Bison In The 19th Century
In spite of the Native Americans, Bison were hunted near extinction in the 19th century. Stats show
that bison population decreases in the late 1880s. They were hunted for fur, with the rest of the animal
left behind to decay in the ground. After they rotted their bones were found packaged and shipped
East. Main purpose the U.S. military hunted buffalo was to deprive Native Americans of food because
that was what they lived off of, also to clear the great plains and make space for railroads. In 2005
hunting buffalo became illegal, U.S. Senate offered each states American tribes two hunters license
each however if citizens are caught hunting Bison a reduced fee will be paid. Female buffalo are

Band Geeks
Lastly, many have heard the rumors about a pianist being smarter than a football player, making
athletes out to be incompetent and band geeks out to be weird but what if this was actually the case.
Of course athletes are not stupid and band geeks are not all weird and smart but studies show that
there may be a correlation. A fun fact that helps prove this study is that Condoleezza Rice was a
trained pianist. Multiple studies help link musical talent to academic achievement but why? This
correlation may seem like a coincidence but when interviewing top professionals in industries all
around the globe, all of them had serious pastimes that included music and almost all of them related
their previous musical achievements with their current career achievements. This idea goes beyond the
correlation of math and music as stated before. Many musicians, that are now high end business
owners, told this interviewer that music opened their creative pathway, allowing them to see more
clearly and create more of a creative environment for their mind to collaborate in. As many know,
creativity is a very large part of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A researcher says that music reinforces confidence and the ability to create and elaborate on new
ideas. Being a musician comes with having the confidence to show this to, if not one person, many.
Knowing this, musicians are no longer afraid to express their feelings or opinions in a larger crowd. In
movies, there is always a large table with many business men sitting around discussing ideas on how
to create a better business and the one that stands up, is the one that has the most confidence to do so.
Music raises the overall confidence a person has to stand up and make a difference, leading to key
business people. One business man will say that many years of practicing an instrument, drives the
desire for perfection, creating key business ideas and plans that can change an entire business level as

Cultural Culture In Kuwait
Introduction
The term culture is one of those words that we use routinely, but what is it exactly? Basically, culture
is the multipart overall of a society which includes everything that gives a society an identity. Culture
may consist of customs, languages, and religion beliefs amid other characteristics that are ordinary to
people of a nation/region. What is predominantly interesting about cultures is that each culture, no
matter where it is located, shares at least five basic characteristics. However, every culture has its own
distinct characteristics that differentiate it from the others. One of such cultures is the Kuwait culture.
This culture awareness essay will attempt to emphasis on cultural aspects of the people of Kuwait
while drawing your attention to the social culture annalists of Kuwait nation/region s physical
geography, current and passed military conflicts and their impact on the society, weather, and civil
concern.
The Kuwaiti culture is dominant in Kuwait where the people originate. They were primary drawn to
the Kuwait Bay region because of the resources from the sea, and majority of the population still lives
within a short distance of the first coastal colonies. Kuwait exists in the middle east which borders the
Persian Gulf, sandwiched between Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Kuwait have a unique culture since the
country was never colonized. Kuwaitis therefore have been left to manage their affairs among
themselves as they see if and develop their unique

How To Write An Essay About Herb s Vision
It all started with an individual vision that had to become a shared vision. Herb believed that we
needed to think out of the box, and needed to operate and function differently. There was a quote in
one of the articles that we had to read in class that was most relative to what Herb saw in the US
Olympic hockey program. In the article the head of HR at Adobe, Donna Morris stated that, It s a
process that looks in the rearview mirror, that s focused on what you ve done a year ago. The old
strategies were not working. The US team 4 years prior were embarrassed by a Czech B team getting
beat 15 1. He saw something that most others couldn t see, which is a unique trait, but is common in
great leaders. Through his transformational lens ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The board s vision and Herb s vision were different, and he had to gain their trust. I believe Herb s
idealized influence enabled him to initially speed up their trust with him, but this would seesaw
throughout the process. As the movie progresses, even though they had a short period of time to gain
trust with each other, it still was a long process. During the forming phase the players attempted to get
to know each other, but it was difficult, due to Herb s design of the team. The diversity of the team
caused intense conflict. This is exactly what Herb was looking to achieve. I believe Herb was trying to
create a toughness culture by creating conflict and having the specific diversity in this team triggered
this. The team was comprised of a lot of members from the University of Minnesota where Herb
coached, but there were also a few members from rival institutions Boston University, and the
University of New Hampshire. There were some unsettled scores, which forced the group from
forming to storming. It was between task conflict and relationship conflict, which kept them in the
storming phase for an extended period of

Madison s Four Lake Country
It is important to think critically about the context in which globalization begins and thrives,
especially in the minds of international scholars. The growth of Madison is a perfect example of
strategic creation through the use of undeveloped land in regards to local geography, society, and
interdependencies. Created from the ground up by three ambitious businessmen in the 1830s, Madison
started out as an iffy candidate for the busy urban center it is today. Based on the swamplands of
southern Wisconsin, Madison was called Four Lake Country and one of only two US cities to be
created on an isthmus (the other being Seattle, Washington). Throughout this essay the vital
characteristics that have contributed to the success of Madison as an urban

