Facebook And Its Impact On Twitter
Twitter is one of the best social networking stage where millions of users can communicate with each
other, post their thoughts and keep a track on all the on going topics. Its popularity has reached
millions of people all round the world. Popularity of the twitter apart, there are few disadvantages that
are connected with this social networking platform. Few of them include spammers, hacking or
forging of accounts. This paper mainly deals with testing the already existing methods for discovering
useless activities on twitter, and to identify the twitter spammers. In this paper we studied the existing
methods to find the spammers on twitter and presented a number of approaches to deal with. We also
mentioned certain features that are helpful in classifying the user accounts. They fall into three major
categories: profile based, tweet based and network based. These features are helpful in finding the
spammers easily. Introduction: The expansion of social media has made the spammers the ability to
reach audience easily.[1] Twitter is a stage where millions of users are organized themselves and
communicate with each other. Twitter has appropriate features that facilitate the users to explore the
topics and comment on the trending subject. Its following has made the spammers attracted and spoil
the high volume topics, else deviating from the topic. Normally the fake twitter account adversely

Abstract
This report aims to analyse and discuss the results of carrying out tensile tests for two materials, in this
case Mild Steel and Nylon. The purpose of this is to use the information generated to calculate Young
s Modulus, Yield Stress, Tensile Strength, and Percentage Elongation. These properties must be
known before designing a product using the materials tested, because the anticipated behaviour of the
material must be suitable for the design specification, with a margin left for safety.
The test followed the standard procedure for tensile testing; force was applied to a specimen of known
dimensions, and the resulting extension was recorded, thus allowing a stress strain graph to be
generated. The bottom of the specimen was secured into the crosshead of a tensile test machine, and
the top secured to the load cell. An extensometer is placed on the specimen to measure extension. The
test is complete when the force applied by raising the load cell at a constant rate causes the specimen
to fail.

Police Abuse And The Police
Police brutality occurs when there is an abuse of authority and force by the police towards civilians.
Police abuse is a topic that has been controversial because some argue that police should use their
force while others argue the opposite. One thing that is certain is that police brutality does occur.
Many wonder what leads to police abuse and a criminological theory that explains it is Edwin M.
Lemerts labeling theory. According to Lemert labelling theory is a theory that argues that there are two
types of deviance which are primary and secondary. These two types of deviance lead an officer to
abuse of their power. A solution to stop police abuse is based on John Braithwaite s reintegrative
shaming theory. Labelling theory is the most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They start with low offenses towards citizens and since they don t seem to be punished for their acts
then they constantly do the same thing and in other cases they commit higher offenses as they go.
They can start with insulting people for no reason and escalate to police brutality since they never
received a punishment to stop their behavior. They want to deflect the focus of what s going on. And
they want to jam up the cop by making a complaint. (Police Foundation) A survey done to police
officers and those in higher ranks believe that citizens just file complaints against police officers as a
way to be seen as a victim rather than an offender. If the authority believes this then complaints will
not be taken seriously therefore police officers will abuse of their power because they have nothing to
lose. They do not get punished and they do not get classified as a certain type of person. In addition,
Lemert introduces secondary deviance by stating that it occurs when labelling starts happening and the
individual or group starts to accept that label as their identity. (Lemert 1972:251) For instance, there
are police officers who are involved with police brutality and it may have been going on for a long
time but it was until very recent that it has become a serious and delicate issue. Now that almost
everyone carries a camera around (cellphone cameras) it has been easier for citizens to record when an
officer is brutally beating someone. A key factor in

Essay on The Danger of Subliminal Advertising
In modern society, advertisements and the media bombard Americans every single day. Television
advertisements, movies, radio, and even Spam mail have become a daily part of the lives of many
citizens. However, most people do not realize the sinister methods advertisers and corporations
employ with the media in order to obtain a profit. The use of subliminal and negative advertising has
increased immensely and shows no plan of stopping anytime soon. This dangerous ploy manipulates
the public and causes individuals to subconsciously crave a product or service. It is integral that
society understands the jeopardy of this malicious form of propaganda and begins to take a stand
against it for the sake of citizens privacy. Advertisers have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Some groups, such as the California based Center for Cognitive Liberty and Ethics (CCLE), believes
that current advertising methods and neuromarketing are methods to express thoughts ( Marketing s
Mind Control ). In addition, Gemma Calvert, co founder of Neurosense, a group pioneering the use of
MRI technology in market research, believe that neuromarketing simply improves upon advertising
and poses no major threat ( Marketing s Mind Control ). But if these small changes are not monitored,
the situation will escalate until media openly dictates the thoughts of people. Consequently, the
propaganda must be checked to prevent such a scenario. In some cases, controversial and invasive
media can take the form of what is considered art, such as a film or play (Sardar 4). Individuals will
claim that the work is a form of free speech even if it contains subliminal messaging. The government
does not approve of subliminal messaging that takes place in such outlets, as the FTC Act Section Five
prohibits unfair or deceptive acts or practices in interstate commerce (Lechnar). Unfortunately, it is
virtually impossible to act upon this law because individuals responsible for the piece will deny that
subliminal messages are present, making it more difficult for the government to prevent subliminal
messaging. Even if one is trying to make a point, he or she should

The Structure and Function of Carbohydrates
The structure and function of carbohydrates A carbohydrate is an organic molecule containing only
Carbon, Hydrogen and Oxygen with the general formula Cn(H20)n. They are made up of individual
molecules called monomers which are joined together by condensation reactions to make a longer
chain called a polymer. Carbohydrates are categorised in to three main groups; monosaccharides,
disaccharides and polysaccharides. Monosaccharides are single sugars and are sweet tasting soluble
substances such as glucose and fructose which are the building blocks for all carbohydrates. They are
used as energy in respiration by being broken down in to carbon dioxide and water. ATP, an immediate
energy source, is released during the glycolysis and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is similar to amylopectin but has many more branches which are shorter. This means that it is
extremely compact and hydrolyses very quickly. A final example of a polysaccharide is cellulose
which is the main constituent of plant cell walls. It has adjacent chains of long, unbranched polymers
of glucose which bond together to form micro fibrils. These layers are orientated in different
directions and interwoven providing rigid cell wall with gaps in layers to provide permeability. The
carbohydrate glucose is formed in the light independent reaction which occurs in the stroma. Carbon
dioxide combines with RuBP to form a highly unstable 6 carbon compound which splits in to two
glycerate 3 phosphates which is then reduced to form two trios phosphate. This can either be recycled
back to RuBP or go on to synthesise glucose. In conclusion, carbohydrates are essential for the storage
of energy, structural support for example as the backbone of DNA and are an intermediate in
respiration e.g. glyceraldehydes. | | | | | | |

Low Birth Rates
The increased morbidity, mortality, and cost of pregnancy outcome in the United States is strongly
correlated with low birth weight infants. The two main reasons for infants being born with low birth
weight is due to preterm delivery (birth before 37 weeks of pregnancy) and intrauterine growth
restriction (Goldenberg Culhane, 2007). Babies that are born way earlier before their full term have
lower birth weight. In the United States, about 1 in 10 babies is born premature and 7 out of 10 of
these preterm babies are of low birth weight (March of Dimes, 2014). According to the World Health
organization, the global prevalence of neonatal deaths as a result of low birth weight is about 60%
80%. Babies that are born with a low birth weight have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, African American women and women living in poverty are twice as likely to have a
preterm birth as compared to different population groups (Goldenberg and Culhane, 2007). In the
2013 March of Dimes report, D.C. received a C for its premature birth rate in comparison to other US
states. According to the report, when considering racial groups the District had the largest disparity of
preterm birth rates. Blacks had the highest preterm birth rate of 12.6%, while Hispanics and Whites
had rates of 9.4% and 7.5% respectively (Sturdivant, 2015). Because the number one killer of babies
in the United States is preterm birth, it is critical that research is done to help healthcare workers fully
understand the need of the community.
Strong Start is a voluntary research project that is striving to improve maternal and child s health

Employees maintain a display that showcases a picture and small biography of each fellow worker on
active duty (Reed, 2008). There have been cases documented for unfair treatment. For instance,
United Airlines provided mobilized reservists with retirement pension contributions that were too
small, calculating the amount based on a minimum wage for union employees rather than the
employees actual salaries preceding deployment, according to a lawsuit filed by the employees
(Tightman, 2014. para 5). United Airlines ended up paying a $6 million settlement to Reserve

Alexander The Great Greek Crusader
Alexander the Great embarked from Greece in 334 BC never to return to his homeland. He established
an empire which not only spanned Europe and Asia but also united them. The extent to which
Alexander s life agrees with the statement is dependent on the definitions of a Greek Crusader and
Persian King . The Greeks (except Sparta) had abolished their kingdoms and replaced them with the
democratic city states. Consequently, the concept of kings and what it meant to be Greek had become
estranged with the result that Alexander may not have been able to embody this Greek culture as the
King of Macedon. The definition of Crusader poses an issue; in hindsight its medieval connotations do
not appear to be appropriate but the role Greek Crusader can be defined in this context as a pursuer of
vengeance against the Persian sacrilege or as an advocator of Greek culture and religion through the
use of force. The term Persian King could not only be interpreted to resemble their style of rule but
also their customs and the favouring of the Asiatic peoples. The evolution of these roles in both the
way they were viewed and the way they developed is essential in understanding how accurate the
statement is. First of all, we must assess the extent to which Alexander was Greek. Alexander could
trace his ancestry through his mother to both Helen of Troy and Achilles, relatives who would inspire
his later actions. From a young age he was influenced by Hellenic culture; under the reign

essentially improve a student s writing. This study included 17 students taking a 13 week course on
Women and Leadership at Brescia University College at Western University in Ontario, Canada.
Students received detailing assignment instructions and a grading rubric covering writing, information
gathering and presentation, and quality of ideas (Feltham and Sharen, 114). The students received six

