Flannel graph is a visual aid used in teaching consisting of a board covered with flannel that has cutout pictures and diagrams that can be stuck on. To prepare it, a plywood or cardboard sheet is wrapped with flannel cloth and cut pieces of appropriate size are made using materials like sandpaper and glue. When using it, the flannel board should be hung high so everyone can see, cut pieces should be arranged sequentially and explained before removing them to keep the audience engaged. It has advantages of being interesting, durable, inexpensive and easy to use in different places but drawing the cutouts and getting the right materials can sometimes be problematic.
