Essay On Federal Budget
The government needs to take more caution creating the federal budget. Edwards stated that
Consider Canada s experience. In the mid 1990s, the federal government faced a debt crisis
caused by overspending, which is similar to America s current situation. But the Canadian
government reversed course and slashed spending from 23 percent of GDP in 1993, to 17 percent
by 2000, to just 15 percent today. The Canadian economy did not sink into a recession from the
cuts as Keynesians would have expected but instead grew strongly during the 1990s and 2000s.
Since the early 1950 s Americans have had trouble controlling overspending. The United States
government has engaged in deficit spending. This occurs when spending exceeds the amount of

Growing spending and debt are undermining economic growth and may push the nation into a
financial crisis in coming years. Edward then stated that the solution to these problems is to
downsize every federal department by cutting the most harmful programs. This study proposes
specific cuts that would reduce federal spending by almost one quarter and balance the budget in
less than a decade.
In my opinion, I think he is right. If we reduce spending on Medicare, Medicaid, and social security
and look into the defense expenses and reduced some of the spendings in some of the programs
such as unnecessary equipment, submarines from the total spending of 4.4 trillion. These are the
programs that make up the largest percentage compared to the other programs such as education,
international aid, and foreign aid when the government cuts some of the programs mentioned
above, it will help balance the budget.
Cutting down individual taxes will generate more employment and will help generate more money,
it will create more tax revenue, according to Mike DeBones, from House Passes 2018 Budget,
Taking a Crucial Step toward Tax Overhaul. He states that Our budget specifically paves the way
for pro growth tax reform that will reduce taxes for middle class Americans and free up American
businesses to grow and hire, House Budget Committee Chairman Diane Black (R Tenn.) said
during floor debate Wednesday. I agree if the tax is

Costa Cruise Crisis Essay
Carnival Corporation PLC is the largest passenger cruise ship company owning over one
hundred vessels across the globe. Costa Cruise is one of ten cruise line brands owned by
Carnival Corporation PLC. Costa Cruise operates out of Genoa Italy and operates the vessel
named the Concordia. On January 13, 2012 at 10:00 pm the Costa Concordia cruise ship began
to sink after hitting a rock off the west coast of Italy. The ship was only hours into its trip when
its Captain Federico Schettino took the vessel off course to sail close to a small Italian island
named Giglio. According to Squires (2014), Schettino wanted to salute a retired naval officer and
his head waiters family on the island, and to provide a spectacle to passengers. By the time... Show

It lets others control the story and suggests the organization has yet to gain control of the
situation (p. 4). On January 19, 2012, Carnival posted on Facebook saying Hi, everyone. Out of
respect for all those affected by the recent events surrounding our sister line, Costa cruises, we
are going to take a bit of a break from posting on our social channels. We will still be actively
listening and answering any questions you have about your past or upcoming cruises, but for
now, the majority of our time will be spent focusing on all those affected by this event. We thank
you again for all your support (Facebook, 2012, para. 1). On January 23, 2012, four days after
ceasing from updating social channels Carnival corporation suffered false accusations in articles
published in the New York Post, The Daily News, and the Huffington Post regarding the
compensation plan for victims on the Concordia. In The Huffington Post, Dolan (2012), claimed
that a memo sent from Costa Cruise to travel agents offered thirty percent discount on future
cruises and was valid for eighteen months. Kennedy (2012), also said that a spokesperson from
Costa Cruise told the New York Daily that a thirty percent discount was offered to victims who
were willing to stay loyal to the company. In the New York Post, Bennett (2012) said,

How Does The Greater London Area Develop
The greater London area covers an area of approximately 1620 square KM. Technically speaking
the London area is divided into cities: Westminster and the city of London itself. The greater
London metropolitan area is home to approximately 12 million people. London is a highly
multicultural city, with 50 nationalities, and more than 300 languages are spoken. The site of
Londonitself was settled more than 2000 years ago by the Romans when they founded the cityof
londinium , however the Romans left this land abandoned around 410 A.D. London is one of the
world greatest centre of consumption, luxury, leisure, art, museums and sport.

The flow of capital, information, goods and services, and people are among the more readily
measured indicators of such links between large cities. Generally, there has been a net transfer of
funds from the worlds developed economies to countries in the developed world. The decision
makers directing these flows are typically located in world cities, such as London, while these on
whom the decision impacts are often found in the old industrial centres of the developed world,
where the cash is being redirected form. This also has a major effect on those in the developing
world, which is the areas to which capital is being directed. This resulted in factory closures and
high unemployment in the old manufacturing centres of the developed world and factory
openings and job creation in the low cost economies of the developing world. There have been
many attempts to compute the linkages between global cites such as London, one such attempt
focuses on the concept connectivity. This is essentially a measure of the flows of information,
knowledge, and direction between the international office networks of global services, these
being the most basic agents of the formation of the world city network. Based on these criteria
London s strongest links are with North American cities such as New York, Washington DC and
Chicago, as well as some Asian cities such as Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo. The global
hierarchy of cities is essentially a functional hierarchy ranging from 12 cities down to national
regional and local scales, with London generally considered at the centre of the hierarchy, being the
largest contributor to the global

Conch Shell In Lord Of The Flies
In the novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding, a plane crashes on an island and a group of
children are stranded. The Lord of the Flies has many symbolic elements in the essay beginning
from the title to the end of the novel. There were two elements that stood out to me; I want to
examine the Conch Shell and the Signal Fire to show how the significance in the novel. The boys
use the conch shell to indicate who has speaking rights at the moment. One boy says what is on
his mind while holding the shell and others request it to comment on what was said. The quote I
got the conch (180) shows the conch being a symbol of power and being able to give that power
to who holds the conch. By having this structure show the boys keeping a sense... Show more

By keeping the fire going they hope to get the attention of people passing who will rescue them.
Because it is linked so closely with the boys return it becomes a connection to civilisation. For
example, the quote The fire is the most important thing on the island. How can we ever be
rescued except by luck, if we don t keep a fire going? Is a fire too much for us to make? Look at us!
How many are we? And yet we can t keep a fire going to make smoke. Don t you understand? Can
t you see we ought to ought to die before we let the fire out? (Pg 80 81) is an example of how
important the signal fire was. In order to stay connected to civilization, the group of boys had to
keep the fire going because it was their only hope for survival. In the early parts of the novel the
boys want to maintain the fire and keep it going which shows the boys want to be able to go
home to order and civilization. However, when the fire is allowed to go out this shows the boys
becoming savages. It is ironic that at the end of the novel a fire does attract a ship, but it is not
the signal fire it is the fire that Jack and his group use to kill Ralph. When the boys let the fire go
out they become savages which shows the signal fire being a form of civilization. When the fire
dies out so does any sense of

State Farm Adverts
Advertisements There are millions of different types of advertisements that we can view from
anywhere in the world from our electronic devices to a newspaper on a stand. Advertisements are
being sent out in any way that the companies can make us want to buy their products. The thing
that we do not always see with these advertisements is their subtle hints that make you wantto buy
their products without you even realizing that you want to. One such company that does this is
State Farm. They do this through the jingle , age of the actors, special moments in scene, or
anything along the lines that State Farm is trying to capture your attention to sell you their
products. To express this I will utilize three commercial videos from the company,... Show more

