Haitian Culture Vs American Culture
Strength lies in differences, not in similarities Stephen R Covery. Living in two different countries is
an experience that is likely to open anyone mind. One raised in a smaller country, then moved to a
larger country mixed with multiple culture is an experience not to be taking for granted. Full of
hardships. Yet, despite lacking in the modern luxuries that are readily available in the United States,
they also live a vibrant life full of flavorful food, music, dance, ritual and celebration. There are many
differences in the way Haitians live in Haiti versus in America, including school, work, transportation,
and environment and while not all of these differences are negative, it is obvious that the great

They use the same method of cooking from our Taino descends. In the Haitian culture there s a lot of
variety of food but most of the time they boiled them before consumed. They are using spicy in their
recipe just to make the food last longer because some of the people do not have a refrigerator. While in
Miami, you will find a combination of different food from different nation such as Mexican, Italian,
Chinese, Asian and Jamaican food. We cannot really say that Miami has its own type of food.Haiti
practice all kind of music but the type of music that is known as Haitian music is called konpa . Konpa
is a modern méringue musical genre in Haiti with European and African roots. They also have rap and
other kinds of music and different types of artists .In Miami it s mostly about rap, hip hop and rnb.
Konpa is a more towards the romantic sides of things where as rap is more about wealth and what the
person been through.
To conclude I ve been blessed to experience two different countries, although it wasn t easy I ve
learned from both, while daily life in America/Miami is much different than in Haiti, there are many
similarities as well. Underneath all of our cultural differences, the same heart still beats. Food must be
eaten, clean water must be drank. Everyone must sleep at night, and wake up to a bright new day.
Spending time with family and friends is at the center of the lives of both Americans and Haitians.
With all of our differences, we are all simply human beings living a life on planet

Multidimensional Pattern Mining For The Classroom...
Multidimensional pattern mining for the classroom utilization of University of Lethbridge
Md Asif Khan
ID 001178179
Abstract The current classroom utilization of University of Lethbridge is around 50%. Now, they are
planning to increase it up to 80%. The data of classrooms for last five years are available that includes
Course name, Course Level, Approved size, Sitting types, Actual enrollment and so on. Now, our job
is to find out classroom utilization trend, Compare approved and actual enrollment values, find
patterns among the classroom size, level and schedule. Above all, based on the data we have to take
decision on how we can change the schedule of the classes and their length to have a better utilization

Second, even though two universities may have same utilization rates but they may have different
areas of classroom per student. Third, there is no standard framework to find out how all the
universities are doing year by year. We do not know the factors that influence the classroom size,
student enrollment and utilization. There are a lot of questions to be answer. Now, our job is to find
out classroom utilization trend, Compare approved and actual enrollment values, find patterns among
the classroom size, level and schedule. Above all, based on the data we have to take decision on how
we can change the schedule of the classes and their length to have a better utilization yield.
Problem description and prior work
There have been significant works related to Multidimensional data mining. But there is hardly any
work to find any work related to classroom utilization trend associating multidimensional pattern. But
here we have presented some of the data mining technique that we may apply to this field.
Apriori algorithm is one of the notable works for mining multidimensional association rules. A recent
study of Khare et al. [3] has implemented multidimensional association rules using Boolean relational
calculus to discover frequent predicate sets. For the purpose of retrieving pattern from database, the
relational database is first transformed into Boolean matrix by setting us a Boolean matrix Am*n ,
where m (are records) and n ( are different dimension

Observation In Nursing Office
Method
Setting
This research will take place in the office of a nursing registry; this office is located on the third floor
of a 30 floor multi office building. Upon walking into the office, one immediately enters the main
room, which leads to two other smaller rooms. The rooms have an overall similar layout but retain
some important differences. For instance, in every room, desks are strategically angled toward the
door, so that employees will immediately notice visitors who enter their office. The rooms, however,
have some differences that are discussed later. The main room is the largest, which enables it to double
as a waiting room and office. The small portion of the room that is designed to be a waiting area
includes two chairs facing the employees and located next to a small gray table. This table serves a
primarily decorative purpose: it holds small silver letters abbreviating the company name and a
magazine holder containing recent issues of business magazines. The larger portion of the room is
dedicated to office matters. There are two large gray desks, one in front of the other, arranged so that
any visitors who enter the office will immediately enter the employees visual field. Both desks are
undecorated and only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

observation, I will sit in the room and observe while taking notes on my laptop because that is more

observed and will behave as they usually do. During this observation period, I will be looking for
unproductive activity, such as clocking in late, taking excessively long lunch breaks, having lengthy
and disruptive small talk with co workers or visitors, and using social media during work. I will also

Essay on Lord of the Flies
William Golding, the author of Lord of the Flies, used irony to tell his story of a group of young
British boys stranded on a deserted island. The readers can clearly spot the irony in the dialogue and
Ralph, one of the main character, is also aware of the irony in his situation. The irony in the novel
forces the readers to step aside and think about the hidden meanings the author is trying to express.
br
br The first example of irony occurred in chapter two. Jack says to the group of young, impressionable
boys that We ve got to have rules and obey them. After all, we re not savages. (Golding 32)However,
in the following chapters Jack is the leader of the tribe and encourages the boys to forget civilization
and act upon their primitive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He actually causes more problems. He is mistaken for the beast and causes more fear in the boys and
drives them closer to becoming savages.
br
br Piggy often says that they act like a crowd of kids . He says to Ralph that grownups know things.
They ain t afraid of the dark. They d meet and have tea and discuss. Then things ‘ud be all right . This
is perhaps the best example of irony in the novel. It is because the adults could not get together and
discuss their problems that they were stranded on the island in the first place. If they had been able to
meet and discuss they boys would have never fleed their school and would have never been shot
down, therefore avoiding ever being on the island.
br
br William Golding used irony in Lord of the Flies as a way to make the readers step back and think
about what he wrote. If he had not wrote the story with ironic twists and hidden meanings many
people would miss the meaning of the book. The readers would be able to finish the novel without
thinking about the issues that you are meant to ponder after reading Lord of the Flies, such as evil,
spirituality, society, man versus the unknown, man versus himself and many other important themes in

