The Disney Princesses
Some figures that have been very important and influential to young children for a long time are
the Disney Princesses. There are many features about these characters that make them so loved
however after careful analysis is becomes obvious that these are not the kinds of characters
children should be idolizing. Many young girls spend a large amount of their life wanting to be
a princess but Disney s portrayal of princesses makes this not seem so desirable. A princess
according to Disney is a young, virgin, beautiful girl who has a single parent and an unnaturally
skinny body. She falls in love very quickly and her only goal in life is to get married (Daedaluss,
C.). There are nine Disney Princesses that were released between the years of 1937 and 2009.
According to a study done by England D., Descartes L. and Collier Meek M. (567) all of the
Disney Princess movies portray women as having very stereotypical representation of gender.
Over time Disney s portrayal of the princesses have changed but overall there is not a lot of
improvement in regards to the portrayal of gender stereotypes (England, Descartes Collier Meek ,
568). These stereotypes have given young girls misunderstandings about how a woman should
look and behave. The first Disney princess was Snow White from Snow White and the Seven
dwarves released in 1937. Snow White portrays the image as young, innocent and pure. She only
lives with her evil stepmother and her loves doing housework (Daedaluss). She is not

Gordie Howe In Hockey
Hockey has many aspects to the game including how it came about as national sport in the world
today and creating one of the greatest hockey players Gordie Howe who played for the Detroit Red
Wings. Gordie Howe grew up in a small town that goes by Saskatoon where he learned to play
hockey. Howe spent most of his winters on any ice surface he could get his skates on. Howe
loved to play hockey even though his family was challenged on the wealth side of things. He got
his first pair of skates from a neighbor, the skates were far too big so he put on multiple pairs of
socks so they would fit and so he could skate. Eventually he grew out of his skates and he had to
strap blades to his everyday shoes. Howe developed a health threatening calcium deficiency... Show

Gordie Howe managed to play a solid 25 seasons with the Detroit Red Wings. He won the Red
Wings to 4 Stanley Cups, and even Grezinsky Idolized him. Howe played 32 seasons of hockey a
majority of them with the Red Wings. He played Right Wing by scoring in all kinds of different
maneuvers . He handled the puck very well by setting up his teammates by giving precise passes
and sniping the corners. Gordie Howe had hat tricks here and there from season to season, but
Howe did however create a new hat trick called the Gordie Howe hat trick which is one fight,
one goal, and a assist. During the time that Howe played helmets were not required so he
received numerous injuries, including 500 stitches in the face. But Howe kept living his dream.
Howe teamed up with Sid Abel and Ted Lindsay to become the Red Wings production line. The
Wings dominated the league in the 1950s. The players on the production line could be
blindfolded and they still could know where the other player is on the ice. Howe was eventually 1st
or 2nd NHL team 21 times. He helped the Red Wings win the Stanley cup in 1950, 52 , 54 ,and 55 .
Even Grezinsky recognized how good he was, then again Grezinsky was only a kid. After playing
with the Red Wings for so long he had ended his hockey career, but later he played with his sons

A Single Financial Reporting Standard With Full Universal...
Establishment of a single financial reporting standard with full universal acceptance is unattainable
on various levels. Due to the prevailing economic, political, and cultural environments, it is
unconvincing and irrational to have a uniform set of global financial reporting standards. There are
controversies regarding the different types of economic systems used worldwide, centralizing the
major difference in the systems to be the governmental role and influence on market activity. For
there to be a proper measure in comparability in financial statementsthere is an intrinsic need for a
correlated set of economic activities along with an equivalent accounting system. If the US were to
adopt IFRS there is a questionable level to the amount of comparison we can recognize for nations
under different economic systems. Applying this even further, accounting under a new universal
regulation will have economic consequences; changes to regulation will inevitably lead to changes
to a nation s economy. With that said, IFRS is currently not compatible with US corporate
governance.
Countries, including the US, that decide to converge with IFRS yet function under different
economic and political environments will inherently implement the universal standard to fit their
institutional infrastructures diminishing comparability between nations (Hail). There are
significant differences in the foundation of US GAAP and IFRS, specifically IFRS s principles
based accounting and US GAAP s

An Unethical Dilemma Of A Dentist
After looking at various articles on the Dentaltown website, I came across an interesting article
that showed an unethical dilemma. In this article, a dentist (lower priced dentist) is talking about
an 83 year old patient that came into his office for a second opinion. The lower priced dentist
mentions that the woman needed some basic dental work done to her teeth to keep them healthy.
While (deleted comma) the woman was at her general dentist, the dentist was attempting to force
the woman to get a more expensive cosmetic work done. Her general dentist provided her with an
expensive treatment plan for approximately $14,700. Upon hearing the cost, the patient went for a
second opinion from another dentist in town. After looking at her x rays, she was given another
inexpensive treatment option using composite now and later putting in crowns if needed. The
patient got her work done with the inexpensive treatment and goes back to her regular dentist for a
routine check up. She told her regular dentist about the bonding work done instead of the crowns.
At hearing this, he replied that he could have done that for her as well. I believe this was unethical
for a variety of reasons. First reason is that her general dentist attempted to force the woman to get
cosmetic dental work done instead of just focusing on keeping her teeth healthy. Second reason, is
after talking the patient into getting cosmetic work done he tried to over charge her for the
treatment. Third, the dentist

Lao Tzu, Aristotle, And Confucius
What is the most important thing to humans? Happiness? Power? Family? What about words or
innocence? Depending on who you ask, the answer will differ no matter what; that is because
there is no clear definition of what is important for people. Each person must define importance
for themselves. However, that doesn t stop philosophers from inquiring to find the answer, and the
results are exactly as expected there is no consensus. This essay will look to three of the most well
known philosophers in the world, Lao Tzu, Aristotle, and Confucius, and compare their individual
ideals to reach a consensus as to what is important in life. While there are similarities and
differences with all their texts, Confucius ideas align more closely with Aristotle... Show more

The former intellects are in support of words and the names of things; Confucius even spends time
in The Analects stressing the importance of naming things correctly, If names are not rectified, then
speech will not function properly, and if speech does not function properly, then undertakings will
not succeed (The Analects, 13.3). Aristotle agrees with this sentiment stating, But those who
regulate their desires and actions by a rational principle will greatly benefit from a knowledge of
this subject [ethics] (Ethics I.3, 1095a10 12). Here his word for rational principle is logos, which
based footnotes of the translator Martin Ostwald, logos fundamental meaning is speech/statements.
Both philosophers place a significant importance on names not just for education purposes, but for
the functionality of man as a whole. Lao Tzu, on the contrary, does not contend that names serve
any importance in society. Names have no lasting name, here he claims that the origin of heaven
and earth is nameless, therefore to be nameless is godliness (Tao Te Ching, 1). Lao Tzu even
places his own importance on the weight of his lack of words and understanding, Few understand
me, and that is my value (Tao Te Ching, 70). Given that names are the foundation of speech and
thereby communication and everything humans have ever created as a whole

Birth Defects and the Millennum Development Goals Essay
Birth defects is a critical issue and this is reflected through the intersectionality of birth defects and
several of the Millennium Development goals. Birth defects is related to goals 4,5 and 6 which are
infant mortality, improving maternal health and environmental health. All of these goals are
interrelated of preventing and improving birth outcomes. The web of connections birth defects has
with the millennium development emphasize the importance of handling this issue.
Birth defects affects different nations across different severities. To understand the causes of birth

In many cases, two or more environmental factors may be interrelated or synergistic (Al Hadithi ,
Shabila, Saleh Al Diwan , 2012). Although the cause of most birth defects are unknown, certain
genetic and environmental factors increase the chance of birth defects developing. These factors
include exposure to radiation, certain drugs, alcohol, isotretinoin, accutane, nutritional deficiencies,
certain infections in the mother, injuries, and hereditary disorders. While some risks are avoidable
others occur no matter how strictly a pregnant woman adheres to healthful living practices.
Environmental substances that can cause birth defects are called teratogens. A teratogen is any
substance that can cause or increase the chance of a birth defect. Examples include radiation
(including x rays), certain drugs, and toxins (including alcohol). Most pregnant women who are
exposed to teratogens have newborns withabnormalities. Whether or not a birth defect occurs
depends on when, how much, and how long the pregnant woman was exposed to the teratogen.
For example, exposure to a teratogen during the time that certain parts of the brain are developing
is more likely to cause a defect in those areas than exposure before or after this critical period.