The Scientific Field Of Game Theory
The scientific field of game theory is the usage of mathematics to predict and analyze conflict,
cooperation, and behaviors of thinking people and the different strategies that can be applied in each
case. Using mathematical fields such as calculus, statistics, and others, people who study game theory
are able to formulate models and find the outcomes of a variety of different strategies. More
importantly, game theory is not limited to games such as chess or poker, but a wide variety of fields
including economics, computer science, biology and even political science. To understand why game
theory underlies these other fields, one must first understand what a game is.
A game is any situation that contains a set of players, a set of possible actions (strategies) for each
player, and a set of payoffs for each player resulting from the strategies chosen. This definition allows
almost any social situation to be classified as a game as different people perform actions resulting in a
benefit or loss for themselves. However, the key to any science is the ability to predict what would
happen next, and with game theory, players must be rational in order to achieve this. Needless to say,
very often, game theory fails to predict the true outcome of a given situation when put to practical
testing.
The field of game theory had existed for centuries, in a variety of forms, such as strategies for board
games or the battlefield. Even in Charles Darwin s book The Descent of Man

Generally, Badminton Club consists of 4 division, which are Competition , Training , Human
Resources , and Inventation Each division has its own unit. In total, Badminton has 8 units, which are
managed by the Board of Management.
In the author s perspectives, the way the organization is structured brings out some problems. For
example, their work didn t produce maximum results.

Cathedrals
Construction of cathedrals started around the 11 century. The first cathedrals were built in France and
later its style and architecture extended across Europe. During the medieval times people were going
through economic tribulations. There was absolutely no trade going and people where ingrained in the
manors they served. It was as if all that existed was just what was behind the castle walls. Until the
construction of cathedrals came forth this gave people faith and hope that their lives will prosper.
People traveled outside and went on pilgrimages to savor the elegant and massive cathedrals. Towns
were being established and the feudal system was diminishing. The towns offered freedom and job
opportunities for people so they set out to move ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

construction manager by the name of Master Guillaume who is responsible for many cathedrals that
have been built around France. Master Guillaume explains the foundations and structure of the
cathedral to Pierre and the Bishop and they are eager to begin construction and relish the holy
cathedral. Each and every year Pierre writes the advancements in the construction and says that the
cathedral will be a blessing by God. Years later Bishop Phillipe dies and the new Bishop Gervais

construction of the cathedral. During this time the construction problems arise because there is a
shortage of materials manly stones and there are now funds available. Members of the chapter
discover that Bishop Gervais is using funds for his personal use and plan on writing a letter to the
Pope about this matter. Bishop Gervais somehow finds out and gives funds to Master Guillaume for
stones but for low quality ones. Years pass and Pierre is now a Father Pierre. As the years go by the
characters grow older and Master Guillaume now supervises the construction of the cathedral from the
lower level. As Master Guillaume is in the lower level an accident occurs and part of the cathedral
collapses and Guillaume is killed by it. It is discovered that the cause of the accident was due to using

The Prisoner Of War Camps
Many citizens of the United States immediately after the Civil War knew very little of the atrocities of
that occurred in the prisoner of war camps. News that their family member was in a prisoner of war
camp was usually dreaded by the family of the captured soldiers. While being dead was much worse
the families never truly knew what was going on inside the camps. For the Confederacy, many feared
Rock Island, but there was a just as deadly camp just north of Rock Island in Chicago. Once the war
had ended the atrocities of what occurred inside the prisoner of war camps became apparent. Suddenly
multiple fingers were pointed at what was the culprit for such deplorable conditions. The pictures,
descriptions, and accounts of what happened inside the prisoner of war camps became a part of not
only history but the media as well. Multiple books were written about the prisoner of war camps,
several works of fiction reference the prisoner of war camps. Andersonville is almost unanimously
regarded as the worst camp for a Union soldier to get sent to. Rock Island seems to be the place that
many agree as the worst camp that a Confederate soldier could get sent to. Rock Island is even
mentioned in several works of fiction, including Gone With The Wind. In Gone With The Wind the
main character Scarlett O Hara s sister in law, Melanie Wilkes received a letter telling her that her
husband Ashley Wilkes had been captured and taken to a horrible place called Rock Island. However,

My Auntie Yumi s House Was A Place Of Refuge, My Favorite...
My Auntie Yumi s house was a place of refuge, my favorite place. My siblings and I spent a lot of
time there in the years our parents despised each other. We escaped my drunk, avoidant father for the
shade of the century old plumeria tree in Auntie Yumi s front yard. We recoiled from my mother s
violent, hate filled outbursts by retreating to Auntie Yumi s kitchen, where the screenless windows
welcomed cool breezes and feather light drizzle, and the smell of the mosquito punk smoldering under
the kitchen table was like a balm to our bruised minds.
Nearly half of all marriages in the United States end in divorce, but there s still a lot of stigma
surrounding post divorce parents and children. My parents prolonged their tumultuous relationship in
a misguided attempt to maintain a stable environment for their children, but our home life was
anything but stable. This resulted in my siblings and me living in an unhealthy environment that
caused more trauma than a divorce would have. It was my childhood mentor who helped me come to
grips with the guilt and shame associated with my parents breakup and embrace a different, but
healthier, family dynamic.
My Auntie Yumi, my other mother, is my best friend s mom. Petite, with sparkling upturned eyes, a
lilting Japanese accent, coarse graying hair cut short, and skin turned a dark caramel by days working
in the garden and tending to the animals on her little homestead, she is a life long learner who in her
forties picked up

