College Essay On Becoming A Technician
My essay
I have always been really good in school. I was always into sports as well. I would be the first
person in my family of 4 kids to go to a collage. I would have surpassed my parents since they
both didn t finish high school. They always push me and motivate me to further my education as
much as possible. I agree with them, I think the more you learn, study, and develop skills the more
you deserve to earn.
My biggest and most important career goal at the moment is becoming a technician. I want to go to
either UVU or Weber State University. They have very good automotive programs in those schools.
I know they can help me develop my skills to a level where I can make really good money. I plan
to get my barber license so i can work in

Montreal Case Study
Hey there! Long time, no see. With June right around the corner, the Montreal Canadiens enter
one of their most crucial periods in years specifically for general manager Marc Bergevin. The
draft will yield some high end prospects, and pave the way for one or more massive trades. Max
Pacioretty and others may be on the move, and the Canadiens roster may have a vastly different
look come training camp. We took to Twitter to ask you, the fans, want to hear about most. We took
your suggestions, and compiled them into the first edition of HC Mailbag. At what point did
Montreal go from being the most progressive organization in drafting developing talent to one of
the most conservative? (@jprterp) This first question relates to Montreal s... Show more content on

Most pundits don t believe Tavares wants to come to Montreal. Poor weather, potholes, high

one of the most deep teams in the league on the wings, and has two of the best and most revered
players on defense and in nets. Drouin, Galchenyuk, Gallagher, Zadina/Svechnikov, Pacioretty,
Hudon, Lehkonen, Scherbak, Byron, Shaw, Carr. That is the definition of deep. Not everyone
on this list will be a Canadien by September, you can screenshot this for future reference. Add
Shea Weber, Carey Price, Petry, and young up and comers in Mete and Juulsen, and you have
yourself a pretty competitive team. Health is key, and proper deployment will ensure optimal
performance from the team s constituents. Obviously there are glaring holes. The number one
centre, and the number one left defenseman. Drouin could slot in as the 2C behind a true 1C. He
was winning more faceoffs, was more confident down the middle, and posted 13 points in his last
14 contests last season. With less pressure, he could really thrive between, say, Galchenyuk and

The Role Of Identity In The Sorrowful Woman
Identity What is an identity? Some people claim you re born with it, other says that your
identity is molded throughout your lifetime. An identity is what makes you the person that you
are. When someone describes you to someone else, they are describing your identity. The morals
that you live by, and the way you live your life is your identity. Many different factors make your
identity different from everyone else s. I think this because everyone goes through different
events in their life and that s what alters a person s identity. In ordinary language, at least, one can
use identity to refer to personal characteristics or attributes that cannot naturally be expressed in
terms of a social category, and in some contexts certain categories can be described as identities
even though no one sees them as central to their personal identity. (Fearon, James D) In The
Sorrowful Woman the wife goes through a very traumatic experience which changes her forever.
During the story she goes insane because of her living conditions and the way her husband treats
her. He gives her some kind of poison that makes her act differently. This causes her to seclude
herself from the family and she becomes a completely different person than what she was before.
From context clues you can tell she used to be a loving mother and used to care about her family.
She died as someone she wasn t. I study has been done to prove that health can cause an identity
change. Identity conflict, or the

Ordered Successive Interference Cancellation ( Osic ) Is...
Abstract In this paper, ordered successive interference cancellation (OSIC) is adopted with
minimum mean square error (MMSE) detection to enhance the multiple input multiple output
(MIMO) system performance. The optimum detection technique increases the system complexity
with improved error rate performance. Therefore, MMSE OSIC detection is used which gives
reduced error rate compared to traditional MMSE with a considerable level of complexity. The
system performance is analyzed in a composite fadingenvironment which deals with multipath and
shadowing, known as Weibull gamma (WG) fading environment. Along with the composite fading,
a composite noise i.e. additive white generalized Gaussian noise (AWGGN) model is taken into
account to form various noise scenarios such as impulsive, Gamma, Laplacian, Gaussian and
uniform noise. Consequently, generalized Q function is used to develop such noise scenario. The
average symbol error probability (ASEP) of MIMOsystem is computed for 16 quadrature amplitude
modulation(16 QAM) using MMSE OSIC detection in WG fading with AWGGN. Analytical
expressions are evaluated in terms of Fox H function (FHF). These expressions demonstrate the best
fit to simulation results.
Keywords MIMO, MMSE OSIC, WG fading, AWGGN, M QAM, ASEP.

Deregulation Created the Subprime Mortgage Crisis
Deregulation Created the Subprime Mortgage Crisis The mid 1990s saw an economic revival.
What incited this activity was a technology boom like no other. It created a new era of
electronics and computing. There were cell phones, desktop and laptop computers, the Internet,
electronic games, flat panel TVs and major advances in business software and efficiencies. The
housing industry was a big benefactor of this new economy. Home prices began to rise again by
1996. The rate of home ownership during the 1970s, 1980s and the first half of the 1990s
averaged 64.4 percent. The rate began to rise in 1995, peaking at 69.2 percent in 2004. New
housing rebounded. The economic turnaround brought California hit especially hard by the last...

As reported by the Washington Post s Robert O Harrow Jr. and Brady Dennis in an article titled,
The Beautiful Machine , Financial Products unleashed techniques that others on Wall Street rushed
to emulate, creating vast, interlocking deals that bound together financial institutions in ways that
no one fully understood and contributed to the demise of its parent company (AIG) as a private
enterprise...many of the most compelling aspects of the economic cataclysm can be seen through
the story of AIG and its Financial Products unit: the failure of credit rating firms, the absence of
meaningful federal regulation, the mistaken belief that private contracts did not pose systemic risk,
the veneration of computer models and quantitative analysis. However, a November 13, 2009
column by Edward Pinto in the Wall Street Journal blames Congress and affordable housing
programs, Congress s goal was to force these two government sponsored enterprises (GSEs Fannie
Mae and Freddie Mac) to purchase loans that had been originated by banks loans that were made
under the pressure of another federal law, the 1977 Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), to
increase lending in low and moderate income communities...from 1977 to 1991, $9 billion in local

A National Identity Crisis- Research Paper
A National Identity Crisis? Humans from various parts of the globe, including the Western
hemisphere, arrived tens of thousands of years ago. These people belonged to different cultures,
different groups, and spoke different languages. They settled in places where they could find water
and food. It s often thought that migration and immigrationare the same and immigration came out
of migration, which is NOT true. During seasons, birds migrate from one place to another. Once
the season is over, they come back to their home. People from Mexico get into the United States
during the harvest season and once their job is complete, they return home. If these Mexicans did

