Homosexuality in Malaysia
ISSUES RELATED TO HOMOSEXUALITY IN MALAYSIA
Recently, there are many issues about homosexuality had occurred. For example Seksualiti Merdeka
or Sexuality Independence . Seksualiti Merdeka is an annual sexuality rights festival held in Kuala
Lumpur, Malaysia. It features a programme of talks, forums, workshops, art, theatre and music
performances, interactive installations, and film screenings, organised by a coalition of Malaysian
NGOs, artists and individuals. Its aims are to affirm sexuality rights as a human right, to empower
individuals and communities of all sexualities and to create platforms for advocacy of sexuality rights.
Seksualiti Merdeka was launched in 2008 by a network of artists and activists advocating for the ...

Should the ban on Seksualiti Merdeka not be reversed, the matter can be expected to be taken up by
countries at the Human Rights Council in the future.
The Malaysian government also should ensure the safety of human rights defenders such as former
Bar Council president Ambiga Sreenevasan, who has faced severe verbal attacks since it was revealed
that she was scheduled to preside over the opening session of Seksualiti Merdeka. Perkasa and other
groups have labeled Ambiga as an antichrist, impugned her patriotism, called for her Malaysian
citizenship to be stripped, and demanded she be detained in preventive detention under the Internal
Security Act.
FACTOR LEADS TO HOMOSEXUALITY
Most researchers agree that homosexuality is multi causal and complex; many factors contribute to the
development of same sex attraction. They also believe that the homosexuality has nothing to do with
the biological or genetic. If homosexual impulses are not inherited, what kinds of influences do cause
strong homosexual desires? Some researchers believe that causes of homosexuality include the
individual, family, society and media.
Individual

is a first sexual experience or with an adult. So, they

The Current Uk Animal Welfare
The current UK animal welfare legislations and their objectives are:
¬ Animal Welfare Act 2006
This Act has for the first time introduced legislation for pet owners meaning that the owners have a
legal duty of care to meet the five welfare needs of their pets. The welfare needs are also known as the
five freedoms and they are the basic needs of any animal. The law also applies to people who are
responsible for animals, such as breeders and those who keep working animals. (APGAW. No Date)
¬ The Performing Animals (Regulations) Act 1925
This Act regulates the training and exhibition of performing animals as it requires trainers and
exhibitors of those animals to be registered with the local authority. The premises where animals are
being trained and exhibited can be entered by the police and officers of local authority, which may
include a vet. If the police or the local authority detects cruelty or neglect of the animals the
magistrates court can prohibit or restrict the training or exhibition of the animals and suspend or
cancel the trainers or exhibitor s registration. (APGAW. No Date)
¬ Pet Animals Act 1951
This legislation protects the welfare of animals which are sold as pets. The Act requires anyone
keeping a pet shop to be licenced by the local authority. The local authority must check that the
animals are kept in a clean and suitable accommodation; are supplied with appropriate food and drink;
and are protected from fire and disease before granting a licence. The

Pythagoras Essay
Pythagoras
My name is Pythagoras of Samos. I believe I should win the fabulous two week cruise on the
incomparable Argo because I dedicated my life to educating and caring for the future generations. I
risked my life to share my knowledge with anyone who wanted to learn. I was born on the island of
Samos, but lived most of my life in Crotona, Italy. When I was a young man, I traveled to many
different places to observe the different lifestyles and cultures. Some of the countries I visited were
India, Egypt, and Persia (Bulfinch). After viewing many different aspects of life I developed my
philosophies and beliefs. My most important philosophy is that almost everything in life can be

I am most famous for discovering the Pythagorean Theorem, which solves the length of the
hypotenuse of a right triangle. Use the equation a² + b² = c², where a and b are the two sides forming
the right angle to solve c which is the hypotenuse (Bruce E. Meserve 46). If I could meet a Greek god
or goddess I would undoubtedly choose Apollo. Apollo has many great characteristics and I think we
could be good friends if we talked with each other. One reason why I want to meet him is because I
am interested in seeing what he looks like. In books they say he is the most beautiful god represented
by the color gold. He also has a golden chariot with golden horses which I want to ride. Another
reason is that he is the god of things that I m interested in like music, mathematics, and medicine
(Bernard Evslin 37). He is also a very thoughtful and kindhearted god. The main reason I want to meet
him is that he owns an oracle that can tell the future and even though I have clairvoyant powers at this
moment, I want to ask him if he will let me borrow his oracle just in case if I lose my powers (Ellen
Switzer 26). I asked the Oracle of Mother Earth to tell me how modern Greece was dealing with its
current political problems. She said that Greece s prime minister was trying to resolve the Kosovo
problem by talking with both political forces. The prime minister felt that fighting and war was not the

The Impact Of Capital Markets
Capital Markets applies many IT practices to benefit the day to day activity and attempt to combat the
issues that arise regarding their immense volume of work and data, along with their source constraint.
For starters, they implement The OutSystems Platform, a custom PaaS, to develop their enterprise web
and mobile applications. This helps them streamline the process of developing applications and
mobile content while easily editing and altering these applications as well. On top of this, Capital
Markets utilizes data marts to orient their data to specific business lines and teams given their

Mr. Spain and his team also have communicated with the rest of Regions Bank that as more secure
hurricane averse building structures or modifications come out, they will improve their facilities to
ensure their safety and the safety of their company the next time a hurricanes hits one of their major
locations. The importance of having these plans in place for a company as big as Regions Bank
already is the mitigation of negative publicity for their firm. Their business continuity plan and
disaster recovery make certain that Regions Bank and all of its other entities will be ready to deal with
disasters and accidents easily and effectively. Just as mitigating risks can affect the IT practices of a
company, the place where a business stores its data holds major significance in an era in which the
majority of work is done online. A business has two main options: it can store its data in a data center
or in a cloud. A data center is an onsite hardware that stores a business information on a local network.
On the other hand, a cloud is an off site location where a service provider owns and manages
infrastructure with cloud users, accessing slices of shared hardware resources via the Internet . Each of
these options serve different purposes and benefit or disadvantage a company in different ways. For
example, a data center is more suitable for companies that run many applications; however, it has a