America s Role In World War I
What triggered World War I? The main reason still remains unanswered. World War I was one of the
most horrific wars that the world has ever experienced. The war was fought in Europe between
Germany, Russia, France, Great Britain, the U.S. and many others. Militarism, alliance systems and
imperialist were some of the causes that set off the one of the greatest wars in the history of the world.
Militarism played a vast role in WWI. Since Germany s nation was industrialized, they invested
millions of dollars refining their military to make it ready for war. In order for all the other countries
to compete with them, they had to update their armies as well. With all the military improvements,
Germany was extremely anxious to make a use of their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the United States embarked on a famine relief program in the Soviet Union in the early
1920s and American businessmen established commercial ties there during the period of the New
Economic Policy, the two countries did not start diplomatic relations until 1933. By that time, the
oppressive nature of Joseph Stalin s command presented an impossible obstacle to friendly relations
with the West. Although World War II brought the two countries into alliance, based on the common
aim of defeating Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union s aggressive, antidemocratic policy toward Eastern
Europe had created tensions even before the war ended.
Fear of communism significantly affected American domestic policy with regard to both immigration
policy and workers rights. In the 1920s, the United States experienced its first Red Scare soon after
Russia s Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 brought communism to the forefront of people s minds. In the
1950s, the U.S. experienced a similar wave of anti communist fear during the first phases of the Cold
War. Overall, this anti communist fear led to both social and economic

Round Characters In The Destructors
Convincing Characters in Graham Greene s The Destructors
The character Blackie in the short story The Destructors is a convincing character because he displays
traits that are found in real people. Convincing characters are similar to round characters, because they
are complex and many sided; they have the three dimensional quality of real people (Johnson, Arp
144). On the other hand, a flat character is the opposite of a round character, and only displays one to
two character traits. This generally makes them easier to predict and understand, because there is less
to understand. Round characters are more difficult to predict, because they have more character traits
to keep track of, and they are more like real people. If a character behaves ... Show more content on

This story takes place in a town that has recently been hit by a bomb during the Blitz, and focuses on a
gang of boys, an old man nicknamed Old Misery , and his home. The leader of the gang s name is
Blackie, and he is their leader, until a boy named Trevor takes over. When this happens, Blackie
gracefully steps down. This is shown in the story when it says, He ll tell you, Blackie said. It was the
end of his leadership. (Greene 109). After Blackie says this, he quietly walks away and kicks a rock
around before returning to the gang. He might have done this because he believed that he could gain
leadership back, but not if he was not a part of the gang. By backing down and allowing Trevor to
become leader of his gang without putting up a fight so that he could regain leadership later, Blackie
proves that he is a complex character. This could not have been predicted, however, it can be
understood later. Usually, when someone has their authority challenged, they become angry and do
their best to protect their position. This is not the case with Blackie. He actually befriends Trevor, and
together they burn money that Trevor found in the house:

Stock Market Bubble and Herding
Herding is an everyday phenomenon from personal to financial contexts. The focus of this paper is to
explore the theory of herding, namely Compensation Based Herding (CBH) and its effect on financial
markets. The report aims to explain herding, assess the advantages and disadvantages of CBH
incorporating the 2008 financial crisis, and explore the possibility that CBH may have no effect on the
financial markets. Herding occurs when investors imitate each other and create a bandwagon effect.
There are three general reasons why herding exists in financial markets. Firstly it is due to uncertainty,
where if investors are unsure of the markets, they will simply mimic each other s actions. Secondly,
agents are compensated in relation to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of CBH can be seen in the 2008 financial system crisis. Investment banks began to
emulate each other through a period of high volumes of sub prime mortgages. The demand for sub
prime mortgages was rising as hopeful home owners with poor credit could obtain such a mortgage by
paying little or no down payment and without going through proper tax documentation and credit
checks. Investment banks borrowed more to purchase the sub prime mortgages and earned a
commission fee when selling it to individuals and institutions. Decisions made across the investment
banks began to become more uniform, as these investors were compensated based on their
performance measured against their peers. Investment banks were making large profits, cashing in on
the notion that as the demand for the sub prime mortgages and houses went up, the house prices
increased in accordance. If the mortgage holders were to default, their houses were worth enough to
cover their debts with the banks. However, they were ignoring the blatant evidence that their
investment portfolios were inefficient and highly risky. Publicly available information showed that
these mortgage holders were not able to meet their payments. Not only were their credit ratings
exceptionally low as compared to other borrowers, these sub prime mortgages also carry interest rate
structures with low teaser rates in the first few

Critical Analysis Of Robert Reich s Inequality For All
In the documentary titled Inequality for All , Robert Reich attempts to describe to the audience and his
students reasons for the income inequality found in the United States. Inequality for All showed an
endearing and caring side of Reich, where he made himself seem human and fallible. I found myself
personally enjoying this side of him, the short aging man who, although a Rhodes Scholar drives a
Cooper and holds himself above politics.
After reflection and research, one can quickly see where Mr. Reich uses emotion and imagery to build
a false argument. His attempts to pull the emotional strings of the audience begin with his extreme
shortness caused by a medical affliction. We move to Reich driving an inexpensive car with a manual
transmission. Then we meet a woman having difficulty making ends meet and crying while relating
her story. Reich shows the audience and his students a Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) graph
with a hockey stick curve so sharp it was astounding. I had to pause the film so I could research this
graph as the visual was so extraordinary. I found an online interactive graph of the DJIA using data for
the last 8 or 9 decades. I could not create any data set that produced the theatrical image shown in the
film. This, however, is typical Robert Reich, shocking graphs with no numbers. He just uses them as
pictures to demonstrate an emotional point, never mind there is no substance, just emotion.
Attempting to illustrate the income inequality, we were introduced to the graph showing a U shaped
curve . Reich, Saez and Piketty wanted to present that curve represented income disparity from 1900
to present day. Reich and his cohorts wanted to focus on the timeline of the graph from around 1920 to
1940. It seems this was a time where the income differential was much less than present day and they
want to get back to that time.

Effects Of Downsizing Of The Army Downsizing Essay
Effects of Downsizing The impact of the Army downsizing is nothing new. This rapid demobilization
of forces has transpired after every major conflict. The most recent downsizing effort was from the
Persian Gulf. The Army was an incredibly powerful force around 730,000 in 1990 and rapidly
downsized to 508,000 in 1995. Once again, the Army is repeating itself, projecting to shrink the active
force from 566,000 during the height in 2011 to a speculated 420,000 reaching this in the fiscal year
2017 (Trice, 2015). A disturbing fact is that the unemployment rate for veterans outpaces that of the
rest of the country at 6.8% rate verses that of the non veterans of 5.7% (Watson, 2014). The strain of a
growing unemployment rate among veterans rapidly increases in small towns throughout the United
States especially those where units are deactivating.
Economic Effects As the downsizing and restructure of the Army continues, cities all over the country
also feel the sting of Soldiers leaving the service. Two cities outside of Fort Benning, Phenix City and
Columbus Georgia, have reported they will miss an estimated $229 million dollars in sales due to the
elimination of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team (Adams, 2015). Other concerning factors are the civilian
employees that currently work on Fort Benning. They may also be out of work due to the restructure.
This ripple effect will continue throughout other privately owned businesses. For instance, the
apartments Soldiers currently