As the migration patterns reflected economic, social, and political development, the regulations
for the number of immigrants and various types of immigrants were being strictly formulated.
Most of the least attractive jobs in the country are being manned by illegal immigrants as they
work at very low wages, sometimes even below the stipulated minimum wage. The employers try
to exploit the situation of these laborers and make their personal pockets bulge with profits.
Moreover, these illegal immigrants, as they are not legally attached to any payroll, they do not pay
any taxes or any fee to the government. Illegal immigrants do not have proper health coverage, and
thereby could not get medical attention when needed. So, they tend to land up in emergency room,
which finally falls on legal taxpayers to bear the burden. Also, diseases which are not quite
common in this country get into the country via the illegal immigrants posing a gigantic health
threat. Another pile of cost to the taxpayers is children born to these illegal immigrants in this
country. Taxpayers are left to scramble the rummages out of the ruin, while these parents quietly sit
and watch. One of the main reasons why people illegally cross the border is that to get in legally, it
is very difficult unless otherwise highly qualified. Despite all the unwanted situations that occur for
an illegal immigrant, if caught, they are

Greek and Roman Military Influences in Modern Warfare
Current militaries have benefitted from the principles of ancient Greek and Roman warfare by
studying the ancient battles, tactics, and use of supplies to develop effective military plans. Current
militaries study and debate historical turning points of the ancient battles to understand how the
leaders planned and executed battles. The empires growth was due in part to the might and
successes of their military. The strength of their militaries came from many factors including their
use of armor, weapons, and military tactics. The empires leaders used these three advantages to
create the superior armies of their time. An important contributing factor to an army s success is
armor for defense. An army can have skilled soldiers, but cannot be successful without the right
armor. Roman and Greek armies wore similar types of armor. The Roman and Greek foot
soldiers wore a square breastplate on their torso. While the Romans only wore one greave on
their left leg, Greeks wore greaves on both legs. A greave was a sheet of metal worn to protect
the legs (Horsepower: Harnessed...). Soldiers wear greaves even in current day. Recently, the
greaves have been upgraded to protect the legs from Improvised explosive devices, such as those
in Iraq (Frost, Quad Guard). Roman soldiers wore a helmet that protected the neck, and came
around to protect their face. The Greek s helmets were more full and protective than the Roman
helmets. Greek helmets covered their entire head and only left small

False Accusations In The Crucible
Infused with mystery, fear grim facts and records, Witchcraft history can be traced back to
centuries. During the Salem Witch Trials, false accusations were being spread around leading to
the community of Salem to be filled with fear and death. In his novel, The Crucible, Arthur Miller
argues that making false accusations and rumors can ruin a person s reputation, and eventually, a
community. First, Miller establishes his criticism of false accusations through his negative
portrayal of characters who engage in this practice. Reverand Parris daughter, Betty Parris, became
sick after she and other girls went into the forest. Abigail was one of the girls that went into the
forest with her. Parris was asking if her reputation was clean. Parris... Show more content on

Marshal Herrick enters the Salem jails nearly drunk and tries to wake Sarah Good up. While
doing this, he wakes up Tituba. As they were talking, A bellowing cow was heard. Tituba says,
Oh, it be no Hell in Barbados. Devil, him be pleasure man in Barbados, him be singin and dancin
in Barbados. It s you folks you riles him up round here; it be too cold round here for that Old
Boy. He freeze his soul in Massachusetts, but in Barbados he just as sweet and A bellowing cow
is heard, and TItuba leaps up and calls to the window: Aye, sir! That s him Sarah! (Miller 113).
Tituba mistakes the bellowing cow as the devil s call. The cow was heard because its owners
were in jail, the fences were knocked down. This shows that Salem is a corrupt community and
is falling apart. Later on, Hale says to Danforth, there are orphans wandering from house to
house; abandoned cattle bellow on the highroads, the stink of rotting crops hangs everywhere,
and no man knows when the harlots cry will end his life... (Miller 121). Hale says this to
Danforth because there are many people being jailed, killed, or accused of witchcraft and since
this is happening, there is no one to take care of their kids, tame the cows, and harvest the crops.
To summarize, Salem has fallen apart due to puritans being in jail and not being able to take care
of their kids,

Comparing Zeus Flood Mythology And Christianity

have one event very similar to one another. This is the flood. Told in the bible through Genesis six
through nine, God plans to destroy mankind due to the wickedness of the people who live on
earth. Told in a separate story of creation in mythology, Zeus plans to destroy mankind due to the
same wickedness of the people living on earth. Two different gods with the same plan and for the
same reason. These stories have many differences and similarities that can both be clearly seen. In

The Rule Of The King
After the failure of the Judges, Israel desired a king, so they could be like all other nations.
(1Sam 5:8 paraphrased) Creating a United Monarchy meant many changes would have to take
place. At the time Israel had been theocracy and God was their King, however the elders had a
different plan. They wanted a king, even if it meant rejecting God. God told Samuel to listen to
the people, appoint them a king, but make sure they understand what the king who reigns over
them will do Samuel explained to the people that their sons would be part of the army, their
children would have to work for the king, they also would have to pay high taxes. The people
refused to listen to Samuel. So God gave them a king. The LORD replied, Do as they say, and
give them a king. (1 Sam 8:22 NLT) Then Samuel agreed and sent the people home. God was
rejected and a human monarchy would now rule Israel.
Unknown to the people God had chosen a man to serve as their king. (1Sam 9:16 17 paraphrased)
According to Hindson and Yates Saulwas the people s choice, more than God s choice for a king.
They focused on his outward appearance more than his heart. Tall, dark, and handsome, Saul was
the chosen one the appointed king. According to Hindson and Yates Despite Saul s strong
beginning (chap. 11) and being warned by Samuel to honor the Mosaic covenant (chap.12), Saul s
poor choices caused his kingdom to deteriorate rapidly. (chap.13 15) Saul s blatant disobedience
would be the last straw. He was

All organizations, by their very nature, have built in conflicts Conflict is seen as an inherent feature

stem from individual characteristics, interpersonal factors, communications, behavior, structure and

Ambiguity the ambiguous purposes and objectives, the imprecision in establishing tasks, authority
and responsibility of some jobs and compartments, lack of clarity in transmitting decisions or the
deformed presentation of reality are causes of conflict at TRB. Management sets unclear policies.
These can cause much argument, confusion and wasted resources. When rules and standards are
also inequitably applied e.g. one set for management and another for the workers, the credibility of
management regarding its value system can be significantly undermined. At TRB, the policy states
that work starts at 0700hrs. Some managers adhere to this policy together with the bulk of the
employees, but others do not. The earliest that they are seen at work is at 0745hrs. No action is
taken against them, but if lower level would dare to do the same, they will suffer the consequences.
Interdependent work activities: Wherever the input to one process is dependent on the output from
another before the finished product is complete, the potential for conflict is high. The Accounts
Department at TRB depends on the stock take figures that the Business Development Department
among other departments submit at the end of each month. How, BD personnel have their own
priorities that occupy them. The BD team may not particularly be aware of Accounts deadlines and
as such the moment Accounts tries to hasten their stock take process, and a conflict arises.