A Narrative Essay On Cerberus
Stephanie looked the turian female over and did her best to work out just who she was looking at. The
metal implants on the side of her head, temporarily obscured by her long brown hair, they did assist
her in working with who was directly in front of her but with people like this mystery woman,
Stephanie didn t really need them. She could spot anxious a mile away and while the turian s
faceplates weren t as expressive as the average salarian or human, she could almost smell it on her.
Deciding to go for sickly sweet charming as opposed to the rough, gruff exchange she was going to

Brave New World Literary Devices
In the book, Brave New World, the author, Aldous Huxley, creates and alternated world in the 1930 s
to show us how political and society were during that year. There was a lot of cruel, violence,
segregations compare to the world in BNW. He also uses many literary devices to tell use what his
society looks like during the 1930 s. During this time the WWii was going on and this was a big deal
to the world because there was a lot of dramas and other dangerous things going on. Some of those
devices are simile, details, metaphor...
One major event was people being considerate about others instead on themselves. One of the literary
devices that Aldous Huxley uses is metaphor to give us a description of what is happening to Lenina
and how she acts, also help her remind her who the real Lenina is. Lenina liked the drums. Shutting
her eyes she abandoned herself to their soft repeated thunder, allowed it to invade her consciousness
more and more completely, till at last there was nothing left in the world but that one deep pulse of
sound. It reminded her reassuringly of the synthetic noises made at Solidarity Services and Ford s Day
celebrations. Orgy porgy, she whispered to herself.
These drums beat out just the same rhythms (107 8). Lenina is thinking deep about herself and what
she is really like. She also think about her inner self and listening to the repeated beats over and over it
reminds her of the Solidarity Services. Aldous Huxley is comparing this to today s

The Discovery Of Mount Everest
Over nine thousand people died and thousands were displaced when an earthquake with a magnitude
of 8.1 hit Nepal in April 2015. Consequently, this earthquake triggered the deadliest event in the
history of Mount Everest when an avalanche killed 19 people two weeks later (1). This tragedy was
caused by two pieces of the planet s crust that have been colliding for millions of years now.
Moreover, this collision is based on the scientific theory of plate tectonics that cases the large scale
motion of the planet s lithosphere. The same theory also explains how Mount Everest, a part of the
Himalayas, was affected. Nepal s seismic nature and the Himalayas are connected through the
collision of the Indian Plate and the Eurasian plate. First and foremost, plate tectonic theory deals with
the idea that lithospheric plates or tectonic plates move around the crust. Tectonic plates are slabs of
the Earth s lithosphere which is a combination of the crust and uppermost mantle. The lithosphere is
characterized by its rigid and cooler nature. On the other hand, the asthenosphere is hotter and more
viscous and lies beneath the lithosphere. Together, the lithosphere and the asthenosphere makes up the
outer layers of the Earth. These two layers are really important because the rigid pieces of the
lithosphere ride on the viscosity of the asthenosphere (2). As previously mentioned, the Nepal
earthquake was caused collision of these plates and it has numerous underlying factors that started

William Shakespeare s Hamlet And King Lear
American literary critic Harold Bloom, known for his love of Shakespeare said, Shakespeare is
universal... he has hidden himself behind all of these extraordinary men and women. Shakespeare is
able to connect with many who encounter his work by creating a range of characters such as heroes in
the form of Hamlet or villains in that of Claudius. Playwright William Shakespeare s Hamlet and King
Lear demonstrate the manipulation of family to achieve one s ends. Personal gain through family is a
significant contributing factor to both of these tragedies. Their gifts of language and its delivery is a
clear example as well as these villains having no qualms about ignoring morals, and betraying their
own blood. Despite the tragic endings, there is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the same time, he tries to establish his role as a father figure to Hamlet while addressing the Danish
Court, and informing them of his marriage to his brother s widow. Tis unmanly grief/ It shows a will

Than that which dearest father bears his son (Hamlet 1.2.94 96, 110 111). Claudius calls Hamlet s
grieving unmanly and urges him to move on, because death is only natural. Moreover, he insultingly
claims to feel the most honourable love that a father can have for his son.
In comparison, the main plot in King Lear starts to develop quickly from the beginning when Lear
holds a contest for his daughters. He claims that whichever one of them loves him the most will
receive the biggest piece of the kingdom upon his retirement. Regan and Goneril, seizing an
opportunity for power, are quick to flatter their father with the empty words they know he is seeking. I
love you more than word can wield the matter;/ Dearer than eyesight, space and liberty;/ ... Beyond all

father that words alone can never express her love. She says that she loves him more than those
comparisons she has made. Not to be outdone, Regan has her chance at claiming that her love for Lear

Drugs And Its Effects On The Field Of Medicine And...
The chirality of drugs has become important to understand in the field of medicine and pharmacology
today. Asymmetric approaches have been under investigation to synthesize chiral centers or separate
enantiomers of chiral molecules using chemical catalysts or enantioselective enzymes. With this is in
mind, the experiment performed in lab today exhibits the use of an enzyme catalyzed reduction to
fashion a chiral center. In this experiment, the enzymatic asymmetric reduction of 1 phenyl 1,2
propanedione (dione) was performed using Saccharomyces cerevisiae, baker s yeast, to produce (1R,

In the 90 minute reaction, the reaction was run to completion and TLC was conducted to analyze the
final product. In the 50 minute reaction, aliquots of the of the reaction mixture was obtained every 15
minutes to analyze the reagents and induce the progress of the reaction. To begin the first experiment,
the diketone was prepared by the addition of 1 phenyl 1,2 propandione into the reaction flask
containing baker s yeasts and water. A TLC plate was spotted with the starting reagent, the diketone,
and the chamber was developed using a 6:4 solvent combination of cyclohexane and t BME
respectively. The diketone s polarity was observed from the distance it traveled up the TLC plate, and
this distance was near the solvent front with an Rf value of __________________. At the end of the
90 minute experiment, the second TLC plate was obtained for the product, the diol, using the same
solvent combination to develop the TLC chamber. The diol s polarity was predicted to be much more
polar than the starting material due to its stronger intermolecular forces, such as hydrogen bonding.
For this reason, the diol s spot showed up closer to the origin and farther away from the solvent front
in contrast to the diketone. The Rf values demonstrate this as the diol had a relatively smaller Rf value
of _____________ compared to the diketone s Rf value of ___________. Continuing the