Compare And Contrast The Pantheon In Athens And The Parthenon
Two Ancient Monuments
Two of the ancient world s best examples of architecture, which still exist today, are the Pantheon in
Athens, and the Parthenon in Rome. Both of these monuments are more than just classical temples,
they are symbols of the great civilizations of the past which constructed them. Achievements which
have stood the test of time, despite the fact they have been stripped of their former glory.
First of all let s consider the older of the two, the Parthenon. The Parthenon stands on the top of the
Acropolis, a rocky outcrop in the center of Athens, Greece. Work began on the temple complex
shortly after the war with Persia ended, from 447 to 432 BCE. The funds to finance the building
of this grand monument came from the surplus of the war treasury of the Delian League, an
alliance of city states created for the sake of defence against the Persians. The Acropolis had
suffered greatly in the war when the Persians invaded Athens in 480 BCE, looting and destroying
the temples. Yet the building of the Parthenon was more than just a restoration of lost temples, it
was a statement, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The largest dome ever made when constructed, it is still considered the largest unreinforced
concrete structure of its kind. The dome of the Pantheon is what makes this building so unique.
The rotunda measures 43.3 meters in diameter, which is the exact height from the floor to the
oculus, open skylight, which means it is a perfect hemisphere. A 43.3 meter diameter sphere would
fit perfectly under the dome. The dome is made of pumice mixed with concrete, a process which
was lost with the fall of the Roman Empire and only now starting to be understood. The thickness
of the dome tapers from 6.4 meters at the base to 1.2 meters around the oculus. The weight of the
dome was reduced by forming five rings of 28 coffers, recessed panels, into the interior

Timmermans
Timmermans: Evidence based medicine and the reconfiguration of medical knowledge.
EBM or evidence based medicine is a form of protocols used to standardize diagnoses and
treatment plans. In this journal we learn details about the four medical professionalization theories
and we also learn what Timmermans believes to be the downfalls of those theories. The effects of
EBM on the medical profession are stated as being the fact that medicine shifts from
pathophysiology to epidemiology with guidelines, these guidelines seem to interfere with the
autonomy of the practitioner. There are three questions that the journal is interested in evaluating.
The first question has to do with whether the epistemological characteristics of medicine are more
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the major downfalls of EBM according to Upshur are the time constraints that
depersonalize the doctor patient interactions by forcing the doctor ask a barrage of questions
which are necessary to follow protocol; this takes away from the potential of the clinician to
practice active listening since there is a limit on the time allotted per patient interaction. Another
limitation is that the clinical trials on which EBM are based on have specific patent characteristics,
most of which do not have multiple illnesses in order to eliminate confounding variables. These
patients are very different than the real world patients that have multiple illnesses and are taking
various medications. In addition, there are very few clinical trials that include the elderly
population since the trials usually want otherwise healthy people with a single diagnosis. Another
problem relating to the randomized control trials is that they still do not tell you exactly what will
work for your patient but rather what may work, this is seen as having little difference between
how the practitioner can diagnose a patent. In all this article argues that the limited access to
technologies and the standardized patient presentations used for the clinical trials actually impedes
the ability of the EBM to be effective for all

The FLQ manifesto is a political manifesto that sought to promote Quebecoi independence and the
rejection of Liberal party policy, which focused primarily on big business and private investment.
Released in what was one of Canada s most politically turbulent period, the document provides key
insights into the FLQ organization demands and to the broader discussion taking place in Quebec
society. The document was produced by the front de liberation du Quebec, a left wing organization
that advocated for separatist policies beginning in the early 1960 s. Politically energized in the

Effects Of The Crusades On Western Civilizations
Stephanie Alfonso
April 27,2016
Humanities
Consequences of the Crusades The crusades were a series of religious wars that though they took
place centuries ago, they are still often discussed today. The crusades were a religious war
between the Christian and Muslim states that lasted years. The Byzantine Empire, which had
thrived spread over the coastal areas of the Mediterranean...now found itself increasingly
challenged by the navies and pirates of Isla. The contest between these two sides were to generate
seeds of the first Crusade (Paine 8 9). Some claim that the Crusades offered nothing but a negative
impact to western civilization, however, that may not be the case. On the contrary, the Crusades
provided a positive short term and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This also cause the split between the Eastern and Western orthodox churches to deepen. Some
believe that one of the wars was based on some wanting to impose the authority of the Roman
church to the east, though this assumption has never been proven. The great schism divided
Christendom into Eastern orthodox churches and Roman catholic churches. The tension between
the split of these two types of churches was heightened then heightened by the pope and patriarch
by not allowing the Greek and Latin languages in their churches. Both the Byzantine Orthodox
church and the Roman catholic church attempted to wipe out divergent practices and beliefs...
(Paine 12). There was also tension over which church held more authority. The crusades however
did not only have short term consequences, these wars also had a large long term consequences on
development of western civilization. Including long term economic benefits, advancements in
technology, and a growth in urban culture. One of the long term affects the crusades had on
western civilization is the economic benefits. As discussed in one of the previous paragraphs,
western Europe benefited economically of the crusades because of trade. This benefits the
development of western civilization because it opened the opportunity to have long distance trade.
Many of these trades were able to happen because of this accessibility to the Mediterranean
allowing them to trade with the far east. Allowing

Sterilization Laws Of The United States
Sterilization legislature was enacted on the state level with the goal of physically preventing the
procreation of individuals deemed to be unfit, mainly handicapped persons or criminals. Though the
nature of these laws did not outright target certain races or social classes, a disproportionate amount
of the individuals sterilized were non white or of immigrant background. Prominent eugenicists and
eugenic organizations in the U.S. played a key role in lobbying for state sterilization laws. Harry H.
Laughlin, superintendent of the EugenicsRecord Office, drafted the American Model Eugenical
Sterilization Law in 1922, which served as a model for many sterilizations laws in the states
(Berenbaum, 1998). By 1926, 23 states had passed sterilization laws that were voluntary and/or
involuntary in nature (Sofair, 2000). Laughlin and other eugenicists called for the sterilization of
institutionalized individuals under the assertion that their genetically inferior traits would be
passed to their progeny and be an economic drain on the state. Many states complied, and by 1935
over 30 states had some form of sterilization law with over 21,000 compulsory sterilizations
performed (Allen 1997). Though the eugenic nature of these laws was stressed by eugenicists, it
was acknowledged that the political support of such laws were greatly financially motivated.
Another important legislation passed by the U.S. was the Immigration Restriction Act of 1924,
which was the first immigration quota

Benefits And Benefits Of Teaching Kids
There are many benefits to teaching kids how to make a map or plan, and apply it to a project
that they want to work on. Over the past few years, many families have started planting their
own gardens in their yard during the spring months. A garden map is a great way to plan out
your spring garden, so that it looks just the way you want it to. There are some plants that can
not be planted to close to each other. For example cucumbers can easily overtake anything they
are planted next too. They can grab onto the plants next to them and also block out sunlight. That
is why a map is certainly a good idea. For your lesson plan have each of your children, draw a
picture of your yard. If the weather is nice outside, why not take them out in the yard and allow
them to draw a sketch first hand. After your children have finished drawing, their picture of the
garden, sit down with them and decide where you want the garden to go. If you have more than
one child, why not give each of them a small patch of land. Each of your kids can pick where they
want their patch of land to go. Have them indicate this on their garden map. They can even set up
how and where they want to plantthe seeds in the garden. A good way to incorporate math into this
lesson is measure the distance between each plant. Look up what the right distance between each
plant should be. Most of this information can easily be found online. If they write the measurements
down on the map, when it is time to plant they can

Analysis Of The Book Healing The Soul On The Age Of The...
The book Healing the Soul in the Age of the Brain by Elio Frattaroli, M.D. Explains why
medication isn t enough when treating mental illness. The Talking Cure by Susan C.Vaughan
explains why traditional therapy offers a chance for long term relief more than any other drug.
In this essay, I will write about what I have learned from both books, and I will provide examples
of how effective therapy is and the impact that can do on clients. I will explain why medication
is not always enough for clients suffering from mental illness. Also, I will compare the content
of both books with the Comer s psychological models. Based on my perception from both books,
Healing the Soul in the Age of the Brain, Frattaroli is a practicing psychoanalyst whose
hypothesis is that the psychiatric symptoms shown by clients, are an expression of unsolved
struggles and require to be worked throughout the psychotherapeutic method by a process of
transference and countertransference with the analyst. The book is remarkably useful in
explaining and speculating these processes and also in explaining Freud s different models of the
brain. Frattaroli develops his case when he implies that those who prefer the quick psychotropic
fix to the lengthy and costly processes of psychoanalytic therapy are giving expression to a
mentality that seeks to evade psychological disturbances and to renew balance before all else.
Using the analogy of learning to ride a bicycle Frattaroli suggests that an apprentice must be

Designing A New Logistics Network
1. Question #1.
Part A: Describe how you would design a new logistics network consisting of only a single
warehouse.
To design a single warehouse network, I would need to determine the optimal location of the
warehouse, its overall capacity, and the amount of space that will be allocated for each SKU or
product. A warehouse that is not strategically located in an equidistance manner to each region may
cause higher than normal transportation costs. If capacity is too low, inbound shipments could be
delayed and service levels will decline.

shipments to reduce transportation costs and improve service levels. The warehouse will be designed

3. Annual customer demand, by regional zone and by total aggregation
4. Service level requirements of each retail outlet/customer
5. Proposed location of the new warehouse and transportation distances from the new location to
each retail outlet/customer
6. Transportation rates by available modes (i.e., rail, motor, etc.)
7. Fixed costs for running a central warehouse/distribution to determine optimal capacity versus cost
Part D: What are the advantages and disadvantages of the newly suggested distribution strategy
relative to the existing distribution strategy? The advantages of a centralized warehouse is higher
service levels and lower inventory holding costs due to aggregating customer demand and pooling
risk. That is, if customer demand is high in one region and lower in another, there will be no need
to hold excess inventory in a regional warehouse; the variation in demand will balance out and
reduce the requirements for excess inventory. Additionally, the fixed costs of maintaining one
central warehouse/distribution center will be lower than five regional warehouses. The
disadvantages are higher outbound transportation costs. Even with a strategic warehouse location,
such as Kentucky, there will bound to be retail outlets farther than others, such as San

