Compare And Contrast The Chesapeake Colonies
he four colonies: Chesapeake, New England, The Middle Colonies and The Carolinas all make up
the mid Atlantic states despite their differences on how they became a colony but can still have
similar colonial governments.
The Chesapeake was slow to colonize due to severe illness, it was culturally known for its source of
tobacco fields and its slave labor to keep the colonies crop growing, Chesapeake is also known as
Chesapeake Bay which lead thousands of English immigrants to move to Virgina and Maryland to
work in the tobacco fields.
New England was, founded by the Puritan families also known as Pilgrims their colony slow to
grow due few financial resources, the has poor soil bad for crops so they relied on fishing and

Benefits Of Genetic Modification
The debate about genetic modification has been going on for a long time. On one hand,
advocates for genetic modification believe that many diseases could be prevented and it would
relieve many people from pain. On the other hand, many critics of genetic modification believe
that it is unnatural or playing god. I am drawn to this issue because I believe genetic
modification is going to be, if it isn t already, ubiquitous in our future. In my lifetime, 20 30 years
from now, I will have to deal with the benefits and the possible ramifications of genetic
modification. This issue is going to affect me directly and therefore I have chosen this topic.
Genetic modification is already on the horizon and there is little anyone can do to stop this.
Genetic modification should be allowed because it can relieve suffering, improve the quality of life
and strengthen pharmaceuticals. but it obviously needs limitations and regulations. While genetic
modification, can dramatically improve people s lives, it could have side effects if abused. It should
be noted that genetic modification should only be used to cure or prevent serious diseases, there
should be no enhancements. There is a fine line between preventative medicine and enhancements.
An enhancement is changing something normal to make it extraordinary. Serious diseases would
include all such ailments that infringes on a human beings quality of life and puts them through
pain. Fatal diseases such as cystic fibrosis, cancer,

David Snow Psychological Theory
A psychological theory that can contribute to the explanation of David Snow and why he
murdered and sexually assaulted individuals would be Freud s psychoanalytic theory. According to
Freud, one is more likely to abide criminal behaviour when there is disruption during childhood
psychosexual development (Brookman, 2005a). In addition to development interruption, having a
weak conscious will coincide with the likelihood of criminal behaviour (Brookman, 2005a). The
mind is comprised of the Id, Ego and Superego, and when there is a conflict of these three efforts
to make decisions results in a weaker ability to make sufficient judgement (Brookman, 2005a). The
Ego is supposed to reflect adequate judgement through learning upon poor urges that lead... Show

Some of his signatures that was consistent and found through his victims and at the cottages
were bondage and strangulation, and his military writings. These type of M.O. s do not occur
very frequently as a tactic for death which eventually lead to the connection from Vancouver to
Ontario. For example, strangulation only occurs in 38.6% of killings (Fox Levin, 2015) and the
use of gags or blindfolds being 7.1% (Beauregard Martineau, 2012). It is also noteworthy Snow
was described to be a very organized individual, which increases the likelihood of moving the
victim s body after the crime (Beauregard Martineau, 2012), which was evident in the Blackburns
deaths. Although these characteristics are uncommon, police were able to utilize his M.O. to
determine links between the crimes and assisted in the identification of David Snow. Snow s
victim s of the double murder were acquaintances as they were connected from Snow going to
the Blackburn s farm to get items for his antique shop. According to Decker s article Exploring
Victim offender Relationships in Homicide, approximately 46% of homicides are involved with
acquaintances (Decker, 1993). As Snow escalated and the weekly victims occurred there was no
evidence of knowing his victims, they were simply in a vulnerable position which he took
advantage of. This discrepancy of victim

Compare And Contrast Peare And George Washington
Everybody knows something about the American Revolution. But how many people know about
the eerily similar, yet drastically different Irish Easter Rising and subsequent revolution? Causes,
leaders, battles, treaties, resolutions, and effects are a part of every country. Sometimes they are
similar, and other times not, as is the case with America and Ireland. Padraig Pearse and George
Washington were both elected commander in chief over armies. Neither of them had ever
commanded large armies before, although Washington had commanded squadrons. They both also
lost more battles than they won. However, the similarities mostly end here. The outcome was the
most different. Washington won, after a long struggle. Pearse eventually surrendered, saving
countless lives.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of the Irish leaders were writers, poets, or scholars with little to no military training. In
contrast, the Americans had a lot of trained and capable leaders. These drastically different leaders
had drastically different effects on the Revolutions. Washington s unique military tactics won the
American Revolution, starting when he had the idea to cross the Delaware. And Pearse, although
he lost, went down in history for his bravery when faced with insurmountable odds. One of Pearse s
most famous quotes reads They think that they have pacified Ireland. They think that they have
purchased half of us and intimidated the other half. They think they have foreseen everything, think
that they provided against everything; but the fools, the fools, the fools! they have left us our
Fenian dead, and while Ireland holds these graves, Ireland unfree shall never be at peace. This
quote meant much more after the executions of sixteen Irish rebel commandants than it did when it
was first said at Jeremiah O Donovan Rossa s funeral. It gave hope to young revolutionaries and
incited rebellion against

My First Year Of Life Essay
I was born on September 29th 1994 in San Buenaventura, Mexico. A small town that would
remain foreign to me until the age of 21. My mom s and dad s relationship was complicated and
structured on the submissive/dominant dynamic most Mexican families have. My dad illegally
came to the United States around my second year of life. My mom followed him by obtaining a
work visa. She followed him blindly as she was so in love and so lost without him. My mom left
me behind but sent for me a few weeks later. I entered as someone else. My uncle and aunt had a
baby around the same age as me and genetics made my cousin and I look similar enough that
boarder patrol didn t question my identity any further. I left behind faint memories of my people
and the place that raised me. In the Unites States my family united and we welcomed my little
brother, Daniel into the world. Daniel became my dad s pride and my mom s prince and I
became the dutiful daughter and sister. Since I was brought to the United States at the age of
two I grew up believing I was a born and raised American. I grew pride in this country and I felt
proud to call this place my home. I was basically raised as an American with Mexican influences
coming only from my family. Even though I am Mexican I became more influenced by American
culture. I was an avid reader and many of the stories I read where about blue eye girls with blonde
hair and their perfect families. I grew up influenced by these stories and I desperately wanted

My Field Placement Will Be At Child Protective Services Essay
Introduction
My field placement will be at Child protective services in El Paso TX. The department of child
Protective Services withholds a wide range of services and responsibilities that include,
investigating reports of abuse and neglect of children, provide services to children and families in
their homes, providing services to help youth in foster care successfully transition to adulthood and
helping children find adoption. There are many subdivisions within the department itself which
offers different amenities during an open case with CPS, although these services solely justify the
department, there is a unit known as Family Based Services or also FBSS which focuses on
resources that will strengthen the family s privation in order to ensure child safety and wellbeing.
The Department predominantly benefits from task groups rather than treatment groups, because the
department is on deadlines with each individual case, a treatment group would not benefit for the
departments ultimate value which is Family Reunification. If the department is involved with a
family for too long this may cause emotional distress on the children as well as the family. Every
year in the United States, more than one out of every hundred children are victims of substantiated
child abuse and neglect. For instance, in 2006, 3.6 million cases of child maltreatment were
investigated, which is a rate of 47.8 per 1,000 children. In that year, nearly 1 million maltreatment
claims were substantiated

The Influence Of Adolf Hitler
Hitler leadership was not significant because he made war world II. Hitler spread lies about the
jews say the jews were greedy and were the reason for Germany s economic troubles.
Adolf Hitler created a fascist politics in Germany known as the Nazi Party. Hitler claimed that
Germany should taken from Germany by the Treaty of versailles.
The third Reich in power at the beginning of 1938, Hitler s attention turned once more to Austria
and the formal agreement on 11 July 1936 and on that date he urged caution on the Austrian Nazis,
not waiting to cause international alarm and was Reich Chancellor on 3 February 1938 he asked
friesh to resign.
Adolf Hitler is who caused me to leave my hometown of Germany and immigrated to America. As
I am Jewish, Hitler made Germany an unsafe place for me. He mass murdered 6,000,000 Jews in
Germany during the Holocaust. He was truly a terrible man. On April 20, 1889 Adolf Hitler was
born. He was not always so crude as we know him now. He really became mean when his
younger brother Edmund died, changing his perspective of life. This was the start of the terrible
Hitler we remember today. From that day on, Hitler transformed into a morose, sullen boy who
was constantly fighting with his father, who he didn t have a very good relationship with. Hitler s
childhood affected how he acted later in life. However, it wasn t just Hitler s childhood that turned
him into a bad man. Hitler made some very wrong choices as an adult. As chancellor,