Conflict Theory On Society And Human Behavior
Conflict theory is the view that the struggle for power in society and human behavior in social
contexts results from conflicts between competing groups (Siegel, 2015, pg.198). Ted Bundy always
acted alone in his crimes and was never a part of any group that suffered discrimination or oppression
by the government. Dr, Carlisle observed that Bundy was a private person who won t open up and
reveal himself to others. He doesn t want to be known by others (Ramsland, 2011, pg. 113). The most
Bundy ever did was volunteer during his high school and early college years in local political races.
Politics gave me the opportunity to be close to people, he said. To be socially involved with them... as
a consequence of working with them. You get very close. You drink each night and people sleep with
each other. It s a sort of built in social life...In politics you can move between the various strata of
society. You can talk and mingle with people to whom otherwise you would have absolutely no access
(Michaud Aynesworth, 2000, pg. 11). Marxist or Radical theory The Marxists theory was developed
by Karl Marx who believed that modern capitalism had turned workers into a dehumanized mass who
lived an existence that was at the mercy of their employers which led him to conclude that the
character of every civilization is determined by its mode of production (Siegel, 2015, pg. 199).
Richard Quinney derived the radical theory which is derived from the Marxist theory and describes

Pros And Cons Of Resilience
5. Literature Review
Introduction
Resilience is a broad construct which spans across a broad and diverse range of disciplines. In
engineering resilience of a system refers to a set of behaviours and strategies allowing for the creation
of proactive defences against disturbance and interruption that threatens the systems integrity (Palazzi
et al.,2014). Business on the other hand refer to resilience as an organisation s capacity to anticipate
and react to change, not only to survive, but also to evolve (Newnham and Crash, 2015). In sport
Solomon and Becker created a four step process which athletes can use to deal with performance

They assert that exposure to chronic stress and adversity and a lack of resources to mitigate the risk
could lead to maladjustment. Maholmes, with reference to Garmezy and Rutter (1983) refer to risk
factors as negative occurrences or adverse phenomena in the environment or within the child, that
place the child at risk of having poor outcomes (Maholmes,2014:27). The ecological systems theories
of Bronfenbrenner (1989) and Garmezy triad (1991) corroborates with this assertion ; as it opines that
this factors are present at the individual, family and community levels. Risk for individuals which may
result in negative outcomes may include, chronic illness temperament or mental disorders. At a family
level it may represent harsh parenting styles , job loss, depression, food insecurity, proverty and
economic disadvantage. Community risk may manifest in poor neighbourhood quality and cohesion,
or lack of resources (Maholmes,2014:24 ; Southwick and Charney,2012:20). It is imperative to note
though that risk is cumulative in nature. The presence of one increases the likelihood that more will

When they restrained me, they were too close for comfort. 5 shots came out of my gun and all 5 killed

The Sisters of Mercy were and are advocates for immigration in the same way as they are now as it

to help out the poor people of the community. The house was also open to people that needed help

impacted many and also made countless statements that still ring true today. His impact on the outlook
of the Vietnam War was influential for many, and it motivated others to push for civil rights like he
did. A lot of fellow activists approved of his actions, while others were very against what he believed
in. Clearly, Muhammad Ali, otherwise known as Cassius Clay, was a controversial topic during the
Vietnam War.

Why Is Canute The Great Cruel
Canute the Great
Canute the Great was King of England. After taking over England, he made his way up till he ended
up ruling over Denmark and Norway. He killed and did some bizarre things to get all power. But he
ended up making history.
His Background
Canute Started to take rule and leading at a young age, helping his father (Sweyn Forkbeard) in the
Invasion of England in 1013. Canute was cruel at times, he planned many deaths. Including killing
important Englishmen and Edmond s death. He didn t care who he killed as long as he got what he

Influence of Media on Crime.
Is Media Responsible for the Increasing Crime Rate?
It is believed that the great Plato had a question similar to this, he was worried whether the violence in
plays will have a negative effect on people of his land. We cannot mitigate the influence of media on
the society. Some believe that it is the curse for the contemporary society, as it invigorates individuals
to commit crimes. Are these people right? Read on to know the answer to this grave question.
Contrary to the popular belief, media is not responsible for the increase in the rate of crime! There is
no doubt that, media has the power to inspire, persuade, and provoke the masses, but criticizing it for
the rise in crime, is a sign of ignorance. The critics who disparage the ... Show more content on

the rate of crime has always been fluctuating, but the reporting of stories of violence by the media, has

A Short Note On Corporate Management s Financial Metrics...
PROJECT FINDINGS/OUTCOMES/DELIVERABLES With corporate management s financial
metrics, which provides previous year s average nursing staff percentage and billing rate, by using the
data that are collected from the referral tracking master log to yield each location s expected weekly
hours approved and average process days, the potential revenue of 7 days from the referral pipeline
can be calculated. As each location s average referral process days is greater than the median, that
location has greater possibility to reduce its referral process days, therefore potentially increase the
company s revenue (see appendix 4, chart 1 2) Based on the findings, Tucker PDN has the highest
average referral process days 62 days and second highest potential revenue of 7 days $14,200 (Staff %
× Billing Rate × Expected weekly hours approved); Philadelphia PDN has the third highest average
process days 53 days and third highest potential revenue of 7 days $13,900. These two locations are
top priorities in term of reducing the referral process days and generating extra revenue. Plus,
Harrisburg PDN and Westford PDN can also be considered as priorities, since both locations are also
well above the total average referral process days, have a great amount of potential revenue of 7 days
in total of $21,000. For PDH location, Wilkes Barre PDH is the primary location, with second highest
average referral process days and second highest potential revenue of 7 days, as 7 average

Memory and Fortune in the Odyssey
When scholars analyze themes of meaning in the Homeric epic The Odyssey, a common area of focus
is the significance of memory and forgetting to the story. One interpretation of the text poses that
characters being able to remember Odysseus brings about fortunate consequences for the protagonist,
while forgetting about him or his deeds leads to negative ones. However, the forgetting of Odysseus s
transgressions by the suitor s fathers at the end of the epic contradicts this as Odysseus is spared
through it. It is through the juxtaposition of Athena s requests for memory and forgetting, respectively,
at the beginning and conclusion of the epic that show the retention of the memory of Odysseus by
others is not inherently beneficial nor detrimental to him. Rather, memory is a tool: a double edged
sword that can either improve or worsen his condition based on circumstance. What is inherent,
however, is the tendency of events to progress, albeit slowly and circuitously, towards the inevitable
homecoming of Odysseus, his retaking of the seat of power, and the return to normalcy on Icatha.
Memory and forgetting merely serve as a means to achieve that fated end, rather than being objects of
meaning themselves. That the remembrance of Odysseus by other characters helps him out later on in
the epic is certainly supported by events that transpire in the first half of the story. The action begins
with Athena pleading with her father Zeus to release Odysseus from his two decade

