each other
Listen to each other
Open-minded
Willing to risk making mistakes
Able to work through conflicts
Not giving up
Being accountable to each other
Willing to share information
We are now going to start on an activity that will help show the results of good and bad teamwork. Part 1…….
Collaboration – what does this word mean?
The word collaboration means working together with 1 or more people in order to achieve something.
Other words that mean the same thing are teamwork, partnership, association, alliance, relationship, cooperation or group effort.
Question – Why do geese fly in a V formation?
Answer – when geese fly together, it increases the reach of their flight by 71% compared to only 1 bird flying.
What lesson can we learn from collaboration?
What does the word organization mean?
The word organization means to coordinate or arrange something into a structured group.
Question – What happens when a goose starts drifting in another direction away from the flock?
Answer – The goose will feel air resistance and will have difficulty in flying alone.
This will remind the goose that it should get back into the formation so it can take advantage of the lifting power from the other geese in front.
What lesson can we learn from Organization?
Organization creates harmony. The task will not be so difficult and it will be easier to reach the goals.
If we have as much sense as a goose, we will stay in formation with those who are headed the same way we are.
Start activity part 3………..
Sharing – what does this word mean?
Sharing means to have something in common and to take responsibility together.
Question – When the lead goose gets tired, what happens to the flock?
Answer
The lead goose goes to the end of the formation and another one takes on as lead.
In this way, all the work and problems are shared.
The geese can unite their abilities, resources and capacities.
What lesson can we learn from Sharing?
Sharing teaches us how to create an effective team and respect others.
It shows us that the workload is not so heavy when working as a team and it allows us to take turn doing different jobs.
Start activity part 4………….
Encouragement – what does this word mean?
Encouragement means to give hope, confidence and urge to do something.
Question – why do geese squawk when flying in formation?
They squawk or honk to give encouragement and to provide assistance to those in front so they are able to maintain their speed.
What lesson can we learn from Encouragement?
Encouragement helps us make greater progress.
Actions and sounds or words will motivate and promote the best outcome.
Start activity part 5………..
Unity – what does this word mean?
Unity means to combine or bring together.
Question – what happens if a goose becomes ill, is hurt or tired?
The goose will leave the formation and go to the ground.
Two other geese will follow it down to lend help and protection.
They will stay with the goose until it is well enough to fly, or until it dies.
The geese will then rejoin their flock or find another formation to fly with.
What lesson can we learn from Unity?
Unity provides support during any situation.
It helps overcome stress and adds value to friendships.
If we have the sense of a goose, we will stand by each other as a good friend should do.
Complete activity.
When life is simple, the flight of the years is more pleasant.
People are supposed to be smart, yet our lives are filled with complications and chaos.
So why is it that geese are so smart?
Now we are going to do an activity on teamwork.