It starts out with a person saying that he is never going to get married then buys a ring. The
couple then says, that we are never having kids, but the two ends up having a kid. The mother
says they are never moving to the suburbs and does so. As the husband is cleaning crayon off the
wall, he eludes to the fact that he never wants to have another kid, but the wife states she is
pregnant. Finally, the commercial ends with the husband saying he is never letting go. The whole
commercial is promoting how State Farm will be there for all your Nevers in life. This would also
show that they would protect a growing family. This gives State Farm customers a reassurance that
they can count on the agents to be ready for whatever little mishaps might occur in our day to day
lives.
There is no prominent distinction of State Farm colors red and white, but in the subtle details of
the clothing and baby chair, these colors are demonstrated. This helps show that State Farm is
family ordinated. They are not only looking out for the parents, but also looking out for the
children. Instead of having a jingle, the commercial uses the many phrases of never among the
adults. All the way up to the end, the Nevers are negative, but the very last never is the dad
explaining that he will not let go of what has become of his

The Wells Creek Impact Structure
The Wells Creek Impact Structure: Impact Melts produces shock metamorphism in the target rock.
Michael A. Burklow
Department of Geology, University of Tennessee at Martin, Martin, Tennessee 38237, USA
Abstract
The Wells Creek structure was formed by a meteorite impact in Cumberland, Tennessee
(36В°гЂ–23гЂ—^ N,87В°40 W) which is the northern part of Middle Tennessee. This region is
known as the highland rim. The younger and older strata is exposed in two areas in the highland
rim which means the older sediment has been eroded and much of the younger sediment remains.
The impact produced a variety of structural features. The circular central block contains a circular
core of megabreccia about 1520 meters (Ford, 2012). The impacted breccia is monomitic breccia,
which is the result of rock deformation from the impact event. The breccia from Wells Creek is
homogenous breccia that has been under intense movement and very high confining pressures.
The angular Horst is an upthrown block between the two fault blocks and the inner Graben is a
downthrown block near the central block (Ford, 2012). The larger impact structure is an anticline
which is boarded by a second ring Syncline of the wells creek basin structure (Ford, 2012). The
shock wave releases are large amounts of energy from the central point of impact moving outward
forming ring anticlines and synclines. The impacted breccia matrix consists of angular fragmented
chert, limestone, and dolomite. The wells creek

Causes Of The League Of Nations Mandate
League of Nations Mandate
In 1919, the victorious allied powers established the league of nations, after defeating the
German, Austrian and Turkish empires in the First World War. The league s main goal was to
promote international cooperation and to achieve peace and security. Mandates spread over the
world were divided into categories, based on their political and economical development groups
A, B, and C. Former German territories in the pacific became class C mandates, as they were
considered the least developed and therefore best administered under the laws of the mandatory as
integral portions of its territory . The League awarded the Class C mandate of Western Samoato
New Zealand in 1920.
Mau Movement (Black Saturday) Causes/Event

this, officials felt a duty or favor towards Samoa in order to modernise the Samoan society by
developing the health, economic, and education systems throughout the Island, without full
understanding of the people or their culture. Because of this attitude held by New Zealanders,
Samoa began to hold great resentment towards the New Zealand ruling of Samoa. (Quote by one
of the administrators at the time: They were a splendid but backward Native race, with no thought
of tomorrow, and no vision as to the future of these islands ) One of the most passionate

Essay on The Chemistry behind our Television Sets
Chemistry has had a colossal impact on the advancement of technology throughout the world. Every
electronic item can acknowledge chemistry for its creation. A main example that everyone knows
of would be the television. Without chemistry, there would be no technology; and without
technology, we would not be where we are today. Before televisionwas invented people tried to
find different ways to entertain themselves. One bizarre thing people used the do was to attend
surgeries for entertainment. They found surgery to be very interesting and thrilling so they
watched for their entertainment, almost like a TV show but in real life. Before television was

The newer models of televisions contain plasma in their screens. Plasma screens are made up of
groups of cells called pixels. These pixels are composed of three sub pixels that consist of three
different colors; green, red, and blue. This technology uses a plasma etching system which is a
type of plasma processing mainly used in fabricating integrated circuits. The process involves
shooting a gas mixture of glow discharge or plasma towards a sample at very high speeds. (The
Canadian News). The plasma, in gas state, reacts with phosphors in the television panel s sub
pixels to create colored light in green, red, or blue. A phosphor is a synthetic fluorescent or
phosphorescent substance. The phosphors used are comparable to the ones used in traditional
Cathode Ray Tube televisions and computer monitors. Cathode Ray tubes are a high vacuum tube
in which cathode rays produce a luminous image on a fluorescent screen. With plasma technology,
televisions are now able to display richer, more dynamic, and more realistic colors than the CRT
televisions (The Canadian News). Technology is affecting society in various ways today. The
television has an impact on the behavior of adolescents that many would consider negative. For
example, violence in media can cause youth violence. According to Brandon S. Centerwall, If,
hypothetically, television technology had never been developed, there would be 10,000 fewer
homicides each year in the

Richard III Research Paper
The Tragedy of Richard III by William Shakespeare depicts Richard III as a horrible, manipulative,
and power hungry monarch; not so much when he is a monarch, but in the events leading up to his
reign. Whether this interpretation of Richard is accurate will be determined through evidence that
either supports or denies Shakespeare s version of the events. Not mentioned in The Tragedy of
Richard IIIare all of the accomplishments that Richard succeeded in during his reign, considering
that he spent much of his time as king defending his throne. In December of 1483, Richard
established the Court of Requests. The Court of Requests was a place where poor people who did

Where blame is concerned, many of the sources, from the time Shakespeare was writing The
Tragedy of Richard III, that were reporting on Richard, had a consistent anti Ricardian bias. They
could have gathered the information and interviewed the necessary people to gain a more
favorable view of Richard, but they didn t. In the process, they overlooked lots of propaganda and
postdated rewriting of history (Hicks). Shakespeare wrote Richard as a Vice characterbecause there
was really no other opposing viewpoint. In addition, when Shakespeare wrote The Tragedy of
Richard III, Queen Elizabeth I was the current ruler of England. Queen Elizabeth I was a
descendant of King Henry VIII, referred to in Shakespeare s play as Richmond, who is the man
that overthrew Richard, and killed him on Bosworth Field. The official party line of the
Elizabethan era was that Richard was a monster who was not a legitimate ruler of England.

