5. Idea Evaluation
Which of your ideas do you want to develop further?
Explain why you think that is the right idea to take forward.
I am going to the second idea forward which is the newspaper, poster and guide. I
have picked this idea as it goes well with my audience and their profile.
I believe a newspaper would be in my audience’s everyday life style or maybe at
work. As they both take their careers very seriously, it is going to be hard to peel
them away from work.
As my audience are not sure what to do in their free time except from go for long
walks, his could be a good chance for them to be able to see a nature reserve close
to them. This way they can see what is happening and might be able to help out or
see what they can do.
8. Developed Idea 1 – Fonts
I won’t be using any of the fonts on the slide above or this slide as they are too informal. They
are very playful and fun. As I will be producing a newspaper, I will be needing a more formal
font for the text for it to look professional and to fit in more with the audience. However, for
the guide and the poster I will chose a different font so then it doesn’t seem so formal.
9. Developed Idea 1 - Colours
Out of all the colours to the left, I have
chosen the top row. I feel it will work better
with the images I have recently been received.
The images are birds in their natural habitat
which means in the greenery so these colours
will link.
The other colours are unsuitable for the
images as they are too light.
10. Assessment of final ideas
Do you think your audience will engage with your ideas?
I have full hope that my audience does engage with the ideas I will come up with. I have
picked out a subtle colour scheme and fonts. The key parts that will engage my audience
are the popping text and images.
Does your idea fulfil the brief your client gave you?
My idea does fulfil the brief as I will create the newspaper cover and include the MP part to
it. The poster will have some general facts on it and a website address. Finally, the guide will
have a few common birds that people may see but don’t think anything of it and a map
with other places with their addresses too.
Is your project practical and manageable in the time you have?
I think I will have enough time to get everything done if I keep on top of it all. If I had
additional time however, I don’t think I would use very wisely. In the last week, will be the
week just make sure everything is sorted.