Character Analysis Of Jake Grafton
Jake Grafton is the lead character in the Jake Grafton series of novels by American techno thriller
writer Stephen Coonts. The first novel in the Jake Grafton series was the 1986 published Flight of the
Intruder that received much critical acclaim and fast became an international bestseller.
The Jake Grafton series of novels feature Jake Cool Hand Grafton a young navy pilot that is an ace
pilot during the Vietnam War. Over the course of the series, he flies A 6s to drop bombs over the Viet
Cong before he graduates to working works for the CIA. Over the years, he rises through the ranks to
become a 2 star admiral.
The first novel in the series In Flight of the Intruder tells the story of Jake Grafton who flies an A 6
bomber during the Vietnam War. Based on an aircraft carrier Grafton often flies at night maneuvering
his plane past SAM missiles, and enemy flak on the Vietnamese mainland before making it back
home. As a Navy Pilot his emotions alternate between a lets win this war gung ho approach and
remorse at the possibly noncombatant Vietnamese victims on whom he is dropping the bombs.
Lashing out against the policy makers in the Navy back at home, Coonts offers deep insights into the
mindset of a fighter pilot. Painting a picture of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

On June 27, 1978, two Crow Indian brothers, Bobby and Tyler were killed by a 44 car Conrail freight

my opinion, I do not think Bobby and Tyler s death was not an accident because the story did not

Head Injuries In Football
Many people that play sports get into some type of injury, the majority of injuries sustained in sports
are usually head related. Football has about 118,886 injuries, basketball with 119,589 injuries, and
rugby with 1,214 injuries between the years of 2002 20014 and has continued to skyrocket. There are
difference between head injuries in football than when playing other sports. These differences can be
from minor, moderate, to sever. Football is more on the sever side because of the impact and number
of hits they are taking. On the other hand sports like basketball, soccer, and tennis are not as of
aggressive as football. And this is due to the lack of contact in the sports. These sports are very strict
about the contact when playing in a game, they are charged with a penalty or flagged if a player makes
the slightest contact with another player. Therefore you would rarely see a head injury let alone a sever
head injury when playing those kind of sports. With football being more aggressive and more contact,
the head injuries can lead to a player being hospitalized, and depending on the impact on the blow can
lead to death. When playing sports there are many different types of injuries. There are multiple ways
an injuring can happen and how it affects the players. Most importantly each injury should be treated
different depending on how bad the damage is. The most common head injury is known as a
concussion; a concussion is whne the brain bounces against the walls of

Getty Museum Vs. A Walk At Dusk
Connected in Origin, but Different in Approach Art is not only about what you see, it s about what you
feel when you look at it. Walking through a museum, it s like walking through emotions. There are so
many different feelings and emotions you get depending on the work of art you re experiencing. Both
works of arts I got to experience at the Getty museum were very interesting and unique. The first work
of art was A Walk at Dusk (1830 1835) by German artist Caspar David Friedrich. Its medium was oil
on canvas with dimensions of 33.3 x 43.7 cm. The second work of art was Mornington Crescent with
the Statue of Sickert s Father in law, 1966 by German artist Frank Auerbach. Its medium was also oil
but on a Masonite attached to auxiliary wooden framework with dimensions of 122 x 152.5 cm. At a
first look both paintings seem extremely different but when you look closer, deep in their core they are
quite similar. Both paintings depict a really meaningful place, but in A Walk at Dusk the place is ...

A Walk at Dusk is a very small painting so you experience it more at a personal level. One must be
really close to it to appreciate it s detail. It s a more inviting painting, which makes sense since it s
more of a spiritual connection the viewers will have with it. On the opposite the Mornington Crescent
is a bigger painting and it s also intimidating when looking at it. You don t really want to or have to
get close to it. The vibrant and intense colors make it more uncomfortable for the viewer. This might
be done so that the viewers can physically feel what s happening in the scene, it s not really a place
one wants to be at. The emotions these paintings evoke were very similar. In both painting s you see
themes of darkness and pain. Both portrayed very melancholic events of suffering and sorrow yet in
both you get this small but significant sense of hope that it s the take away

Film Festival At Antelope Valley College
Title Undetermined
When taking a look at the extensive list of films I decided to pick and choose from a date range and
genre range. I wanted to not only focus on one area of film, but also on different aspects across the
board stylistically and ...... Some of the films I chose because they were tried and true favourites of
mine, and some I chose because I had never heard of them before. I wanted to comfort and challenge
myself at the same time while taking into consideration what may work best for the theoretical Film
Festival at Antelope Valley College. When I think of Film Festivals I think of a presentation to help
entice the psyche toward a more progressive thought process. Films need to make the audience stop
and think for a little bit afterward, there needs to be a pause, a moment of huh... , even if brief. It needs
to be something different, something unusual. Film Festivals shouldn t be for standard films, they
shouldn t be for the mass marketed and well known. So as much as I loved, Star Wars for example, I
knew it was less than ideal for this situation. This assignment also gave me the opportunity to reassess
the validity of some films that I thought I had liked but upon second analysis, might not hold in such
high regard. In the end the films I chose are Juno, High Noon, The King s Speech, Exit Through the
Gift Shop, Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, and Apocalypse
Now. The Lancaster and the Antelope Valley area in general

Charges of workplace discrimination is said to be at an all time high. During the 2015 fiscal year the
U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity released information that claims there were more than 89,000
charges filed for workplace discrimination. One of the top ten charges is said to be retaliation, which
had an estimate 39,757 cases in 2015, which is 44.5 percent of all charges filed. Retaliation is said to
be in violation of the Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, For the purpose of this research paper I