The Psychology of Religion
In terms of the psychology of religion, many thinkers have commented about the origins of religious
belief. Some of these support these religious beliefs, some don t. However it is first appropriate to
establish whether or not they are actually making a valid comment on the subject of religion or not.
Georg Hegel (1770 1831) was the initial scholar to step foot into this field. He redefined God by
creating a character he often named Spirit . He attempted to make God sound theistic by giving God a
mind. In some passages, this mind was made to resemble the transcendent mind of Christianity s
theistic God, although some interpreters recognised that Spirit s mind was actually nothing but the
collective psyche of man. For this reason, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
William James pragmatism hypothesis stems from religion s efficacy. If an individual believes in and
performs religious activities, and those actions happen to work, then that practice appears the proper
choice for said individual. However, if no, there is no rationality to continue with the action. It is
possible that James was influenced but Epicurus two sovereign masters .
In terms of critiques of w. James, he does not attempt to prove or disprove that God exiles, so his work
is ambiguous and leaves his working assumptions unexplored. Also, his work focused solely on
mystical experiences and avoided the kind of public religious experiences Swinburne would later
consider. And, is pragmatism a good basis for religion? It ignores the religious teaching of the efficacy
of suffering to transform the character of the believer. For religion suffering is not the issue but sin.
James never defines what he means by God and this casts doubt on the significance of describing
mystical experiences.

The Birds Analysis
Alfred Hitchcock, who is known as the master of suspense, has directed six movies after Psycho.
None of the six movies is more successful and suspenseful than Psycho, however, according to Cole
Smithey, The Birds is more sophisticated film, and combines forward thinking special effects with an
unconventional soundscape to instill a palpable lurking fear in the audience (par.3). The movie is
based on a short story by an English author Daphne du Maurier focuses on flocks of birds attack
people in Bodega Bay in California.
Hitchcock s film techniques inspire directors in modern films and assist them in creating movies using
several techniques simulate Hitchcockian techniques to establish suspense. The sixth sense (1999)
Movie is directed and written by M. Night Shyamalan about a boy who can see and talk to the dead.
M. Night Shyamalan uses several film devises and techniques to create suspense.
The sixth sense movie reinvents several of the key Hitchcockian techniques illustrated in The Birds
and these techniques work together to convey suspense. The Sixth Sense is one of the rare current
movies about healing rather than harming states Andrew Sarris. (par.4).
Sounds in The Birds assist in forming suspense in the Birds movie by adding an appropriate sound

Bavarian Erlking
At first glance this would indeed appear to be an Erlking attack, though not necessarily muggles
knowing about a magical creature more pure coincidence that a common story revolved around a
magical creature. I say that at first glance it appears to be an erlking attack because it like the Bavarian
Erlking seems to utilize the Erlking s gift to imitate human tongues as discussed in the lesson. As well
as we learned in the lesson Bavarian Erlking s are known to not wait for the child to be completely
lured away as we learned in class which supports the idea that it was a bavarian erlking. Now of
course this would only be supported if this story did indeed take place in Bavaria as we learned in the
lesson that it is the Bavarian Erlking that will attack and eat its victim in public before it is fully lured
away. Now from my research it is indeed true that certain dialects of German are spoken in Bavaria.
Thus it does make ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

withered leaves the night winds blow suggests what we have learned that the father as an adult
dismissed the sounds of the Erlking as just the wind nothing worse his notice or care. Then of course
the suggestion that this happens in Bavaria and is thus a Bavarian Erlking is by the last line The child
he held in his arms was dead suggesting that the Erlking did not lure the child away fully but attacked
in public the adult (father) dismissing its actions as natural. But nothing suggests that the muggles

Persuasive Essay On Donald Trump
Donald Trump was supposed to be the guy who would fix everything in Washington, but after two
months in office he s proving to be a terrible leader.
Trump was never very popular, but he got high marks for his leadership. Now that s fading. In
November just after the election, 56% of Americans thought he was a good leader now it s fallen to
just 40%.
After two months, here s what we know: He s not going to fix everything. He s not going to drain the
swamp. He s not going to make America great again. He s not going to unite all Americans. He s not
going to replace Obamacare with something terrific. He s not going to bring back the manufacturing
jobs or the American dream. He won t make America respected around the world. He won t make us
safer.
Why not? Because Trump isn t the strong leader he pretends to be. Even if he believed in all the things
he promised and wanted to accomplish them, he would fail because he doesn t understand how to
govern.
Trump is a failure because he ignored Ronald Reagan s most important lesson about leadership: There
is no limit to the amount of good you can do if you don t care who gets the credit.
Trump is still a great campaigner, no doubt. He can work a crowd like few others can.
But working the levers of policy, administration, legislation and diplomacy is beyond him. His whole

Of Mice and Men Movie Review I got you to look after me, and you got me to look after you. The
movie Of Mice and Men, directed by Gary Sinise in 1992, showed what life was like in rural America

they aren t accepted for their differences. Horton Foote, the screenwriter, did an exceptional job of
writing a script that was very similar to the book. The movie didn t take anything away from John

nicely done, the setting and and acting of the movie occasionally lacked believability. Of Mice and

they will be less traffic to L.A. There are some things that we also need to know that we just need to
know if it cost just enough.
The Mezcala Bridge or Mezcala Solidaridad is the thirteenth largest bridges in the world. The location
of the bridge are in the state of Guerrero in Mexico on Highway 95. The beginning of the Mezcala