Gothic Criticism In Northanger Abbey, By Jane Austen
Jane Austen is the first great woman writer in English and, arguably, England s first great
novelist. She is one of those literary artists, who not only laid the foundation of novel, but also
give it to a new direction. A supremely comic writer and moralist, Austen redefines novel as a
delicate instrument to reveal human nature. She is one of the few novelists in the world literature
who is regarded as a classic and yet is widely read. She wrote six major novels, however, only four
novels were published during her life time that established her reputation in literary circle
anonymously. Her earliest novel Northanger Abbeyand last completed novel Persuasion were the

As Catherine; a young woman s mind can be easily influenced by such things. Her near
obsession reflects that of the society of her time. Through using Gothic themes and motifs,
Austen creates an effective atmosphere but rather than creating a horrific and mysterious story
from them, she clearly depicts the effects the genre had on young women during their time of
writing. She shows the societal opinion of the Gothic, her own opinion of Gothic novelists, and
how the genre can influence one s imagination. For Catherine, Northanger Abbey symbolizes an
imagined ideal. As soon as she enters the abbey, she begins to think of herself as the heroine of a
Gothic novel. Unlike Bath, which is simply a pleasant tourist town, the Abbey is a place of
mystery and perhaps even adventure, at least in Catherine s mind. She makes the mistake of
applying Gothic novels to real life situations; for example, later in the novel she begins to suspect
General Tilney of having murdered his deceased wife. When the Abbey turns out to be
disappointingly normal, Catherine uses her memory of the abbeys from her novel reading to make
it more frightening. She soon learns that the world is not all melodrama and eventually matures and
marries a very sensible

The First Theories Of Deism In Christianity
The terms deism and theism were used interchangeably. The custom has been to use the words in a
mutually exclusive sense. A number of quite divergent theological and philosophical positions are
now indicated by the term deism. They resemble one another in that all reject one or more of the
traditional Christian theses concerning the relationship that exits between Godand universe. Deismis
a theological position which accepted the supreme being as the source of finite existence, but
denied the supernatural element in Christianity, as well as rejecting Christian revelation as the
only way to salvation. Many different theories of deism that ruled the world. The first theory of
deism is God created this universe, that all things in the universe, are directed by divine
providence; and that there is a life after death in which God will reward the good and punish the
evil (Carson). Divine revelation is rejected, and it is maintained that man must depend upon his
reason alone to give him some knowledge of the existence and nature of God and of man s moral
duties. The second theory of deism is the man is either rewarded or punished in his life; there is no
future life (Carson). It asserts that whatever happiness or sorrow man experience before his final
annihilation in death has... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The strongest element contributing to the development of deistic thought was the rise of many new
scientists discoveries (Carson). Discoveries made it imperative for Europeans to change their basic
idea of the universe. One contribution to the development of deism was many written accounts of
travels to unknown lands (Carson). Explorers and travelers had come upon people who had no
contact with Christianity, but who seemed nonetheless to have highly developed systems of
morality and admirable religious principles. The deists argued from this that human reason was
sufficient to establish religion and

Type 2 Diabetes And Glucose Level
Type 2 diabetes is a physiological, long term disease which affects how the human body controls its
glucose level. Type 2 diabetes is caused when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin. Insulin
is a naturally occurring internal secretion which the pancreas produces and releases when food is
consumed. The body becomes resistant to insulinwhen a person has type 2 diabetes; this powers the
pancreas to work harder to shuffle more insulin. Over time this can harm cells in the pancreas,
eventually preventing it from producing insulin. If enough insulin is not produced or if the body
does not use it efficiently, glucose builds up in the bloodstream, causing the body s cells to starve
for energy. Some of the symptoms of type 2 diabetes are constant hunger, fatigue, weight loss,
excessive thirst, frequent urination, dry mouth, itchy skin and blurry... Show more content on

Peace-Weaver In Beowulf
Based on the story, Beowulf by Heaney, the poet had described three types of the women role in
literature are peace weavers, hostess, and monster. First, the female role of the peace weaver in
the epic poem literature is meant to describe the woman who has married off to someone and
brings a peace to her household and the nation. Queen Wealtheow is a wife of King Hrothgar
who was an example of success among the peace weavers. She plays an active role in the society
through words of encouragement to her people to make them hand out the treasure for her heroes.
(Murphy) Therefore, the roles of Queen Wealtheow make her become a peace weaver within both
social and political realms of her life. Even she is a wife, that married to the Frisian king.... Show

Second, the female role of hostess deciphers the relationships in society and also exposes the
prejudices in the poem (Murphy). The poet has mentioned the women s role in this poem through
Queen Wealtheow s character in the mead cup. As a queen, Wealtheow is the most powerful
women, and she also is the most important women in the kingdom. As a queen, Wealtheow is fully
depicted in the Beowulf and the poet has analyzed specifically to connect with her role in the
mead hall as an excellent heart and sure of the speech. According to the authors, The mead cup
was served in order to mark the allegiance of each man in his turn to the king, whose mead hall
they occupied (Edgington). This statement shows how the hostess role of the Queen Wealtheow
was very important. She does all the duties to carry the mead cup in the hall and go around to
offer the drink to the King and the warriors before she greets Beowulf. Besides that, the queen
plays to her role as a woman speaking to all the men in the hall and reminding them with their
families, their king, country, and their obligations in life during the Anglo Saxon

Inhumanity In Tuesdays With Morrie And Night
There is only one way in which one can endure man s inhumanity to man and that is to try, in one
s own life, to exemplify man s humanity to man Alan Paton. Neither of the characters in Tuesdays
with Morrie by Mitch Albom, and Night by Elie Wiesel, had a choice about the inhumanity they
faced. One was cursed with a fatal disease and the other was put in a deathcamp. Even though both
of the main characters, Morrie and Elie, experienced copious amounts of inhumanity, they both
found it in them to be humane. Both Tuesdays with Morrie and Night deal with cases of
inhumanity and get through it by being humane to others.

Elie is in a concentration camp that forces him to face inhumanity everyday. Elie and the others
in the camp never knew when they were going to face death, like Morrie. From day one Elie was

cattle car. He was then given a number and stripped from his identity. The Nazis continually
called him worthless and a pig. Elie questioned how anyone could be humane in a situation like
this and said, Humanity? Humanity is not concerned with us. Today anything is allowed.
Anything is possible, even these crematories (30), but despite all of the trauma and inhumanity
Elie faced on a daily basis, he was humane to his father. Elie did everything in his power to stay
alive for his father, similiar in a way to Mitch in Tuesdays with Morrie. Elie showed humanity to
his father. In the beginning when they had to march everywhere, Shlomo, Elie s father, struggled
with it. Like Morrie, Elie taught Shlomo how to march and to not get in trouble. Elie wanted the

though Elie himself was starving. Elie did not give in to the inhumanity that was brought upon him.

Research Critique of New Graduates Perceptions of Clinical Practice
The article involved in this research critique focuses on the stresses and challenges experienced by
graduate nurses in clinical practice during their initial orientation period and examines the
relationship of social support to these stresses (Oermann, 1997). The critiquing of this article will
address the purpose of the article, the design of the research, the presentation of the findings in the
study and the significance of this research to the nursing profession. Also, the researcher s
approach to the study and the potential benefits of this study to nursing will be focused on as well.

