Causes Of Learned Helplessness
Learned helplessness is approximately seen as cognitive individual variables that mirrors the habitual
manner where students exhibit the causes of bad events that occur them (Peterson Barrett, 1987; Lin
Peterson, 1990). Therefore, there are three causes that can impact students achievement because of the
bad events that students face which are internal against externality, stability against instability, and
globality against specificity. Thus, students who clarify bad events with the three causes internal,
stable, and global causes manifests more acute debilitation in their wake, passivity, and poor problem
solving. Indeed, these causes are called explanatory style, so explanatory style tends to be depressive
style. Nevertheless, explanatory

Social Impact Of The Agricultural Revolution And The...
Introduction
The Industrial Revolution began in the late 18th and 19th centuries and was a period of significant
economic development marked by the introduction of power driven machinery. Much like the
Agricultural Revolution, the Industrial Revolution began to take shape in Britain and then spread to
other countries. During the Industrial Revolution, many power driven machines were invented, which
replaced hand tools.
Social impacts
The Industrial Revolution increased the material wealth of the Western world. It also ended the
dominance of agriculture and initiated significant social change. During the 17 and 18 hundreds the
Agricultural revolution took place, which was a period of significant agricultural development. New

The working class made up 80% of society. Since population was increasing in Great Britain at the
same time that landowners were enclosing common village lands. This resulted in a very high
unemployment rate for workers in the first phases of the Industrial Revolution. Desperate for work,
the working class had no bargaining power to demand higher wages, fairer work hours, or better
working conditions. Worse still, since only wealthy people in Great Britain were eligible to vote,
workers could not use the democratic political system to fight for rights and reforms.
Economic Effects
In pre industrial times skilled craftsmen would work from traditional locations in the home and small
workshops, this was known as the cottage industry. When the Industrial Revolution begun, machines,
such as the steam engines were invented, to power large scale factories, the cottage industry system
could not keep up with the demand of goods. Therefore more people were forced to seek employment
in cities. With the majority of the population on unstable jobs or on the verge of unemployment, the
working class became completely dependent on the employer. Virtually slaves to the employer or
factory owner.

Clinton Church Meeting Essay
The 152nd Annual Conference of the Grand Ole North Carolina Conference convened at one of the
Conference s historical churches, Clinton Chapel AME Zion in New Bern, NC. Reverend Dr. M.
Luther Hill, its gifted pastor, and his great congregation were very gracious hosts and made everyone
feel welcomed. They opened their doors on Sunday and ministers, adorned in their priestly, white
robes, marched in to open this great Conference in High Church Methodist fashion. The service, filled
with high spiritual elements intertwining the liturgical elements, connected our hearts to the ancient
tradition of the Anglican Church; however, with an African American twist. Presiding Elder Lester
Jacobs, of the Washington District, delivered a soul stirring ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

With the spirit of the congregation lifted, people swayed, shouted, and reflected on God giving a new
name. The Right Rev. W. Darin Moore introduced Rev. Julian C. Pridgen, pastor of St. Augustus AME
Zion Church, and described him as a non fanfare preacher. Standing tall like wheat in a full field, Rev.
Pridgen based his sermon, Lazarus Ain t the Only One, on John 12:9 10. In his lyrical, smooth,
southern drawl voice, he described what happened to Lazarus in the chosen periscope. He poignantly
and instructively helped the congregation have a deeper and reflective understanding of the text and its
context. In great preaching tradition, this preacher scholastically, theologically, and prophetically
moved the church to a spiritual frenzy causing exuberant moments of praise, prayer, and crying.

Standardized Testing Is Not Beneficial
Standardized Testing
In the world today standardized testing is mandatory in all schools whether they are public or private.
If schools continue to make these test mandatory, students grades will show the reflection of what they
are not learning. The school might also receive less state funding due to poor performance on these
tests. Once No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) was introduced US students slipped from 18th in the
world in math in 2000 to 31st in 2009 (Standardized). Standardized testing is not beneficial overall
because it does not cater to all students, they do not cover real life topics, and they are detrimental to
students.
Standardized tests do not cover real life topics. Standardized tests are less educational than parents
think. States make schools take these tests in order to get more funding and to see how the teachers are
performing. These tests have many effects on the students and their grades. The Kansas Silent Reading
Test is one of the first known multiple choice standardized test in America. This test was created to
reduce Time and Effort in administration and scoring (Standardized). Although schools do use the
standardized testing methods in the classrooms today that was not what it was originally used for.
Standardized testing began in the United States during WWI because the Army needed a method to
determine which soldiers were Officer Material (Billy 75).
Students in grades 4 12 have to take some type of standardized test every

Oklahoma City Bombing Research Paper
In 1995, it all started as a peaceful Wednesday morning. People were starting work or just waking up
in Oklahoma City. While all these peoples days were starting, a young male parked a yellow truck
outside of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. That day, everyone s life in that building changed
forever. The effects of the April 19,1995 bombing were more than just physical to the survivors of this
horrific event. The incident was planned a year before the bombing, in an old trailer in Kingman
Arizona between an ex military man named Timothy McVeigh, and some of his military friends
(Casey). McVeigh was just like any other boy growing up. He was into toys and sports, but he was
very into guns. When he was older, he joined the army and was the top of his squadron. After given
the opportunity to join the Green Berets but not meeting up to their standards, he left the army and
tried to become a worker. During this time, he followed his hobby for guns and joined many militias.

