  Both the increased competence they feel
 after mastering technology-based tasks and
 their awareness of the value placed upon
 technology within our culture, led to
 increases in students' (and often teachers')
 sense of self worth.
 More   Collaboration with Peers

  Collaboration is fostered for obvious reasons
 when students are assigned to work in pairs
 or small groups for work at a limited number
 of computers. But even when each student
 has a computer, teachers note an increased
 frequency of students helping each other.

Facilitating k-12 instruction with technology

  • 2.  Students can prepare assignments in various multimedia format.  Students can manipulate technology tools to meet their needs.  Students can also utilize tools of their choice which can aid them in retaining information.
  • 3.  Change in Student and Teacher Roles They are in an active role rather than the passive role of recipient of information transmitted by a teacher, textbook, or broadcast. The student is actively making choices about how to generate, obtain, manipulate, or display information.
  • 4.  Increased Motivation and Self Esteem Both the increased competence they feel after mastering technology-based tasks and their awareness of the value placed upon technology within our culture, led to increases in students' (and often teachers') sense of self worth.
  • 5.  More Collaboration with Peers Collaboration is fostered for obvious reasons when students are assigned to work in pairs or small groups for work at a limited number of computers. But even when each student has a computer, teachers note an increased frequency of students helping each other.
  • 6.  Many educators have difficulty finding ideas and to help them integrate technology into each subject area.  Inthe following slides you will find teaching tools to use with students.

  • 9.  Have students create their "Wild Self".