Since the focus is on the volunteers experiences in the new clinical setting, it is essential to have
significant information on them. The researcher was very thorough in reporting the types of
instruments used in the study, which include a demographic data sheet, a social support
instrument, and a modified Pagana Clinical Stress Questionnaire. Each of the three instruments
are well defined and described. It is evident that the researcher has tested each instrument and is
familiar with it. Also the researcher describes how the instruments were distributed to the
volunteers via a contact person at each hospital, which gives the reader a better picture of how
the study was carried out. The results presented are readily understood and are applied to the
research question. The data is applied and interpreted in accordance with the scales and
instruments used. Types of stresses are listed according to ranking order of severity and other
stresses are listed as well. This allows readers to get an idea of what stresses are affecting the
subjects and also to what degree they are affected by these stresses. A chart is included that depicts
the positive and negative emotions the subjects experienced in orientation along with the mean
score and standard deviation. This chart clearly outlines the data for readers and is very simple to
understand. The best aspect of the researcher s presentation of the findings is the fact that each

J. M Barries Peter Pan Chapter Summaries
J.M Barries Peter Pan is a childrens book. This book is about a group of young boys who live on
the island of Neverland. The boys never want to grow up. When they find Wendy and take her to
Neverland Peter and the lost boys ask her to be their mother. After Wendy stays awhile and acts
like a mother, the lost boys realize they have some growing up to do. Even though it s not what
they want to do. This is why i think motherhood is very important especially in this story. The
main setting in this story is in Ms. Darling nursery. In the nursery at the beginning and end of the
story is where I believe the importance of motherhood is shown. This is because Wendy and her
little brothers are cared for here. They are treated and raised with respect. This is where Wendy
learns how to nurture and care,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She tells them about how they need to grow up and go home to their mothers. You can tell Wendy
loves and respects her mother by the way she talks up the mothers of the lost boys to get them to go
home. Wendy had even promised to return to Neverland and still act like some of the lost boys
mother. Wendys mother in the book is a very fine lady. Ms. Darling takes great care of her
children. She even gave them her wedding dress and made her children bed sheets out of them. She
thinks her children are sweet and always loves spending time with them. Wendy has a special
relationship with Peter Pan. Tinkerbell is very jealous of it. She throws fits and pulls Wendys hair.
She yells in a language that only Peter can understand saying rude things about wendy. Tink feels
it is a romantic relationship when the rest of us see it a mother and son type relationship. When
Wendy arrives in neverland her motherhood trait gos with her. She builds the boys a house. She
makes them pretend dinner. Wendy would tell Peter stories and all the boys. She would just take
complete care and would be okay with them wanting to still be

Witness For The Prosecution Essay
This 1957 courtroom production Witness for the Prosecution based on a short story and later a
play by Agatha Christie involves the seasoned barrister and curmudgeon Sir Wilfred Robarte,
played by Charles Laughton. He takes on the murder defense of Leonard Vole played by Tyrone
Power. Robarts private nurse played by Elsa Lancaster objects constantly, reminding him of his
doctor s advice to stay away from criminal cases due to his ill health. Vole is accused of the
murder of a wealthy older woman Mrs. French played by Norma Varden who appeared to have
fallen in love with Vole and changed her will to give him the bulk of her estate. The evidence
strongly points to Vole s involvement. Vole claims his defense is based on the fact that his wife,
Christine played by Marlene Dietrich, will testify that Vole arrived home the evening of the murder
long before it transpired. Robarts counsels Vole that the testimony of his wife... Show more content

marriage to Vole was fraudulent, since she was already married when she met Vole and her first

Relations Between India and Pakistan
Often synonymous with open hostility, relations between India and Pakistan are influenced by
numerous discordant factors. This essay will examine the primary antecedent, the Partition of India
and its bifurcation into two states. In emphasising the collective trauma and fragile nationalisms
that emerged, a connection will be established between the ensuing fear and distrust and its
manifestation into policies and actions over the past six decades. Its ramifications will be
considered in relation to each state s security and regional ambitions, the Kashmirdispute and their
acquiring of nuclear technology. Particular focus will be given to the Kargil conflict in determining
if continued vexed relations could lead to nuclear war.

Fears of external interference into domestic affairs, particularly the hidden hand of Pakistan, are
prominent. India s ire was aroused with confirmation of Lashkar e Taiba involvement in the 2008
Mumbai attack (Rath 2010, 16) and India has responded to the Naxalite threat in existential terms
(Tharu 2007, 96). Thence, to ameliorate its perceived insecurity, India has attempted to grasp the
position of regional hegemon (Rais 1991, 379), but has done so unsuccessfully and in the fact of
strong opposition.
Whilst India adopts a pan Asian strategy, Pakistan has singularly defined its national security
agenda in terms of protecting Muslims from a menacing India (Riedel 2008, 41). The resulting
physical and ideological fortress (Cohen 2006, 61) has endowed Pakistan with a progressively rigid
and myopic outlook. Depictions of a united Islamic community are fallacious, with Pakistan s
greatest threat being state disintegration. Almost every ethnicity, with the exception of Punjabi s,
has or had an ethno nationalist movement (Mushtaq 2009, 281). The 1971 loss of East Pakistan,
achieved partly with Indian assistance, starkly revealed not only the threat of balkanisation but also
its congruence with Indian interests. Ominously, Pakistan is now confronted with an exponentially
stronger India containing a larger number of Muslims than Pakistan itself (de Riencourt 1983, 420).

Earned Tax Credit Policy Analysis
For a start, as my policy analysis term paper, I subjectively selected the Earned Income Tax
Credit (EITC), based on my personal experience with the policy and from curiosity as how the
mechanisms of the policy truly operate. With that being said, the United States federal Earned
Income Tax Credit or Earned Income Credit (EITC or EIC) is a refundable taxcredit for low to
moderate income individuals and couples particularly those with children (IRS, 2013). In this
paper, I will first introduce the Earned Income TaxCredit policy followed by the description of the
problems/social inequalities that necessitated the policy. Next, I will then describe the policy in

This is a very strong type of intermolecular force, which results in a high boiling point and a lot of
surface tension. Hв‚‚O has the second highest amount of substance on the penny because Hв‚‚O
consists of hydrogen bonds, which are very strong but not as strong as ion dipole bonds. This is
why Hв‚‚O had a lot of surface tension, but slightly less than NaCl. Ethanol had the third most
amount of substance on the penny, and this is because ethanol also has hydrogen bonds like
Hв‚‚O, but because ethanol is a a bigger molecule there are less bonds, and therefore less surface
tension. Soapy water had the least amount of substance on the penny, and this is because soap
molecules have hydrophobic ends, so when they are mixed with water molecules, they break the
surface tension created by the strong hydrogen bonds. The impact of the intermolecular forces:
hydrogen bonds, London Dispersion Forces, dipole dipole attraction, and ion dipole attraction were
investigated in this lab, and it was determined that ion dipole attraction results in the greatest
amount of surface tension, followed by hydrogen bonds, dipole dipole attractions, and London

In the US, UK and much of northern Europe, strong, direct eye contact conveys confidence and

In much of Europe and North America, business is contractual in nature. Personal relationships are