My Life At An Outpatient Rehabilitation Center
Research Paper
Robert H. Mixon III
American Military University 19 July 2015
Abstract
Ever since my mother started working at an outpatient rehabilitation center, I have always wanted to
be a physical therapist. I chose to right my paper on this field for the fact that I have seen the ins and
outs of the career field. I have spent the majority of my teen life in the gym working out next to many
of the physical therapists as they worked and have become quite close to many of them. I feel as
though this field is great for those that care for their patients and like to see them get better. This is
where the I want to walk again becomes the I will walk again . In that gym, I have seen the rubber
meet the road and words become to actions. Thus, I have been driven to become one of them rather
than just another onlooker.
The healthcare profession of physical therapist started in the Hippocrates and Greek culture,
progressing through to today s day and age where we are utilizing state of the art equipment to
rehabilitate and treat patients so they are able to live a better life for themselves and their loved ones.
The Greek culture is where physical therapy started. It was the basis here that gave life to treating
diseases and injuries through exercises. It continued to progress through the centuries adding to its
toolbox the use of temperature change and electricity as well as other

The Bible Passage Judges Chapter Fourteen
I have selected the Bible passage Judges Chapter Fourteen verses One Twenty and have analyzed and
interpreted this specific passage by using the King James Version Study Bible. I have also read the
article, A Black Feminist Approach to Biblical Studies by Wilda Gafney, which also interprets and
analyzes this specific Bible passage. After interpreting this passage myself and then reading Gafney s
work, I can see that we had both seen the story pretty similarly except for that she noticed some
specific details in the passage that failed to catch my attention. Her points are strong and compelling
but is she looking too deeply into the story?
The Book of Judges is thought to be possibly written by Samuel and the purpose of this book is stated
to be, to show that God s judgement against sin is certain, and his forgiveness of sin and restoration to
relationship are just as certain for those who repent (KJV Study Bible). Judges Chapter Fourteen
verses One Twenty is specifically the story of Samson s Feast and Riddle. The author of this passage
(thought to be Samuel) is saying that you should not use God s blessings for selfish purposes. It is a
special gift for God to give you these strengths and abilities and to use them selfishly is robbing God,
the church, and his fellow believers (KJV Study Bible). As you use the gifts God has given you, you
should be sure that you are helping others as God would want you too, not just yourself. This specific
Bible passage tells the story

How the Length of a Wire Affects its Resistance
How the Length of a Wire Affects Its Resistance In my physics coursework I am going to investigate
the effect of the length of a wire on its resistance. Resistance is the measure of how easy it is for
current to flow through a wire. Current is the rate of flow of charge through a conductor, and it is
measured in amps using an ammeter. To help me plan my investigation I have completed a
preliminary experiment in which I investigated the effect of the thickness of a wire on its resistance,
using three constantan wires and one copper wire. I found that the resistance increased as the thickness
of the wire decreased, however, when I did the test with the copper wire I found that it was so

Newton s Second Laws
Newton s first law states that an object at rest will remain at rest unless acted upon by an unbalanced
force, and an object in motion will continue to move at a constant speed and in a straight line unless
acted upon by an unbalanced force. Before the balloon is blown up, the car is at rest. The unbalanced
force, which is the air inside the balloon, causes the car to move. When the car is in motion, it will
eventually slow down. This is because the balloon runs out of air. In other words, it stops exerting the
unbalanced force that causes the car to move. Friction also slows down the car. After the car was built,
the balloon was blown up many times to test the car. In the beginning, the car accelerated fast.
However, it became slower, and after a few seconds, it stopped.
Newton s second law states that the acceleration of an object depends on the mass of the object and
the force applied on the object. The first car that was built had a great amount of mass. The second car
that was built had less mass than the first car. The same force was applied to both of the cars.
However, the first car did not travel far because it had more mass. Even though the same size balloon
was used for both cars, the one with less mass accelerated more than the one with more mass. ... Show

All forces act in pairs, so when a force is exerted there is a reaction force. Newton s third law was
involved in four different areas of for the car: the first object, the second object, an action force, and

car itself and the second object was the air around the car. The force that the car exerted pushed the air

Americans throughout her poetry which shows the strength and beauty of the intricacies of her life.
Clifton s poetic style suggests that she doesn t like to follow the crowd . I also don t fit in with the
crowd because I view and act differently than the social norm. Hearing that Emmy Award winning
Lucille Clifton chooses not to conform to society either, I don t feel inadequate or substandard for

stanzas and around five syllables. She said, I use simple language. I have never believed for anything
to be valid or true or intellectual or deep it had to be complex. I deliberately use the language that I

Ethical Decision Making Analysis
In society, individuals experience situations in which they tend to question whether their choices are

they are the good or bad choice. The three principles for making an ethical decision are The Rule of
Private Gain , Everyone Does It , and Benefits Versus Burden . If a person is stuck in a situation where
they re indecisive about the choice, then the individual should look at the three principles. This article

can unexpectedly face an ethical dilemma when unusual situations occur suddenly for which an

Gung Ho
Gung Ho
I recently read Gung Ho! written by Ken Blanchard and Sheldon Bowles. This book gives a unique
perspective on the leader versus manager concepts. It depicts the struggles a General Manager faces as
she is given the daunting task of running Walton Works # 2. This book shows how motivation,
appreciation, and respect can help to transform a self destructive plant into a thriving successful
business.
While on the surface Peggy Sinclair, the General Manager, thought that she was being rewarded, it did
not take longer than one day on the job to realize she was being set up. She had authored a staff

Andy believed that information is the gatekeeper to power. [He] wanted the team in charge, with the
power to make decisions and make things happen (Blanchard 112). The finishing department had
charts and reports hanging on the walls. Sharing this information allows for employees to know that
what they do impacts others and any safe time saving techniques they can develop or any time passing
with no injuries can positively affect the bottom line.
Andy and Peggy were transformational leaders. They inspire[d] people to do the unexpected, above
and beyond the plan (Kreitner 511). They wanted the employees to think outside the box and also to
be proud of the work they did each day. Taking pride in what they did improved the quality and
efficiency of the work and in turn helped to bolster morale throughout the plant.
A management style used in Gung Ho was delegation. Delegation is assigning various degrees of
decision making authority to lower level employees (Kreitner 337). When Walton Works #2 was going