Leonardo s Notebooks
People from around the globe easily recognize the phenomenal work of Leonardo da Vinci. Perhaps
the most famous of all his work is the Mona Lisa, with an impressive six million annual visitors.
Incidentally, there is an abundance of works by Leonardo da Vinci that the majority of people have yet
to even hear about. Admittedly, these works were not created with the intent of being seen outside the
artist s studio, but rather to aid in his critical thinking process. These works are mostly comprised of
drawings. Studies for a Nativity is one such exquisitive yet commonly unrecognizable drawing which
greatly helped Leonardo da Vinci in his critical thinking process.
Studies for a Nativity is one of many drawings that can be found within Leonardo s hundreds of
notebooks. Perhaps in this way Leonardo had an advantage to past artists. To clarify, possessing such a
large quantity of notebooks was almost unheard of a century prior. This is because paper had only
recently become easier to attain. Prior to the widespread availability of paper artists were often forced
to use prepared animal skins, tablets, or they made ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Genetic Factors of Learning Disabilities Essay
The National Institute of Neurologic Disorders defines learning disorders as a; condition that either
prevents or significantly hinders somebody from learning basic skills or information at the same rate
as most people of the same age. It is important to note that this does not mean that the individual has
less intelligence; it means that their brain or body is wired in a way that hinders or prevents
development of a certain tasks. Many people often confuse learning disabilities with mental
retardation but while both words describe similar conditions, the term learning disability and learning

The roots of learning disabilities have been debated for ages. There is a general consensus that both
genetics and environment play hand in hand in learning and general temperament formation but the
extant of each is debatable. This led me to my central question of what extent has current genetic
research proved regarding the role of genes in the development of learning disorders. I am interested
in what genetically linked disorders are most prevalent in school aged children and plan to detail the
signs and symptoms of the three most prevalent disorders and the current believe about their causes at

In Better Planet Garbage Patch , Thomas Kostigen tells his experience of traveling to the Eastern
Garbage Patch to witness this growing problem first hand. Kostigen describes this area to be one and a

Essay On The Spanish American War
Voting Crisis 6 ~ The Sinking of the Maine, Yellow Journalism, and the Start of the Spanish American
War Concerning the sixth crisis involving the actions leading up to the Spanish American War, we, as
Western Homesteaders, opposed the war, as elongated conflict is a burden to the economy.
Furthermore, we do not believe that the Maine was sunk by Spanish ships, as the cause of destruction

A Energy Source For The State Of Florida
Purpose
The purpose of this report is to inform you of a suitable energy source to meet the projected demands
of the state of Florida for the next ten years. I recommend a hybrid plant that uses both solar energy
and natural gas. I am certain that a hybrid plant is the most suitable energy source for the State of
Florida for the next 10 years.
Statistics
Florida s Statistics
Florida Public Service Commission reports that as of 2014, natural gas generates 58.89%, or the
majority of Florida s energy (2). Coal is the second most prevalent type of energy generation in
Florida, according to Florida Public Service Commission, generating 21.33% of the state s energy (2).
Nuclear power generates 12.43% of Florida s energy (Florida Public Service Commission 2). Energy
generation by oil and renewable fuel types are nearly nonexistent, together these sources only generate

Public Service Commission, other sources only generate 5.75% of the state s energy (2).
Florida Public Service Commission forecasts from current trends that by 2024 the use of
environmentally harmful energy sources such as coal, nuclear power, and oil will decrease (2). The
use of natural gas is forecasted to rise to generate 64.73% of Florida s energy (Florida Public Service

Reasons Why Golf Is A Real Sport
Screams of the crowd fill the air as the competitors take their positions. Armed with nothing but a
rope, these gladiators will fight to the death until victory has been achieved. The whistle blows and
combat has begun; both teams of 5 pull with all their might, attempting to overpower the other. The
flag (a flag tied to the middle of the rope) teeters between both goal lines, anxiously awaiting its final
position. This ritual of physical domination continues until the flag finds its resting place past the goal
line on the right side of the lawn; SAE (Sigma Alpha Epsilon) has defeated LXA (Lambda Chi Alpha)

Compare and Contrast Essay on King Lear and Macbeth
Shakespeare had written many plays in his life time, some of them included various tragedies which
included King Lear and Macbeth. All of Shakespeare s plays had a theme which was used to help the
story s plot to advance further, making events much more interesting. King Lear and Macbeth both
have a common theme of madness that is apparent throughout the play which has been depicted
differently. They are both written in different ways but still share a same purpose. The essay will be
broken down into three parts; firstly we will look at the way madness is viewed in Macbeth. Secondly,
we will look at the way King Lear portrays madness lastly we will compare the two to see how
differently madness is displayed. While both plays share this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Ross responds to him,
What sights, my lord (III.iii.118).
The Insanity of Macbeth is shown in these quotes. Shakespeare s description of Macbeth s thoughts
visibly reveals the theme of madness.
Shakespeare portrays madness among many of his characters, and he returns to the theme again and
again. Indirect characterization in the form of Lear s mad speeches allows Shakespeare to convey the
theme of madness. For example one of Lear s first speeches after things started to go bad for him,
Poor naked wretches, wheresoe er you are, That bide the pelting of this pitiless storm, How shall your
house hold heads and unfed sides, Your loop d and window d rag gedness, defend you... (III.iv.35 38).
Lear s insanity increases throughout the play, demonstrated to the audience through more speeches,
until his emotions overthrow his reason at the climax of the play. Lear randomly shouts in to the
storm,
Rumble thy bellyfull! Spit, fire! Spout, rain! Nor rain, wind, thunder, fire are my daughters. I tax not
you, you elements, with unkindness. I never gave you kingdom, called you children (III.ii.14 17).