Relationship Between Leaf Size And Annual Sex Expression
Relationship between leaf size and annual sex expression in Arisaema triphyllum
VICKY NGUYEN
University of Toronto, Scarborough
Summary
Disparity in cost of reproduction has lead sexually reproducing plants to develop different methods
of dealing with the cost of reproduction, an example of this is sequential hermaphroditism, where an
individual can change sex at one point in their life. Jack in the pulpit, Arisaema triphyllum, is a
sexually dimorphic plant that exhibits sequential hermaphroditism, this study looks to see if female
A. triphyllum will exhibit the largest leaf sizes due to their need to meet higher costs of reproduction
. Forty individuals were surveyed for sex and largest leaf length per area for 7 different locations
within Morningside ravine. Individuals were analyzed for mean leaf length per sex, and means
were analyzed for significance with a 1 way ANOVA followed by a tukey test. All means were
found to be significantly different from each other with the mean of females leaves the largest,
followed by males, and asexual individuals were the smallest. Female individuals of A. triphyllum
had the largest leaf sizes to compensate for their elevated costs of reproduction. The size advantage
model explains that that female A. triphyllum will have the largest leaves because female
individuals are able to best meet the costs of reproduction at larger sizes.

Ghost Of The Past By George Santayana
Ghost of the Past George Santayana once stated, Those who fail to learn from history are
doomed to repeat it . James Gatz, or better known as Jay Gatsby has lived solely to persuade the
love of his life, Daisy Buchanan, into loving him. He and Daisy had a past relationship, but he
could not fully provide her with the satisfaction of marrying a wealthy man who could support
her needs. Like many others, The Great War separated them from their love, Gatsby was called
to action and Daisy took her own action by marrying a wealthy man named Tom Buchanan.
Gatsby was heartbroken when he returned to find Daisy had left without him. He devoted his
life to her from then on until his death and she knew he would do anything for her. When Gatsby
had found Daisy again he was reintroduced to her by her cousin Nick Carraway. Nick and Gatsby
grew closer together, not only because they neighbored each other, but because Gatsby was Nick
s goal. Nick wanted to create his own life and wealth much like Gatsby and his curiosity of how he
became well off created room for what lead to Gatsby s death. F. Scott Fitzgeraldrecorded the novel
as a parallel of his life. His life would not have been the same if he had not endured the 1920 s.
The state of despair the nation was in caused the generation that came to age, to be coined the Lost
Generation . The disillusionment of this generation caused Gatsby to believe that he could hold

Goal Of Corrections Essay
With our prison being for criminals that would normally get the death penalty but it is not legal in
the respected state that our prison is in we have different goals than a normal prison. Since our
prisoners are not expected to return back to society there will be little work done to rehabilitate
them. The main goal of correctionsis, to carry out the criminal sentence. (Clear, Cole, Resisig,
2016.). Our prisons goal is the same only because our prisoners aren t expected to leave, every
goal of ours branches off of that idea. The focus will be on keeping them contained and make sure
there are no riots that would cause problems in the prison. With the main goal being security at our
prison we have to implement certain things that your normal correction facility wouldn t have.
To reach this goal we will have underwater guards that will be armed with underwater weapons
such as the, M1 underwater defense gun or the APS underwater assault rifle. (The Canberra, p.
6). These weapons are able to be fired underwater and are more effective then harpoon guns. The
APS assault rifle also has the capability of being fired out of water to make it effective in the
prison if needed also. According to The Canberra, Instead of stubby bullets, these fire darts. Their

of the social contract there is a silent about the part of the story which reveals the social contract is

story (Pateman 1989: 41), a story in which brothers killed their father and formed a contract
between themselves to share the women that once belong to their father. She goes on to say that the
contract constitutes patriarchal civil society and the modern, astrictive rule of men over women
(Pateman 1989: 43). Furthermore, she discusses how the fraternal social contract is a specifically
modern reformulation of this patriarchal tradition. She argues that the father is dead, but the
brothers appropriate the ability specific to women (Pateman 1989:

A Brief Note On The Rock Island Arsenal
In an organization as large as the United States Army, it is critical that managers at every level are
able to effectively perform their duties and maintain the chain of command. Throughout the
semester we have learned about how a manager needs to be able to adapt and how the
responsibilities of a manager might change depending on the culture and structure of a company.
What interested me the most about Mr. Dearborn s position within the civilian sector of the Army
was how he was able to manage both small and large groups of employees simultaneously, both
encompassing vast ranges of personality types and work styles, maintaining responsibility of both
immediate employee actions and contributing to the larger more global direction of the civilian
sector of the Army. The Rock IslandArsenal is located in Illinoison the Mississippi river in between
the cities of Davenport, Iowa and Rock Island, Illinois. As the largest weapons manufacturing
arsenal in the United States it serves a variety of purposes aside from manufacturing weapons.
These purposes include aiding in militarylogistics, and providing base support. The scope of the
Rock Island Arsenal s involvement in military affairs extends beyond the US Army, it receives
contracts from all branches of the United States armed forces and it s allies ( Rock Island Arsenal,
IL. ). Since it s establishment in 1862 it has provided vital intelligence to all branches of the
military and has largely impacted our nations defense

The Symbolism Of Pearl In The Scarlet Letter
In The Scarlet Letter Pearl, the daughter of Hester Prynne and Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale, is
used as a symbol throughout the novel. Pearl is the innocent product of a sin. She has often
been called a demon child due to her mischievous behavior. That comes from the absence of a
father figure. Pearl shows a wildness that none of the citizens of the settlement have ever seen
before. She is very intelligent for her age and she uses that to her advantage. Hester and Pearl
are in the Governor s garden one day where there is a discussion whether little Pearl should be
taken from Hester and given to another family to be raised by, or to remain with Hester. Hester
says that she would die before Pearl be taken from her. This statement shows Hester s

How Stress Affects The Body
Stress is absolutely affects our body and blood pressure. The stress is temporarily increasing the
blood pressure by causing the heart to beat faster and the blood vessels to narrow. Stress affects
the blood pressure because the body produces a surge of hormones when the person is in a stressful
situation and the hormones increase the bloodpressure. The body produces a flow of hormones when
the person is in a stressful situation. When the stressreplies happen rarely, the body can improve