Certain aspects of college life, such as unstructured time, the widespread availability of alcohol,
inconsistent enforcement of underage drinking laws, and limited interactions with parents and other
adults, can create an atmosphere where students lose sight of their academic career and ultimately
their self regulation ( College Drinking ). Often times, student find themselves putting off their work
simply because the due date is days, weeks, or even months from now. This ultimately leads to anxiety
and stress as the time comes closer and students realize that none of their work is done. The solution
to this is to improve the individual s self regulation and motivate them by making them accountable
for their writing. By creating a timeline or set of short dates in which items are due, students are more
likely to follow through with their work and complete it in a timely manner, as displayed with Feltham
and Sharen s study. Also, by incorporating social media, a large distraction for this, and future,
generations such as weblogs, students are able to perform in an environment they are more
comfortable and interested in, which inspires and motivates them to write more (as displayed in the
Bangkok University and Baggetun and Watson studies). Finally, by peer work and communication,

The American Civil War By Robert G. Tanner
When one thinks about the American Civil War that waged from 1861 1864, the question at hand begs
to be asked: what could the Confederacy have done to win the war? Ideally, according to Robert G.
Tanner in his book Retreat to Victory? the idea that the south might have won the war had it used a
different strategy might be impossible to answer. That being said, Tanner argues that amongst many
theories that have developed over what the Confederacy could have done to win the Civil War, the
strategy commonly referred to as Fabian would not be a prosperous endeavor by the Confederacy due
to the southern geography, people and most importantly through the Confederacy s generals. The ideas
presented in Tanner s book deserve recognition on the basis that the author s thesis is addressing a
hypothetical supposition. However, the thesis here is unconventional, as Tanner doesn t introduce any
innovative ideas, rather Tanner asserts how other historians bases are false. That being said, Tanner
submits that something known as a Fabian strategy cannot be attributed to how the Confederacy might
have won the war because of how this strategy exhausted popular support for the war between both
common folk as well as with the Confederate troops. In addition, Tanner supplements this by
describing how the geography of the south shows how a plan such as this would have left little hope
that the Confederacy would have succeeded in dragging the war onward to the point of near
desperation by the

Easily the most well known natural World Heritage Site in Australia, the Great Barrier Reef, which is
the world s most extensive coral reef ecosystem, was inscribed with UNESCO in 1981. The site
covers approximately 348,000 square kilometers and includes a wide range of depths, comprising of
shallow inshore, mid shelf, and even extending into oceanic waters 2,000 meters deep. The Great
Barrier Reef is actually made up of around 2,500 individual reefs, encompassing some 400 different

August Wilson Fences Analysis
Fences by August Wilson
August Wilson is ranked as one of the critical voices in American theatre. His plays are a revelation of
remarkable talent that mentions on the African American lifestyle and experience and simultaneously
creates a global appeal. Fences, one of his plays is a reflection of his rhetorical aims of using art in
changing the existing relationship between the blacks and society as proof that the African American
culture is fit for offering sustenance.
Fences by August Wilson gets its title from the main character, Troy. In the beginning, he builds a
fence for his wife as he engages in a conversation with Bono, his friend. The fence is completed by the
end of Act 1 and Bono, and his wife had previously placed a bet that he would buy her a new
refrigerator if the fence would be successfully built. Set up in Pittsburgh, PA on an African American
section between the late 1950s and 1960s, the play rotates around father and son conflict. Troy is a
garbage collector of African American origin and was once a famous ballplayer within the Negro
Leagues before inclusion of the blacks in the American leagues. His son Cory has a talent for athletics
sports and targets to win a college scholarship from football.
Cory pleads with his father to allow him to quit his job at the grocery store to be fully involved in
football. Nevertheless, his father does not accept which bars Cory from joining the high school team.
This shows that Troy is not sensitive to Cory s wish, but on the contrary, he has the will to fight for his
rights which sees him rise to become a garbage truck driver in the city. It is sad that he denies his son
the opportunity of becoming a sportsperson. To make matters worse, Troy cheats on his wife Rose but
show compassion to his brother Gabriel who is mentally disturbed. Gabriel got a head wound when he
took part in the World War II, and his friendship with Bono is firm.
Troy has a mistress, Alberta who unfortunately passes on while giving birth and the mistreated Rose
takes in the child. However, Rose refuses ever to obey Troy again. The commitment of Gabriela to
asylum leaves Troy and Cory entirely apart after Cory mentions that Gabriel s government considers

The Hukou System Is The Door Guard Of The Command Economy
The hukou system is the door guard of the command economy. Discuss.
Introduction
Hukou is a household registration system that the government uses it to control migration of the
population (Zhang, 29). Simply put, hukou is a migration control system. Typologically speaking,
hukou is an official identification system that records a resident s presence including his or her name,
birth, economic power and rank, employment status, and other relevant information. The
establishment of the PRC (People s Republic of China) Regulations on Household Registration in
1958 classifies the population into two types Agriculture and non agriculture hukou. This dual
classification determines one s entitlements to state provided goods and services. Hukou ... Show

Indeed, it is possible. The government can use a complex and traditional way to allocate the resources
and social welfare within the country, in the meantime, maintain its control to individuals. However,
without the enforcement of the hukou system, meaning that the hukou system is not a door guard of
the command economy, the economy would develop in a relatively less efficiency and a less
convenient way. Obstruction may happen, as the government would require doing a lot of complex
work in allocating the resources and social welfares. Nevertheless, one has to understand that
production, investment, prices, and incomes determine centrally by the government under the
command economic system. The hukou system not only separates the population into two categories
but also regulates internal migration. Consider of that, the hukou system becomes a perfect choice in
implementing a command economic system. This is because the hukou system not only ease
government s burden but also curb the growth of the urban population; restricting rural residents from
moving into urban centres, where places usually have a better living environments. As a door guard,
the hukou system is convenience for government to launch new policy while keep facilitating a

Role Of Heroes In My Life Essay
The Hero in My Life Heroes can come into your life and change everything. My grandmother, Jackie,
was my hero. A dedicated Christian, wonderful grandmother, a loving wife, and an exceptional selfless
person. I accepted the Lord into my life, because she took the time to tell me about Him. She helped
mold me into a thankful Christian mother; for that I will be forever grateful. My Grandmother was my
greatest influence in life. There is no way I could ever have thanked her for the impact she left in my
life. My grandmothers love was unconditional for her grandchildren. She was a devoted Christian
woman, in church and out. She was always telling people of God and how great He was. No matter
who you were she would pray with you and for you. Whether you were a sinner or saint, she was there
for you. Every time I stayed with her, she would tell me wonderful stories of the Lord, as well as say
our night time prayer. One night, as she kneeled by my bedside, we were about to say our prayers, she
looked at me and said have you ever asked the Lord into your heart ? I told her no, I wasn t even sure
what that meant or how to do. She explained to me, the Lord would live in my heart and I could talk
with him whenever I needed to. He would protect me and forgive me, just like a father would. Of
course, I said yes, who wouldn t want that? My Grandmother led me in the Sinners Prayer and my life
has since been forever changed. When I became pregnant at 17, well before marriage, I thought surely
my pregnancy was going to disappoint her. I had to tell my grandmother that I was pregnant. How
could she still love me after doing something she would never approve of? Would she still be proud of
me or ashamed of me? Open arms and unconditional love is what she showed me. No matter what you
did in life, she loved you as if you were an angel. Even though the choices we made were wrong,
never once did she put us down or make us feel bad. After telling her the news, she was still proud of
me. That made me want to push even harder, to becoming something better in life. I carried on
through my senior year, making sure to do everything right. My daughter was born ten days late, one
day after I walked across the stage for graduation.