The Importance Of Eugenics In Modern Science
Understanding human genetics and makeup in modern science has aided in preventing inheritable
diseases and defects. What if the science is used to eradicate undesirable populations of people based
on their color, financial status, having children out of wedlock, disabled or mentally ill?
Eugenics, a commonly acceptable means if protecting society from the off spring of individuals
deemed inferior or dangerous, sought to improve the quality of human genetic qualities (Ko, 2016).
The poor, disabled, mentally ill, criminals and people of color were all considered inferior or
dangerous. The thought behind eugenics was to prevent persons with undesirable traits to reproduce
and allow the possibility of their undesirable genetics to be passed on to their offspring. The 1927 U.S.
Supreme Court Case Buck v. Bell was based on a poor white woman, Carrie Buck, who was the first
person to be sterilized in Virginia, under the Virginia Eugenical Sterilization Act, signed into act in
1924 (Ko, 2016). Eugenics relates to the modern biological theories of criminality. Biosocial
criminology sees the interaction between biological and the physical and social environments as key
to understanding human behavior (Schmalleger, 2016). The perspective of biosocial criminology
theory includes: genetics, heritability, hormones and brain dysfunction (Schmalleger, 2016).
The popularity of eugenics spread through the U.S. during the late 1800 s and early 1900 s (Biological
Theories, n.d.). Positive and

Character s Exploration in The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz and King Lear The right way is not
always the popular and easy way. Standing for right when it is unpopular is a true test of moral
character. These lines from Margaret Chase Smith force us to think about what the actual test for
morality is. Morality cannot be solely judged based on the deeds a person has committed, but when
the person shows enough courage to stand against the mob and support the right. Both Richler and

Lear s main motive was the same, still they differ in behavior and has a different impact on others.
Duddy is working towards the acquiring the land and starting his apprenticeship. Throughout the
course of the novel Duddy has been seeing manipulating other, whether it was Yvette, Virgil, Mr.

Causes And Differences Of Medieval Society In Modern Society
Modern society is inarguably different from medieval communities, quite frankly it would be
terrifying if they were exactly the same. Contemporary culture, in general, is not wholeheartedly
focused on the journey to salvation/ religious causes as was more common in medieval communities.
Communication, technology and education have broadened the scope of human activity and
opportunities. As far as declining religion and social hierarchy, it remains debatable whether it is a
cause or effect of modern technology. Though because humans are creatures of habit and conservative
as far as change, religious tradition and teachings remain embedded in many communities. Despite
similarities based on tradition and inherited values, modern society differs in driving forces and
religious prevalence due to a developed and educated environment.
One of the most obvious differences between the two time periods is the presence of a social
hierarchy. Though it would be naive to say that modern society flourishes with equality and
opportunity for all, equality is at least somewhat attempted by many societies. Medieval communities
justified opportunity difference with what they called the feudal system. This dictated education and
position in regard to other people. Most medieval people believed that God dictated a person position
in society and that is where they were meant to stay, as opposed to the modern idea of moving up
based on merit (or connections). As far as modern people, there is

Why Did Europeans Expand Into America, Africa and Asia...
During the sixteenth century expansion became a key theme across the face of Early Modern Europe;
this caused the sixteenth century to acquire the retrospective name of the Age of Expansion or Age of

this period can be explained in terms of three major symptoms: overseas discovery, population growth
and price inflation all of which are tied together in a complex multiplicity making in difficult to isolate
one symptom from the others. Alongside these three key factors is another two factors, Emperor

As Prince Henry held the true Christian conquistador spirit there was a third element to his African

Essay about William Faulkner s As I Lay Dying
William Faulkner s As I Lay Dying
In William Faulkner s novel, As I Lay Dying many points of view are expressed through the use of
interior monologue, but even when they are all put together, they can t serve as an objective view of
what really happened. In the book, there are many monologues by many different people, often with
opposing ideas and beliefs. Together the novel is a book of half truths, with each set of events formed
by what the narrator believes is the truth. To each individual what they say and think they consider a
reality, however, it is merely their own perception of reality and consequently it becomes subjective.

The reader can t gain an objective idea of what really happened during that period of time. Another
example of an actual incident and of people s opposing views coming into conflict with the reality of
what was going on was with Cora and Darl. He did not answer. He just stood and looked at his dying
mother, his heart too full for words (Faulkner 24 25). This is how Cora views Darl, as a kind and
loving son, the private favorite and love of Addie. Darl however, appears to be indifferent to his
mother and the three dollar load. Everyone else knows that Jewel is, in fact, the favorite child; this
makes the characters unreliable in retelling the actual events to the reader. Each monologue is clouded
with the viewpoints and ideas of the character narrating it, so it is impossible to have an objective
account of what really happened. Using the form that Faulkner uses we can also see that while Darl
narrates many chapters in the novel, and is viewed as the most reliable character, this idea is ruined
when he is sent to an asylum. Darl has gone to Jackson. They put him on the train, laughing, down the
long car laughing; the heads turn like the heads of owls when he passed (Faulkner 254). In Darl s final

The events/causes that led up to the devaluation of the peso

It should be noted, prior to the crisis, there was already an increasing concern of economists and
critics about the credit quality that was provided by the financial sector at the time when there was low
interest rates that were applied by the government. There were also issues about the inappropriateness
or ineffectiveness of the standards that were used in extending credit by the financial sector (Calvo,
171).
Another important factor that affected the financial sector and would eventually contribute to the
development of the Mexican Peso Crisis was that the risk premium of the Mexican economy was
significantly impacted by the armed conflicts that happened in Chiapas at that time. This armed
conflict led to a decline in investor confidence about business in Mexico, such that there was a decline
in the investment potential of the region (Mathur, 18).
In addition, in the decade leading to 1994, the government saw an increasing expenditure for various
projects in the country. The result was an increased reduction in the funds of the government. Another
more important factor was that the country experienced hyperinflation from 1985 through 1993. This
period was also characterized by significant increases in debt loads of the financial sector, as well as
the low oil prices that also contributed to the weakening of the Mexican economy (Mathur, 18). One