Ithaca Chapter 17 Summary
Chapter 17: Reimagining Plot and Literary Style in Ithaca
Ithaca is the book s most radical attack on the idea of literary style (Lawrence 559).
In some versions of Ulysses, Ithaca ends with a bold dot clearly placed in the middle of the page. The
dot represents a central crux that concerns much of the critical scholarship surrounding the episode;
does the novel come to a conclusion? Does Ulysses have a point ? In his accompaniment to the novel,
Gifford refers to the dot as a Q.E.D., an abbreviation of the Latin phrase quod erat demonstrandum.
The phrase itself translates to that which was to be proved and, in classical logic proofs and
syllogisms, a Q.E.D. marks the conclusion of a problem. Gifford and other critics believe that ... Show

The homeric parallels from the previous episodes find their way home in Ithaca. In books seventeen
through twenty three of The Odyssey, Odysseus, with help form Telemachus, enters Ithaca in disguise.
Still unknown to those in the palace, Odysseus strings his great bow and slaughters the suitors who
have overrun his home. Much of the action in the chapter accurately corresponds to the action of
Homer s epic; Bloom has to enter his house by a stratagem after forgetting his keys (17.84), like Zeus
sign of reassurance the liturgical review of Bloom s day is rewarded by a loud lone crack emitted by
the insentient material of a strainveined timber table (Joyce 17.2061 62 [Gifford 566]), and most
saliently, Bloom kills Molly s suitors in his own right. Near the end of the chapter, he gives a list of
the sequence of men in Molly s life. However, this list comes after a meditation of the ephemerality of
human importance. He thinks that each one who enters imagines himself a preceding series even if the
first term of a succeeding one, each imagining himself to be first, last, only and alone whereas he is
neither first last nor only nor alone in a series originating in and repeated to infinity (17.2128 31).
Bloom s indifference about Blazes and the other suitors in Molly s life let him transcend the cowardly
cuckold narrative that followed him throughout the novel. The suitors cannot take his place, because
in an infinite, cycling sequence there is no place to take. Although Odysseus asserts his rightful
position through the violent slaughter of men competing for his wife s attention, Bloom defeats the
suitors by disregarding their importance all

We would walk through the city every night. It would not be an 80 degree night, no, more like a 68
degree night, where all you need is warm sweater to shelter your kidneys. No wind, no rain, just the
empty air. You and I and the empty air. As much as we adored hanging out during the shinning days,
we always favored the night. The night had more intimate and exclusive qualities. The night has a
misty glow that makes the world shine in a way that the sun fails to achieve. The night conceals itself
behind an unlit cloak and requires effort to unravel the true beauty underneath. That s how it feels
existing around you. It s similar to having an exhausting day and all that is anticipated is the night.
You can stroll to relaxation and contentment. You are my night. When we are together, I suppose, it is
only for the moon to see. We would walk through the city every night, specifically on the sidewalk
and the rhythmic clicks of my boots echoed throughout the entire block. My boots wanted to show
you off to the entire city. Each click lets everyone know that I am with you and no one else. Each click
lets everyone know that I am confident and delighted when I am around you. Each click lets everyone
know that I am not ashamed of who I am around you. However, your shoes would not make any noise.
They never do. We would walk through the city every night at the same pace. Side by side, left foot,
then right, then left, and then right again. We are in harmony, yet relish the silence.

Comparison Between Good And Evil In Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde
Good Vs. Evil in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde The battle line between good and evil runs through the heart
of every man. (Solzhenitsyn) In the story Dr.Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson,
Dr.Jekyll has this battle of good and evil within himself. He has the idea to separate his evil half
known as Mr. Hyde with a potion. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde focuses on duality of man and human
nature. Stevenson develops the theme of good and evil throughout the story using the setting,
characters, and the city of London. In the beginning of the story Mr. Utterson, a lawyer, and Mr.
Enfield, a doctor, are taking their normal sunday stroll, as they are walking they pass by a house that
catches their attention. This house seems out of place, to be in the neighborhood they re in because
they are in a richer neighborhood and the door on the house looks old and rugged. Which reminds
Mr.Enfield of a story of a girl whom he witnessed getting trampled one night, and how he made the
evil man who trampled her pay money to cover what he had done. The trampling of the girl is
represented as an evil thing. Strangely, the check contained the name of a very respectable man which
aroused Enfield s suspicions about the check. Enfield refuses to reveal the name on the check.
However we find out that the evil man is actually Hyde and he wrote a check signed by Jekyll. No one
has heard of Mr. Hyde so Mr. Utterson makes it his mission to find out more about Mr. Hyde. Utterson
is a lawyer and, in fact he is Dr. Jekyll s lawyer he opens a safe that had Jekyll s will in it. He looks
over it for a long time. The terms in the will say all of the doctor s possessions are to pass into the
hands of his friend Edward Hyde if Dr. Jekyll disappears or has an unexplained absence. Utterson
goes to visit Dr. Lanyon. He thinks that Lanyon can explain Dr. Jekyll s relationship to Hyde. Lanyon
greets his friend into his home, and the two men talk for a while till Utterson says to Lanyon that they
are probably two of the oldest friends that Henry Jekyll has. Lanyon replies that he hasn t seen much
of Jekyll for years, ever since Jekyll ...became too fanciful... and ...wrong in mind...
(Stevenson,11).Which infers something of the evil act.

The Treatment Of Birth Control
According to the United States census, the world population is over 7 billion and a birth occurs every
8 seconds. China leads with well over 1.3 billion people. There are rural areas, in Africa that women
have never heard of any form of birth control. In those areas, women have 6 or more children.
According to the United nations report (2013), The world s population is expected to reach 9.6 billion
by 2050. There is already a lack of natural global resources. The environment is showing signs of
misuse caused by humans. While, reproduction is a part of life and a human right. We as people need
to work on preserving our natural resources, for the betterment of our future. And, birth control is a
considered method in helping control our population. Birth control is also another way of helping
developing countries due to lack of obstetric care, or countries that are disease, and poverty stricken.
The pill allowed women, control not only in their sexual explorations but in society. They had the
ability to be more economically stable before having children. With the choice to delay pregnancy, it
gives those a choice in how they will live their lives. Some can complete their education, follow their
dreams, and start businesses.
Abortion has been a hot topic for awhile, It has become a form of Birth control for many who take the
risk of having unprotected sex, yet don t want the responsibility of a child. Birth control goes beyond
moral responsibilities but is also a

Difference of Marketing Product and Service
The Marketing of product and service are different
A product is normally a thing that sold to people and mostly is tangible. Basically, the marketing of
product is particularly focused on 4P s in marketing mix namely product, price, place, and promotion
(Ehmke Fulton Lusk, n.d.). The marketer needs to analyze the major demand of customers in a
specific market in order to find out a product that can respond the market demand. Firstly, it is
necessary for marketers to focus on the strength as well as eliminate the vulnerabilities of marketed
products in order to improve products to meet customer s demand as much as possible. Secondly, the
price is an important factor in product marketing because of the price must be set to match with ...