International Trade And Domestic Monetary Policy Essay
1. INTRODUCTION
If you want to know the value of money, go and try to borrow some. This quote by Benjamin Franklin
seems to have laid a foundation for several financial concepts and practices. International trade and
domestic monetary policy of a country are closely connected to each other. A financial incentive can
increase export opportunities for trading partners whereas foreign exchange controls for balance of
payments can inhibit exports. Intervention of the Apex bank in foreign exchange markets may fuel
exports and impede imports or vice versa, subject to the direction of manipulation.
Several rules prohibit nations from deceitfully enhancing exports and reducing imports through
exchange rate manipulation. Traditional hesitancy to pursue currency manipulations exists among
policymakers even today. Some policymakers commiserate with purposes of currency manipulation,
especially as protection against economic shockwaves and for providing income for upcoming
generations when nonrenewable resources are exhausted. Although the unemployment figures have
perceivably plunged in recent times, the economic downturn of 2008 has left a trail of economic and
social displacement. The United States has already lost millions of jobs due to currency interventions
by other countries. Will the ascension of a handful of greedy and fraudulent Wall Street traders
coupled with China s hunger to be the world s most powerful economy, descend the global economy

Characteristics Of Beowulf A Modern Day Hero
Heroes have been known widely for their non violent ways, their act of kindness, and helping people
because it s the right thing to do (and not for fame). A modern day hero usually shows these types of
acts. However, an Anglo Saxon hero shows some of the opposite traits, including violence. Beowulf is
one of a good example of an Anglo Saxon hero. However, Beowulf shouldn t be considered as a
modern day hero today because he had different super abilities that a normal person doesn t have, he
uses the acts of violence, and he s really boastful about himself. Beowulf wouldn t be considered a
modern day hero because he uses the acts of violence. Although his acts of violence would be
considered heroic in Anglo Saxon times because of his bravery by defeating many monsters including
Grendel, Grendel s Mom, and The Fire Dragon. Modern day heroes are also able to show bravery
using their non violent ways. For example, Leslie Morissette was inspired by how her son Graham
(who died at an early age) lived his life caring for others. Morissette founded the nonprofit
Grahamtastic Connection in his honor. The organization provided free technology that includes
computers, iPads, and robots to children battling cancer and other serious illnesses. Since 1998, the

networking strategy that centers on creating real estate leads through the people that the agent already
knows. This includes the agent s family, business associates, friends, sports team members, classmates
and even vendors. The agent, in this case, has to keep track of all the contact and name information in
one place, for instance, in a spreadsheet program excel, email contacts database, or any commercial

Fontainebleau Letters
Dear Sam, How are you? I hope this letter finds you in good spirits. I am in the city Fontainebleau
near Paris, France to see where the Three Musicians by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso Paris; created one
of his paintings (oil on canvas) ), Three Musicians, in the summer of 1921 while visiting there with his
young family. However traveling to Fontainebleau provides me with the opportunity to go where the
artist created such artwork. I found a package deal (flight and hotel) for $1550 via www.expedia.com.
I will be staying in one of the top hotel in France called La Demeure du Parc led which is located at 36

perfect example of Cubist style. Cubism was created by Picasso and Georges Braque (French, 1882
1963) in Paris between 1907 and 1914. Cubism was one of the most influential visual art styles of the
early twentieth century. In Cubism, the subject of the artwork is transformed into a sequence of planes,
lines, and arcs. Pablo Ruiz y Picasso, also known as Pablo Picasso, was a Spanish painter, sculptor,
printmaker, ceramicist, stage designer, poet and playwright who spent most of his adult life in France.
He was born October 25, 1881 and died april 8, 1973 at the age of 91, in Mougins, france. Picasso
demonstrated extraordinary artistic talent in his early years, painting in a naturalistic manner through
his childhood and adolescence. I also learnt that Picasso had refused to part with the work for many
years, before finally letting A. E. Gallatin acquire it for his Gallery of Living Art in New York in

The Battle Of Leipzig And The Battle Of Leipzig
The Battle of Leipzig The Battle of Leipzig involved an exciting alliance that put into the battlefield
against Napoleon, close to one million soldiers. This is the most substantial number of Soldiers ever
assembled at this time in history. The battle of Leipzig is incorrectly compared to the campaigns of
Austerlitz, Borodino, and Waterloo. Similarities are the disposition of forces and how events unfolded
on one battlefield among two distinct lines of troops. Each line advanced towards each other, with the
cavalry making a critical decision to turn a flank or risk opening a line of advance in the center. The
infantry may exploit this action. The Battle of Leipzig was nothing like former assaults that were
decisive by day s end, and most resemble the apparent disorganization of vast armies and retreat
which were characteristic of much of the fighting in Russia just a year earlier in 1812. As this essay
demonstrates, the Battle of Leipzig is best studied by looking ahead at wars waged by complex
movements of mass formations. These formations consisted of allied armies whose coordination and
reliability increased or decreased in conjunction with the relationship between the generals and kings
or national leaders associated with them. The same proportionality in relationships became evident in
both world wars and currently in Syria. Napoleon s often debated decision to embark on an unfamiliar
defensive strategy at Leipzig led to his army running out of ammunition. In fact,

Bike Science Project
The scientific question of the project was, Does the size of a tire affect the bike s speed? The
hypothesis was , If the smaller tires were used, then the bike would go faster. The important
procedures were: Make sure all equipment is ready. Test the standard wheel of 1 rotation or pedal a
second to ride to the finish line. Test smaller and bigger wheels. Record data and have at least 3 trials.
Record the data on a piece of paper and compare results to your hypothesis. The Independent variable
is the size of the wheel on the bike. The Dependent variable is the standard wheel or tire on the bike.
The control group was the bike s speed and the standard wheel or tire. The Experimental group is the

help fix the bikes tires and replace the smaller, bigger, or standard tires. The science experiment was
very successful and went well. Other considerations are to use more different tires to have a variety of
information to make sure there were no extraneous variables in the experiment that caused the results
to have the outcome it had. More trials could have been used to also help make a more of an accurate
data table to also make sure there were no extraneous variables. Other things that could have been

History of Medical Coding and Billing
History and Future Of Medical Coding and Billing John F. McMahon BU480, Central Methodist
University Abstract Medical coding and billing affects everyone during their lifetime and yet the
regulations of medical coding and billing are extremely complex. Examining the history, evaluation,
and effect of new regulations and their cost shed light on an already complex industry. We will review
government regulations, technological advancements, and requirements that providers will face in the
near future. We will examine our current systems and how they evolved through time and what they
may be in the future. We have reviewed articles from the Medical Billing and Coding Association, the

The ninth edition of the ICD codes were developed and pushed in a direction so that the codes could
be used for billing instead of just disease classification. (Department Health and Human Services,

procedures based on the ICD codes. The ICD codes are taken from the different sources within
patients health care record, physician notes, lab results, x rays. Procedures performed on body parts
are all taken into consideration when assessing a value for services rendered. The fees associated with
each procedure are regulated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and by state
governments. Before this system of billing, physicians charged whatever they thought was appropriate
and in many instances bartered for their services. (Department Health and Human Services, 1998)
Government and insurance standards also regulate the cost of procedures that have been identified by
the coding system. The responsibility of making sure that accurate billing takes place falls to the coder
that use the ICD 9 and ICD 10 codes. These codes then tell the biller what to bill. Reimbursement

Camera Angles In A Few Good Men
In the movie, A Few Good Men by Rob Reiner, we can feel the change in we have the characters

help him prove that two Marines were innocent of planning and acting out a murder on their own
accord but that they were ordered to do a Code Red from a higher ranking officer, even though he is
known for making plea bargains and only winning one case. We can tell this especially well in the
camera angles. With the different camera angles happening throughout the movie we can see the
transition of dominance or superiority from one character that the words and actions would support.
To start with, the movie starts out with us seeing the moment that the two Marines, ... Show more

from a high angle, making him appear in charge still and in complete control. As we move through

James VI I s Desire to Create a Perfect Union Between Scotland and England
After succeeding the English thrown in 1603, James VI I of Scotland and England aimed to create the
perfect union . In 1604 he proclaimed himself king of Britain and attempted full unification of the
nations. This was to involve uniting the Scottish and English parliaments, the church and the legal
systems. It also included free trade, repeal of hostile laws and the renewal of borders. James s plan to
create a perfect union was not to be successful for numerous reasons. This essay will discuss the

Scotland was, after all, a poor nation and full unification would provide the benefits of, strength, peace
and security for Britain and he himself would be known for his greatness on a European level.[3]
James somewhat achieved this as, French and Venetian ambassadors were impressed…by the extent
of the king s authority .[4]
James was determined to succeed with the full unification of Scotland and England. In April 1604, the
Commons were asked to consider his new title as that of king of Britain. Their objection to do so
deeply offended James as he considered it his right. Decisions were delayed because the union was
imperfect and many were unclear as to exactly what it would involve. Commons were weary of James
because he intervened in such a way they had not been used to. As he made use of his full powers,
some were classifying it as, unwarranted interference in their affairs .[5] With the continual
postponing of the acknowledgement of James s position, he exercised his right of royal prerogative
and proclaimed himself king of Great Britain in October 1604.
His intentions of full unification were made known in his persuasive opening speech to Parliament
when he said, What God hath conjoined let no man separate. I am the husband and all the whole isle is
my lawful wife. I am the head and it is the body. I am the shepherd and it is the flock. I hope,