The Creator Research Paper
The Creator
The definition of God is the creator and ruler of the universe and source of all moral authority; the
Supreme Being. Though many people won t believe it there is a God; if he didn t exist this galaxy, this
earth and the people that dwell in it would not exist. The purpose of this paper is inform people of his
existence.
There are always in explainable and seemingly impossible events or miracles that occur and if there is
no God how else could you explain them. Things don t just happen by chance. For example, scientists

Changes that allow an organism to better adapt to its environment will help it survive and have more
offspring. The two main points of the theory are All life on earth is connected and related to each other
and this diversity of life is a product of modifications of populations by natural selection, where some
traits were favored in and environment over others. For those that believe in evolution, if we evolved
from ape like ancestors how did they get here? Why aren t the ape like ancestors around? Why is there
no evidence of them ever existing? The answer, because humans did not evolve from ape like
creatures but were created just as all living things were. Evolution proposes that only a small group of
individuals that were genetically isolated from the others, evolved, leaving the others to remain the
same. The only way we know to acquire new genes is to alter existing genes through random
mutation. The best alteration science has observed has produced only novel re combinations, most
deteriorate the genetic information and thus harm the offspring. Many mutations are fatal. Evolution
requires trillions of innovative mutations to produce man from lower forms, and at least millions to
produce man or apes from an ape like ancestor. None have been observed. Therefore evolution is just
a bunch of nonsense that

Computer Networking is Revolutionizing Our Society
The Internet, a combination of technology, communication, and media, is a developing and unique
medium in its infancy. Technology and tools of communication are still in the process of development
as technology continues to advance. As a site of cultural, political, and ideological discussion, it has
unquestionably contributed to a culture and lifestyle dependent on technology. The World Wide Web
has reconfigured people s perception of the world, allowing access to an extensive amount of
information that previously has been inaccessible to them. In addition to enabling users to gain access
to a plethora of information, the Internet is a tool of globalization in which ideas, knowledge, and
thoughts are instantaneously shared on a worldwide scale. While some have portrayed the Internet as a
powerful tool for free expression on the global network, others have highlighted the potential of
networks with which the government can constrain the power of organizations through collective
online actions and surveillance. With increasing advancements in technology comes greater and easier
access to information and control. In a democratic nation, the Internet s ability to facilitate access to
information about another person violates privacy rights. With the Internet, existing laws are
ambiguous about what standards apply for different kinds of surveillance. Computer networking is

The Effect of Single Parent Families to Children
CHAPTER 1
THE PROBLEM
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY A family is often pictured by many with two parents. But for some
their family composes of only one. Doug Hewitt (2010), an eHow Contributor said that Single parents
families are defined as households in which there is at least one child under the age of 18 and there is
only one parent in the household because of divorce, death or because the parent never married.
Moreover, Cox (1984) emphasized that the largest percentage of single parent families result from
divorce followed by death of a parent. According to Medina (2005) there are different types of a single
parent family. First is the widow or widower and children which is caused by a death of spouse where
the surviving spouse did not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Divorced families present a greater risk for children with depression or other serious psychiatric
disorders to develop. Spencer (1982) said in his book entitled Foundations of Modern Technology that
children are more likely to die of coronary heart disease in later years if they had lost one or both
parents before entering college. According to Traci S Campbell (2010) education of children can also
be affected she said that children that are raised in a single parent household have lower grades than
those who are raised in a home with both parents. This can be in a home where the child has always
been raised by one parent or in homes where a divorce or separation has recently taken place. Studies
also show children raised in a single parent household are less likely to go to college or take steps to
continue their education. There are also a higher percentage of drop outs that were raised in a single
family home. Time spent with a single parent during the formative preschool years seems to have
particularly bad effects on a boy s education, according to Sheila Fitzgerald Krein and Andrea H.
Beller of the school of human resources and family studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana.
The report in Demography, the journal of the Population Association of America, said that many
studies have focused on the psychological consequences for children in one parent

Louisville Flood Victims By Margaret Bourke-White
Description:
Margaret Bourke White. Louisville Flood Victims. 1937. Photograph.
Analysis:
Margaret Bourke White utilizes the actual horizontal lines of the billboard, as well as the implied lines
of the people s heads. The repetition of the people along with the faces on the billboard, forcefully
move the attention horizontally to the right of the photograph. This, in turn, makes the viewer
anticipate what is coming next. Although we know that the people are in a state of motion, there is a
sense of stillness as if the moment will never end. At first glance, the balance appears to be somewhat
symmetrical, but looking further, one notices the small cluster of children in the bottom left corner,
casting the balance as asymmetrical. It also appears as if there is a downward slope going from the
furthermost right, to the furthermost left of the image. The colors seem varied and dark, contrasting
the coats of the individuals with the stark white bags, and the intrusive bright colors of the billboard,
this creates a contrast in the mood of the apparent glee of the billboard, with the traumatic expressions
of the individuals. Although black and white, the image uses a wide range of light and dark, going
from the bright white of the bags and billboard, to the deep darks of the coats and few of the glum
faces. In between these two extremes, there are varying shades of light and dark in the billboard and
surrounding scene. Finally, the emphasis is placed on the people, the victims of the Louisville flood. ...

warfare and invasions began to stop occurring because the feudal system started to break down.
Traders started to feel safe to travel long distances. That is when trade began to grow, and a strong