I think product and services marketing are significantly different because of characteristic of itself.
The first characteristic of services marketing is intangibility; it cannot be seen, touched or felt prior
consumption. On the other hands, product marketing is tangible, the customer is able to touch, feel,
taste or smell the product either before or after purchasing. For example, when customers walk
through a restaurant, they might get the food smell from the restaurant but they cannot know how well
of service if they do not buy the menu.
Secondly, products can be stored in order to sell to the customer in the next time whereas services
marketing mostly are unable to be inventoried, they are perishable. Hence, the value of service always
exists at the point when it is required. Therefore, it seems to be very difficult to match supply with
demand in service marketing.
Thirdly, the other difference of product and services marketing is the level of relationship between the
client and provider. Undoubtedly, there is much more personal contact required in services marketing
than product marketing. In case of product marketing, customers and sellers may face each other just
once time when they are dealing products and they might have no chance to see each other again.
However, in services marketing, consumers and service providers may have to see each other
frequently throughout until the contract is ended or until the last thing that consumers

Pride In The Ottoman Empire
As I struggle up this unstable wooden ladder I cannot help but feel a sense of pride in the empire I am
defending. In years past, we Turks have slowly been acquiring large amounts of land for the Ottoman
Empire and finally conquering Constantinople will validate the triumphs we have earned throughout
the west. As a Janissary of the great Ottoman Empire it is my duty to wield my shield and sword to
expand this empire that I serve. The crack of guns echoes through the battle and arrows whiz past my
armored head. Bodies tumble over the sturdy fortress that encircles Constantinople as I continue
scaling the ladder. Nonetheless, I focus on my mission: entering the city walls. Hopefully, the sultan
will give us soldiers a chance to loot the Byzantines