Symbolic Language In A Dolls House
Perspective is critical if one is to gain an extensive and detailed understanding of any form of
literature, whether it be their own, a characters, or the authors. In A Doll s House symbolic language
and comparison are used to illustrate the protagonist s perspective in correlation to their situation. This
results in Nora s point of view throughout the play being expressed in a more elaborate manner in
regard to the positive and negative aspects of her life. Her absence of individual thought, the physical
objectification she faces, and lack of significance to others all are all areas further expressed, and will
be areas of further discussion. Ultimately through comparison and symbolism in the language used,
Nora s perspective is further expressed, illustrating the epitome of the title, A Doll s House.
Nora s understanding of how little individuality she possesses is expressed by the symbolic and
comparative language present in the play. The plot clearly displays the role Nora plays in reference to
serving her family, specifically Helmer. While the reader builds their own perspective of the text, an in
depth analysis of the language used by and directed towards Nora provides insight to her own personal
perspective. Nora s initial sentiment of her role is very limited past serving her husband. This is very
clear when she reassures him stating I will do everything to please you Torvald; I will sing and dance
(act 1, page 43). The use of everything displays the lack of

Image Of God In The Chrysalids
Is there really one certain way God meant for people to be? Or are all people part of His image in
different ways? Well in the novel The Chrysalids the image of God, as reflected in Nicholson s
Repentances, seems to agree with the first option. The image of God within this novel demands very
strict guidelines. Due to these guidelines this image seems to discriminate against others who are not
perfect in their eyes. If a person does not meet the requirements dictated by the image of God as stated
within Nicholson s Repentances, they face grave consequences. In order to not serve these
consequences, they must keep their flaws/blemishes secretive and this leads to conflicts. While other
characters cause problems for others about the image of God. In The Chrysalids by John Wyndham
the characters David Strorm, Sophie Wender, and Joseph Strorm all have conflicts created for/by them
surrounding the topic of the image of God as reflected in Nicholson s repentances.
To begin, David has different conflicts created for him throughout this text about the image of God as
reflected in Nicholson s Repentances. His problem is the fact that he is telepathic. Within the
repentances it does not say anything about being telepathic, thus deeming him a deviant within
waknukian beliefs. However since nobody knows about this flaw/blemish he must constantly keep this
a secret. An example is during David s and Uncle Axel s conversation when Uncle Axel says, I want

School Uniform Dbq
In America there are several voluminous arguments about education. School uniforms are one of the
countless controversial topics that are argued about in the united states. From 1999 2000 to 2013 14,
the percentage of public schools reporting that they required students to wear uniforms increased from
12 to 20 percent. The percentage of public schools that required the use of uniforms increased by 8
percent. School uniforms should prohibited as they impair academic performances, are expensive, and
do not accomplish the problems it was made to solve. Uniforms undermines a student s academic
performance and achievement. Others say that uniforms help in academic areas and uniforms should
be required. Additionally, educators report a decrease in violence, a reduction in fights in schools and
improved student achievement when dress codes have been implemented (Source D). This quote states
that school uniforms are helping students improve in academics and reduce violence. However, in the

burden to them. This impacts the families greatly, as a result, they do not have enough money to buy
their child uniforms. Additionally uniforms do not promote social or economic equality (Source C).
Uniforms do not present economic quality. A person s economic position does not change as a result
of wearing uniforms. Some families cannot afford school uniforms, therefore it should not be required

Intelligence In Odysseus
A hero is someone who exceeds the expectations and performs above and beyond the average person.
Odysseus from the epic poem The Odyssey, acts above and beyond his crew and the typical mortal.
Odysseus uses his intelligence throughout his journeys to further develop his courage allowing him to
be resilient in the time of crisis arguing he is a hero.
Odysseus uses intelligence to guide him on his tricky journey home to Ithaca establishing that he is a
hero. When Odysseus and his crew land on the land of the Cyclops, they get trapped in a cave with a
human eating Cyclops named Polyphemus. Polyphemus turns hostile and becomes a serious threat to
Odysseus and his crews chance of returning home. Odysseus uses his intelligence to get out of the
disastrous situation by getting the Cyclops drunk and then blinding Polyphemus by using a stake with
its fiery tip (Homer 9.443) and thrusting it into the single eye on the Cyclops. Odysseus keen sense of
intelligence allows him to predict that Polyphemus would try to get help from his Cyclops neighbors
so he plans ahead telling Polyphemus, Nobody that s my name. Nobody so my mother and father call
me, all my friends (Homer 9.410 411). Odysseus, although physically strong, understands that
outthinking an opponent often leads to victory and in the incident with the cyclops this theory held
true. Odysseus predicted that once he burned the eye, Polyphemus would scream out in pain notifying
his neighbors that something was wrong.

Breaking the Cycle Essay
Crimes committed by youthful offenders in our nation have gone from a troubling statistic that would
have been barely noticed even 25 years ago to a problem of pandemic proportions. The responsibility
for this falls on every citizen and we must all bite the bullet and agree to properly fund programs that
can help to prevent crime, properly rehabilitate prisoners, and save the youth of our nation at the same
time.
Youth gangs have existed in various forms since at least the 19th century, although the nature and
extent of their activity has evolved over time. Over the past 25 years in particular, gangs have
expanded rapidly both in size and their areas of operation. Gangs today are more violent, their
activities are more widespread and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Maybe the readers may think it s no big deal because they have not crunched the numbers . I challenge
those readers to look at the following statistics and then try to honestly say it is no big deal . The
average annual operating cost per State inmate in 2001 was $22,650, or $62.05 per day. Among
facilities operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, it was $22,632 per inmate, or $62.01 per day. (
Stephan, 2004) What logically thinking person would not want an extra $62.01 a day going to hire
new teachers for our local schools? Who among us would not want that extra money going to fix the
potholes on our city s streets or add an extra street light downtown? How do we get those dollars out
of the prison system and back into the public coffers where the can be better used? Once again the
signs seem to point to rehabilitation and crime prevention. Why should we focus our attention on the
youth of our nation? I think the answer to that is plain to see and that answer is crime prevention
programs targeted towards youth. If we can prevent the first crime from happening we don t lose yet
another precious life to a downward spiral of violence and crime. What do we do about the ones we
were not able to reach before they entered the prison system? We have to provide rehabilitation
programs for these offenders, whether the programs are inside prison or after they are released. We
need to show these offenders that there are options

Questions On Wood Dining Commons Essay
Wood Dining Commons February 9th, 2016, 11:45 A.M. I m sitting at the first long table to the right

The Goal Of The Journal
1. The goal of the journal is to explain several concepts, many being misunderstandings, of how dry
ice is formed, and to use experiments to explain the hypotheses. The author provides explanations to
scientific reactions that make fog result from mixing together dry ice and water. Kuntzleman, the
author of A Molecular Explanation of How Fog is Produced When Dry Ice Is Placed in Water , also
explains why various ideas about dry ice are false. He demonstrates his ideas using experiments he
says can be performed using primarily cheap, and easy to find material.
The first experiment constructed is set up to effectively measure the density of fog. Because the
experiments all deal with dry ice, it is vital to be able to measure the density of the fog resulting from
a dry ice and liquid combination. Using a 500 mL flask with a round bottom and two openings is
necessary. Approximately 200 mL of liquid is put into the flask. A piece of approximately 10 grams of
dry ice is then placed into one opening on the flask. The other opening is covered by a plastic cuvette.
Through the cuvette the fog s density can be measured using an LED light and sensor. Fog density is
then recorded using the intensity of the light with the formula for the density of the fog, log(I/I0).
The next performed experiment deals with where the fog originates. The atmospheric water is not the
basis of DIWF (Dry Ice Water Fog). The source of this fog comes from bulk water. To prove this using

Summary Of Thomas F Drayton s Response To The Civil War
During the 19th century, slavery expanded geographically and demographically in the South and
Southwest of America, generating a wave of abolitionist movements. These events provoked a
different response in the country s society, since not everyone shared the same definition of slavery
and freedom. These concepts started to get involved in almost every part of American sociopolitical
life, creating differing points of view that would later conform the two sides in the Civil War of
America: The Union in the north, and Confederacy in the south. Each side had its own arguments for
supporting their cause, and we get an idea of them in the text Letter of Thomas F. Drayton (1861).

Absorption Spectrum Of Dyes Lab Report
Absorption Spectrum of Conjugated Dyes
Bashar Baraz
Lab Partners: whole class
Physical Chemistry II
3/22/2015
Abstract: The highly conjugated system of the cyanine dyes makes it a very good compound in the
development of more efficient solar cells. In this experiment, the maximum wavelength was measured
for nine dyes using a UV Vis spectrum. The result that were obtained agreed with Kuhn s model for
the less polarizable end groups such as 3,3 diethyloxadicarbocyanine and 3,3
diethyloxatricarbocyanine. That suggested that these two compounds were not as easy to polarize
compared to the rest of the dyes. The rest of the dyes required the use of the empirical parameter α to
provide more reliable predictions of the wavelengths. This was due to the highly polarized ends of the
dyes which needed the adjustment of the parameter to get more accurate results. The series with the
higher polarizable end groups absorbed higher wavelength light than the less polarized groups. This
supported the idea of the one dimensional box. Also, higher wavelength was determined to be
associated with longer conjugated carbon methine chains between the Nitrogen atoms. Kuhn s free
electron model was very reliable for this system.
Introduction:
The conjugated electron system in polymethine dyes allows these compounds to absorb light in the
visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum. Many of the carbocyanine dyes contain a different
number of methine carbons with two

