Falls are the leading cause of death in the construction industry, accounting for around 150-200 deaths per year. Fall protection regulations require employers to provide fall protection any time workers are exposed to falls of 6 feet or greater. Common types of fall protection include guardrails, safety nets, personal fall arrest systems (PFAS), and safety monitoring systems. Employers must also train workers on fall hazards and fall protection equipment.