Latin Music Usa Analysis
Salsa In my Life The video Latin Music USA, relates to our class watching the video I am able
to say I can do some of the moves they do! Our class relates to this video because they talk a lot
about community and being able to connect to another, I think our class connects us to others we
generally would not associate with. They talk about when the Fania All Stars would perform the
energy from both the stage and the audience was tremendous and people did not want to sit, I
think this relates to our class because before the class even starts people are dancing trying to
further perfect the way they dance.
Our classroom reminds me of the Palladium Ballroom, we go to class expecting to dance and
have a good time just like those who went to the Palladium. Our classroom is not as famous as
the Palladium however, I believe that the class about the same impact on people. Everyone who

makes a difference. I have a big family +100 cousins and I always feel like I m close to every
single on them because of dancing. This class gave me a better understanding of why my family

The development of digital integrated circuits is...
The development of digital integrated circuits is challenged by higher power consumption. The
combination of higher clock speed, greater functional integration and smaller process geometries
has marked their contribution to significant growth in power density. Scaling improvises the
transistor in 65nm and below density and functionality on a chip. It helps to increase speed and
frequency operation, hence giving a higher performance. As voltage scales downward with
geometries, threshold voltages must also decrease to gain the performance advantages of the new
technology but leakage technology increases exponentially. Thinner gate oxides have led to an
increase in gate leakage current. Today, leakage power has become an increasingly... Show more

Also, the dynamic range is degraded by these strict limitations. Upwards, the dynamic range is
lowered due to the reduced signal headroom as a result of reduced supply voltage. Downwards, the
dynamic range is limited by larger noise voltages due to curtailed supply currents. The only way to
make the operational amplifier survive the trend towards lower supply voltages without
weakening its characteristics, is by developing very efficient operational amplifier topologies
that combine low voltage and low power operation and be as simple as possible to save die area,
in its contemporary sense. In this thesis, we design and analyses different design approach of
operational amplifier circuits using power gating technique and MTCMOS leakage reduction
techniques. Both these techniques are very effective for reducing leakage power and group delay,
increasing gain margin in electronic devices. Here, power gating technique is used to reduce
leakage power, group delay and increase gain and phase margin.
We reduce the leakage current in stand mode and ground bounce noise in sleep to active mode
transition. In MTCMOS technique, high VTH devices are used on non critical paths to reduce
static leakage power without incurring delay penalty. If we reduce the leakage current and delay,
ground bounce noise of circuit will increase circuit reliability. On the other hand, when a power
gating technique works in standby mode, the switch transistor is turned OFF, which disconnects the

Adoption and Usage rate Because the system is capable of advancing quality of care in numerous
ways, the healthcare service providers have been considering to implement the technology in their
institutions since the system has been commercially available in the market place since 2006 (Ford,
McAlenrney, Phillips, Menachemi, and Rudolph, 2008). Although a good number of institutions
have been analyzing the possibility of adopting the system, until recently, it was estimated that only
5% of U.S. hospitals had the system in operation (American Hospital Association Archive). Another
study, a 2003 report from First Consulting Group for the American Hospital Association and the
Federation of American Hospitals, says that an estimated 5% of American hospitals used CPOE in
2002. Moreover, a report found that the amount of U.S. hospitals with completely available CPOE
system was estimated only 9.6% in 2002 [Ash et al, 2004]. Another report from the Leapfrog Group
titled Healthcare Benchmarks and Quality Improvement has estimated that about 10% of all U.S.
hospitals would have completed CPOE implementationby the end of 2006 [Ash et al, 2004]. Add a
transition clause here, according to the Leapfrog Group CPOE evaluation tool, it was reported that
a mere 8% U.S. hospitals were using the system (Anderson, 2009) 120. Not only the

Divine Command Theory And The Euthyphro Dilemma
The divine command theory is the view in which, what is right is what God commands, and what
is wrong is what God forbids (Holt). The divine command theory brings morality and religion
together in a way that provides a solution to arguments such as, moral relativism and the objectivity
of ethics. A philosopher named Plato created The EuthyphroDilemma, which was created from the
dialogue from Socrates and Euthyphro (Holt). The Euthyphro Dilemma can be stated: Is an action
morally good because Godcommands it, or does God command it because it is morally good?
(Holt). An individual might be more open to take a step back from the divine command theoryand
look at it to be something external to God. The ethical implications of this argument... Show more

Which is to simply accept that if God does command cruelty, then inflicting it upon others would
be morally mandatory. William of Ockham who was a philosopher of the medieval time period,
stated that the actions which we call stealing and adultery would be mandatory for us if God
commanded us to do them (Mastin). Most people who follow philosophical views find this to be
an unacceptable viewpoint of moral obligation. This objection shows that any theory of ethics
can leave open the possibility that such actions are morally admirable are critically flawed
(Mastin). In 1987, an analytic philosopher named Robert Adams pointed out that William of
Ockham s view emphasized that it is a mere logical possibility that God could command to
commit adultery, stealing, or killing and is not a real possibility (Holt). From this even if it is
logically possible that God could command to commit adultery, stealing, etc., it is not something
that God will do, given his place in the actual world. From the overall objection from the William
of Ockham view, I do not think he would be prepared to enforce suffering on individuals even if
God told us to do it

Summary Of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) is a profound disease that involves an overproduction of
immature myeloid and lymphoid cells. Hematopoiesis is a process where Hemocytoblast stem
cells differentiate into a range of progenitor cells. Part of the developmental process for these
progenitor cells occurs in the spleen, liver and lymph nodes. In ALL, clonal cells then take up space
within the bloodstream, causing the percentage of normal blood constituents to be out of balance.
For example, less erythrocytes are made, putting the suffer at risk of being anemic which has
further risks associated with it. It can be determined that you have ALL from a blood test,
chromosome analysis or a bone marrowsample. For a blood test, then a complete blood

Bret Easton Ellis Essay
Bret Easton Ellis is one of the great American writers of our time. Some of his famous works
include his debut novel, Less Than Zero (1985), and his opus, American Psycho (1991), which are
household names for any literary or cinematic buff. Although the man behind the mask may not be
identifiable by all, almost everybody knows the name Patrick Bateman, and recognizes the famous
role played by actor Christian Bale. Although Ellis literary prose might lead you to believe he was
a dedicated scholar, his extracurricular activities would definitely prove you wrong. He was actually

It was at the young age of twenty one that he wrote his first book, called Less Than Zero, which
centers around a main character who returns home one day to discover his girlfriend addicted to
cocaine. The novel explains in detail the effect of drugs on individuals, and the darker parts of
life. Less Than Zero was Ellis debut novel, and it quickly rocketed him to fame. The success of
his first book provided him with enough momentum to release his second novel, American Psycho.
Although this would become known as his most famous work, at the time it made him a leper to
the literary population. The level of violence and brutality caused people to condemn his work, and
it wasn t really until the movie adaptation that it gained acclaim. After that his career skyrocketed.
In addition to drafting more novels, he wrote screenplays for movies such as The Informers and

The Clean Water Act ( Cwa )
In 1972 the Clean Water Act (CWA) was passed, and it established the infrastructure for waste
water management in the U.S. The CWA s main objective is to recover and preserve the physical,
biological, and chemical purity of water. The CWA formed a program that would ensure
communities had clean water by limiting the exposure of contaminants in U.S. waterways. Waste
water treatment is essential to the world because it gives people ability to use streams and rivers
for swimming, fishing and drinking water. In the early part of the 20th century, pollution in the
U.S. urban waterways caused negative side effects like fish kills, low dissolved oxygen, bacterial
contamination, and algal blooms. Early attempts of controlling water pollutionkept human waste
from contaminating water supplies or reduced floating junk that hindered shipping. Problems with
Pollution and control were mainly local concerns. Industrial and population growth have increased
the requirement for natural resources, changing the situation drastically. Advancements in
decreasing pollution can hardly keep in front of the increase in population, development of
technology, adjustments in industrial processes, business breakthroughs, increased land use, and
several other factors. The growth in both the variety and quantity of goods manufactured has
greatly altered the size and complexity of waste produced by industries and it challenges standard
treatment technology. The use of pesticides and commercial

The Role Of Paralegal In Family Law
Bird (2014) addresses the functions of a family law paralegal. If a client need assistance with
family issues such as divorce, adoption, domestic violence, child abuse or neglect then a paralegal
is the person to contact. As the paralegal, their job is to find out the problem the clients might have
by asking the right questions while keeping the client focused. When dealing with family law
aspects, it is easy for the clients to express their emotions. Paralegals duties are to call the clients
and schedule appointments to interview with the attorney at a convenient time (Bird, 2014). Some

For instance, attorneys work with each other on written request and correspondence, therefore

Paralegals draft court documents as well as keep track of deadlines (Bird, 2014). A paralegal in
family law has the duties to discover individual s life by identifying and documenting paperwork
such as income, expenses, assets, debts, parenting issues, and personal history. The information
the paralegal gather s is used for the attorney to present the case. Another function of a paralegal
is the relationship they build with the courthouse staff allows them to be a step ahead. A good
paralegal build relationship with the judge s secretary and law clerk to help the attorney with
the cases. In most cases, the paralegal can prepare the clients for the assigned judge s
disposition, although they are randomly assigned. The paralegal can schedule emergency
hearings, and typically knows which judges are impatient with emotional manifest and which
ones are tolerate (Bird, 2014). Even though a paralegal is not a lawyer their functions are hands