Higher Power In George Orwell s 1984
What would happen if the government or another form of power could decide what is real and what is
not? What if one day you woke up and your favorite fun fact or best known memory of the war had
been vaporized overnight? Within George Orwell s dystopian novel titled 1984 there is a perfect
example of a higher power that controls the reality of the population. In this story the higher power,
known as Big Brother, has the power to manipulate facts, the history, and even the thoughts of the
population. The majority of citizens in this book follow Big Brother and whole heartedly believe in all
that The Party has to say, but not Winston. The main character of this story, Winston, knows of many
alterations made to history. Maybe the entire population knows the real truth, but if Big Brother has
the ability to vaporize people, places, or events in history; where is the proof? It has been made clear
all throughout this novel that, yes, Big Brother definitely has the ability to decide what is real and
what is not. The Party does this by making certain people, items, or events completely disappear and
making it clear to the population who is in charge. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay on Partisan elections
Partisan Elections
In the following essay I will be talking about the disadvantages and advantages of partisan elections
for state politics. I will also examine the last couple year s election results and costs. Finally, I will
discuss if partisanship made a difference in the vote, as well as if a judge should be decided by
partisan vote. In the next couple paragraphs I will talk more specifically about these topics.
First, let s talk about the advantages of partisan elections compared to nonpartisan elections. It makes
voting a lot faster because the people can just go to either democrat, republican or independent
column. They do not have to go through a big list of candidates ... Show more content on

Secondly, I will now talk about the disadvantages of having a partisan election. First, partisan
elections cost a lot more money than nonpartisan elections, because in nonpartisan elections you do
not have to campaign. The voters must do their own research on the candidates and makes the voter
actually think and know why they are going to vote. A bad thing about this though would be time. Not
everybody has time to go out and do research on candidates, because most people work eight or more
hour shifts at work and then they do not want to go out and do research. Another disadvantage would
be I think there is too much information out there for the candidates, which ends up confusing the
voter instead of benefiting. This makes it harder when coming to vote, so many people will just mark
anything because they do not care. These would be one the biggest disadvantages of partisan elections
to me in state politics.
I will now examine some of last election year s results. Voter turnout has decreased in the past years.
There are two main factors that have been coming up in the past years. First, many citizens say that
who is elected in office is not as important as it once was. Secondly, younger Americans are more
cynical and disconnected from politics than ever. I think there is too much information out there and
another thing that might be the reason this is happening is

Why Women s Women Have Been Repressed For A Long Period...
Why not Women?
Women have been repressed for a long period of history. Only recently have women started to gain
respect as equals and individuals. While women s rights have advanced in many ways in the past 50
years alone, it is obvious that there is a significant disconnect in the advancement of women in the
church. The promotion of gender equality is a slow and painful process, and has barely begun to
progress worldwide. Attitudes towards women as leaders in the church, and in religion in general, are
rooted in Biblical interpretations of women s involvement, not only in leadership in the church, but
also in marriage, society, and government. The role of gender in religion is one that is often ignored;
yet the issue should be addressed in that most religions, particularly Christianity and Catholicism,
place women in submissive roles. This encourages the gender gap in society as a whole.
Traditionally, Christianity has given men the position of authority in marriage, society, and
government. The Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches, and many conservative Protestant
denominations emphasize today that only men can be ordained as priests, clergy, and as deacons. Even
though women are not seen as traditional leaders in the church, the majority of Christians have
immense respect for women. After all, God chose a woman, Mary, to have the honor of giving birth to
Jesus, the Son of God. Historically, women have played very significant roles in religion. Nuns,
specifically,

Evaluation Of A Research On Management Education
Thank you for your submission to Journal of Management Education, Criticality in Management
Education: What It Is and What It Is Not (JME 16 0084 ETR). I have completed the evaluation of your
paper by soliciting reviews from three experts, who assessed the potential contribution to management
education research. Based on their assessment and mine, I would like to offer a high risk revise and
resubmit for this manuscript.
As I understand it from my reading and the reviewers comments, the aim of this manuscript is to
provide a systematic review of criticality in the management education domain. Like most instructors
who aspire to foster students criticality/critical thinking skills, I read this manuscript with great
interest for new insights into the literature and for ideas I could use in the classroom. As it currently
stands the document s strength is its aspiration summarized by Reviewer 3 (R3): Your manuscript has
an interesting premise that we use the term critical loosely and management education can benefit
from a critical discussion, more precision, and focus. You present a complicated and important
concept, and attempt to delineate terms and meaning. However, this is more work to be done to
actualize this intent. The manuscript s weaknesses are in four main areas: 1) argumentation, 2)
systematic review methods 3) scope, and 4) implications for practice. Each point is elaborated below
and with suggestions for you to consider during your revision.

Deforestation And Its Effects On Deforestation
Rainforests are found typically in tropical areas with a constant heavy rainfall in its biodiversity. When
areas of rainforests are destroyed, it s not just the trees that disappear. It s time for the government to
take action on deforestation. Rainforests are an important location for indigenous people and animals
because that s where their home belongs. Yet the government and organizations ignore those facts and
just demolish their homes in order to gain a new location for productions. It s a topic that s constantly
debated in politics and society should take a recognition on what s happening in deforestation. More
than half of the world s rainforests are destroyed and is in danger by humans, therefore, the
government shouldn t allow deforestation anymore in order to save the remaining rainforests in the
environment because it affects habitats, species, and indigenous people. Loss of habitats is an evident
threat in the rainforest as the facilities continue to form new funds to buildings and resources. In
deforestation, people can profit and revenue on the resources to inhibit for society to use. They profit
on the resources they sell to other countries after they obtain the sources they received from the
rainforests. Rather than the facilities looking at a profit for their own benefits, the destruction of the
land will cause the species to never return back nor will it provide shelter for them in their adapting
habitat. Even if deforestation is to distribute goods

