Wendy s Crisis Management
On March 22, Wendy s has faced a crisis after a 39 years old woman, Anna Ayala, allegedly
claimed that she had bitten down on a human fingertip in a spoonful of Wendy s chili at a San
Jose location. Within 24 hours, media had the entire story published and broadcasted causing
Wendy s to face the issue of recovering its brand image since then. At the beginning, the police
was still unable to identify whose the finger was and was uncertainty about whether the finger
came from a dead or live person. However, the police was able to initially identify that the object
was assumed to be from a woman because of its long and manicured nail. Furthermore, the
gruesome was preserved enough to draw a sample of DNA and fingerprints.

One mission that Wendy s have to focus on after it became clear that Wendy s was wrongly
accused is to inform the public that Wendy s wasn t the suspect but it was the victim in order to
get its customer back. After the announcement, Wendy s launched a couple new campaigns as
part of its efforts to repair its image showing its customer appreciation. The first effort was that
100,000 Frosty shakes would be given to its customer around San Jose area on April 23 and 24,
the weekend after Ayala had been arrested and other local efforts were direct mail offers,
customer appreciation events, and radio promotions. Diane Weed, the Wendy s Pacific division
vice president, convinced that he want everybody to remember that Wendy s is the same Wendy s
that it s always been. The giveaway is how Wendy s thanking its loyal customers and reassuring
people who may have some doubt or concern.
From every passing day that the mystery of the finger goes unsolved, Wendy s confronted with

national sales was lost only 2 to 2.5 percents (New York Times, April 29, 2005). The stock market

The Mandrake
The Mandrake Name: University Name: Course: Instructor: Date: Two main characters and their
role in this play Machiavelli s Mandragola performance has many exciting characters, in my
opinion, the character that is captivating in this drama is Messer Nicia. The satire associated with
his role kept the entire audience immersed in a barrage of laughter: despite his apparent foolishness
and naivety, he was wealthy with an attractive and charming wife. Through the play, Machiavelli
has wittingly portrayed the perception that knowledge is power through capturing the simplicity
that shows Messer s gullibility. The other characters in the play continuously trick him despite his
affluence. In an illustration, Calimaco conjures up a lie... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Run-Time Array Bound Checking Essay
A Review of Run Time Array Bound Checking Techniques Shaan Shetty School of Electrical and
Computer Engineering Cornell University, Ithaca NY srs383@cornell.edu ABSTRACT C has
been the most popular programming language for the last several decades due to its simplicity
and superior performance. Due to this reason, most legacy software is in C. But in recent times,
several breaches in security and reliability have been found to occur due to lack of memory safety
of the C programming language. Memory corruption bugs in programs can breach security, and
faults in kernel extensions can bring down the entire operating system. Modern languages such as
C# and Java enforce memory safety and hence prevent these security vulnerabilities.... Show more

Austin, Scott E. Breach, and Gurindar S. Sohi [1]. The idea here is to augment the pointer
representation in memory with the bounds of the pointer s target. Spatial safety is enforced by
checking these bounds whenever a pointer is dereferenced. These fat pointers consist of the
following parameters, value: The value of the safe pointer; it may contain any expressible
address., base and size: The base address of the referent and its size in bytes, storageClass: The
storage class of the allocation, either Heap, Local, or Global., capability: When dynamic
variables are created, either through explicit storage allocation (e.g., calls to malloc()) or
through procedure invocations (i.e., a procedure call creates the local variables in the stack
frame of the procedure), a unique capability is issued to that storage allocation. The value
attribute is the only safe pointer member that can be manipulated by the program source; all
other members are inaccessible. base and size are the spatial attributes. storageClass and
capability are the temporal attributes. 1.2CCured CCured is a program transformation system that
adds memory safety guarantees to C programs. It was proposed by George C. Necula, Jeremy
Condit, Matthew Harren, Scott Mcpeak, and Westley Weimer[2]. This approach classifies pointers
as WILD, SEQ and SAFE depending on their usage modes. Pointers which require null check

This brings customers value while they may not really notice it. An easy way for Amazon to
experience a great value proposition for its supply chain is always to control their products. If
amazon could possibly ensure their inventory is always fully stocked, nevertheless, not
overflowing, that may transfer on absolutely free themes. If the inventory is totally stocked, the
value to be able to customer is greater when they have the options to acquire different products.
When the inventory is stuffed, or depleted, absolutely free themes may loose importance as items
can start to cost more as the expense of possessing inventory boost, but not possessing enough

The Ethos Of A Love Story
Love is a feeling that comes to fruition between two people and the story behind the growth of
love between two people is often associated with the culture of their society or societies. In their
short story, Family Stories, authors Steven J. Zeitlin, Amy J. Kotkin, and Holly Cutting Baker
discuss the impact and importance of oral stories passed down through generations. They state,
[Oral stories] are relevant to ... history not only because they convey some factual information, but
because they often capture the ethos of an era (10). This ethos of an era refers to the culture