Sales Promotion Tools Are The Lifeblood Of Marketing Products
Sales promotion tools are the lifeblood of marketing products/services to consumers. Without
them, people would not be as likely to purchase every new fad that comes their way, and
corporations would be wasting their money on products people were nervous to buy. For
example, if you were used to using one particular type of cat food because you know your cat
enjoys eating it, how likely would you be to switch the food? Probably not very likely, due to the
fact that you had already looked at the nutrition facts, the price, and the seafood taste that cats
are sure to love. Now, what if you received a ten dollar off coupon (for cat food that only costs
twelve dollars). What would you do? Would you reconsider the food you were going to buy that
week because of this coupon? Maybe the new food is just as good now that you are really thinking
about it, and it only is going to cost a total of two dollars, so no harm done if you go ahead and
make the purchase. This is exactly what a good salespromotion does to consumers, it makes them
take a second look at their buying choices, and hopefully convinces them that it would be a good
idea to try their product. I live in the United States, and the three most heavily used sales
promotions are contests, loyalty programs, and sponsorships. Who doesn t love a chance to win
something free I know I do! Contests give you a chance to win a product that you would like to

Review Of Eric Remarque s All Quiet On The Western Front
Death is not the only thing to come out of war. Eric Remarque wanted to show us the facts about
war and he did but he also showed us three things that happen in war with emotions. In this essay I
will go over three things that come out of war other than death which is betrayal, horror, and
friendship. To begin with, betrayal is a strong emotion that can lead to hatred and more emotions.
Kantorek talks the boys into joining the warbecause he thought that it would be fun and a good
experience for them. Another way of betrayal can be the unspoken kind like how when the boys
first go to the front they find coffins and they think that the government has little hopes for people
to survive. The final way of betrayal is physical betrayal like when the boys beat up Himmelstoss
just because they did not like how he treated them. For all those reasons is why I think that betrayal
is a strong emotion that can overwhelm someone with hate.... Show more content on

What Is The Theme Of The Lady s Last Cake By William Hogarth
The Lady s Last Stake was painted by William Hogarth in 1759 for the First Earl of Charlemont,
James Caulfield. The size of the painting itself is smaller than I expected The medium of this
painting is oil on canvas. The advantage of using oil paint on canvas is that the paint is wet longer
and makes the paintingappear to be shiny. However, by using oil paintHogarth had to follow
certain rules so that the painting would not go brittle as quickly. The painting itself appears to
be unified with no chaos depicted. There is radial balance starting where the man and the
woman are painted and moves out from there. In this painting Hogarth uses lines to emphasize a
horizontal direction. This is accomplished through invisible lines. The man that is depicted in
the painting is looking towards the object the woman rests her hand upon. This creates an
obvious invisible line and establish the focal point of the painting. The emphasis in this painting
is placed on the woman. The woman proves to be the focal point in this artwork because she is
wearing a vibrant gold dress and is placed in the center of the painting. The man leans towards her
and is looking in her direction. Hogarth creates a sense of intrigue in making the woman the focal
point of the painting. The male figure gaze also establishes a psychological line. Most of the lines
Hogarth uses are thin and precise.
In the painting Hogarth depicts light using a three part window. The artist allows the viewer to

Persuasive Essay About Food Bank
Food banks are a terrible solution to a terrible issue. Hunger is one of the biggest issues the
human race experiences. One in nine people in the world, or 795 million people, out of the 7.4
billion people go hungry every day because they do not have enough to eat. Every 10 seconds, a
child dies from hunger related diseases (The Hunger Project, 2017). The way lots of organizations
try to help these people in need are through food banks. A food bankis a non profit, charitable
organization that distributes to those who have difficulty purchasing enough food to avoid hunger.
Food banks are inefficient in aspects of time, money, and effort because so much more can be done

Another issue arises though, it needs to be transported from the warehouse to the appropriate
drop off place, which is most likely in a high density residential area, not an industrial area. The
time it takes for all this to happen is simply too much and non efficient. We are in an era where
time is valuable. Everyone is so busy with their lives, be it for work, school, family, or hobbies, it
is unnecessary to spend all this time just to donate something that not even the buyer would eat.
To show an example, let s say a donator s name is David. David works a 9 5 job which pays $20
per hour and has three kids, two of which have swimming practice after school. David picks up
his kids at 5:30, and goes home right in time for dinner. On his dinner table, he has high quality
foods that are packed with nutrients. David remembers there s a food drive raffle near his
workplace that is looking for donations for a chance to win a grand prize. David now has to go
out of his way to go to a grocery store to buy non perishable foods. Instead of wasting his time

The study draws economic analogies for Heisenberg s Uncertainty principle and concentrates on the
17 largest Investment Banks and the 10 largest Mutual Funds. It tries to quantify the uncertainty
and lists the economic mass of every institution from among the two groups and the average
economic masses of each group as well. The study was restricted to publically listed Investment
Banks and Mutual Funds and the model was not applicable to privately held and boutique banks
and also wasn t applicable to hedge funds and other private funds which did not report their Net
Asset Value Returns. According to the findings, the economic mass was highest for Goldman Sachs
while Toronto Domino Bank shows the least economic mass. When it comes to Mutual Funds,
Pimco the world s largest mutual fund had the lowest economic mass; the exposure to the crisis
could be the reason behind this. The American Funds Growth Fund of America has the highest
economic mass. This study has been able to show that the Heisenberg s Uncertainty Principle has
implications for financial institutions. For future research, one could look into applying the model
for privately held Financial Institutions and those funds which do not report their returns like Hedge
Funds.

A Comparative Analysis of Armies of the Night and The...
Taken at face value, Norman Mailer s Armies of the Night and Tom Wolfe s The Electric Kool
Aid Acid Test may seem very similar. They are both centered on a major author of the 1960s and
his experiencing of historical events of the time, while set in the style of New Journalism. When
examined closer, though, it becomes apparent that these novels represent two very different sides of

The opening pages of chit chat, the reply to Time magazine, the celebrity talk about Lowell,
Macdonald, Goodman, the fierce competitiveness all this tells us from the beginning that this is
Mailer s story (Dickstein 149). By choosing to depict acts in which he took part and from his
point of view Mailer is able to make the validity of his statements implicit he actually saw what
he is writing about. At the same time though, questions of how much Mailer s bias is affecting
the novel are raised. Mailer is able to address these questions of possible bias by making it
exceedingly obvious when his bias is at play. As Hellmann notes, Calling himself the Novelist and
self consciously using the contrivances of novelistic form, Mailer makes us view the facts of his
work as both reliable (in that we are fully shown their source in his firsthand observation) and
doubtful (in that we are constantly reminded that they result merely from such observation) (39).
Instead of trying to hide this bias, Mailer uses it to further strengthen his work. An example of
Mailer s use of bias is in his description of the US Marshals he saw while waiting on the bus which
would take him to prison, he begins with their faces are considerably worse than he had expected
and they had the kind of faces which belong to bad guys in a Western (150). This establishes Mailer
s biased view of the US Marshals and by providing these

organizational theory Essay
Question #1
Despite the economic progress brought about in part by scientific management, critics were calling
attention to the seamy side of progress which included severe labor management conflict, apathy,
boredom, and wasted human resources to examine the discrepancy between how an organization
was supposed to work versus how the workers actually behaved. In addition, factors like World War
I, developments in psychology and later the depression, all bought into question, some of the basic
assumptions of Scientific Management. (Internet) This is where the Human Relations School steps
in. Its primary focus is the importance of attitudes and feelings of workers, while informal roles and
norms influence performance. At the most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To Mayo, this was not only the key to organizational success, but also the goal to achieving social
stability. He also viewed informal group processes as the promoting tool for social integration, as
well as stopping absenteeism, turnover, and discontent among employees.
Another important person at this time was Chester Barnard, who combined practical experience in
management and corporate affairs with a complex and sophisticated theory of organization and
human behavior. His focus projected from an emphasis on the organization to an analysis of the
nature of an individual. He placed priority on tension between the organization and the individual
noting that ...organizations are constructed for particular purposes, but they employ individuals
who may have widely divergent objectives and desires. (Jaffe, 74) Barnard noted that cooperation
was needed for the organization to work effectively and efficiently. He discussed in his book, The
Functions of the Executive, the relationship between incentives and contributions, and the need to
join these together to meet an equilibrium of some sort. He claimed that this system would satisfy
individuals and obtain contributions from them while at the same time making everyone happy. To
do this, he used distribution hoping to gain cooperative activity from the employees. The executive
needs to note that distribution can be good in one situation but

