FMP Production Diary for Week 1

1. PRODUCTION

2. Week 1
■ I think that at this moment in time I need to do a little bit more research into directors,
producers and other influencers in the film space, all the way from costume designers to poster
artists.
■ I think that at this moment in time I do have a good knowledge of the area that I am looking at
but I think that I could do with a bit more research into the area as my knowledge isn’t the best
that it could be and without the best knowledge I don’t think that I could do my fanzine justice
with the work I am going to make.
■ I think that I need to look into some other areas of the film industry to do justice to the work that
I want to do. I think I am going to look at movie posters as I can use the ideas and techniques
that are used in Hollywood posters to give me the edge in making backgrounds and posters that
can be given with the fanzines like freebies.
■ This week I hope to finish my research and make a start on my proposal for my FMP so that I
have more time to do my primary and secondary research.
■ I think that to improve my work from this work I could have watched some of the pieces of work
by the directors and or people in film and got some of their work and analysed it in the
PowerPoint. I could analyse films byTarantino and Spielberg as well as some posters by Drew
Struzan such as the iconicTheThing poster. I think that this analysis could help to elevate the
level at which my research is at.