Modern Pirates In some fictional works pirates are portrayed in a heroic way. For example, Luffy,
captain of the main band of pirates in the popular anime cartoon One Piece, is depicted as a fun loving
adventurer that chases his dreams. He is a character to be emulated. Unfortunately, the modern day
Somali pirates of East Africa have that similar effect on some of the Somali people. According to the

. . . The presence of pirates seems to prolong the Somali conflict (40). In a way, a terrible cycle has
now emerged. The Somali governmental collapse sparked the conflict and the conflict gave birth to
the pirates. Now it seems the pirates are being counterproductive in the establishment of a new
government. Pirates are some of the most powerful people in central regions, meaning that bringing
them to justice is a lot harder than simply issuing an arrest warrant. Arguably, young people are most
affected by the rise in piracy. Even though private business and end consumers globally are losing
money due to this issue, Somali youth are being forced to grow up in a country where piracy is not
only an acceptable job, but a prestigious one as well (AEDI 5). The United Nations Development

Social Networking Effects On The Socialization Of People
What if Facebook was used to its fullest potential? In twelve years the social networking
site has surely grown quite a bit from the site intended to allow Harvard students to connect with

games. Cat pictures and cheery posts that say, Like/share if you love Jesus! riddle the
landscape of a service that is supposed to be actually connecting people. Things like this have led
people to lose hope in online social networking. To some it seems like it has become a detriment
to society. However, the results of what happens when it is used properly should not be
overlooked. Online social networking in general promotes actual relationships and benefits our
society by providing a medium perfect for connecting with people in a variety of ways. As with

networking has adverse effects on the socialization of people. It s still surprising to me,
however, this combination of Orwell and WALL E that has humans watching one another

Local Religious Freedom Restoration Act
Local Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) are controversial in nature, because while they
pretend to use the excuse to protect the free exercise of religion, intrinsically it is an avenue to attack
same sex marriages which have been ruled constitutional by most circuit appellate courts in the United
States. Currently the Supreme Court is hearing the cases that might ultimately decide the faith of
marriage equality. United States v. Windsor opened the door for most federal appellate jurisdictions
and some states to rule that prohibiting same sex marriage was constitutional, on the basis of the 14th
Amendment equal protection clause. Despite this decision, the right to marriage is not an explicit
protection addressed by the Constitution, and is often seen as a right delegated to the States under the
10th Amendment. On the other hand the free exercise clause is part of the First Amendment, and
protects people from doing things that violate their religious principle, for example a Christian doctor
from performing an abortion. The article from New York Times in which Louisiana Governor Bobby
Jindal is an attempt to legitimize that RFRA plays an important place in protecting the free exercise of
religion of people and the power to authorize or prohibit same sex marriage rest on the states police
powers under the 10th Amendment. While a majority of Americans nowadays sympathize with gay
people and equality marriage it is a more difficult questions to address in the context

movies, music, and tv shows. Another entertainment sector of the business is the cruise lines,
adventure travel and amusement parks. The amusement parks are located in Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong
and two locations in the United States, Florida and California. We will discuss the park history and
some of the challenges and accomplishments that Disney has faced expanding its parks globally.
History
The Walt Disney Company was launched into popularity with a little mouse called Mickey in the first
fully sound synchronized cartoon called Steamboat ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other than those accommodations lodging revenue was lost to independent hotels and motels in the
area that accommodated millions of visitors each year.
The second amusement park location was Florida. They purchased28,000 acres of land, enough for
plenty of park expansion, shopping and lodging (The Walt Disney Comany and Affliated Companies,
2011). The park opened in 1971 with the flagship Magic Kingdom Park. In 1982 they added the
futuristic park called the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow or EPCOT (The Walt
Disney Comany and Affliated Companies, 2011). In more recent years the Florida park have added
MGM Studios (now known as Hollywood Studios since the separation from MGM and Animal
Kingdom, Downtown Disney and two water parks. Walt Disney and the company had learned the
lesson from California about space and in Florida they still have plenty to expand and they have
dozens of hotels to host thousands of visitors. This became a destination vacation where families from
all over the world came, stayed and played at the parks.
The next venture was opening Disneyland in Tokyo. The company unsure of its first global park
expansion let Tokyo build and own it and Disney just took royalties on the park (Solomon Stranger,
1994). The park opened in 1983 and became a huge success even in the cooler climate. Disney learned
another lesson, always own the park

Summary Of Racism In Once Upon A Time
Pierre Berton once said Racism is a refuge for the ignorant. This relates to the story Once upon a time
by showing how the couple in the short story portray uneasiness while giving into fear letting it create
their limitations and blinding them from seeing that they were building their own cage still constantly
trying to upgrade security leading themselves to loss of their son. In Once upon a time , Nadine
Gordimer utilities characterization and diction to reveal the complexity of fear and racial
discrimination and illustrates that one can t have a happy ending if he/she is too busy worrying about
what could possibly destroy it.
In Once Upon a Time , Gordimer utilities characterization by limning the fence around them as a cage
they created to illustrate how fear can undermine one s ability to take control of their thoughts and
actions and realize the true ignorance behind them. For instance, during the story the wife chose to
upgrade the security again but the husband told her that he believed the amount of security they had
was already enough. In the story, it states These people were not allowed into the suburb except as
reliable housemaids and gardeners, so there was nothing to fear, the husband told the wife. Yet she
was afraid that some day such people might come up the street and tear off the plaque YOU HAVE
BEEN WARNED and open the gates and stream in... This evidence relates to fear because of how the
couple chose to handle their illusions through callous actions. The author chose to include this because
the couple is characterized as melodramatic at this point because they re constantly upgrading their
security for the wife s growing obsession with security. The threats that motivated the wife s fixation
were the riots that were happening outside of the suburb but the robbery that happened within their
home. The wife said, She is right, let us take heed of her advice. So from every window and door in
the house where they were living happily ever after they now saw the trees and sky through bars...
This evidence illustrates how the couple delineates ignorance and commits callous actions and now
tries to place what just happened as a reason why they ve been continuously upgrading their

Clueless And Emma Analysis
So I watched both Clueless and Aisha (Bollywood) and tried to write up the connection I felt watching
both the movies; but while searching for the movie to watch I came up with yet another interesting
fact that these both are the modern version of Emma (by Jane Austen). Well I have not gone through
Emma but then researched about the characters in it and what are its connection with these two movies
( Clueless and Aisha ) and up with the brief summary.
Clueless (1995) stars Alicia Silverstone as Cher Horowitz. Like Emma, she is rich and lives with her
single father. Here she is only 15 and already has her own car and spends most of her time with her
best friend, Dionne. Aisha (2010) staring Sonam Kapoor as Aisha, which is Bollywood s version of a
modern Emma. Set in the high society of Delhi, it follows Aisha in her misguided matchmaking
attempts. The Mr. Knightley character is played by her ex step brother, Josh, played by Paul Rudd.
Clueless loosely follows a lot of Emma s plotlines. Like Emma and Cher, Aisha is a spoiled rich girl
who means well but is really clueless. This one follows the book a little more closely than Clueless did
and includes more characters, like the John Knightley and Jane Fairfax (Aarti). Cher hooks up two of
her teachers and from there gets it into her head to be a matchmaker. She decides to give this version s
Harriet Smith, new girl Tai (Brittany Murphy), a makeover and to hook her up with Elton. She
convinces Tai that her crush, stoner

The Practice Of Music And Enables Artists And Guest Curators
Preface Introduction
Have you ever rushed around Newcastle, totally preoccupied with the hectic hustle and bustle of city
life? Passersby are often too busy or late for something to really take in their surroundings. The
practice of busking has given Newcastle a soundtrack, a musical backdrop to the chaos of city life.
However, street performers are often restricted to limited areas in order to oblige the regulations set
out by the council.
This book introduces the aim of the project whereas to promote the practice of music and enables
artists and guest curators to explore their creativity while participating and engaging with music. A
platform provided to become the mass populist entertainment for the population.
Speaking of music ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The lack of interesting places for concert has affected people to have less interest in visiting music
spaces and there should be a suitable one for the use, enjoyment and also benefit the people of this
vibrant city.
It may not be the ultimate music space, but the premise of this project is to unite musicians with
supported facilities and give them the opportunity to promote their own music. Audiences will be
offered with a fully immersive ambience and a complete program of professional cultural
entertainment.
The book will demonstrate the intention of creating the music hall through its position first and
foremost as an entertainment, and secondly as a cultural presence that is increasingly seen as a key
element in regeneration plans.3
Nature of Subject / Topics
A lot of people s perception of buskers is both brutally frank and ironic despite this artistic practice
has always been as part of the contribution to this culture. They are far less appreciative of these
performances that are carried out with a genre which they could never normally encounter. In
consideration of the addressed matter, the music hall services as a stage that nurtures homegrown
talent and accommodates wandering players.
Given a few successful real life examples showing that there are indeed some of the world s most
famous artists started as street performers, from