The Rights Of Women And Education
A sufficient education is something that Westerner s like myself, have taken for granted for a
long time. It s easy to, in all honesty, because we have been raised in a society in which education
has been held at the utmost importance. In the United States women are held at an equal level with
men, we ve fought for this sense of equality for several years and unfortunately, not all women
across the world have had that same success. Women from other countries do not have half of the
rights that we do here in the United States, and this is something that we seem to never really think
about. Saudi Arabiais just one of the many countries around the world in which the women do not
have as many rights as men do. Being a feminist at heart with a hunger for education, it piqued
my interest to research the rights of women and education in Saudi Arabia. If I m being honest, I
had expected it to be much worse than it is, yet it could be so much better at the same time. Saudi
women should have every right to educate themselves in any aspect they want, and though they
have fought their way to gaining some leverage, there are still necessary steps that need to be
taken. Saudi Arabia is a country in Southeast Asia with a population of approximately twenty
seven million people. Of that twenty seven million people, it is estimated that 30% of them are
migrant workers. ( Saudi Arabia Demographics Profile 2014. ) The sex ratio of this country is
about 1.21 men for every 1 woman, with the

The Constitutional Monarchy System Of Nepal
Until 1990, Nepal was ruled by an authoritarian system. Democracy was declared in 1990
however it was constitutional monarchy system so people were not happy with this system. In
1996, Nepal Communist Party Maoist started civil war and ended in 2006. A decade long civil
war had 42 demands but 2 demands were noteworthy that were constituent assembly election (CA)
and federal system in Nepal. There was a peace process agreement between Maoist and government
of Nepal in 2006. Constituent elections were held two times. After CA election, a new federal
constitutionhas been made in 2015 but it will not be functioning until new federal election is done.
People have taken it negatively and positively both side. It is said that the constitution is being
rightly said to be amongst the most progressive in Asia guaranteeing equal rights to lesbian, gay,
bisexual and transgender community and providing representation for the same in government
mechanisms (P. Rohit, 2015).
In the last sixty five years, this is the first that has been widely adopted by an elected constituent
assembly. This constitution has also made a progressive transition from being sixty years of being
a Hindu state to a secular nation (P. Rohit, 2015). It is also the first constitution that moves away
from the previously unitary system to a federal nature by setting up different provinces distributing
legislative and executive powers between the legislative and provincial governments (P. Rohit,

Torture In Count Olaf s The Baudelaire Children
In this novel, the Baudelaire children each face the possibility of either death, sexual assault, or
torture. Count Olaf demonstrates paedophilic behaviours towards Violet by attempting to marry
her in order to gain access to their fortune that their parents have left for them in their will. When
Count Olaf confronts her with this unfavourable situation, he strokes Violet s hair (Snicket 94).
Violet realizes that agreeing to marry this predatory man entails maintaining traditional gender
roles. She imagines sleeping beside Count Olaf, and waking up each morning to look at [him].
She pictured wandering around the house [...] and cooking for his terrible friends at night (94).
Not only does this passage entail possibilities of non consensual sex between Count Olaf and
Violet, but also encompasses torture of Violet, since she is no longer able to follow her dreams of
becoming an inventor. These themes of sexual assault, lack of consent, and being forced into
gender roles can be very traumatic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Information security:When it comes to information security, every company faces a threat of losing
important information through hackers, natural disasters and employee dishonesty. Loss of
information could greatly affect the company s activities and cause a slow down in production.
Financial crisis: The global financial crisis has had an effect on most companies in the world
today. The rises in prices and shrinking bank lending rates have deprived businesses of the much
needed profits and capital respectively.
Media depictions: Depictions put forth by the media on certain occurrences about a company
could ruin its operations. GE has been a victim of media deception and was associated with the
Enron scandal which brought a lot of criticism and loss of investor confidence. The documentary
named deadly deception aired in 1991 displayed GE as a threat to human life for participating in
testing and building of nuclear weapons (Chasnoff, 1991). Such depictions could be used by
competitors to tarnish the company s name.

What Is There More Misery During The French Revolution
In the book Les Miserables, during the barricade scene, a group of boys, seemingly senseless,
sacrifice their lives without second thought for the cause, the French Revolution. With events that
led to the barricade, setting up the barricade itself, and the end of the fight, without doubt the
group of young men and women who died for their beliefs were a big part of the story. During the
1800s, many events were happening that made the people of France angry and caused tension
between them and the government. During the reign of King Louis XVI in France, he was
neglecting the people of his country, leaving them with very little to no sanitation and food. In the

Adolescence is filled with physical and emotional changes, along with ones search for their identity.
Divorce during this time can have a strong affect on an adolescent who is still trying to find
themselves. Teenagers need to have a secure foundation to grow and mature, but divorce can alter
that. A child or teen should not have to think about their parents lives. Divorce can be very
unsettling; changing the primary relationship between adolescent and adult. Divorce may change
the child or teens relationship with extended family members. For a child or teen, divorce is a hard
situation to deal with. As one teenager said when asked what divorce is; It is like having your
whole life flushed down a toilet and as it swirls downward you are powerless to do anything about
it .
Spiritual Effect
In the United States (U.S.), the divorce rate for first marriages is about 50 percent and for second
marriages it s about 60 percent. An estimated one million American children live through the
divorce of their parents every year. For those estimated one million American children, in general,
they will have a more difficult time with religion and a relationship with God. Those children
often describe themselves as spiritual or as involved in organized religion as others, but the truth is
that they are more often far less involve in organized religion activities. Children of divorce may
have a hard time understanding God. Often

Blair s style was also described as presidential; he often spoke on behalf of the nation rather than

Everyone has had a culture shock in their lifetime. Culture shock does not only occur overseas

environment. According to Condon and Yousef (2017), Culture Shock is a multifaceted
experience resulting from the stress associated with entering a new culture (Condon Yousef, 2017,
pg. 403). Everyone adapts in a different way to a new life and a new beginning, and it could be
hard at first before anyone can get use to it. I will explain the circumstances surrounding the new

The Effect Of The Reformation On The Roman Catholic Church
The Effect of the Reformation on the Roman Catholic Church The Roman Catholic Church grew
from an outlawed and persecuted religion to a well organized and powerful ruling body in the
western world. After the death of Jesus of Nazareth his disciples begin to spread his teachings of
love and salvation through a single God. However, early Christians quickly became seen as a
threat to the most powerful Empire at the time; Rome. Being monotheistic they refused to offer
sacrifice to state ran cults and as pacifist they refused to join the army. The Roman Empires power
laid in both the military and taxation so early Christians became the targets of persecution. In 64
CE Rome declares Christianityillegal and it remained so for almost three hundred years. However,
Christianity doesn t die and when Emperor Constantine made Christianity legal with the Edict of
Milan 313 the church grew quickly. Later Emperor Theodosius declares Catholic Christianity the
official religion of Rome and bans paganism. From here the Catholic Churchgrew in power and
influence becoming the single most powerful institution the western world. Socially it controlled
the everyday lives of people and played a major role in the governing of those same people.
Institutionally the church was well organized and based on hierarchy operating like an empire
similar to the one that tried to destroy it early in its history. Thanks to this the church also wielded
tremendous governing power. However, this all changed

Minor Squabbles
Huber states that creative problem solving is the most effective mode of conflict management
(2014, p. 175). Initially, the nurse manager should allow all parties involved an opportunity to
explain their position. This projects an authentic interest and commitment to fairness on the part of
the manager, as the manager attempts to reframe the conflict into a productive outcome.
Not all conflict needs to be addressed. Small, minor squabbles can sometimes be left to extinguish
on their own, this is using the avoiding technique. However, minor squabbles that draw the
attention and added investment of others may fan the flames of conflict and require an intervention
by the nurse manager. Accommodation is another technique used in conflict management.