The Space Of Space Exploration Essay
Introduction
One of the greatest unknowns within our human existence is life outside of our known universe;
decades of research, teamwork and funding have manifested phenomenal scientific triumphs in the
fields of space exploration and aeronautics. The forefront of this Space Race arguably began with the
Sputnik, a Russian artificial satellite launched in the late 1950 s. Following the launch of Sputnik 1,
the genesis of American competitive space exploration built roots in the formation of NASA under the
Presidency of Dwight D. Eisenhower. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration was
founded in 1958 under a premise of competitive space exploration and continued discovery of truths
residing outside of our existence on planet Earth. NASA externally competes with other teams of
space explorers, which primarily includes Russia s Federal Space Agency, commonly called
Roscosmos. However, moving away from Cold War competitiveness and the race to build the biggest
and best rockets, NASA has fostered over fifty years worth of the most fortified and cohesive
teamwork in the fields of science and aerospace engineering.
The unwavering cohesion of NASA engineers, scientists and explorers has exclusively demanded the
best and brightest to work on their teams. External pressures both on and off of the deployed NASA
spacecraft render their employees to work with the strongest teamwork achievable between their
highly diverse team members. NASA continues to recruit

Pollution Of Beachwater
Beach vacations are an annual summer event for many families. But beachgoers at polluted beaches
around the country may bring back an unwanted souvenir from their trip: ear infections, stomach flu,
skin rashes, and other illnesses that are caused by polluted beachwater.
To help keep our beaches clean, NRDC supports improved beachwater testing to detect the pathogens
that can cause health problems in swimmers.
Bills now pending in Congress would provide funding for much needed beach cleanup efforts and
help ensure that the public is notified promptly when beaches are unsafe for swimming. These bills
will help make sure that our beaches are safe for swimming every day.
Polluted Beaches Can Cause Health
Problems for Swimmers
Beach closings and advisories are at a record high in U.S. coastal waters because of beachwater
contamination from human and animal waste. When it rains, untreated sewage and contaminated
stormwater flow into beachwaters from overflowing sewers, stormwater pipes, and treatment plant
bypasses, carrying human waste, animal waste, trash, and other bacteria laden discharges into the
water where it can make swimmers sick.
The most common health impact of this contamination is severe stomach upset, but swimmers can
also get earaches, pinkeye, respiratory ailments, and even very serious illnesses like meningitis and
hepatitis. Often swimmers don t realize that their illness was contracted while swimming at a
contaminated beach.
Small children, the elderly, pregnant women, and cancer patients and others with weakened immune
systems are most at risk for illness caused by contaminated beachwater. According to the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, children under the age of nine had more reports of
diarrhea and vomiting from exposure to waterborne parasites than any other age group

Examples Of Leadership In Animal Farm By George Orwell
An Inept Leader: Calamity for a Nation and its People The state of a nation primarily reflects the
strength and aptness of its leader; a weak leader submits their nation into an abysmal state, whereas a
great one promotes progress. In Orwell s novella, Animal Farm, the animals of inferior intelligence
comply with their vehement leader, Napoleon, who initially demonstrates strong qualities as a leader.
However, Napoleon s leadership succumbs to corruption as he gradually implements unprincipled
authoritarian rules that primarily benefit the pigs at the expense of the working class. Similarly, past
leaders have displayed abuse of power for personal gain. Through his accurate incorporation of Czar
Nicholas II s traits into Napoleon s disposition, Orwell articulates how negligent leadership
jeopardizes a nation and its citizens, such as Turkmenistan under Saparmurad Niyazov s reign. Czar
Nicholas II crippled Russia by misusing his power in authority: he disregarded the harsh working
conditions and poor health of his citizens and sought control through violent means. Under his reign,

The Relationship Between Parent And Family
Parent s: The first step to ensuring your child s safety outside of the home is establishing a healthy
family dynamic based around mutual trust and reliance on each other, to an extent. When you and
your child have a relationship between yourselves that is healthy, you ensure that your child feels safe
in the place that matters most; in their home. When a child feels safe in their home, among their
family, then they are more likely to feel the can communicate when there is something happening in
their lives outside the home that is bothering them or can prove harmful. Without this healthy
dynamic, your child may withhold important information from you that could end up causing a drastic
change in your child s wellbeing.
As important as open communication is between parent and child, it is equally as important to set a
solid set of rules for your child to follow. For example, younger children may not be allowed to cross
the street or leave the yard without an adult with them. Without solid rules for children to follow, then
the relationship between child and parent becomes too lax, and there is no sense of respect of child to
parent. Without a sense of mutual respect between parent and child, the child will then feel that their
parent has no knowledge of what is best for them; even though the rules their parent may try to
enforce rules that are in their best interest to follow.
As far as setting rules and punishments for your child, the ramifications should evolve as the