Indian culture, even more so decades ago, was known for its system of arranged marriages that
primarily focused on the compatibility between families and little on the love between two
potential partners. In their journal article, Gender Scripts and Age at Marriage in India, authors
Sonalde Desai and Lester Andrist discuss the marriage system in India in terms of the gender roles
that men and women play, the impact of family intervention, and how age and economic factors

Failures Of The Articles Of Confederation
In 1776, the Declaration of Independence, drafted by Thomas Jefferson, was formally adopted.
The American Revolution had already been going on with the battles of Lexington and Concord
over a year prior, but the first government of the United States is the Articles of Confederation, a
constitution based on Republican ideas and democracy. The Continental Congress approved the
Articles of Confederation in 1777. It was adopted, written by John Dickinson, but there was a
delay in ratifying it by the states. States like Virginia and Massachusetts had claimed a bunch of
land stretching from the East Coast all the way to the Pacific Ocean as part of their colonial
charters. States like Maryland and Pennsylvania, who did not have these land claims, did not want
to ratify this new national government until the land is relinquished. It was not until in 1781 when
the states officially ratified the Articles of Confederation. From 1781 to 1789, the Articles of
Confederation failed and had created problems in political, economic, and foreign policies, making
this new national government an ineffective government. The Articles of Confederation is a

Enzyme Linked Immunisirbent Assay
The major use of Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) is to titrate antibodies against
specific antigens (Crowther, 1995). This method involves an enzyme, which reacts with a
colourless substrate to form a coloured product, is covalently linked to a specific antibody that
recognises a specific antigen. If the antigen is present, the antibodyenzyme complex will bind to it,
and the enzyme component of the antibody enzyme complex will catalyse the reaction which
results in a coloured product (Berg et al, 2002). The presence of the coloured product indicates that
an antigen is present. The ELISA, which is rapid and convenient, can detect less than a nanogram
(10 9 g) of a protein and can be performed with either polyclonal antibodies, which are antibodies
that can recognise multiple epitopes on any one antigen or monoclonal antibodies, which are
antibodies that can only detect one epitope on the antigen (Guo et al, 2006). However, the use of
monoclonal antibodies gives more reliable and accurate results due to their specificity as
monoclonal antibodies are very effective at acting as the primary antibody in an assay, or for
detecting antigens within a tissue. Also, they will usually result in reduced background staining
compared to that of polyclonal antibodies.
Indirect ELISA and direct ELISA Different types of ELISA s have been developed with
modifications to the basic steps. The key step with the ELISA assay is the direct or indirect
detection of antigen by

The black and white spot of the innocent puppy depicts the dawn whereas the darkness of the night
intervene with the brightness of the morning. In paragraph 1, the color of the whole environment is
grey. The combination of the black and white spot of the puupy is grey. The tension between the
night and morning depicts the life. Life is often compared to the stages of the day dawn (infant),
morning (adulthood), noon (man), dusk (near death) and night (death). It is a contradiction that the
puppy died in the dawn and not in the dusk or evening. It suugest that life is unfair, we could die in
unexpected way like what happen to the puppy, existed from dawn to morning and eventually when
sunrise came the puppy dies. The black and white spots also symbolize the yin yang principle. Two
halves that together complete wholeness. Yin and yangare also the starting point for change. When
something is whole, by definition it is unchanging and complete. So when you split something
into two halves yin / yang, it upsets the equilibrium of wholeness. This starts both halves chasing
after each other as they seek a new balance with each other. The word Yin comes out to mean
shady side and Yang sunny side .Yin Yang is the concept of duality forming a whole. We encounter
examples of Yin and Yang every day. As examples: night (Yin) and day (Yang), female (Yin) and

Complexity Of Cult
To understand the complexity of a cult a person must first understand the meaning of what that
word truly defines. In a dictionary, you would find the meaning of the word as the system of
religious worship or ritual. But if you take this definition literally then a Christian would be
insulted. Just because a person follows Godor a god does not mean they are in a cult. Nevertheless,
the word cult has few different meanings. The structure of a cult has varied differences but the goal
is the same. AS a Christian, I disagree with the term in most dictionaries. Christians describe with
the term found in most dictionaries. Christians describe cults in a different perspective. In our

Stream Restoration Essay examples
Different physical structures may be used in stream restoration in order to provide channel
stability and in order to provide habitat and other beneficial functions. Some of the typical
structures that are used are revetments made of gabions or riprap and woody debris. Each type
of structure has benefits and costs that should be considered before installation and some are
more appropriate in certain situations than others. Gabion revetments are used to control stream
bank erosion. Gabions are stone filled wire baskets that are placed along stream banks. The
typical size of a basked is 3 feet wide by 3 feet tall and the length can vary. They are effective for