Silas rise from poverty was not fully morally sound though, notwithstanding the fact that the
product he made his money with was one that was virtually handed to him and that sold itself. In
spite of these facts, at an earlier stage in the business, Silas had taken up a partner, Mr. Rogers, to
help him financially, and then forced him out before he could make any profit. This move appears
to be the first immoral business choice in the career of Silas Lapham. It forces him to be dishonest
not only to himself, but to his wife, by driving him to lie about and cover up his inner feelings
about what he had done. Although he states that he has a clear conscience concerning the whole
affair, he cannot so much as speak directly to the man during a chance meeting on the street. He
shies away from the awkward situation entirely, leaving his wife to contend with the betrayed
former partner.
Silas attempts to reconcile his deceiving Rogers by calling it a business chance, but his wife refutes
by stating,
It was no chance at all. You crowded him out. A man that saved you! No, you had got greedy,
Silas. You had made your paint your god, and you couldn t bear to let anybody

Cognitive Disorders And Its Effects On The Brain
Cognitive disorders involve problems in memory, orientation, level of consciousness, and other
cognitive functions (Huang et al., 2015) . These difficulties are due to abnormalities in neural
chemistry, structure or physiology originating in the brain or secondary to systemic illness (Huang
et al.). Patients with cognitive disorders may show psychiatric symptoms secondary to the cognitive
problems, such as depression, anxiety, paranoia, hallucinations and delusions and impaired motor
function(Huang et al.). One of the major cognitive disorders is dementia, which results from
impaired cognition, due to damage to the brain. Dementia is an umbrella that describes a wide
range of symptoms associated with a decline in memory and other cognitive... Show more content

As the US population ages, Alzheimer s has increased significantly (71%) (AA, 2016). In 2013,
there was over 84,000 deaths from AD in the U.S, however in 2016 the mortality rate doubled to
700,000 (AA, 2016). Among people age 70, 61% of those with AD are expected to die before
the age of 80 compared with 30% of people without Alzheimer s (AA, 2016). Most common risk
factor for Alzheimer s disease is age, however additional risk factors include gender (women) and
genetic and biological contributions. An estimated 3.2 million women aged 65 and older are living
with Alzheimer s. Among those aged 71 and older, 16 percent of women have Alzheimer s
compared with 11 percent of men (AA, 2016).
The abilities and interest of someone with dementia will change over time. There have been
increasing reports of non cognitive symptoms, including loss of motor function in older persons
diagnosed with Alzheimer s. It is estimated that up to 50% of older persons may have some
elements of motor impairments by the age of 80 years, however this would suggest that it would
be even a greater percentage for people living with dementia (AA, 2016). Motor impairment can
include reduced gait speed, loss of muscle strength and bulk, and reduced balance, as well as
dexterity (AA, 2016). Loss of muscle strength and bulk is common in Alzheimer s patients and is
recognized as a prominent feature in older individuals. Morphologic studies

Close To Jesus
How involved can a person be in ministry and still do not have a personal relationship with Jesus?
How close can someone be to Jesus and still not know Him? How close can someone be to the truth
and still do not believe it? How close can someone be to the gospel and still do not accept it? How
close can someone be to heaven and still not go in? How close can someone be to Jesusand then
give his heart to the devil? How much can you know about Jesus and still do not know Him. We
find the answer in Judas. Judas was one of the twelve disciples, he did ministry with Jesus, He ate
with Him, he traveled with Him, and he served with Him. He preached the Word and handled the
financial affairs of the group, yet in spite of his close access and personal... Show more content on

Here Jesus reveals news that must have shocked all the disciples including Judas. Truly I say to
you that one of you will betray Me, one who is eating with Me. When Jesus uses the word truly
remember it s a strong affirmation of what He is about to say. It means it is the truth.
In the next few verses I want us to see the contrast between Judas betrayal and the graciousness of
Jesus. The fact that Jesus makes this shocking comment indicates that He is not taken by surprise
at His impending betrayal. Verse 18 points to Psalm 41:9, Even My friend in whom I trusted, one
who ate My bread, has raised his heel against Me. Jesus is the fulfillment of this

The Problem Of Environmental Racism
In this paper, we are going to provide a quick overview of what environmental justice is and when
this phenomenon started to then analyze the dilemma of environmental racism in minorities
neighborhoods. At the same time we will try to present some solutions to the matter as well as
explain if we believe that this kind of social race problem could be addressed in a near future or it
will be ignored and forgotten by the new generations. The environmental justicemovement is tightly
related to the Civil Rights act created in 1964 and the work of Dr. Martin Luther King. Many
believe that the real origin of the movement was in Warren County, North Carolina when residents
protested about a landfill placed in their county causing some serious environmental pollution. After
this event, communities around the country mainly low income, reported similar impacts in their
neighborhood and land, making everyone aware of a new wave of racial discrimination, reason
enough to get the attention of human rightsactivists who promptly took action and a new political
agenda was created. The environmental movement main purpose is to seek change in the abuse
of decisions made by people in power to the disproportional exposure of color people and other
racial minorities to polluted air, soil and water causing long term health effects by allowing the
construction of waste or nuclear facilities in the same segregated area were poor people are
located. Based on the description above many

Essay on Gambling Addiction In Gen. Y
Gambling Addiction In Gen. Y
Gambling has become a growing issue concerning the generation y. According to a survey done by
Ctcclearing.com1, 80% of teenagers claimed to have gambled in some form. With a percentage that
large, is the problem simply that gambling is a right of passage or are teens more susceptible to the
temptations that casinos have.
The Addiction
Compulsive gambling is a disease among many people. The American Psychiatric Association
classifies compulsive gambling as an impulse control disorder. (MayoClinic) Which means
compulsive gamblers are people who cannot control the urge gambling. They don t set spending
limits and don t realize that they odds of winning are not in their favor ... Show more content on

Another problem from gambling is depression and drinking. Some compulsive gamblers drink to
forget their losses.
According to estimates from WebMd Health, 5 4 8% of teenagers are compulsive gamblers
compared to 1 2% for adults. Teenagers are prone gambling and other problems because they
have lower self esteem than adults do. It is harder for a teenager to admit defeat than it is for an
adult. An adult may lose $20 say it isn t my day and leave. A teenager may not accept the loss and
will try to win it back. This results in them loosing more money and the loss is harder to take.
The treatment of compulsive gamblers is a hard task. In (Gambling Without Guilt6 106) a quote
from Mohandas Gandhi on compulsive gambling In a way worse than the plague or the quake,
for it destroys the soul within. A person without a soul is a burden on the earth. No doubt war
against gambling is not so simple as war against plague and earthquake distress. ... To wean the
gambler from his vice is like weaning the drunkard from the drink habit. This war against gambling
is therefore an uphill task. The lines express the seriousness of the problems and they effort needed
to accomplish the task of freeing the gambler from the addiction.

The Qur An Analysis
In the battle for gender parity, those who stand guard at the gate posts of Muslim status quo have
sometimes reacted vehemently against claims for justice. (xviii) In this quote, Amina Wadud
highlights her quest for proving the Qur an is an ungendered text and discusses types of
reactions to her book Qur an and Women. Wadud s book, published in 1992, redefines the way
the Qur anic text views women and is the genesis of more scholarly works and discussions on the
topic of women. Wadud is the most influential woman scholar of the Qur an in history. Her
purpose is to solely look at the Qur anic text itself and not the hadith or Islamic traditions that have
evolved since it s revelation. She is clear to state that if the equality between males... Show more

She proves this through the discussion about the Arabic terms nafs and zawj. Nafs can be
translated to mean self, and though it holds a feminine gendering conceptually it can be seen as
neutral (19). Zawj is typically translated as spouse and though it holds a male gendering is also seen
as neutral (20). The Qur an states that a nafs was created and from that nafs its pair or zawj was
also created (22). Wadud emphasizes that the zawj highlights the pairing nature of the creation
story. Though the creation story does not have much material about the zawj, the duality of the
nafs and zawj as a pair is repeatedly emphasized in many verses (21). The Qur an does establish that
there is an intentional male/female pair yet it only difference it emphasizes is the biological
function of the mother (21 22). Therefore nafs and zawj cannot be translated to specifically mean a
male nafs and a female zawj (20). With this point Wadud argues that the creation story is gender
neutral and does not emphasize male

The World Is Flat by Thomas Friedman
The book, The World is Flat, by Thomas Friedman draws attention to some very good points
concerning globalization and the world economy today. Friedman emphasizes the status of
America today in relation to the other countries of the world. As I looked at the things in which he
warned about or highlighted, I realized the importance of this issue. He talks about a few aspects in
which need to be kept competitive in order for America to retain their current standing in the world
market.
First of all, Friedman talks about the different levels of globalization. There are 3 different time
periods in which the society has differed and changed, bringing us to where we are today.
Globalization 1.0, which took place from 1492 to 1800, was the ... Show more content on

This is the area in which I think Friedman s theory is slightly flawed. He seems to say that there
was almost no sort of international communication, relation, or business before the discovery of the
new world.
Following globalization 1.0 came 2.0. This was the time from 1800 to 2000. There were many
advances in this period that drastically changed the world in which we live today. Communication,
transportation, and growing trade markets influenced and brought us to multinational companies,
which greatly shrunk the world down to yet another smaller size.
Today, we are in the globalization 3.0 phase, in which communication (mostly through the Internet)
and transportation are at a level in which distance hardly poses any problem at all. Another very
large issue in this era is the concept of outsourcing. This is the idea that if an item can be produced
more cheaply outside of the company/region, it will be. The market will go to the cheapest source
of production.
Many of the countries or cultures that have been transformed by the flattening of the world have
been affected because of their upper hand through education. We as Americans have gotten used to
being elite over the years due to our high economic standing and educational excellence, but in
recent years, the educational agenda has increased in other countries, while America s education
has seemed to decline. This is an area in which we need to