How Did Dorothy Hodgkin Contribute To Science
What is the legacy of Dorothy Hodgkin, both on the study of structure on an atomic scale and for
women in science?
By Ruqayyah Haq
I [Dorothy Hodgkin] was captured for life by chemistry and by crystals . Hodgkin was first
exposed to these two captivating topics at age 10, she was encouraged by a friend of her parents
(Dr A.F. Joseph) who gave her chemicals to analyse when she and her parents went to visit him.
Her interest grew and she went against the social gender norm, later attending chemistry classes
with the boys at school. Eventually this led to her choosing to study chemistry at the University
of Oxford and after she went on to complete a PhD at the University of Cambridge. Hodgkin
evidently academically excelled in science it was when she attended a special course in
crystallography (a combination of maths, physics and chemistry) where she was inspired to
continue research in Xray Crystallography, the physical science of x ray. In order to do this she
moved to Oxford as a research fellow where she began her independent research career in 1934.
Due to her motivation to understand Crystallography, Dr. Hodgkin was able to make important
discoveries in different areas of science. These discoveries have each made a positive change for
society:

Analysis Of The Secret Lives Of Sgt. John Wilson
Glory and Scandal , or in other words, Mary and John, two characters from the novel The Secret
Lives of Sgt. John Wilson who fall in love but eventually end their relationship on a tragic note.
Many events occurred through out the novel that caught my interest such as; the way they fell
madly in love, the transition into John becoming more of a ghost than a husband, then a more
twisted unforeseen plot that caught most readers entirely by surprise. The love affairs between the
characters in the novel, plus the twists and turns you experience while reading is the main
contributor as to why I love this book. Two polar opposites who started a life together, followed by
scandal and deceit, then ended in a most unspeakable way.
Mary Hutchinson was by far the most glorious and loving person through out the novel, and
loved by all that knew her, We all loved one another but somehow every one of us had a special
work with Polly. She was so bright and cheery and brave (Pg.7). She was a young seamstress
who lived a simple life, making an honest living and was very close to her loving family. She had
been pursued by her co worker the young Jack Wilson, who fall in love with her (or so she
thought), but it was normal for people to be attracted to her beautiful nature. After years of courting
they had finally gotten married and had children of their own, although the second would not be
born until the father I say vaguely had left the country. This once highly sought after woman would
now be left to care for two young children while her husband moved countries to find work (not to
mention flee embarrassment). This was the moment that would change her life for the worst, only
she hadn t known it yet.
Jack Wilson, a name that once had meaning, but is now said with resentment, he had every
opportunity to face his issues and make things right like any man should, especially whilst
having a child and another on the way, even the idea of leaving caused some unhappy feedback
Did you know he s thinking of running off to Canada? I d say good riddance if it wasn t for the

The easy parts of following the diet for hemodialysis were creating my DaVita account and

challenge. For instance, not having all of the ingredients to prepare the meals and deciding what
foods my family would eat. For breakfast, I chose to go with the apple smoothie with raisin toast.
The problem with this meal was that, I usually put bananas and milk in smoothies. This
smoothie did not have bananas and milk because of the high amount of potassium and
phosphorus which needs to be monitored in CKD patients. Some of the ingredients like the
flaxseeds and the butter were omitted from this recipe because they were not available. For
lunch, I chose the chicken broccoli pasta toss because we all like chicken. Here again some
ingredients were omitted (raisin and cider vinegar) because family members had issues with
them and other ingredients were substituted (e.g. regular mayonnaise instead of the low sodium,
low calorie). For dinner, I chose the oven baked fish with rice because we usually have fish once
a week. Unfortunately, I had to omit or substitute some of the ingredients for this meal as well.
The vinegar, red wine, and corn flakes were omitted and the butter and Egg Beaters were replaced

The Contributions of Frederick Douglas, William Apess,...
The Contributions of Frederick Douglas, William Apess, Sarah Margaret Fuller, and Sojourner Truth
As has been noted before, when we look at the authors of The Declaration of Independence, we are
quite aware that the document was written in the interest of the people who were there. The
wealthy, white, landowners make up the Constitution to fit their needs and exclude everyone else.
The people most notably left without rights are African American s, Native American s and
Women. These minority groups formed a bond with each other because they were outside the
dominant group. These groups of people helped gain their strength and voice through speeches and
conventions with each one using the very words of the Constitution as ... Show more content on

He goes on to explain his real life experiences. Douglas says: Fellow citizens, I am not wanting in
respect for the fathers of this republic. The signers of the Declaration of Independence were
brave men. They were great men too great enough to give fame to a great age. It does not often
happen to a nation to raise, at one time, such a number of truly great men. The point from which
I am compelled to view them is not, certainly, the most favorable; and yet I cannot contemplate
their great deeds with less than admiration. They were statesmen, patriots, and heroes, and for the
good they did, and the principles they contend for, I will unite with you to honor their memory
(1822). What Douglas does here is recognize and respect these men to the crowd and make
himself part of the group by honoring them together and yet he still gets his point across. Douglas
was known as an articulate antislavery speaker his speeches for the Massachusetts Antislavery
Society cemented Douglas role as an abolitionists. Douglas also worked for the Underground
Railroad (owl eyes 1).
Another minority to gain his voice during the American Renaissance was William Apess. The
earliest major Indian writers of the nineteenth century, William Apess...contrast s white s savage
treatment of non whites with their professed Christianity (1867). Apess uses the Bible to gain his
audience s sympathy with his cause. In An Indian s

The Usefulness Of Study Of Bank Cost And Efficiency
Comment on the usefulness of study of bank cost and efficiency in evaluating bank performance.
Introduction
From the very beginning of the bank history, we already know that the main operation of bank is to
take loan and to make deposit. Since the first bank established in 12th century, bank is no more a
simple institution where we exchange money but an agency considered to be speculative and
hopeful. There is no doubt that the prosperity in modern society benefits a lot from the
development of commercial activities, where bank plays a main role in. People make money
through work or investment. So they divide their income into two major parts : one part is
considered as profit ,with which people may consume or do reinvestment or put it ... Show more

The main part of supervision including capital adequacy ratio, loan loss reserves, loan centration
and bank liquidity. Those indicators are lines play role like fire alarm for the commercial banks to
watch out the dangerous at any moment.
Except being alert to those highly explored risks, what commercial banks concern about is the
profit. Today, in order to make business more efficient, it is a wise choice for both banks and
other kinds of companies to do financing and list practice. With this important step, banks
acquire more powerful support to develop branches into a wider scale market: running global
business, like HSBC. From the other hand, this can be a unprecedent challenge to the local
banks. The main reason why big companies are successful is they do know how to function the
business skillful. Works are separated into small pieces and more professional staff are hired to
solve special problems. This can be an advantage that local banks lack. Competition makes it clear
that local banks have to find their own advantage to survive in the crucial game.
Other competition from financial institution
Even some big companies start to provide relative banking services. Countless financial derivatives
also consist as a main part in banking.
Although in the textbook the main assumption is without mortgage, which means that it does not
matter whether the borrowers repay their loan or

U.S. Federal Government and Economic Issues Essay
This paper relates to what I have learned in the Macroeconomics class. For this final term paper; I
will write about the U.S. federal government operations and how government leaders handle
macroeconomic issues in our economy. We will discuss a couple of current economic issues and
what the federal government is doing to reach solutions. I will also address U.S. unemployment
issues, international trade, fiscal and monetary policies, and methods of alternative energy, along

A current elasticity issue is the U.S. Federal Government deficit spending that incurred a large
national debt in which had a negative affect on our economy. The U.S. Federal Government has
spent more money than what it is bringing in for Americans. This is known as the crowding out
effect which causes the Federal Reserve to increase unaffordable interest rates. In a recent Los
Angeles Times article, 2011, Tom Petruno reports that, as of June 18, 2011, the Federal Reserve
has been trying to bail the U.S out of debt in the past year by purchasing the Treasury s Net bond
issuance and created $600 billion new paper bills for the financial system via bond purchases since
November 2010. (Petruno, 2011) On March 15, 2011, the Board of Governors of the Federal
Reserve System (FBR) reported that, the Fed Committee is promoting a stronger pace for economic
recovery and have expanded its holdings on securities. They have reinvested principal payments
from the security holdings and will invest an additional amount of $600 billion into long term
treasury securities by the end of the fiscal year. Feds state that household expenditures, business
investments in equipment, and software continue to expand throughout the nation. The
nonresidential structures remain weak at this time and the housing sector is still depressed. There
have been some improvements in the labor market that is slowly decreasing the unemployment rate.