Advantages And Disadvantages Of A Currency Union In Mexico
Precious Dyer
Professor Takeshi Yagihashi
ECON 305
December 2, 2014
Currency Union Mexico
Modern day Mexico has gone though many economic difficulties from government corruption and
mass immigration from the country, to inflation in currency. A country that relies heavily on the
service and textile industry. As of today economic standing is very good and the country continues to
grow, as of right now Mexico is the 14th largest in the world in nominal terms and the 10th largest by
purchasing power. The country has sustained macroeconomics stability and moved forward in
reducing inflation and interest rates and has increased per capita income in household.
The forming of a currency union also known as a monetary union is usually when two or more states
or sovereign ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One way the union takes away is the independence of the country since membership of the eurozone
establishes a single monetary policy, individual member states can no longer act autonomously,
preventing them from printing money in order to pay back creditors and ease their risk of failure to
pay. By printing money a country s currency is devalued relative to its (eurozone) trading partners,
making its exports cheaper, in principle leading to an improved balance of trade, increased GDP and
higher tax revenues in nominal terms.
There are many advantages to establishing a monetary union especially for Mexico a new growing
economic country. One advantage of creating a currency union would be an end to currency instability
in the country and untimely fix the exchange rate. If Mexico was to join a union with the likes of The
United States and Canada, Mexico would become more stable against any speculation than just as an
individual country. Also the union would result in lower interest rates in the long run just like seen in
Europe with the EU.
A North American Union like this will also force

The purpose of this is to use the information generated to calculate Young s Modulus, Yield Stress, Tensile Strength, and Percentage Elongation. These properties must be known before designing a product using the materials tested, because the anticipated behaviour of the material must be suitable for the design specification, with a margin left for safety. The test followed the standard procedure for tensile testing; force was applied to a specimen of known dimensions, and the resulting extension was recorded, thus allowing a stress strain graph to be

