I think Gladwell s purpose for writing The Trouble with Geniuses, is to open our
minds to a topic that a lot of us have a major misconception about. Gladwell
presents his ideas with great examples throughout chapters 3 and 4 of the outliers.
His topic is about success and how it is obtained. He talks about a scientist by the
name of Turmin who did an experiment and selected a group of geniuses and watched
their progress and downfalls throughout their lives.
Turmin did not get the results he expected he thought they would be exceptionally
successful in winning the Nobel prize or coming up with major inventions. But that
was not the case, yes some of them did well but then again some of them did not. So
Gladwell brings this experiment to show us that our idea about the connection
between geniuses and success is incorrect, that they are not automatically going to be
successful because there are other factors that either help or prevent geniuses from

In my opinion, Gladwell s target audience is all genders from the age group of teens
up till young adults. This book and these chapters specifically are great for those who

considered poetry. A solo artist known for the group Frou Frou and her song Hide
and Seek , meet my favorite author, Imogen Jennifer Heap. Born December 9, 1977

Imogen defied the unwritten rule of solo acts by instead of making a name for
herself in a group then leaving to do their own thing, Imogen did the opposite. She
was born in the rural part of Essex to a businessman and a future art therapist. 12
years after Imogen was born, her parents divorced. At the young age of 13, Heap
could already play piano, cello, and clarinet. She attended the Quaker Friends
School and there she self taught herself how to produce music on Atari computers

I can draw about the features of the work is that Beowulf a New Telling by Robert
Nye is a thrilling tale about Beowulfwho is trying to rid the land of the Danes and
the land of the Geats of evil. There were also many relationships between light and
darkness (good and evil) in people but the main one was in Beowulf. For example,
in chapter 6 on page 40, Beowulf has elements of lightness when he says, light

paragraphs and strong verbs. However they fail to accomplish short sentences for
example, in the article 71 Shot, 12 Killed at Aurora Movie Theatre the first
paragraph is only one sentence that has a total of 45 words. This is all one
sentence, and one paragraph. The articles do not stay concise however because the
information is repeated over and over again multiple times throughout the article.
The two articles do remain objective however. The stories are filled with facts and
no opinions as well as no biased words or phrases. The articles stay on topic of
informing the reader about the events of the night and give quotes from both victims,

Lonely Page 13,14,15 it states Winnie Foster sat on the bristly grass just inside the
fence and said to the large toad who was squatting a few yards away across the
road, I will, though. You ll see. Also on page 14 it also states, She made a game of
it anyway, tossing pebbles at such an angle that they passed through the gnat cloud
on their way to the toad. On page 15 it also states why Winnie foster is lonely
because she is telling the toad why should you have to be cooped up in a cage, too?
She is basically saying why do u have to be locked up to and have no freedom. And
on page 13 I picked that certain detail of why she was lonely because it states she is
outside sitting on the grass and inside a fence and she is talking to a toad this
shows she is lonely because she had nothing to do and she is talking to a toad

showed Winnie being lonely because she made a game of tossing pebbles at such an

happiness. The American dream shouldn t be measured by how much money a
person has, but should lay within a person s own dream. Whether their dream is in
becoming the president or having a chance to smell fries everyday. And just

Analysis Of The Fault In Our Stars
Only a fool would believe that cancer patients have it easy in life. That same fool
would also believe that adolescence is not challenging. Contrarily, both are difficult
circumstances and when combined it would be an unfortunate situation. John Green s
novel The Fault in Our Stars paints the life of Hazel Grace Lancaster, Augustus
Waters and many other teenage cancer patients tackling big themes of self awareness.
The movie adaptation of The Fault in Our Stars is an inaccurate representation of the
novelbecause it does not portray the major themes of self awareness shown through
the characters. The filmfails to accurately portray the themes of isolation, identity and
morality.
Firstly, the theme of isolation is absent throughout the film. To begin, the film does
not demonstrate the physical isolation Hazel and Augustus. For example, during the
films Amsterdam scenes they do not come across cyclists, rollerbladers and joggers
that make them feel separated from everyone. However in the novel, Hazel and
Augustus feel isolated from everyone in Amsterdam because they cannot enjoy the
city to it s fullest due to their medical setbacks; Before us, hundreds of people
passed, jogging and biking and Rollerblading. Amsterdam was a city designed for

Hall is trying to express is that once a person has a child, their lives are changed