Virulence Factors Of Cryptoccus Neoformans
Cryptococcus neoformans (Cn) is a basidiomycete fungus that causes cryptococcosis worldwide in
immunodeficiency and healthy individuals. In this pathogen, the elaboration of virulence factors
including melanin and the capsule depends on intact intracellular trafficking, an essential cellular
process also required for nutrient uptake, ion homeostasis, and receptor recycling. Our previous
studies have found that Cn evolves a cryptococcal intersectin (Cin1) regulated endocytic pathway
essential for growth and virulence. We have also obtained evidence linking Cin1 to extracellular
RNAthrough RNA Seq and to CNS survival through co infection of a mouse model of
cryptococcosis. However, how Cin1 governs the transport network affecting... Show more content

Specifically, we will find if Cin1 orchestrates the only endocytic pathway and how it affects host
parasite interaction through regulating exRNA transport and mouse CNS survival. We propose
three specific aims: Aim 1 is to determine if Cin1 mediates the sole endocytic pathway in Cn
through identification and characterization of pathway components. Aim 2 is to examine the role
of Cin1 in exRNA export through continued annotation and analysis of RNA Seq data. Aim 3 is to
further explore the CNS survival advantage of Cin1 S by generating the Cin1 L strain using one
step CRISPR Cas9 mutagenesis method we recently developed and testing it through co infection.
Our central hypothesis is that intracellular trafficking is important in pathogen growth and
interaction with a host resulting pathogenesis (our long term goal). We propose those specific aims
to test the hypothesis that Cn evolves a distinct Cin1 endocytic pathway necessary for pathogenesis
(short term goal). Through studying a fundamental cellular process and its adaptation to
pathogenesis of Cn, our investigation could lead to the discovery of novel antifungal targets. 2.
Specific Aims
Cryptococcus neoformans (Cn) virulence depends on active transport of vesicles that contain
melanin and capsule precursors, proteinases, and other macromolecules. We found that Cin1 is
critical in mediating intracellular trafficking affecting growth and virulence and that Cin1 S
isoform exhibits a marked survival advantage in the

raised as an orphan and was a servant for many years. As he got older, he joined the Whitman
Spaulding Missionary Party. His fellow men in the party described him with light flaxen hair

Donald Trump s Presidential Election Essay
Donald s Trump s victory in the 2016 election is very complex. The political mishaps that have
occurred since JFK s presidency reshaped the American psyche of who the president should be.
This chain of dissatisfaction with the federal government led the American people to hope for a
president who is honest, free of corruption, and supportive of the middle class. Trump recognized
the American need for a new kind of president and took on a persona that perfectly exemplified
this. The Trump Mythology is the belief that Donald Trumpis a transparent, honest politician;
however, this is only part of the equation. Belief in the Trump Mythology contributed to his victory,
but it is also important to acknowledge the respective roles of demographics, voter turnout, and
Hillary Clinton s flaws. An interesting difference between the Kennedy Mythology and the Trump
Mythology that is worth noting is the role of the media. Throughout the Kennedy Era, popular
media fed the people s fascination of Kennedy s Camelot, perpetuating the mythology. Donald
Trump, however, was largely hated by popular culture. American media ultimately discounted
Donald Trump as a viable contender for the presidency.
From the very beginning of his campaign trail, Donald Trump piqued America s interest with his
blunt and oftentimes shocking statements. With his candidacy came exclamations of making
America great, building walls, deporting illegal immigrants, and keeping jobs in the United States.

Selection And Development Of Talent Management
Selection and Development in Talent Management C4.12 Bellevue University Selection and
Development in Talent Management The shortage of skilled employees combined with tightening
budgets has left many organizations reassessing their talent management investments. Limited
resources and changes in the type of labor needed have left manufacturing firms with the
difficult choice of whether to invest in the development of internal talent or looking outside the
firm. The purpose of this paper is to present a theoretical analysis of the selection or develop of
skilled trades in a large manufacturing organization. War for Skilled Labor Wheeler (1998)
suggests that manufacturing organizations are moving to more advanced and sophisticated
processes that require a workforce with advanced skill sets. The successful recruitment and
development of skilled labor is imperative as technological advances and complex machinery
becomes a necessity for manufacturing companies to remain competitive (Thornhill, 2006).
Michaels, Handfield Jones, and Axelrod (2001) propose that declining birth rates and earlier
retirements could create a skills shortage in critical areas. They refer to this trend as the
impending War for Talent. The aging workforce continues to be a growing concern for
organizations (Bloom, Canning, Sevilla, 2003). Thomas Calo (2008) has sent a call to action for

Low Birth Weight Research Essay
The term low birth weight is used in describing infants weighing less than 5 lbs 8 ounces (2500g)
whereas the average weight is 8 lbs (Stanford, 2015). An infant with a low birth weight has a
significantly higher chance of neonatal and perinatal mortality (Maheswari Behera, 2014). Babies
who do persevere and survive are documented of having inadequate neurosensory, cognitive,
behavioral development and limited school performance (Guyatt Snow, 2004). Shiono and
Behrman (1995) state that infants with low birth weight consist of 7% of live births, however, 35%
of the cost of healthcare goes towards caring for low birth weight infants. Studies show that African
Americaninfants are twice more than Caucasian infants to have a low birth weight. To bring a life
into this world takes more than conception; sacrifices need to be made, nurturing, and providing a
safe home for the child, but many minorities struggle to fulfill these needs. Health and health care
are imperative when it comes to being an expecting mother; therefore, it is important that to address
what influences the birth weight of African American infants in my research paper. I hope to
address how factors such as racial discrimination within the American health care system, prenatal
care, stress, and the age of the mother contributes to the low birth weight (LBW) disparities
between African American infants and Caucasian infants.

In the ad, it features ten supermodels with unrealistically thin bodies and long legs in their

in the idea or concept of a perfect body in your head with which the product was associated. By
lowering the viewer s self esteem and making them feel inadequate and unattractive, Victoria s

Women s Role Of Women In The Italian Renaissance
To be a woman in Renaissance Italy, was to be someone with limitations. Limitations to
what was acceptable in their world. Woman were pressured to be wives and mothers before any
other obligation. On top of those expectations, women were expected to maintain the idealistic
image of beauty. Meaning they had to dress and look a certain way to be accepted and placed
higher socially, within society.
The Italian Renaissance followed on the heels of the Middle Ages, and was spawned by
the birth of the philosophy of humanism, which emphasized the importance of individual
achievement in a wide range of fields, men and women. A woman in during the Italian
Renaissance was presumed with this idealistic motherhood representation formed by society.
Gender roles were a large factor that determined what a woman can and can t do. Males were
expected to go out of the home, work and make a living to support the family. While the wife
stays home with the children to raise them, clean, and cook for them. Women of the Renaissance,
like women of the Middle Ages, were denied all political rights and considered legally subject to
their husbands. Women of all classes were expected to perform, first and foremost, the duties of
housewife.
There were a few woman who broke away from the norm, refusing to follow the path
other s had chosen. This was rare, because although woman had to follow a certain amount of
rules, they had a well built life. They had a husband and

he would need a large woodpile to get through the night ( pg 90 ). He is cunning in the sentence
above because of how he is thinking. He had sat a whole night and shaped the limbs carefully
until the bow looked beautiful ( pg 117 ). This sentence shows cunning by how he made a bow
out of his bear hands. He had spent two days making arrows ; the shafts were willow , straight
and with the bark pealed, and he fire hardened the points and split a couple of them to make
forked points, as he had done with the spear ( pg 117 ). In this cunning experience he has showed

The Scottsboro boys trial took place in March of 1931, a trial that was dictated by race and not
by actions. The accusations were faulty, as was the evidence. Yet the boys were all sentenced for
death or life imprisonment. The trial was unfair at least, the nine black boys were in the wrong

The boys were riding a train to find work and instead got into a fight with some of the white men
on the train. The police were called and they came. Two women were also in the train car and out
of fear they reported they had been raped by the black men. The black men were then arrested and

ottoman empire fell after WWI, Iraq became a mandate of the British empire in 1919 and was used
primarily for oil and gas. when they took over many arab states after the ottomans, they drew

lots of upside for britain, they still were required to provide military aid, and had to vouch for
them to be entered in the league of nations. After the treaty was signed, Iraq began nationwide
elections which resulted in many political changes throughout the system, with many people
stepping down from power. Now came the struggle for oil. During the rule of the ottoman empire,
the Turkish Petroleum Company had the rights to all the oil in Mosul. In 1923, the british and
iraqi governments began discussing a new distribution in oil. There was however a major
obstacle, in that iraq was being stubborn and wanted to own over 20% of the company. Due to
this, the league of nations took matters into their own hands. Since the british had lots of power in
the league of nations, Iraq asked them to help in fear that turkey would win rights to the oil. The
british pulled through and the land was now considered part of Iraq. This favor now resulted in

The Assess And Disadvantages Of Total Quality Management
3.0 Total Quality Management Total quality management (TQM) is to provide customers with
superior products and services. Every company has to continually examine their activities to
improve quality and eliminate defects and wastes, especially lean companies who strive for high
quality production. The production might be slowed or shut down by poor quality materials and
defective manufacturing processes. Those companies have adopted ABC and identified their
primary activities, they can concentrate on making those activities more efficient or finding ways
to eliminate any non value added activities. Most companies find that they can generate savings in
the end of value chain, such as production, marketing, distribution and customer service if they

uninsured individual is about 60 years. Shorter life expectancies are due to health conditions such
as high blood pressure and unhealthy lifestyles that could have been controlled if they had health
insurance. Numerous health care reforms have been put into place to improve the system s
efficiency. However, the reforms have made a weak impact on changing the system. The three
major problems of the U.S. health care system are high cost, low accessibility, and poor patient
quality and outcome.
The biggest problem that the United States health care faces is the skyrocketing prices. The United
States health care prices have been rising for decades and are still continuing to escalate. The U.S.
has the highest health care prices in the world, even higher than other countries with impressive
standards of living such as Germany, and the UK. Studies predict that the health care could
possibly consume 50% of the Gross Domestic Product by 2082 (Darling, 2009, p. 89). With the
costs steadily rising, the result will be millions more people without health insurance on top of
those who are

God s Spirits Of Lust
Human Sacrifices
Satan s spirits of lust emerge in the pagan gods Baal, Molech, and Chemosh that are all mentioned
in the Bible; specifically, their practices often included distorted sexual acts, human sacrifices,
cannibalism, and the eating of blood that were distinctively traits of devil worship. Baal worship
became abundant throughout much of the ancient Middle East; concurrently, in early societies Baal
has a long history of perverted sex that is akin to Pan Worship within his cult rituals. Mount
Hermon turned out to be one of the major centers of Baal/Pan worship that involved the brutality of
human sacrifices. Baal obtained other god s identity, such as the horned Molech; well known for
child sacrifices. The various names and epithets of Baal occurring in the Old Testamentand
elsewhere were derived from his various aspects and the localities of his worship. For the majority
of people, the cruelty of tormenting and murdering children becomes too devastating, believing that
it just could not have happened. On the contrary, the Bible s staunch position states numerous times
concerning these killings, and references how the Israelites served the idols of the heathen.
In 1870, Sir Charles Warren happened to be exploring in the Lebanon region on the summit of
Mount Hermon and found the ruins of a temple believed to belong to Baal. Similarly, this could be
relevant to the Bible s stating they ...destroy all their molten