Appeasement Of Ww2 Essay
How Appeasement Aided the Start of World War II When one chooses to take the easy path, there will
always be unforeseen consequences, and this is exactly what happened in the policy concerning Hitler
and Nazi Germany leading up to World War II. The Munich Agreement was signed on September 30,
1938 and it was at that moment that Hitler agreed to not take any more countries by force.
Specifically, the agreement stated that Hitler would not take Sudetenland, a region in Czechoslovakia,
seeing as it was given to him and force was not needed to take it. For Hitler, the Munich Agreement
was a policy of appeasement towards the British and French. He signed the agreement knowing that
he had no intention of abiding by it and that he would leave the rest of the allies looking ignorant to
the world and even worse, to their own citizens. The appeasement was a failure and all it
accomplished was leading the allies to believe that Hitler could be trusted. The events leading up to
the Munich Agreement and the document itself fueled the fire for World War II and only intensified
Hitler s need for power. According to the Encyclopedia Britannica (2015) the Munich Agreement,
(September 30, 1938), [is the] settlement reached by Germany, Great Britain, France, and Italy that
permitted German annexation of the Sudetenland in western Czechoslovakia. The Czechoslovakian s
were not allowed to take part in the conference, even though the fate of their country was at stake. The

Tasty Treats
The purpose of this paper is examine operating budgets and variance analysis for Tasty Treats. It will
discuss Budgets and fianances can be the sole reason a company succeeds or fails. It is important for a
company to know how much they need for future inventory, the cost of materials to produce an item,
the overhead costs, and any other items needed to manufacture their products. In this paper we will
discuss some changes we should make to change the unfavorable items on the variance report. In
examining the variance for the product costs, the results are unfavorable. The total for direct materials
are were more than 7,750 more than originally estimated. We originally factored in a cost of $232,500
for the cost of of the products. Instead we spent $240,250. It is important for us to have the number
accurate. This could be due to a cost increase in raw materials, additional transportation costs, not
purchasing in bulk, and not paying invoices within the interest free period. The direct material price
variance is neither favorable or unfavorable because the cost of the product is the same. The direct
quantiy variance is also unfavorableThe direct material quantity has a variance which could be caused

This coud be due to a number of things such as, employees horse playing at work, safety issues, or
equipment malfunctions. The direct labor variance is favorable because is $16.00 per hour standard
cost $1.00 less than the actual cost. This could be due to new workers with no experience being hired
or hiring temporary workers which are paid less. The direct labor time had an unfavorable variance.
This variance could be due to employees playing around instead of working, a problem with the
equipment, such as the machinery is in need of repair or replacement. The workers could be less
experienced so it takes them longer to complete tasks or they may not be trained

Lord Of The Flies Critical Lens Analysis
Being Consumed by Fear Leads to Regrettable Decisions When people are little kids, it is easy for
them to feed into their fears and become dependent on adults for comfort. As adults, people usually
conceal their fears and try to keep a clear mindset so unnecessary issues do not occur. In Stephen King
s adaptation The Mist and William Golding s novel The Lord of The Flies, adults and children are
pulled into their fears and eventually feed into them. In The Lord of The Flies, a plane full of British
boys crashes on a deserted island with no adults in sight. The boys slowly turn on each other and, due
to a mysterious beast, they are consumed by fear and behave irrationally. In The Mist, a fog rolls
through town with unknown creatures lurking inside and people are terrified. The town s citizens are
trapped inside a grocery store, and when they want to go out, death has it s doors open and waiting.
Slowly, the people inside start to lose human decency toward each other and chaos breaks out. In both
of these stories, people are controlled by fear, have no concept of law and order, and turn a blind eye
to logic. When people feel safe and confident, they have a level mind set. In the beginning of The
Lord of The Flies, a little boy with a mulberry birth mark tells the boys leader Ralph that he saw a
beastie. At first, everyone keeps their eyes open for a frightening snake. Overtime, the beastie turns
into something even more revolting and the boys are terrified. They believe it

How Mormon Fundamentalism And Provide A Brief History Of...
This essay will discuss Mormon fundamentalism and provide a brief history of the tenets and practices
of the religion. The term Mormon fundamentalist refers to a religious group, sect, or individual who
believes the teachings of the Mormon scriptures, and follows the teachings of early Mormon leaders.
In Western New York in 1830, Joseph Smith Jr. organized the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day
Saints, or LDS Church. Other early leaders of the church include Brigham Young and John Taylor,
who along with Joseph Smith Jr., are accepted by Mormon fundamentalists as prophets of God. There
are an estimated 38,000 Mormon fundamentalists living in North American territories, though the
estimate is only based on the number of people who openly distinguish themselves as such. The
majority of reported Mormon fundamentalists are located in the western states of Utah, Arizona,
Nevada, and Idaho.
One of the most significant principles of this religion is plural marriage, which Mormon
fundamentalists refer to as the Divine Principle. The founder of Mormonism, Joseph Smith Jr., claims
to have received direction from God to live a polygamist lifestyle. According to Smith, a man had to
have a minimum of three wives to be able to reach the highest level of heaven. Members of the LDS
Church practiced polygamy in relatively small numbers of approximately 30 percent between 1852
and 1890. The practice of plural marriage has been a controversial topic within the Western society of

Costing Pricing
Introduction
Zauner Ornaments was a large manufacturer of crystal and glass products based in Vienna Austria.
The company had an international reputation of producing high quality glass and crystal at affordable

process. Its product was used in fine restaurants, hotels and residencies around the world.
Due to slowing growth in the fine crystal and glass tableware markets, the organization has expanded
into producing glass Christmas tree ornaments to take advantage of its Crystal s unique capabilities.