They were hunted for fur, with the rest of the animal left behind to decay in the ground. After they rotted their bones were found packaged and shipped East. Of course athletes are not stupid and band geeks are not all weird and smart but studies show that there may be a correlation. A fun fact that helps prove this study is that Condoleezza Rice was a trained pianist. Multiple studies help link musical talent to academic achievement but why? • 5. How To Write An Essay About Herb s Vision It all started with an individual vision that had to become a shared vision. Herb believed that we needed to think out of the box, and needed to operate and function differently. There was a quote in one of the articles that we had to read in class that was most relative to what Herb saw in the US Olympic hockey program. In the article the head of HR at Adobe, Donna Morris stated that, It s a process that looks in the rearview mirror, that s focused on what you ve done a year ago. The old strategies were not working. The US team 4 years prior were embarrassed by a Czech B team getting beat 15 1. He saw something that most others couldn t see, which is a unique trait, but is common in great leaders. During the forming phase the players attempted to get to know each other, but it was difficult, due to Herb s design of the team. The diversity of the team caused intense conflict. This is exactly what Herb was looking to achieve. I believe Herb was trying to create a toughness culture by creating conflict and having the specific diversity in this team triggered this. The team was comprised of a lot of members from the University of Minnesota where Herb coached, but there were also a few members from rival institutions Boston University, and the University of New Hampshire. There were some unsettled scores, which forced the group from forming to storming. • 7. The Scientific Field Of Game Theory The scientific field of game theory is the usage of mathematics to predict and analyze conflict, cooperation, and behaviors of thinking people and the different strategies that can be applied in each case. Using mathematical fields such as calculus, statistics, and others, people who study game theory are able to formulate models and find the outcomes of a variety of different strategies. More importantly, game theory is not limited to games such as chess or poker, but a wide variety of fields including economics, computer science, biology and even political science. To understand why game theory underlies these other fields, one must first understand what a game is. A game is any situation that contains a set of players, a set of possible actions (strategies) for each player, and a set of payoffs for each player resulting from the strategies chosen. This definition allows almost any social situation to be classified as a game as different people perform actions resulting in a benefit or loss for themselves. However, the key to any science is the ability to predict what would happen next, and with game theory, players must be rational in order to achieve this. Needless to say, very often, game theory fails to predict the true outcome of a given situation when put to practical testing. The field of game theory had existed for centuries, in a variety of forms, such as strategies for board games or the battlefield. Even in Charles Darwin s book The Descent of Man ... Football has about 118,886 injuries, basketball with 119,589 injuries, and rugby with 1,214 injuries between the years of 2002 20014 and has continued to skyrocket. There are difference between head injuries in football than when playing other sports. These differences can be from minor, moderate, to sever. Football is more on the sever side because of the impact and number of hits they are taking. On the other hand sports like basketball, soccer, and tennis are not as of aggressive as football. And this is due to the lack of contact in the sports. These sports are very strict about the contact when playing in a game, they are charged with a penalty or flagged if a player makes the slightest contact with another player. Therefore you would rarely see a head injury let alone a sever head injury when playing those kind of sports. With football being more aggressive and more contact, the head injuries can lead to a player being hospitalized, and depending on the impact on the blow can lead to death. When playing sports there are many different types of injuries. There are multiple ways an injuring can happen and how it affects the players. The thought behind eugenics was to prevent persons with undesirable traits to reproduce and allow the possibility of their undesirable genetics to be passed on to their offspring. The 1927 U.S. Supreme Court Case Buck v. Bell was based on a poor white woman, Carrie Buck, who was the first person to be sterilized in Virginia, under the Virginia Eugenical Sterilization Act, signed into act in 1924 (Ko, 2016). Eugenics relates to the modern biological theories of criminality. Biosocial criminology sees the interaction between biological and the physical and social environments as key to understanding human behavior (Schmalleger, 2016). The perspective of biosocial criminology theory includes: genetics, heritability, hormones and brain dysfunction (Schmalleger, 2016). The popularity of eugenics spread through the U.S. during the late 1800 s and early 1900 s (Biological Theories, n.d.). Positive and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Standing for right when it is unpopular is a true test of moral character. These lines from Margaret Chase Smith force us to think about what the actual test for morality is. Morality cannot be solely judged based on the deeds a person has committed, but when the person shows enough courage to stand against the mob and support the right. • 32. Causes And Differences Of Medieval Society In Modern Society Modern society is inarguably different from medieval communities, quite frankly it would be terrifying if they were exactly the same. Contemporary culture, in general, is not wholeheartedly focused on the journey to salvation/ religious causes as was more common in medieval communities. Communication, technology and education have broadened the scope of human activity and opportunities. As far as declining religion and social hierarchy, it remains debatable whether it is a cause or effect of modern technology. Though because humans are creatures of habit and conservative as far as change, religious tradition and teachings remain embedded in many communities. Despite similarities based on tradition and inherited values, modern society differs in driving forces and religious prevalence due to a developed and educated environment. One of the most obvious differences between the two time periods is the presence of a social hierarchy. Though it would be naive to say that modern society flourishes with equality and opportunity for all, equality is at least somewhat attempted by many societies. Medieval communities justified opportunity difference with what they called the feudal system. This dictated education and position in regard to other people. Most medieval people believed that God dictated a person position in society and that is where they were meant to stay, as opposed to the modern idea of moving up based on merit (or connections). During the sixteenth century expansion became a key theme across the face of Early Modern Europe; this caused the sixteenth century to acquire the retrospective name of the Age of Expansion or Age of Discovery. Essay about William Faulkner s As I Lay Dying William Faulkner s As I Lay Dying In William Faulkner s novel, As I Lay Dying many points of view are expressed through the use of interior monologue, but even when they are all put together, they can t serve as an objective view of what really happened. In the book, there are many monologues by many different people, often with opposing ideas and beliefs. Together the novel