Live fascines are most often used on longer slopes (The Ohio Department of Natural Resources).
Another example of a type of structure used is an energy dissipater. An energy dissipater is any
device created to protect the area downstream from erosion by reducing the velocity of the flow.
An effectively designed energy dissipater will restore the flow downstream of the dissipater to a
condition that is close to the natural flow regime. There are two broad categories of energy
dissipaters, those that cause a hydraulic jump and those that are considered to be impact basins
(Tennessee Department of Transportation, 2010). There are many other structures and
techniques that are used in the field of stream restoration. The use of riprap is a common
technique and there are examples of its use locally in San Diego. Additional structures may
serve other purposes such as directing flow or providing habitat. Woody debris, for example can
provide habitat to many animals. Root wads from trees provide excellent hiding areas for
juvenile fish. The stream restoration design and stated objectives will determine what type of
structures will be required to meet the stated project goals. Case Study Forester Creek Forester

Feminism And The Second Wave Of Feminism
Any given person can define feminism in a different way. Some view it as a women s movement
for women, by women and against men. It can also be hard to distinguish the different types of
feminism when the more radical, outspoken people or organizations can overshadow the rest. In
general, feminism is another way in which to view things, another lens in which to see the world. It
is another platform for people to express themselves as whole individuals and become a voice for
others that may otherwise remain unheard. Feminismas a whole takes a look at social constructs
and gender norms and begins to deconstruct them to create an environment that is equal and
accepting of all persons. In the second wave of feminism, many women began to break out of the
roles as housewives and mothers and speak up for equality. Gloria Steinemis among many of the

The Fourth Amendment Protects Citizens From Unreasonable...
The Fourth
Amendment protects citizens from unreasonable search and seizure of property. This ensures that
the government cannot take a private citizen s property without their consent, a warrant or probable
cause. The Fifth Amendment protects private property in two ways. The first, it ensures that a
person cannot be deprived of private property without due process of law. This means that if the
government is to seize private property they must compensate the owner for the property being
seized. The second way it protects a person s property is by limiting eminent domain, or the right of
the government to seize land for public use, with compensation. In order for a plot of land to be
seized it must meet the criteria of eminent domain. This means that the property being seized
must be for the benefit of the public and the owner of the property must receive full, market
priced compensation for the property. Some might argue that Khosla s land should be seized via
eminent domain; however, that would mean that: a. Khosla would need to be compensated more
than $35 million dollars (2015 USD inflation calculated) in taxpayer money for the property and
b. allowing access to a beach does not necessarily benefit the public in the same way building a
road, or an irrigation system would. Critics of Khosla s actions typically claim he is in violation of

A Comparative Look At Space And Law Essay
A Comparative Look at Space and Law
Space means what we want it to mean. Defined by those who occupy it, giving it a purpose and
without it, it is nothing more than an empty area, blank and lifeless. The following two articles
offer different perspectives on the use of this space as it relates to law. In one article, space
provides certain function that determines how those who occupy it are to act, while in another it is
a neutral space and welcoming space representing choice and the freedom; a public stage used to
put on a performance and develop a professional identity.
In Norman Spaulding s article The Enclosure of Justice: Courthouse Architecture, Due Process, and
the Dead Metaphor of Trial, the focus is on adversarial space; the courthouse where confrontation
takes place and justice is administered. With little said about this space Spaulding searches for
deeper, unexplored connections between justice and the space in which it operates. Using a
historical overview, he shows how courtroom structure has become increasingly enclosed signifying
law s liberation from all political, commercial and social aspects. Furthermore, actual courtroom
trials are becoming a dead metaphor as Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) offer better options,
mass processing and immediate justice in private and fully enclosed settings. Spaulding concludes,
complemented by history, there exists a movement towards isolation of traditional courtroom space,
because it eliminates interruption the

Different ways of thinking from composers has led to a greater understanding of the meaning of
wealth. Similarly in Digging composed in 1966 Heaney exemplifies a localised definition of
wealth. Heaney values family, heritage and expertise and ignores the global paradigms. Heaney
uses personal language to depict his family is hardworking but not wealthy, symbolised by the
paper cork. Despite this however the tone of the poem remains positive and admiration is
depicted in the line by God that man could handle a spade. Imagery and onomatopoeia contribute
also to Heaney s admiration for his families work a clean rasping sound. Although throughout the
poem there is a change from parochial to a potential more global influence moving from the local
to global. Refusing to limit himself to his families career. Contrastingly in funeral Rites written in

definition of worth in response to global violence by valuing peace and unity. (textual detail ,add