The renin angiotensin aldosterone system controls blood pressure and fluid balance in the body.
Activation of the renin angiotensin aldosterone system causes increased sodium retention by the
kidneys, which leads to reduced water loss into the urine and therefore blood volume expansion. If
the RAAS is abnormally active, blood pressure will be too high.RAAS activation occurs during
heart failure, which leads to fluid retention in the body. When the plasma sodium concentration is
lower than normal or the renal blood flow is compact, the juxtaglomerular cells in the kidneys
convert prorenin into renin, which is then unseen directly into the circulation. Plasma renin then
cuts a short, 10 amino acid long, and peptide off a plasma protein known as angiotensinogen. The
short peptide is known as angiotensin I. Angiotensin I is then converted, by the removal of 2 amino
acids, to form an octapeptide known as angiotensin II, by the enzyme angiotensin converting
enzyme found in the lung capillaries. Angiotensin II is a potent vaso active peptide that causes
arterioles to constrict, resulting in increased arterial blood pressure. Angiotensin II also stimulates
the secretion of the hormone aldosterone from the adrenal cortex. Aldosterone causes the tubular
epithelial cells of the kidneys to

Iran Essay
Iran and the IAEA s Earlier Attempts Following the discovery of the undeclared construction of a
large underground nuclear related facility in Natanz and the existence of highly enriched uranium
in 2002, the Iranian nuclear crisis began in full force. The following summer, the then director of
the IAEA, Mohamed ElBaradei, presented a report to the IAEA Board of Governors in which
failures and breaches of safeguards by Iran were cited without ambiguity and additional inspections
were recommended (Mousavin 66). Despite this, ElBaradei refused to say the Iran was in
noncompliance with its safeguards (Brown 174). This was of much disappointment to the U.S. and

for its harsh advances against Iran. In February 2006, Iran was referred to the S.C. by the IAEA
Board of Governors and in June, China, Russia and the U.S. joined the E3 to form the P5+1. In
response, Iran announced that they would resume uranium enrichment activities and end
implementation of the Additional Protocol ( Iran 1). Before advancing further, it is necessary to
analyze the events of 2003 2005 to understand the role of the IAEA during this period and why
such broad international assistance was needed to achieve the slightest of results. After receiving
the Board of Director s resolution of September 2003, Iran immediately questioned its authority as
it was outside of the Safeguards Agreements and Additional Protocol. Iran believed the resolution
and request for cooperation had no legal base and would be accepted not as an international
obligation but as a gesture of goodwill and a confidence building measure (Mousavin 74). It was
not until Iran was threatened with referral to the S.C. under Article XII, Paragraph C of the IAEA
statute that they began to comply. Iran was not prepared to handle the consequences of a referral,
which would threaten the country with isolation (Mousavin 76). In addition, suspicion of Iran had

Powers Of Monarch
The article The Powers of Monarch in England was about the state of the monarchy is the
highest thing on earth. There are three main ideas about the state of Monarchy, which are
delivering the Word of God, establishments of policy and philosophy. Kings were treated as gods
and even in the scriptures were referred to as gods. The reason kings were called and treated as
if they were god is that they exercise their power upon the place they were ruled by deciding on
major actions. For example, kings could decide on anything like sentencing someone to death,
creating or destroy anything, being a judge, and anything godlike at the king s desire. The article
goes on and talks about how the succession of the king could be changed at the king s request.
Therefore, if the king thought his oldest son was not fit enough for the throne the king would give
his inheritance to the youngest instead. The kings used their judgment on anything they thought
was more convenient for themselves than others. This article explains that the king s power
derives from God. This is because the king decides on everything and is considered godlike.... Show

Freedom In American Literature
A concept of freedom (or liberty) has been the foundation of the United States since its founding in
1776. After all, its Declaration of Independence states that every citizen deserves the rights to Life,
Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness . However, Liberty doesn t just mean a literal freedom from
captivity, or the right to live independently from the rule of a monarch. The Constitution preserves
multiple different types of Liberty, including the freedom of speech, freedom of expression, freedom
of the press, and many more. With American Literature, the authors expressed these freedoms
through their works, but there was a point in time (1820 1865) where freedoms of thought and
expression were the primary ideas for most of the texts. During this period, the authors openly
voiced their discontent with institutions and systems, such as slavery, criticizing them for how they
restrict people from thinking for themselves. They also demonstrated their freedom of expression
through the text itself, not just the content of the text. In other words, the act of writing and
publishing their work was an act of rebellion against the customs they disliked, because they have
the freedom to do so. They not only have the right to have ideas that are different from those of the
majority, but also the right to share those ideas with everyone, even if people don t want to hear
them. If it were not for these people, modern Americans might have a harder time discussing with
each other,

Theater used in the context of youth ministry is a brilliant strategy for deepening the faith
journey of students. This is because art is a reflection of life. It holds a mirror to that which we
see everyday and presents it in a different light, bringing forward new messages and changing not
only the audience but the performer. Used and approached properly, the performing arts can
expand the mind, strengthen the body, and fortify the spirit. This can be done regardless of the
production or character being portrayed. In this way youth can see what it is to live in the world
and not be of it (John 17:14 18).
The Theology A foundational part of the theology behind the theater department at Corban
University is the belief that we are created in the image of God (Gen 1:26 27). Because of this, we
are blessed with many of his characteristics, one of which is creativity (Gen 1). Since we live in a
world fallen to sin, we as humans are broken. The brokenness leads to insecurity in our gifts, in
our worship and even in our relationships. In participating in a production that reflects the broken
nature of humanity and the redemptive power of Christ, students can participate in that creativity
and grow in practical understanding of theology (Heb 5:13 14). This approach to a foundation
for theater as a ministry is important because it brings us back to the basics of who we are as
children of God (John 1:12 13; Phil 2:15). It also reminds us that God is not just within the box of

Essay On Changing Car Oil
While most people nowadays, rarely think about changing their car oil. But little do they know,
that regularly changing a car s engine oil is one of the most important things you can possibly
do to keep a car running without any problems or mishaps. Without regular oil changes, the old
oil inside of a car, will break down and clog a car s oil filter, causing a hefty price for repairs and
replacements. The general population, might not know this, but changing the oil of a car is both
inexpensive and easy.
The change begins by driving the car into a driveway or a spot with enough allocated space to
work beneath the vehicle and outside the vehicle. This is done to make sure, that an individual does
not cause any accidental damage to a person, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As soon as the oil cap bolt has been screwed back on, new oil has to be added. Locate the the fill
hole at the top of the engine. If location cannot be verified, look to the left of the engine, and
there should be a cap. Before anything is done, it is heavily recommended that vehicle capabilities
are checked in the owner s manual, to insure how much oil the vehicle can take. Too much oil
intake may cause blockage, so please be wary.
Once the new oil has been inserted, it is recommended that the engine is turned off and on to
double check that everything is running smoothly with the oil pressure. This can be verified, by
checking the red engine light turn off and on after startup. If that is not the case, then a bolt is not
tightened properly, and is oozing out liquid or oil.
As another verification method, the dipstick can be pulled out of the vehicle to double check the
pressure. This is located to the bottom left of the engine. It generally looks like a long metal rod.
Simply pull this out, and check to see if both holes on the bottom of the stick are shaded in with
oil. If this is the case, then a successful oil change has been