The Theory Of Albert Bandura s Social Learning Theory
Albert Bandura is one of the most influential psychologist in history, best known for his famous Bobo
Doll Experiment. From this experiment, Bandura developed his Social Learning Theory, the theory
that we learn from one another through observation.
To prove his theory, Bandura used children to see if they would imitate a modal who showed
aggressive behavior toward a Bobo doll. The subjects were 36 boys and 36 girls from the Stanford
University s Nursery School aged between 3 and 6 years old. The models were two adults, male and
female. Aggressive behavior was shown to 24 children, non aggressive behavior was shown to 24
children and 24 children served as the control group. For the first step of the experiment, a child and a
model were brought into a room containing toys. The child was escorted to a corner that had potato
prints and stickers while the model was escorted to a corner that had a tinker toy set, a mallet and a 5
foot inflated Bobo doll. For subjects that were in the aggressive condition, the model began aggressing
toward the doll after a minute. The model performed distinct aggressive acts that Bandura was looking
for the child to imitate. The model laid the doll on its side, sat on it and punched it repeatedly in the
nose and then raised the doll, picked up the mallet and struck it on the head. Following the mallet
aggression, the model tossed the doll up in the air and kicked it around the room. These aggressive
acts were repeated three times, interspersed

him clothes and privacy so he can wash off in the river. Odysseus then went to Nausicaa s dad, or
King Alcinous, in which the king welcomed him and gave Odysseus food. Odysseus told his story
about the Trojan War. King Alcinous gave Odysseus ships and men to get him home. 5.In the section
Lotus Eaters , how do the Lotus Eaters pose a threat to Odysseus and his men?
The Lotus Eaters pose a threat by giving Odysseus and his men a plant, that whoever ate it would lose
hope in ever going home.
6.Based on your understanding of the text, what is something in modern society that compares to the
Lotus plant?
Drugs are like the Lotus Plant because people try to persuade you to do drugs and if you take them,
you will lose sight of giving up that addiction and it might even ruin your life.

Fee Simple Research Paper
Fee simple defeasible is another way of saying fee simple qualified. Fee simple qualified is an estate
for which owner has fee simple title subject to a condition. If the condition is not met, then the title
passes back to the owner. It is a conditional estate based on that condition. A condition subsequent is a
condition that must occur after the transaction and a condition precedent is a condition that must occur
prior to the transaction. The classic example is that of a specific use being required of a property. A
man gave his property to the city to use as a library. Years later the city stopped using the property as a
library and the man s heirs demanded the property back. The man s family regained title because the
title held by the city was a fee simple defeasible / qualified title and the condition was that the
property be used as a library. Just as a contrast, a fee simple absolute, is a transfer with no conditions.

There are two types of overall estates, freehold estates which are owned and less than freehold estates
which are rented or leased. There are two types of freehold estates: estate in fee and life estates. A life
estate is based on the life of a specified person. There are two types of estate in fee, fee simple
qualified and fee simple absolute. The fee simple qualified is based on some condition (precedent or
subsequent). The fee simple absolute is the completely unrestricted in any way estat¬e. When a home
is purchased under normal conditions in America, it is a fee simple absolute estate. Fee simple
absolute is an estate in fee which means it is a perpetual estate or an estate of inheritance too. The fact
that a home is purchased instead of rented makes the estate a freehold estate. A fee simple absolute is

Nursing Theorist/Theorist Selection
Upon reading about different nurse theorists, each member of our group listed their top three choices
of nursing theorists based upon individual interest. Virginia Henderson is one name that showed up
over and over and was therefore voted on to be our theorist of choice.

Her contributions include defining nursing, delineating autonomous nursing functions, stressing goals
of interdependence for the patient, and creating self help concepts (Alligood, 2014, p. 45). Henderson
s theory promotes the patient s independence and encourages caring for the person s physical, mental
and spiritual being. Virginia Henderson viewed the patient as an individual who requires help toward
achieving independence and completeness or wholeness of mind and body (Alligood, 2014, p. 45).
Current day nursing practice is centered on improving patient s independence by their performance of

Congenital Disorders With Intellectual Disability
Chapter Five
5. Discussion
Congenital disorders with intellectual disability (ID) constitute a particularly significant medical
problem because of the high prevalence and life long care that patients will need. The extreme genetic
heterogeneity of ID is a major problem for pre and postnatal diagnosis. In some cases, however, early
detection of a mutation may be important to prevent the manifestation of the handicap (Avbelj et al.
2007). Congenital hypothyroidism (CH) is one of the most frequent causes of preventable ID, which
can be averted by administering thyroid hormone in early postnatal life. This is achieved by newborn
screening detection.
Congenital hypothyroidism fulfills most of the criteria for disease screening as set out by Wilson and
Jungner (Wilson and Jungner 1968), in fact CH is four to five times more common than
Phenylketonuria for which newborn screening was initially developed (Chiesa, Rivolta, Targovnik,
Gruneiro Papendieck 2010).
Detection of CH by neonatal screening has been a major achievement because early diagnosis and
treatment result in normal development in nearly all cases. An additional benefit of neonatal screening
has been the elucidation of the incidence of CH as well as the prevalence of its various causes.
The incidence rate of CH is approximately 1 of 3000/4000 new births worldwide (Calaciura, Miscio,
Coco, Leonardi, Cisternino, Regalbuto, Bozzali, Maiorana, Ranieri, Carta, Buscema, Trischitta, Sava,
Tassi 2002). However, this

The Negative Consequences Of Edward Snowden
One often finds that standing up and working in favor of the greater good usually results in negative
consequences. Edward Snowden encountered this crossroad while working for the NSA and the CIA
as a technical contractor. When he was working at the NSA s Hawaii office, Snowden noticed various
government methods that the NSA was using to spy on American citizens. The NSA gathered
information from American citizens phone calls and internet use, without their consent. After three
months of working for the NSA, Snowden began leaking the secret documents showing the NSA s
surveillance methods. The documents contained information such as the invasion of privacy of
millions of Americans from the NSA s various domestic programs such as PRISM. Snowden had then
fled to Russia to escape any trouble with the law after he leaked to the newspaper companies which
began printing the documents. Snowden didn t decide to be in Russia, he was actually flying through
Russia going to Latin America. Which is where he intended to seek asylum, knowing the Obama
administration would put him into prison for the rest of his life. And being a rational person, he did not
want to be in jail for the rest of his life for being a whistleblower. The reason he could not get out of
Russia was because on the plane from Hong Kong to Russia, they revoked his passport and then told
the Cubans if you let him through to Latin America there will be all kinds of incriminations for you. (