Unit 6 Written Assignment
The company I chose to explore is Whole Foods and the corporate social responsibility (CSR)
they adhere to. Corporate social responsibility, also known as CSR, means a corporation s
initiatives to assess and take responsibility for the company s effects on environmental and social
well being , according to, Investopedia, (R., 2015). Whole foods are dedicated to contributing back
to its people, community, and the environment while profiting as a company. CSR is just as
important as their ethical practices including green marketing by utilizing the marketing of products
believed to be preferably used by people which incorporate a number of activities such as,
environmentally friendly packaging, sustainability, and modified advertising. The company s
reputation of what they offer, the treatment of their employees, behavior as a company, including
the major factors of they represent across the marketplace is what they strive to exude.
As stated on the whole foods market website, sustainability and our future , whole foods has a
vision of a sustainable future for generations to come, (Sustainable and our future, n.d.). Corporate
social responsibility has existed in their strategy as a company since the beginning. Founder and co
CEO, John Mackey found the company in the beginning of the eighties decade and has instilled
these practices since. They have built sustainability into their

Theodore Roosevelt s Speech On Sports And Football
In today s society, as well as in the past, it s easy for kids and young adults to be consumed by
sports and athletics and it s even easier for those kids and young adults consumed by sports and
athletics to stray away from their education, this creates a difficult situation for the parents who are
trying to support their kids in there sports as well as persuading their kids to concentrate on their
education over sports. Responding to the fact that Ted, Theodore Roosevelts son, is asking his father
to intervene due to the fact that he didn t make varsity, Theodore Roosevelt, the president of the
United Statesat the time, discusses the need for Ted to focus more on academics rather than
sports. By contrasting himself to his son, conceding and refuting his own argument, and using
historical examples, he convinces his son, Ted, to concentrate more on his education rather than
sports. Although Theodore Roosevelt himself never played football, he understood the
importance of football to Ted. Roosevelt starts off his letter by contrasting himself with his son
in order to emphasize how proud he is of Ted and his abilities to play football compared to
himself and Ted s brother who never had the abilities to pursue football. Roosevelt writes, I am
proud of your pluck, and I greatly admire football though it was not a game I was ever able to play
myself, my qualities resembling Kermit s rather than yours. By contrasting himself with his son,
Roosevelt singles Ted out praises

Auschwitz In Germany
The year is 1939. You are in Germany. You have been deemed a most unfortunate status. Being a
Jew. However you do not know of your misfortune quite yet. Your country is recovering from an
economic and social depression. You hear of a new leader. A leader who will make Germany great
again. That leader s name is Adolf Hitler. To many this sounds like good news. It is not. You and
your fellow German citizens lose your rights. The right to free assembly. The right of free press.
The right of free speech. You decide that to make Germany great again it is fine for Hitler to
revoke your and your fellow Germans rights. One day you decide to go to your neighbor to discuss
social matters. Your neighbor is a financially stable plump man. You stay for

Since Auschwitz Birkenau was only one of the many Nazi concentration camps that was built to
imprison Jews, it is clear that tens of millions of Jews were put in these concentration camps
(mostly European Jews). Jewish prisoners in the Auschwitz facility were crammed [by the
hundreds] into tiny horse stables, which were overrun with vermin. Toilets and washing
facilities were inadequate [at these concentration camps] and prisoners were given very little
time to use them. [These imprisoned Jews] were fed with small rations providing about 1,300
calories a day for prisoners and 1,700 calories a day for laborers. [These] prisoners and laborers
in the camps were subject to arbitrary punishment at the whim of the SS guards at all times and
could be tortured or executed without notice and for any reason (Auschwitz). In addition to this,
Jewish prisoners were also brutally treated along the way to these concentration camps. In most
cases prisoners traveled for days with nothing to eat or drink and without any toilet facilities and
many died on the journey (Auschwitz). Although these were clearly vile and inhumane acts which
were taken against the Jews, the reception of these policies was mixed. Some nations (Poland, for
example) willingly gave their Jews to the Schutzstaffeln (SS). Other countries, like Denmark,
resisted handing over Danish citizens to be murdered by the Nazis. France was mixed in its
reaction. The Vichy government gladly handed over any foreign Jews residing in France, but was
hesitant to deport Jewish French citizens

Immigration Position Paper
Immigration: A Time for Reform amp; Reevaluation By Ricardo Cerna Devry University
/ January 2012 / English 112 Immigration reform is the old yet new revitalized hot topic being
discussed in the media which will not seem to fade away from the spot light despite its drawbacks.
The reality of that ongoing debate is that this country, and the State of California in particular, was
founded by immigrants fleeing an oppressive government, yet this same country and state now
oppress immigrants fleeing from similar situations trying to reestablish new lives within its borders.
We cannot forget where we originated from and the foundation this great nation and state was built

degree or two years of military service. If at the end of the 6 year period the individual has
demonstrated good moral character, he or she could then apply for U.S. citizenship , (DREAM,
n.d.,2012). Its a small but, significant step for reforming an immigration system which in all
reality is broken. Just image the endless potential for this nation and California as an individual
economy to grow with such bright, talented and progressive minds. A melting pot of educated
minds from all across the board ethnic backgrounds working in conjunction to better our world
due to a better understanding of empathy for those less fortunate and in need of guidance and
role models, that is what this batch of immigrants do and can do for this nation and state. When
one thinks of immigrants, lets face it what one envisions is the man or woman working in
California restaurant kitchens, the maids in middle class neighborhoods, baby sitters, gardeners
mowing lawns. L.A mayor Antonio Villaraigoza famously put it during a speech: Today we say
to America: We ve come here to work: We clean toilets. We clean your hotels. We build your

Computer Security And Social Engineering Essay
Computer security is a very important topic in today s world. One does not have to look far to
read about data breaches, DDoS attacks, or other computer related crimes. When we think of
cybercrime, we usually envision the Hollywood portrayal of technical hackers typing vigorously
and wearing dark sunglasses. However, in reality, hacking tends to be much less glamorous.
Actually, one critical element is often overlooked by the general public and movies alike; yet,
every security professional knows, people are the weakest link, when it comes to security. In
fact, as part of a demonstration at the 2010 Def Con hacking conference, large corporations were
subject to social engineering techniques. The result was alarming: 96% of employees contacted
by phone or email disclosed confidential information... (Ricart). In this paper, I will discuss the
concept of social engineering: what it is, the types of attacks, the framework used in carrying out
said attacks, and lastly, I will address countermeasures to mitigate the risk. Social engineering, as
defined on social engineer.org, is any act that influences a person to take an action that may or may
not be in their best interest (social engineer). Human nature is a very interesting topic and one that
has been studied for centuries. Throughout its history, certain patterns and behaviors have been
observed. Therefore, social engineering is a type of applied science that is rooted in psychology,
however its nature is fluid and varies

Cause And Effect Of Smartphone Technology
Imagine; it is 1989 and the only kind of portable phone in existence is a flip phone, which only
the wealthy can afford. Flash Forward twenty eight years and there are four different brands of
smartphones, with over forty versions all together. There are endless options to transfer
information from one person to another, and millions of applications that can be downloaded.
Since the early 2000s, smartphone technology has been rapidly changing at a rate that can not
be slowed down. The successful advance in this technology has done more harm than good. The
cause of smartphone technology become better has had many effects such as; creating antisocial
people, more bullying, people not using natural intelligence, and overall they are taking over
people s lives. Smartphones do not only distract us from interacting with those who are
physically with us. They also give people the need to feel as though they do not need to take part
in pro social behavior. With the advance spread of mobile technology, it is rather easy for
individuals to remain in constant contact with their social networks online. A recent Pew Research
survey of adults in the U.S. found that 71% use Facebook at least occasionally, and 45% of
Facebook users check the site several times a day (Wall Street Journal 2017). People are spending
too much time maintaining frivolous connections online, and not taking enough time to pursue
deeper real life relationships. When walking into a coffee shop or a restaurant,

Escape Through The Red Sea
Exodus 14: 10 20
10 As Pharaoh drew near, the Israelites looked back, and there were the Egyptians advancing on
them. In great fear the Israelites cried out to the LORD. 11They said to Moses, Was it because
there were no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What have
you done to us, bringing us out of Egypt? 12Is this not the very thing we told you in Egypt, Let us
alone and let us serve the Egyptians ? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians
than to die in the wilderness. 13But Moses said to the people, Do not be afraid, stand firm, and see
the deliverance that the LORD will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you see

