The Philosophical Perspective The mind body connection alludes to the affinity between the mind
and body, specifically in matters of health and well being. It is founded on the notion that an

The world is a hungry place. It s hungry for love, hungry for passion, hungry for money and
hungry for work. But more than anything, it s hungry for food. People are starving around the
globe while the rest of us live a comfortable existence. Several companies have used their
scientific expertise to genetically modify seeds to increase crop yields in an attempt to feed the
masses and end world hunger. Can they do it? In the short run, yes they can, but it is important to

known about the Sumerian culture, archaeologists have unearthed ancient artifacts and clay tablets

Each of the Sumerian cities had a premier god that was worshipped above the others. Although
the sky god was the supreme god, it was not the most worshipped in all cities. This premier god
tied to the successes of the city as well as its fortunes, and was even thought to protect the city
from harm. The deity would be worshipped in a tall pyramid (also known as a ziggurat), which
was built in the center of the city, often on a hill or platform. This is identical to how the Greeks
would build temples in honor of their city s major deity. For example, the Parthenos (Temple of

mythology, Athena and another god Poseidon were in competition to see who would gain

Pharmacist Accomplishments
Last week, I had the privilege of listening to Dr. Phil Schneider, the director of pharmacy at the
Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas. Dr. Schneider s lecture reemphasized the need for students
to consider residency programs after graduating from the Doctor of Pharmacy program (PharmD).
As a third year pharmacystudent, I have heard so much about how residency could make me an
outstanding pharmacist, but never took it seriously. However, hearing it directly from a director of
pharmacy that residency will get me the job, promotion and networking opportunities after
graduation has rekindled my interest in doing residency. Since the inception of my pharmacy
program, I have never given doing a residency program the consideration I have given... Show more
Dr. Schneider spoke about how he succeeded his boss after she left for another job offer because
his employers considered him better trained and equipped for the job as a result of doing a
residency. For a pharmacist who just started working without any prior residency training, the

knowing? And herein lies the beginning of the investigation Whitman undertakes through his poetry.
The first four lines describe the experience the speaker had while in the lecture room. They don t

The Nazi regime used propaganda posters to primarily expose the German people to a new way
of thinking. In charge of distributing and overseeing the creation of a majority of the
propagandist posters was Dr. Paul Joseph Goebbels. Born in Rheydt, Germany he created and
ran the Third Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda. There, his goal was to
play upon the hopes, fears, and frustrations of the German people. Then, he wished to harness
those same emotions to spark a German movement and war. Goebbels believed that the written
word, instead of the spoke word, was responsible or countless great events in history. In his
posters he hoped that: Today every German soldier, worker, and pleasant knows what we are
fighting for. This is not a war for thorn and altar; it is a war for wheat and bread, for a full table
three times a day, a war of achievement of material means necessary for a solution of the social
question. There was fire in his blood, and it would end up clearly manifesting in his work on
propaganda posters. Initially Nazi propagandists used niche marketing to connect their posters to
all aspects of German life. Under niche marketing, they concentrated their efforts on smaller, yet
influential groups of people. Some examples included woman working in homes, farmers, factory