method coming to $21.12 ,$13.56 and $8.43 respectively . It is mentioning that management has not

if Zauner would have been made decision on volume based cost findings. It means that there are many
issues with allocating overhead cost in various product lines. Here we have carried out ABC method

The Pros And Cons Of Contract Contracts
Formed contracts usually consist exclusion or exemption clauses limiting the liability of party/parties
for contractual breach. These clauses aim at excluding the legal responsibilities of the parties for
particular types of injuries, losses/damages sustained by the other party. However, the courts had made
distinction between exclusion and limitation clauses limiting the amount of compensation for
contractual breaches. Traditionally, the courts do not assess the exclusion clauses on merit grounds, to
avoid contradicting the general idea of freedom of contract . Hence the courts, in order to supervise
and for better use of these clauses; developed common law rules addressing incorporation and
construction. Additionally, the governmental developed statutory regulations, Unfair Contract Terms
Act (UCTA) 1977 dealing with business to business and consumer to consumer contracts ... Show

However, if the clause is put forward after the contract, then it cannot be incorporated as seen in the
cases of Olley v Marlbourough Court Hotel; and Thornton v Shoe Lane Parking. Incorporation can
also be done by a course of previous dealings as the parties are fully aware of the terms and clauses
that could form the part of the contract. Regularity and consistency in dealings is crucial, evident in
the cases of McCutcheon v MacBrayne; and Hollier v Rambler Motors; where exclusion clause could
not be incorporated due to a non consistent course of conduct. In cases of onerous or unusual clauses,
more efforts must be made to draw the attention of the party. Considering present case facts closely, it
is established that the exclusion clause was incorporated into the contract through previous dealings as
Jacob and Georgina has a business history and thus proving Georgina s prior knowledge of the

Defining The Short Squeeze Event
1 IntroductionBefore defining the Short Squeeze event, I will explain the concept of Short sellingof
stocks. Short selling is a strategy, where an trader borrows stocks of firms from abroker and sells those
stocks in the market with the condition of returning the stocksback to the broker at later point of the
time. Traders execute this strategy when theexpected future returns of stock performance is bleak or
have negative outlook.Forexample, if the future expected earnings, sales, cash flows of the company is
expectedto decline in next quarters, the investors will short sell the the stock now and buythe stocks in
future and return the borrowed shares to the brokers. This strategy is contrary to normal investment

levels of short interest predict future returns, but the rationale behind thisthis predictability is not well
understood. There are various theories that lead todifferent interpretations. One of the study suggests
that stocks are overvalued in thepresence of short sale constraint and hence the subsequent negative
abnormal returnsrepresent a correct of this overvaluation. Second suggests that short interest sellersare

This can show how book are the soupier to movies because without the book in the first place the
movie would have never made. Movies like Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Speak, Twilight, The Book
Thief, How to Train Your Dragon, and many more. All of these movies started as renowned books,
that had won many awards. However when they are made into movies the audience loses some of the
key factors that played into making the book so famous. When reading the books, the reader can get
an idea of the feeling of characters. Readers know exactly what they are thinking, how they are feeling
and what they are planning to do next. In earlier Shakespearian plays director attempted to keep this
idea of know what the main character was feeling and thinking by adding in a monologue. But this
monologue was broken away from the rest of the play. Actors would break character and speak
directly to the audience of what they were thinking and wanted. This was later seen as distracting to
the audience though, and it was removed in later production, and is why we do not see them in movies
now. Books have a nicer flow to them and inside because readers will always know what the character
is thinking, feeling, and going to do. Something that audiences do not get in the theaters, showing
again that books have better understanding of quality.
Continuing on with better qualities of books, readers will get a better feeling of accomplishment when

Observation Of Student Motivation
The teacher began the lesson by showing students a place value chart. The teacher also checked for
fluency by asking the students double fact addition sentences and had them write on their individual
white board. The teacher had the students use a place value chart to count $124 with in their groups.
b. What was the motivational question or questions, if you can t identify one or any state that?
Why do we call this a place value chart?
How much do you have?
If you have 10 dollar bills, what can you do?
How did you organize your money?
c. What teaching strategies were used to maintain student motivation throughout the lesson?
The first strategy I saw the teacher use was activating student s prior knowledge. The teacher asked
the students several questions that made students think throughout the lesson. The teacher had the
students engaged by using a dry erase board and a marker. The teacher also used manipulatives such
as fake money and a place value chart to have students count money. Last but not least the teacher
planned for group work.
d. What student behavior gave you the impression that students were indeed motivated to learn?
The students were actively engaged. They seemed excited to be able to participate by using their
boards. Some students found it almost like a competition when the teacher was checking for fluency. I
noticed that students that usually don t like to participate put their hands up. The students seemed
excited when

The Causes Of The Korean War
Korea existed under Japanese control from 1910 until the end of World War II in 1945. After the war,
the Korean Peninsula was divided into two states along the 38th parallel. The Soviet union controlled
the communist north while the United States controlled the nationalist and anti communist south.
Soviet general Terentii Shtykov established the Provisional People s Committee for North Korea in
1946 and Kim Il sung became chairman. Shtykov broke North Korea s stratified class system,
nationalized critical industries, and as a result many fled to the south. Later that year, South Korean
citizens resisted the rule of the Allied Military Government and continued to resist despite violent
opposition until they declared their statehood in May 1948. Shortly after this, The Democratic People
s Republic of Korea was established, and Kim Il sung became the premier leader. Shtykov suspected
President Syngman Rhee of South Korea was planning an attack on North Korea, and so with the help
of Jospeh Stalin, North Korea launched an attack on South Korea on June 25th, 1950. This started the
Korean War, which was essentially a proxy war between America and the Soviets. The United Nations
force (led by the United States) assisted South Korea in the war. China assisted North Korea, and
would continue to follow this pattern of allying with North Korea until modern day. The war ended on
July 27th, 1953. An agreement was signed that restored the original boundary along the 38th parallel.