Violence, Religion, Or Past Experiences
Culture violence intersect in many different situations both through direct and indirect contact. The
two can be observed in multiple settings but I am going to focus on the violence that occurs within
Intimate Relationships, particularly between a man and woman, and how women assume the role
of the submissive partner. I will talk about how different cultural feelings, religions and exposure to
intimate partner violencecan be an example of culture and violence intersecting by observing the
threatening interactions in a violent relationship. This includes violence in societies such as New
Zealand which is heavily frowned upon, to other parts of the world where violence is encouraged.
Men Women with different cultures and upbringings will all have a different stances on what
forms of abuse is okay and not okay. When a woman is in a violent relationship, regarding physical
and domestic violence, there are a number of reasons as to why she may or may not stay in the
relationship. Reasons for staying may be fear, religion, or past experiences.
In different parts of the world it would be seen as a selfish for a woman or mother to go out and
pursue her desired career path. Because it is expected that she should be a homemaker and raise
the children as her job. These feelings can be fueled by what some societies think the correct
expectations are for the role of a Mother . For a long time now there has been the misconception in
many cultures that women should sacrifice

How Did Calvin Coolidge Influence Politics
Calvin Coolidge Calvin Coolidge held press conferences that everyone could tune into over their

As a man of his word, Coolidge seldom promised spending to the public that the government

To What Extent Did Hitler Manipulate the German Population...
To what extent did Hitler manipulate the German population into following his Nazi regime?
From 1933 1945 Adolf Hitler rose to the peak of his political power, by creating a stronghold
over the German people. The use of oratory skills, in conjunction with his knowledge and use of
propaganda and his suppression of details of the Holocaust, created a vibe of electric excitement for
Germany. (Fritzsche, 1998) His targeting of the German minority and his radical push for anti
Semitism allowed Hitler to corrupt a weak and innocent nation. Manipulative leadership was a
dominant force in the birth of his extremist beliefs and propagation, though this was assisted by the
responsiveness of the negligent minded German population to his plans.... Show more content on

Thousands upon thousands of Berliners cheered and celebrated as Hitler spoke of his new
ambitions and plans for Germany. The crowd, which was labelled by a fellow member of the
group as deafening , were excited by the Hitler s enthusiasm; this had been lacking under the
reign of Weimar democracy. (Fritzsche, 1998) The editor of Berlin s Nazi newspaper, Der
Angriff, Joseph Goebbels, remarked: Uprising! Spontaneous explosion of the people.
Indescribable! (Fritzsche, 1998) Even though later in history we see Hitler s ultimate motive to
be his own rise in political hierarchy, his speech introduced himself to the German public as a
populist and a revolutionary political genius. (Grunfield, 1974) Hitler endeavoured himself to
all economical classes, whether it be the bourgeoisie, peasantry or the aristocracy; to them it
appeared Hitler s priority was to move Germany out of the current economic crisis and strive to
develop Germany into a world superpower. The passion illustrated in Hitler s goals was
prevalent in his speeches, which led to the acceptance of a nation and the new title of our Fuhrer
(Grunfield, 1974) Hitler s use of Nazi propaganda was a major part of his scheme to empower
himself to a weak nation; it gained him respect from the German people and endeared himself to
them. The key, well documented, emphasis of the propaganda was the mass slaughter of all

The Crash Of The United States
On December 13th, 1982 one of the most memorable plane accidents happened on Fourteenth
Street bridge which happens to cross over the Potomac River. On a cold and snowy day just
after 4 o clock a 737 Boeing airplane crashed into the river near Washington D.C. The flight was
supposed to return to Ft. Lauderdale, however, snow in Washington briefly closed the airport.
When the airport reopened, the plane was de iced, but still had difficulties once it got into the air
due to the ice. Seventy four passengers and five crew members were on the plane and
unfortunately seventy three of them died. When the plane crashes, it struck multiple vehicles and
then hit a section of the bridge. On the bridge four people were killed and another four people
were injured. The main reason so many perished were due to the extreme cold of the water, the
snow stormconditions and the heavy traffic, which prevented firefighters from reaching the site of
the crash, and the failures of Air Florida s flight crew. The water temperature in the Potomac at the
time was around thirty four degrees Fahrenheit. According to Amanda Ripley s The Unthinkable ,
humans have a low tolerance for extreme temperatures and cannot spend long periods of time in
those ranges. After a certain amount of time heart rates start to lower, blood vessels constrict which
causes pain. Blood would begin to abandon extremities to frostbite, choosing to save your heart
instead . All three of these conditions lead to a higher death

Power Of Artificial Intelligence
The power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is growing at an alarmingly dangerous rate and has the
potential to take over the world if we do not come together as a whole and put regulations on the
usage of it. Artificial Intelligence is defined as The capability of a machine to imitate intelligent
human behavior (Merriam Webster). As we know Artificial intelligence now, it is fairly simple
for the uses that we have for it, such as SIRI on Apple devices, AI controlled video game
opponents, and Google s search algorithms predicting what you are going to type into its search
bar. That is only the beginning of Artificial Intelligence s many capabilities. Global militaries are
researching and developing technology for war that uses AI, car manufacturers are teaching AI
how to drive cars by itself, IBM uses its AI creation Watson to help businesses make decisions
and grow, and thousands of other major companies and powerful nations are using it in many
unique ways. It contains many different unique parts, but the main uses are: Learning,
Reasoning, Perception, Reasoning, Problem solving, and using Natural Language (Copeland
2017). We need to regulate or eliminate the use of AI in war around the globe, stabilize the
economy after implementation of AI, and reduce or eliminate the inequality caused by it. AI
controlled killing machines used in warfare, sounds cool, right? They might sound like quite the
sight to see, but what happens when they become smart enough and decide to turn against the
people who created them and are using them for their own gain? How do we stop them? That is
one question that many people have, but none seemed to know the answer. What are the ethics
behind using robots to kill people? For example, is it not just as bad as a government that has
chemical weapons, that uses them against people that do not? None of the government s forces
are harmed, yet thousands of people are harmed and killed from the weapons, and it only takes
one fighter jet and pilot to drop the bomb. It is the same with the AI controlled robots, they could
be deployed halfway across the world, yet be controlled by someone on the complete other side of
earth, without any threat of danger or harm. We need regulations like