  • 5. Police Abuse And The Police Police brutality occurs when there is an abuse of authority and force by the police towards civilians. Police abuse is a topic that has been controversial because some argue that police should use their force while others argue the opposite. One thing that is certain is that police brutality does occur. Many wonder what leads to police abuse and a criminological theory that explains it is Edwin M. Lemerts labeling theory. According to Lemert labelling theory is a theory that argues that there are two types of deviance which are primary and secondary. These two types of deviance lead an officer to abuse of their power. A solution to stop police abuse is based on John Braithwaite s reintegrative shaming theory. Labelling theory is the most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They start with low offenses towards citizens and since they don t seem to be punished for their acts then they constantly do the same thing and in other cases they commit higher offenses as they go. They can start with insulting people for no reason and escalate to police brutality since they never received a punishment to stop their behavior. They want to deflect the focus of what s going on. And they want to jam up the cop by making a complaint. (Police Foundation) A survey done to police officers and those in higher ranks believe that citizens just file complaints against police officers as a way to be seen as a victim rather than an offender. If the authority believes this then complaints will not be taken seriously therefore police officers will abuse of their power because they have nothing to lose. They do not get punished and they do not get classified as a certain type of person. In addition, Lemert introduces secondary deviance by stating that it occurs when labelling starts happening and the individual or group starts to accept that label as their identity. (Lemert 1972:251) For instance, there are police officers who are involved with police brutality and it may have been going on for a long time but it was until very recent that it has become a serious and delicate issue. Now that almost everyone carries a camera around (cellphone cameras) it has been easier for citizens to record when an officer is brutally beating someone. A key factor in ... • 6. Essay on The Danger of Subliminal Advertising In modern society, advertisements and the media bombard Americans every single day. Television advertisements, movies, radio, and even Spam mail have become a daily part of the lives of many citizens. However, most people do not realize the sinister methods advertisers and corporations employ with the media in order to obtain a profit. The use of subliminal and negative advertising has increased immensely and shows no plan of stopping anytime soon. This dangerous ploy manipulates the public and causes individuals to subconsciously crave a product or service. It is integral that society understands the jeopardy of this malicious form of propaganda and begins to take a stand against it for the sake of citizens privacy. Advertisers have ... Some groups, such as the California based Center for Cognitive Liberty and Ethics (CCLE), believes that current advertising methods and neuromarketing are methods to express thoughts ( Marketing s Mind Control ). In addition, Gemma Calvert, co founder of Neurosense, a group pioneering the use of MRI technology in market research, believe that neuromarketing simply improves upon advertising and poses no major threat ( Marketing s Mind Control ). But if these small changes are not monitored, the situation will escalate until media openly dictates the thoughts of people. Consequently, the propaganda must be checked to prevent such a scenario. In some cases, controversial and invasive media can take the form of what is considered art, such as a film or play (Sardar 4). Individuals will claim that the work is a form of free speech even if it contains subliminal messaging. The government does not approve of subliminal messaging that takes place in such outlets, as the FTC Act Section Five prohibits unfair or deceptive acts or practices in interstate commerce (Lechnar). Unfortunately, it is virtually impossible to act upon this law because individuals responsible for the piece will deny that subliminal messages are present, making it more difficult for the government to prevent subliminal messaging. The Structure and Function of Carbohydrates The structure and function of carbohydrates A carbohydrate is an organic molecule containing only Carbon, Hydrogen and Oxygen with the general formula Cn(H20)n. They are made up of individual molecules called monomers which are joined together by condensation reactions to make a longer chain called a polymer. Carbohydrates are categorised in to three main groups; monosaccharides, disaccharides and polysaccharides. Monosaccharides are single sugars and are sweet tasting soluble substances such as glucose and fructose which are the building blocks for all carbohydrates. They are used as energy in respiration by being broken down in to carbon dioxide and water. ATP, an immediate energy source, is released during the glycolysis and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is similar to amylopectin but has many more branches which are shorter. This means that it is extremely compact and hydrolyses very quickly. A final example of a polysaccharide is cellulose which is the main constituent of plant cell walls. It has adjacent chains of long, unbranched polymers of glucose which bond together to form micro fibrils. These layers are orientated in different directions and interwoven providing rigid cell wall with gaps in layers to provide permeability. The carbohydrate glucose is formed in the light independent reaction which occurs in the stroma. Carbon dioxide combines with RuBP to form a highly unstable 6 carbon compound which splits in to two glycerate 3 phosphates which is then reduced to form two trios phosphate. This can either be recycled back to RuBP or go on to synthesise glucose. In conclusion, carbohydrates are essential for the storage of energy, structural support for example as the backbone of DNA and are an intermediate in respiration e.g. glyceraldehydes. | | | | | | | ... The two main reasons for infants being born with low birth weight is due to preterm delivery (birth before 37 weeks of pregnancy) and intrauterine growth restriction (Goldenberg Culhane, 2007). Babies that are born way earlier before their full term have lower birth weight. In the United States, about 1 in 10 babies is born premature and 7 out of 10 of these preterm babies are of low birth weight (March of Dimes, 2014). • 10. Alexander The Great Greek Crusader Alexander the Great embarked from Greece in 334 BC never to return to his homeland. He established an empire which not only spanned Europe and Asia but also united them. The extent to which Alexander s life agrees with the statement is dependent on the definitions of a Greek Crusader and Persian King . The Greeks (except Sparta) had abolished their kingdoms and replaced them with the democratic city states. Consequently, the concept of kings and what it meant to be Greek had become estranged with the result that Alexander may not have been able to embody this Greek culture as the King of Macedon. The definition of Crusader poses an issue; in hindsight its medieval connotations do not appear to be appropriate but the role Greek Crusader can be defined in this context as a pursuer of vengeance against the Persian sacrilege or as an advocator of Greek culture and religion through the use of force. The term Persian King could not only be interpreted to resemble their style of rule but also their customs and the favouring of the Asiatic peoples. The evolution of these roles in both the way they were viewed and the way they developed is essential in understanding how accurate the statement is. First of all, we must assess the extent to which Alexander was Greek. Alexander could trace his ancestry through his mother to both Helen of Troy and Achilles, relatives who would inspire his later actions. From a young age he was influenced by Hellenic culture; under the reign ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Certain aspects of college life, such as unstructured time, the widespread availability of alcohol, inconsistent enforcement of underage drinking laws, and limited interactions with parents and other adults, can create an atmosphere where students lose sight of their academic career and ultimately their self regulation ( College Drinking ). Often times, student find themselves putting off their work simply because the due date is days, weeks, or even months from now. This ultimately leads to anxiety and stress as the time comes closer and students realize that none of their work is done. The solution to this is to improve the individual s self regulation and motivate them by making them accountable for their writing. By creating a timeline or set of short dates in which items are due, students are more likely to follow through with their work and complete it in a timely manner, as displayed with Feltham and Sharen s study. Also, by incorporating social media, a large distraction for this, and future, generations such as weblogs, students are able to perform in an environment they are more comfortable and interested in, which inspires and motivates them to write more (as displayed in the Bangkok University and Baggetun and Watson studies). • 13. The American Civil War By Robert G. Tanner When one thinks about the American Civil War that waged from 1861 1864, the question at hand begs to be asked: what could the Confederacy have done to win the war? Ideally, according to Robert G. Tanner in his book Retreat to Victory? the idea that the south might have won the war had it used a different strategy might be impossible to answer. That being said, Tanner argues that amongst many theories that have developed over what the Confederacy could have done to win the Civil War, the strategy commonly referred to as Fabian would not be a prosperous endeavor by the Confederacy due to the southern geography, people and most importantly through the Confederacy s generals. The ideas presented in Tanner s book deserve recognition on the basis that the author s thesis is addressing a hypothetical supposition. However, the thesis here is unconventional, as Tanner doesn t introduce any innovative ideas, rather Tanner asserts how other historians bases are false. That being said, Tanner submits that something known as a Fabian strategy cannot be attributed to how the Confederacy might have won the war because of how this strategy exhausted popular support for the war between both common folk as well as with the Confederate troops. In addition, Tanner supplements this by describing how the geography of the south shows how a plan such as this would have left little hope that the Confederacy would have succeeded in dragging the war onward to the point of near desperation by the ... • 15. August Wilson Fences Analysis Fences by August Wilson August Wilson is ranked as one of the critical voices in American theatre. His plays are a revelation of remarkable talent that mentions on the African American lifestyle and experience and simultaneously creates a global appeal. Fences, one of his plays is a reflection of his rhetorical aims of using art in changing the existing relationship between the blacks and society as proof that the African American culture is fit for offering sustenance. Fences by August Wilson gets its title from the main character, Troy. In the beginning, he builds a fence for his wife as he engages in a conversation with Bono, his friend. The fence is completed by the end of Act 1 and Bono, and his wife had previously placed a bet that he would buy her a new refrigerator if the fence would be successfully built. Set up in Pittsburgh, PA on an African American section between the late 1950s and 1960s, the play rotates around father and son conflict. Troy is a garbage collector of African American origin and was once a famous ballplayer within the Negro Leagues before inclusion of the blacks in the American leagues. His son Cory has a talent for athletics sports and targets to win a college scholarship from football. Cory pleads with his father to allow him to quit his job at the grocery store to be fully involved in football. Nevertheless, his father does not accept which bars Cory from joining the high school team. This shows that Troy is not sensitive to Cory s wish, but on the contrary, he has the will to fight for his rights which sees him rise to become a garbage truck driver in the city. It is sad that he denies his son the opportunity of becoming a sportsperson. To make matters worse, Troy cheats on his wife Rose but show compassion to his brother Gabriel who is mentally disturbed. Gabriel got a head wound when he took part in the World War II, and his friendship with Bono is firm. Typologically speaking, hukou is an official identification system that records a resident s presence including his or her name, birth, economic power and rank, employment status, and other relevant information. The government can use a complex and traditional way to allocate the resources and social welfare within the country, in the meantime, maintain its control to individuals. Obstruction may happen, as the government would require doing a lot of complex work in allocating the resources and social welfares. Nevertheless, one has to understand that production, investment, prices, and incomes determine centrally by the government under the command economic system. The hukou system not only separates the population into two categories but also regulates internal migration. • 17. Role Of Heroes In My Life Essay The Hero in My Life Heroes can come into your life and change everything. My grandmother, Jackie, was my hero. A dedicated Christian, wonderful grandmother, a loving wife, and an exceptional selfless person. I accepted the Lord into my life, because she took the time to tell me about Him. She helped mold me into a thankful Christian mother; for that I will be forever grateful. My Grandmother was my greatest influence in life. There is no way I could ever have thanked her for the impact she left in my life. My grandmothers love was unconditional for her grandchildren. She was a devoted Christian woman, in church and out. She was always telling people of God and how great He was. No matter who you were she would pray with you and for you. Whether you were a sinner or saint, she was there for you. Every time I stayed with her, she would tell me wonderful stories of the Lord, as well as say our night time prayer. One night, as she kneeled by my bedside, we were about to say our prayers, she looked at me and said have you ever asked the Lord into your heart ? I told her no, I wasn t even sure what that meant or how to do. She explained to me, the Lord would live in my heart and I could talk with him whenever I needed to. He would protect me and forgive me, just like a father would. Of course, I said yes, who wouldn t want that? My Grandmother led me in the Sinners Prayer and my life has since been forever changed. When I became pregnant at 17, well before marriage, I thought surely my pregnancy was going to disappoint her. I had to tell my grandmother that I was pregnant. How could she still love me after doing something she would never approve of? Would she still be proud of me or ashamed of me? Open arms and unconditional love is what she showed me. No matter what you did in life, she loved you as if you were an angel. Even though the choices we made were wrong, never once did she put us down or make us feel bad. After telling her the news, she was still proud of me. That made me want to push even harder, to becoming something better in life. • 18. International Trade And Domestic Monetary Policy Essay 1. INTRODUCTION If you want to know the value of money, go and try to borrow some. This quote by Benjamin Franklin seems to have laid a foundation for several financial concepts and practices. International trade and domestic monetary policy of a country are closely connected to each other. A financial incentive can increase export opportunities for trading partners whereas foreign exchange controls for balance of payments can inhibit exports. Intervention of the Apex bank in foreign exchange markets may fuel exports and impede imports or vice versa, subject to the direction of manipulation. Several rules prohibit nations from deceitfully enhancing exports and reducing imports through exchange rate manipulation. Traditional hesitancy to pursue currency manipulations exists among policymakers even today. Some policymakers commiserate with purposes of currency manipulation, especially as protection against economic shockwaves and for providing income for upcoming generations when nonrenewable resources are exhausted. Although the unemployment figures have perceivably plunged in recent times, the economic downturn of 2008 has left a trail of economic and social displacement. The United States has already lost millions of jobs due to currency interventions by other countries. Will the ascension of a handful of greedy and fraudulent Wall Street traders coupled with China s hunger to be the world s most powerful economy, descend the global economy into a bottomless pit in ... • 