Mean Girls Reponse
Mean Girls Reponse Mean girls is a very influential movie in America and the majority of people
have either watched it or know what it entails. Many people see this movie as a funny satirical
and exaggerated take on American high school but in reality it has a much deeper meaning to it.
The movie revolves around a transfer student ,Cady, who had grown up in Africa and was home
schooled her entire life. It shows her pretending to be friends with the popular group The
Plastics so that she can find out their secrets and report back to her other, less popular friends.
However, in the end she becomes sucked into the group and starts to treat everyone else in the
same horrible ways The Plastics do. This movie opened my eyes and help me to gain a
sociological perspective into the high schools in America. I was able to notice all of the different
norms, values, and types of cultures that make up high school. While teenagers in high school have
their own type of culture there are also many subcultures that make up the school. An example of a
time in which the audience sees these subcultures is when the... Show more content on

The plastics represent the dominant culture in the high school. They are the group that most of the
people in the school aspire to be and they also somewhat set the norms. This is exemplified when
Regina s shirt has hole cut into her shirt. Once she wears the ripped shirt once the rest of the school
follows by cutting their own shirts and it turns into a new trend. On the other hand the art freaks
represent the counterculture because they are the ones that see how horrible The Plastics really are
and who try to break the dominant culture. The audience can see this counter culture when they
device a plan to break up The Plastics. They use the new student Cady to pretend to be friends and
gain information about them to help them down the line to bring down the dominant

This is a press release from Assemblymember Cristina Garcia that states that she has introduced a
bill in order to make feminine hygiene products exempt from sales tax. She writes that this is
being done in order to eliminate the tampon tax and bring more gender equity to California s tax

tampons and sanitary napkins, paying on average seven dollars a month for forty years, and Garcia
writes that this especially affects women with less money and that taxing these items is a form of
discrimination not only against women, but also those who are not privileged. The report points

Essay On Non Profit Hospitals
There are several things that people in America are unaware about, one of them being the
difference between non profit and profit hospitals. There is a lot of difference but at the same
time, there are a lot of similarities between non profit and for profit hospitals like one being that
they both are trying to find a way to budget and analyze to government spending and still be able
to assist in patient care. The purpose of this paper is to educate members about the comparison and
difference between non profit and profit hospitals. This paper will educate, inform, and improve
the idea of non profit and profit hospitals.
Non profit hospitals are hospitals that are not charged state and local property taxes. They are
affiliated with lower income populations and people who not all of the time have insurance to
cover their health care. Non Profit hospitals are considered charitable hospitals but can sometimes
make out to be a million dollar hospital depending on the location and type of facility that is being
owned. Not for profit hospitals are publically owned primarily by privately owned hospitals known
as for profit facilities. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This status provides a number of financial benefits, including exemption from federal and state

are tax deductible to the donor and may benefit from tax exempt bond financing. The standard
hospitals must meet to receive and maintain nonprofit status is ambiguous and not easily amenable
to either oversight or enforcement. There is strong evidence that many nonprofit hospitals do not
operate in ways that are significantly different from those of hospitals that are operated as profit

Knowing one s level of competencies in every area helps in determining whether to keep it up or

Agreeableness (e) Conscientiousness. The Models are also further divided into six (6) facets each.
This helped in explaining the criteria used in arriving at the results of the report. The explanations
of the scores from the report are written below.
For extraversion, my score was high, which indicated me as a sociable, outgoing, energetic and

Analysis Of The Film The Social Network
Essay 4: The Social Network Critique
The film that we watched in class is called The Social Network. Directed by David Fincher and
released in 2010, it is an informative film which attempts to shed light on the real story behind the
creation and rise of Facebook, starting from the beginning and revealing all the possibly hidden or
not as well known facts behind it. Though some of the movie may be Hollywoodized and
exaggerated for a dramatic depiction, with exceptional acting and a compelling story, it does a
fantastic job of informing viewers all about Facebook while still engrossing them in the story and
captivating their interest.
The movie opens up on a scene when Mark Zuckerberg, played by Jesse Eisenberg, is dumped by
his girlfriend Erica Albright after an argument. From this moment, a long chain of events is set
into motion that ultimately lead to the success of one of the most prominent and influential
social media sites in internet and communication history. After Mark is dumped, he is humiliated
and set on obtaining revenge. From his anger, he, along with his only real friend Eduardo
Saverin, who is played by Andrew Garfield, work to create a website that will serve as payback
for his girlfriend breaking up with him. Created on October 28, 2003, the site that they create is
called Facemash, which is the very first version of Facebook. Originally made to be a site for

The Yellow Wallpaper Response
A short story is engaging, if its focus is on one character, a variety of literary devices are used to
show rather than tell a story and an impressive and well built plot. To prove my point of view, I
will use The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. Firstly, a short story is satisfying if it
revolves around a single character. The Yellow Wallpaper
is about Jane , who is suffering from
postpartum depression, but doctors misdiagnosis it as hysteria and prescribes perfect bed rest and
isolation. She is staying in a bedroom which has yellow wallpaper. Being trapped in bed, isolated
from others except for her husband and husband s sister, staying away from her baby, in this
situation her only activity is to look at the wallpaper which she describes as It is dull enough to