Bittersweet Destinies Have you ever been blamed for something you didn t know would

advice he gives to them. If the ideas of the Friar were more planned out and better thought out, the
play could have ended happily, but alas, it doesn t. Friar Lawrence is to blame because, he agrees

it is later found out that he was held in quarantine and was unable to deliver it. While this is
taking place, Friar Lawrence gives Juliet a vile and tells her to drink it, saying that it will put her
in a death like state for 48 hours. Once she is found dead she will be laid in the family tomb.
Once the 48 hours are up, she will awaken and Romeo was supposed to come and take her
somewhere safe where they can be together. This plan backfired when Romeo didn t receive the
Friar s letter and took matters into his own hands when Balthazar tells him Juliet is dead.
Because Balthazar believes Juliet is truly dead, Romeo believes that this is the news that was
supposed to come from the Friar. Romeo then paid for a bottle of poison that he will drink when
he lies next to Juliet. If Friar s plan would have succeeded, they would be together and they could
work out a plan to keep them both safe and end the family feud. Because the plan backfired, both
Romeo and Juliet end up dead at the end of the

Old Dudley Character Analysis
There are only a few paragraphs between the previous example and the next flashback. This
time, readers are introduced to Old Dudley s closest friend from the south, Rabie. Yet, this
friendship with a black man is one Old Dudley controlled. We see this automatically when Old
Dudley remembers fishing with his friend. Page five states, He and Rabie would start out early
Wednesday morning and fish all day. Rabie would find the spots and row; Old Dudley always
caught them...And he would giggle and shift the boat downstream. That was Rabie. He could steal
cleaner than a weasel but he knew where the fish were. Old Dudley always gave him the little ones
(O Connor). While this first line of the two fishing all day has a nostalgic, sentimental feel and
image, the next line... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Old Dudley gets to do the fun part catch the fish while Rabie giggles and steers the boat
downstream to another spot. This image is clear: Old Dudley has taken on the role of the
master. Rabie submits. The last image we are left with is Old Dudley giving Rabie some of the
fish he had helped him catch. However, they were the little ones. O Connor could have left this
detail out, saying Old Dudley gave Rabie some of the fish. But the image of the smaller fish is
essential to Old Dudley s character. He was able to choose which fish to give Rabie. Choice
often means privilege and control. Old Dudley had both of these and in seeing these Wednesday
fishing trips as clearly as we do, we understand why Old Dudley has so much animosity toward
his current living and social situation. He does not have any friends in the New York City
apartment. He has no one to control. The choices presented to him are different: Will he accept
the fact that all men are created equal and accept, in his heart, that a black man can live in the
same apartment as him and have as much control over his life as Old Dudley does his