20. Characteristics Of Beowulf A Modern Day Hero Heroes have been known widely for their non violent ways, their act of kindness, and helping people because it s the right thing to do (and not for fame). A modern day hero usually shows these types of acts. However, an Anglo Saxon hero shows some of the opposite traits, including violence. Beowulf is one of a good example of an Anglo Saxon hero. However, Beowulf shouldn t be considered as a modern day hero today because he had different super abilities that a normal person doesn t have, he uses the acts of violence, and he s really boastful about himself. Beowulf wouldn t be considered a modern day hero because he uses the acts of violence. Although his acts of violence would be considered heroic in Anglo Saxon times because of his bravery by defeating many monsters including Grendel, Grendel s Mom, and The Fire Dragon. Modern day heroes are also able to show bravery using their non violent ways. For example, Leslie Morissette was inspired by how her son Graham (who died at an early age) lived his life caring for others. Morissette founded the nonprofit Grahamtastic Connection in his honor. The organization provided free technology that includes computers, iPads, and robots to children battling cancer and other serious illnesses. The Battle Of Leipzig And The Battle Of Leipzig The Battle of Leipzig The Battle of Leipzig involved an exciting alliance that put into the battlefield against Napoleon, close to one million soldiers. This is the most substantial number of Soldiers ever assembled at this time in history. The battle of Leipzig is incorrectly compared to the campaigns of Austerlitz, Borodino, and Waterloo. Similarities are the disposition of forces and how events unfolded on one battlefield among two distinct lines of troops. Each line advanced towards each other, with the cavalry making a critical decision to turn a flank or risk opening a line of advance in the center. The infantry may exploit this action. The Battle of Leipzig was nothing like former assaults that were decisive by day s end, and most resemble the apparent disorganization of vast armies and retreat which were characteristic of much of the fighting in Russia just a year earlier in 1812. As this essay demonstrates, the Battle of Leipzig is best studied by looking ahead at wars waged by complex movements of mass formations. These formations consisted of allied armies whose coordination and reliability increased or decreased in conjunction with the relationship between the generals and kings or national leaders associated with them. The same proportionality in relationships became evident in both world wars and currently in Syria. The ICD codes are taken from the different sources within patients health care record, physician notes, lab results, x rays. In A Doll s House symbolic language and comparison are used to illustrate the protagonist s perspective in correlation to their situation. This results in Nora s point of view throughout the play being expressed in a more elaborate manner in regard to the positive and negative aspects of her life. Her absence of individual thought, the physical objectification she faces, and lack of significance to others all are all areas further expressed, and will be areas of further discussion. Ultimately through comparison and symbolism in the language used, Nora s perspective is further expressed, illustrating the epitome of the title, A Doll s House. Nora s understanding of how little individuality she possesses is expressed by the symbolic and comparative language present in the play. The plot clearly displays the role Nora plays in reference to serving her family, specifically Helmer. Well in the novel The Chrysalids the image of God, as reflected in Nicholson s Repentances, seems to agree with the first option. The image of God within this novel demands very strict guidelines. Due to these guidelines this image seems to discriminate against others who are not perfect in their eyes. If a person does not meet the requirements dictated by the image of God as stated within Nicholson s Repentances, they face grave consequences. In order to not serve these consequences, they must keep their flaws/blemishes secretive and this leads to conflicts. While other characters cause problems for others about the image of God. The author provides explanations to scientific reactions that make fog result from mixing together dry ice and water. Kuntzleman, the author of A Molecular Explanation of How Fog is Produced When Dry Ice Is Placed in Water , also explains why various ideas about dry ice are false. He demonstrates his ideas using experiments he says can be performed using primarily cheap, and easy to find material. The first experiment constructed is set up to effectively measure the density of fog. Because the experiments all deal with dry ice, it is vital to be able to measure the density of the fog resulting from a dry ice and liquid combination. Using a 500 mL flask with a round bottom and two openings is necessary. Approximately 200 mL of liquid is put into the flask. A piece of approximately 10 grams of dry ice is then placed into one opening on the flask. The other opening is covered by a plastic cuvette. Through the cuvette the fog s density can be measured using an LED light and sensor. Fog density is then recorded using the intensity of the light with the formula for the density of the fog, log(I/I0). The next performed experiment deals with where the fog originates. The atmospheric water is not the basis of DIWF (Dry Ice Water Fog). The source of this fog comes from bulk water. To prove this using a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Absorption Spectrum Of Dyes Lab Report Absorption Spectrum of Conjugated Dyes Bashar Baraz Lab Partners: whole class Physical Chemistry II 3/22/2015 Abstract: The highly conjugated system of the cyanine dyes makes it a very good compound in the development of more efficient solar cells. In this experiment, the maximum wavelength was measured for nine dyes using a UV Vis spectrum. The result that were obtained agreed with Kuhn s model for the less polarizable end groups such as 3,3 diethyloxadicarbocyanine and 3,3 diethyloxatricarbocyanine. That suggested that these two compounds were not as easy to polarize compared to the rest of the dyes. The rest of the dyes required the use of the empirical parameter α to provide more reliable predictions of the wavelengths. This was due to the highly polarized ends of the dyes which needed the adjustment of the parameter to get more accurate results. The series with the higher polarizable end groups absorbed higher wavelength light than the less polarized groups. This supported the idea of the one dimensional box. Also, higher wavelength was determined to be associated with longer conjugated carbon methine chains between the Nitrogen atoms. Kuhn s free electron model was very reliable for this system. Introduction: The conjugated electron system in polymethine dyes allows these compounds to absorb light in the visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum. • 40. Social Networking Effects On The Socialization Of People What if Facebook was used to its fullest potential? In twelve years the social networking site has surely grown quite a bit from the site intended to allow Harvard students to connect with one another. Today, Facebook is a site filled with advertisements and cheaply made free to play games. Cat pictures and cheery posts that say, Like/share if you love Jesus! riddle the landscape of a service that is supposed to be actually connecting people. Things like this have led people to lose hope in online social networking. To some it seems like it has become a detriment to society. However, the results of what happens when it is used properly should not be overlooked. Online social networking in general promotes actual relationships and benefits our society by providing a medium perfect for connecting with people in a variety of ways. As with everything, there are those who think differently, believing that social networking has adverse effects on the socialization of people. It s still surprising to me, however, this combination of Orwell and WALL E that has humans watching one another through computer screens and socializing through in quasi isolation, remarks an article on Times.com (Davis). Those of that opinion think that indirect communication via online social networking will lead to increased isolationist tendencies. While these seem like valid concerns, if anything, those feared online social networks actually help people in social ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Local Religious Freedom Restoration Act Local Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) are controversial in nature, because while they pretend to use the excuse to protect the free exercise of religion, intrinsically it is an avenue to attack same sex marriages which have been ruled constitutional by most circuit appellate courts in the United States. Currently the Supreme Court is hearing the cases that might ultimately decide the faith of marriage equality. United States v. Windsor opened the door for most federal appellate jurisdictions and some states to rule that prohibiting same sex marriage was constitutional, on the basis of the 14th Amendment equal protection clause. Despite this decision, the right to marriage is not an explicit protection addressed by the Constitution, and is often seen as a right delegated to the States under the 10th Amendment. On the other hand the free exercise clause is part of the First Amendment, and protects people from doing things that violate their religious principle, for example a Christian doctor from performing an abortion. The article from New York Times in which Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal is an attempt to legitimize that RFRA plays an important place in protecting the free exercise of religion of people and the power to authorize or prohibit same sex marriage rest on the states police powers under the 10th Amendment. While a majority of Americans nowadays sympathize with gay people and equality marriage it is a more difficult questions to address in the context ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The amusement parks are located in Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong and two locations in the United States, Florida and California. The second amusement park location was Florida. They purchased28,000 acres of land, enough for plenty of park expansion, shopping and lodging (The Walt Disney Comany and Affliated Companies, 2011). The park opened in 1971 with the flagship Magic Kingdom Park. In 1982 they added the futuristic park called the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow or EPCOT (The Walt Disney Comany and Affliated Companies, 2011). In more recent years the Florida park have added MGM Studios (now known as Hollywood Studios since the separation from MGM and Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney and two water parks. Walt Disney and the company had learned the lesson from California about space and in Florida they still have plenty to expand and they have dozens of hotels to host thousands of visitors. This became a destination vacation where families from all over the world came, stayed and played at the parks. The next venture was opening Disneyland in Tokyo. The company unsure of its first global park expansion let Tokyo build and own it and Disney just took royalties on the park (Solomon Stranger, 1994). • 43. Summary Of Racism In Once Upon A Time Pierre Berton once said Racism is a refuge for the ignorant. This relates to the story Once upon a time by showing how the couple in the short story portray uneasiness while giving into fear letting it create their limitations and blinding them from seeing that they were building their own cage still constantly trying to upgrade security leading themselves to loss of their son. In Once upon a time , Nadine Gordimer utilities characterization and diction to reveal the complexity of fear and racial discrimination and illustrates that one can t have a happy ending if he/she is too busy worrying about what could possibly destroy it. In Once Upon a Time , Gordimer utilities characterization by limning the fence around them as a cage they created to illustrate how fear can undermine one s ability to take control of their thoughts and actions and realize the true ignorance behind them. For instance, during the story the wife chose to upgrade the security again but the husband told her that he believed the amount of security they had was already enough. In the story, it states These people were not allowed into the suburb except as reliable housemaids and gardeners, so there was nothing to fear, the husband told the wife. Yet she was afraid that some day such people might come up the street and tear off the plaque YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED and open the gates and stream in... This evidence relates to fear because of how the couple chose to handle their illusions through callous actions. The author chose to include this because the couple is characterized as melodramatic at this point because they re constantly upgrading their security for the wife s growing obsession with security. The threats that motivated the wife s fixation were the riots that were happening outside of the suburb but the robbery that happened within their home. The wife said, She is right, let us take heed of her advice. So from every window and door in the house where they were living happily ever after they now saw the trees and sky through bars... This evidence illustrates how the couple delineates ignorance and commits callous actions and now tries to place what just happened as a reason why they ve been continuously upgrading their ... • 44. Clueless And Emma Analysis So I watched both Clueless and Aisha (Bollywood) and tried to write up the connection I felt watching both the movies; but while searching for the movie to watch I came up with yet another interesting fact that these both are the modern version of Emma (by Jane Austen). Well I have not gone through Emma but then researched about the characters in it and what are its connection with these two movies ( Clueless and Aisha ) and up with the brief summary. Clueless (1995) stars Alicia Silverstone as Cher Horowitz. Like Emma, she is rich and lives with her single father. Here she is only 15 and already has her own car and spends most of her time with her best friend, Dionne. Aisha (2010) staring Sonam Kapoor as Aisha, which is Bollywood s version of a modern Emma. Set in the high society of Delhi, it follows Aisha in her misguided matchmaking attempts. The Mr. Knightley character is played by her ex step brother, Josh, played by Paul Rudd. Clueless loosely follows a lot of Emma s plotlines. Like Emma and Cher, Aisha is a spoiled rich girl who means well but is really clueless. This one follows the book a little more closely than Clueless did and includes more characters, like the John Knightley and Jane Fairfax (Aarti). Cher hooks up two of her teachers and from there gets it into her head to be a matchmaker. She decides to give this version s Harriet Smith, new girl Tai (Brittany Murphy), a makeover and to hook her up with Elton. She convinces Tai that her crush, stoner ... Advantages And Disadvantages Of A Currency Union In Mexico Precious Dyer Professor Takeshi Yagihashi ECON 305 December 2, 2014 Currency Union Mexico Modern day Mexico has gone though many economic difficulties from government corruption and mass immigration from the country, to inflation in currency. A country that relies heavily on the service and textile industry. As of today economic standing is very good and the country continues to grow, as of right now Mexico is the 14th largest in the world in nominal terms and the 10th largest by purchasing power. The country has sustained macroeconomics stability and moved forward in reducing inflation and interest rates and has increased per capita income in household. The forming of a currency union also known as a monetary union is usually when two or more states or sovereign ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One way the union takes away is the independence of the country since membership of the eurozone establishes a single monetary policy, individual member states can no longer act autonomously, preventing them from printing money in order to pay back creditors and ease their risk of failure to pay. By printing money a country s currency is devalued relative to its (eurozone) trading partners, making its exports cheaper, in principle leading to an improved balance of trade, increased GDP and higher tax revenues in nominal terms. There are many advantages to establishing a monetary union especially for Mexico a new growing economic country. One advantage of creating a currency union would be an end to currency instability in the country and untimely fix the exchange rate. If Mexico was to join a union with the likes of The United States and Canada, Mexico would become more stable against any speculation than just as an individual country. Also the union would result in lower interest rates in the long run just like seen in Europe with the EU. A North American Union like this will also force ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