Since Napoleon s decision showed no respect but metamorphic confidence, the Spanish fought
him off. Napoleon s optimism predicted Napoleon s failure as well. In 1814, Napoleon defeated
the Anti French troop at Brenner city; he thought he would win again. He separated his troops in
order to attack his enemies, but he did not realize that he left the way to Paris unimpeded for his
enemies. It led Napoleon to the loss of the wars against the sixth Anti French Coalition.
Moreover, Napoleon s bravery made him succeed in his wars, but it also made him ignore his

he lost his army s power, soldiers and morale. After losing those important foundations, he was

made his empire collapse quickly. For example, in 1812, Napoleon s ambition extended to

A Hovercraft Is An Air Vehicle
INTRODUCTION
A hovercraft is an air vehicle, or ACV, is a craft capable of travelling over Land, water, on the ice ,
soil or other surfaces, both travel Speed and stop.
Transporting vehicle also called a hovercraft, that rides slightly above the Earth s surface on a
cushion of air. The air is continuously forced under the vehicle by a fan which generates the cushion
that greatly reduces friction between the moving vehicle and the surface.
The air is usually delivered through ducts and injected at Periphery of the vehicle in a downward ,
inward direction. This has been due to various reasons. The inability to control and maneuver
minute maintenance and noise levels are relatively high compared with the car hard enough to
overcome to keep the car and the air cushion in the margins of modern transportation. It also came
along more than fifty years after the accepted standard cars as a means of transport in many guises,

The Human Life Cycles
The human life cycle is something that we all must face. We start off being born and move
through old age and death. There are four distinct stages childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and
old age. There are many biological changes that occur during the life cycle as well as the many
social impacts that occur, such as industrialization. As we move through these complicated life
cycles we find that each stage in life is both biological as well as a social construct. The society we
live in determines how we will approach each life cycle and how it will shape who we will become.
Childhood is one of the first biological life cycles we encounter. The experience that we go
through shape what we will become. Here in America, as we began to industrialize, we began to
have a different view of what childhood should be than in other parts of the world. In Taiwan
and in Indonesia athletic shoes are made by children who work in factories instead of going to
school. About 215 million of the world s children work typical long hours for low wages. People
in America might find this disturbing because we think of childhood as the first 12 years of life a
carefree time of learning and play. But according to historian Philippe Aries (1965) explains, the
whole idea of childhood is fairly new. During the middle ages, children of 4 and 5 were treated like
adults and expected to fend for themselves. We in America defend childhood because we feel
children are biologically immature, but as we look at

Explain The Five Key Points Made By The Speaker
1)What are 5 key points made by the speaker? Write a short paragraph for each one The first key
point that the author made is that there is a lot of people in the world that are non informed
about what was going on in the world. He says that people tends to think that things are
becoming worst or didn t change which is not true. He said that there is a need to communicate
because the data of what happening in the world is well aware. He compares the life expectancy
and fertility rate of many countries since 1960. He found out that they is a lot of countries that
have improved in term of life expectancy. As example China and India has improved and are
moving toward better health care and small families like develop countries. He also compared
the income distribution in the world and found out that there wasn t a gap between rich and poor
anymore and that there were a lot of countries that were in the middle and had 24% of the
income. Looking at the graph, the actual distribution was mounded shaped while it used to be a
bump. He shows that it is dangerous to use average data because there is a lot of differences
between countries and that policy makers have to take that into consideration while designing the
laws for one region. He thinks that data should be used more often and that organization should be
will willing to release these information s and make it available to the rest of the world. 2)Read the

Battle Of Troy Essay
The Battle of Troy was historic battle that changed the way we safeguard our military bases and
equipment. Many lessons were learned from the events leading to the fall of the Trojan army.
The Trojan War between the Greeks and Trojans took place in the city of Troy during the Bronze
Era. This was the first successful deception event conducted by an army and led the Greeks to
seize and destroy the city of Troy. The elaborate plan consisted of concealing Greek soldiers

It was battle that was part of a ten year war between the Greek and the Trojan Army. According to
Homer s Iliad, the battle lasted 53 days in the final year of a ten year conflict. The war was a
result of a personal feud between the Trojan prince Paris, also known as Alexandros and
Menealaos, King of Sparta and brother of Agamenon. The Greeks and Menealaos wanted to
reclaim Helen, wife of Menealaos, as Alexandro had kidnaped her as a prize for choosing
Aphrodite as the most beautiful goddess in a beauty competition. (Cartwright, 2013) In this
battle an enormous wooden Trojan horse was left behind as an offering to the Trojans, however
it had Greek soldiers hiding inside. The Trojans were surprised by the offering and never saw the
deception plan unraveling. The wooden horse was brought into the city of Troy opening the
fortified gates of Troy to the Greeks, which they had been unable to penetrate. This allowed the
Greek soldiers to invade Troy and eventually burn and destroy the city and end the war. This was
the first recorded deception technique used by an Army. During this era the use of intelligence
tactics was not developed yet. The use of Human and Counter Intelligence to gather information
about the possible use of this deception technique would have made a remarkable difference on
how the war could have ended. The Trojan Army could have also implemented security measures in
order to investigate any items entering their fortified City of

Imperialism In Kenya
Kenya is a nation in Africa that was created by the British. The effects of the colonial era are
prevalent as they have changed in many aspects. Kenya was apart of the British Commonwealth in
Africa. As missionaries and settlers came to Kenya after the Berlin Conference which divided
Africa into colonies without their consent, they became a British controlled colony. Britain already
had colonies in India, Canada, and Australia; but wanted the rich natural resources of Africa. The
occupation of Britain in Kenyaaffected the country in many aspects but still withheld tradition.
British colonialism affected the nation of Kenya in an upsurge in population, a corrupt restrictive
government, and a drastic change in culture and beliefs. Kenya... Show more content on

The native people were confused on the input of British government causing them to join the
British Commonwealth. The nation hadn t any say in the actions of the government because the
native people were not allowed in the government: This we know. But in spite of this, what I have
told you is a fact. You have now a king a good and great king who loves his people, and you are
among his people. In the town called Nairobi is a council or government that acts as a king. And
his laws are your laws (Document D). The force of the government grew so that the lower end of
the social ranking system couldn t fix their corrupt government. An unfixable government came up
with a solution. In 1923 when the Devonshire Declaration was made, it stated the native peoples
of Africa were the priority opinion over Europeans, native councils were created so that they could
voice could be in the parliamentary decisions (The Commonwealth, Kenya: History). The Kenyan
government took a turn into becoming an independent nation. The authority of the citizens grew
and held elections for a new president under the people of Kenya instead of the British. The
KANU political party had ended the colonial era: Jomo Kenyatta s party, the Kenyan African
National Union (KANU), won with the slogan Uhra na Kenyatta Independence with Kenyatta and
against the protests of colonialists, Kenyatta was released from jail. Jomo Kenyatta was elected
the president of an independent Kenya, and by 1963 the colonial era was over (Background
Essay). Jomo Kenyatta was the first president of Kenya since its independence. Finally becoming a
free country, the effects of the colonial era sunk into the

вћў FleetCor has not yet settle the final agreements with the seven Super Licensees for acquiring
them, creating some sources of unstable and going concern business ( Suggest: the company should
be more specific and aggressive while dealing with the licenses to make the final agreements.
вћў Higher gas prices result in a larger A/R financing cost and also lead to a higher bad debt
expense, even though the net revenue might still be the same ( Suggest: implement some forms of
hedging strategies against the increases in gas prices such as going long on a call option at a
specific gas price which might materially increase the A/R financing cost and bad debt expenses.

consultants and programmers to create a more effective managerial and financial system while
working along with a CFO who is a financial expert.