Rhyme Schemes In Poetry
In many occasions, people may find poems without rhyme schemes uninteresting, bland, or maybe not
even poems at all. Though rhyme is not necessarily needed to make a poem good, it is a technique
used by poets to create emphasis on certain aspects of specific themes they are trying to express.
Rhyme schemes may contribute to the mood or tone of a piece, or even be used to create a certain
rhythm or flow. Poems like Sound and Sense by Alexander Pope, That Time of Year by the famous
William Shakespeare, and We Wear the Mask by Paul Laurence Dunbar, are perfectly good examples
of professionals taking their writing to the next level with a touch of rhyme. Each of these authors
have contributed greatly to the art of writing, and though their situations, or motives, for writing the
poems may be different, their effective use of the different schemes help the authors create a certain
feeling to each verse in their work. The rhyme schemes in Sound and Sense, That Time of Year, and
We Wear the Mask contribute to the author s feelings on vital situations they face through their daily
life.
In Sound and Sense, Alexander Pope shows off his abilities as a poet through his use of rhyme in an
iambic pentameter, to reveal how talented he is. It is true that Pope can be considered the creator of
heroic couplets and his creation is truly one of the best contributions to the poetry community. A
heroic couplet is when two lines are rhymed in a iambic pentameter scheme and Pope

D: Introduction As a teacher living in a highly religious state, it is important for me to know more
about the main religions in Utah. The two most prevalent, being the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
Day Saints (LDS) and the Catholic faith. I would like to know more about their beliefs, holidays, and
family traditions. Some of the main beliefs in the LDS culture are Jesus is the Savior of all man, The
Word of Wisdom, and the church was restored by their Prophet Joseph Smith. Some of the main
beliefs for the Catholic faith are the Bible, the different Saints, and baptism. There are many holidays
that are celebrated by both religions. Both Catholics and LDS members celebrate Christmas and
Easter. The LDS faith in Utah has a special state ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They then told him that he would be the prophet of the new church (Smith, n.d.). Joseph Smith s own
account of that day says,
My object in going to inquire of the Lord was to know which of all the sects was right, that I might
know which to join. No sooner, therefore, did I get possession of myself, so as to be able to speak,
than I asked the Personages who stood above me in the light, which of all the sects was right (for at
this time it had never entered into my heart that all were wrong) and which I should join. (Smith,n.d.)
He then became the first prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The LDS Church
believes that he translated the gold plates to what is now called the Book of Mormon, the main
scripture for the LDS church (Dirkmaat,2013). It is also believed that he received many revelations
from God. He was persecuted throughout his life and ended up dying a martyr at the age of 38
(McKeever,n.d.).
Holidays in the LDS faith are quite the same as the rest world. The most popular holiday
that they celebrate is Christmas. They believe that Christmas is a time to celebrate and remember
Jesus Christ s birth. Thomas Monson, a prophet of the LDS church states, When we have the spirit of
Christmas, we remember Him whose birth we commemorate at this season of the year. We
contemplate that first Christmas day, foretold by the prophets of old. (Monson, 2008). They believe

Comparison Of Prometheus Bound By Aeschylus And Oedipus King
It is important to be afraid. This is a message the two greek plays Prometheus Bound by Aeschylus
and Oedipus Rex by Sophocles send to the citizens of Ancient Greece. The emotions of the gods in
both plays are unchangeable, regardless of how involved they are in the plot. This steeliness causes
fear of the gods and allows them to successfully lead. When displaying their power, the gods are able
to keep greek citizens in the hold of their leadership. They have trapped the people so they are unable
to survive without their guidance, but have also created fear and respect. If they don t fear the gods
and respect power the people s lives will descend into chaos. However, if they do have fear they are
unable to lead by themselves and become independent. The fear and respect the gods invoke in people
is the key to their leadership, and without it there can be no civility. In the play Prometheus Bound, the
gods are directly involved as characters and are portrayed as extremely stubborn. Prometheus, a titan
and god of foresight, is being punished for aiding the humans who Zeus would like to replace with a
new master race. As a relatively new leader of the gods, Zeus has the power to punish Prometheus in
anyway he wants even though Prometheus is a god himself. Zeus decides to bind Prometheus to a
rock, hence the name Prometheus Bound. There are many instances where Zeus is proven to be
stubborn and cold shouldered towards everyone, regardless of their standing. When talking to

Persuasive Essay On Voting In America
Brooke Lowery
Mr. Bare
January 17, 2017
AP Gov.
Voting in America According to past studies done, only roughly 55% of registered voters actually
vote. the other 45% may have just not wanted to vote, or they may have not been able to for multiple
reasons. Ever since America was founded, there have always opticals put up intentionally to restrict
voting without clearly stating that they are restricting voting. If America claims that we are a
democracy , which according to the dictionary is a system of government by the whole population or
all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives , then America should
make it easier to vote so all citizens can be included in the choices of our country. Ways to make this
possible is by fixing the voter ID laws, create automatic registration, and change the voting date.
Restrictive voting laws have been around since ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first major law passed to restrict voting was created in 1889. This is the year that the country
passed to make a poll tax. This meant that anyone who wanted to vote had to pay a tax when they
went to vote. This was mostly to keep black people from voting, as well as the poor white people.
Thankfully people realized that this was not right, and it was abolished in 1964 under the court case of
Harper v. Virginia Board of Elections. The most recent restrictive voting law is Voter ID Laws. These
are put into place by individual states, starting as far back as 1977 in the states of Georgia and Florida.
These laws state that in order for a person to vote, they must show proof of Identity such as a driver s
license, a gun/ hunters license, a birth certificate, social security card, etc. This is to prevent voting
fraud, which according to the Washington Post, only happened four times in the past election. These
laws were put up to restrict those who cannot afford any sort of

An Analysis Of William Apess An Indian s Looking Glass For...
William Apess persuades that Natives and Whites are on the same level in the eyes of God. In An
Indian s Looking Glass for the White Man, William Apess condemns White Men with relentless
assaults and references in the form of exegesis and anaphora. Apess directly addresses a white
audience (Apess, 1). He considers his audience and recognizes their pathos, and uses exegesis to
appeal to their spiritual beliefs. Thou shalt love the Lord, thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul
and Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself are two Testaments used to show the hypocrisy of white
Christians (Apess 3). Apess challenges racism, and the belief that whites are superior, by showing that
believers in Christianity are mere neighbors to each other.