Gradually, she starts to think that there is a woman trapped behind the yellow wallpaper who
wants to come outside. She tears down the wallpaper so that woman is free from imprisonment.
Secondly, the use of figurative language is crucial for an impressive pleasurable short story. For
instance, in The Yellow Wallpaper Charlotte uses delicious garden, atrocious nursery, blessed
little goose, mysterious deep shaded arbors, the riotous old fashioned flowers, gnarly trees etc.
About the paper she expresses her feeling as this paper looks to me as if it knew what a vicious
influence it had, the pattern lolls look like a broken neck and two bulbous eyes. Up and down and
sideways they crawl, and those absurd unblinking eyes are everywhere . Afterward, she thinks that

prosperous future. Yet many people forget that while you are looking for a place in collegeto call

everything you ve ever dreamed of that can build your life like no other place in the world is a

themselves to see just what they can best use about themselves and how to apply that in real life.

The Confederate Flag And The Civil War
The Confederate Flag
The Confederate Flag is the symbol for the Southern state in the Civil War. It is not just pieces of
material. The flag represent families and where they came from. Flags have been a part of history
since the beginning of time and the Confederate flag is a large part of the United States history.
People need to learn what the flag has represented. The true meaning. Not what they think the flag
has represented. Teaching the meaning of the Confederate flag needs to start in the schools with
young children. Without knowing the true history and meaning of the Confederate flag the war
over the flag may never stop. People cannot change history by removing a flag from a pole, it is
history and history will never change. Society can move forward by educating people on the
Confederate flag and change the way future generations view this traditional symbol of the South.
With heightened controversy today over the removal of the Confederate flag, it is important to
understand the history of it. This history of the Confederate Flag, also known as the Confederate
battle Flag dates back to the Civil War. The original 11 Confederate States of Americaincluded;
Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, South Carolina, North Carolina,

Equipment Depreciation
Purchasing equipment is one of the biggest expenses that small businesses and start ups face. The
IRS allows you deduct most or all of these expenses. This in turn helps you recoup the cost
associated with running your business. Moreover, by taking this deduction when you prepare your
tax return, it lowers your overall taxbill. In some cases, especially for small businesses, the
deductions could result in a refund.
There are different ways to expense business equipment when filing taxes, which can often lead to
confusion. If you re unsure how the deductions will affect your business, hiring a tax accountant is
a good idea. Mistakes or miscalculations when filing your tax return could trigger an IRS audit. A
professional can lessen the stress and time constraints during the tax preparation season.

Under Section 179, the IRS allows you to deduct the full price of the equipment you purchased or

equipment from your company s gross income.
Your company must have a taxable income before you can use the 179 deduction. Additionally,
there is a cap on the deduction set at $500,000 that you can claim. There is also a maximum of
$2,010,000 for business equipment expenses during the year that Section 179 is claimed. Most
small business will not spend this amount on equipment during the early years of being in business,
which is why this deduction is so valuable.

The Steam Train
Railways are one of the fastest ways to travel. From the first steam train in England, to the
subways of New York City, people have been fascinated by the speeds of the Iron Horse . One of
the most influential forms of rail transportation was the steam train. This train changed the world
with its ability to make rail transportation available to the public, travel at high speeds, and haul
heavy loads.
Though the first public railways were built in England, one of the most significant public
railways was the American Transcontinental Railroad. Before this railroad was built, slower,
more inconvenient forms of transportation had to be used such as horse and wagon. The
construction of this historic railway began in 1863. Workers built westward from the town of
Omaha, Nebraska and at the same time they built eastward from Sacramento, California. The end
result was 2,900 kilometers of rails. Before this railroad was built, one would have to take a
wagon, horse, or a combination of shorter railroads and several ships to reach the other side of the
country. Where the builders met working from east and west, both sides of the rails were sealed
together with golden nails on May tenth, 1869 in northern Utah. The point where the two rails met
is now a national monument. The railroad took six years to build. It was the invention of the steam
engine that enabled the development of the railroad.

