Forge - DevCon 2016: Implementing Rich Applications in the BrowserAutodesk
Sebastian Dunkel, Autodesk
Cloud based web applications running in the browser have fundamental advantages over their desktop based siblings: They run on any device and are not tied to a certain operating system. The transition to web applications can solve many of the deployment problems and facilitates effortless real-time collaboration in a connected world.
However, implementing rich browser applications is challenging. Besides general technical limitations, leveraging existing technology is far from trivial. In this presentation we will discuss these and other challenges based on selected browser-based applications developed at Autodesk. Moreover, we will show how Forge technology can help to accelerate application development and improve the development experience.

Taking a look at how the sales process can be optimised, by using the collaboration features in CRM and SharePoint. See how the standard integration looks like and what there are for issues you can have with it. There are several things you can integrate from CRM to SharePoint or vice versa, to gain a better user experience. We will have a look at both APIs, check out other integration options and use-case it on interesting scenarios, to get the best of both worlds.
---------
Throughout the complete sales process, from acquisition to delivery & support, a constant collaboration throughout the whole company is necessary. To gain a better integration experience, the default integration between SharePoint and Dynamics CRM can be enhanced.
The session will show, how it is possible to create folder and metadata structures in SharePoint, when new CRM entities are created and how CRM metadata can be applied to SharePoint documents, for a better search experience. Furthermore, approaches will be presented how notes attachment in CRM can be moved to SharePoint and how complete project portals for CRM entities can be created.
For years, SharePoint has been positioned as a web development platform, but it’s hard to build modern websites using SharePoint’s rigid UI, which is rooted in decade-old WebForms technology. These solutions often break when SharePoint is upgraded, either in a migration from SharePoint 2013 to 2016, or really at any moment with SharePoint online! In this session, you’ll learn how to follow the patterns Microsoft uses in its NextGen portals and build your own modern application using SharePoint and Office 365 as a set of services. These solutions are responsive and can be developed using contemporary ASP.NET MVC technology. Content is stored in SharePoint or Office 365, and is enhanced through the machine learning in Office Graph. You’ll even learn how to include your own line-of-business data without the need for complex BCS configurations. Join us and learn to make your own Next Generation portal backed by SharePoint and Office 365!

Forge - DevCon 2016: Collaborative VR using Google Cardboard & the View & Dat...Autodesk
Kean Walmsley, Autodesk Research
One of the issues with VR today relates to the largely solitary experience it delivers: the user is by definition immersed and isolated from the people around them. But this doesn’t have to be the case. Web technology allows us to enable collaborative design reviews in VR, where one person guides others through a virtual experience.
Google Expeditions allows teachers to take their students on virtual field trips to the Great Wall of China or to the bottom of the ocean. We’ll be showcasing a comparable solution – using Forge – for the design industry, whereby architects and engineers can lead a group of participants – each using Google Cardboard – through a design review in a virtual space.
This session will demonstrate a prototype, collaborative VR solution created by a cross-divisional Autodesk team as part of the 2015 VR Hackathon in San Francisco.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. Container lets us map this issue to a BIM360 Project
in the backdrop issue is linked to Medford Reno project via a ‘container'
container is created when BIM 360 docs project is created
(Joe doesn’t know or care that there is a container)
Go to postmanpostman
1) uses postman to basic issues call https://developer.api.autodesk.com/issues/v1/containers/:container_id/issues?
2) sort[created_at] see Joe’s issue https://developer.api.autodesk.com/issues/v1/containers/:container_id/issues?sort=[created_at]
following shared conventions, you can
increase productivity, take advantage of
generalized tooling, and
focus on what matters: your application.
sort=created_at is an example of this
Clients built around JSON API are able to take advantage of its features around efficiently caching responses, sometimes eliminating network requests entirely.