My Action Is Morally Permissible
In today s society, us as humans have many different ideologies, but more importantly have ethical
standards that we live by, or most of us do. Ethics is important in everyday life, from having morals to
what you believe in. You have to think about if my action was morally permissible or impermissible.
Was my action wrong or right? All of this comes into play when we talk about ethical issues we have
throughout our lifetime. Many of us consider us as Christians, which you believe in the Bible, but yet
we tend to still have sexual intercourse or intoxicate our bodies with poison, according to the Bible.
We can be hypocrites about our ethical believes! With many couples who can not have children, more

First, if Sarah is so focused on not doing anything besides taking fertility medication, then for myself,
it would be very difficult to change her mind. If you ask me, I am a utilitarian and will agree with Jim
more than Sarah, even though I still believe in God. In Sarah case, I describe that God died to wash
out sins away, which were repentance comes in. I would tell Sarah that if we do something against
your religion or if that is a sin, explain to God that I did this for myself and my family, knowing it was
a sin but then ask for his forgiveness. Also, if that is promoting the greater good for the overall
majority, than that would be morally permissible for Jim and he would find happiness in that. Sarah
has think about how God died for all of our sins, meaning he took his own life for the greater good,
which to me, I think God or Jesus has utilitarian characteristics. You also have to look at the risk
associated with assisted reproductive and what could the possible outcomes be. You could have no
success in your journey of ART, but then you could have great success with it. You could also hurt

Competitive Advantages Of HRM
Gaining Competitive Advantage through Lean Practices in HRM Dr.Dolly Dolai*
ABSTRACT
Current business conditions mandate greater competitive advantage from HR agendas and processes.
HR must contribute strategic value to add greater competitive advantage either reactively or
proactively. In its strategically reactive mode, HR assumes the existence of a business strategy and
adds value by linking HR practices to the business strategy and by managing change. In its
strategically proactive mode, HR creates competitive advantage by creating cultures of creativity and
innovation, and by linking internal processes and structures with ongoing changes in the marketplace.

Competitive Advantage, the impact on HRM and the corresponding modifications required on the
HRM policies and practices needs a study.
Mr Taichi Ohno first developed the Lean Concepts at Toyota ( Womack, 1998) The principles he
developed are applicable both to the manufacturing and the service sectors(
A.Lakshminarasimha,2005). To enable a proper perspective on the concepts of Lean, an attempt is
made to briefly recapitulate on them.
What is lean? There are basically two definitions of lean; it is a systematic approach to eliminating
waste through continuous improvement, and, it is a total business process not just manufacturing. The
measurement is from once an order is taken to receipt of payment. And really, lean is all about

Difference Between Civil Law And Criminal Law
What is the difference between criminal and civil law? What is a tort? What are three forms of product
liability cases that can be formed due to a manufacturer s negligence? And what is a warranty? These
are all important questions that are answered by having a basic knowledge of the law and regulations.
Let s take a look at each term and how our legal court system has defined them. First, criminal law is a
crime and considered a type of wrongdoing. It can be against an individual or to society as a whole
that is perceived as threatening, harmful, or otherwise an endangerment to a person s property, health,
safety, and/or moral welfare. We define these crimes as assault, battery, arson, rape, or fraud, just to
name a few. Therefore, if a person allegedly has committed a crime, a public official such as a district
attorney, will file a case against a defendant, whom is then required to appear in court. The defendant
then will need to appear before a judge or jury and based on the evidence presented a finding will be
either innocence or guilt. If a defendant in a criminal matter is found guilty, our society believes that a
defendant should serve a punishment for their wrong doings. Therefore, punishments for the wrong
doer are either fines, probation, imprisonment, or in some cases even death. Second, civil law is an
injury to a person or property in which a civil action begins when a party files a complaint. For
example, a civil matter could be a breach of