The period of oppression followed; the Pharaoh ordered the Jews to build the cities of Pithom
and Ramesses. To avoid a population explosion among the Hebrews, Pharaoh ordered each
newborn son to be thrown into the river. Moses was nevertheless preserved by his mother for
the first three months of his life before she finally decided to put him in a rush basket on the
river s edge. The Pharaoh s daughter discovered him, rescued him and gave him to a nurse, none
other than his own mother. This was because Moses s sister had watched to see who would find
the baby, had pretended not to recognize him and then recommended to the Princess a nurse who
was really the child s mother. He was treated as one of the Pharaoh s sons and given the name
Moses .
God ordered Moses to go and find the Pharaoh and lead his brothers out of Egypt. Aaron, Moses s
brother, helped him in this task. This is why Moses, once he had returned to Egypt, went with his
brother to visit the Pharaoh who was the successor of the king under whose reign he had long ago
been born.
The Pharaoh refused to allow the Jews in Moses s group to leave Egypt. God revealed Himself to
Moses once again and ordered him to repeat his request to Pharaoh. According to the Bible, Moses
was eighty years old at this time. Through magic, Moses showed the Pharaoh that he had
supernatural powers. This was not enough however. God sent the famous plagues down upon
Egypt. The rivers were changed into blood,

What Evangelicalism And Fundamentalism Means Throughout...
This semester we have peeled away the layers of what evangelicalism and fundamentalism means
throughout history, especially in our Western culture. I am intrigued with them both and their
very presence in many of our modern day congregations. After visiting Grace Covenant Church
of Austin, Texas, much of the contributions that have been emphasized in books such as The
American Evangelical Story by Douglas Sweeney and American Apocalypse by Matthew
Sutton, I experienced while at Grace. We are a church transformed by grace, connected through
relationships and committed to service is their mission statement and as is everything down in
Texas, they are big! They have a large campus with several buildings on site with the promise of
riding in a golf cart if you have special needs or just need transportation to get to a different
building. I must say, as someone who works with youth, I was impressed as to their commitment
to a separate building for those kids in preschool up through high school. At a time when
autonomy is so important for a young person, having their own space seemed quite impressive.
The first thing you notice upon entering the stadium styled sanctuary, is the focus on the stage;

Assignment 3 Feedback Assignment
Hello,
To begin with, I received my Assignment 3 feedback yesterday and I am very happy with the
feedback/grade I received. The grade itself was higher than that of the previous assignment
which made me feel good as it shows I am slowly improving in certain aspects of my writing. I
still need to work on my comma usage, review subject verb agreement and review topic sentences
for a summary paragraph. Next, I would like to talk about sentence variety, which I mentioned in
my last post. This time, I used a variety of sentences in my writing and it really made a difference
in the tone and flow of the paragraph, so I believe I ve grasped how to use sentence variety
effectively. I would also like to talk about MLA formatting, which I also mentioned

Reflection On Ethics And Ethics
Great individuals have great ethics and great values. Ethics and morality can be used
interchangeably as they sound as if they mean the same although there is a wide distinction
between them. Strictly speaking, morality is used to refer to what we would call moral standards
and moral conduct while ethicsis used to refer to the formal study of those standards and conduct.
For this reason, the study of ethics is also often called moral philosophy. (Gordana D 2007)
Morality comes first which constitutes of our beliefs and practices on what is right and wrong
while ethics comes next which is a reflection on the moral principles by our conscience. Morality is
influenced by law, religion, ethical relativism and professional codes.

When we have performances the amount of time we get to make a routine and practice is pretty
less, so not everyone gets to be a part of the team. Kicking someone out is not as easy as it
sounds. As rebellious as youngsters are, such fights could get out of hand. After studying about
the normative theories I realised that while making decisions about who should be removed,
which show to perform in etc. the main thing that I think of is what is going to benefit more
number of people the most. If I chose to remove a particular person, it brought them grief and
guilt on my behalf in the short term but in the long term, the level of performance rose leaving
the crew, judges and the audience happy. Also, sometimes we had to choose on which show to
perform and which not to. In this case we would select the show which gave us more exposure
because it offers us greater benefit opposed to a show at a smaller level. Thus, in this way the
theory of utilitarianism helped me make decisions when confused about what is ethical and what is

Persuasive Essay On Happiness
We live in America, a country that is rather prosperous in comparison to many other countries in
the world. In order to get to where this country is today wars were started, people enslaved, and
countries exploited. The greater majority s happiness was derived from another humans suffering.
This has occurred throughout the majority of human history and continues into today s society.
While we may see this as the wrong way to live we don t mind sustaining our prosperity. Just as
Jesus Christ suffered for the sake of humanity s sins, much of what gives us happiness
unmistakably generates affliction around the globe. Just as every action has an equal or opposite
reaction, every choice has a repercussion whether we know it or not. Our world is reminiscent of a
yin yang symbol, the white side representing our happiness and the black side the pain and suffering
that got us there. By choosing our advantage over what is right, staying ignorant, and
entanglement in consumerism our happiness is the offspring of despair somewhere in the
world. We are all guilty of encountering happiness that was in some way the byproduct of
someone s suffering. Whether we realize it or not does not mean we are not guilty of the same
sin. For example, I went to a job interview a few months ago and there were two other gentlemen
that were far more qualified than me interviewing as well. We all needed and wanted the job
equally although the job was granted to me because I knew a general manager at the company. I
chose success in exchange for the other gentlemen suffering a declined job offer. A lot of the time
we don t even realize the suffering that our decisions cause or that suffering even occurred.
America has been at war for nearly half of its existence to protect our rights and liberty. While we
are safe and happy within our own borders both our soldiers and the countrywe are fighting are
suffering immensely. For many years America endorsed slavery as free labor to create a happier
society for white people. In these examples, many people are suffering for the sake of the America
or particular race s happiness. While much of this is uncontrollable for the majority we still have to
face the facts that our happiness