I would be the first person in my family of 4 kids to go to a collage. I would have surpassed my parents since they both didn t finish high school. They always push me and motivate me to further my education as much as possible. I agree with them, I think the more you learn, study, and develop skills the more you deserve to earn. My biggest and most important career goal at the moment is becoming a technician. I want to go to either UVU or Weber State University. They have very good automotive programs in those schools. I know they can help me develop my skills to a level where I can make really good money. I plan to get my barber license so i can work in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Montreal Case Study Hey there! Long time, no see. With June right around the corner, the Montreal Canadiens enter one of their most crucial periods in years specifically for general manager Marc Bergevin. The draft will yield some high end prospects, and pave the way for one or more massive trades. Max Pacioretty and others may be on the move, and the Canadiens roster may have a vastly different look come training camp. We took to Twitter to ask you, the fans, want to hear about most. We took your suggestions, and compiled them into the first edition of HC Mailbag. At what point did Montreal go from being the most progressive organization in drafting developing talent to one of the most conservative? (@jprterp) This first question relates to Montreal s... A non competitive team? Montreal is one of the most deep teams in the league on the wings, and has two of the best and most revered players on defense and in nets. Drouin, Galchenyuk, Gallagher, Zadina/Svechnikov, Pacioretty, Hudon, Lehkonen, Scherbak, Byron, Shaw, Carr. That is the definition of deep. Not everyone on this list will be a Canadien by September, you can screenshot this for future reference. Add Shea Weber, Carey Price, Petry, and young up and comers in Mete and Juulsen, and you have yourself a pretty competitive team. Health is key, and proper deployment will ensure optimal performance from the team s constituents. Obviously there are glaring holes. The number one centre, and the number one left defenseman. Drouin could slot in as the 2C behind a true 1C. He was winning more faceoffs, was more confident down the middle, and posted 13 points in his last 14 contests last season. With less pressure, he could really thrive between, say, Galchenyuk and one of Zadina or Svechnikov. That s one heck of a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Role Of Identity In The Sorrowful Woman Identity What is an identity? Some people claim you re born with it, other says that your identity is molded throughout your lifetime. An identity is what makes you the person that you are. When someone describes you to someone else, they are describing your identity. The morals that you live by, and the way you live your life is your identity. Many different factors make your identity different from everyone else s. I think this because everyone goes through different events in their life and that s what alters a person s identity. In ordinary language, at least, one can use identity to refer to personal characteristics or attributes that cannot naturally be expressed in terms of a social category, and in some contexts certain categories can be described as identities even though no one sees them as central to their personal identity. (Fearon, James D) In The Sorrowful Woman the wife goes through a very traumatic experience which changes her forever. During the story she goes insane because of her living conditions and the way her husband treats her. He gives her some kind of poison that makes her act differently. This causes her to seclude herself from the family and she becomes a completely different person than what she was before. From context clues you can tell she used to be a loving mother and used to care about her family. She died as someone she wasn t. • 5. Ordered Successive Interference Cancellation ( Osic ) Is... Abstract In this paper, ordered successive interference cancellation (OSIC) is adopted with minimum mean square error (MMSE) detection to enhance the multiple input multiple output (MIMO) system performance. The optimum detection technique increases the system complexity with improved error rate performance. Therefore, MMSE OSIC detection is used which gives reduced error rate compared to traditional MMSE with a considerable level of complexity. The system performance is analyzed in a composite fadingenvironment which deals with multipath and shadowing, known as Weibull gamma (WG) fading environment. Along with the composite fading, a composite noise i.e. additive white generalized Gaussian noise (AWGGN) model is taken into account to form various noise scenarios such as impulsive, Gamma, Laplacian, Gaussian and uniform noise. Consequently, generalized Q function is used to develop such noise scenario. The average symbol error probability (ASEP) of MIMOsystem is computed for 16 quadrature amplitude modulation(16 QAM) using MMSE OSIC detection in WG fading with AWGGN. Analytical expressions are evaluated in terms of Fox H function (FHF). These expressions demonstrate the best fit to simulation results. Keywords MIMO, MMSE OSIC, WG fading, AWGGN, M QAM, ASEP. 1.Introduction In MIMO systems, spatial multiplexing is used for high data rate transmission and spatial diversity is used to achieve reliable communication. What incited this activity was a technology boom like no other. It created a new era of electronics and computing. There were cell phones, desktop and laptop computers, the Internet, electronic games, flat panel TVs and major advances in business software and efficiencies. The housing industry was a big benefactor of this new economy. Home prices began to rise again by 1996. The rate of home ownership during the 1970s, 1980s and the first half of the 1990s averaged 64.4 percent. The rate began to rise in 1995, peaking at 69.2 percent in 2004. New housing rebounded. As reported by the Washington Post s Robert O Harrow Jr. and Brady Dennis in an article titled, The Beautiful Machine , Financial Products unleashed techniques that others on Wall Street rushed to emulate, creating vast, interlocking deals that bound together financial institutions in ways that no one fully understood and contributed to the demise of its parent company (AIG) as a private enterprise...many of the most compelling aspects of the economic cataclysm can be seen through the story of AIG and its Financial Products unit: the failure of credit rating firms, the absence of meaningful federal regulation, the mistaken belief that private contracts did not pose systemic risk, the veneration of computer models and quantitative analysis. However, a November 13, 2009 column by Edward Pinto in the Wall Street Journal blames Congress and affordable housing programs, Congress s goal was to force these two government sponsored enterprises (GSEs Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) to purchase loans that had been originated by banks loans that were made under the pressure of another federal law, the 1977 Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), to increase lending in low and moderate income communities...from 1977 to 1991, $9 billion in local CRA lending commitments had ... • 7. A National Identity Crisis- Research Paper A National Identity Crisis? Humans from various parts of the globe, including the Western hemisphere, arrived tens of thousands of years ago. These people belonged to different cultures, different groups, and spoke different languages. They settled in places where they could find water and food. It s often thought that migration and immigrationare the same and immigration came out of migration, which is NOT true. During seasons, birds migrate from one place to another. Once the season is over, they come back to their home. People from Mexico get into the United States during the harvest season and once their job is complete, they return home. If these Mexicans did not go back, but established a residence in the United States, then they... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the migration patterns reflected economic, social, and political development, the regulations for the number of immigrants and various types of immigrants were being strictly formulated. Most of the least attractive jobs in the country are being manned by illegal immigrants as they work at very low wages, sometimes even below the stipulated minimum wage. The employers try to exploit the situation of these laborers and make their personal pockets bulge with profits. Moreover, these illegal immigrants, as they are not legally attached to any payroll, they do not pay any taxes or any fee to the government. Illegal immigrants do not have proper health coverage, and thereby could not get medical attention when needed. So, they tend to land up in emergency room, which finally falls on legal taxpayers to bear the burden. Also, diseases which are not quite common in this country get into the country via the illegal immigrants posing a gigantic health threat. Another pile of cost to the taxpayers is children born to these illegal immigrants in this country. Taxpayers are left to scramble the rummages out of the ruin, while these parents quietly sit and watch. One of the main reasons why people illegally cross the border is that to get in legally, it is very difficult unless otherwise highly qualified. • 8. Greek and Roman Military Influences in Modern Warfare Current militaries have benefitted from the principles of ancient Greek and Roman warfare by studying the ancient battles, tactics, and use of supplies to develop effective military plans. Current militaries study and debate historical turning points of the ancient battles to understand how the leaders planned and executed battles. The empires growth was due in part to the might and successes of their military. The strength of their militaries came from many factors including their use of armor, weapons, and military tactics. The empires leaders used these three advantages to create the superior armies of their time. An important contributing factor to an army s success is armor for defense. An army can have skilled soldiers, but cannot be successful without the right armor. Roman and Greek armies wore similar types of armor. The Roman and Greek foot soldiers wore a square breastplate on their torso. While the Romans only wore one greave on their left leg, Greeks wore greaves on both legs. A greave was a sheet of metal worn to protect the legs (Horsepower: Harnessed...). Soldiers wear greaves even in current day. Recently, the greaves have been upgraded to protect the legs from Improvised explosive devices, such as those in Iraq (Frost, Quad Guard). Roman soldiers wore a helmet that protected the neck, and came around to protect their face. The Greek s helmets were more full and protective than the Roman helmets. During the Salem Witch Trials, false accusations were being spread around leading to the community of Salem to be filled with fear and death. In his novel, The Crucible, Arthur Miller argues that making false accusations and rumors can ruin a person s reputation, and eventually, a community. First, Miller establishes his criticism of false accusations through his negative portrayal of characters who engage in this practice. (1Sam 5:8 paraphrased) Creating a United Monarchy meant many changes would have to take place. At the time Israel had been theocracy and God was