It features a programme of talks, forums, workshops, art, theatre and music performances, interactive installations, and film screenings, organised by a coalition of Malaysian NGOs, artists and individuals. Should the ban on Seksualiti Merdeka not be reversed, the matter can be expected to be taken up by countries at the Human Rights Council in the future. The Malaysian government also should ensure the safety of human rights defenders such as former Bar Council president Ambiga Sreenevasan, who has faced severe verbal attacks since it was revealed that she was scheduled to preside over the opening session of Seksualiti Merdeka. Perkasa and other groups have labeled Ambiga as an antichrist, impugned her patriotism, called for her Malaysian citizenship to be stripped, and demanded she be detained in preventive detention under the Internal Security Act. FACTOR LEADS TO HOMOSEXUALITY Most researchers agree that homosexuality is multi causal and complex; many factors contribute to the development of same sex attraction. They also believe that the homosexuality has nothing to do with the biological or genetic. If homosexual impulses are not inherited, what kinds of influences do cause strong homosexual desires? Some researchers believe that causes of homosexuality include the individual, family, society and media. The Current Uk Animal Welfare The current UK animal welfare legislations and their objectives are: ¬ Animal Welfare Act 2006 This Act has for the first time introduced legislation for pet owners meaning that the owners have a legal duty of care to meet the five welfare needs of their pets. The welfare needs are also known as the five freedoms and they are the basic needs of any animal. The law also applies to people who are responsible for animals, such as breeders and those who keep working animals. (APGAW. When I was a young man, I traveled to many different places to observe the different lifestyles and cultures. Some of the countries I visited were India, Egypt, and Persia (Bulfinch). If I could meet a Greek god or goddess I would undoubtedly choose Apollo. Apollo has many great characteristics and I think we could be good friends if we talked with each other. One reason why I want to meet him is because I am interested in seeing what he looks like. In books they say he is the most beautiful god represented by the color gold. He also has a golden chariot with golden horses which I want to ride. Another reason is that he is the god of things that I m interested in like music, mathematics, and medicine (Bernard Evslin 37). He is also a very thoughtful and kindhearted god. The main reason I want to meet him is that he owns an oracle that can tell the future and even though I have clairvoyant powers at this moment, I want to ask him if he will let me borrow his oracle just in case if I lose my powers (Ellen Switzer 26). Just as mitigating risks can affect the IT practices of a company, the place where a business stores its data holds major significance in an era in which the majority of work is done online. A business has two main options: it can store its data in a data center or in a cloud. A data center is an onsite hardware that stores a business information on a local network. On the other hand, a cloud is an off site location where a service provider owns and manages infrastructure with cloud users, accessing slices of shared hardware resources via the Internet . Each of these options serve different purposes and benefit or disadvantage a company in different ways. There was a lot of cruel, violence, segregations compare to the world in BNW. He also uses many literary devices to tell use what his society looks like during the 1930 s. During this time the WWii was going on and this was a big deal to the world because there was a lot of dramas and other dangerous things going on. Some of those devices are simile, details, metaphor... One major event was people being considerate about others instead on themselves. One of the literary devices that Aldous Huxley uses is metaphor to give us a description of what is happening to Lenina and how she acts, also help her remind her who the real Lenina is. Lenina liked the drums. Shutting her eyes she abandoned herself to their soft repeated thunder, allowed it to invade her consciousness more and more completely, till at last there was nothing left in the world but that one deep pulse of sound. It reminded her reassuringly of the synthetic noises made at Solidarity Services and Ford s Day celebrations. Orgy porgy, she whispered to herself. These drums beat out just the same rhythms (107 8). • 9. The Discovery Of Mount Everest Over nine thousand people died and thousands were displaced when an earthquake with a magnitude of 8.1 hit Nepal in April 2015. Consequently, this earthquake triggered the deadliest event in the history of Mount Everest when an avalanche killed 19 people two weeks later (1). This tragedy was caused by two pieces of the planet s crust that have been colliding for millions of years now. Moreover, this collision is based on the scientific theory of plate tectonics that cases the large scale motion of the planet s lithosphere. The same theory also explains how Mount Everest, a part of the Himalayas, was affected. Nepal s seismic nature and the Himalayas are connected through the collision of the Indian Plate and the Eurasian plate. First and foremost, plate tectonic theory deals with the idea that lithospheric plates or tectonic plates move around the crust. Tectonic plates are slabs of the Earth s lithosphere which is a combination of the crust and uppermost mantle. The lithosphere is characterized by its rigid and cooler nature. On the other hand, the asthenosphere is hotter and more viscous and lies beneath the lithosphere. Together, the lithosphere and the asthenosphere makes up the outer layers of the Earth. These two layers are really important because the rigid pieces of the lithosphere ride on the viscosity of the asthenosphere (2). As previously mentioned, the Nepal earthquake was caused collision of these plates and it has numerous underlying factors that started ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Shakespeare is able to connect with many who encounter his work by creating a range of characters such as heroes in the form of Hamlet or villains in that of Claudius. Playwright William Shakespeare s Hamlet and King Lear demonstrate the manipulation of family to achieve one s ends. Personal gain through family is a significant contributing factor to both of these tragedies. Claudius calls Hamlet s grieving unmanly and urges him to move on, because death is only natural. Moreover, he insultingly claims to feel the most honourable love that a father can have for his son. To begin the first experiment, the diketone was prepared by the addition of 1 phenyl 1,2 propandione into the reaction flask containing baker s yeasts and water. A TLC plate was spotted with the starting reagent, the diketone, and the chamber was developed using a 6:4 solvent combination of cyclohexane and t BME respectively. The diketone s polarity was observed from the distance it traveled up the TLC plate, and this distance was near the solvent front with an Rf value of __________________. At the end of the 90 minute experiment, the second TLC plate was obtained for the product, the diol, using the same solvent combination to develop the TLC chamber. The diol s polarity was predicted to be much more polar than the starting material due to its stronger intermolecular forces, such as hydrogen bonding. For this reason, the diol s spot showed up closer to the origin and farther away from the solvent front in contrast to the diketone. The Rf values demonstrate this as the diol had a relatively smaller Rf value of _____________ compared to the diketone s Rf value of ___________. Continuing the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some of these support these religious beliefs, some don t. However it is first appropriate to establish whether or not they are actually making a valid comment on the subject of religion or not. Georg Hegel (1770 1831) was the initial scholar to step foot into this field. He redefined God by creating a character he often named Spirit . He attempted to make God sound theistic by giving God a mind. In some passages, this mind was made to resemble the transcendent mind of Christianity s theistic God, although some interpreters recognised that Spirit s mind was actually nothing but the collective psyche of man. If an individual believes in and performs religious activities, and those actions happen to work, then that practice appears the proper choice for said individual. However, if no, there is no rationality to continue with the action. It is possible that James was influenced but Epicurus two sovereign masters . In terms of critiques of w. James, he does not attempt to prove or disprove that God exiles, so his work is ambiguous and leaves his working assumptions unexplored. Also, his work focused solely on mystical experiences and avoided the kind of public religious experiences Swinburne would later consider. And, is pragmatism a good basis for religion? It ignores the religious teaching of the efficacy of suffering to transform the character of the believer. For religion suffering is not the issue but sin. James never defines what he means by God and this casts doubt