is a book of half truths, with each set of events formed by what the narrator believes is the truth. The reader can t gain an objective idea of what really happened during that period of time. Another example of an actual incident and of people s opposing views coming into conflict with the reality of what was going on was with Cora and Darl. He did not answer. He just stood and looked at his dying mother, his heart too full for words (Faulkner 24 25). This is how Cora views Darl, as a kind and loving son, the private favorite and love of Addie. Darl however, appears to be indifferent to his mother and the three dollar load. Everyone else knows that Jewel is, in fact, the favorite child; this makes the characters unreliable in retelling the actual events to the reader. Each monologue is clouded with the viewpoints and ideas of the character narrating it, so it is impossible to have an objective account of what really happened. Using the form that Faulkner uses we can also see that while Darl narrates many chapters in the novel, and is viewed as the most reliable character, this idea is ruined when he is sent to an asylum. There were also issues about the inappropriateness or ineffectiveness of the standards that were used in extending credit by the financial sector (Calvo, 171). Another important factor that affected the financial sector and would eventually contribute to the development of the Mexican Peso Crisis was that the risk premium of the Mexican economy was significantly impacted by the armed conflicts that happened in Chiapas at that time. This armed conflict led to a decline in investor confidence about business in Mexico, such that there was a decline in the investment potential of the region (Mathur, 18). In addition, in the decade leading to 1994, the government saw an increasing expenditure for various projects in the country. The result was an increased reduction in the funds of the government. Another more important factor was that the country experienced hyperinflation from 1985 through 1993. This period was also characterized by significant increases in debt loads of the financial sector, as well as the low oil prices that also contributed to the weakening of the Mexican economy (Mathur, 18). The Space Of Space Exploration Essay Introduction One of the greatest unknowns within our human existence is life outside of our known universe; decades of research, teamwork and funding have manifested phenomenal scientific triumphs in the fields of space exploration and aeronautics. The forefront of this Space Race arguably began with the Sputnik, a Russian artificial satellite launched in the late 1950 s. Following the launch of Sputnik 1, the genesis of American competitive space exploration built roots in the formation of NASA under the Presidency of Dwight D. Eisenhower. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration was founded in 1958 under a premise of competitive space exploration and continued discovery of truths residing outside of our existence on planet Earth. NASA externally competes with other teams of space explorers, which primarily includes Russia s Federal Space Agency, commonly called Roscosmos. However, moving away from Cold War competitiveness and the race to build the biggest and best rockets, NASA has fostered over fifty years worth of the most fortified and cohesive teamwork in the fields of science and aerospace engineering. The unwavering cohesion of NASA engineers, scientists and explorers has exclusively demanded the best and brightest to work on their teams. But beachgoers at polluted beaches around the country may bring back an unwanted souvenir from their trip: ear infections, stomach flu, skin rashes, and other illnesses that are caused by polluted beachwater. To help keep our beaches clean, NRDC supports improved beachwater testing to detect the pathogens that can cause health problems in swimmers. Bills now pending in Congress would provide funding for much needed beach cleanup efforts and help ensure that the public is notified promptly when beaches are unsafe for swimming. These bills will help make sure that our beaches are safe for swimming every day. Polluted Beaches Can Cause Health Problems for Swimmers Beach closings and advisories are at a record high in U.S. coastal waters because of beachwater contamination from human and animal waste. When it rains, untreated sewage and contaminated stormwater flow into beachwaters from overflowing sewers, stormwater pipes, and treatment plant bypasses, carrying human waste, animal waste, trash, and other bacteria laden discharges into the water where it can make swimmers sick. The most common health impact of this contamination is severe stomach upset, but swimmers can also get earaches, pinkeye, respiratory ailments, and even very serious illnesses like meningitis and hepatitis. Often swimmers don t realize that their illness was contracted while swimming at a contaminated beach. Small children, the elderly, pregnant women, and cancer patients and others with weakened immune systems are most at risk for illness caused by contaminated beachwater. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, children under the age of nine had more reports of diarrhea and vomiting from exposure to waterborne parasites than any other age group Government Activity Can Help Keep Our Shorelines Clean In 2000, Congress passed the Shorelines Natural Appraisal and Beach front Wellbeing (Shoreline) Act, which gave government reserves to state and neighborhood organizations to set up beachwater observing and open warning projects. Examples Of Leadership In Animal Farm By George Orwell An Inept Leader: Calamity for a Nation and its People The state of a nation primarily reflects the strength and aptness of its leader; a weak leader submits their nation into an abysmal state, whereas a great one promotes progress. In Orwell s novella, Animal Farm, the animals of inferior intelligence comply with their vehement leader, Napoleon, who initially demonstrates strong qualities as a leader. However, Napoleon s leadership succumbs to corruption as he gradually implements unprincipled authoritarian rules that primarily benefit the pigs at the expense of the working class. Similarly, past leaders have displayed abuse of power for personal gain. Through his accurate incorporation of Czar Nicholas II s traits into Napoleon s disposition, Orwell articulates how negligent leadership jeopardizes a nation and its citizens, such as Turkmenistan under Saparmurad Niyazov s reign. • 43. The Relationship Between Parent And Family Parent s: The first step to ensuring your child s safety outside of the home is establishing a healthy family dynamic based around mutual trust and reliance on each other, to an extent. When you and your child have a relationship between yourselves that is healthy, you ensure that your child feels safe in the place that matters most; in their home. When a child feels safe in their home, among their family, then they are more likely to feel the can communicate when there is something happening in their lives outside the home that is bothering them or can prove harmful. Without this healthy dynamic, your child may withhold important information from you that could end up causing a drastic change in your child s wellbeing. As important as open communication is between parent and child, it is equally as important to set a solid set of rules for your child to follow. For example, younger children may not be allowed to cross the street or leave the yard without an adult with them. Without solid rules for children to follow, then the relationship between child and parent becomes too lax, and there is no sense of respect of child to parent. Without a sense of mutual respect between parent and child, the child will then feel that their parent has no knowledge of what is best for them; even though the rules their parent may try to enforce rules that are in their best interest to follow.