The Chesapeake was slow to colonize due to severe illness, it was culturally known for its source of tobacco fields and its slave labor to keep the colonies crop growing, Chesapeake is also known as Chesapeake Bay which lead thousands of English immigrants to move to Virgina and Maryland to work in the tobacco fields. • 3. Benefits Of Genetic Modification The debate about genetic modification has been going on for a long time. On one hand, advocates for genetic modification believe that many diseases could be prevented and it would relieve many people from pain. On the other hand, many critics of genetic modification believe that it is unnatural or playing god. I am drawn to this issue because I believe genetic modification is going to be, if it isn t already, ubiquitous in our future. In my lifetime, 20 30 years from now, I will have to deal with the benefits and the possible ramifications of genetic modification. This issue is going to affect me directly and therefore I have chosen this topic. Genetic modification is already on the horizon and there is little anyone can do to stop this. Genetic modification should be allowed because it can relieve suffering, improve the quality of life and strengthen pharmaceuticals. but it obviously needs limitations and regulations. While genetic modification, can dramatically improve people s lives, it could have side effects if abused. It should be noted that genetic modification should only be used to cure or prevent serious diseases, there should be no enhancements. There is a fine line between preventative medicine and enhancements. An enhancement is changing something normal to make it extraordinary. Serious diseases would include all such ailments that infringes on a human beings quality of life and puts them through pain. Fatal diseases such as cystic fibrosis, cancer, ... • 4. David Snow Psychological Theory A psychological theory that can contribute to the explanation of David Snow and why he murdered and sexually assaulted individuals would be Freud s psychoanalytic theory. According to Freud, one is more likely to abide criminal behaviour when there is disruption during childhood psychosexual development (Brookman, 2005a). In addition to development interruption, having a weak conscious will coincide with the likelihood of criminal behaviour (Brookman, 2005a). The mind is comprised of the Id, Ego and Superego, and when there is a conflict of these three efforts to make decisions results in a weaker ability to make sufficient judgement (Brookman, 2005a). The Ego is supposed to reflect adequate judgement through learning upon poor urges that lead... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some of his signatures that was consistent and found through his victims and at the cottages were bondage and strangulation, and his military writings. These type of M.O. s do not occur very frequently as a tactic for death which eventually lead to the connection from Vancouver to Ontario. For example, strangulation only occurs in 38.6% of killings (Fox Levin, 2015) and the use of gags or blindfolds being 7.1% (Beauregard Martineau, 2012). It is also noteworthy Snow was described to be a very organized individual, which increases the likelihood of moving the victim s body after the crime (Beauregard Martineau, 2012), which was evident in the Blackburns deaths. Although these characteristics are uncommon, police were able to utilize his M.O. to determine links between the crimes and assisted in the identification of David Snow. Snow s victim s of the double murder were acquaintances as they were connected from Snow going to the Blackburn s farm to get items for his antique shop. According to Decker s article Exploring Victim offender Relationships in Homicide, approximately 46% of homicides are involved with acquaintances (Decker, 1993). As Snow escalated and the weekly victims occurred there was no evidence of knowing his victims, they were simply in a vulnerable position which he took advantage of. This discrepancy of victim ... • 5. Compare And Contrast Peare And George Washington Everybody knows something about the American Revolution. But how many people know about the eerily similar, yet drastically different Irish Easter Rising and subsequent revolution? Causes, leaders, battles, treaties, resolutions, and effects are a part of every country. Sometimes they are similar, and other times not, as is the case with America and Ireland. Padraig Pearse and George Washington were both elected commander in chief over armies. Neither of them had ever commanded large armies before, although Washington had commanded squadrons. They both also lost more battles than they won. However, the similarities mostly end here. The outcome was the most different. Washington won, after a long struggle. Pearse eventually surrendered, saving countless lives.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many of the Irish leaders were writers, poets, or scholars with little to no military training. In contrast, the Americans had a lot of trained and capable leaders. These drastically different leaders had drastically different effects on the Revolutions. Washington s unique military tactics won the American Revolution, starting when he had the idea to cross the Delaware. And Pearse, although he lost, went down in history for his bravery when faced with insurmountable odds. One of Pearse s most famous quotes reads They think that they have pacified Ireland. They think that they have purchased half of us and intimidated the other half. They think they have foreseen everything, think that they provided against everything; but the fools, the fools, the fools! they have left us our Fenian dead, and while Ireland holds these graves, Ireland unfree shall never be at peace. This quote meant much more after the executions of sixteen Irish rebel commandants than it did when it was first said at Jeremiah O Donovan Rossa s funeral. It gave hope to young revolutionaries and incited rebellion against ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. My First Year Of Life Essay I was born on September 29th 1994 in San Buenaventura, Mexico. A small town that would remain foreign to me until the age of 21. My mom s and dad s relationship was complicated and structured on the submissive/dominant dynamic most Mexican families have. My dad illegally came to the United States around my second year of life. My mom followed him by obtaining a work visa. She followed him blindly as she was so in love and so lost without him. My mom left me behind but sent for me a few weeks later. I entered as someone else. My uncle and aunt had a baby around the same age as me and genetics made my cousin and I look similar enough that boarder patrol didn t question my identity any further. I left behind faint memories of my people and the place that raised me. In the Unites States my family united and we welcomed my little brother, Daniel into the world. Daniel became my dad s pride and my mom s prince and I became the dutiful daughter and sister. Since I was brought to the United States at the age of two I grew up believing I was a born and raised American. I grew pride in this country and I felt proud to call this place my home. I was basically raised as an American with Mexican influences coming only from my family. Even though I am Mexican I became more influenced by American culture. I was an avid reader and many of the stories I read where about blue eye girls with blonde hair and their perfect families. I grew up influenced by these stories and I desperately wanted ... • 7. My Field Placement Will Be At Child Protective Services Essay Introduction My field placement will be at Child protective services in El Paso TX. The department of child Protective Services withholds a wide range of services and responsibilities that include, investigating reports of abuse and neglect of children, provide services to children and families in their homes, providing services to help youth in foster care successfully transition to adulthood and helping children find adoption. There are many subdivisions within the department itself which offers different amenities during an open case with CPS, although these services solely justify the department, there is a unit known as Family Based Services or also FBSS which focuses on resources that will strengthen the family s privation in order to ensure child safety and wellbeing. The Department predominantly benefits from task groups rather than treatment groups, because the department is on deadlines with each individual case, a treatment group would not benefit for the departments ultimate value which is Family Reunification. If the department is involved with a family for too long this may cause emotional distress on the children as well as the family. Every year in the United States, more than one out of every hundred children are victims of substantiated child abuse and neglect. For instance, in 2006, 3.6 million cases of child maltreatment were investigated, which is a rate of 47.8 per 1,000 children. In that year, nearly 1 million maltreatment claims were substantiated ... Hitler spread lies about the jews say the jews were greedy and were the reason for Germany s economic troubles. Adolf Hitler created a fascist politics in Germany known as the Nazi Party. Hitler claimed that Germany should taken from Germany by the Treaty of versailles. The third Reich in power at the beginning of 1938, Hitler s attention turned once more to Austria and the formal agreement on 11 July 1936 and on that date he urged caution on the Austrian Nazis, not waiting to cause international alarm and was Reich Chancellor on 3 February 1938 he asked friesh to resign. Adolf Hitler is who caused me to leave my hometown of Germany and immigrated to America. As I am Jewish, Hitler made Germany an unsafe place for me. He mass murdered 6,000,000 Jews in Germany during the Holocaust. He was truly a terrible man. On April 20, 1889 Adolf Hitler was born. He was not always so crude as we know him now. He really became mean when his younger brother Edmund died, changing his perspective of life. This was the start of the terrible Hitler we remember today. From that day on, Hitler transformed into a morose, sullen boy who was constantly fighting with his father, who he didn t have a very good relationship with. Hitler s childhood affected how he acted later in life. However, it wasn t just Hitler s childhood that turned him into a bad man. Hitler made some very wrong choices as an adult. As chancellor, ... Our class relates to this video because they talk a lot about community and being able to connect to another, I think our class connects us to others we generally would not associate with. They talk about when the Fania All Stars would perform the energy from both the stage and the audience was tremendous and people did not want to sit, I think this relates to our class because before the class even starts people are dancing trying to further perfect the way they dance. Our classroom reminds me of the Palladium Ballroom, we go to class expecting to dance and have a good time just like those who went to the Palladium. The combination of higher clock speed, greater functional integration and smaller process geometries has marked their contribution to significant growth in power density. Scaling improvises the transistor in 65nm and below density and functionality on a chip. It helps to increase speed and frequency operation, hence giving a higher performance. As voltage scales downward with geometries, threshold voltages must also decrease to gain the performance advantages of the new technology but leakage technology increases exponentially. Thinner gate oxides have led to an increase in gate leakage current. Today, leakage power has become an increasingly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also, the dynamic range is degraded by these strict limitations. Upwards, the dynamic range is lowered due to the reduced signal headroom as a result of reduced supply voltage. Downwards, the dynamic range is limited by larger noise voltages due to curtailed supply currents. The only way to make the operational amplifier