Reduction of Four-Wave Mixing in DWDM System using Electro-Optic Phase Modula...IJECEIAES
In this paper, electro-optic phase modulator (EOPM) is used to reduce the effect of four-wave mixing (FWM), which is placed after 64 DWDMchannels multiplexer. It was found that the FWM is very sensitive to the phase deviation of the EOPM, and it can be reduced by introducing a phase shift between pulses. The simulation results confirmed the ability of the EOPM in improving the system performanceas indicated by the bit error rates. In term of comparison, the system of 64 channels based intensity modulated/ direct detection (IM/DD) transmission achieved bit error rate of 10 over 30 km and 70km without and with EOPM, respectively. -26

As demand for higher data rates rises, need to develop more efficient wireless communication systems also rises. The work described in this paper is an effort in this direction. We have proposed a novel orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system based on dual – tree complex wavelet transform (DT-CWT). In the proposed scheme, DT-CWT is used in the place of fast Fourier transform (FFT). The proposed scheme achieves excellent improvements in bit error rate (BER) over conventional OFDM and wavelet packet modulation (WPM) systems. Moreover, the proposed scheme offers the better peak – to – average power ratio (PAPR) performance compared to conventional OFDM and WPM systems at the expense of acceptable computational complexity. The complementary cumulative distribution function (CCDF) of PAPR for the proposed scheme achieves about 3 dB improvement in PAPR over the traditional OFDM and WPM signals at 0.1% of CCDF.

The gain flatness of EDFA plays a very critical role in DWDM system applications in all optical network design. The main purpose of this paper is to achieve gain flatness for 32 channels in order to equalize amplitude gain of DWDM system. This system is simulated using Opti system software to achieve gain flatness of EDFA through variation of EDFA pump power and input power of system. The gains are flattened within 41±0.9 dB from Wavelength range 1546 to 1560 nm having noise figure less than 8dB, Optimized EDFA fiber length of 6.245 m and frequency spacing between channels is 0.4 nm simultaneously amplified in a EDFA of single stage. The working model consists of WDM transmitter , MUX, Pump laser, dual port WDM analyzer and EDFA as key components

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