Causes Of Learned Helplessness Learned helplessness is approximately seen as cognitive individual variables that mirrors the habitual manner where students exhibit the causes of bad events that occur them (Peterson Barrett, 1987; Lin Peterson, 1990). Therefore, there are three causes that can impact students achievement because of the bad events that students face which are internal against externality, stability against instability, and globality against specificity. Thus, students who clarify bad events with the three causes internal, stable, and global causes manifests more acute debilitation in their wake, passivity, and poor problem solving. Introduction The Industrial Revolution began in the late 18th and 19th centuries and was a period of significant economic development marked by the introduction of power driven machinery. Much like the Agricultural Revolution, the Industrial Revolution began to take shape in Britain and then spread to other countries. During the Industrial Revolution, many power driven machines were invented, which replaced hand tools. Social impacts The Industrial Revolution increased the material wealth of the Western world. It also ended the dominance of agriculture and initiated significant social change. Since population was increasing in Great Britain at the same time that landowners were enclosing common village lands. This resulted in a very high unemployment rate for workers in the first phases of the Industrial Revolution. Desperate for work, the working class had no bargaining power to demand higher wages, fairer work hours, or better working conditions. Worse still, since only wealthy people in Great Britain were eligible to vote, workers could not use the democratic political system to fight for rights and reforms. Economic Effects In pre industrial times skilled craftsmen would work from traditional locations in the home and small workshops, this was known as the cottage industry. When the Industrial Revolution begun, machines, such as the steam engines were invented, to power large scale factories, the cottage industry system could not keep up with the demand of goods. Therefore more people were forced to seek employment in cities. With the majority of the population on unstable jobs or on the verge of unemployment, the working class became completely dependent on the employer. Virtually slaves to the employer or factory owner. • 6. Standardized Testing Is Not Beneficial Standardized Testing In the world today standardized testing is mandatory in all schools whether they are public or private. If schools continue to make these test mandatory, students grades will show the reflection of what they are not learning. The school might also receive less state funding due to poor performance on these tests. Once No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) was introduced US students slipped from 18th in the world in math in 2000 to 31st in 2009 (Standardized). Standardized testing is not beneficial overall because it does not cater to all students, they do not cover real life topics, and they are detrimental to students. Standardized tests do not cover real life topics. Standardized tests are less educational than parents think. States make schools take these tests in order to get more funding and to see how the teachers are performing. These tests have many effects on the students and their grades. The Kansas Silent Reading Test is one of the first known multiple choice standardized test in America. This test was created to reduce Time and Effort in administration and scoring (Standardized). Although schools do use the standardized testing methods in the classrooms today that was not what it was originally used for. While all these peoples days were starting, a young male parked a yellow truck outside of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. That day, everyone s life in that building changed forever. The effects of the April 19,1995 bombing were more than just physical to the survivors of this horrific event. The incident was planned a year before the bombing, in an old trailer in Kingman Arizona between an ex military man named Timothy McVeigh, and some of his military friends (Casey). McVeigh was just like any other boy growing up. He was into toys and sports, but he was very into guns. When he was older, he joined the army and was the top of his squadron. For those that believe in evolution, if we evolved from ape like ancestors how did they get here? Why aren t the ape like ancestors around? Why is there no evidence of them ever existing? The answer, because humans did not evolve from ape like creatures but were created just as all living things were. Evolution proposes that only a small group of individuals that were genetically isolated from the others, evolved, leaving the others to remain the same. The only way we know to acquire new genes is to alter existing genes through random mutation. The best alteration science has observed has produced only novel re combinations, most deteriorate the genetic information and thus harm the offspring. Many mutations are fatal. Evolution requires trillions of innovative mutations to produce man from lower forms, and at least millions to produce man or apes from an ape like ancestor. None have been observed. Technology and tools of communication are still in the process of development as technology continues to advance. As a site of cultural, political, and ideological discussion, it has unquestionably contributed to a culture and lifestyle dependent on technology. The World Wide Web has reconfigured people s perception of the world, allowing access to an extensive amount of information that previously has been inaccessible to them. In addition to enabling users to gain access to a plethora of information, the Internet is a tool of globalization in which ideas, knowledge, and thoughts are instantaneously shared on a worldwide scale. While some have portrayed the Internet as a powerful tool for free expression on the global network, others have highlighted the potential of networks with which the government can constrain the power of organizations through collective online actions and surveillance. With increasing advancements in technology comes greater and easier access to information and control. In a democratic nation, the Internet s ability to facilitate access to information about another person violates privacy rights. • 12. Louisville Flood Victims By Margaret Bourke-White Description: Margaret Bourke White. Louisville Flood Victims. 1937. Photograph. Analysis: Margaret Bourke White utilizes the actual horizontal lines of the billboard, as well as the implied lines of the people s heads. The repetition of the people along with the faces on the billboard, forcefully move the attention horizontally to the right of the photograph. This, in turn, makes the viewer anticipate what is coming next. Although we know that the people are in a state of motion, there is a sense of stillness as if the moment will never end. At first glance, the balance appears to be somewhat symmetrical, but looking further, one notices the small cluster of children in the bottom left corner, casting the balance as asymmetrical. It also appears as if there is a downward slope going from the furthermost right, to the furthermost left of the image. The colors seem varied and dark, contrasting the coats of the individuals with the stark white bags, and the intrusive bright colors of the billboard, this creates a contrast in the mood of the apparent glee of the billboard, with the traumatic expressions of the individuals. Although black and white, the image uses a wide range of light and dark, going from the bright white of the bags and billboard, to the deep darks of the coats and few of the glum faces. In between these two extremes, there are varying shades of light and dark in the billboard and surrounding scene. Within George Orwell s dystopian novel titled 1984 there is a perfect example of a higher power that controls the reality of the population. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Secondly, I will now talk about the disadvantages of having a partisan election. First, partisan elections cost a lot more money than nonpartisan elections, because in nonpartisan elections you do not have to campaign. The voters must do their own research on the candidates and makes the voter actually think and know why they are going to vote. A bad thing about this though would be time. Not everybody has time to go out and do research on candidates, because most people work eight or more hour shifts at work and then they do not want to go out and do research. Another disadvantage would be I think there is too much information out there for the candidates, which ends up confusing the voter instead of benefiting. This makes it harder when coming to vote, so many people will just mark anything because they do not care. These would be one the biggest disadvantages of partisan elections to me in state politics. I will now examine some of last election year s results. Voter turnout has decreased in the past years. There are two main factors that have been coming up in the past years. First, many citizens say that who is elected in office is not as important as it once was. Secondly, younger Americans are more cynical and disconnected from politics than ever. • 17. Why Women s Women Have Been Repressed For A Long Period... Why not Women? Women have been repressed for a long period of history. Only recently have women started to gain respect as equals and individuals. While women s rights have advanced in many ways in the past 50 years alone, it is obvious that there is a significant disconnect in the advancement of women in the church. The promotion of gender equality is a slow and painful process, and has barely begun to progress worldwide. Attitudes towards women as leaders in the church, and in religion in general, are rooted in Biblical interpretations of women s involvement, not only in leadership in the church, but also in marriage, society, and government. The role of gender in religion is one that is often ignored; yet the issue should be addressed in that most religions, particularly Christianity and Catholicism, place women in submissive roles. This encourages the gender gap in society as a whole. Traditionally, Christianity has given men the position of authority in marriage, society, and government. The Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches, and many conservative Protestant denominations emphasize today that only men can be ordained as priests, clergy, and as deacons. Even though women are not seen as traditional leaders in the church, the majority of Christians have immense respect for women. After all, God chose a woman, Mary, to have the honor of giving birth to Jesus, the Son of God. Historically, women have played very significant roles in religion. Nuns, specifically, ... • 23. Evaluation Of A Research On Management Education Thank you for your submission to Journal of Management Education, Criticality in Management Education: What It Is and What It Is Not (JME 16 0084 ETR). I have completed the evaluation of your paper by soliciting reviews from three experts, who assessed the potential contribution to management education research. Based on their assessment and mine, I would like to offer a high risk revise and resubmit for this manuscript. As I understand it from my reading and the reviewers comments, the aim of this manuscript is to provide a systematic review of criticality in the management education domain. Like most instructors who aspire to foster students criticality/critical thinking skills, I read this manuscript with great interest for new insights into the literature and for ideas I could use in the classroom. As it currently stands the document s strength is its aspiration summarized by Reviewer 3 (R3): Your manuscript has an interesting premise that we use the term critical loosely and management education can benefit from a critical discussion, more precision, and focus. You present a complicated and important concept, and attempt to delineate terms and meaning. However, this is more work to be done to actualize this intent. The manuscript s weaknesses are in four main areas: 1) argumentation, 2) systematic review methods 3) scope, and 4) implications for practice. Each point is elaborated below and with suggestions for you to consider during your revision. 1. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 24. Deforestation And Its Effects On Deforestation Rainforests are found typically in tropical areas with a constant heavy rainfall in its biodiversity. When areas of rainforests are destroyed, it s not just the trees that disappear. It s time for the government to take action on deforestation. Rainforests are an important location for indigenous people and animals because that s where their home belongs. Yet the government and organizations ignore those facts and just demolish their homes in order to gain a new location for productions. It s a topic that s constantly debated in politics and society should take a recognition on what s happening in deforestation. More than half of the world s rainforests are destroyed and is in danger by humans, therefore, the government shouldn t allow deforestation anymore in order to save the remaining rainforests in the environment because it affects habitats, species, and indigenous people. Loss of habitats is an evident threat in the rainforest as the facilities continue to form new funds to buildings and resources. In deforestation, people can profit and revenue on the resources to inhibit for society to use. They profit on the resources they sell to other countries after they obtain the sources they received from the rainforests. Rather than the facilities looking at a profit for their own benefits, the destruction of the land will cause the species to never return back nor will it provide shelter for them in their adapting habitat. Even if deforestation is to distribute goods ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Appeasement Of Ww2 Essay How Appeasement Aided the Start of World War II When one chooses to take the easy path, there will always be unforeseen consequences, and this is exactly what happened in the policy concerning Hitler and Nazi Germany leading up to World War II. The Munich Agreement was signed on September 30, 1938 and it was at that moment that Hitler agreed to not take any more countries by force. Specifically, the agreement stated that Hitler would not take Sudetenland, a region in Czechoslovakia, seeing as it was given to him and force was not needed to take