Examples Of Love At First Sight In Romeo And Juliet
Love at first sight does not exist. Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy that starts with love at first sight.
Shakespeare developed two ignorant, naГЇve, stubborn, narrow minded, teenaged characters that
ended up taking their own lives because they were led into temptation. A few examples of the
temptation in which they were led were when Romeo was persuaded to go to a party without an
invitation. That and they decided to get married without telling their parents the day after they met,
and Juliet was basically engaged to Paris with a wedding date mere weeks from the day they got
married. Amongst all these things, Romeo showed how impatient and hard headed he was when he
left Mantua, where he was told to wait for Juliet s letter, and went to her... Show more content on

This was where he met the beauty he didn t know as a Capulet, and she felt the same way, which
created the love at first sight. This created the fast paced relationship that was what got them
killed. Romeo and Juliet had to know this was going to happen, and not just because the priest
had said, Those who run quickly stumble, (Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet). His statement
means things take time. Romeo and Juliet proved their minds were narrow once more when
they got married after a day of knowing each other, without their parent s consent, and Juliet was
already to marry Paris weeks later. Instead Juliet married Romeo, a Montague, her family s rival
family. Juliet even said, My only love sprung from my only hate, (Shakespeare). If they would
have told someone they could have resolved the issue like adults but instead show how immature
and hard head they were. Another thing that proved they fell into something bad, and not into
love, was when Romeo was in Mantua, waiting as he was told, and decides to say, I defy you,
stars, (Shakespeare). He literally said he knew it wasn t supposed to happen and still did it. He
knew defying destiny that was in the stars wasn t something he should do, but still committed these
actions repeatedly throughout the

Female Surrealists Research Paper
Can you name five female Surrealists? How about two? Even students whom I have asked had
no idea just how many Surrealists, female or male, there have been. Could we name them in a
pop quiz? Personally, I would have to say no. After all my years as an artist and student, not even I
could have named five. I found two books in my college library on women Surrealists. According to
one of those books, In Wonderland, The Surrealist Adventures of Women Artists
in Mexico and the
United States, there were almost fifty femaleSurrealists significant enough to be noted for their
contributions (Fort, Foreword). If you are looking for a particular name of a female Surrealist on
the internet or in a book, it is not as easy as it should be to find information... Show more content on

The few women Surrealists who are associated with their spouses, such as Dorothea Tanning and
Frida Kahlo, are mentioned more frequently. It is noteworthy, however, that Frida Kahlo did not
consider herself a Surrealist, even though she was familiar and close friends with quite a few.
Kahlo said, They thought I was a Surrealist, but I wasn t. I never painted dreams. I painted my
own reality (Moffat, Web). As important as these women are to our history, there are far more who
have not been given sufficient attention. There are well over a hundred women associated with this
era. The three women Surrealists introduced in this paper are Kay Sage, Remedios Varo, and Lola
Alverez Bravo.
I selected these three women for their art, their stories, and the struggles that, in a small way,
resemble similar situations in my life. Sage, Varo, and Alverez Bravo have received little exposure
in mainstream art history; the information available on each woman is minimal, yet I felt a
connection to the three. I want to shed a light on these strong talented

Hamilton s rival Aaron Burr a U.S senator and future vice president founded the Bank of Manhattan
Co. Over the years starting in 1991 many big companies started to merge together creating giant
corporations. In 1991 Manufacturers Hanover Corp. merged with Chemical Banking Corp. From
then until 2000 many other companies were to merge and in 2000 J.P. Morgan Co. Incorporated
merged with The ChaseManhattan Corp combining four of the largest and oldest money center

Essay about Mystic Monk
Mystic Monk Coffee
Assignment Questions:
Q1. Has Father Daniel Mary established a future direction for the Carmelite Monks of Wyoming?
Yes, Father Daniel Mary has established a future direction for the Carmelite Monks of Wyoming.
He has expansionary plans for both the Carmelite Order and for Mystic Monk Coffee. The
expansionary plans for both are part of Father Daniel Mary s vision to transform the small
brotherhood of 13 Monks living in a modified former residence that is serving as the current
rectory for the monks into a 500 acre monastery for the Carmelite Monks of Wyoming.
What is his vision for the monastery?
His vision for the monastery included increasing the size capacity of the Monastery for 30 monks,
a convent for Nuns ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Father Daniel Mary does have a concise vision as to his expansionary goal for the
Wyoming Order of the Carmelite Monks quest to build a New Mt. Carmel I do not believe that
he has a definite performance target strategy for achieving his vision. The case study explicitly
stated that he was aware that his vision would require careful planning and execution, but there
was no mention of a detailed strategic business plan on as to how Father Daniel Mary would turn
his vision into a reality. Yes, he had sought to expand the operations of Mystic Monk Coffee
outside of the niche market of focus marketing to the Catholics by branching into online sales with
unique programs to increase sales, wholesales of the coffee and the sales of the product to both
local churches and coffee shops. However there were still limitations on the production of the
product; such as production schedules based on monastery worship practices, outside contracting in
the secular world for commissioned sales of their product, equipment processing limitations and no
indications of increased customer demand for the product from the information that was provided
in the case study.
Q3. What is Father Daniel Mary s strategy for achieving his vision?
The strategy that Father Mary is using to attain his vision of purchasing the Irma Lake ranch is
using the Mystic Monk Coffee revenues with