survive the trend towards lower supply voltages without weakening its characteristics, is by developing very efficient operational amplifier topologies that combine low voltage and low power operation and be as simple as possible to save die area, in its contemporary sense. In this thesis, we design and analyses different design approach of operational amplifier circuits using power gating technique and MTCMOS leakage reduction techniques. Both these techniques are very effective for reducing leakage power and group delay, increasing gain margin in electronic devices. Here, power gating technique is used to reduce leakage power, group delay and increase gain and phase margin. We reduce the leakage current in stand mode and ground bounce noise in sleep to active mode transition. In MTCMOS technique, high VTH devices are used on non critical paths to reduce static leakage power without incurring delay penalty. If we reduce the leakage current and delay, ground bounce noise of circuit will increase circuit reliability. On the other hand, when a power gating technique works in standby mode, the switch transistor is turned OFF, which disconnects the logic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Computerized Provider Order Entry Adoption and Usage rate Because the system is capable of advancing quality of care in numerous ways, the healthcare service providers have been considering to implement the technology in their institutions since the system has been commercially available in the market place since 2006 (Ford, McAlenrney, Phillips, Menachemi, and Rudolph, 2008). Although a good number of institutions have been analyzing the possibility of adopting the system, until recently, it was estimated that only 5% of U.S. hospitals had the system in operation (American Hospital Association Archive). Another study, a 2003 report from First Consulting Group for the American Hospital Association and the Federation of American Hospitals, says that an estimated 5% of American hospitals used CPOE in 2002. Moreover, a report found that the amount of U.S. hospitals with completely available CPOE system was estimated only 9.6% in 2002 [Ash et al, 2004]. Another report from the Leapfrog Group titled Healthcare Benchmarks and Quality Improvement has estimated that about 10% of all U.S. hospitals would have completed CPOE implementationby the end of 2006 [Ash et al, 2004]. Add a transition clause here, according to the Leapfrog Group CPOE evaluation tool, it was reported that a mere 8% U.S. hospitals were using the system (Anderson, 2009) 120. • 12. Divine Command Theory And The Euthyphro Dilemma The divine command theory is the view in which, what is right is what God commands, and what is wrong is what God forbids (Holt). The divine command theory brings morality and religion together in a way that provides a solution to arguments such as, moral relativism and the objectivity of ethics. A philosopher named Plato created The EuthyphroDilemma, which was created from the dialogue from Socrates and Euthyphro (Holt). The Euthyphro Dilemma can be stated: Is an action morally good because Godcommands it, or does God command it because it is morally good? (Holt). An individual might be more open to take a step back from the divine command theoryand look at it to be something external to God. The ethical implications of this argument... William of Ockham who was a philosopher of the medieval time period, stated that the actions which we call stealing and adultery would be mandatory for us if God commanded us to do them (Mastin). Most people who follow philosophical views find this to be an unacceptable viewpoint of moral obligation. This objection shows that any theory of ethics can leave open the possibility that such actions are morally admirable are critically flawed (Mastin). In 1987, an analytic philosopher named Robert Adams pointed out that William of Ockham s view emphasized that it is a mere logical possibility that God could command to commit adultery, stealing, or killing and is not a real possibility (Holt). From this even if it is logically possible that God could command to commit adultery, stealing, etc., it is not something that God will do, given his place in the actual world. From the overall objection from the William of Ockham view, I do not think he would be prepared to enforce suffering on individuals even if God told us to do it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hematopoiesis is a process where Hemocytoblast stem cells differentiate into a range of progenitor cells. Part of the developmental process for these progenitor cells occurs in the spleen, liver and lymph nodes. In ALL, clonal cells then take up space within the bloodstream, causing the percentage of normal blood constituents to be out of balance. Some of his famous works include his debut novel, Less Than Zero (1985), and his opus, American Psycho (1991), which are household names for any literary or cinematic buff. Although the man behind the mask may not be identifiable by all, almost everybody knows the name Patrick Bateman, and recognizes the famous role played by actor Christian Bale. Although Ellis literary prose might lead you to believe he was a dedicated scholar, his extracurricular activities would definitely prove you wrong. The success of his first book provided him with enough momentum to release his second novel, American Psycho. Although this would become known as his most famous work, at the time it made him a leper to the literary population. The level of violence and brutality caused people to condemn his work, and it wasn t really until the movie adaptation that it gained acclaim. After that his career skyrocketed. • 16. The Clean Water Act ( Cwa ) In 1972 the Clean Water Act (CWA) was passed, and it established the infrastructure for waste water management in the U.S. The CWA s main objective is to recover and preserve the physical, biological, and chemical purity of water. The CWA formed a program that would ensure communities had clean water by limiting the exposure of contaminants in U.S. waterways. Waste water treatment is essential to the world because it gives people ability to use streams and rivers for swimming, fishing and drinking water. In the early part of the 20th century, pollution in the U.S. urban waterways caused negative side effects like fish kills, low dissolved oxygen, bacterial contamination, and algal blooms. Early attempts of controlling water pollutionkept human waste from contaminating water supplies or reduced floating junk that hindered shipping. Problems with Pollution and control were mainly local concerns. Industrial and population growth have increased the requirement for natural resources, changing the situation drastically. Advancements in decreasing pollution can hardly keep in front of the increase in population, development of technology, adjustments in industrial processes, business breakthroughs, increased land use, and several other factors. The growth in both the variety and quantity of goods manufactured has greatly altered the size and complexity of waste produced by industries and it challenges standard treatment technology. Without them, people would not be as likely to purchase every new fad that comes their way, and corporations would be wasting their money on products people were nervous to buy. For example, if you were used to using one particular type of cat food because you know your cat enjoys eating it, how likely would you be to switch the food? Probably not very likely, due to the fact that you had already looked at the nutrition facts, the price, and the seafood taste that cats are sure to love. Now, what if you received a ten dollar off coupon (for cat food that only costs twelve dollars). What would you do? Would you reconsider the food you were going to buy that week because of this coupon? Maybe the new food is just as good now that you are really thinking about it, and it only is going to cost a total of two dollars, so no harm done if you go ahead and make the purchase. This is exactly what a good salespromotion does to consumers, it makes them take a second look at their buying choices, and hopefully convinces them that it would be a good idea to try their product. • 19. Review Of Eric Remarque s All Quiet On The Western Front Death is not the only thing to come out of war. Eric Remarque wanted to show us the facts about war and he did but he also showed us three things that happen in war with emotions. In this essay I will go over three things that come out of war other than death which is betrayal, horror, and friendship. To begin with, betrayal is a strong emotion that can lead to hatred and more emotions. Kantorek talks the boys into joining the warbecause he thought that it would be fun and a good experience for them. Another way of betrayal can be the unspoken kind like how when the boys first go to the front they find coffins and they think that the government has little hopes for people to survive. The final way of betrayal is physical betrayal like when the boys beat up Himmelstoss just because they did not like how he treated them. For all those reasons is why I think that betrayal is a strong emotion that can overwhelm someone with hate.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 20. What Is The Theme Of The Lady s Last Cake By William Hogarth The Lady s Last Stake was painted by William Hogarth in 1759 for the First Earl of Charlemont, James Caulfield. The size of the painting itself is smaller than I expected The medium of this painting is oil on canvas. The advantage of using oil paint on canvas is that the paint is wet longer and makes the paintingappear to be shiny. However, by using oil paintHogarth had to follow certain rules so that the painting would not go brittle as quickly. The painting itself appears to be unified with no chaos depicted. There is radial balance starting where the man and the woman are painted and moves out from there. In this painting Hogarth uses lines to emphasize a horizontal direction. This is accomplished through invisible lines. The man that is depicted in the painting is looking towards the object the woman rests her hand upon. This creates an obvious invisible line and establish the focal point of the painting. The emphasis in this painting is placed on the woman. The woman proves to be the focal point in this artwork because she is wearing a vibrant gold dress and is placed in the center of the painting. The man leans towards her and is looking in her direction. Hogarth creates a sense of intrigue in making the woman the focal point of the painting. The male figure gaze also establishes a psychological line. Most of the lines Hogarth uses are thin and precise. In the painting Hogarth depicts light using a three part window. The artist allows the viewer to have a glimpse ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 21. Persuasive Essay About Food Bank Food banks are a terrible solution to a terrible issue. Hunger is one of the biggest issues the human race experiences. One in nine people in the world, or 795 million people, out of the 7.4 billion people go hungry every day because they do not have enough to eat. Every 10 seconds, a child dies from hunger related diseases (The Hunger Project, 2017). The way lots of organizations try to help these people in need are through food banks. A food bankis a non profit, charitable organization that distributes to those who have difficulty purchasing enough food to avoid hunger. Food banks are inefficient in aspects of time, money, and effort because so much more can be done through donations of money, not non perishable foods and items.