it. For Hitler, the Munich Agreement was a policy of appeasement towards the British and French. He signed the agreement knowing that he had no intention of abiding by it and that he would leave the rest of the allies looking ignorant to the world and even worse, to their own citizens. The appeasement was a failure and all it accomplished was leading the allies to believe that Hitler could be trusted. The events leading up to the Munich Agreement and the document itself fueled the fire for World War II and only intensified Hitler s need for power. According to the Encyclopedia Britannica (2015) the Munich Agreement, (September 30, 1938), [is the] settlement reached by Germany, Great Britain, France, and Italy that permitted German annexation of the Sudetenland in western Czechoslovakia. The Czechoslovakian s were not allowed to take part in the conference, even though the fate of their country was at stake. The goal of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. Lord Of The Flies Critical Lens Analysis Being Consumed by Fear Leads to Regrettable Decisions When people are little kids, it is easy for them to feed into their fears and become dependent on adults for comfort. As adults, people usually conceal their fears and try to keep a clear mindset so unnecessary issues do not occur. In Stephen King s adaptation The Mist and William Golding s novel The Lord of The Flies, adults and children are pulled into their fears and eventually feed into them. In The Lord of The Flies, a plane full of British boys crashes on a deserted island with no adults in sight. The boys slowly turn on each other and, due to a mysterious beast, they are consumed by fear and behave irrationally. In The Mist, a fog rolls through town with unknown creatures lurking inside and people are terrified. The town s citizens are trapped inside a grocery store, and when they want to go out, death has it s doors open and waiting. Slowly, the people inside start to lose human decency toward each other and chaos breaks out. In both of these stories, people are controlled by fear, have no concept of law and order, and turn a blind eye to logic. When people feel safe and confident, they have a level mind set. In the beginning of The Lord of The Flies, a little boy with a mulberry birth mark tells the boys leader Ralph that he saw a beastie. At first, everyone keeps their eyes open for a frightening snake. Overtime, the beastie turns into something even more revolting and the boys are terrified. They believe it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The term Mormon fundamentalist refers to a religious group, sect, or individual who believes the teachings of the Mormon scriptures, and follows the teachings of early Mormon leaders. In Western New York in 1830, Joseph Smith Jr. organized the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, or LDS Church. Other early leaders of the church include Brigham Young and John Taylor, who along with Joseph Smith Jr., are accepted by Mormon fundamentalists as prophets of God. There are an estimated 38,000 Mormon fundamentalists living in North American territories, though the estimate is only based on the number of people who openly distinguish themselves as such. The majority of reported Mormon fundamentalists are located in the western states of Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and Idaho. One of the most significant principles of this religion is plural marriage, which Mormon fundamentalists refer to as the Divine Principle. The founder of Mormonism, Joseph Smith Jr., claims to have received direction from God to live a polygamist lifestyle. According to Smith, a man had to have a minimum of three wives to be able to reach the highest level of heaven. Members of the LDS Church practiced polygamy in relatively small numbers of approximately 30 percent between 1852 and 1890. • 30. The Pros And Cons Of Contract Contracts Formed contracts usually consist exclusion or exemption clauses limiting the liability of party/parties for contractual breach. These clauses aim at excluding the legal responsibilities of the parties for particular types of injuries, losses/damages sustained by the other party. However, the courts had made distinction between exclusion and limitation clauses limiting the amount of compensation for contractual breaches. Traditionally, the courts do not assess the exclusion clauses on merit grounds, to avoid contradicting the general idea of freedom of contract . Hence the courts, in order to supervise and for better use of these clauses; developed common law rules addressing incorporation and construction. Regularity and consistency in dealings is crucial, evident in the cases of McCutcheon v MacBrayne; and Hollier v Rambler Motors; where exclusion clause could not be incorporated due to a non consistent course of conduct. In cases of onerous or unusual clauses, more efforts must be made to draw the attention of the party. Movies like Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Speak, Twilight, The Book Thief, How to Train Your Dragon, and many more. All of these movies started as renowned books, that had won many awards. However when they are made into movies the audience loses some of the key factors that played into making the book so famous. When reading the books, the reader can get an idea of the feeling of characters. Readers know exactly what they are thinking, how they are feeling and what they are planning to do next. In earlier Shakespearian plays director attempted to keep this idea of know what the main character was feeling and thinking by adding in a monologue. But this monologue was broken away from the rest of the play. Actors would break character and speak directly to the audience of what they were thinking and wanted. This was later seen as distracting to the audience though, and it was removed in later production, and is why we do not see them in movies now. Books have a nicer flow to them and inside because readers will always know what the character is thinking, feeling, and going to do. Something that audiences do not get in the theaters, showing again that books have better understanding of quality. After the war, the Korean Peninsula was divided into two states along the 38th parallel. The Soviet union controlled the communist north while the United States controlled the nationalist and anti communist south. Soviet general Terentii Shtykov established the Provisional People s Committee for North Korea in 1946 and Kim Il sung became chairman. Shtykov broke North Korea s stratified class system, nationalized critical industries, and as a result many fled to the south. Later that year, South Korean citizens resisted the rule of the Allied Military Government and continued to resist despite violent opposition until they declared their statehood in May 1948. Shortly after this, The Democratic People s Republic of Korea was established, and Kim Il sung became the premier leader. Shtykov suspected President Syngman Rhee of South Korea was planning an attack on North Korea, and so with the help of Jospeh Stalin, North Korea launched an attack on South Korea on June 25th, 1950. This started the Korean War, which was essentially a proxy war between America and the Soviets. The United Nations force (led by the United States) assisted South Korea in the war.