  • 2. Essay On Federal Budget The government needs to take more caution creating the federal budget. Edwards stated that Consider Canada s experience. In the mid 1990s, the federal government faced a debt crisis caused by overspending, which is similar to America s current situation. But the Canadian government reversed course and slashed spending from 23 percent of GDP in 1993, to 17 percent by 2000, to just 15 percent today. The Canadian economy did not sink into a recession from the cuts as Keynesians would have expected but instead grew strongly during the 1990s and 2000s. Since the early 1950 s Americans have had trouble controlling overspending. The United States government has engaged in deficit spending. This occurs when spending exceeds the amount of income ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Growing spending and debt are undermining economic growth and may push the nation into a financial crisis in coming years. Edward then stated that the solution to these problems is to downsize every federal department by cutting the most harmful programs. This study proposes specific cuts that would reduce federal spending by almost one quarter and balance the budget in less than a decade. In my opinion, I think he is right. If we reduce spending on Medicare, Medicaid, and social security and look into the defense expenses and reduced some of the spendings in some of the programs such as unnecessary equipment, submarines from the total spending of 4.4 trillion. These are the programs that make up the largest percentage compared to the other programs such as education, international aid, and foreign aid when the government cuts some of the programs mentioned above, it will help balance the budget. Cutting down individual taxes will generate more employment and will help generate more money, it will create more tax revenue, according to Mike DeBones, from House Passes 2018 Budget, Taking a Crucial Step toward Tax Overhaul. He states that Our budget specifically paves the way for pro growth tax reform that will reduce taxes for middle class Americans and free up American businesses to grow and hire, House Budget Committee Chairman Diane Black (R Tenn.) said during floor debate Wednesday. On January 13, 2012 at 10:00 pm the Costa Concordia cruise ship began to sink after hitting a rock off the west coast of Italy. The ship was only hours into its trip when its Captain Federico Schettino took the vessel off course to sail close to a small Italian island named Giglio. The flow of capital, information, goods and services, and people are among the more readily measured indicators of such links between large cities. Generally, there has been a net transfer of funds from the worlds developed economies to countries in the developed world. The decision makers directing these flows are typically located in world cities, such as London, while these on whom the decision impacts are often found in the old industrial centres of the developed world, where the cash is being redirected form. This also has a major effect on those in the developing world, which is the areas to which capital is being directed. This resulted in factory closures and high unemployment in the old manufacturing centres of the developed world and factory openings and job creation in the low cost economies of the developing world. There have been many attempts to compute the linkages between global cites such as London, one such attempt focuses on the concept connectivity. This is essentially a measure of the flows of information, knowledge, and direction between the international office networks of global services, these being the most basic agents of the formation of the world city network. Based on these criteria London s strongest links are with North American cities such as New York, Washington DC and Chicago, as well as some Asian cities such as Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo. The global hierarchy of cities is essentially a functional hierarchy ranging from 12 cities down to national regional and local scales, with London generally considered at the centre of the hierarchy, being the largest contributor to the global ... • 5. Conch Shell In Lord Of The Flies In the novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding, a plane crashes on an island and a group of children are stranded. The Lord of the Flies has many symbolic elements in the essay beginning from the title to the end of the novel. There were two elements that stood out to me; I want to examine the Conch Shell and the Signal Fire to show how the significance in the novel. The boys use the conch shell to indicate who has speaking rights at the moment. One boy says what is on his mind while holding the shell and others request it to comment on what was said. The quote I got the conch (180) shows the conch being a symbol of power and being able to give that power to who holds the conch. Because it is linked so closely with the boys return it becomes a connection to civilisation. For example, the quote The fire is the most important thing on the island. How can we ever be rescued except by luck, if we don t keep a fire going? Is a fire too much for us to make? Look at us! How many are we? And yet we can t keep a fire going to make smoke. Don t you understand? Can t you see we ought to ought to die before we let the fire out? (Pg 80 81) is an example of how important the signal fire was. In order to stay connected to civilization, the group of boys had to keep the fire going because it was their only hope for survival. In the early parts of the novel the boys want to maintain the fire and keep it going which shows the boys want to be able to go home to order and civilization. However, when the fire is allowed to go out this shows the boys becoming savages. It is ironic that at the end of the novel a fire does attract a ship, but it is not the signal fire it is the fire that Jack and his group use to kill Ralph. When the boys let the fire go out they become savages which shows the signal fire being a form of civilization. When the fire dies out so does any sense of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Advertisements are being sent out in any way that the companies can make us want to buy their products. The thing that we do not always see with these advertisements is their subtle hints that make you wantto buy their products without you even realizing that you want to. One such company that does this is State Farm. As the husband is cleaning crayon off the wall, he eludes to the fact that he never wants to have another kid, but the wife states she is pregnant. Finally, the commercial ends with the husband saying he is never letting go. The whole commercial is promoting how State Farm will be there for all your Nevers in life. This would also show that they would protect a growing family. This gives State Farm customers a reassurance that they can count on the agents to be ready for whatever little mishaps might occur in our day to day lives. There is no prominent distinction of State Farm colors red and white, but in the subtle details of the clothing and baby chair, these colors are demonstrated. This helps show that State Farm is family ordinated. They are not only looking out for the parents, but also looking out for the children. • 7. The Wells Creek Impact Structure The Wells Creek Impact Structure: Impact Melts produces shock metamorphism in the target rock. Michael A. Burklow Department of Geology, University of Tennessee at Martin, Martin, Tennessee 38237, USA Abstract The Wells Creek structure was formed by a meteorite impact in Cumberland, Tennessee (36В°гЂ–23гЂ—^ N,87В°40 W) which is the northern part of Middle Tennessee. This region is known as the highland rim. The younger and older strata is exposed in two areas in the highland rim which means the older sediment has been eroded and much of the younger sediment remains. The impact produced a variety of structural features. The circular central block contains a circular core of megabreccia about 1520 meters (Ford, 2012). The impacted breccia is monomitic breccia, which is the result of rock deformation from the impact event. The breccia from Wells Creek is homogenous breccia that has been under intense movement and very high confining pressures. The angular Horst is an upthrown block between the two fault blocks and the inner Graben is a downthrown block near the central block (Ford, 2012). The larger impact structure is an anticline which is boarded by a second ring Syncline of the wells creek basin structure (Ford, 2012). The shock wave releases are large amounts of energy from the central point of impact moving outward forming ring anticlines and synclines. The newer models of televisions contain plasma in their screens. Plasma screens are made up of groups of cells called pixels. These pixels are composed of three sub pixels that consist of three different colors; green, red, and blue. This technology uses a plasma etching system which is a type of plasma processing mainly used in fabricating integrated circuits. The process involves shooting a gas mixture of glow discharge or plasma towards a sample at very high speeds. (The Canadian News). The plasma, in gas state, reacts with phosphors in the television panel s sub pixels to create colored light in green, red, or blue. A phosphor is a synthetic fluorescent or phosphorescent substance. The phosphors used are comparable to the ones used in traditional Cathode Ray Tube televisions and computer monitors. Cathode Ray tubes are a high vacuum tube in which cathode rays produce a luminous image on a fluorescent screen. With plasma technology, televisions are now able to display richer, more dynamic, and more realistic colors than the CRT televisions (The Canadian News). Richard III Research Paper The Tragedy of Richard III by William Shakespeare depicts Richard III as a horrible, manipulative, and power hungry monarch; not so much when he is a