  • 2. The Disney Princesses Some figures that have been very important and influential to young children for a long time are the Disney Princesses. There are many features about these characters that make them so loved however after careful analysis is becomes obvious that these are not the kinds of characters children should be idolizing. Many young girls spend a large amount of their life wanting to be a princess but Disney s portrayal of princesses makes this not seem so desirable. A princess according to Disney is a young, virgin, beautiful girl who has a single parent and an unnaturally skinny body. She falls in love very quickly and her only goal in life is to get married (Daedaluss, C.). There are nine Disney Princesses that were released between the years of 1937 and 2009. According to a study done by England D., Descartes L. and Collier Meek M. (567) all of the Disney Princess movies portray women as having very stereotypical representation of gender. Over time Disney s portrayal of the princesses have changed but overall there is not a lot of improvement in regards to the portrayal of gender stereotypes (England, Descartes Collier Meek , 568). These stereotypes have given young girls misunderstandings about how a woman should look and behave. The first Disney princess was Snow White from Snow White and the Seven dwarves released in 1937. Snow White portrays the image as young, innocent and pure. She only lives with her evil stepmother and her loves doing housework (Daedaluss). She is not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Gordie Howe In Hockey Hockey has many aspects to the game including how it came about as national sport in the world today and creating one of the greatest hockey players Gordie Howe who played for the Detroit Red Wings. Gordie Howe grew up in a small town that goes by Saskatoon where he learned to play hockey. Howe spent most of his winters on any ice surface he could get his skates on. Howe loved to play hockey even though his family was challenged on the wealth side of things. He got his first pair of skates from a neighbor, the skates were far too big so he put on multiple pairs of socks so they would fit and so he could skate. Eventually he grew out of his skates and he had to strap blades to his everyday shoes. Howe developed a health threatening calcium deficiency... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Gordie Howe managed to play a solid 25 seasons with the Detroit Red Wings. He won the Red Wings to 4 Stanley Cups, and even Grezinsky Idolized him. Howe played 32 seasons of hockey a majority of them with the Red Wings. He played Right Wing by scoring in all kinds of different maneuvers . He handled the puck very well by setting up his teammates by giving precise passes and sniping the corners. Gordie Howe had hat tricks here and there from season to season, but Howe did however create a new hat trick called the Gordie Howe hat trick which is one fight, one goal, and a assist. During the time that Howe played helmets were not required so he received numerous injuries, including 500 stitches in the face. But Howe kept living his dream. Howe teamed up with Sid Abel and Ted Lindsay to become the Red Wings production line. The Wings dominated the league in the 1950s. The players on the production line could be blindfolded and they still could know where the other player is on the ice. Howe was eventually 1st or 2nd NHL team 21 times. He helped the Red Wings win the Stanley cup in 1950, 52 , 54 ,and 55 . Even Grezinsky recognized how good he was, then again Grezinsky was only a kid. After playing with the Red Wings for so long he had ended his hockey career, but later he played with his sons and a couple other NHL ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. A Single Financial Reporting Standard With Full Universal... Establishment of a single financial reporting standard with full universal acceptance is unattainable on various levels. Due to the prevailing economic, political, and cultural environments, it is unconvincing and irrational to have a uniform set of global financial reporting standards. There are controversies regarding the different types of economic systems used worldwide, centralizing the major difference in the systems to be the governmental role and influence on market activity. For there to be a proper measure in comparability in financial statementsthere is an intrinsic need for a correlated set of economic activities along with an equivalent accounting system. If the US were to adopt IFRS there is a questionable level to the amount of comparison we can recognize for nations under different economic systems. Applying this even further, accounting under a new universal regulation will have economic consequences; changes to regulation will inevitably lead to changes to a nation s economy. With that said, IFRS is currently not compatible with US corporate governance. Countries, including the US, that decide to converge with IFRS yet function under different economic and political environments will inherently implement the universal standard to fit their institutional infrastructures diminishing comparability between nations (Hail). There are significant differences in the foundation of US GAAP and IFRS, specifically IFRS s principles based accounting and US GAAP s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. An Unethical Dilemma Of A Dentist After looking at various articles on the Dentaltown website, I came across an interesting article that showed an unethical dilemma. In this article, a dentist (lower priced dentist) is talking about an 83 year old patient that came into his office for a second opinion. The lower priced dentist mentions that the woman needed some basic dental work done to her teeth to keep them healthy. While (deleted comma) the woman was at her general dentist, the dentist was attempting to force the woman to get a more expensive cosmetic work done. Her general dentist provided her with an expensive treatment plan for approximately $14,700. Upon hearing the cost, the patient went for a second opinion from another dentist in town. After looking at her x rays, she was given another inexpensive treatment option using composite now and later putting in crowns if needed. The patient got her work done with the inexpensive treatment and goes back to her regular dentist for a routine check up. She told her regular dentist about the bonding work done instead of the crowns. At hearing this, he replied that he could have done that for her as well. I believe this was unethical for a variety of reasons. First reason is that her general dentist attempted to force the woman to get cosmetic dental work done instead of just focusing on keeping her teeth healthy. Second reason, is after talking the patient into getting cosmetic work done he tried to over charge her for the treatment. Third, the dentist ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Lao Tzu, Aristotle, And Confucius What is the most important thing to humans? Happiness? Power? Family? What about words or innocence? Depending on who you ask, the answer will differ no matter what; that is because there is no clear definition of what is important for people. Each person must define importance for themselves. However, that doesn t stop philosophers from inquiring to find the answer, and the results are exactly as expected there is no consensus. This essay will look to three of the most well known philosophers in the world, Lao Tzu, Aristotle, and Confucius, and compare their individual ideals to reach a consensus as to what is important in life. While there are similarities and differences with all their texts, Confucius ideas align more closely with Aristotle... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The former intellects are in support of words and the names of things; Confucius even spends time in The Analects stressing the importance of naming things correctly, If names are not rectified, then speech will not function properly, and if speech does not function properly, then undertakings will not succeed (The Analects, 13.3). Aristotle agrees with this sentiment stating, But those who regulate their desires and actions by a rational principle will greatly benefit from a knowledge of this subject [ethics] (Ethics I.3, 1095a10 12). Here his word for rational principle is logos, which based footnotes of the translator Martin Ostwald, logos fundamental meaning is speech/statements. Both philosophers place a significant importance on names not just for education purposes, but for the functionality of man as a whole. Lao Tzu, on the contrary, does not contend that names serve any importance in society. Names have no lasting name, here he claims that the origin of heaven and earth is nameless, therefore to be nameless is godliness (Tao Te Ching, 1). Lao Tzu even places his own importance on the weight of his lack of words and understanding, Few understand me, and that is my value (Tao Te Ching, 70). Birth Defects and the Millennum Development Goals Essay Birth defects is a critical issue and this is reflected through the intersectionality of birth defects and several of the Millennium Development goals. Birth defects is related to goals 4,5 and 6 which are infant mortality, improving maternal health and environmental health. All of these goals are interrelated of preventing and improving birth outcomes. The web of connections birth defects has with the millennium development emphasize the importance of handling this issue. Birth defects affects different nations across different severities. Although the cause of most birth defects are unknown, certain genetic and environmental factors increase the chance of birth defects developing. These factors include exposure to radiation, certain drugs, alcohol, isotretinoin, accutane, nutritional deficiencies, certain infections in the mother, injuries, and hereditary disorders. While some risks are avoidable others occur no matter how strictly a pregnant woman adheres to healthful living practices. Environmental substances that can cause birth defects are called teratogens. A teratogen is any substance that can cause or increase the chance of a birth defect. Examples include radiation (including x rays), certain drugs, and toxins (including alcohol). Most pregnant women who are exposed to teratogens have newborns withabnormalities. Whether or not a birth defect occurs depends on when, how much, and how long the pregnant woman was exposed to the teratogen. For example, exposure to a teratogen during the time that certain parts of the brain are developing is more likely to cause a defect in those areas than exposure before or after this critical period. • 8. Compare And Contrast The Pantheon In Athens And The Parthenon Two Ancient Monuments Two of the ancient world s best examples of architecture, which still exist today, are the Pantheon in Athens, and the Parthenon in Rome. Both of these monuments are more than just classical temples, they are symbols of the great civilizations of the past which constructed them. Achievements which have stood the test of time, despite the fact they have been stripped of their former glory. First of all let s consider the older of the two, the Parthenon. The Parthenon stands on the top of the Acropolis, a rocky outcrop in the center of Athens, Greece. Work began on the temple complex shortly after the war with Persia ended, from 447 to 432 BCE. The funds to finance the building of this grand monument came from the surplus of the war treasury of the Delian League, an alliance of city states created for the sake of defence against the Persians. The Acropolis had suffered greatly in the war when the Persians invaded Athens in 480 BCE, looting and destroying the temples. Yet the building of the Parthenon was more than just a restoration of lost temples, it was a statement, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 9. Timmermans Timmermans: Evidence based medicine and the reconfiguration of medical knowledge. EBM or evidence based medicine is a form of protocols used to standardize diagnoses and treatment plans. In this journal we learn details about the four medical professionalization theories and we also learn what Timmermans believes to be the downfalls of those theories. The effects of EBM on the medical profession are stated as being the fact that medicine shifts from pathophysiology to epidemiology with guidelines, these guidelines seem to interfere with the autonomy of the practitioner. There are three questions that the journal is interested in evaluating. The first question has to do with whether the epistemological characteristics of medicine are more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the major downfalls of EBM according to Upshur are the time constraints that depersonalize the doctor patient interactions by forcing the doctor ask a barrage of questions which are necessary to follow protocol; this takes away from the potential of the clinician to practice active listening since there is a limit on the time allotted per patient interaction. Another limitation is that the clinical trials on which EBM are based on have specific patent characteristics, most of which do not have multiple illnesses in order to eliminate confounding variables. These patients are very different than the real world patients that have multiple illnesses and are taking various medications. In addition, there are very few clinical trials that include the elderly population since the trials usually want otherwise healthy people with a single diagnosis. Another problem relating to the randomized control trials is that they still do not tell you exactly what will work for your patient but rather what may work, this is seen as having little difference between how the practitioner can diagnose a patent. In all this article argues that the limited access to technologies and the standardized patient presentations used for the clinical trials actually impedes the ability of the EBM to be effective for all ... The document was produced by the front de liberation du Quebec, a left wing organization that advocated for separatist policies beginning in the early 1960 s. • 11. Effects Of The Crusades On Western Civilizations Stephanie Alfonso April 27,2016 Humanities Consequences of the Crusades The crusades were a series of religious wars that though they took place centuries ago, they are still often discussed today. The crusades were a religious war between the Christian and Muslim states that lasted years. The Byzantine Empire, which had thrived spread over the coastal areas of the Mediterranean...now found itself increasingly challenged by the navies and pirates of Isla. The contest between these two sides were to generate seeds of the first Crusade (Paine 8 9). Some claim that the Crusades offered nothing but a negative impact to western civilization, however, that may not be the case. On the contrary, the Crusades provided a positive short term and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This also cause the split between the Eastern and Western orthodox churches to deepen. Some believe that one of the wars was based on some wanting to impose the authority of the Roman church to the east, though this assumption has never been proven. The great schism divided Christendom into Eastern orthodox churches and Roman catholic churches. The tension between the split of these two types of churches was heightened then heightened by the pope and patriarch by not allowing the Greek and Latin languages in their churches. Both the Byzantine Orthodox church and the Roman catholic church attempted to wipe out divergent practices and beliefs... (Paine 12). There was also tension over which