Legal Issues In Amistad
Amistad
Amistad is a film produced by Steven Spielberg the person who created E.T and Jurassic park. la
Amistad is based on the true story of the events in 1839 aboard the slave ship Amistad, during
which Mende tribesmen abducted for the slave trade managed to gain control of their captors ship
off the coast of Cuba, and the international legal battle that followed their capture by a U.S. revenue
cutter. The case was ultimately resolved by the Supreme Court in 1841.
The plot was that a Spanish slave ship called Amistad was traveling from Cuba to the U.S. As the
ship is crossing from Cuba to the United States, Cinque, a leader of the Africans, leads a mutiny
and takes over the ship. The mutineers spare the lives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the astonishing facts revealed in Steven Spielberg s Amistad is that seven of the nine U.S.
Supreme Court justices in 1839 were slave owning Southerners. His new film centers on the legal
status of Africans who rise up against their captors on the high seas and are brought to trial in a
New England court. Slavery itself is not the issue. Instead, the court must decide whether the
defendants were born of slaves (in which case they are guilty of murder) or were illegally
brought from Africa (and therefore had a right to defend themselves against kidnapping). This
legal distinction is not made as clear as it could have been; the international slave trade had been
outlawed by treaties by 1839, the year of the landmark Amistad incident, but those who were
already slaves remained the property of their masters as did their children. The moral hair splitting
underlying that distinction is truly depraved, but on it depends the defense of Cinque, the leader
of the Africans, and his fellow mutineers. The film opens on the ship Amistad, where Cinque is
able to free himself from shackles and release his fellow prisoners. They rise up against the
Spanish crew of the ship, which is taking them from a Havana slave market to another destination
in Cuba. The two men who bought them are spared, and promise to guide the ship back to Africa.

Observation On A Restaurant

church had just gotten let out, and families were going to get food somewhere.
Through my personal experiences, I know that Freddie s is a popular place to go on a Sunday. The
owner s daughter, Stephanie Cannon, is my middle brother s girlfriend (also my broker), and she
worked at the restaurant on its busiest days. She explained to me that many families enjoy
gathering at Freddie s for a traditional breakfast after their church service is finished. She also

buffets. I also know the owners, Mark and Sue Cannon, very well because they are obviously
Stephanie s parents. Our families have been very close ever since I was a little kid, and we ve

there occasionally. It s nice because we don t even have to pay.

Impact Of The Enlightenment Ideas On The American Revolution
If the Enlightenment thinkers never shared their inspiring government and political ideas, it is
expected that the United States would be extremely different then it is today. The Enlightenment
was a time when many new ideas on the freedom of people, how governments should be ran, and
how people should be involved in government decisions were introduced. The people who majorly
voiced these ideas were John Locke, Voltaire, Montesquieu, Rousseau, and Adam Smith. Primary
views that all these leading Enlightenment thinkers proposed, were the separation of powers, checks
and balances, the Social Contract, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, that government is
separate from economy, and natural rights. When Enlightenment ideas started to spread, many
groups of people were motivated into revolting against their governments, especially ones ruled by
absolute monarchies. The colonist in America were inspired by the Enlightenment ideas of Adam

dreams that get individuals to confuse both dreaming and waking state. Descartes explains in his
text; I have been tricked by exactly similar thoughts while asleep!...I see plainly that there are never
any sure signs by means of which being awake can be distinguished from being asleep. (Descartes,
1996). Furthermore, Nagel raises another question would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

words: would a dream necessarily seem different from reality ? Everything in the movie looks like

Basketball Personal Narrative
Basketball my 6th grade year was rough. It was my very first year ever playing sports. Since I
went to a small elementary school everyone made the team and I was the only 6th grade student
that joined I was so nervous the first practice my hands were shaking way faster than I could run.
The rest of the girls were eighth graders that had a ball thrown at them the second the exited the
womb; let me just tell you that season sucked. Even though I cried after every game because I
wasn t good enough and in practice always crossed the finish line last I still somehow loved the
game. It wasn t the only game I loved though; I also loved soccer. After I kept the benches warm
6th grade year I decided I was going to work hard. I started running a mile at least once a week.
Which turned into two miles after I filled a few buckets of sweat after a couple weeks. I had
convinced my uncle to let me be a substitute on his indoor soccer team since I already missed
tryouts. I loved indoor soccer so much and that s when I began to really start improving. I scored
my first goal that season with five others after. I loved the feeling of putting in every drop of
work I could into a game that I truly loved. Travel soccer didn t only make me betterat sports but I
improved as a person. I began to be more positive, I worked... Show more content on

Even though I worked a lot that s when I realized I hadn t barely touched a basketball since the year
before. I beat myself up about that all day in class until after school when it was time. I went to
the first practice terrified expecting it to be last year all over again; that didn t happen. This year
I was the first to finish running, instead of the last. I was ten times more aggressive and confident
in myself when I was told to try something new. Somehow I knew how to dribble the basketball ten
times better, and my defense was great. I went home so

* Data Redundancy Relationships General a database has a lot of tables and some tables are
related to each other so relationship is use to make the connection between two or more tables.
It is a method to avoid excessive data and to ensure the data integrity. There have three types of
relationships: * One to One For example, one employee only has one ID and one ID only for
one employee. In many case, One to One relationship is for reduce the time to searching data. *
One to Many Simply, One to Many means one thing or one person has many relations with other.
For example, one department can have many employees. * Many to Many Many to Many is
different with other two. To build Many to Many relationship you need to have at least three
tables. It is because Many to Many cannot make the connection directly. For example, a student
can choose many course but a course can have many student too so you cannot actually link
them together. To link them, you will need a table to transfer data so the relationship will
become Many to One and One to Many . * Normalisation It is a design method that used to avoid
data redundancy and eliminate uncoordinated relationship. Normalisation has six stages to help
with separate data which are UNF, 1NF, 2NF, 3NF, BCNF, 4NF and 5NF. * UNF is the first stage
which is unnormalised; * 1NF is to remove the repeating groups; *