Upon walking into the office, one immediately enters the main room, which leads to two other smaller rooms. The rooms have an overall similar layout but retain some important differences. For instance, in every room, desks are strategically angled toward the door, so that employees will immediately notice visitors who enter their office. The rooms, however, have some differences that are discussed later. The main room is the largest, which enables it to double as a waiting room and office. The small portion of the room that is designed to be a waiting area includes two chairs facing the employees and located next to a small gray table. This table serves a primarily decorative purpose: it holds small silver letters abbreviating the company name and a magazine holder containing recent issues of business magazines. • 7. Essay on Lord of the Flies William Golding, the author of Lord of the Flies, used irony to tell his story of a group of young British boys stranded on a deserted island. The readers can clearly spot the irony in the dialogue and Ralph, one of the main character, is also aware of the irony in his situation. The irony in the novel forces the readers to step aside and think about the hidden meanings the author is trying to express. br br The first example of irony occurred in chapter two. Jack says to the group of young, impressionable boys that We ve got to have rules and obey them. After all, we re not savages. It is because the adults could not get together and discuss their problems that they were stranded on the island in the first place. If they had been able to meet and discuss they boys would have never fleed their school and would have never been shot down, therefore avoiding ever being on the island. br br William Golding used irony in Lord of the Flies as a way to make the readers step back and think about what he wrote. If he had not wrote the story with ironic twists and hidden meanings many people would miss the meaning of the book. The war was fought in Europe between Germany, Russia, France, Great Britain, the U.S. and many others. Militarism, alliance systems and imperialist were some of the causes that set off the one of the greatest wars in the history of the world. Militarism played a vast role in WWI. Since Germany s nation was industrialized, they invested millions of dollars refining their military to make it ready for war. In order for all the other countries to compete with them, they had to update their armies as well. With all the military improvements, Germany was extremely anxious to make a use of their ... By that time, the oppressive nature of Joseph Stalin s command presented an impossible obstacle to friendly relations with the West. Although World War II brought the two countries into alliance, based on the common aim of defeating Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union s aggressive, antidemocratic policy toward Eastern Europe had created tensions even before the war ended. Fear of communism significantly affected American domestic policy with regard to both immigration policy and workers rights. In the 1920s, the United States experienced its first Red Scare soon after Russia s Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 brought communism to the forefront of people s minds. Round Characters In The Destructors Convincing Characters in Graham Greene s The Destructors The character Blackie in the short story The Destructors is a convincing character because he displays traits that are found in real people. Convincing characters are similar to round characters, because they are complex and many sided; they have the three dimensional quality of real people (Johnson, Arp 144). On the other hand, a flat character is the opposite of a round character, and only displays one to two character traits. This generally makes them easier to predict and understand, because there is less to understand. Round characters are more difficult to predict, because they have more character traits to keep track of, and they are more like real people. If a character behaves ... The leader of the gang s name is Blackie, and he is their leader, until a boy named Trevor takes over. When this happens, Blackie gracefully steps down. This is shown in the story when it says, He ll tell you, Blackie said. It was the end of his leadership. (Greene 109). After Blackie says this, he quietly walks away and kicks a rock around before returning to the gang. He might have done this because he believed that he could gain leadership back, but not if he was not a part of the gang. By backing down and allowing Trevor to become leader of his gang without putting up a fight so that he could regain leadership later, Blackie proves that he is a complex character. This could not have been predicted, however, it can be understood later. Usually, when someone has their authority challenged, they become angry and do their best to protect their position. The focus of this paper is to explore the theory of herding, namely Compensation Based Herding (CBH) and its effect on financial markets. The report aims to explain herding, assess the advantages and disadvantages of CBH incorporating the 2008 financial crisis, and explore the possibility that CBH may have no effect on the financial markets. Herding occurs when investors imitate each other and create a bandwagon effect. There are three general reasons why herding exists in financial markets. Firstly it is due to uncertainty, where if investors are unsure of the markets, they will simply mimic each other s actions. Secondly, agents are compensated in relation to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example of CBH can be seen in the 2008 financial system crisis. Investment banks began to emulate each other through a period of high volumes of sub prime mortgages. The demand for sub prime mortgages was rising as hopeful home owners with poor credit could obtain such a mortgage by paying little or no down payment and without going through proper tax documentation and credit checks. Investment banks borrowed more to purchase the sub prime mortgages and earned a commission fee when selling it to individuals and institutions. Decisions made across the investment banks began to become more uniform, as these investors were compensated based on their performance measured against their peers. Investment banks were making large profits, cashing in on the notion that as the demand for the sub prime mortgages and houses went up, the house prices increased in accordance. If the mortgage holders were to default, their houses were worth enough to cover their debts with the banks. However, they were ignoring the blatant evidence that their investment portfolios were inefficient and highly risky. Publicly available information showed that these mortgage holders were not able to meet their payments. Not only were their credit ratings exceptionally low as compared to other borrowers, these sub prime mortgages also carry interest rate structures with low teaser rates in the first few ... • 11. Critical Analysis Of Robert Reich s Inequality For All In the documentary titled Inequality for All , Robert Reich attempts to describe to the audience and his students reasons for the income inequality found in the United States. Inequality for All showed an endearing and caring side of Reich, where he made himself seem human and fallible. I found myself personally enjoying this side of him, the short aging man who, although a Rhodes Scholar drives a Cooper and holds himself above politics. After reflection and research, one can quickly see where Mr. Reich uses emotion and imagery to build a false argument. His attempts to pull the emotional strings of the audience begin with his extreme shortness caused by a medical affliction. We move to Reich driving an inexpensive car with a manual transmission. Then we meet a woman having difficulty making ends meet and crying while relating her story. Reich shows the audience and his students a Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) graph with a hockey stick curve so sharp it was astounding. I had to pause the film so I could research this graph as the visual was so extraordinary. I found an online interactive graph of the DJIA using data for the last 8 or 9 decades. I could not create any data set that produced the theatrical image shown in the film. This, however, is typical Robert Reich, shocking graphs with no numbers. He just uses them as pictures to demonstrate an emotional point, never mind there is no substance, just emotion. Attempting to illustrate the income inequality, we were introduced to the graph showing a U shaped curve . Reich, Saez and Piketty wanted to present that curve represented income disparity from 1900 to present day. Reich and his cohorts wanted to focus on the timeline of the graph from around 1920 to 1940. It seems this was a time where the income differential was much less than present day and they want to get back to that time. News flash gentlemen, that was the World War I and Great Depression era. • 12. Effects Of Downsizing Of The Army Downsizing Essay Effects of Downsizing The impact of the Army downsizing is nothing new. This rapid demobilization of forces has transpired after every major conflict. The most recent downsizing effort was from the Persian Gulf. The Army was an incredibly powerful force around 730,000 in 1990 and rapidly downsized to 508,000 in 1995. Once again, the Army is repeating itself, projecting to shrink the active force from 566,000 during the height in 2011 to a speculated 420,000 reaching this in the fiscal year 2017 (Trice, 2015). A disturbing fact is that the unemployment rate for veterans outpaces that of the rest of the country at 6.8% rate verses that of the non veterans of 5.7% (Watson, 2014). The strain of a growing unemployment rate among veterans rapidly increases in small towns throughout the United States especially those where units are deactivating. Economic Effects As the downsizing and restructure of the Army continues, cities all over the country also feel the sting of Soldiers leaving the service. Two cities outside of Fort Benning, Phenix City and Columbus Georgia, have reported they will miss an estimated $229 million dollars in sales due to the elimination of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team (Adams, 2015). Other concerning factors are the civilian employees that currently work on Fort Benning. They may also be out of work due to the restructure. This ripple effect will continue throughout other privately owned businesses. For instance, the apartments Soldiers currently ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Conflict Theory On Society And Human Behavior Conflict theory is the view that the struggle for power in society and human behavior in social contexts results from conflicts between competing groups (Siegel, 2015, pg.198). Ted Bundy always acted alone in his crimes and was never a part of any group that suffered discrimination or oppression by the government. Dr, Carlisle observed that Bundy was a private person who won t open up and reveal himself to others. He doesn t want to be known by others (Ramsland, 2011, pg. 113). The most Bundy ever did was volunteer during his high school and early college years in local political races. Politics gave me the opportunity to be close to people, he said. To be socially involved with them... as a consequence of working with them. You get very close. You drink each night and people sleep with each other. It s a sort of built in social life...In politics you can move between the various strata of society. You can talk and mingle with people to whom otherwise you would have absolutely no access (Michaud Aynesworth, 2000, pg. 11). Marxist or Radical theory The Marxists theory was developed by Karl Marx who believed that modern capitalism had turned workers into a dehumanized mass who lived an existence that was at the mercy of their employers which led him to conclude that the character of every civilization is determined by its mode of production (Siegel, 2015, pg. 199). PROJECT FINDINGS/OUTCOMES/DELIVERABLES With corporate management s financial metrics, which provides previous year s average nursing