on the significance of describing mystical experiences. Trump was never very popular, but he got high marks for his leadership. Now that s fading. In November just after the election, 56% of Americans thought he was a good leader now it s fallen to just 40%. After two months, here s what we know: He s not going to fix everything. He s not going to drain the swamp. He s not going to make America great again. He s not going to unite all Americans. He s not going to replace Obamacare with something terrific. He s not going to bring back the manufacturing jobs or the American dream. He won t make America respected around the world. He won t make us safer. Why not? Because Trump isn t the strong leader he pretends to be. Even if he believed in all the things he promised and wanted to accomplish them, he would fail because he doesn t understand how to govern. Trump is a failure because he ignored Ronald Reagan s most important lesson about leadership: There is no limit to the amount of good you can do if you don t care who gets the credit. • 19. The Theory Of Albert Bandura s Social Learning Theory Albert Bandura is one of the most influential psychologist in history, best known for his famous Bobo Doll Experiment. From this experiment, Bandura developed his Social Learning Theory, the theory that we learn from one another through observation. To prove his theory, Bandura used children to see if they would imitate a modal who showed aggressive behavior toward a Bobo doll. The subjects were 36 boys and 36 girls from the Stanford University s Nursery School aged between 3 and 6 years old. The models were two adults, male and female. Aggressive behavior was shown to 24 children, non aggressive behavior was shown to 24 children and 24 children served as the control group. For the first step of the experiment, a child and a model were brought into a room containing toys. The child was escorted to a corner that had potato prints and stickers while the model was escorted to a corner that had a tinker toy set, a mallet and a 5 foot inflated Bobo doll. For subjects that were in the aggressive condition, the model began aggressing toward the doll after a minute. The model performed distinct aggressive acts that Bandura was looking for the child to imitate. The model laid the doll on its side, sat on it and punched it repeatedly in the nose and then raised the doll, picked up the mallet and struck it on the head. Following the mallet aggression, the model tossed the doll up in the air and kicked it around the room. These aggressive acts were repeated three times, interspersed ... • 21. Fee Simple Research Paper Fee simple defeasible is another way of saying fee simple qualified. Fee simple qualified is an estate for which owner has fee simple title subject to a condition. If the condition is not met, then the title passes back to the owner. It is a conditional estate based on that condition. A condition subsequent is a condition that must occur after the transaction and a condition precedent is a condition that must occur prior to the transaction. The classic example is that of a specific use being required of a property. A man gave his property to the city to use as a library. Years later the city stopped using the property as a library and the man s heirs demanded the property back. The man s family regained title because the title held by the city was a fee simple defeasible / qualified title and the condition was that the property be used as a library. • 23. Congenital Disorders With Intellectual Disability Chapter Five 5. Discussion Congenital disorders with intellectual disability (ID) constitute a particularly significant medical problem because of the high prevalence and life long care that patients will need. The extreme genetic heterogeneity of ID is a major problem for pre and postnatal diagnosis. In some cases, however, early detection of a mutation may be important to prevent the manifestation of the handicap (Avbelj et al. 2007). Congenital hypothyroidism (CH) is one of the most frequent causes of preventable ID, which can be averted by administering thyroid hormone in early postnatal life. This is achieved by newborn screening detection. Congenital hypothyroidism fulfills most of the criteria for disease screening as set out by Wilson and Jungner (Wilson and Jungner 1968), in fact CH is four to five times more common than Phenylketonuria for which newborn screening was initially developed (Chiesa, Rivolta, Targovnik, Gruneiro Papendieck 2010). Detection of CH by neonatal screening has been a major achievement because early diagnosis and treatment result in normal development in nearly all cases. An additional benefit of neonatal screening has been the elucidation of the incidence of CH as well as the prevalence of its various causes. The incidence rate of CH is approximately 1 of 3000/4000 new births worldwide (Calaciura, Miscio, Coco, Leonardi, Cisternino, Regalbuto, Bozzali, Maiorana, Ranieri, Carta, Buscema, Trischitta, Sava, Tassi 2002). The NSA gathered information from American citizens phone calls and internet use, without their consent. • 25. Rhyme Schemes In Poetry In many occasions, people may find poems without rhyme schemes uninteresting, bland, or maybe not even poems at all. Though rhyme is not necessarily needed to make a poem good, it is a technique used by poets to create emphasis on certain aspects of specific themes they are trying to express. Rhyme schemes may contribute to the mood or tone of a piece, or even be used to create a certain rhythm or flow. Poems like Sound and Sense by Alexander Pope, That Time of Year by the famous William Shakespeare, and We Wear the Mask by Paul Laurence Dunbar, are perfectly good examples of professionals taking their writing to the next level with a touch of rhyme. Each of these authors have contributed greatly to the art of writing, and though their situations, or motives, for writing the poems may be different, their effective use of the different schemes help the authors create a certain feeling to each verse in their work. The rhyme schemes in Sound and Sense, That Time of Year, and We Wear the Mask contribute to the author s feelings on vital situations they face through their daily life. In Sound and Sense, Alexander Pope shows off his abilities as a poet through his use of rhyme in an iambic pentameter, to reveal how talented he is. It is true that Pope can be considered the creator of heroic couplets and his creation is truly one of the best contributions to the poetry community. • 28. Comparison Of Prometheus Bound By Aeschylus And Oedipus King It is important to be afraid. This is a message the two greek plays Prometheus Bound by Aeschylus and Oedipus Rex by Sophocles send to the citizens of Ancient Greece. The emotions of the gods in both plays are unchangeable, regardless of how involved they are in the plot. This steeliness causes fear of the gods and allows them to successfully lead. When displaying their power, the gods are able to keep greek citizens in the hold of their leadership. They have trapped the people so they are unable to survive without their guidance, but have also created fear and respect. If they don t fear the gods and respect power the people s lives will descend into chaos. However, if they do have fear they are unable to lead by themselves and become independent. The fear and respect the gods invoke in people is the key to their leadership, and without it there can be no civility. In the play Prometheus Bound, the gods are directly involved as characters and are portrayed as extremely stubborn. Prometheus, a titan and god of foresight, is being punished for aiding the humans who Zeus would like to replace with a new master race. As a relatively new leader of the gods, Zeus has the power to punish Prometheus in anyway he wants even though Prometheus is a god himself. • 34. Difference Between Civil Law And Criminal Law What is the difference between criminal and civil law? What is a tort? What are three forms of product liability cases that can be formed due to a manufacturer s negligence? And what is a warranty? These are all important questions that are answered by having a basic knowledge of the law and regulations. Let s take a look at each term and how our legal court system has defined them. First, criminal law is a crime and considered a type of wrongdoing. It can be against an individual or to society as a whole that is perceived as threatening, harmful, or otherwise an endangerment to a person s property, health, safety, and/or moral welfare. We define these crimes as assault, battery, arson, rape, or fraud, just to name a few. Therefore, if a person allegedly has committed a crime, a public official such as a district attorney, will file a case against a defendant, whom is then required to appear in court. The defendant then will need to appear before a judge or jury and based on the evidence presented a finding will be either innocence or guilt. If a defendant in a criminal matter is found guilty, our society believes that a defendant should serve a punishment for their wrong doings. Therefore, punishments for the wrong doer are either fines, probation, imprisonment, or in some cases even death. Second, civil law is an injury to a person or property in which a civil action begins when a party files a complaint. For example, a civil matter could be a breach of ...
