The main image does not
take up the entire page
however the cover lines will
still overlap the main image.
I have not included a lot of
cover lines and features,
regulars because I did not want
it to come across and be
somewhat chaotic like a weekly
magazine. Meaning that I will
only include important articles
to intrigue my target audience.
The bottom strip is also quite
big so any information for
example about competitions
of getting tickets or even
going to events will be
advertised clearly.
The Masthead will cover
the width of the front
cover to ensure the
name of my magazine
attracts customers who
will be able to easily
recognize and read the
masthead.
The flash I have
placed nearer the
bottom of the front
cover because I
wanted this flat plan
to be simplistic and
sophisticated.

The cover lines are on both
sides of the main image
therefore when I do my
photoshoot I will need to
ensure my model looks
directly into the camera for
direct address and is in the
Centre so the cover lines do
not overshadow the main
image which will be of my
music artist ‘Amelia Marie’.
I like this layout as it is
somewhat similar to
the conventions of a
pop music magazine
Similar to my first flat
plan the masthead will
take up the whole width
aswell as be in front of
the main image slightly.
Additionally the strap line
and date have been
placed directly
underneath as it is a
important aspect that
will attract consumers to
read the short strapline.
The Flash is more
towards the bottom
which means the reader
will be attracted to the
bottom and also read
the main article to
attract to want to buy
the magazine.
The barcode or price is
placed in the corner to
ensure it is small and
out of the way but still
visible for the customer
to know/see

The main image for this flat
plan is on the left hand side
so it will not be the main
focus of my magazine.
Therefore when doing my
photoshoot if I use this
layout I will need to ensure
my model is predominantly
on the left hand side in order
for my cover lines to overlap
but not cover the main
image.
The date I have placed at
the bottom in the corner
as it is not an important
aspect of the magazine,
although if people want to
know if it is the latest issue
it may be difficult to find.
The masthead I have
placed on the left hand
side because you read
from left to right and I
thought I meant that the
consumer would take
more interest in the
cover lines and image
rather than the
masthead which will
attract them to my
music magazine.
Both the barcode and
the flash is in similar
places to the other flat
plans although when
creating my magazine I
will change it up slightly
depending on which
suits the image and will
attract/stand out the
most.