Romanticism In Sense And Sensibility
In the eighteenth century, reason and emotion no longer worked together. Emotion was kept down
and was considered inferior. Social conventions were more important than individual convictions.
In other words people considered form more significant than content. As regard art, this period was
called Classical period. The opposite of this was slowly being prepared to burst out at the time of
the French Revolution. This period was called Romantic.
What Romanticism tried to do was stir all the way through the Age of Reason so in this case man
and nature became fused through participation in the one mighty being , so that the most elemental
natural objects became humanised . The term of sensibility emerged as a concept in the
Enlightenment Era but continued to be defined during the Romantic period and beyond. This new
concept describes people s capacity to be affected by the world around them. It also directly
correlates their emotional capabilities with their moral development. A high moral standard should
result in an appropriate emotional response. What was considered appropriate was different for men
and women, however. People thought that sensibility led ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

and acts inappropriately, while her sister, Elinor reacts with too much prudence. Eventually, both
sisters are rewarded with marriage once they learn how to regulate the appropriate amount of
emotional response and gain knowledge through experience. Moreover, we can observer that both
concepts are necessary in order to act in a correct way. The author tries to show the readers how
important sense is in our lives. Not only can we act through our reason but also we need to take

Re: what can a person do under the power of attorney in terms of gift transfers
Relevant Facts
Our client Mark Down had our firm do a will for him several years ago that gives all of his assets
to his children (his wife died previously). He also executed a power of attorney, giving his son,
Slowe, the power to handle all of his financial assets. Slowe called and told me that old Mark s
health is starting to deteriorate and although he s still healthy, Slowe is worried that Mark may
need Medicaid assistance sometime in the future. Therefore, he wants to try to remove Mark s
assets (which consist mainly of a $300,000 brokerage account) from his name and give his assets
to his children. Slowe told me that Mark ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As stated in NY gen Oblig Law 5 1502 (M) as gifts to out the principal s financial, estate or tax
plans. The nephew did not follow through with this statute. Mr. Ferrara s will clearly states that he
wanted to his assets to go to charity and not family.
The court determined that notwithstanding the addendum removing the $10,000 limitation, the
nephew did not make transfers in the Principle s best interest as required by statute.
Application to Our Case
In our case Mr. Mark Downs has a will that states since his wife has passed previously then his
surviving children are to receive all his assets including Slowe. So even though Slowe is the
power of attorney, he can and should transfer the assets. Under the NY Gen Oblig Law 5 1501 it
is stated clearly that the attorney in fact can make self gifts as long as it is in the principle s best
interest, as well as minimizing income estate. In 1996 the Legislature amended 5 1501(1) adding
M, authorizing the attorney in fact to make gifts to the principle s spouse, children, remote
descendants and parents not to exceed $10,000 in any year. This addition feels that giftgiving is
meant that the principal authorizes the attorney in fact to make gifts either out right or to a trust for
the sole benefit of one or more specific persons only for the purposes which the agent reasonably
deems to be in the best interest of the principal, specifically including minimization of income
estate, inheritance, generation skipping transfer