church held more authority. The crusades however did not only have short term consequences, these wars also had a large long term consequences on development of western civilization. Including long term economic benefits, advancements in technology, and a growth in urban culture. One of the long term affects the crusades had on western civilization is the economic benefits. As discussed in one of the previous paragraphs, western Europe benefited economically of the crusades because of trade. This benefits the development of western civilization because it opened the opportunity to have long distance trade. Many of these trades were able to happen because of this accessibility to the Mediterranean allowing them to trade with the far east. Allowing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Sterilization Laws Of The United States Sterilization legislature was enacted on the state level with the goal of physically preventing the procreation of individuals deemed to be unfit, mainly handicapped persons or criminals. Though the nature of these laws did not outright target certain races or social classes, a disproportionate amount of the individuals sterilized were non white or of immigrant background. Prominent eugenicists and eugenic organizations in the U.S. played a key role in lobbying for state sterilization laws. Harry H. Laughlin, superintendent of the EugenicsRecord Office, drafted the American Model Eugenical Sterilization Law in 1922, which served as a model for many sterilizations laws in the states (Berenbaum, 1998). By 1926, 23 states had passed sterilization laws that were voluntary and/or involuntary in nature (Sofair, 2000). Laughlin and other eugenicists called for the sterilization of institutionalized individuals under the assertion that their genetically inferior traits would be passed to their progeny and be an economic drain on the state. Many states complied, and by 1935 over 30 states had some form of sterilization law with over 21,000 compulsory sterilizations performed (Allen 1997). • 13. Benefits And Benefits Of Teaching Kids There are many benefits to teaching kids how to make a map or plan, and apply it to a project that they want to work on. Over the past few years, many families have started planting their own gardens in their yard during the spring months. A garden map is a great way to plan out your spring garden, so that it looks just the way you want it to. There are some plants that can not be planted to close to each other. For example cucumbers can easily overtake anything they are planted next too. They can grab onto the plants next to them and also block out sunlight. That is why a map is certainly a good idea. For your lesson plan have each of your children, draw a picture of your yard. If the weather is nice outside, why not take them out in the yard and allow them to draw a sketch first hand. After your children have finished drawing, their picture of the garden, sit down with them and decide where you want the garden to go. If you have more than one child, why not give each of them a small patch of land. Each of your kids can pick where they want their patch of land to go. Have them indicate this on their garden map. They can even set up how and where they want to plantthe seeds in the garden. A good way to incorporate math into this lesson is measure the distance between each plant. Look up what the right distance between each plant should be. Most of this information can easily be found online. If they write the measurements down on the map, when it is time to plant they can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The book Healing the Soul in the Age of the Brain by Elio Frattaroli, M.D. Explains why medication isn t enough when treating mental illness. The Talking Cure by Susan C.Vaughan explains why traditional therapy offers a chance for long term relief more than any other drug. In this essay, I will write about what I have learned from both books, and I will provide examples of how effective therapy is and the impact that can do on clients. I will explain why medication is not always enough for clients suffering from mental illness. Also, I will compare the content of both books with the Comer s psychological models. Based on my perception from both books, Healing the Soul in the Age of the Brain, Frattaroli is a practicing psychoanalyst whose hypothesis is that the psychiatric symptoms shown by clients, are an expression of unsolved struggles and require to be worked throughout the psychotherapeutic method by a process of transference and countertransference with the analyst. The book is remarkably useful in explaining and speculating these processes and also in explaining Freud s different models of the brain. Frattaroli develops his case when he implies that those who prefer the quick psychotropic fix to the lengthy and costly processes of psychoanalytic therapy are giving expression to a mentality that seeks to evade psychological disturbances and to renew balance before all else. To design a single warehouse network, I would need to determine the optimal location of the warehouse, its overall capacity, and the amount of space that will be allocated for each SKU or product. A warehouse that is not strategically located in an equidistance manner to each region may cause higher than normal transportation costs. If capacity is too low, inbound shipments could be delayed and service levels will decline. The advantages of a centralized warehouse is higher service levels and lower inventory holding costs due to aggregating customer demand and pooling risk. That is, if customer demand is high in one region and lower in another, there will be no need to hold excess inventory in a regional warehouse; the variation in demand will balance out and reduce the requirements for excess inventory. Additionally, the fixed costs of maintaining one central warehouse/distribution center will be lower than five regional warehouses. The disadvantages are higher outbound transportation costs. By Ruqayyah Haq I [Dorothy Hodgkin] was captured for life by chemistry and by crystals . Hodgkin was first exposed to these two captivating topics at age 10, she was encouraged by a friend of her parents (Dr A.F. Joseph) who gave her chemicals to analyse when she and her parents went to visit him. Her interest grew and she went against the social gender norm, later attending chemistry classes with the boys at school. Eventually this led to her choosing to study chemistry at the University of Oxford and after she went on to complete a PhD at the University of Cambridge. Hodgkin evidently academically excelled in science it was when she attended a special course in crystallography (a combination of maths, physics and chemistry) where she was inspired to continue research in Xray Crystallography, the physical science of x ray. In order to do this she moved to Oxford as a research fellow where she began her independent research career in 1934. • 19. Analysis Of The Secret Lives Of Sgt. John Wilson Glory and Scandal , or in other words, Mary and John, two characters from the novel The Secret Lives of Sgt. John Wilson who fall in love but eventually end their relationship on a tragic note. Many events occurred through out the novel that caught my interest such as; the way they fell madly in love, the transition into John becoming more of a ghost than a husband, then a more twisted unforeseen plot that caught most readers entirely by surprise. The love affairs between the characters in the novel, plus the twists and turns you experience while reading is the main contributor as to why I love this book. Two polar opposites who started a life together, followed by scandal and deceit, then ended in a most unspeakable way. Mary Hutchinson was by far the most glorious and loving person through out the novel, and loved by all that knew her, We all loved one another but somehow every one of us had a special work with Polly. She was so bright and cheery and brave (Pg.7). She was a young seamstress who lived a simple life, making an honest living and was very close to her loving family. She had been pursued by her co worker the young Jack Wilson, who fall in love with her (or so she thought), but it was normal for people to be attracted to her beautiful nature. After years of courting they had finally gotten married and had children of their own, although the second would not be born until the father I say vaguely had left the country. This once highly sought after woman would now be left to care for two young children while her husband moved countries to find work (not to mention flee embarrassment). This was the moment that would change her life for the worst, only she hadn t known it yet. Jack Wilson, a name that once had meaning, but is now said with resentment, he had every opportunity to face his issues and make things right like any man should, especially whilst having a child and another on the way, even the idea of leaving caused some unhappy feedback Did you know he s thinking of running off to Canada? In this pathogen, the elaboration of virulence factors including melanin and the capsule depends on intact intracellular trafficking, an essential cellular process also required for nutrient uptake, ion homeostasis, and receptor recycling. Our previous studies have found that Cn evolves a cryptococcal intersectin (Cin1) regulated endocytic pathway essential for growth and virulence. We have also obtained evidence linking Cin1 to extracellular RNAthrough RNA Seq and to CNS survival through co infection of a mouse model of cryptococcosis. However, how Cin1 governs the transport network affecting... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Specifically, we will find if Cin1 orchestrates the only endocytic pathway and how it affects host parasite interaction through regulating exRNA transport and mouse CNS survival. We propose three specific aims: Aim 1 is to determine if Cin1 mediates the sole endocytic pathway in Cn through identification and characterization of pathway components. Aim 2 is to examine the role of Cin1 in exRNA export through continued annotation and analysis of RNA Seq data. Aim 3 is to further explore the CNS survival advantage of Cin1 S by generating the Cin1 L strain using one step CRISPR Cas9 mutagenesis method we recently developed and testing it through co infection. Our central hypothesis is that intracellular trafficking is important in pathogen growth and interaction with a host resulting pathogenesis (our long term goal). We propose those specific aims to test the hypothesis that Cn evolves a distinct Cin1 endocytic pathway necessary for pathogenesis (short term goal). Through studying a fundamental cellular process and its adaptation to pathogenesis of Cn, our investigation could lead to the discovery of novel antifungal targets. 2. The political mishaps that have occurred since JFK s presidency reshaped the American psyche of who the president should be. This chain of dissatisfaction with the federal government led the American people to hope for a president who is honest, free of corruption, and supportive of the middle class. Trump recognized the American need for a new kind of president and took on a persona that perfectly exemplified this. The Trump Mythology is the belief that Donald Trumpis a transparent, honest politician; however, this is only part of the equation. Belief in the Trump Mythology contributed to his victory, but it is also important to acknowledge the respective roles of demographics, voter turnout, and Hillary Clinton s flaws. An interesting difference between the Kennedy Mythology and the Trump Mythology that is worth noting is the role of the media. Throughout the Kennedy Era, popular media fed the people s fascination of Kennedy s Camelot, perpetuating the mythology. Donald Trump, however, was largely hated by popular culture. American media ultimately discounted Donald Trump as a viable contender for the presidency. After the treaty was signed, Iraq began nationwide elections which resulted in many political changes throughout the system, with many people stepping down from power. Now came the struggle for oil. During the rule of the ottoman empire, the Turkish Petroleum Company had the rights to all the oil in Mosul. In 1923, the british and iraqi governments began discussing a new distribution in oil. There was however a major obstacle, in that iraq was being stubborn and wanted to own over 20% of the company. Due to this, the league of nations took matters into their own hands. Since the british had lots of power in the league of nations, Iraq asked them to help in fear that turkey would win rights to the oil. The U.S. is ranked the highest paying health care system per capita out of 10 countries including, Australia and the Netherlands. We are also ranked worst in patient quality and outcome (Bernstein). Americans without health care are more prone to life threatening health problems and the life expectancy of an uninsured individual is about 60 years. Shorter life expectancies are due to health conditions such as high blood pressure and unhealthy lifestyles that could have been controlled if they had health insurance. Numerous health care reforms have been put into place to improve the system s efficiency. However, the reforms have made a weak impact on changing the system. The three major problems of the U.S. health care system are high cost, low accessibility, and poor patient quality and outcome. The biggest problem that the United States health care faces is the skyrocketing prices. The United States health care prices have been rising for decades and are still continuing to escalate. The U.S. has the highest health care prices in the world, even higher than other countries with impressive standards of living such as Germany, and the UK. Baal worship became abundant throughout much of the ancient Middle East; concurrently, in early societies Baal has a long history of perverted sex that is akin to Pan Worship within his cult rituals. • 54. Persuasive Essay On Happiness We live in America, a country that is rather prosperous in comparison to many other countries in the world. In order to get to where this country is today wars were started, people enslaved, and countries exploited. The greater majority s happiness was derived from another humans suffering. This has occurred throughout the majority of human history and continues into today s society. While we may see this as the wrong way to live we don t mind sustaining our prosperity. Just as Jesus Christ suffered for the sake of humanity s sins, much of what gives us happiness unmistakably generates affliction around the globe. Just as every action has an equal or opposite reaction, every choice has a repercussion whether we know it or not. Our world is reminiscent of a yin yang symbol, the white side representing our happiness and the black side the pain and suffering that got us there. By choosing our advantage over what is right, staying ignorant, and entanglement in consumerism our happiness is the offspring of despair somewhere in the world. We are all guilty of encountering happiness that was in some way the byproduct of someone s suffering. Whether we realize it or not does not mean we are not guilty of the same sin. For example, I went to a job interview a few months ago and there were two other gentlemen that were far more qualified than me interviewing as well. We all needed and wanted the job equally although the job was granted to me because I knew a general manager at the company. I chose success in exchange for the other gentlemen suffering a declined job offer. A lot of the time we don t even realize the suffering that our decisions cause or that suffering even occurred.