staff percentage and billing rate, by using the data that are collected from the referral tracking master log to yield each location s expected weekly hours approved and average process days, the potential revenue of 7 days from the referral pipeline can be calculated. As each location s average referral process days is greater than the median, that location has greater possibility to reduce its referral process days, therefore potentially increase the company s revenue (see appendix 4, chart 1 2) Based on the findings, Tucker PDN has the highest average referral process days 62 days and second highest potential revenue of 7 days $14,200 (Staff % × Billing Rate × Expected weekly hours approved); Philadelphia PDN has the third highest average process days 53 days and third highest potential revenue of 7 days $13,900. These two locations are top priorities in term of reducing the referral process days and generating extra revenue. Plus, Harrisburg PDN and Westford PDN can also be considered as priorities, since both locations are also well above the total average referral process days, have a great amount of potential revenue of 7 days in total of $21,000. • 25. Memory and Fortune in the Odyssey When scholars analyze themes of meaning in the Homeric epic The Odyssey, a common area of focus is the significance of memory and forgetting to the story. One interpretation of the text poses that characters being able to remember Odysseus brings about fortunate consequences for the protagonist, while forgetting about him or his deeds leads to negative ones. However, the forgetting of Odysseus s transgressions by the suitor s fathers at the end of the epic contradicts this as Odysseus is spared through it. It is through the juxtaposition of Athena s requests for memory and forgetting, respectively, at the beginning and conclusion of the epic that show the retention of the memory of Odysseus by others is not inherently beneficial nor detrimental to him. Rather, memory is a tool: a double edged sword that can either improve or worsen his condition based on circumstance. What is inherent, however, is the tendency of events to progress, albeit slowly and circuitously, towards the inevitable homecoming of Odysseus, his retaking of the seat of power, and the return to normalcy on Icatha. Memory and forgetting merely serve as a means to achieve that fated end, rather than being objects of meaning themselves. That the remembrance of Odysseus by other characters helps him out later on in the epic is certainly supported by events that transpire in the first half of the story. The action begins with Athena pleading with her father Zeus to release Odysseus from his two decade ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I have spent the majority of my teen life in the gym working out next to many of the physical therapists as they worked and have become quite close to many of them. I have also read the article, A Black Feminist Approach to Biblical Studies by Wilda Gafney, which also interprets and analyzes this specific Bible passage. After interpreting this passage myself and then reading Gafney s work, I can see that we had both seen the story pretty similarly except for that she noticed some specific details in the passage that failed to catch my attention. Her points are strong and compelling but is she looking too deeply into the story? The Book of Judges is thought to be possibly written by Samuel and the purpose of this book is stated to be, to show that God s judgement against sin is certain, and his forgiveness of sin and restoration to relationship are just as certain for those who repent (KJV Study Bible). Judges Chapter Fourteen verses One Twenty is specifically the story of Samson s Feast and Riddle. The author of this passage (thought to be Samuel) is saying that you should not use God s blessings for selfish purposes. It is a special gift for God to give you these strengths and abilities and to use them selfishly is robbing God, the church, and his fellow believers (KJV Study Bible). Newton s Second Laws Newton s first law states that an object at rest will remain at rest unless acted upon by an unbalanced force, and an object in motion will continue to move at a constant speed and in a straight line unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. Before the balloon is blown up, the car is at rest. The unbalanced force, which is the air inside the balloon, causes the car to move. When the car is in motion, it will eventually slow down. This is because the balloon runs out of air. In other words, it stops exerting the unbalanced force that causes the car to move. Friction also slows down the car. After the car was built, the balloon was blown up many times to test the car. In the beginning, the car accelerated fast. However, it became slower, and after a few seconds, it stopped. Newton s second law states that the acceleration of an object depends on the mass of the object and the force applied on the object. The first car that was built had a great amount of mass. The second car that was built had less mass than the first car. The same force was applied to both of the cars. However, the first car did not travel far because it had more mass. In some versions of Ulysses, Ithaca ends with a bold dot clearly placed in the middle of the page. The dot represents a central crux that concerns much of the critical scholarship surrounding the episode; does the novel come to a conclusion? Does Ulysses have a point ? In his accompaniment to the novel, Gifford refers to the dot as a Q.E.D., an abbreviation of the Latin phrase quod erat demonstrandum. The phrase itself translates to that which was to be proved and, in classical logic proofs and syllogisms, a Q.E.D. marks the conclusion of a problem. Gifford and other critics believe that ... Much of the action in the chapter accurately corresponds to the action of Homer s epic; Bloom has to enter his house by a stratagem after forgetting his keys (17.84), like Zeus sign of reassurance the liturgical review of Bloom s day is rewarded by a loud lone crack emitted by the insentient material of a strainveined timber table (Joyce 17.2061 62 [Gifford 566]), and most saliently, Bloom kills Molly s suitors in his own right. Near the end of the chapter, he gives a list of the sequence of men in Molly s life. However, this list comes after a meditation of the ephemerality of human importance. He thinks that each one who enters imagines himself a preceding series even if the first term of a succeeding one, each imagining himself to be first, last, only and alone whereas he is neither first last nor only nor alone in a series originating in and repeated to infinity (17.2128 31). • 43. Comparison Between Good And Evil In Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde Good Vs. Evil in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde The battle line between good and evil runs through the heart of every man. (Solzhenitsyn) In the story Dr.Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson, Dr.Jekyll has this battle of good and evil within himself. He has the idea to separate his evil half known as Mr. Hyde with a potion. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde focuses on duality of man and human nature. Stevenson develops the theme of good and evil throughout the story using the setting, characters, and the city of London. In the beginning of the story Mr. Utterson, a lawyer, and Mr. Enfield, a doctor, are taking their normal sunday stroll, as they are walking they pass by a house that catches their attention. This house seems out of place, to be in the neighborhood they re in because they are in a richer neighborhood and the door on the house looks old and rugged. Which reminds Mr.Enfield of a story of a girl whom he witnessed getting trampled one night, and how he made the evil man who trampled her pay money to cover what he had done. The trampling of the girl is represented as an evil thing. Strangely, the check contained the name of a very respectable man which aroused Enfield s suspicions about the check. Enfield refuses to reveal the name on the check. However we find out that the evil man is actually Hyde and he wrote a check signed by Jekyll. No one has heard of Mr. Hyde so Mr. Utterson makes it his mission to find out more about Mr. Hyde. Utterson is a lawyer and, in fact he is Dr. Jekyll s lawyer he opens a safe that had Jekyll s will in it. He looks over it for a long time. The terms in the will say all of the doctor s possessions are to pass into the hands of his friend Edward Hyde if Dr. Jekyll disappears or has an unexplained absence. Utterson goes to visit Dr. Lanyon. He thinks that Lanyon can explain Dr. Jekyll s relationship to Hyde. Lanyon greets his friend into his home, and the two men talk for a while till Utterson says to Lanyon that they are probably two of the oldest friends that Henry Jekyll has. Lanyon replies that he hasn t seen much of Jekyll for years, ever since Jekyll ...became too fanciful... and ...wrong in mind... (Stevenson,11).Which infers something of the evil act. ... • 45. Difference of Marketing Product and Service The Marketing of product and service are different A product is normally a thing that sold to people and mostly is tangible. Basically, the marketing of product is particularly focused on 4P s in marketing mix namely product, price, place, and promotion (Ehmke Fulton Lusk, n.d.). The marketer needs to analyze the major demand of customers in a specific market in order to find out a product that can respond the market demand. Firstly, it is necessary for marketers to focus on the strength as well as eliminate the vulnerabilities of marketed products in order to improve products to meet customer s demand as much as possible. Secondly, the price is an important factor in product marketing because of the price must be set to match with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I think product and services marketing are significantly different because of characteristic of itself. The first characteristic of services marketing is intangibility; it cannot be seen, touched or felt prior consumption. On the other hands, product marketing is tangible, the customer is able to touch, feel, taste or smell the product either before or after purchasing. For example, when customers walk through a restaurant, they might get the food smell from the restaurant but they cannot know how well of service if they do not buy the menu. Secondly, products can be stored in order to sell to the customer in the next time whereas services marketing mostly are unable to be inventoried, they are perishable. Hence, the value of service always exists at the point when it is required. Therefore, it seems to be very difficult to match supply with demand in service marketing. Thirdly, the other difference of product and services marketing is the level of relationship between the client and provider. Undoubtedly, there is much more personal contact required in services marketing than product marketing. In case of product marketing, customers and sellers may face each other just once time when they are dealing products and they might have no chance to see each other again. However, in services marketing, consumers and service providers may have to see each other frequently throughout until the contract is ended or until the last thing that consumers ... • 46. Pride In The Ottoman Empire As I struggle up this unstable wooden ladder I cannot help but feel a sense of pride in the empire I am defending. In years past, we Turks have slowly been acquiring large amounts of land for the Ottoman Empire and finally conquering Constantinople will validate the triumphs we have earned throughout the west. As a Janissary of the great Ottoman Empire it is my duty to wield my shield and sword to expand this empire that I serve. The crack of guns echoes through the battle and arrows whiz past my armored head. Bodies tumble over the sturdy fortress that encircles Constantinople as I continue scaling the ladder. Nonetheless, I focus on my mission: entering the city walls. Hopefully, the sultan will give us soldiers a chance to loot the Byzantines ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
