2. The small text used shows the day
published, price in UK and price is the
US. The placement of this text is the
same in every Empire issue making it
always easy to find. The size of the font
is mostly to avoid drawing the initial
attention of the reader. The main
objective of the publicist is to sell the
issue so the content is always made to
be the most noticeable feature as
opposed to the price which has the
potential of putting off the consumer.
The picture on the front cover is the
main focus and topic of the issue. It is
seen as the most important feature as
it is the main source of appeal for the
reader to purchase this particular
magazine. In this case it is the Joker
who is the antagonist of The Dark
Knight (which this particular issue is
most likely based around).
Theme of colours used throughout
relate to the main article and content in
the magazine. The Joker’s clothing
mostly consisting of green and purple as
well as the green hair matches the
comic book-esque font and text colour
used.
A list of what else is included in
the magazine such as reviews,
other featured movies and
news.
Barcode placement away from any
of the content to avoid it drawing
any attention away from the
content seen by the consumer.

3. Compared to Empire the front
cover is far busier and has far
more content. On one hand can
be considered far too much to
take in at first glance. On the other
hand it can be seen as showing
the consumer more details of the
magazines content.
The main advertised article of
this magazine does not focus on
just one film like Empire with
The Dark Knight but multiple
films that fit the category of
‘hero’ movies. By including
multiple films on the front cover
with not only their names but
pictures allows the magazine to
be able to appeal to a wider
audience.

keeps it from drawing any
attention away from the main
features of the cover meant to
draw the readers attention.
“WHY 2015 WILL ROCK!” Not
only keeping up with current
news but also reporting on and
looking ahead to future events in
the industry. Gives the reader the
impression that this magazine is
giving the reader more
information than they could find
in any other competing movie
magazine.
