This document outlines the lighting design plan for the stage production of "Yerma". It details 64 individual lighting channels that will be used to create effects like warm sunlight and romantic moonlight across different areas of the stage. Each channel is assigned a specific color gel and focus to subtly illuminate parts of the stage. In addition, special lighting fixtures will be used to add dramatic skin tones, highlight spiritual themes in the climax, and provide depth through unusual backlighting during intense moments in the script. The lighting design aims to set a mood and guide the audience's focus through abstract yet meaningful illumination of the stage space.

I am using these lights to create a
dramatic abstract feature but also to
add meaning for the audience. As
Yerma hopes and dreams for a child
her hatred towards her husband
becomes more and more intense. In
the end scene I want these lights to
come into the centre and drop down.
I would like to use a frosted white
bulb for these light that will be
encased in a blown glass tube.

This light is used to create a shaft of
light that will shine from behind any
actor who enters through that specific
door. I have added this light in
response to the dancers and singers
that are in the play so they have a
more poignant entrance.