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another issue arises though, it needs to be transported from the warehouse to the appropriate drop off place, which is most likely in a high density residential area, not an industrial area. The time it takes for all this to happen is simply too much and non efficient. We are in an era where time is valuable. Everyone is so busy with their lives, be it for work, school, family, or hobbies, it is unnecessary to spend all this time just to donate something that not even the buyer would eat. To show an example, let s say a donator s name is David. David works a 9 5 job which pays $20 per hour and has three kids, two of which have swimming practice after school. David picks up his kids at 5:30, and goes home right in time for dinner. On his dinner table, he has high quality foods that are packed with nutrients. David remembers there s a food drive raffle near his workplace that is looking for donations for a chance to win a grand prize. David now has to go out of his way to go to a grocery store to buy non perishable foods. Instead of wasting his time going, he can go to the food bank and simply donate money. If David was planning on spending $5 and 45 minutes for the whole process, from purchasing the items to dropping them off, he actually spent $20 plus a few extra dollars for gas. Instead of wasting 45 minutes of his time to get $5 worth of food, he could easily have donated $25, which go a long way. This will be explained later, but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The study was restricted to publically listed Investment Banks and Mutual Funds and the model was not applicable to privately held and boutique banks and also wasn t applicable to hedge funds and other private funds which did not report their Net Asset Value Returns. According to the findings, the economic mass was highest for Goldman Sachs while Toronto Domino Bank shows the least economic mass. When it comes to Mutual Funds, Pimco the world s largest mutual fund had the lowest economic mass; the exposure to the crisis could be the reason behind this. The American Funds Growth Fund of America has the highest economic mass. This study has been able to show that the Heisenberg s Uncertainty Principle has implications for financial institutions. By choosing to depict acts in which he took part and from his point of view Mailer is able to make the validity of his statements implicit he actually saw what he is writing about. At the same time though, questions of how much Mailer s bias is affecting the novel are raised. Mailer is able to address these questions of possible bias by making it exceedingly obvious when his bias is at play. As Hellmann notes, Calling himself the Novelist and self consciously using the contrivances of novelistic form, Mailer makes us view the facts of his work as both reliable (in that we are fully shown their source in his firsthand observation) and doubtful (in that we are constantly reminded that they result merely from such observation) (39). Instead of trying to hide this bias, Mailer uses it to further strengthen his work. An example of Mailer s use of bias is in his description of the US Marshals he saw while waiting on the bus which would take him to prison, he begins with their faces are considerably worse than he had expected and they had the kind of faces which belong to bad guys in a Western (150). It s easy to, in all honesty, because we have been raised in a society in which education has been held at the utmost importance. In the United States women are held at an equal level with men, we ve fought for this sense of equality for several years and unfortunately, not all women across the world have had that same success. Women from other countries do not have half of the rights that we do here in the United States, and this is something that we seem to never really think about. Saudi Arabiais just one of the many countries around the world in which the women do not have as many rights as men do. Being a feminist at heart with a hunger for education, it piqued my interest to research the rights of women and education in Saudi Arabia. If I m being honest, I had expected it to be much worse than it is, yet it could be so much better at the same time. Saudi women should have every right to educate themselves in any aspect they want, and though they have fought their way to gaining some leverage, there are still necessary steps that need to be taken. • 41. The Effect Of The Reformation On The Roman Catholic Church The Effect of the Reformation on the Roman Catholic Church The Roman Catholic Church grew from an outlawed and persecuted religion to a well organized and powerful ruling body in the western world. After the death of Jesus of Nazareth his disciples begin to spread his teachings of love and salvation through a single God. However, early Christians quickly became seen as a threat to the most powerful Empire at the time; Rome. Being monotheistic they refused to offer sacrifice to state ran cults and as pacifist they refused to join the army. The Roman Empires power laid in both the military and taxation so early Christians became the targets of persecution. In 64 CE Rome declares Christianityillegal and it remained so for almost three hundred years. However, Christianity doesn t die and when Emperor Constantine made Christianity legal with the Edict of Milan 313 the church grew quickly. Later Emperor Theodosius declares Catholic Christianity the official religion of Rome and bans paganism. Socially it controlled the everyday lives of people and played a major role in the governing of those same people. Thanks to this the church also wielded tremendous governing power. However, this all changed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Initially, the nurse manager should allow all parties involved an opportunity to explain their position. This projects an authentic interest and commitment to fairness on the part of the manager, as the manager attempts to reframe the conflict into a productive outcome. Not all conflict needs to be addressed. Small, minor squabbles can sometimes be left to extinguish on their own, this is using the avoiding technique. However, minor squabbles that draw the attention and added investment of others may fan the flames of conflict and require an intervention by the nurse manager. Accommodation is another technique used in conflict management. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In spite of these facts, at an earlier stage in the business, Silas had taken up a partner, Mr. Rogers, to help him financially, and then forced him out before he could make any profit. This move appears to be the first immoral business choice in the career of Silas Lapham. It forces him to be dishonest not only to himself, but to his wife, by driving him to lie about and cover up his inner feelings about what he had done. Although he states that he has a clear conscience concerning the whole affair, he cannot so much as speak directly to the man during a chance meeting on the street. He shies away from the awkward situation entirely, leaving his wife to contend with the betrayed former partner. Silas attempts to reconcile his deceiving Rogers by calling it a business chance, but his wife refutes by stating, It was no chance at all. You crowded him out. A man that saved you! • 47. The Problem Of Environmental Racism In this paper, we are going to provide a quick overview of what environmental justice is and when this phenomenon started to then analyze the dilemma of environmental racism in minorities neighborhoods. At the same time we will try to present some solutions to the matter as well as explain if we believe that this kind of social race problem could be addressed in a near future or it will be ignored and forgotten by the new generations. The environmental justicemovement is tightly related to the Civil Rights act created in 1964 and the work of Dr. Martin Luther King. Many believe that the real origin of the movement was in Warren County, North Carolina when residents protested about a landfill placed in their county causing some serious environmental pollution. After this event, communities around the country mainly low income, reported similar impacts in their neighborhood and land, making everyone aware of a new wave of racial discrimination, reason enough to get the attention of human rightsactivists who promptly took action and a new political agenda was created. The environmental movement main purpose is to seek change in the abuse of decisions made by people in power to the disproportional exposure of color people and other racial minorities to polluted air, soil and water causing long term health effects by allowing the construction of waste or nuclear facilities in the same segregated area were poor people are located. • 49. The Qur An Analysis In the battle for gender parity, those who stand guard at the gate posts of Muslim status quo have sometimes reacted vehemently against claims for justice. (xviii) In this quote, Amina Wadud highlights her quest for proving the Qur an is an ungendered text and discusses types of reactions to her book Qur an and Women. Wadud s book, published in 1992, redefines the way the Qur anic text views women and is the genesis of more scholarly works and discussions on the topic of women. Wadud is the most influential woman scholar of the Qur an in history. Her purpose is to solely look at the Qur anic text itself and not the hadith or Islamic traditions that have evolved since it s revelation. She is clear to state that if the equality between males... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She proves this through the discussion about the Arabic terms nafs and zawj. Nafs can be translated to mean self, and though it holds a feminine gendering conceptually it can be seen as neutral (19). Zawj is typically translated as spouse and though it holds a male gendering is also seen as neutral (20). The Qur an states that a nafs was created and from that nafs its pair or zawj was also created (22). Wadud emphasizes that the zawj highlights the pairing nature of the creation story. Though the creation story does not have much material about the zawj, the duality of the nafs and zawj as a pair is repeatedly emphasized in many verses (21). The Qur an does establish that there is an intentional male/female pair yet it only difference it emphasizes is the biological function of the mother (21 22). Therefore nafs and zawj cannot be translated to specifically mean a male nafs and a female zawj (20). With this point Wadud argues that the creation story is gender neutral and does not emphasize male ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 50. The World Is Flat by Thomas Friedman The book, The World is Flat, by Thomas Friedman draws attention to some very good points concerning globalization and the world economy today. Friedman emphasizes the status of America today in relation to the other countries of the world. As I looked at the things in which he warned about or highlighted, I realized the importance of this issue. He talks about a few aspects in which need to be kept competitive in order for America to retain their current standing in the world market. First of all, Friedman talks about the different levels of globalization. There are 3 different time periods in which the society has differed and changed, bringing us to where we are today. Globalization 1.0, which took place from 1492 to 1800, was the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is the area in which I think Friedman s theory is slightly flawed. He seems to say that there was almost no sort of international communication, relation, or business before the discovery of the new world. Following globalization 1.0 came 2.0. This was the time from 1800 to 2000. There were many advances in this period that drastically changed the world in which we live today. Communication, transportation, and growing trade markets influenced and brought us to multinational companies, which greatly shrunk the world down to yet another smaller size. Today, we are in the globalization 3.0 phase, in which communication (mostly through the Internet) and transportation are at a level in which distance hardly poses any problem at all. Another very large issue in this era is the concept of outsourcing. This is the idea that if an item can be produced more cheaply outside of the company/region, it will be. The market will go to the cheapest source of production. Many of the countries or cultures that have been transformed by the flattening of the world have been affected because of their upper hand through education.