monarch, but in the events leading up to his reign. Whether this interpretation of Richard is accurate will be determined through evidence that either supports or denies Shakespeare s version of the events. Not mentioned in The Tragedy of Richard IIIare all of the accomplishments that Richard succeeded in during his reign, considering that he spent much of his time as king defending his throne. • 11. Gothic Criticism In Northanger Abbey, By Jane Austen Jane Austen is the first great woman writer in English and, arguably, England s first great novelist. She is one of those literary artists, who not only laid the foundation of novel, but also give it to a new direction. A supremely comic writer and moralist, Austen redefines novel as a delicate instrument to reveal human nature. She is one of the few novelists in the world literature who is regarded as a classic and yet is widely read. As Catherine; a young woman s mind can be easily influenced by such things. Her near obsession reflects that of the society of her time. Through using Gothic themes and motifs, Austen creates an effective atmosphere but rather than creating a horrific and mysterious story from them, she clearly depicts the effects the genre had on young women during their time of writing. She shows the societal opinion of the Gothic, her own opinion of Gothic novelists, and how the genre can influence one s imagination. For Catherine, Northanger Abbey symbolizes an imagined ideal. As soon as she enters the abbey, she begins to think of herself as the heroine of a Gothic novel. Unlike Bath, which is simply a pleasant tourist town, the Abbey is a place of mystery and perhaps even adventure, at least in Catherine s mind. She makes the mistake of applying Gothic novels to real life situations; for example, later in the novel she begins to suspect General Tilney of having murdered his deceased wife. When the Abbey turns out to be disappointingly normal, Catherine uses her memory of the abbeys from her novel reading to make it more frightening. • 13. Type 2 Diabetes And Glucose Level Type 2 diabetes is a physiological, long term disease which affects how the human body controls its glucose level. Type 2 diabetes is caused when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin. Insulin is a naturally occurring internal secretion which the pancreas produces and releases when food is consumed. The body becomes resistant to insulinwhen a person has type 2 diabetes; this powers the pancreas to work harder to shuffle more insulin. Over time this can harm cells in the pancreas, eventually preventing it from producing insulin. If enough insulin is not produced or if the body does not use it efficiently, glucose builds up in the bloodstream, causing the body s cells to starve for energy. Thence, to ameliorate its perceived insecurity, India has attempted to grasp the position of regional hegemon (Rais 1991, 379), but has done so unsuccessfully and in the fact of strong opposition. Whilst India adopts a pan Asian strategy, Pakistan has singularly defined its national security agenda in terms of protecting Muslims from a menacing India (Riedel 2008, 41). This is a very strong type of intermolecular force, which results in a high boiling point and a lot of surface tension. Hв‚‚O has the second highest amount of substance on the penny because Hв‚‚O consists of hydrogen bonds, which are very strong but not as strong as ion dipole bonds. This is why Hв‚‚O had a lot of surface tension, but slightly less than NaCl. Ethanol had the third most amount of substance on the penny, and this is because ethanol also has hydrogen bonds like Hв‚‚O, but because ethanol is a a bigger molecule there are less bonds, and therefore less surface tension. Soapy water had the least amount of substance on the penny, and this is because soap molecules have hydrophobic ends, so when they are mixed with water molecules, they break the surface tension created by the strong hydrogen bonds. There are four distinct stages childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and old age. There are many biological changes that occur during the life cycle as well as the many social impacts that occur, such as industrialization. As we move through these complicated life cycles we find that each stage in life is both biological as well as a social construct. The society we live in determines how we will approach each life cycle and how it will shape who we will become. Childhood is one of the first biological life cycles we encounter. The experience that we go through shape what we will become. • 39. Battle Of Troy Essay The Battle of Troy was historic battle that changed the way we safeguard our military bases and equipment. Many lessons were learned from the events leading to the fall of the Trojan army. The Trojan War between the Greeks and Trojans took place in the city of Troy during the Bronze Era. This was the first successful deception event conducted by an army and led the Greeks to seize and destroy the city of Troy. The elaborate plan consisted of concealing Greek soldiers inside of a large wooden horse and offer it to the Trojans as a gift with the intent of gaining access into the city of Troy. Once inside soldiers were to unlock the heavily fortified gates, which the Greek army was unable to penetrate, so the Greek soldiers could gain access... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was battle that was part of a ten year war between the Greek and the Trojan Army. According to Homer s Iliad, the battle lasted 53 days in the final year of a ten year conflict. The war was a result of a personal feud between the Trojan prince Paris, also known as Alexandros and Menealaos, King of Sparta and brother of Agamenon. The Greeks and Menealaos wanted to reclaim Helen, wife of Menealaos, as Alexandro had kidnaped her as a prize for choosing Aphrodite as the most beautiful goddess in a beauty competition. (Cartwright, 2013) In this battle an enormous wooden Trojan horse was left behind as an offering to the Trojans, however it had Greek soldiers hiding inside. The Trojans were surprised by the offering and never saw the deception plan unraveling. The wooden horse was brought into the city of Troy opening the fortified gates of Troy to the Greeks, which they had been unable to penetrate. This allowed the Greek soldiers to invade Troy and eventually burn and destroy the city and end the war. This was the first recorded deception technique used by an Army. During this era the use of intelligence tactics was not developed yet. The use of Human and Counter Intelligence to gather information about the possible use of this deception technique would have made a remarkable difference on how the war could have ended. The Trojan Army could have also implemented security measures in order to investigate any items entering their fortified City of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. Examples Of Love At First Sight In Romeo And Juliet Love at first sight does not exist. Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy that starts with love at first sight. Shakespeare developed two ignorant, naГЇve, stubborn, narrow minded, teenaged characters that ended up taking their own lives because they were led into temptation. A few examples of the temptation in which they were led were when Romeo was persuaded to go to a party without an invitation. That and they decided to get married without telling their parents the day after they met, and Juliet was basically engaged to Paris with a wedding date mere weeks from the day they got married. Amongst all these things, Romeo showed how impatient and hard headed he was when he left Mantua, where he was told to wait for Juliet s letter, and went to her... This created the fast paced relationship that was what got them killed. Romeo and Juliet had to know this was going to happen, and not just because the priest had said, Those who run quickly stumble, (Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet). His statement means things take time. Romeo and Juliet proved their minds were narrow once more when they got married after a day of knowing each other, without their parent s consent, and Juliet was already to marry Paris weeks later. Instead Juliet married Romeo, a Montague, her family s rival family. Juliet even said, My only love sprung from my only hate, (Shakespeare). If they would have told someone they could have resolved the issue like adults but instead show how immature and hard head they were. Another thing that proved they fell into something bad, and not into love, was when Romeo was in Mantua, waiting as he was told, and decides to say, I defy you, stars, (Shakespeare). He literally said he knew it wasn t supposed to happen and still did it. He knew defying destiny that was in the stars wasn t something he should do, but still committed these actions repeatedly throughout the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Could we name them in a pop quiz? Personally, I would have to say no. After all my years as an artist and student, not even I could have named five. I found two books in my college library on women Surrealists. According to one of those books, In Wonderland, The Surrealist Adventures of Women Artists in Mexico and the United States, there were almost fifty femaleSurrealists significant enough to be noted for their contributions (Fort, Foreword). The few women Surrealists who are associated with their spouses, such as Dorothea Tanning and Frida Kahlo, are mentioned more frequently. It is noteworthy, however, that Frida Kahlo did not consider herself a Surrealist, even though she was familiar and close friends with quite a few. Kahlo said, They thought I was a Surrealist, but I wasn t. I never painted dreams. I painted my own reality (Moffat, Web). As important as these women are to our history, there are far more who have not been given sufficient attention. There are well over a hundred women associated with this era.