their King, however the elders had a different plan. They wanted a king, even if it meant rejecting God. God told Samuel to listen to the people, appoint them a king, but make sure they understand what the king who reigns over them will do Samuel explained to the people that their sons would be part of the army, their children would have to work for the king, they also would have to pay high taxes. The people refused to listen to Samuel. So God gave them a king. The LORD replied, Do as they say, and give them a king. (1 Sam 8:22 NLT) Then Samuel agreed and sent the people home. God was rejected and a human monarchy would now rule Israel. Unknown to the people God had chosen a man to serve as their king. After all, its Declaration of Independence states that every citizen deserves the rights to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness . However, Liberty doesn t just mean a literal freedom from captivity, or the right to live independently from the rule of a monarch. The Constitution preserves multiple different types of Liberty, including the freedom of speech, freedom of expression, freedom of the press, and many more. With American Literature, the authors expressed these freedoms through their works, but there was a point in time (1820 1865) where freedoms of thought and expression were the primary ideas for most of the texts. During this period, the authors openly voiced their discontent with institutions and systems, such as slavery, criticizing them for how they restrict people from thinking for themselves. They also demonstrated their freedom of expression through the text itself, not just the content of the text. In other words, the act of writing and publishing their work was an act of rebellion against the customs they disliked, because they have the freedom to do so. Used and approached properly, the performing arts can expand the mind, strengthen the body, and fortify the spirit. This can be done regardless of the production or character being portrayed. In this way youth can see what it is to live in the world and not be of it (John 17:14 18). The Theology A foundational part of the theology behind the theater department at Corban University is the belief that we are created in the image of God (Gen 1:26 27). Because of this, we are blessed with many of his characteristics, one of which is creativity (Gen 1). Since we live in a world fallen to sin, we as humans are broken. The brokenness leads to insecurity in our gifts, in our worship and even in our relationships. In participating in a production that reflects the broken nature of humanity and the redemptive power of Christ, students can participate in that creativity and grow in practical understanding of theology (Heb 5:13 14). This approach to a foundation for theater as a ministry is important because it brings us back to the basics of who we are as children of God (John 1:12 13; Phil 2:15). It also reminds us that God is not just within the box of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Essay On Changing Car Oil While most people nowadays, rarely think about changing their car oil. But little do they know, that regularly changing a car s engine oil is one of the most important things you can possibly do to keep a car running without any problems or mishaps. Without regular oil changes, the old oil inside of a car, will break down and clog a car s oil filter, causing a hefty price for repairs and replacements. The general population, might not know this, but changing the oil of a car is both inexpensive and easy. If location cannot be verified, look to the left of the engine, and there should be a cap. Before anything is done, it is heavily recommended that vehicle capabilities are checked in the owner s manual, to insure how much oil the vehicle can take. Too much oil intake may cause blockage, so please be wary. Once the new oil has been inserted, it is recommended that the engine is turned off and on to double check that everything is running smoothly with the oil pressure. This can be verified, by checking the red engine light turn off and on after startup. If that is not the case, then a bolt is not tightened properly, and is oozing out liquid or oil. As another verification method, the dipstick can be pulled out of the vehicle to double check the pressure. This is located to the bottom left of the engine. It generally looks like a long metal rod. Simply pull this out, and check to see if both holes on the bottom of the stick are shaded in with oil. If this is the case, then a successful oil change has been ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I will talk about how different cultural feelings, religions and exposure to intimate partner violencecan be an example of culture and violence intersecting by observing the threatening interactions in a violent relationship. This includes violence in societies such as New Zealand which is heavily frowned upon, to other parts of the world where violence is encouraged. Men Women with different cultures and upbringings will all have a different stances on what forms of abuse is okay and not okay. When a woman is in a violent relationship, regarding physical and domestic violence, there are a number of reasons as to why she may or may not stay in the relationship. Reasons for staying may be fear, religion, or past experiences. In different parts of the world it would be seen as a selfish for a woman or mother to go out and pursue her desired career path. From 1933 1945 Adolf Hitler rose to the peak of his political power, by creating a stronghold over the German people. The use of oratory skills, in conjunction with his knowledge and use of propaganda and his suppression of details of the Holocaust, created a vibe of electric excitement for Germany. (Fritzsche, 1998) His targeting of the German minority and his radical push for anti Semitism allowed Hitler to corrupt a weak and innocent nation. (Fritzsche, 1998) The editor of Berlin s Nazi newspaper, Der Angriff, Joseph Goebbels, remarked: Uprising! Spontaneous explosion of the people. Indescribable! (Fritzsche, 1998) Even though later in history we see Hitler s ultimate motive to be his own rise in political hierarchy, his speech introduced himself to the German public as a populist and a revolutionary political genius. (Grunfield, 1974) Hitler endeavoured himself to all economical classes, whether it be the bourgeoisie, peasantry or the aristocracy; to them it appeared Hitler s priority was to move Germany out of the current economic crisis and strive to develop Germany into a world superpower. • 36. The Crash Of The United States On December 13th, 1982 one of the most memorable plane accidents happened on Fourteenth Street bridge which happens to cross over the Potomac River. On a cold and snowy day just after 4 o clock a 737 Boeing airplane crashed into the river near Washington D.C. The flight was supposed to return to Ft. Lauderdale, however, snow in Washington briefly closed the airport. When the airport reopened, the plane was de iced, but still had difficulties once it got into the air due to the ice. Seventy four passengers and five crew members were on the plane and unfortunately seventy three of them died. When the plane crashes, it struck multiple vehicles and then hit a section of the bridge. On the bridge four people were killed and another four people were injured. The main reason so many perished were due to the extreme cold of the water, the snow stormconditions and the heavy traffic, which prevented firefighters from reaching the site of the crash, and the failures of Air Florida s flight crew. The water temperature in the Potomac at the time was around thirty four degrees Fahrenheit. According to Amanda Ripley s The Unthinkable , humans have a low tolerance for extreme temperatures and cannot spend long periods of time in those ranges. After a certain amount of time heart rates start to lower, blood vessels constrict which causes pain. Blood would begin to abandon extremities to frostbite, choosing to save your heart instead . • 37. Power Of Artificial Intelligence The power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is growing at an alarmingly dangerous rate and has the potential to take over the world if we do not come together as a whole and put regulations on the usage of it. Artificial Intelligence is defined as The capability of a machine to imitate intelligent human behavior (Merriam Webster). As we know Artificial intelligence now, it is fairly simple for the uses that we have for it, such as SIRI on Apple devices, AI controlled video game opponents, and Google s search algorithms predicting what you are going to type into its search bar. That is only the beginning of Artificial Intelligence s many capabilities. Global militaries are researching and developing technology for war that uses AI, car manufacturers are teaching AI how to drive cars by itself, IBM uses its AI creation Watson to help businesses make decisions and grow, and thousands of other major companies and powerful nations are using it in many unique ways. It contains many different unique parts, but the main uses are: Learning, Reasoning, Perception, Reasoning, Problem solving, and using Natural Language (Copeland 2017). We need to regulate or eliminate the use of AI in war around the globe, stabilize the economy after implementation of AI, and reduce or eliminate the inequality caused by it. AI controlled killing machines used in warfare, sounds cool, right? They might sound like quite the sight to see, but what happens when they become smart enough and decide to turn against the people who created them and are using them for their own gain? How do we stop them? That is one question that many people have, but none seemed to know the answer. What are the ethics behind using robots to kill people? For example, is it not just as bad as a government that has chemical weapons, that uses them against people that do not? None of the government s forces are harmed, yet thousands of people are harmed and killed from the weapons, and it only takes one fighter jet and pilot to drop the bomb. It is the same with the AI controlled robots, they could be deployed halfway across the world, yet be controlled by someone on the complete other side of earth, without any threat of danger or harm. It was a tragic love story of two star crossed lovers who struggled to keep their affair a secret from their families. If the ideas of the Friar were more planned out and better thought out, the play could have ended happily, but alas, it doesn t. With Romeo being banished to Mantua, he writes him a letter to explain what will happen and where it will take place. He then gives this letter to Friar John, who is supposed to deliver the letter, but it is later found out that he was held in quarantine and was unable to deliver it. While this is taking place, Friar Lawrence gives Juliet a vile and tells her to drink it, saying that it will put her in a death like state for 48 hours. Once she is found dead she will be laid in the family tomb. Once the 48 hours are up, she will awaken and Romeo was supposed to come and take her somewhere safe where they can be together. This plan backfired when Romeo didn t receive the Friar s letter and took matters into his own hands when Balthazar tells him Juliet is dead. Because Balthazar believes Juliet is truly dead, Romeo believes that this is the news that was supposed to come from the Friar. Romeo then paid for a bottle of poison that he will drink when he lies next to Juliet.