Run-Time Array Bound Checking Essay A Review of Run Time Array Bound Checking Techniques Shaan Shetty School of Electrical and Computer Engineering Cornell University, Ithaca NY srs383@cornell.edu ABSTRACT C has been the most popular programming language for the last several decades due to its simplicity and superior performance. Due to this reason, most legacy software is in C. But in recent times, several breaches in security and reliability have been found to occur due to lack of memory safety of the C programming language. • 10. Enzyme Linked Immunisirbent Assay The major use of Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) is to titrate antibodies against specific antigens (Crowther, 1995). This method involves an enzyme, which reacts with a colourless substrate to form a coloured product, is covalently linked to a specific antibody that recognises a specific antigen. If the antigen is present, the antibodyenzyme complex will bind to it, and the enzyme component of the antibody enzyme complex will catalyse the reaction which results in a coloured product (Berg et al, 2002). The presence of the coloured product indicates that an antigen is present. The ELISA, which is rapid and convenient, can detect less than a nanogram (10 9 g) of a protein and can be performed with either polyclonal antibodies, which are antibodies that can recognise multiple epitopes on any one antigen or monoclonal antibodies, which are antibodies that can only detect one epitope on the antigen (Guo et al, 2006). However, the use of monoclonal antibodies gives more reliable and accurate results due to their specificity as monoclonal antibodies are very effective at acting as the primary antibody in an assay, or for detecting antigens within a tissue. Also, they will usually result in reduced background staining compared to that of polyclonal antibodies. This ensures that the government cannot take a private citizen s property without their consent, a warrant or probable cause. The Fifth Amendment protects private property in two ways. The first, it ensures that a person cannot be deprived of private property without due process of law. This means that if the government is to seize private property they must compensate the owner for the property being seized. The second way it protects a person s property is by limiting eminent domain, or the right of the government to seize land for public use, with compensation. From the first steam train in England, to the subways of New York City, people have been fascinated by the speeds of the Iron Horse . One of the most influential forms of rail transportation was the steam train. This train changed the world with its ability to make rail transportation available to the public, travel at high speeds, and haul heavy loads. Though the first public railways were built in England, one of the most significant public railways was the American Transcontinental Railroad. Before this railroad was built, slower, more inconvenient forms of transportation had to be used such as horse and wagon. The construction of this historic railway began in 1863. Workers built westward from the town of Omaha, Nebraska and at the same time they built eastward from Sacramento, California. The end result was 2,900 kilometers of rails. Before this railroad was built, one would have to take a wagon, horse, or a combination of shorter railroads and several ships to reach the other side of the country. Where the builders met working from east and west, both sides of the rails were sealed together with golden nails on May tenth, 1869 in northern Utah. The point where the two rails met is now a national monument. The railroad took six years to build. It was the invention of the steam engine that enabled the development of the railroad. The case was ultimately resolved by the Supreme Court in 1841. One of the astonishing facts revealed in Steven Spielberg s Amistad is that seven of the nine U.S. Supreme Court justices in 1839 were slave owning Southerners. His new film centers on the legal status of Africans who rise up against their captors on the high seas and are brought to trial in a New England court. Slavery itself is not the issue. Instead, the court must decide whether the defendants were born of slaves (in which case they are guilty of murder) or were illegally brought from Africa (and therefore had a right to defend themselves against kidnapping). This legal distinction is not made as clear as it could have been; the international slave trade had been outlawed by treaties by 1839, the year of the landmark Amistad incident, but those who were already slaves remained the property of their masters as did their children. The moral hair splitting underlying that distinction is truly depraved, but on it depends the defense of Cinque, the leader of the Africans, and his fellow mutineers. The film opens on the ship Amistad, where Cinque is able to free himself from shackles and release his fellow prisoners. They rise up against the Spanish crew of the ship, which is taking them from a Havana slave market to another destination in Cuba. In many case, One to One relationship is for reduce the time to searching data. * One to Many Simply, One to Many means one thing or one person has many relations with other. For example, one department can have many employees. * Many to Many Many to Many is different with other two. To build Many to Many relationship you need to have at least three tables. It is because Many to Many cannot make the connection directly. For example, a student can choose many course but a course can have many student too so you cannot actually link them together. To link them, you will need a table to transfer data so the relationship will become Many to One and One to Many . * Normalisation It is a design method that used to avoid data redundancy and eliminate uncoordinated relationship. Social conventions were more important than individual convictions. In other words people considered form more significant than content. As regard art, this period was called Classical period. The opposite of this was slowly being prepared to burst out at the time of the French Revolution. This period was called Romantic. What Romanticism tried to do was stir all the way through the Age of Reason so in this case man and nature became fused through participation in the one mighty being , so that the most elemental natural objects became humanised . He also executed a power of attorney, giving his son, Slowe, the power to handle all of his financial assets. Slowe called and told me that old Mark s health is starting to deteriorate and although he s still healthy, Slowe is worried that Mark may need Medicaid assistance sometime in the future. Therefore, he wants to try to remove Mark s assets (which consist mainly of a $300,000 brokerage account) from his name and give his assets to his children. Slowe told me that Mark ... Mr. Ferrara s will clearly states that he wanted to his assets to go to charity and not family. The court determined that notwithstanding the addendum removing the $10,000 limitation, the nephew did not make transfers in the Principle s best interest as required by statute. Application to Our Case In our case Mr. Mark Downs has a will that states since his wife has passed previously then his surviving children are to receive all his assets including Slowe. So even though Slowe is the power of attorney, he can and should transfer the assets. Under the NY Gen Oblig Law 5 1501 it is stated clearly that the attorney in fact can make self gifts as long as it is in the principle s best interest, as well as minimizing income estate. In 1996 the Legislature amended 5 1501(1) adding M, authorizing the attorney in fact to make gifts to the principle s spouse, children, remote descendants and parents not to exceed $10,000 in any year. This addition feels that giftgiving is meant that the principal authorizes the attorney in fact to make gifts either out right or to a trust for the sole benefit of one or more specific persons only for the purposes which the agent reasonably deems to be in the best interest of the principal, specifically including minimization of income estate, inheritance, generation skipping transfer ...
