This document explores the concept of Kaizen and provides information about Kansai Nerolac Paints Limited in Kanpur, India where the author conducted research. Kaizen refers to small, continuous improvements in processes or equipment. The author conducted a descriptive study using random sampling and questionnaires to understand how Kaizen events could be made more effective at Kansai Nerolac Paints. The research found that Kaizen has resulted in improvements but lacks evidence on effective designs for sustaining impacts. Suggestions are provided to enhance welfare amenities like transport, recreation, and medical facilities based on the research findings.

TRANSPARENT ELECTRONICS
Abstract: Transparent electronics is an emerging science and technology field focused on producing ‘invisible’ electronic circuitry and opto-electronic devices.
Applications include consumer electronics, new energy sources, and transportation; for example, automobilewindshields could transmit visual information to the driver. Glass in almost any setting could also double as an electronic device, possibly improving security systems or offering transparent displays. In a similar vein, windows could be used to produce electrical power. Other civilian and military applications in this research field include realtime wearable displays.
As for conventional Si/III–V-based electronics, the basic device structure is based on semiconductor junctions and transistors. However, the device building block materials, the semiconductor, the electric contacts, and the ielectric/passivation layers, must now be transparent in the visible –a true challenge! Therefore, the first scientific goal of this technology must be to discover,understand, and implement transparent high-performance electronic materials. The second goal is their implementation and evaluation in transistor and circuit structures.
The electronics during the past 10 years, the classes of materials available for transparent electronics applications have grown dramatically. Historically, this area was dominated by transparent conducting oxides (oxide materials that are both electrically conductive and optically transparent) because of their wide use in antistatic coatings, touch display panels, solar cells, flat panel displays, heaters, defrosters, ‘smart windows’ and optical coatings. All these applications use transparent conductive oxides as passive electrical or optical coatings. The field of transparent conducting oxide (TCO) materials has been reviewed and many treatises on the topic are available. However, more recently there have been tremendous efforts to develop new active materials for functional transparent electronics. These new technologies will require new materials sets, in addition to the TCO component, including conducting, dielectric and semiconducting materials, as well as passive components for full device fabrication.
COMBINING OPTICAL TRANSPARENCY WITH ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY
Transparent conductors are neither 100% optically transparent nor metallically conductive. From the band structure point of view, the combination of the two properties in the same material is contradictory: a transparent material is an insulator which possesses completely filled valence and empty conduction bands; whereas metallic conductivity appears when the Fermi level lies within a band with a large density of states to provide high carrier concentration. Efficient transparent conductors find their niche in a compromise between a sufficient transmission within the visible spectral range and a moderate but useful in practice electrical conductivity.

A Study on “Job Satisfaction of Employees” was conducted in Cube Engitech Consultant Pvt. Ltd. The Primary objective of this research was to find the level of satisfaction of employees in the organization. The study was done as a part of descriptive research. Convenience sampling technique was used for selecting the sample. The primary data was collected by the means of a questionnaire. The secondary data was poised from the company records and websites. A structured questionnaire was circulated within fifty employees and the data collected was based on the same. Chi-square test and Likert scale method was used to analyze the data. Supreme care has been taken from the beginning of the preparation of the questionnaire up to the analysis, findings and suggestions. The analysis conducted lead to the conclusion that majority of the employees are satisfied. Dissatisfaction with locus to some of the factors was also reported. It was also found that dissatisfaction among employees will adversely affect the work performance and productivity of the organization. Valuable suggestions and recommendations are also made to the company for the better prospects based on the results derived.

2. KAIZEN
Kaizen means Kai (Change) and Zen (For Good). Any change for Good can be
termed as Kaizen.
Kaizen is any small improvement done in the current working procedure, equipment.
Kaizen is a daily process, the purpose of which goes beyond simple productivity
improvement. It is also a process that, when done correctly, humanizes the
workplace, eliminates overly hard work , and teaches people how to perform
experiments on their work using the scientific method and how to learn to spot and
eliminate waste in business processes.
3. KANSAI NEROLAC PAINTS LIMITED, KANPUR
It is the second largest coating company in India and market leader in Industrial
Coatings. Its Industrial Coatings it has a wide range of products in the
Automotive, Powder, General Industrial and High performance Coatings space.

5. OBJECTIVES
A Kaizen event is a focused and structured improvement project, using a dedicated crossfunctional team to improve a targeted work area, with specific goals, in an accelerated
timeframe.
Recent evidence suggests that Kaizen events are becoming increasingly popular as a
method for targeting initial improvement both in business performance and social system
outcomes . However, the initial success of a Kaizen event does not guarantee the
sustainability of event outcomes.
In fact, some practitioners note that Kaizen events should not be performed unless they
are done with the intent and activities necessary to sustain results.
To over come this situation my objective was how to make Kaizen event more efficient,
effective, and interesting and make this useful and helpful in the company.
6. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research Design: Descriptive study
Sampling Technique Used:- Simple Random sampling.
Sample Size- 100 employees
Sample Area: KANSAI NEROLAC PAINTS LIMITED, KANPUR
Scale used- 5 POINT
7. THE DESCRIPTIVE RESEARCH HAS TAKEN
PLACE :
PRIMARY DATA: Primary data are the data gathered for the specific research
project and are directly taken from the very source of information. Questionnaire
consist of a set of questions presented to the respondent for their answer. Because
of its flexibility the questionnaire is by far the most common instrument used to
gather primary data. Questionnaire needs to be carefully developed and tested
before they are actually used on a large scale.
SECONDARY DATA: Secondary data are the data, which already exists and were
collected for some other purpose or for similar previous studies. Secondary data
were proved to be instrumental in structuring the questions to be asked for
collecting primary data. It is one of the important sources to collect primary data.
Through personal interview interviewer can ask question according to the research
requirement. Data which is collected by personal interview is more reliable than
other sources.
8. FINDINGS
They apply low-cost problem solving tools and techniques to rapidly plan
and, often, implement improvements in a target work area.
I founded that Kaizen have resulted in substantial improvements in key business
metrics, as well as in important human resource outcomes.
However, despite their popularity and apparent potential for creating
improvement, there is a lack of systematic research on Kaizen events.
There is no systematic, empirical evidence on what sort of Kaizen event designs
may be most effective for achieving and sustaining improvements in business
performance or human resource outcomes in KANSAI NEROLAC PAINTS
Ltd.
9. CONCLUSION
Majority of the respondents are working in KNPL for 20 & more than 20 years so
that the data collected from them is more reliable and evident.
The medical facilities are good but it needs to take steps for better improvement.
The canteen facility provided by the organization is not satisfactory. Maximum of
the employees are not highly satisfied with the food quality & maintenance of the
canteen & mess.
The overall welfare amenities provided by KNPL are satisfactory, it means that the
organization provide a good standard of amenities for the welfare of its employees.
10. SUGGESTION
Although KNPL, Kanpur is always committed towards their employees and their
families but then also I would like to give some of the suggestions.
The transport facilities (shift buses) provided by KNPL to the employees for coming
factory and for go home.
The recreational facilities should be enhanced by management for both executives &
non- executives.
Medical facilities required high efficiency in rendering services.
The overall welfare amenities provided by KNPL, Kanpur require proper check &
review time to time.
